My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I am thankful for you all. Anyone who wants to go to college for Business or just in general, go to SJVC. They got you covered and they support your every step and decision. They help you become ready for excellency and, help you find a job that you will love and if that job doesn't work out for you they will go over and above to help you succeed and find a position you want and love. I am currently in the vet tech program( just finished term 1 and starting term 2) here are a few things I wish I knew about the program before I started. UPDATE!!! STRONGLY suggest getting your generals done else where!!! Almost done with term 2 and Looking back, the program would be soo much easier if you were just taking the vet core classes. Seriously.. if you are really thinking about going here fresh out of high school and think you are going to be fine with the work load you are in for a rude awakening.. just please take my advice and get your generals done somewhere else. You will actually enjoy your time here if you are just taking the vet core classes because the vet related classes and the generals work load at the same time is extremely stressful because again you will be taking roughly 20 credit hours( that’s general classes and vet core classes) AND the material is very rushed. -curriculum is extremely rushed -instructors are a hit or miss (3/5 instructors were really great and knew what they were talking about and we’re able to explain really well, other 2 did not know the material and did not know how to effectively teach/explain/ or answers any questions about the material they were teaching. Pretty much had to self teach in both classes) -the parking situation is a hot mess. Parking on campus is extremely limited and the street parking is a joke. -The remediation assignments (Student services assigns you an extra assignment on top of your homework in whatever class for being 15+ minutes late or missing the class or leaving 15+ minutes early ie. Handwritten 100 bullet points on the slides of the power point you missed. The instructor then has to sign off on it and you turn it into student services no later than 1 week of the absence/tardy) is extremely unnecessary and just adds more stress. -But all in all still a better program than any of the other schools I was looking into before I started the program. I’m still loving what I am learning about and the hands on labs are amazing. My classmates and I are extremely close and working together and helping each other study is a must to succeed in every class. If you do find yourself struggling there are so many resources the school provides to help you ie. free tutoring from a peer tutor, tutoring from your instructors per request via emailing them. Scheduling an appointment with the Student success coordinator (helps you plan your study schedule and helps with testing stragies). Just know this is a tough program because it’s rushed and you WILL be taking anywhere from 12-20 credits hours. ( this is decided based on if you have transfer credits from other colleges ie. math 1010, Biology1010, college writing, etc. I was taking 20 credit hours. I did not choose this, your schedule will be chosen for you by the school) and you will be eating, living and breathing veterinary medicine for the next 2 years. ( also I want to add that it is STRONGLY recommended that you DONT have a job. At least in 1st term. In orientation they go more in-depth about this. A lot of my classmates including myself quit our full/ part time jobs after 1 month in the program because it was too much) If this is something you think you can handle then it is definitely worth it!Kaitlyn Hart

This school has all the technology you could ever want, and provides a lot of support. I wish I could have afforded to go there. That’s the only downside, is the really high price. I should add, the price is high for a reason. They buy top of the line technology to teach their nurses and vet techs (those are the only things I’ve seen myself, and I am 100% sure they put the money into their other programs, too.) My current financial situation makes the school unaffordable, but the price is 100% worth it. I was going to make myself afford it until I was told about a deposit. I WAS shocked by the $400+ deposit they required during orientation (for the LVN program.) I wasn’t told about it except less than a week before orientation. There was really no iltime for me to prepare. My financial aid advisor, Vanessa, was AMAZING and tried everything to make the school more affordable. My academic advisor, Nikia, was the BEST. She really helped to make me feel comfortable and helped teach me more about the program.Jessica Laroche

The program I was in (vet tech) was great for the most part! However there was a lot of bumps in the 2 years and disorganization when I was there. Teachers were a hit or miss you could get a great one and would love that class, or you would get one you dreaded and never wanted to go to class. Being the first class to graduate from that program we didn't get all the amazing equipment that the students have now. This program over all is a great experience because when you are struggling or need help you can find teachers always doing tutor sessions or the LRC always is willing to help you learn things as well. they are doing the best they can to make sure things run smoothly from now on. I would recommend this course now because it seems like things will run smoother now that they learned from passed mistakes with my class.Allison Kunic

The administration is not interested in offering equal access to education for parents who are looking to get one. The college is not interested in reestablishing the on-campus child care center. Also the administration knew the science building chemistry hoods were not functioning properly for years and never let students know. The professors are incredible but if you are a mother good luck because the college doesn't care that in order to access education, women with children (those who require an education for a chance to improve their children's future!) need some equitable student services. Don't take my word for it scroll through the reviews. Most reviewers are male even though majority of students who attend the college are women. Read into it what you will but the facts remain that the college has a child care center on campus but refuse to renovate it even though property taxpayers agreed to pay for it (measure g 2004).Melissa Martinez

