I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. One of its kinda school Historic place as it is more than 100 year old school CUNY’S most iconic campus so far As building is quite old, construction is going on still it’s worth taking a walk here Lush green gardens and beautiful library plus awesome walkways and old concert hall and other buildings. Library staff is too friendly and easy going and so is the library too They have open tables with solar panels which is awesome Lots of environmental hazards are there which can be dangerous. I'm happy I found this place. I'm going for the medical assistant training that starts on March. I thought they forgot about me but it just takes some time for the classes to start. That campus was nice and personal . Warning there are a lot of stairs. I loved the unique dining hall options. Overall I was quite disappointed with the presented dorm I saw on the tour. There were flys in the bathroom and holes in the furniture. I was disappointed that was what I was supposedly to get excited for. Other than that the tour guide was nice and the campus was beautiful. They told me I should take a semester as a medical assistant and so I did. Coming from queens I would take the train and it would take me more than an hour to get to this school. I worked very hard and made it to the honors program even..My first semester in Monroe College I got an overall of an 3.7 Gpa, I was thinking finally with this gpa I can get into the ultrasound program . However when I went to apply for the ultrasound program again I was told I was STILL NOT ACCEPTED due to “lateness” and other “excuses”.. come to find out this is not an accredited school which wasted my time completely. PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY here.. in order to take your board exams you HAVE TO be in an accredited school.. please don’t waste your time like I did. I am a current student. The admission process was great. Olga M. “walked” me step by step and she explained everything I needed to know. Will Never forget how nice and helpful she was. The advisor , the Professors are excellent. They give me options each semester for days and hours and the most important they are there for anything I need , anytime. I see people saying that the school is not accredited which is not true. Nursing program is accredited , students sit for the boards right after graduation. DMS program is accredited with ARRT, after ARRT registry, graduate students can sit for ARDMS… I don't see any problem with this, who wants success have to work hard. I have been here 3 semesters and I did learn a lot already. Nobody was unprofessional or rude, the opposite. I am enjoying my “student life” at Monroe and I will Graduate Next year.Klaudja Guri

I remember back in 2019 while in hopes of signing up for college, Nonetheless I was brutally discriminated by a Hispanic consoler who was helping me sign up for college and gather my information in order to proceed with the process. She told me “ saving people’s lives is more important than my religion “ . When she told me this she was referring to the vaccines and flu shots. I will never forget about this incident, there is such thing as religious exemption . “ my body my choice “ or is that only okay to say when getting an abortion? She was most definitely taking advantage of the fact that I was vulnerable after opening up a little of my life story to her, she has came at me so nasty and it’s discrimination against my beliefs and religion! I did not have the greatest experience. I heard great remarks about this hospital but I just did not see it. My son was transferred to this hospital after having a CAT scan of his brain because of an concussion. I felt once transferred a different hospital should do their own CAT scan as well many other assessments to come to a proper diagnosis. As he was transferred it took then hours to get the MRI done. I am not sure if they are understaffed but there was too many patients that was underlooked. I guess I was fortunate enough because my son arrived as a transfer from a different hospital by ambulance, but had he did not he to withe have been overlooked. I was only talked to for a length of time because he was being discharged and even then I felt rushed because I had too many questions apparently. Doing computer work/paper work is more important than addressing a sick or in pain patient.dkellz31

UPDATE: There is almost no wait for test. You just drive right up. *Bring your ID* Got my COVID test here for pre-op outpatient procedure.. was scheduled ahead of time… Came to NY Medical College campus designated location for testing. Arrived 5 minutes ahead of time and waited in line. First your name is checked on computer & registration is done. This takes a few minutes. Then you just drive around to pull into garage-like building. Someone checks your name and brush-sample is placed up nose. Count of 5 in each nostril. Not pleasant but not horrible; done in less than a minute. FYI: No bathroom onsite.B.J. Loveislove

The emergency trauma center was was excellent but the follow up for the doctors took a 8 hours for me to see a doctor and get a neck brace that was put on incorrectly and had stones I have stones under the material remove. The nurses upon the floor have been great. I hope rehab is much betterWilliam O'Brien

I graduated from this institute’s nursing program in 2021. This is the WORST PROGRAM. If you value your mental health or genuinely want a good education DO NOT COME HERE! You are not valued or taught. The expectation is to already know then material and come to class with questions. They overload you with book work instead of actually teaching. Please go somewhere else. This is a money pit. As a student there, I was never taught how to be a nurse or think like one. We were just overloaded with information that changed from teacher to teacher. The whole program needs to be looked at by the accreditation board. So many of my classmates failed their Nclex because we unfortunately were never prepared. Thankfully I passed the first time but barely. Do better MountNichole Spruell

College of Mount Saint Vincent is the worst!!! Before you go there, the staff is amazing and accommodating but after you attend, they’re terrible! They won’t speak to parents even though you’re the one paying the bill. The teachers are a hit or miss. There are mice/rats in the dorm rooms! Dead one found in the dorm. Three people to a room is uncomfortable but workable only if you have good roommates. There is only one dining room who serves the same boring food and the sports programs were not good. There is nothing to do on the weekdays or weekends!!! Worst school ever!Moni Moore

This school has the worst nursing program in the world. I am not a disgruntled student. They are the worst. The Queens students have been take advantage of and completely ripped off. The building is either freezing or scorching hot. We’ve been locked out of the building in the snow and rain. The professors don’t care about us at all. The exams are written improperly and the faculty don’t care. Financial aid, bursar, and registrar offices never return calls. This place is disturbingly bad.CHUD-Master General

