A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . That being said she is the third professors that I had that sleeps walks through their class and I had another one that did something that weren't cool and I didn't show up for her class and never got an apology from her. Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. The only reason ppl go here and are willing to grossly pay for an education is the location. I went to school here and will say it is far overpriced for the education you are given. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Pace is expensive, doesn't help the students getting internships and when the students get one on their own, Pace takes the credit. After graduating, the students don't get a job. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? This is a good school. However, the quality is almost identical to the CUNY school I attended before coming here that costed significantly less. Additionally, the lack of diversity (granted, because of how this is a private school) is also lacking. The college has won multiple awards from the CUNY system as well as other institutions for its ability to grant Associate's Degrees at an impressive rate and to foster continuing education at senior colleges. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. Men lie, women lie, numbers don't; Berkeley College is one of the worst college in America. According to National Center for Education Statistics, the retention rate is 64 percent and the graduation rate is 30 percent. When people see these type of statistics, many people like to blame the students however in Berkeley College’s case, it’s not the students fault, it’s the school’s fault. One of the problems with Berkeley College is the financial aid. When you first come to Berkeley College, they promise you that you will graduate in 3 years however when you have to deal with the Financial aid it’s nearly impossible. Berkeley College operates on a Quarter System. And because Berkeley College operates on a Quarter system, the government can’t fund every quarter like Summer Quarter. This is a problem because students are force to pay large amount of money out of pocket. And if you can’t afford it, you have no choose but to drop the quarter and this will push back you graduation date. Berkeley College is so expensive and such a waste of money. If you’re coming from high school or another college, don't waste your money and your time. This school is not worth the tuition money you have to pay every year. You pay 30,000 plus (about $7,800 each Quarter) in tuition and with the new book policy, you will be forced to pay $300 out-of-pocket for books you will never use each Quarter. Word of advice, if you are looking for a college look somewhere else. If not be prepared to work at McDonald with a Bachelor or Associate degree.Andrew Owens

I had the worse college applying experience. This is for the Paramus NJ Campus. I was a prospective student. Unfortunately, I’m on temporary disability for now so I figured “why not go back to school to pursue my dreams?!”. Well, Berkeley admissions gave me a HORRIBLE experience. They stopped following up with me unlike other universities I applied to. No one knew what was going on in my admissions process. I gave this college money that THEY knew I didn’t have because of my disability because I wanted to attend. All of that for these fools to tell me they’re only accepting a portion of the credits I took for my associates degree. I am going to attend a prestigious university that knows what they’re doing and how to handle their prospective students. Putting effort into this college was WORTHLESS!!! Now a month later after my horrible experience the director of admissions Janine contacts me to stand up for her poor excuse of a staffs behavior. She called to say “sorry”. What kind of BS is that?! If I could put no stars I would. Okay so I was doing pretty well in the college at first all A's and B's everything was going great! Until I ended up having to help out with rent so I had to get a job, and being a mother also I am one of the few who would NOT want to put that much stress (job, kids, and school) on myself. So I call them and tell tell whoever (if only I remembered her name) my situation and how I won't be able to attend anymore, and she ends up asking me all these questions like why am I withdrawing and questions that shouldn't really be asked because she didn't even say it's policy or anything, she just wanted to know. So I tell her I'm starting my new job soon and she asked me the one question that just actually made me done with her, she asked, "Are you sure you're not able to do all 3?" as in all 3 she means taking care of my child, going to work, and going to school. Let that sink in. It actually made me even more frustrated because she was telling me that if I did now it would cost a lot to pay back, but listen if I have to withdraw I have to. There's no 'Are you sure you want to?' So they said they'd call and tell me the rest of the details so we can get through with the withdrawal process and I haven't gotten a call yet but what I did get was an attendance email from Outlook telling me that I won't be able for eligibility for my financial aid if I miss 14 days. Wow. So, I'm going to call them now because this is ridiculous and I do not have time. But if you do go to this school, please be careful. i know that other people will have a better experience or whatever. But this is not one of them.AiKitty Chan

I was excited to start my online career here. However the guy in admissions that was assigned to me was not for me. He was not personable at all I only spoke to him one time and that was for five minutes he never explained anything just said he will send me an email if assessments that was it never heard from him again I tried email him several times never received a email or a phone call until five day later stating to complete more assessments I had questions and he did not answer them . 1. They don’t offer free counseling to students. I can’t imagine a university not caring about their students mental health 2. The bus schedule to pick students up to bring them to the university is unclear and the coach for Soccer said she never sees it either 3. You don’t have a credit union. Many students don’t have credit and credit unions are a great/safe way to help students open up into that world. UW Green Bay has all of these things. When you’re looking for a job they don’t care if you go to a private college or not. Your experience trumps everything, so consider that before applying.Blue Lagoon

