Don't make the same mistake I did , I took the auto collision at Okefenokee Tech in Waycross,Ga and from the first day I had nothing but trouble and one problem after another . first with registering for class I registered before the dead line and when I showed up foor class I wasn't processed I had to re register then they had the nerve to charge me sixty five dollars in late fee's. And now for the class or wanna be a class which is a joke because the teacher didn't know 90-98% of what he was suppose to teach us I'd ask questions on how to use tools or how to repair and the only answer I got out of him 99% of the time was I don't know so please DON'T come to this school save your money and/or go to another tech school..Jarrett Kirchman

Very happy with the LPN program here. I went to the Golden Isles campus. But took a few prerequisite and online classes here as well. Small class room sizes, teachers actually care if you show up and want you to succeed. I attended a previous school and in comparison this LPN program really breaks down concepts and you get so much clinical time, it’s nice to connect and see physically what you read about in the book & get hands on. Also Mrs. Teresa Henry.. best instructor. She pushes you yet encourages and believes in you. I could rave all day, money well spent at this school!kathryn postin

The staff has generally been helpful, but it's been impossible to speak with my advisor for the program I want to study. I've been trying to contact her for over a month now to no luck. Online and phone appointments both have not worked, I don't know if it's the system or her not showing up. I was told by email that I could come on campus any time during school hours to speak with her, and when I went she was not there. She told me she would call me twice now at specific times we planned and she never did. I don't know why it's been so difficult, but regardless I'll be going to school elsewhere. I've never had this much trouble contacting my advisor with a school before. Usually they want to speak with you and get you the help you need.Eden Kutch

I called wiregrass cosmotlogy department for a hair appt; the instructor, Karen Hutchson gave me an appointment the same day. My experience with the student Dacey Palma was Great; she washed my hair, blow dryed, and flat iron. The lab assistant Lesha Lee educated me on why it is important to get hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks; she took a picture of the back of my head, so I could see why I needed my ends trimmed; they were in really bad shape. Oh! The cost was affordable. Wiregrass cosmotlogy department is doing an excellent job in training their students. Thank you!Brenda Johnson

I entered Clayton State as a Freshman in 2014, graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Human Services in 2019. I am now completing my Masters Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology. I have had more positive experiences here than negative ones. The negative experiences I had were minute. Because my negative experiences were minute, I will list those first. CONS: – I had an issue with a professor in my undergrad about an assignment I completed that I received a 0 for, and when I attempted to make a meeting with the Dean of Psychology, she canceled the meeting and my issue was never resolved. I received a C in the course, which hurt my GPA. (I am not upset at the professor, since the issue was I didn’t follow 1 instruction she gave, my issue was with the Dean canceling the appt.) – The University Health Services employees are burnt out. They are understaffed, and due to that, they are not that friendly and can take a while to get stuff turned in on time. (However, i stayed on top of it consistently and I was able to get the issue taken care of before the deadline) – Other employees at the school are not friendly, but that could be due to issues completely unrelated to the school itself. – Food in the cafeteria is not great. Now on to the great experiences! PROS: – The professors in my department are WONDERFUL. I cannot stress how awesome the professors are here. I have gone through a lot in the past few years, and one professor specifically (Dr. Mark Daddona), really helped me through it. As a single mom it was hard, but they have always been very understanding and flexible with me. If they had a Doctorate program, I would take them for that too! – The students are great. Yes, you have some that are not really here for learning, but the ones that are here to learn are great. – The janitorial staff is amazing. They have always been kind to me, and they do their job very well! The school has always been kept clean, especially the bathrooms. – Everyone is pretty responsive. I cannot seem to remember there being a time where I went days without a response from someone in any of the departments or buildings. If I can remember anything else, I will add it in the future. The professors really care about what they’re doing, and it shows. The classes may not be easy and the rules may be strict, but since this is a college, that should be expected. Bottom line, I have had nothing but great experiences. If someone were to ask me for a recommendation, I would let them know to consider Clayton State University!Cassia Encinias