The college incorrectly listed me as a non-California resident. When I attempted to fix this, I found that I could not get in touch with ANYONE from the business offices. Eventually, they started having a debt collector call me because I wanted to sort out the residency issue so that I would not be charged nearly $1000 for my classes. This has been going on for months now, I attempt to call their offices almost every week and no one answers me. I'm beginning to suspect that they are just trying to force me to pay the non-resident fee so that they can get some extra cash. All in all, I have had a horrible experience with the administrative services, and if I could get on the line with anyone, I would have been happy to have paid the appropriate tuition months ago.Laura Israel

Overall, the colleges is good. However, other colleges are doing much better. $ stars for the efforts in trying to become better. Recently they have started to work on the new Gymnasium building. Teachers and professors are good but they are very diverse. The teaching style of all the teachers differ and they might not be ok with everyone. So choose your class wisely. Overall the crowd is good but sometimes you might find some not so friendly people. I am not sure about the safety. I think financial aid is run by Dr.Seuss. It’s a literal circus. They barely answer the phone and Stacy is brutal. I think she wrestled in the WWE. I simply and politely asked about my financial aid app and she punch me in throat so hard I started singing Ave Maria. I didn’t even know I knew the song. Oh and Brenda in records punched me in my chest so hard my shoulders clapped. She was pretty adamant about me not transferring. Do not step on campus without your PPO being updated.Donovan Bradshawe

This is a great university with students from all around the world, very beautiful buildings, gardens and sport facilities. It was a fantastic experience to study there for an year and enjoy such a nice atmosphere. Just be aware that you need a car to travel in weekends, for Riverside itself does not have many attractions, though it's a cozy city.Michael Rachid

Beautiful campus. So green. I love the Eucalyptus trees. It’s quiet in certain areas and social in others when students are around. A little something for everyone. Nice pathways for both walking and cycling. There are benches all around the campus to provide ample sitting areas to either just rest or to study with solar powered charging stations.Sajleen

If you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or Cal University.Cody

I have been trying to see a counselor, and so far I have come to the counseling department more than five times. Anytime I went there, they said that there are a lot of students so go come back tomorrow at 8:00 am. When I went there at 8:00 am the next day, they said oh we don't do walk ins, you can go today, but for tomorrow give us a call to confirm if there is any counselor available. I did call them the day before coming they said yes come around 8:00 am you will for sure see a counselor, I got there at 8:00 am, but unfortunately again they said that there are a lot of students and they only have one counselor. I don't know what game do they play with students, I missed going to work for 3 days, and it seems that I might not be able to take any classes this summer just because of not being able to see a counselor. I request the authorities of this nice college to pay attention to this problem, and find some possible ways of solution since the students need to have updated Educationan Plans.Tawfiq Sediqi

This college is a freaking mess and very unorganized!!!! Fist visit, they told me counseling was open until 4:30pm. Got there at 3:34pm and said they stop at 3pm. They told me to come back tomorrow and they will do counseling till 4pm. I got early from work the nex day, and when I get to the counseling office, they said they are not doing counseling today! They tell me to come back tomorrow. They couldn't take appointments because they were too busy that week. I come back the next day, my job let me get off early again, when I get to the counseling they tell me their system is down! They tell me to come back on Saturday for the event. They tell me counseling and student services will be open. I'm here at the counseling at 10am, they freaking tell me no counselors today, they are only taking picture for IDS !!!! This is the worse experience I had. Very unprofessional, not organized!!!! I'm very upset!!!!!Miriam Gal

I'd like to think that because of Covid, there is a lack of help from this college. I have been trying my very best for the last month to do everything myself without the help from any employees at this college. I have not been contacted regarding how to get enrolled, registered, what classes I need, financial aid, etc. I have been struggling since I have submitted my application to this college. You basically have to figure out everything on your own which isn't hard for me to do because I was walked through the steps from my previous college who actually took the time to help me out. While I understand quite a few things, there are some things that I don't understand and that I have questions about but getting into contact with anyone at this college is very difficult. Even through emails, no one responds. This college lacks the skill for helping their future students. I believe that I have done everything necessary in order to be a student but getting in touch with a counselor is the biggest problem. Making an appointment with a counselor via zoom, is quite a struggle and I have messaged quite a few employees at the college but yet, I still haven't received any responses. I am about to give up and just try somewhere else although this college is very convient for me, it's not worth the struggle and hassle at this point. 😔Mary McDonald

