Great school for engineering and decent for nursing. Business school will depend on your work and the professors you choose(from 1-4 ⭐️). The support sucks. Try calling financial aid or student accounts and you know how living in purgatory feels like. One hour of waiting on the line is typical and if you wanna use the outdated mymav website to get help without calling them, good luck 😉 The number in the picture below belongs to student accounts department who will drop you from all your classes when u owe money so you need speed dealing with them. I suggest you’ll go there physically even if you’re infected with Covid19 as you have a better chance of reaching them in person. If I could give this university a zero star, I would do it. As an international student, I have millions of terrible experiences with this university. The graduate school and the international students office have been really really rude. They will try to frustrate you using any way they could. Also, the insurance requirement for international students have been so unfair. They will charge you lots lots of money for the insurance for the summer time even though you are not enrolled in any classes during the summer. Also, the staff working in the graduate school have been so rude and know very little. Some of the graduate and undergraduate classes have been so meaningless and do not worth the money.yaqing cao

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. Somethings have not changed at all about this wonderful for school even after 18 years. Despite being reminded of how old I’ve gotten, I was first introduced to the school back in 2000 when I was being recruited to play soccer here and everything about the school and the people that work there were just amazing, genuine and friendly. Now I’m trying to do work with career and job fairs and the people that are working there are still extremely kind and helpful. I’ve spoken to several universities and colleges today and in this past week and I had one person that went out of their way to Dallas Baptist University just answer a bunch of questions for me and help me out and point me in the right direction. The difference is that she spent more time doing it and was patient and did not look at it as if it was a hassle or obligation and even helped find me some additional ways to get back onto the campus. I’ve had a lot of friends and family members graduate from that school including recent family members and I have a cousin that is about to attend that school and I could not be happier that they are going to a place with such a great faculty and staff along with a beautiful campus. I recommend if you have any questions about career fairs, job fairs, student services, or general questions at all you call and speak to Akita Cook. She was so patient and helpful and stayed on the line with me longer than all the other colleges I’ve spoken with combined. I hope that she is given recognition for this as this is a lost attribute at most schools now with everything being automated for students, employers, and others who find it difficult to even reach someone much less have the excellent service from this employee of this great university. Thank you Miss Cook for going out of your way and lastly, if she cannot help you, she will transfer you and find the person/department that can help you.Kevin Inman

I attended DBU from 2010-2014 and graduated with a B.B.A in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. The only regret I have is not choosing to do the fast track program where you can get your Bachelor's and Master's in 5 years. My time at DBU completely changed my life for the better. The professors there are amazing and genuinely care about their students. I still remain friends with some of my professors to this day. The atmosphere in general is really uplifting and so positive. I was in a sorority during my time at DBU and fostered many friendships, some of them lifelong. If I could go back and do it all over again I would. I also participated in the Discipleship Program (highly recommended) for two years and had the most amazing mentor who completely changed my life. DBU really is an amazing school filled with countless opportunities and countless ways to build community with other students. I know y'all are hanging in there from the pandemic I will be going to school on June 1st I have not been in school for 6 years because of problems in my family's life I'm still trying to figure life out I'm just now starting to take care of my mom I am living with her now which is a big step. I either need a scholarship for a college essay or need a grant but they said I don't make enough money. I worked for four years by the way. since I started school in dallas colleges(2019) this summer 2022 is the worse for me. My professor O'Brien is never available, no help from him, and has denied access to all the features that other professors give access to students in order to help us. I went to the campus to talk to an advisor after sending him more than 5 emails, even at the campus No one knew his whereabouts and he finally responded after 2 weeks since i told him I think I'll drop that class he didn't even bother to try and assist me instead he said yes you can drop it and you'll for sure find the same class with another instructor good luck. First time to have such a 👎 instructor at dallas colleges I so much regret wasting this semester in this class. Im only a freshmen at Mountainview community college but I already have a great opinion on the institution. I love the greenery surrounding the buildings because they make me feel tranquilized, I love the inclusivity this college gives and the diversity here. The professors that I have so far have been amazing and makes my classes worth looking forward to. I visited the school store in the S building just last week and I really love everything the store has to offer such as snacks, school supplies, feminine products, hygiene products, cosmetics, and basic necessities! The subway in the dining hall has welcoming employees with great customer service. The success coaches in the S building are also very helpful with planning for classes and addressing any concerns you may have. I love this college!Brianna