Clayton State has a great environment for a young adult to be properly trained for the battles of the adult world. The professors do a great job of making sure that the students have the proper knowledge to succeed. The limited class size allows the teacher to dedicate more time to the students who need extra assistance to ensure no student is left behind academically. This style of teaching helps to minimize the anxiety that comes along with being afraid to ask for help. The professor are firm on deadlines, so this develops the skills to be hard working, plan oriented, dedicated, and accountable. The students are kind and belong to one another. So I literally haven’t even started my for spring semester & I am DREADING going here. Almost everyone but TWO people have been extremely rude to me over the phone and I’ve gotten hung up on multiple times. I wish I would have read the reviews of this school before applying. I will be actively looking for a new school to be apart of this semester. I’m hoping my professors make up for the horrible office staff. A great college experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a more one on one experience. The classes are a lot smaller, so it's easier to get help if you need it. The instructors are always willing to work with you, and there are no student loans. Also, all the people complaining about the offices "not doing their jobs" are the ones who, most likely, are used to being handed everything. You are responsible for your paperwork. Bruh, the whole school trash…literally. The instructors ain’t instructing. Do not take online classes, the teachers NEVER respond! They didn’t post assignments until 2 weeks after class started and I was literally begging each one to respond to my messages to see what was going on.. THEY NEVER RESPONDED! Then they posted the missed assignments last (with no communication to the students) and expected it to be done in 2 days. I was sick with Covid and emailed every one of them to make-up work, no response initially (which caused me to fall behind), and then when I kept emailing, everyone lied and said they re-opened the missed assignments but did not! It took over 3 months to be admitted to the school. I kept calling and getting switched from department to department , no call backs and no emails- I should’ve knew then. I’m looking for another school to switch to next semester that will let me take my Accounting major online- I REFUSE to give this school FREE money! They need to be reported and sued. Maybe even closed down. THIS ISN’T A REAL SCHOOL! MARK MY WORDS! Lets all work together and get this school shut down permanently! A Mississippian now trying to get back in school after seven years,found Atlanta technical college.I had the hardest most difficult time reaching a advisor for the Paralegal course. I called numerous times and left a voicemail. I also called the dean and no answer. I sent an email to my advisor and received no reply. I finally got a call from my advisor like one day before the summer course start . I was so upset I wanted to attend this summer 2022. The advisor advised me not to start because class starts the next day and I would be rushing and scrambling to buy books and schedule classes. I hate that this school makes it hard for us who are really trying to get this magic ticket to the so called “ American Dream”. I’ve been to better schools in Mississippi and Indiana. I applied and send all required docs in July ai go to the school 1x a week just to be told they have a new system and my application will be updated in 48-72 hours.. No one answered any contact number and whoever is answering the the calls either automatically puts the calls in the waiting queue, or doesn’t want to answer your questions and rushes you off the phone, this morning alone I have been on hold two hours and have yet to speak to anyone. I would not recommend the school to anyone. In my experience with the school the instructors do not help students who need help, the advisers will not help you if they do not like you, namely Bryant and Kirkpatrick. The doors will be locked on you because administrators don't feel they should have to hear students out even though their policies are supposed to be open door. The instructors degrade students telling them they are insignificant they're supposed to be transparent and have also been noted to tell students to get their panties out of a wad when asking for study guides or help with the study material. their policies are mainly broad and very vague, open to interpretation by the administrators and are enforced at their discretion… So if they do not like students they will discharge them when they so choose. Telling them they can appeal, but then giving the student no further help with this process. Favorites are easy to distinguish.. In my experience the students with money, who had smug attitudes and acted superior to the others were treated better than the rest. Cliques were prevalent… Instructors didn't do anything to help this though, even when allegations were made against other students, such as threats being made etc. Instructors refused to investigate these allegations or to validate them. They simply escorted the student off the campus even though the allegations turned out to be false. So in a sense.. Students who didn't like other students were allowed to prey on people because their social group was larger and they had more support All in all this school values its "professionalism" But it doesn't produce quality nurses, it produces cutthroat cookie cutter nurses who act like high school girls. Not to mention there were between 300-600 dollars of unexpected fees each semester. Policies such as their "drug card" policy which students were forced to sign and that stated students had to turn in extra credit prior to their pharm tests… However, if u didn't turn it in, or if there was a single card missing, you weren't allowed to take your test, essentially taking 100 points from your grade. This failed so many students our first semester. I will say the one redeeming quality this school had in my opinion was the empathy and care the other instructors had. Benton, McCutchens, coworker, all excellent instructors. All excellent in clinicals. They truly cared about students if you put in time and got to know them. If you went to these instructors they would show empathy even if they couldn't help you.Ben Frazier

