"Technology"? I can't even do my homework in class!? The cpu keeps freezing up! Lost my assignment in the Microsoft Cloud ON CAMPUS! Technical support is one overweight guy always eating at his cpu. I had to wait until the end of the quarter to meet with an advisor to sign up for classes I didn't want. Now I got a teacher that I didn't want. Got referred to get help with housing, the guy at Mary's Place never called me back. It's more like a outdated community college. The campus security running around there think they the real police. Several minority students told me they were followed around campus by them. Covid hit and I'm getting pressured by a rude narcissist teacher to come to the school to withdrawal from class. Then when I was trying to get back into school nobody answered a voicemail or email. Only owed the school around $400, got a collections bill for $1,000+. The King County Metro bus doesn't come by the school that much. Your definitely going to car transportation. The staff is mostly nice & helpful for the most part. But some things need to be changed.Andrae Jones

I am a 55 year old returning student who attended a " Little Ivy " college in my first time around. My prep school was rated #3 in the US by Forbes.I have enjoyed some of the best educational opportunities that the US can offer. I have surprisingly found most of the instructors here to be very dedicated and qualified. Some stand out, some are better than others, but none are lemons.They compare fairly well , within reason, of the instructors I had at my elite schools.BTW, because the program I am taking is in high demand in the private sector, the government provides extra money for financially qualified students. I will go through my six quarter program at about 20% of the cost.I had no idea that the money is out there if you take the time to look. Do yourself a favor and get off the couch. The building is nice, the atmosphere is nice. Most teachers are great and would like to see you be successful. The advising office is my least favorite because I am always continually being given incorrect information, information in which is very important to have. The advisors are sometimes very hard to get a hold of and some do not get back to you, and when they do they don't give you the information you needed. I have wasted a whole day and gas to go to appointments that I could have just gotten the information over the phone, or through email, the front office is touch and go as well. Other than that the school is nice, I'd recommend it, but make sure you get the correct information the first time and not when it's too late.Liz Brown

This school is so far behind. You can barley navigate to important information (which there is little of) online, staff has sent me in so many different directions that I can’t even keep track. They haven’t processed my loan even though it’s been turned in for two months before the deadline, classes have started, I don’t have my books and they haven’t approved my funding so my classes still aren’t paid for. This is so frustrating for anyone trying to start a career path. It’s so unhelpful. I can’t believe how much help they advertise when there is actually little to none And to mention they tried putting me in all the wrong classes for the major I’m going for!!!!Samantha Brock

Instructors are usually amazing. Face a lot of microagressions from entry level staff like the new barista and other cafeteria employees but that doesn’t cancel out the teachers who want you to succeed and truly love the subjects they teach. The staff in the library usually make my day. Financial aid staff can be rude, I would say it’s good to have someone advocate for you if you get sick during the quarter to not deal with the different personalities you can meet. A great place to restart my life. I am learning so much it's like drinking water from a fire hose. Ceramics is my favorite right now, but most of my classes are in Information Technology Services. I love learning, so most of the classes I took at BC were pretty good. Nothing was too difficult. Most teachers were great, especially Nutrition and CPR/Health Safety. There is however, one teacher you should avoid at all costs. Her name is Leanne Kunders (Leed) in the Allied Health department. I watched her break the law with respect to disabled students, which was appalling. She makes up her own rules w regards to laws. She is a mediocre teacher who blames her students for her problems. She retaliates against students who ask for their disability rights. She clearly can't teach and has no patience for any of her students who ask questions because she doesn't know the answer. Her tests are full of mistakes and mispellings and then she'll tell the class how important it is to be detail oriented. Yeah, if only I had someone to be my mentor and an example. Not my instructor, of course. She'll front load a class for no good reason with tons of meaningless work, then leave the last month practically empty. Very poor organization. And then she'll tell students they need to be more organized. Very funny! She's a sorry excuse for a role model. Do the opposite of what she does and you'll be ok. Lastly, Leanne will whine for half the class about her problems instead of teaching. BC must be really hard up for instructors to take this sorry excuse for a teacher. Yawn! No, she's not even close to rising to the level of a professor.Jennifer M

—Love this college!!— Very good design program and amazing internship after all the trouble I went at another small school. Initially I started at Art Institute of Seattle but they accepted me without asking for any essay or portfolio which was already unusual. Then advisors started disappearing from the office until school announced that closing permanently in the middle of the quarter. I was terrified to lose my F1 Visa status. Last person left in International Office told me to leave the country within 14 days if I can't get enroll in another college. I couldn't believe it was happening for real in the US. But Bellevue College saved me. They accepted me in a few days and transferred all my immigration records within grace period. I was able to get an amazing internship this summer and company just offered me a permanent job. Forever grateful to my advisors and great professors!Kim Su