Would not recommend. I can't speak to the instructors since I never made it that far, but the staff needs a refresher course on office management. I work in an admin office and if I ignored customers as I was ignored by this college I would have been fired a long time ago. I had my former colleges send my official transcripts in April which both confirmed that they had. I asked in June and in July where we were in the processes. The only answer I received was that "we can't find them" and asked if they were submitted under another name. I had told them multiple times that they were submitted under my maiden name as I was not married when I received other degrees. No response. So I had them resent. There was no response. So after 24 hours I emailed both the registrar's office AND the email designed specifically for transcripts and did not hear back again. When I went up and emailed everyone in the admissions office suddenly they found my transcripts and my transcript hold disappeared like that. And then afterward, suddenly I received a response to one of my emails and the person I was speaking to was quite snippy with me saying that she "got to it when she could" although I had been inquiring for 2 MONTHS about the status of my transcripts. Fortunately this was going to be my first semester and I have enough time that I found another distance education vet tech degree from another college. I won't be registering for classes with Cedar Valley after this whole thing honestly its NOT worth it. Also, there is NO requirement to meet with an advisor and no one point of contact for Distance Education students. Their instructions for registering for classes are confusing and even inquiry emails were met with silence. Also it feels the admissions office was supplying contrary information on how to enroll in vet tech classes in the first place! If you're looking for a distance education vet tech program I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you going elsewhere. You'll just get frustrated here. I would give 0 stars if possibleAmy Shumway

I'm going to be fair and admit that the teachers I've had have been the most helpful, inspiring, and kind people I've ever met. Unfortunately I can't say the same for most of the staff up front. Most of the staff are rude and unhelpful, constantly running you in circles like they have no idea how anything works. The advising staff are very unhelpful as well. Patty Soper-Shaw placed me in two wrong classes my first semester, and admitted to me she had no idea about any of the technology courses I was trying to take. Because of that, I'm now left without the hardware course I needed to take before the software one which leads me to this biggest problem I have with this college. DO NOT TAKE TECHNOLOGY CLASSES HERE! It's a dead end. A majority of classes never have enough students to make the class work, so they're constantly being dropped. The dean of the technology department, Mr. Johnson, came to our class at the beginning of the Fall 2017 Semester to tell us our class is cancelled. He even admitted that the technology classes there are failing tor receive enough students for the classes, and apparently it's been that way for the past 10 years! It's to the point where my degree is absolutely useless, and because of the constant cancellations and mess ups between staff and advisers, my life is now behind because I can't even get a simple certification or degree. I've been at this school for three semesters, and after my class getting cancelled again, I've decided to finish up this last semester and move onto another college. This school is the most unorganized, uninformative, and misleading place I've ever been to. I'm not the only student this has happened to either. I've spoken with many at that school who have suffered from the same problems I spoke about. This school has been a nightmare to go to and get anything done at. Awful experience. The advising staff were rude and unhelpful. Registration staff were extremely unhelpful and contradictory. After being led in pointless circles and constantly receiving contradictory information about required forms and materials, I was finally able to meet someone who understood what was going on (after talking with at least 4 different registration staff members). By the time everything was sorted out, the classes were filled up. The advising staff members are not accommodating, interrupting, and very accusatory. It should not be on the customers shoulders to filter through constant contradictions just to apply to the school. I did follow and submit the required material stated online. Apparently, the material submitted was no acceptable and I had to jump through many hoops and complete many tedious tasks just to be told it was all pointless and I didn't even have to do any of the "required" forms or tasks. Honestly, I just felt like I was wasting my time doing pointless tasks when most, if not all, of it could have been avoided. By the time all my information was processed, I had finished applying/enrolling, getting advised, registering for classes, and paying for the classes at a different community college. This was the most unorganized, confusing, drawn-out process I've ever had to go through for any college admission. Wasted so much time throughout this process. Oh, did I mention that no one knows how to pick up the phone? Called at many different points in time throughout the day just to be sent to voicemail… This happened for an entire week. Leave a voicemail and hope they get back to you promptly.Water Fountain