Great atmosphere. Their financial aid office needs help though. I started my fasfa around May and I'm trying to get in for the fall. I sat down with the students that help you with the fasfa form online so I don't do it wrong. I had to wait for them to approve it. They told me to bring my parents IRS info, even though I used the retrieval tool. I had to do a dependent verification form. Turned in copies of those. Then asked for my W-2. Then they asked for another verification form. Just constantly asking me for things I turned in. It sometimes takes them weeks to let you know what's next. So I learned the hard way the previous year that they ask for these forms every semester. They didn't tell me until I was applying for another semester. First year student trying to figure them out. I lived in El Cajon when they were asking for forms making this process extra annoying. Apparently they had to restart the process for the new semester. Don't ask me why but this is the most annoying part of school. I advise making multiple copies of whatever they ask for IRS FORMS, W-2, AND TAX INFO. They'll ask for it next semester and start it months before to avoid lines. I'm grateful there is a financial office though or school would be ROUGH! Thank you. EDIT: THEY MOVED TO A 270PERSONAL

City College is represented by the San Diego transit people, MTS, as City College Trolley Station, a cave, possibly Plato's, remarkable for grime and an expansive range of social behaviors not common in the quiet halls of ivy and higher education. The City College Trolley Station, is, of course, the gateway of San Diego's always expanding skidrow that could be seen as starting here and continuing to 25th and Commercial. San Diego and the real estate community promotes skidrow as being the East Village, but it's not really so much a village as it is a refugee camp. And it is getting bigger every day and will one day engulf all of downtown and possibly as far into the neighborhoods as Hillcrest and North Park. I was very happy with Kris Jackson she did my tour and always answered me when I had any questions. I started in January of 2021 still in the mist of COVID. I had a good experience, be prepared NOTHING IS EASY you have to study study study. I feel like most of the teachers there really do want to see you do good and will genuinely try to do a lot to help. I struggled a lot but there is always tutoring and someone willing to help. With every school comes drama that has nothing to do with school but just to know. There’s a lot of commitment when signing up so just know what your getting yourself into. The school teaches you a lot you need to know and has plenty of resources if you need more help. Only thing I wish I knew was more things that we could’ve been taught for the “real world” like a lot we get taught we need to know but there is some small things we have to know like trying to find veins by ourself or little tricks other than that I had a good experience. I would recommend if you are able to commit to a long hard program it is very rewarding in the long end.Emily Pham

As a former graduate of VTI and soon to be practicing veterinarian medicine for about a year I cannot thank the staff and mentors enough for caring and teaching me the skills that I use in everyday practice. They were always so thoughtful and there when you needed a helping hand wether it was something as big as tutoring before all classes started or as small as just small words of advice to keep students going through the program. The classes are geared towards exactly what you need to know and all the teachers seem to be very knowledgeable in which subjects they teach. If you are as lucky as me throughout the program you may even adopt your own 4 legged bestfriend you met during kennel duty!! 🙂Haidyn Craig

The Vet Tech Institute is an incredible school that teaches the reality of the animal career field. It teaches self discipline, personal instinct to trust, and an incredible amount of respect for the workers in any animal field. The staff are so incredibly patient and truly show their passion to teach and to love the animals we work with on an everyday basis. Being able to work with animals everyday in class only better creates a self confidence that has to be grown. This review is for the Pharmacy Technician program at the San Marcos, CA campus, taught by Mrs. Becker. I am a graduate and was taught by Mrs. Becker. A 5-star experience. Mrs. Becker is passionate about teaching her profession. She truly cares about her students – she strives to get to know them, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and works with them to get them to success. The class meets for 4 hours per day, 5 days a week in a clean, modern classroom. I found it to be a safe, welcoming, and diverse environment. Really important for me: Mrs. Becker not only has outstanding integrity and professional credentials, but also a sense of humor! An actual pharmacist, who is wonderfully approachable, experienced, and caring, Mrs. Baca, comes in to teach certain classes, and substitutes for Mrs. Becker when needed. Together, they make a great team. A broad range of subject matter is covered, for example, math, law, pharmacology, customer service, and "hands-on" preparation of prescriptions (using mock ingredients of course). The program enabled me to get my state Pharmacy Technician license AND earn a certificate in sterile compounding before I even graduated! If you complete the program, you'll definitely be a competitive candidate in the job marketplace.Charles Griffin