I strongly detest private education with instructors reading out of textbooks which certainly does occur at this institution, however, the majority of professors provide the state curriculum mixed with their own style making for an enjoyable experience. Organic chemistry, Psychology, Biology/Microbiology all get special shoutouts for their dedication and commitment to excellence providing the highest caliber of education while also being accessable after hours through email or on-site locations. Pre-req classes as always are definitely a scam in American education. All 100 level classes not applicable for your degree are a waste of very precious resources and unreturnable time. Online courses are as expected although I do enjoy that online requires much more work. I love studying extra and being challenged to accomplish more from less. So far I have had a just ok experience here at SPSCC. First starting with the financial aid office. We are almost three weeks into the quarter and they just now processed my awards (grants that is) but it is sitting and hasn’t been disbursed yet. Every time I have inquired about it I am given the excuse of their new ctclink system. We have got to get it together! People that apply for and receive financial aid and grants need these to help get through school. They are eligible for a reason and that is because they are low income. So taking an excessive amount of time of sending students their financial aid puts a damper on not only their learning but also their living situation. This is effecting the students and the students only. Also, the bookstore listed a book for my class as required so I purchased it a week before the quarter. Come to find out the Professor is using two completely different books. Had to make another trip to the campus to return it which was an inconvenience since I’m all online classes. Then the two books needed the bookstore does not carry. It’s been challenge after challenge here and this is just the beginning.glenda fox

I attended this college for exactly five months, and I decided to leave because I lost interest in the classes that I took, and I didn't have the interest to have a major career. An education for myself would have been very important, and I had the capability to work with subjects if I was committed to the work that I was doing, but I didn't have the interest, so I decided to be a writer instead. I also left the college because I was treated carelessly by many students, and I was treated the same way in high school, so I didn't want to continue spending more time in an environment where I would continue to be disregarded. If you are committed to getting an education, then it is all a matter of interest for what your career is, and it's up to anyone for what they want best, but even if I don't have a high education, I still have moral education from my potential to be a writer. I do recommend this college for anyone, but I hoped that the students would have been more sincere and polite, then I would have stayed there.Colby Kanter

I attended a few classes here a long time ago. I needed to get the transcripts rather quickly because the deadline for University admissions is closing in. When I visited the office the lady that helped me proceeded to treat me like dirt. I asked if the document would be in an envelope and if they needed the address I was sending it to and she proceeded to mansplain transcripts ("this is the paper its going to go on after I feed it into the printer"). From the perspective of someone who works in higher education…if I were a student and had to be mansplained to every time in needed to speak to registration/financial aid/cashiering…I would complain to her boss. The campus is beautiful but that's all Western has going. The school is greedy and designed to milk money out of the students the most that they can. It's gotten to the point where you're forced to take over 100 credits of general university requirements in addition to the 100+ credits needed for your major. Only graduate students teach lower level math classes and all of the required English 101 classes. The registrars office is severely understaffed and stretched thin so sometimes paper transcripts are not even sent when requested. Students are charged ridiculous and unnecessary fees such as gym access even when they don't use it. Parking alone this year went up $100 compared to last year. So it's up to somewhere around $400 for a student annual permit that's not even guaranteed a spot because of the way the waitlist works. The newer professors often times have no idea what they are doing and do not have actual teaching degrees, just degrees in their subject. So you can end up with someone who makes exams way harder than the actual content and who does lecture 100% based off of the textbook instead of explaining concepts in a way that students can understand. Housing is a whole other issue. Dorms are usually small and have no air conditioning often with out dated heaters and such. They're overly pricey for what they are. In community style dorms once the soap dispenser runs out of soap in the middle of the week it will not be refilled until the beginning of the following week. The cafeteria costs way too much for what it is.The food quality is horrible. Sometimes you can end up with wilted and mold spotted veggies and/or burnt and under-cooked meat. It only improves for a short time when guests are expected for things like campus tours. Dishes are often not clean and do not look sanitary. Now, on to registration. You are not told how to register after your summer orientation. So you have to figure that out on your own and are expected to research what classes you need for your major. Priority goes on a credit and last name basis. I do not recommend going to this school. They are overall greedy and only care about money, not the students and staff. The school is designed to make students fail several times or hold them back by not providing enough space in the required classes required for their majors. Overall, I am pleased with WWU. My daughter has thrived there, but she was able to find her niche. My niece did not, & chose to earn her degree elsewhere after her first year. Right now, I am frustrated. My daughter works on campus as a student academic advisor during the summer. During the school year, she is the manager for Choral dept. She had to be on campus over the summer, during student advising, so, living in her on campus apartment. Advising ended yesterday. She HAD to move out TODAY, however, she has to go back in FOUR DAYS to turn in her equipment because the 2 departments don't seem to talk to eachother. In TWO weeks, she has to be back to start her managerial job. They would not grant early move in. One would think an accredited university would be able to coordinate the logistics of move out & equipment turn in. Also, having to move out for TWO WEEKS IS RIDICULOUS! As a student who paid for western themselves i can truly appreciate the experience if you want to go to a college that tries to provide new outlooks and create a sense of community then western is a solid choice. Many of the professor and groups on campus really seem to care about you and it shows. Bellingham is also a beautiful place and has a community that shows much of westerns values. Now the institution of western is everything opposite they will fine you for outrageous reasons and provide such little levels of care it took 3 months for them to return an appeal and it was only returned because i went in to talk personally to the person in charge. If you can at all cost avoid housing/dining/parking they all exist solely to take money from students for no apparent reason other then they can.Anthony Mason