Lisa the advisor in Eastfield college was horrible. Everyone was nice and welcoming except for her. She wanted me quick out of her office as soon as possible. This school is literally the worst, they take all day in the advising office and registration office. They will have one or two people helping more than 20 people and you would think that would make them have a sense of urgency but they do not. They all act as if they don’t feel like helping you and move so damn slow. I received 2 parking tickets during the time I have attended this school because two hours in a meter is not even enough. The best advisor is Shannon, the rest of them act like they don’t care and will not give you any guidance when your new to college, some will over talk you and not even pay attention or listen to what you are saying to them. This school will literally make you not want to attend college at all with how difficult they make the process. I am here at the college registering for my classes for the fall and have been here since 1:00 it is now 4:00pm smdh. If you plan on coming here make sure you have a whole day to spend here!!!! I had a meeting and asked for help and she said she couldn't help me for some reason…I ended up texting & emailing people for help but they eighter didn't reply or said they were going to help me but then ended up not communicating back. I managed to call tec support and they said website was down. Few days later they called me & said they were going to put me on a list and since then I haven't heard anything. I feel like putting a bad review I’m currently trying to see a councilor here at El Centro I came Thursday before 5pm and they told me it was closed but on the website they close at 5pm. Come to find out today a staff member told me they closed an hour early because they were having a spring break party. Today I’m trying to speak to an advisor I’m the only one here sitting in the lobby still waiting for someone to help me. I used to love this school but honestly service has gone down the drain. The moment I started at Amberton University it was already skeptical. I had a very hard time getting a hold of any advisor and no one seem to know how to answer my questions regarding finances. I went to the school for a few semesters and it was pretty easy and challenging. My last semester there was absolutely terrible. Professor Herring was has the worst communication skills and doesn’t know how to clearly give out instructions. I had to drop the course because she was unbelievably unprofessional. That’s where my issues had gotten worse. I spoke w it h the Vice President and president and they were not help. If you need anything fixed financially they will not help out in any way. My tuition was going to go to collection without even my knowledge of it. I received no notices and I was dealing with appeals at the same time. They were not recognized by the billing department. The woman I spoke with in the billing office spoke over me and had the worst customer service. Melinda, the president was not concerning for the student but more for the money going into her pocket. I don’t recommend attending this university at all. My previous professors were great but the minute you have a professor that doesn’t know what they are doing and you challenge them, they will get anything by they can to make sure you fail. I found Amberton while looking for a college to complete my second master's degree. I have an MS in Adult Education and wanted to get a more focused degree to advance my knowledge in the field I'm currently working in, which is faulty and staff professional development. I opted for AU because they are fully accredited, offer numerous online degrees, and are the most affordable of any college I found. The quality of education is excellent and I like that I can plan my classes well in advance. They post a master schedule that lists when each class will be offered during the year and often offer several sections of each class so you can choose the professor and text book you think is best for you. Admissions, registration, and student services couldn't be easier. They took many of the credits from my prior master's degree so I will be able to finish this one in 18 months (2 months left to go as of this writing). Payment plans make it easy to pay as you go without incurring debt. As a state technical college administrator, I often recommend AU to our faculty and staff. I would, without hesitation, recommend AU for anyone who wants a quality, accredited (regional accreditation is needed for credit transfer) higher education experience.Josh

She is very helpful and amazing! Ms. Anna is fantastic as well. I have met many professional students here. My Professors are all wonderful. I have never had any issue with any one of them. On the contrary, I have been receiving very amazing treatment. My classes were challenging, but not hard at all. I loved working on each and every assignment. They helped me in my OPT year. I was able to apply most theories and knowledge in my previous workplace. I was also able to obtain an acceptance letter from Texas A&M for my PhD. Everyone in this university is super respectful. I was truly blessed to find Amberton University and to accomplish one of my dreams here. It really is a nice facility. I have toured many nursing schools and I have seen better, but overall nice facility. What I am mad about is the service I received. They let me take the TEAS and then passed me on to sign up for admissions. I just wanted to know what kind of financial aid I could get but they said I had to go through the sign up process first. Everything went well until I got to financial aid. I couldn't afford it which was fine, I knew it was pricey. So I tried to cancel my application. I got passed around to 3 different people ALL trying to convince me to pay or get a private loan for 25,000. They even tried to make my parents feel bad for not helping me pay for school (which I'm okay with. I'm 22 years old. I can handle my stuff). They were pushy and not nice at all. I'm very much disappointed I signed up for an orientation with no direction on how to process the link. Usually when an email is sent the link will be there to click on or however this works. I simply expressed that it didnt work and I would reschedule I never have felt so much pressure to open a link, given the fact that it was already halfway through the meeting I felt it appropriate to reschedule. What turned me off wasnt re school itself it was the representation of an advisor for the company. West Coast will be a school I will attend just not this one. If anyone is going to advise me for that long of a period especially if I'm paying a high tuition i need to know that my advisor is supportive and that if i have a question it shouldnt be answered a irritating manner.m R