As a former student in PIMA's OTA program, I can say that the OTA students probably have the most fun out of all the programs! The campus is really nice and located next to alot of resturaunts, which made getting lunch easy. Since the campus is fairly new all the OTA equipment is new and in good condition. Additionally, OTA labs were always engaging and applicable when working with actual patients during FW. Classes were a bit fast-paced, however, this is an accelerated program. Additionally, all the instructors were amazing and have great experience within different areas of OT which stood out in their ability to teach certain subjects. They also went out of their way to ensure that every student was successful in this program, which I appreciated. Occupational therapy is an amazing career that is versatile and allows you to specialize in different areas such as neuro, pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics, etc. It is a rewarding career that challenges you as a practitioner to think outside the box to ensure the best health outcome for your patients while looking through a holistic lens. If this sounds like a career that you are interested in, I would definitely look into joining PIMA's OTA program.melanie chhea

Currently enrolled in the respiratory therapy program and have had a great experience so far. The instructors go above and beyond to make sure we have what we need, with constant check ins for students. Everyone is there to help, all you need to do is ask and there’s full transparency. Pima Medical Institute in Chula Vista, CA has been a great educational experience for me. After completing their Vet Tech program, I feel confident in the skills I have learned & fully prepared to enter the animal medical field with a solid knowledge base. Love this school the teachers are amazing, specifically Ms J and Ms Perez in the dental assisting program they have been such a big help for me throughout my schooling here at Pima, they also helped me with my first dental assisting job and I was able to get paid during my extern thanks to them 🙂 I also would like to mention Mrs. Martha she was also very nice to me and helped me with my extern very professional as well. A a Veteran transitioning to civilian life choosing a field and school was not easy. Upon researching schools for Electrical and reading reviews I chose Intercoast College Riverside due to their accreditation from the State and VA and great reviews. For those who are fellow Veterans I recommend this school due to the following. Intercoast was very informative and is a certified school by the state and VA. When I first started in January Pre-COViD and attending school everything was at a nice pace, we did lecture one day and practiced the next day what we went over for our lecture. The school supplied us with everything we needed to my surprise not cheap tools or limits when using product such as wires or devices to make connections. The simulations they have are small scale meant to build confidence when you do enter the field. When we transferred over to online the school did not disappoint with the lessons and virtual labs. I personally love being hands on but they made do with what was given to them. The instructors I had were seasoned Masters of their field not inexperienced instructors you might see somewhere else. My current instructor for the main Electrical course Ricardo Barrow and Antonio Tristan who I want to say have 60+years of experience and the introduction to the field Jason Ashbaugh who I might say has 20+years in the field introduced us to the basics of Electricity and construction. They have really gone above and beyond in trying to prepare us and giving us the proper critiques and corrections in order to learn not in demeaning ways but as mentors. Mayra De Leon who is my student success partner has been instrumental in my success dealing with transferring to hybrid online and getting everything I needed to stay successful with reminders and checking in to make sure we are not having issues with the course. Andrew De Luna who is the Career service coordinator has been a great help, he has gone above and beyond making sure that I received certifications that I have completed, for this reading this you will get your OSHA 10/CPR, and Electrical Trainee Card during this course on top of other certifications that will make you a competitive applicant. Over all I look forward to finishing, but will leave with a bittersweet taste due to leaving such great people and support.Alejandro Montoya

If you are looking for a hands on, approachable and knowledgeable staff and an outright outstanding education ( I studied alcohol and drug counseling) you are making a wise choice in researching ICC for your future. The administration worked with my personal concerns, financial aide was a breeze, and career counseling was diligent in finding myself an internship and possible future career. (i'm interning now). I am a chpt. 33 VA student and everything has been nothing less than exemplary. And i've been to other schools. ICC will stand with you in your education. My instructors have become my colleagues. I attended this place an i will say it was a complete scam. Paid 20k in student loans and took a year course in electrical. We literally bent conduit twice they basically just give you a couple of books and waste your time. Only reason I learned anything was because i read the book. Nothing hands on seems they where hesitant to buy anything for the students to work on. They have a hvac course and we didn’t have AC for months it was hell in those rooms it was boiling. I brought a personal fan but when its 90 in a room in southern California desert during summer it doesn’t do much. Paid to get cooked out at this dump i would give 0 stars but i have to leave oneloudog92377

The worst group of teachers & counselors I have ever experienced. When a student has trouble passing classes they take over and over and over…says something about those teachers. Recently one of our dogs was howling in pain, struggling to walk, and had several seizures. Preparing for the worst as she is 16, I called in a panic and was able to bring her in right away. She was diagnosed with a back/neck injury, she likely fell or slipped on our hard floors. The vet took great care examining her, discussing possible diagnoses, and developing a treatment plan. A few days after treatment began, she acted as if nothing ever happened. We are so grateful.Lisa Cameron

I have an 18 year old cat he hasn't been feeling well so we took him here & the staff was so understanding & caring. My spunky is not a friendly cat towards people that he doesn't know, so when they tried to get blood work he let them know they would not be getting any blood from him. We ended up having to sedate him. He threw up in the room twice they were concerned & took him right back to the Dr. This place is amazing & I would recommend it to my friends & family.Julie Trembley