I have been attending Peninsula College for 6 quarters now to complete my AA Degree and I absolutely love it. I only have one more quarter left until graduation. When first registering and getting ready to start in Fall 2017 it was simple and easy. Everyone was super helpful with getting me started and helping me in any way that they could. Also every professor I have had has been wonderful especially Dr. Teorey for English and IS classes, and Ms. Scouten for English as well and Dr. Mattson for psychology. Each teacher has made a big impact on me and my life as they have taught me so much and helped me more than I could ever say. Going here has taught me so much in numerous ways and has helped me gain more confidence and insight. I love attending classes every day and the staff is very helpful, kind, and friendly. I have also taken a few online courses and those are great too. I definitely recommend taking math classes face to face though if you are not really good at math as the math 90 online was too difficult, and is much easier to take face to face so you can really grasp each concept. Professor Wallis is a wonderful math teacher and I am enjoying her emporium class so much. I am actually loving math and that is something I thought I would never say. I have had no issues, and would recommend this college to everyone as the campus is absolutely stunning and the staff and professors are beyond wonderful. Best place to get your college education started as you will enjoy every single day and learn so much from such wonderful people.Renee Buehler

I really have nothing but positive things to say about the college. I walked into the Student Services building in August of 2014 with a G.E.D. and my DD-214 (military discharge papers). I was directed to Terry Smith who is the veteran services administrator and he guided me through the program. He was able to help me enroll into full time classes starting that Fall. I earned my Associates Degree in June of 2016 and was accepted in the BAS Program. I struggled with mathematics and they had several tutors/ workshops on campus to assist me. I intend on graduating next year with my degree and transferring to City University of Seattle to continue on with my masters, thanks to Peninsula College.Paul Fed