Like with most colleges and universities, you need to do your research BEFORE deciding where you want to apply. Don’t take their brochures at face value; if on a weekday tour of any school, try to walk around after the tour and see if you can find students in the major you want to study and ask for their honest opinions. Make arrangements with the departments to shadow freshmen level, mid level, and advanced classes to see what it’s like. Don’t just look at the tuition price and say “too expensive, I’m going elsewhere” or “too cheap, classes are probably poor quality”. Honestly, I think Saint Peters is a solid mid level school in terms of programs. I started with a major and minor in two departments that I ultimately switched to a major and minor in two other departments, but between those four departments one thing was common between them; there was opportunity in each. The science majors have the opportunity to do big or small research projects, art/theater majors have the opportunity to do performances, education majors have opportunities to TA at area schools, so on and so forth for most majors. A lot of schools will boast about students having opportunities, but what Saint Peter’s has is the ability to push a larger volume of students into obtaining those opportunities. Jersey City is a large city minutes away from NYC; most motivated students won’t struggle to find large or small internship roles as long as they don’t suffer from a fear of missing out on hypothetical “better internships”. Unfortunately no school is exempt from some negative aspects. While the school has a lot of great professors you’d love to study under, just like any other school it does have its fair share of ones you don’t want as your advisor or professor. Other than that, most of my other complaints would revolve around the quality of the dorms during the time I attended. Dealing with the billing department can also be a pain (even if they are the ones who owe you money). All in all this school won’t radically change the lives of every student for the better and put everyone on the path to becoming billionaires, but it’s programs are solid and reliable and will get you the foundation you need to have a long career in your field. And although I’m not a Christian, I do appreciate that they try to instill into their students a sense of giving back and helping others rise above.Anthony Borkowski

This is the treasure of Jersey City and perhaps even all of the Greater NYC area. The college is very reasonably priced, and the main campus is within a truly dynamic city very close to Manhattan. If you're a student, you will be challenged academically; but you will also learn a great deal and gain so much practical experience. Some of the classes I attended were easily on the "ivy league" level; and were anything but easy; but you will remember what you learned 10 years later. The professors actually care and will give you individual attention if you want or need it. I cannot give this college enough stars. We had to do a change of circumstances. An appeal to financial aid. We did this with all the schools. Out of all the schools that we were admitted to. Fordham were by far the best with customer service, very helpful very kind very nice. Stefan Really helped us a lot and really followed up with everything. Sanford was amazing too very kind very helpful was very patient. And Sage in a different department. Great school looking forward to my son going to the school with all going well. Absolutely love this university!! My daughter moved in today as a global transition student. The volunteering students were so sweet and welcoming. They helped us carry luggage 3 flights of stairs. The rooms and shared bathroom were so well kept and maintained. The university grounds are absolutely stunning. You don’t feel like you are in the Bronx. Terrible school, hidden fees and shiesty collections department. Super liberal and calling it a Catholic school is a misnomer. The Jesuits there (with a few notable exceptions) are a bunch of priests who pretend to believe the faith but their actions never reflect that fact and rather than fulfilling priestly duties prefer to campaign, promote, and tolerate evil leftist agendas on campus.G B

Do not get tricked to go here. It is not a Columbia school as advertised. Ask them their email address. They do not have access to Columbia's LionMail. Alumni are not granted Columbia alumni emails. Horrible education. No teacher's training or internships to get you into a teaching or school administration's career. Flimsy courses. Many from ESL speakers, unable to even speak English well, let alone teach you. Huge classes (think of 50- at a private school), led mostly by TAs, graded also by TAs, with poor, irrelevant content. Graduated many years ago. Still remember a professor from the Nutrition Department canceled meeting literally 5 mins before we discussed my Master Thesis. Is it how you treat students after they paid at least 50k a year for tuition? Didn’t love the program (not very intellectual challenging) and the university + dorm as a whole looks old and outdated. My advice to prospective students: do not attend this school or any other ivy league school without a full scholarship for tuition and housing. You will regret it. This school does not have the connections you think it has, nor is it as prestigious as you believe it to be. Many of their programs are not job-oriented. I hesitantly went to the er with a medical difficulty and surprisingly I wasn't as bad as anticipated; Staff, Doctors and even Security were kind, helpful, thoughtful and knowledgeable, considering the amount of patients and situations they have to deal with on a daily basis. My only suggestion would be for more seating in the emergency room, if possible. After triage, some patients had to stand in the waiting area. When a person already doesn't feel well this is extremely difficult.Ellen Gary

The Graduate Center is a well developed institution that is full of resources for students of all ages . Within this university there are major program like The CUNY Pipeline program that seeks to diversify Doctoral programs to be more inclusive to “minority” groups so that various forms of research can be conducted and change the boundaries of scholarly work / discourse. Another amazing program within this university is the Futures Initiative Peer Mentoring Program which also seeks to bring together students from various ethnic backgrounds and CUNY campuses so that they can come together and learn how to communicate their feelings and concerns in a safe space. This program promotes the improvement of the quality of experiences that students who are involved in this program have while in the CUNY system. The MSW program here is a complete joke and does nothing to prepare students for any kind of clinical social work. Some of my peers have essentially failed the class, doing maybe half the assignments, but still get “passing” grades crying to the admission. Speaking of the administration, they only care about taking your money, they seem to have zero interest in producing competent social workers. If you ever see a therapist that went to Fordham, run away. If you want to actually learn social work, look elsewhere.Danny Erickson