Dr. Laura and her staff are wonderful. We switched to them in January 2021 after 8 hours on the phone trying to find somewhere that could take in our dog for an emergency surgery he needed. I had totally forgotten about Not Just 4 Paws until I looked at the local map. So close to home, how could I have forgotten them? They switched their schedule around and saved our Rudy's life. I was part of Sabio cohort 118, as part of Veterans Affairs new VetTec pilot program. Pros: Extremely nice teachers – who are patient and they work with you to get things going, they encourage you to ask questions. I (obviously) don't have issues expressing myself, so it was fine, but I find that others who are more camera shy or question shy were able to ask questions. Enough alumni who were hired. We would have a lot of alumni return and talk to us via zoom session, in a meeting. It was odd because we would literally had to pause what we are learning in order to listen to how someone got their job, repeatedly. what they struggle with, but after 3 or 4 people, you heard the same answers. Keep asking questions Keep going over the exercises. Reach out to people in LinkedIn. These are actually really great sound advice for every and any industries, but I'm not sure we had to listen to it each week. One week, they had the prior cohorts show us a demo of a project they built. My friends who participated in Sabio last year said, the project was cool, but most people did such little on it. I failed an assessment, then another one. I was told it's okay as long as I get to figure it out. Vettec requirement according to Sabio said since I'm on academic probation, I am released from the program. But I was told I can continue if I get a loan or if I use my other VA benefits such as the GI Bill, chapter 35 or Voc Rehab. Videos are – hands off, from someone who studied film and worked in production, just bad. I'm not talking in production value. I'm saying it's not that affective. For example, we learn how to code "Hello world!" which seems to be a coding standard when it comes to easy samples, then the assessment would be something definitely different from what we have been doing in our classwork, or the exercises. I might not be smart but I have three degrees and working on the 4th one, so I know I'm not stupid. It's just recorded zoom session. Follow along, then you get an assessment. I met a few friends who said they graduated and they didn't get jobs, and they felt like they didn't really learn anything. they tell us, it's designed for us to go search for things. But I was research assistant for a nonprofit then a fairly large company. Why not teach us how to research? I felt that they were either overwhelmed with the number of students. Being on the Q waiting list in the beginning felt like I was at the DMV. I definitely know more about coding and JavaScript now than I did before summer of 2022 started. Not recommended for everyone. Definitely not recommended for someone paying out of their pocket. I would definitely talk to them and make your own decisions. Most people I interacted with in Sabio were extremely pleasant. I am glad I made a lot of friends as well. I wish well for them. If you are interested in coding, definitely check out w3 school, or javascript by doing a google search. Watch some YouTube Videos, and have a strong purpose of joining. That would not only give you a better understanding of what you want to do.Tae Yoo

I was part of C60 sabio, when signing up with Sabio there were statistics of how great their program was and how they helped a substantial amount of graduates find jobs once the cohort was completed. Unfortunately for my cohort and myself this wasn’t the case. Out of the 12 members of cohort 60 less than half of us are in a full time coding position. Our instructor for the cohort was seemingly pushed out near the end of our time which left us with hardly any help for job prospects and assistance. Since our instructor who had worked with us on a daily basis was gone, there was nobody left who could truly speak for us with potential employers. I have since found employment in a field unrelated to coding but sadly am still left with $20,000 of student loan debt that was used to fund a course that ended up offering no value to me in my career. Recently, Sabio sent a survey to track where recent cohort grad were in their professional lives so they could use people working full time in marketing. I requested to not be part of their marketing as their course did not help me and have since been removed from their slack channel that was promised to stay open for alumni as an extra resource. They now have a program in place that requires no money upfront but instead they will take a portion of your salary once fully employed. Lucky for those new students who want to take the risk but for me and many of my cohort members, Sabio left us in debt with no help to actually find a coding career. EDIT: Responding to the owner. I never once went to an interview without a clean shave and a suit, I was business major in college trust me I know how to dress for an interview. Actually I even wore full suits for the practice interviews we had in class. As for the former alumni, I saw the email I sent to him while cleaning my inbox and he didn't even give me the time of day. He said he didn't believe I had enough of a finance/accounting background but when I asked him to let me show my knowledge I was given no further responses. Funny that I am about to sit for my comprehensive CPA exam but your amazing alumni connection gave no help or even took the time to get to know me and my skills. Overall a decent course but being $20,000 in debt over something that has proved worthless since I wouldn't let them use me for marketing purposes is rough.Justin Richard Verducci