The very small class sizes paired with teachers who genuinely cared about me and my learning made for a great experience. Like with most things it is what you put into it. While there were the occasional teachers who were less interested in my learning outcomes, most cared a great deal. The admin staff was always helpful with financial aid and my needs. Such a terrible experience trying to just consider registering, that I am now no longer interested. I called to make an appointment with an academic adviser. I was put on hold for 20 mins without ever speaking to a human or given any other option. After 20 minutes, I hung up and called the main number. She said, "well, I can't do much, but they have direct number I can transfer you to." So, she transferred me. To some random faculty member in some department I had no interest in. That person was very nice and told me she'd walk my request over, and have someone call me back from advising. They did call me back to set up an appointment, which we did. However, I was driving and couldn't write down the details, so she assured me she would email me all the info. Of course, I never received the info. So, I just called to cancel my appointment. The overwhelming impression I got was one of incompetence, inefficiency, and that the right had didn't know what the left had was doing. Oh, and it's a half hour wait on the phone to even speak to the right hand. I was a new student, contemplating studying here. But after the way I was dealt with on the phone on my very first interaction, I now have ZERO interest in attending, and will continue my search for a school that has its act together, and knows what they are doing. I have had nothing but Positive Experiences since I have been at Edmonds Community College for the last 4 months now. I am going through the Workfirst Program at the Gateway Bldg. They had me go through the Solid Foundations Course & a College Sucess course. before I started my summer courses of Math, English; Critical Writing, & another 2-credit Write class. All of the Instructors that I have had are amazing, they helped me in every aspect of figuring out what I wanted to take by different surveys & then they help to walk you through getting your all of your Financial Documents in order & get registered for all of my classes over the next 2-years while I am working on my Degree. Classes they used to offer in Math and Sciences are no longer being offered despite having brand new facilities just built. It is going through a strategic pivot from a transfer and foreign exchange college to a "social improvement" center. I tried to be patient, given Covid and everything else going on. But now is NOT the time to go to WCC. I took a class that, by the teacher's own admission, was not ready. We spent EVERY week not knowing what was actually assigned. The online courseware always has problems, interfering with studies. And it does not matter if you have "the same course material" as the bigger colleges if you do not have the lectures to back it up – they don't. This is a good way to pay 700 to be told to read the book. My classmates were consistently disappointed with help from the teachers and tutors. The kicker was my bogus charge from the bookstore. I was charged full price for a book that I. Returned. To. A bookstore. Attendant. At a desk at the bookstore. In WCC attire. There is a real chance that you will lose a substantial amount of money just by using their services. The textbook industry is already corrupt, it doesn't need the help. I'm disabled. My time here was meant to be a new leaf. Now I'm set back financially, educationally, and have to find somewhere else to study. WCC's failings and policies did real damage to a vulnerable person. I've been here a few times trying to get school started using the GI Bill. The Veterans service gave me misleading information, and honestly did nothing to actually help. I had been talking to them for over a month in regards to getting the ball rolling. Then residency was brought up. The first time, they told me "dont worry, the GI Bill will pay for." The second time I had made an appointment with Jarid Corbitt to register for classes, who told me they wouldn't, and I'd have to pay half tuition. I was at my last step and they finally bring it up. Then he tells me "all this information is on the website, you should have seen it." Ok. Whatever. I was told it wasnt that big of a deal. Then he tells me to look into Vocational Rehab, and that I'd need to make an appointment with a counselor then come back. Grossly unprofessional professors. Syllabi & class content of other professors is frequently copy and pasted into online courses because the professors clearly don't understand the content they're supposed to be teaching. Professors fail to follow even the most basic aspects of email etiquette. Online courses are frequently disorganized, poorly designed, and fail to make course objectives clear. If Whatcom is your only option be sure to research your professors before selecting your classes. If you have other college options consider passing on WCC.Allý Cally

Worst college experience. The clinical advisor is incapable of her job and pushed the clinical to a future start even though the CPR card takes one day to get but she decides to push it a whole week when we should have been done the day the quarter finished. The phlebotomy instructor is really rude and disrespectful of students and makes students not feel comfortable to speak up and if to ask a question she acts like your a child completely rude. I don't recommend coming to this college. Also the virtual graduation was upsetting to know I had sent my information and sent a photo and not even be on it. Really makes me unhappy to know I spent money and time to be treated as a student like trash and not get acknowledged for the hard work and time put into trying to succeed. This is a terrible college. It’s like pulling teeth to get anyone to email you back about important, time-sensitive information, and you get the runaround when they do. This happened when I was applying for admission, and is currently happening now that they’ve denied me, because they are incompetent, the certificate I worked so hard for. Because they changed the numbers on some math courses, they all of a sudden don’t count towards my certificate, and they lost the official transcript that I sent from my former college, and are denying my transfer credit. Man i had trouble here. Not only did they give me the wrong classes but it turns out i never had FAFSA to cover my classes. And they make me pay for them two years after I left the college. Thank goodness i never continued to study here. I know they have a lot of students to manage but still if you were able to catch that years later then why not then? I knew something was wrong here. This school is a joke. My girlfriend currently attends NU. From what I have seen of the place, the people, and the education. It is a disaster. Now keep in mind, my girlfriend works a job, goes to school, and comes home to do her homework. She is a living ball of stress. So when she has to miss a "chapel," session because she has been assaulted with assignments from every single one of her classes, the people who run this place are kind enough to charge her $500 for all the chapel sessions she HAD to miss if she was to do her assignments and pass her classes. I get that this place is a Christian school, but church should never be mandatory. There is a time and place for it. Certainly not in the middle of the week when people are neck deep in assignments from their professors. They also over charge the life out of you for tuition from what I can tell. This place just seems like an extra expensive community college. Some of the professors are also very lazy, unhelpful, and very unsympathetic. A lot of the people that attend are pompous rich kids that have never worked a day in their lives, the kind of "mommy and daddy bought me a brand new BMW," rich kids. There are a few good people in this place, but very few. Overall, the cons definitely outweigh the pros here. You're a lot better off finding a school that offers a flexible schedule, doesn't make you pay extra for something trivial like Church, and has a more friendly environment.Aaron Holthouser