Dr. Anne is one of the most patient, caring, incredible human beings I have ever met in my entire life. She speaks and teaches from the heart. She has a way of communicating that not only makes you feel comforted and safe, but also pushes you to recognize things you may have wanted to hide. She said she is not accepting it because it’s to hard to bill. I understand money is important but you could’ve at least returned my call last week and told me that last week. Therapy can be intimidating. It's difficult to open up and work on your insecurities and weaknesses. My sessions with Anne Schanz were life changing. She not only creates a comfortable and positive environment, but she also maintains the perfect amount of support and understanding. She helps you examine conflict from different angles in a way that isn't confrontational, but eye opening. I definitely recommend this school, I started in August of 2019 hopeful that I would get my foot into the medical field and that’s exactly what they’ve helped me accomplish thus far, besides that I had set my mind to come to this school do my work, learn and go home and leave it at that but the staff at this school is incredible. I wanted to just get by here at PCI and go about my life and on my way but they really do care about you here and are very welcoming. Starting with my advisor Ali she made me feel so comfortable, when getting into something new you feel overwhelmed or scared but Ali made me feel like I could do it and helped me get started and my financial advisor Serena also helped me feel more than welcome. They encouraged me into student council and like I mentioned I was not interested in doing anything here at PCI besides my work and they pushed me to be more involved and I can’t thank them enough! They are truly a great team and they have great communication skills definitely the kind of people you want as your staff or to help you get your career started. My experience at PCI Health Training Center, has been more than what I could’ve ever imagined. The campus is full of genuine people from the students, to the instructors, and especially the staff. My advisor Diana, has made a tremendous impact on my journey here. She is helpful, sincere, compassionate, and always willing to listen and guide her students to the best of her ability. She shows +1 service towards her students as well as her fellow colleagues. Seeing an optimistic, always smiling, genuine face is always so refreshing. Her as mine and many others’ advisor was truly a blessing. She is what pushes us to come everyday with her above and beyond care for her students. The review statement is to share my experience at this organization and that is what I will try my best to do starting with the instructors. I completed my medical assisting program in March of 2021. When I started I had been working at a hospital for about four years so I knew a few things medical jargon and such. However some of my classmates knew next to nothing and most had just finished high school. The instructors took time to meet us at our current level and help us excel. They laid a foundation for us to learn in multiple ways and was very hands on through out the complete process. They really helped in any way they could and prepared us for our future positions. I have attended programs at the Dallas gem and it has always been very informative and inspiring. The program on the history of Uptown was phenomenal with a panel of passionate Dallasites well versed in the historical value of how Dallas is continuing to transition from a central Texas cowboy city to a modern metropolis attracting new residents from all over the world with Uptown being a hot bed of newbies. I also really liked the decor of African masks and old wood in this preserved house housing the Dallas Institute of Humanities considering it is amongst so many new high rises.Que at Curva Lish

Pate rehabilitation did an awesome job with helping me to walk and write again. After a hard fall and a week in the hospital, the therapists helped me graduate from wheelchair > walker > cane. I am now walking again with limited capacity. Recovery is a journey. Back in 1998/99, I had experienced a closed head injury. My Doctors back home didnt really know how to help me. After a procedure at Zale Lipsey hospital, i went to Pate. At first I was VERY agitated, but came to understand the situation. The staff could NOT have been more helpful and supportive! I have now gone through quite an adventure in my life, but had I not been a client at Pate, I shudder to think where and how I might be!Tim Nelson

Canceled an appointment because of covid-like symptoms and was given a 1K bill and told to go somewhere else for a visit. This was after it took a month just to get an appointment after the back and forth that had to happen to even get it. Nobody could clarify if I even had an appointment/my paperwork was completed and then I got a call out of the blue telling me to come in on MLK day at the last minute the very next monday. I tried my best but it was a really short notice and I happened to come down with covid-like symptoms that weekend. They don't appear to have enough staff for the prices they charge. I really expected much better business acumen on the part of the providers during a pandemic if you want people to physically come into your office and sit in front of your staff and risk themselves and others in the process. I would really take your money somewhere that isn't so all about the money in this field. They seem like they are just in it to make a buck and don't care about much else.Angel Durr