I was a student at one time and did not care for the school. However, on the good side they had some great instructors until they resigned because of the college's administration and the quality of the students being enrolled. My issues with the school, had to do with the integrity and quality of the instructors, and the lack of discipline for devious actions committed by both the faculty and students. First, During the core classes, there were a handful a students that cheated on exams. They would simply be taking the exam on the computer and open up the internet link to answers, while the instructor would sit at the front of the class, not knowing what was going on. My GPA was honest, while they accepted students I had seen cheat on their exams into the RN program, I was not. So I switched programs. Second, when I enrolled into the second program, the instructor and I did not get along at all. I had no idea as to why. It may have been because I was the only male in her healthcare class or it may be for other deeper reasons. Nevertheless, I reported the adverse behavior of the instructor to my department head. At first, the department head seemed like she wanted to help, but the situation escalated to being out of control with the instructor yelling at me in front of all my peers. This instructor still teaches here even though, I brought it to the attention of the Department Head, President, and to the Board of Education. Prospect Students an Current students heed my warning. Education is an INVESTMENT, you get what you put into it. Unfortunately, that includes money as well. I attend Darton State College. I love it there. I take online classes and they are far more challenging and you will succeed because the professors really and truly care about your education. If you have the money try Thomas University. I know they are expensive but the relationships you build with your professors will be well worth the extra time and effort you spend on their assignments. I am not the first of my friends and family to quit attending SWGTC. Most leave quietly and do not leave the school to ponder on their absence.Felipe Serrato

Halfway through my first semester my favorite professor was fired. Not only was he/she fired but they brought in the police to escort him/her out during class with the students watching. No this was not a criminal charge. The proper way to have handled it without disrupting the student's education was to wait until the semester was over and then let them go based on the reasons for being fired. Mind you this happened right at the beginning of our biggest essay assignment that covered 25% of our grade. Left us with a sub. Yeah they weren't thinking about the students in this situation as there was not a backup plan in place prior to their decision. Meanwhile we are the ones that pay for this service whether through our pockets, a loan, scholarships/grants…we pay for this kind of mess. This was an amazing professor btw, was professional, helped each person in the class with their assignments, and actually taught the class. Very poorly handled and very unprofessional SRTC. By FAR THE WORST school ever!! This "school" does NOT care about the students! I was unable to receive my student loan because they stated that I was NOT enrolled when IN FACT I was!! The director of the Financial Aid office told me that she wouldn't change the decision for my loan even though THEY made the mistake. I got hung up on, I constantly got transferred to people who didn't know what was going on and on top of all that, the staff was rude! This school has managed to set me back from my program a whole entire YEAR!! I wasn't able to register for my classes because these people didn't "know" that there are two different A&P classes for different programs! Therefore, I had to become a transient student to make up for those courses. Out of all the comments I have ever heard about this school, not ONE comment was positive! I should've listened!! Horrible school I recently finished the welding and joining technology program at the Grovetown Campus in which 3 semesters were with a teacher who was rude, disrespectful, and just sat in his office and didn’t care about the well being of his students I was basically teaching myself. Then just recently I contacted the new instructor who taught me for my final semester for a recommendation letter for employment opportunities and have yet to receive a email from him after he said he would write me one and took down my personal information. I am doing the Information Technology Program. I find that several of the instructors will assist to grasp the concepts and get adequate hands-on for the programming and IT(computer network) related subject than you would get at a four year institution like AU (Augusta University). Student organizations are present but not very active currently. Labs, classrooms and technology support are less than optimal or ideal as would be expected for a technical college. I hope that with the Georgia Cyber Center(GCC) being recently opened here things will change for the better in the school's future.STAN ANDER