This is an amazing Christian university. I got my BA here and the professors and students are very kind, welcoming, and supportive. The administration is a hassle to deal with though. As I tell everyone, pretty much everything is amazing about the school until you have to deal with the system of administrators and such, which is really difficult and annoying to do. But other than that this university has small class sizes, is very affordable compared to similar universities in the US, offers an amazing Christian community and experiance, and give you professors who care about you as an individual. The English department in particular is unbelievably incredible, and get dozens of other majors to switch to English each year just based on taking one or two English classes with them. They are simply magnificent. The campus is beatiful, the location is great near Seattle but just far enough away, and the oppurtunities for work and fun in the area are amazing. 9/10!!!R3aper Rising

Great, welcoming environment and school; feels like a family away from family and a home away from home. A couple grievances though: 1. While I understand they are a very community oriented school, I don't think that we should have to apply to live OFF campus. I find it a bit peculiar and a bit frustrating that you are required to live on campus, especially considering it's hard for first year students to get into the apartments, and how expensive the residence halls are. 2. I know it's a Christian school, I find it frustrating that you are required to get a certain amount of spiritual life credits, and you are charged for not obtaining all of them. I think chapel should be enough to get these and you should be able to get them waived if you serve at church, especially considering one can get busy with work/school and may not have time. But other than that I love this school, the faculty and professors are amazing and the students are all so welcoming.Christian Kopet

My alma mater, as of 1975. I considered it an optimal learning opportunity, and (at the time frame considered…) a quite reasonable investment. The only 'drawback' (at the time) being the regular 'business of life' [and unfortunately as well, death – Cancer, in Family]. Exigencies are unavoidable, and need to be addressed a.s.a.p., and can cascade into other further nets of decisions. I certainly did enjoy my stay there (the area, as well as the great University !). There was just never enough time to fully explore the many opportunities. If only one could repeat some experiences, possibly change some choices, and avail others… but then one could add that reflection to many things. Amazing Geology program, filled with the some of the most intelligent members of the field. Professors legitimately care about student success and the curriculum is top notch. Additionally, the field trips are all well planned and very educational. I saw they were trying to claim they were cheaper than a community college on their website. They even made a video. This is very predatory toward high school seniors without personal financial education. Go ahead and advertise yourself as a great school but do not take advantage of people trying to get a fresh start in life. If you are a high school senior, do not take a word on that page as science. Excellent private 4 year liberal arts university with masters degree offerings. Low faculty to student ratio, wide range of programs available. Gorgeous gem of a campus, very well maintained. Difficulties with one of the financial assistance representative. She wasn’t very helpful and was rude. My daughter completed all the necessary financial aid paperwork weeks ago including myself turning in the IRS and financial documents needed for her to apply for financial aid. Jordan, the financial assistance staff wasn’t very willing to answer questions and ended up hanging up on my daughter never to answer the phone again. She received an email indicating she didn’t meet the deadline to begin school this quarter. She had turned in all documents multiple times. We escalated the situation to leader ship and the financial aid issues were quickly resolved and my daughters account was placed on hold so that she is able to get into school this quarter. After more consideration, we have chosen to pursue education at Seattle Central CC, this school is not the right fit for us. We all have to remember that when we are taking roles and employment and helping the community and serving others, we truly have to feel that way inside. We really have to have empathy and compassion and love for others and working a role where people are going to need your help and ask questions. It takes patience. And if you don’t have that, maybe you should consider a different career. Seattle Central community college has taken my daughter on and she really enjoyed her teachers and her class and I think that was the best choice.Aisha Pleasant

I attend Everett Community College online. I love the school but the financial aid disbursements are a pain. I am pleading with the school to please offer direct deposit to ALL of their students. Today I had to drive around to cash the paper check they send to out of state students. My bank could not cash it immediately because it would be a two day wait for verification purposes. Well, I need my money today to purchase my books. I went to 6 different locations to try to cash the check. They all said they were unable to verify the check with the school. At Speedy Cash, one lady was looking at me like I was a thief. She has never heard of Everett Community College or a disbursement check. I just sighed, grabbed my check and walked out. Finally, my last stop was Ace Cash Express and they gave me no hassle but charged me $80 to cash it. I left the house at 10:00 am and did not arrive home until after 1:00 p.m. In all it took me almost three hours to try to cash a paper check and deposit it into my bank card. So much time wasted trying to cash a paper check.Val Sc.