Dr. Michelle Kandalaft is treating me for Aspergers and severe OCD, she has helped me and my family through some trying events in my life. I would like to share an experience I had with NTXBH. It was an extremely positive one due to one individual. I would like to recognize Candice Peoples and thank her for going far above and beyond to help me. I reached out to her the day before the housing program was scheduled to end. She had a full caseload and multiple people in front of me. Due to unfortunate events I was resigned to stay in my car for a month until I could save money to get an apartment. In the meantime, my son had been staying with a wonderful family from his small school. I’m a single mom and have raised him on my own since he was 18 months old; we have never been apart this long. All of this to say that Candice on the last day of the program at 10 pm continued to work on my case and got the funding for a room so that I can now start my new job with confidence and good rest. Most importantly, I can have my son back with me. Her last email to me was around 11:30pm. Literally, Candice Peoples helped a complete stranger when she really didn’t have to. Her work week was done. She’s tough and compassionate. She is brilliant and knows her job; her work ethic is out of this world. All I can say is thank you and publicly acknowledge this woman for the asset she is to North Texas Behavioral Health. Individuals like Candice are people that change our world for the better. This place is terrible all it’s about is money. My husband is psycho schizophrenia they would not help him they sent him home after the 72 hours because he doesn’t have Medicaid or anything insurance my dad goes in for threatening to kill himself one time his whole life and they court order and want to keep him because he is a Medicaid it’s just about the moneyTalisha Spicer

"Crisis Hotline" phone service is slow and unresponsive. Over 24 hours since I called and I'm still waiting for somebody to call me back. I called back 4 times to see why there had been no call yet and each time the phone system put me on hold and then hung up on me. Don't call it a crisis hotline if you aren't going to take it seriously.Jeff Collins

The University of Dallas is a private Catholic university that offers its students a top notch liberal arts education. The Catholic identity at UD is very strong. With about 80% of the student population being Catholic, it’s a great place for devout Catholics to spend four years learning and strengthening their faith. That’s not to say that it’s only good for Catholics. I find quite the opposite to be true. One of my best friends at UD is a protestant, and she has never felt unwelcome or stifled at UD as a result of the Catholic identify. UD students are eager to embrace people of all sorts and engage in intellectual conversations about different points of view. No matter what denomination a student is or what beliefs they hold, they benefit immensely from a UD education because in their classes they learn fundamental truths about the human condition. All students are required to complete a core curriculum of classes that study texts that are fundamental to Western civilization, including works by Homer, the Greek playwrights, Dante, and Milton. UD also has a campus in Italy, just outside of Rome where students can spend an entire semester. The Rome semester is a perfect complement to the core curriculum, and the students get to travel both as a class and individually. I went to Germany, Spain, Ireland, France, Hungary, Greece, and different parts of Italy in the span of a semester. So students leave UD as well-educated, worldly people. These are the kinds of people you will find at UD. The social scene is not the same as one you would find at a huge public university. It’s a different atmosphere because the school is small, but there are tons of opportunities to have fun. UD has some awesome traditions and there’s live music on campus almost weekly. It’s not the place for everyone. The university is quick to admit that. Students at UD are dedicated to learning and thinking critically, along with enjoying life along the way. If that doesn’t sound like something you want to do, then UD is probably not for you. For students that want that, UD is a great place to be.Amanda Kitten

To say that the University of Dallas was just another college experience severely understates the plethora of opportunities and unforgettable moments that shared during my four years of undergraduate study. UD is an excellent Catholic liberal arts school in the heart of the DFW area. Each student has an unquenchable thirst for knowledge while also possessing a propensity for building fellowship, both academic and social. The full time faculty are required to obtain the highest degree in their field (most often PhD), thus ensuring the rigorous academic standards of which UD is so often known. While studying, I was blessed with the opportunity to study abroad in both Rome and Costa Rica, both expanded my intellectual horizons as well as fostered my personal growth as a young man. My fellow classmates helped push me to be the best version, intellectually and spiritually. The community here is something that lasts long after your four years. If you meet another Alumnus from the University of Dallas, you have met a friend for life.Tom Pierick

Though University of Dallas's student body is 80% Catholic, I have never regretted going here as a non-Catholic student. Contrary to what some of the reviewers below have written, professors and students for the most part are open to other ideas and beliefs. The professors here are excellent for the most part, though often difficult. UD's Rome program is rightly ranked one of the best in the nation, combining challenging and relevant academics with lots of travel time and great class trips in Italy and Greece. Camping in Ireland and Wales over Ten Day (spring break) with some of my buddies was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had as were our trips to Greece, Pompeii, and Poland among others. Overall I would say UD is great place for anyone who wants a thorough and excellent education in the liberal arts and who wants to get to see the world in one of the most fun contexts possible.Alex Macdonald

Brittany Escuriex, Ph.D is amazing. She was also so flexible in scheduling, hard to find. I will publicly say we went for couples therapy, and of course it was awkward af. She was so kind and took so much of that awkwardness away within moments. She can read and understand through so much and never makes it feel like "therapy" just a great listener with some occasional advice.