It is April 24, 2022 we are leaving Augusta University without having CT done a procedure that takes 15 mins yet we arrived 1:15pm and now it is 9:57pm something is seriously wrong with their ER process. Yes the staff was rehearsed pleasant. I didn't matter that we had three young hungry children and we lived 2 hours away. I packed them hearty lunch knowing we would back home shortly after dinner but early enough for them to eat before bed. Now this medical issue is not something you patch up an move on this could be a life or death situation which leads to have to return to complete this process. I was told they were waiting for radiology to respond. There is no way from 1:15 to 9:57 the emergency room had no communication with radiology. Most advised us to go to this hospital. Bigger does not always mean better. It's just sad to treat patients that way.Charla Williams

I had to go there Monday morning for quadruple bypass, I got through it for the best team I've ever seen, when I come out of surgery then back to intensive care they kept me calm and kept my scares away, this Hospital has it going on, I could go on and on about the service and the professional help they gave me. I applied to this school and had a great experience. I was informed I needed some prerequisites and the lady suggested I try a local school and then transfer back in. So I have been working on that. Well this semester I will be finished. But I noticed their date for transcripts is really early. Like in april. Most traditional school semesters go until may. So I called and spoke to a different woman. Conway Johnson. It is a difference of 8 days. I asked if there was anything I could do. All she would say is "well it is pushing it." She finally informed me that they do this intentionally to stop transfer students. Which was something I was told to do in the first place. I have worked tirelessly to get into their program and this women tells me that they try to stop transfer students because "the process is more drawn out for transfers." Aka, they dont want to deal with it. I'm so angry. They should of told me this from the start. Don't go to this school or trust them. Just pick a more accredited place and save yourself the hassle. *Edit* I have no way of responding to your reply. I was told the person I spoke with, Mrs. Conway Johnson on admin is who to speak with and she made it very clear she wouldnt help me. I highly recommend Fortis College. This college truly wants their students to succeed in all aspects. This college has helped me find a job while I was a student. They also work so very hard to get you prepared and employed upon completion of the program. That alone is a huge relief on any student. Every single instructor that I had, truly made an impact and were always willing to go the extra mile. I also wanted to recognize 2 special individuals who helped me along my journey as a Dental Assistant student. Both Mrs.Peterson and Ms.Green have truly been phenomenal throughout my course of being a student. They truly take their time to allow their students to understand step by step what they are learning. I can assure you I asked numerous questions and they patiently helped assist until I understood. Not only are they excellent instructors (Mrs.Peterson Director too), they took the time to get to know us individually and even listened to our worries and even issues that we faced outside of class. I just received my bachelor's from Herzing University, and I cannot say that I would recommend this school to anyone. For those looking to pursue education exclusively online, I would say that this program is pretty straightforward, however, being on the Atlanta campus was stressful more than half of the time. When I started there in 2013, there were a number of professors that were so passionate about teaching (for instance Mrs. Hess, Mr.Moore and Dr. Friedman <—this guy had to be the best instructor to teach mathematics I've ever had) but to my knowledge, they've all left the campus. Now, it seems like they're understaffed and just unprofessional overall. I had a professor tell me that they asked him to teach a course the day before (leaving him unprepared, and I honestly felt that he was unqualified to teach the class (but when the lesson plans are laid out for you I suppose anyone can teach anything). In the time that I was there, there were three academic deans and three presidents. I tried to get assistance with tutoring once, and I had to literally chase them down to respond to me. Then, three weeks into the class with no tutor and the dean asked me, "Do you think getting a tutor at this point is worth it?" Seeing as though this was the last class I needed to graduate, I was baffled. What kind of question is that to ask a student? When enrolling here, I was under the impression that I would be able to take the majority of my classes on campus. I was a criminal justice student, and the majority of my criminal justice courses, and none of my law classes were available on ground. I pretty much just took my gen-ed classes on campus, and ended up online for two years because none of my other classes were offered on ground. To wrap this up, if you're looking to take classes exclusively online, then sure, give this school a shot, but I could never see myself returning here to further my education.Rose Gold