I would not recommend this school to anyone especially international students. They created new policy that new international students need to live in the dorm that will be finished in Fall quarter at least 2-3 quarters. (EXCEPT students who are under 18, have relatives or legal parents here, or disable). I don't see any good reason for this policy. Why do you have to force us to stay in your expensive building? If it cheaper than other apartments around there, I wouldn't be offended. Their expensive classes are not worth it. The staffs are good but some are not, they are not professional. For those who got disappointed by Linfield experience, I would offer to please give it time. It is very valuable education, there is eternal value & substance received there that as we go through life guide us in amazing way. I would not trade this for any material thing. To this day, I continue to encounter amazing transforming kindness & enlightenments in life just because I went there 20 years ago. They saved me in life difficult moments & disappointments. I thank all my humble Professors there. They remind me of Socrates' words, "wisest is he who knows he knows not." Thank you for talking to us, listening to us, believing in us & to make us know that we deserve it. I thank my eternal friends I met at Linfield too. Thank you for being so inspiring & beautiful wherever you are. I felt safe when I was there & I will send my kid there one day. I went there 20 years ago but was happy to attend one of the prof's grand lecture in Applied Physics & to find out that my prof's prof was there & that my prof too were Linfield students once & were grateful for Linfield. Daughter attends currently. She and her friends love it; I learn from her course synopses when she returns home on break, and get to review her texts. The curriculum is excellent in liberal arts, improving in others. It's worth the cost, compared to other small colleges. I wish my parents had been able to afford to send me to Linfield, and care enough to consider offering to assist with teaching/ curriculum in my areas of expertise. Beautiful campus in a cool small town with great vibes. No Postgrad coursework offered, which encourages hiring teachers, not researchers. Changes the dynamic in mostly positive ways- generally better instruction and more individual attention, at the cost of raising the risk of staying current with what's going on in various specialties.Pat Gorman

Such a beautiful campus! Its open and very nicely landscaped as well as maintained. It's very well lit so it's a nice little place to walk at night. Security is definately a presence but will oftentimes bother or question people just walking through the campus however I understand to a point due to theft I'm sure. 2 really pretty fountains, an outdoor art "display" around the art building and the library is public access (with permission) which is very helpful. Great place to bring the kids for Pokémon Go too!Katie Brooks

Believe it or not, this college is an outstanding college! The clock tower kind of reminds me of a church atmosphere every time it goes off each hour. They have tutors that specialized with each subjects; The Writing Center, The Math Center, there is a place that shows you video editing, an area on top of the library where you can schedule for a tutor to come and help you. (Note: You have to do it online on the YVC web page). Between this college and a prestige university; there is not really much of a difference, only if you want a change of scenery. I have lived in Yakima all my life and I am very glad that we have a college here, without needing to venture out of town to go to college! 🙂 Just know that whether you go to a college or a university, the roads may be different, but in the end they all offer an opportunity to achieving your degree. There is only one con about here. When it is snowing or raining quite hard, and you need to physically walking outside to get to class, there is a a guarantee you are going to slip once while walking on the sidewalk, and a slight chance you are going to land on your ass at least once a week. This is the most poorly ran college I have ever dealt with, I am sorry to say. The admissions, financial aid, and registration offices are understaffed & under trained. It is almost impossible to get accurate information regarding classes, financial aid, or transcript info with an actual person on the phone. As a parent, we have had to spend as much travel time & expense "fixing" issues with the college, as time spent in Yakima visiting our son. Office hours are not followed, so, if you are unfortunate enough to attend YVCC, or have a child who is enrolled, be sure to call to check office hours the day you plan to visit. Also, if you can get info on teachers for classes that your student is registered for, you will not waste tuition on dropped classes. Unfortunately, several other parents have had the same issues with their children attending this school. I am disappointed in all aspects of the college. Our son has transferred to another community college, and we could not be happier. I only wish he had done it sooner.Kris Snider