Responding to the Owner Liliana Aide Monge. Thank you for your quick response. Assuming I want to take this class just for my personal knowledge is completely false. When I spoke to Mr. Ali, I made it clear I was in the near future, giving up my current career and wanted to attend Sabio full time for a career change. My current career in the span of 10 years had me traveling the world so giving up all that just for personal knowledge just wouldn’t make any sense. I do understand Sabio is committed in helping recent graduates find jobs. But isn’t it just as important for the recent grad to do their due diligence in searching for work on their own? Maybe I have a friend with a tech company overseas and all that is asked of me is to gain the knowledge and I’d be hirable. What would it matter if Sabio or the recent grad found the job first? All that would matter is the gained knowledge from Sabio and the employment. Telling a person they can’t attend just because of their location is beyond me. If this is all online what should it matter? I have the same access to internet and information as anyone stateside. I requested a call from admissions and it didn’t go as I thought it would. There’s a time difference between my current location and Sabio, obviously I new this before. I was told that Sabio requires all future students to be stateside. For a school calming to be veteran friendly, it seems as admissions isn’t privy to know a lot of vets take live online classes all over the world. I was also told it’s an intensive 12 hours a day class, again something I was already aware of. This was said, I feel in favor of admissions telling me the requirements are for students to be stateside and somehow it’s more convenient. If it’s online why should it matter where the student is live-streaming from? If I have the internet access and the willingness to adapt to the time zone, why should Sabio tell me whether or not I can attend? I am a working registered dental hygienist who graduated from Carrington College back when they were at their previous location relatively close by on San Ignacio. I can't speak for the program now since alot has probably changed in terms of administration, but our program director Sherry Heaney, department of hygiene staff, and supervising doctors were all great and provided us with excellent, rigorous education. We had a very thorough clinical and classroom education there at Carrington which allowed my graduating class to pretty much all go through the program and pass our National and regional boards for hygiene. The cost for the programs I will admit is a bit pricey as it is a private tech school, but they do have loan options. I just recently paid off my student loans after working part time for 3-4 years as a dental hygienist. Also keep in mind that the program was only about 1.5 years full-time vs the 2 years you would expect to go through from one of the renown lottery local community college programs at foothill, Diablo, etc. By all means if you are lucky enough to get into those programs go there as you will save a ton of money, but education-wise my education was on par with those schools. After we graduated I received many phone calls checking up on me to ask if I had been employed yet, so they do seem to check up on how we were doing after going through the program. If you are coming into this clinic as a patient, understand that this isn't a dental practice. Carrington makes nothing from having you come in for their essentially free treatment. They don't "prey" on people without dental insurance because Carrington receives no benefit from you coming into the department for treatment, and rather it is more of a service to you and the local community. That being said, you will be treated by STUDENTS and their only gain from you will be clinical experience. Treatment planning and the amount of time you spend in the clinic will also be ALOT longer than it would be if you were to go to a dental office. I'm talking about a few days of you coming in for appointments vs an hour at a dental office. To Nichole's review, since I can't directly respond to your review: I am unaware of how your periodontal health was before treatment but most likely you had gum disease. If you are having gum recession after treatment that you didn't expect, then I am afraid maybe you didn't have enough patient education. That is something that just happens if you have gum disease and receive treatment for it. Your gums recede because they are swollen initially and you already have bone loss around your teeth. Once they firm up they will naturally recede to match your bone levels. As a practitioner it triggers me when the patient blames the doctor or staff for the patient's own negligence even though as practitioners we have the heart to basically do charity work for them. It is sad that you feel entitled to free treatment and then blame your healthcare provider. Just my two cents here.Unsullied Roarrior