I am getting ready to graduate in May with honors from the AAS Paralegal Program at CALS and have had such a positive experience. Would give -5 stars if possible, these people are dishonest cheats , my husbad got intouch with them a few weeks ago and was told that classes were all in person , he went ahead and paid the tuition and was later sent online material . Ofcourse he reached out and was given BS but was later promised a REFUND VIA EMAIL It’s been almost 3 months now and no sign of the refund . Whenever we call to follow up they rudely hang up . They were very friendly when it was time to take our money but disgustingly unprofessional and impolite when this LIE put us all in an uncomfortable position. I currently attend the school. They have great teachers all attorneys. I enjoy their online courses especially. I currently attend an internship program that I am enjoying. Their textbook, the NY Paralegal Handbook is the best I've ever seen in paralegal studies. Each section of the book is excellently written. The practice tips are exceptionally helpful. I visited a lot of schools before I started here. NY paralegal offered more choices of schedules and law field specific courses. I strongly recommend them over all other paralegal programs which are overpriced I must say. I am very happy with my experience here.Josh James

I am a donor for Save the Children and have been since 2004. At first, I donated to them after the tsunami in Asia but I have donated every year since then because Save the Children is one of the most efficient charities in program to expenses ratio. I have learned since then that they not only provide emergency relief but also other non-emergency programs for children (like education) overseas and in the US, a fact I didn't know. They also appeal to me because they support all faiths and religions and not just one. Children are universal. I am a father of 2 kids and that is what made Save the Children appeal to me. Also, they are open and transparent with their communications and actively listen on social networks. I really like their ties designed with children's artwork. Too bad they don't make them anymore. Changed my card number three times and they still continued deducting, finally, I opened bank dispute and it worked. After losing my trust in Save the Children, and large nonprofits overall, I have found out that we don't have to use third party to help us with "helping" others (as, sadly, you never know how the money will be used and if it will be used as you intended). The reality is that there are too many people hurting right in front of our noses, who need our help, all we have to do is look. Only when you help directly, can you vouch that indeed your contribution helped someone.Faith Love

I gave for years to this Charity. Unfortunately I had to cancel last year because I left my job. I'm still in a precarious situation and recently realized 5 months ago they started charging me again without permission. When I call today they tell me I never canceled… They had no answer to why they had stopped for half a year only to "start" back up.I feel very scammed and I will never give to this charity again. When I'm in a better circumstance I will give to one that has a better history and one that has not ripped me off.Greg

Drive through graduation ceremony provided a way for graduates to walk across the stage and stay safe. The students who were working the event cheered each graduate as their car passed the workers (who held hand decorated signs). It could have been a bit better if the cars lined up in the parking lot rows were facing the stage, and if the sign directing students to turn to a particular radio station said it was necessary to turn the volume all the way up, as at louder than normal volumes, it was still inaudible (until you hit the top volume), so it seemed not to be working. That way students who had not yet walked across could see friends as their names were called on the radio. It would have been nice for students to see their professors lined up safely spaced too, as most were highly regarded by my student.Karen Munze

Schenectady County Community College is hands down the worst college experience I've ever had. I've dealt in depth with three colleges total in my time, and SCCC is far and away the most disorganized, over priced, and least helpful school out there. I've had professors not show up, I've had many show up late, and some weren't even sure what school they were teaching at. One mixed us up with HVCC! They love to double charge you for fees that they don't keep records of, and make it your problem. Point being, if you plan on going here hoping for a good experience, you won't get one. If you plan on becoming a chef, or professional sound engineer, it's an okay school. Anything else is a waste of money. I can't go lower that 5 stars, but if I could, I would.Derek Bateman

The staff and faculty go out of their way to ensure student success. UPDATE: Graduated Phi Theta Kappa with a 3.98 GPA while serving as president of the Student Government Association. Was awarded the Chancellor's Award and got accepted into UAlbany! None of that would have been possible without the support of staff and faculty here. My son is attending Marist going into his junior year. We are thrilled, and so is he, with Marist. Beautiful campus. Great Teachers and Faculty. I read here where some people complain about teachers not giving more time to their child. Seems this student was having a hard time and saw the teacher weekly and thinks the teacher let them down. Was told that they should consider a tutor and now blames the teacher for their failure. Teachers are not tutors. And maybe this student just wasn't cut out for their wanted profession. Another blaming security because their student lost a book. How is it the responsibility of security to find it if its not turned in? There's nothing they can do. Just because you're on a campus it doesn't guarantee success or all students are honest. It's the real world. Can't stand it when people blame others for their child's irresponsibility or inability to grasp a subject. My son's major is biomedical science as he wants to be a doctor. Last years class on organic chemistry "is the weeding out class." 80% of the students either drop out on their own or the professor speaks with them to encourage them to find another profession because their failing. If my son was told that, I'm not blaming the professor. He'd have to accept that it's not for him and to find another profession. Nobody said life's fair. So take responsibility for yourself. If you are looking for a real estate lawyer I cannot recommend Bridget Schultz enough. We had many issues with closing on our house from the sellers and she did a fantastic job navigating those issues and being extremely transparent with me and where we were at in the process. She did everything possible to make sure that we would be covered legally when we finally got to close on our home.