I am happy with my overall classes and teachers. However the paperwork is a nightmare. I came in as a transfer student from abother college and was awarded financial aid for the winter quarter. Awesome. Spring quarter rolls around and I have what they call an "intent code" posted to my account. They had me in the wrong program and under an ineligible financial aid code for Winter quarter. I should have been under "Associates in Arts" until I was accepted into the program I was applying for but they had me under "Applicant for Radiology Sciences." So I spent an hour going back and forth between Financial aid, Registration and Advising to get the code fixed. However they won't fix the code for my winter quarter and now I might be getting billed from the school and won't be able to attend until it's paid even though the code mistake was on their end.Coyote Bones

I got my MBA from this school and it was great! I took both in class and online courses to fit my schedule. It was a tough program, but which one isn't. I can't understand why someone would bash the place, if it's a joke, why didn't this person graduate? Anyway, the school is opening a new downtown Seattle campus which will complement its many international sites and opportunities. It's a young university founded in 1973 so it does not yet have to "tradition" of the more established/older local universities but is still very good. City U is one of just a handful of schools around the globe that is accredited by the Project Management Institute (PMI) on top of regional accreditation. I'm very happy I went here. I was able to take an exec ed program at Harvard a few years later, so if Harvard doesn't have a problem with City U, why should some anonymous user?James Thomas

Save your money and find somewhere else to take classes. My first class wasn't awful but second class is a bloody disaster. I'm transferring out ASAP. I've had to complain and complain and email and email more than I should ever have to get the right information, it's been a complete disaster. I cannot believe that I paid over $2,000 for this crap excuse for a class. I could have done just as much good learning on my own by reading the book and doing all of the quizzes in the book.Savanna Kraft

The City University of Seattle never answered my questions regarding graduate admissions and disability services. It is extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get any answers as a prospective graduate applicant. The City University of Seattle is unprofessional. What a waste of my time!Jon L.

I'd be very wary with this school. They don't pay the teachers for their full work. Instead ONLY pay them for the time they're with students and none of the prep. I don't know how this is legal, but it's robbing the students of an adequate education, and exploiting the teachers hard work. High turn over rate. The place is poorly run and managed. A lot of misinformation. The school lacks a lot of basic supplies to teach, and lacked even a first aid kit.Willie Garcia

I am the parent of a student. I am very disappointed in the graduation venue they chose for these students who have worked so hard. First off everyone is talking through the ceremony, the sound system horrible, and awful old school auditorium. How disrespectful to the students to provide such a venue. I'm angry, and hurting for these students. To pay the high price they skimped on the celebration. Embarrassing and shame on the school.Cindy Cooper

I went to the Nursing program here after being CNA for several years, attending the program and getting licensed was the best decision I have ever made. The professors and instructors were very supportive. Most of the students were very motivated, if you’re motivated to get it done this is the school to attend, less wait lists and less stressful pre-reqs requirements. Best of luck!Gamachis Achamyeleh

I absolutely love the RT program here, the instructors are probably the best I have ever had. They have super high standards, but they also help you reach those high standards. The school is a bit pricey, but you get helpful instructors, with real experience, and who are ready to assist you whenever you need it. Plus, the hands on experience in class is a huge benefit. The only two downsides is not the program itself, but the food and beverage options in the school “cafe”, and the uniforms. For the price of the program, the uniforms are very stiff, and definitely nothing close to decent quality. So, if your enrolling, make sure to put some $$ aside to buy comfortable scrubs that actually fit you. As for the cafe, it would be great to have a real coffee machine (not instant coffee), so we don’t have the need to go off campus for caffeine. Overall though, I love my program, the instructors, and the new career PIMA is helping me prepare for. I definitely would recommend PIMA to anyone who wants to actually start a new medical career!Christina Romero

This school is easy to get started at. I was admitted to the RT program immediately after taking some brief tests and completing a mock study schedule. It is not a cheap option, but the wait list for cheaper schools is two years long…so I decided to get my schooling done rather than wait. I hope that the high price of education here all goes to the instructors, because they are the only worthwhile part of attending here. The admissions staff will make whatever promises they need to make to get you signed up, even if it is something they can’t deliver. The facility and equipment is old. The programs are fast paced and will leave you behind unless you are serious about learning the material.Derek Aaron

Choosing Pima Medical Institute and their Respiratory Therapy program was one of the best decisions my family and I have made. The program was very thorough and straightforward in the teachings. The thing I enjoyed the most was the constant engagement you were able to have with the instructors. Everyone is very open and willing to help in any situation whether it was school related or just life in general. The PD is amazing and she will do everything in her power to make sure you are not only a successful graduate but you are a successful RRT for many years to come. After completing the Respiratory program I passed my boards and I was offered multiple jobs on many different levels.Cody Morrow