Hi my name is Jessylynn I am from Philippines, migrated here USA 2009, I know in myself that my passion in Dentistry will stop but by year 2016 I met former student of Carrington College, she’s working a Dental Hygienists now. Thanks to her because she encourage me to go to go back to school and try to inquire. The staffs in Carrington College are friendly even the janitor and security guard and front desk. I remember the first day doing my inquiring in this school, I met Troy he was my enrollment advisor! He’s so nice, funny and cool! I like him! I like how he help me and my friend to get this in the program. He extends his arm to help you for what you need to get in the program and take note I don’t have money, nor credit score or anything financial. It’s true that the private school is so PRICEY! I can’t blame or complain about it because it’s private school and you’ll graduate in 1.5 years not including pre req. Troy explained everything about it, how you’ll pay and how much you’ll pay. Honestly, I didn’t know what I’m doing but with the help of Carrington College staff I would say I owe them from what I became now because they helping me to make my dream come true even you don’t have money for now, it’s like get your degree and pay later! I am now in Term 2 in Dental Hygienist Program! Carrington College of Dental Hygiene Program Department’s environment is peaceful. The faculty are very friendly. This the place where you can learn many things. I honestly can say, their way of teaching is not intimidating, they work harder just to make sure their student doing a good job especially in the clinic, your practice skills (oh, a lot of COMPETENCY, which is to test your skills, if you failed then they’ll teach you until you get it) and lecture. I love how they focus on your hand skills, your ergonomic (protecting your back, I don’t even know that!) BASIC is life! They teach you not only to learn how to treat patient but they care also for you to love the job so you’ll not injure your overall health! Mrs. Clark is the one who welcomed us in this Program, she’s so gentle when she talk and I love her teaching in Radiology subject and not only her you’ll love. All the DH department staff are friendly and funny that what’s make me go to school everyday and excited to LEARN. They’re all knowledgeable, professional, and they will not stop failing you until you get the PERFECT skills, they’re not judgmental they’re always asking “DO YOU HAVE QUESTION?”. One of our Instructor said “MISTAKE IS A OPPORTUNITY”. I realized being perfection is not what make you GREAT! I don’t wanna brag everything but their teaching reached my beyond expectation. This particular location has some very wicked women working in positions they’re obviously not qualified to work in. If you’re a woman of African descent, they work so hard to keep you down and out of the programs, if the salary will start at a healthy rate. Yet they’re pretty rude and condescending to EVERYONE! They try to intimidate the students for having questions. They’re very unsupportive and unprofessional. They will gang up on you, knit pick with you, hold unnecessary bully like meetings with you, etc. these women can’t handle the responsibility that their position Carrie’s . They’re old as Medusa and have the audacity to mock an older student. It’s a shame that after all that women have been through overtime , these women believe that it’s their job to try and hold another woman back. I had a heart issue due to a medication I had taken while I was a student there. I was admitted into the hospital, and still managed to attend my class the following day from my hospital bed. These women verbally attacked me in private the first day I returned to campus. I was still weak from being ill, which caused me not to be able to properly defend myself. Fortunately, I was able to record the second attack—all because I inquired about what the protocols would be in the event that students became ill with covid. They wanted to meet with me again privately, the meeting took approximately 1 hour, yet my question was never answered. Instead they brought up all kinds of other silly things, while gazing at me like I was an experiment. There’s a lot more I have to say about this campus and it’s Surgical Technology Director, Lab instructor, and the Director of Student Services. They behaved like pure monkey’s.Tara Newton-Bailey

The teachers here are amazing and wonderful and do not get enough credit for all the little things they do. I was in the vet tech program. All the instructors for vet tech actually are RVT which is cool, cause they have seen so many things and worked in the field for so long, they are all so very knowledgeable. Most of the employees who worked in the office are also very helpful and kind. No one in the entire Carrington College Pleasant Hill location regarding faculty (including staff, office workers, janitors and teachers) gets the recognition they deserve. Everyone i met in the time during my program all went above and beyond what they were paid to do or had to do because the instructors and teachers really care about you and really want you to reach your goals. Any problems or issues you may be having the teachers will always help you or they will find someone who is better equipped to help and understand your issues or problems. The 2 years i spent here because thats how fast you can get your degree and diploma in a 2 year period went back so quick and i would completely do it again. All the teachers have there own way of giving you the information you need but it is your job to study it. My teacher was awesome so there were times when the teacher would stay later then needed just to help me and other studys or review any information that we werent completely comfortable with yet. It's nice to know that the staff, instructors and teachers really want you to know this information and will not get pass anyone who doesnt know there information. You get to work with so many beautiful animals both which students, and teacher bring in from there homes as well as the labs we attend to practice on larger animals such as horses and cows. It was all just one big thrilling event. All teachers, instructors and staff deserve a raise for the wonderful things they do just on a daily basis to help others that goes unnoticed. During my time here at the Carrington College Pleasant Hill campus i also worked there as a student worker. All staff members are overworked and underpaid. The higher up management people who get paid to do a job that they pan off on the others who are lower in ranked get all the opportunities as well as all the recognition for things they have no part in. I have seen multiple people quit or be fired for what others have done which is not right. The CEOs or whomever is at the top and makes the decision for everyone under them needs to pay more attention to there employees and actually realize what they are doing and know what they are worth. The instructors and teachers do not work here because of the pay or recognition that they so rightfully deserve and need, NO. They work here because they love the people here, because they love the students here, it's because they love what they do and they want us students to make sure we love it to. They do not want us paying so much money and taking all these classes if it is not something we actually want and like to do and are good in it. If all the little dogs got paid more and well enough as well as proper trainer for new employees and not just throwing them to the wolves making them feel overwhelmed and adding boatloads of paperwork to a single person already under stress and having a shoulder looked over every minute wondering if they are messing up because no one was there to properly train them, then the employees at carrington college pleasant hill campus would probably stay longer and would not leave due to things being mislooked at. This is the third vet in a year that I have taken my dog to and I was really happy with our experience. My dog is very large, and the last vet I took him to didn't seem to know how to deal with a dog this size. He's 13 months and currently weighing in at 135 lb. To top it off he's pretty nervous in the vet setting (as most dogs are). The vet and tech handled my dog really well and were patient with him and his nervous wiggling. I appreciated that the vet took the time to explain to me what was going on with my dog and the options for care. I felt my pup was well cared for and everyone I interacted with was kind and gave me all the information I needed. I will be happy to make the 40minute drive from my house to continue bringing my big boy here. Their wellness plan was suggested but there definitely wasn't any pushing. They explained the benefits and gave me a pamphlet and said if I wanted to I could sign up at any time. I already have good pet insurance so I don't need it, but I appreciated the way it was presented to me, and it's great they have the option!Miyuki Sisson