Virginia Mason is clearly suffering with hospitality, safety, and attention to detail. The amount of money they are spending on sponsorships with local sports teams should be spent on hiring extra staff and improving their standard operating procedures. Talked to a nurse on the phone about the coughing respiratory issues I was having and she said I needed to be seen that day but there were no appointments. Went to the urgent care who told me to go to the ER. Went to the ER and waited for six hours and was never seen. Virginia Mason would not make a doctors appointment with me until I was seen in the ER. I ended up switching to the Polyclinic where I was diagnosed with Whopping Cough after my first visit. They cared for me more in 20 minutes than Virginia Mason did for 48 hours. Also, separately went to a doctor for a rolled ankle. After X-rays was told it was sprained. Wasn’t getting better so I went to the polyclinic for a second opinion and turns out my ankle is fractured. Because of the oversight of Virginia Mason with two different things, I am having months more recovery than I originally could have had. I refuse to go to them every again or trust the medical opinion of anyone that works there.Bridget Maloney

TRANS PEOPLE SHOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR UROLOGIC CARE!!! I had a consult with Dr. Gjanje Smith in the Urology department for a gender-affirming orchiectomy on March 22/23, 2022. The consult itself went fantastically and I left with no doubt that Dr. Smith would do an amazing job. While I still have no doubts about her abilities as a surgeon, I have absolutely no confidence in the staff whatsoever. The worst offender of all is Dr. Smith's surgery scheduler, Candice/Candace. She is NEVER THERE. It has been well over two months since I first attempted to schedule my orchiectomy through her and I have heard absolutely nothing from her whatsoever. Every time I call, she has either "stepped out", gone to lunch, or has left early. And people, I have tried to reach her *dozens* of times now. It's literally impossible. And unfortunately, all that the people at the front desk can really do is send a message to her and/or the other surgery schedulers to try to get one of them to contact me (which has never happened). I would love to have surgery with Dr. Smith, but the staff has made that impossible. If you're trans and need any kind of gender-affirming urological care, you would be better served elsewhere.Alexis Vandom

Virginia Mason has been declining in their quality of service, good physicians, and facilities in my opinion. They now have started overcharging patients like me. Virginia Mason charged me hunders of dolloars for a yearly preventive visit because I asked a prostate related question that they claim it was not covered. I never had this experience with other organizations or even in the past with Virginia Mason with my previous doctor who retired. Upon contacting them, they repeated their policy and informed me about thier FAQ that I should have read and offered sending it to me! I guess we should keep our mouth shut or have an attoreny present during a preventive visit. Thankfully, there are are lots of other more ethical and honest medical facilities with better doctors and quality of service. I will never go to a doctor in any of their clinics or hospital.Ardy Fateh

I started the Respiratory Therapy program in 2007, as a non-traditional student seeking some sort of career in the medical field, but having no background in medicine whatsoever. It was hands down the best decision I ever made in terms of career choices. My instructors and the Program Director were patient, knowledgeable, and so caring. I graduated and was able to find work in the field right away here in Tucson. I loved the culture at Pima Medical Institute so much that I came back 10 years later to teach, helping to educate future RTs in the field. I would recommend PMI to anyone needing more individualized attention than a university setting generally provides, as well as anyone who needs a structured school schedule that is designed to still allow for work.Samandrea Barkley

I whole heartedly recommend PMI-Tucson nursing program. This is not your typical nursing school. Yes, it is accelerated, but they care! I am a student that travels from Phoenix every week to attend school, and both the program director Mrs. Wiebelhaus and the clinical director Mrs. Morelli regularly check-in to make sure I am doing okay. When I got sick and had to miss two weeks of class, my instructors made sure I had all the notes and homework so that I did not fall behind. I have learned so much in this program, and I know I am being set up for success!Gianna Emery

PMI is a wonderful school to attend for nursing! I absolutely love my instructors, and I know they genuinely care about me and the level of education I receive. So much thought is put into each individual class, and there are many resources to reach out to if you need additional help. Mrs. Arnold and Mrs. Morelli are two instructors out of many that really put forth effort into personalized help as well as an overall rounded education, and I'm grateful that I have them and all the other instructors at PMI to lead me into my nursing career.Kat Weaver