We absolutely loved our experience. Vanessa was so amazing. I loved the way she interacted with our dog, Zo. She spoke to him and interacted with him just as if he were a human at the doctor. For some reason, I really like that when they treat the dog like they have feelings too and they’re scared to be there. I don’t know if I explain that very well, but I just love the way she interacted. Then Dr. G came in, and we loved her also. She had some big shoes to fill because we are big fans of Dr. Lindsay. The staff is nice, but it was a long wait time for check in (1 hour). I had to fill out forms twice and they were texting the wrong number even though they previously contacted me at the right number. Aside from that my dog stayed for 4 days and seemed to be well taken care of, which is all I really cared about. The prices are reasonable too. You also have the option to get the required vaccines during the boarding stay. I would board my dog here againKimberly Grayson

I was very interested in beginning a career in the medical field and and when I inquired I was introduced to Dena and she was extremely helpful with everything i needed to know and answered all my questions, she helped me with enrolling, and it was a breeze. I like the vet doctor's are so nice and also some of the Receptionist too. Another then that everyone helps you they Explain how to give the med's to your pet's. And also they are very nice and attended. But when I first came there I didn't have a good Experience with one of the receptionist but on 2 time I came there I had a better experience and the receptionist were more nicer so now I give this place 5 star's before I gave them 3 star's but the only reason I did that before was cuz of one of the receptionist was not too nice to me. But this time around it was better. I like everyone there they care about you and your pet's. The only thing is Just a heads up so you guy's know there is a long wait time but another then that this place is a great place to take your pet. But they will call you on your cell if you leave some where else for a bit mean while wire your pet is taken care of.Mirna Flores

Really friendly staff. Make sure you have an appointment to be sure you can have your beast looked at by a really nice Vet. The young lady in the front tried to get my beast checked out without an appointment but it was pretty late in the day. They did get me an appointment early the next morning! Overall it was a great experience for my beast and they took really great care of him. Also no bull$h!t extra charges/unnecessary treatment were trying to be added to the bill. They only did what he needed and they give estimates for procedures/surgeries. Great prices! Oh yeah and they have a bunch of hilarious dog paintings all over the walls and in the exam rooms. Did i mention the place is really clean! Only thing is the parking sucks but i didn't have any problem finding street parking. It's also right next to Mariachi Plaza!Jo Cas

Great customer service and veterinarians! Dr. Ramirez and staff took great care of my doggies needs! They are amazing! I want to add that they have excellent quality care for your loved pets. I like that the front reception area and rooms are super clean. One of the technicians and Dr. Ramirez saved my dogs life. They understood the family pet dog situation and affirmed my parents that the the family dog still had an opportunity to live longer. We were able to save the family dog and give her another chance at life. Dr. Ramirez, is responsive and makes sure that our dog health is good and always gives professional opinion of the options available for our family dog. Dr. Henderson and her team are simply the best! They have been caring for our Polar Bear all his life (and our beloved Pooklook before him) and we trust no one more with his health and well being. The staff here are professionals and behave as such. They're very friendly and caring of the animals and people who visit here. I found a lost dog which I brought here. Thankfully he was chipped. The people here helped me get in contact with the dogs' human and they were reunited. I also bring my dog here for his checkups and vaccinations. Dr Shufer and Dr Henderson are excellent veterinarians. Over many years, 5 dogs and 3 cats have been lovingly treated by them. I only have one rescue Australian cattle dog Abbey with me now She has had several surgeries and has been treated for several medical issues. She is 14 and has been a patient since she was 2.