I am currently in the process of trying to communicate with my advisor, Mr. Jermonte Battle after leaving messages and emails and no response. I was transferred to another advisor who sounded like he did not want to assist whats so ever and was quick to get rid of me over the phone. I love this school, aside from a few problems. One of the teachers is very difficult to deal with. Which I understand you are going to get that every now and then and cannot really get away from it, but she is a little overboard. Just make sure you get your stuff turned in the MINUTE she opens it and she wont unroll you from the class causing it to penalize you. Cool school, accept for a few problems. They jack the prices of the books, and if financial department makes a mistake on making a false charge on your school money, they won't stop it or refund you. So if if you are excused from school due to family loss or emergencies, and they still charge you, even though they said they won't. I attended the phlebotomy course here at Cambridge. Heidi was very pleasant, she helped me understand the courses and enroll in the one that made the most since for me. Dr Tobias was my instructor, he was very knowledgeable, engaging, and took the time to make sure that we fully understood the course material. Mrs Pam popped in to assist when we started doing live sticks and that helped us all feel more confident. Renae works in the library and she wad helpful in setting up my card key and national technical honor society. Also just any questions we had about the school process she was able to answer. Mr Gabriel randomly popped in so many times just to say hi and make sure we all were comfortable and had everything we needed.. Then there was Theresa and Carmen who taught us how to interview well and helped us with our resumes. Theresa had many many connections for job placement, in fact I was hired on at adventhealth within the first week of my graduation. I hadn't even taken my NHA yet. Theresa and Carmen were constantly following up with me and them and helping in any way they could. I passed the course and the NHA with an exceptionally high grade and felt very confident in interviewing for my new role. The point of this very long review is that they are a family there and you will have a very strong support team at literally every step of your journey with them. I was very excited to attend Cambridge , spoke with Heidi to get everything started . I came in for orientation , signed all documents for them to get paid .I paid my admissions fee . A day before my start date I was called to tell me I wasn’t able to start school due to not being accepted in the school . So I’m confused on to why would you have to sign Paperwork just for her to call me and say I cannot start school so and that mindset that showed me that the school only cared about money I just getting their admission numbers accurate. This was the end January 6th . I went Multiple Times in January February to get my $50 admission fee back I was told on several occasions that I was not able to get it back I spoke to the Director of a school which assured me that I will get my $50 back back where they did not follow protocol by making sure I was able to go to the school before they had me sign all of the information.Heidi is very rude and only cares about numbers which is very unacceptable,she pretends to care about her job and making sure everything goes well but in reality she did nothing to help me . I’m a former student at Cambridge in the Altamonte location, I was in the MA program and I just wanna say they are an amazing school. Starting off with the administration staff, there very respectful and make the whole process as smoothly as possible. As far as my instructor Pamela Gyce she has nearly 30 years of experience in the field. It was a pleasure being in her class, she makes sure the class is on the same page. There is no favoritism whether you’re old or young she treats everyone with the most respect. She’s more than just an instructor Mrs.Gyce will always motivate and encourage you, if you have a goal she will do her best to help you reach it. Very professional and heart warming lady. I have been diagnosed with Renal Carcinoma in my right kidney and wanted to get a second opinion at Winship since they proclaim to be a top-notch cancer treatment center. I called about getting an appointment over two weeks ago. I was told by a nice lady that took my information that a referral coordinator would return my call in the next few days for an appointment. I gave the lady my current diagnosis in detail, all my doctor's names, addresses, and fax numbers, so they could have all my test results sent over. After 3 days I called again because no one had called with my appointment date. I was told that someone would call me by the day's end, but still no call. I waited a few more days and called again. I was told that they had all my test results but couldn't understand why someone hadn't called to schedule my appointment but she would put in another request. That brings us to today. I called today and told the lady that my cancer is growing and could she please have someone call me, and she said that she apologized but again someone should call me by this evening. Well, it's 4:26 on Friday evening and it appears that I will sit in a very depressed state thinking about how the cancer is growing inside me and I can't even get a call back after two weeks of trying. My suggestion to anyone looking for a cancer center is to look elsewhere. UPDATE*** I just now at 4:37 received a call back as I am typing this review. I was shocked, to say the least. She said that I needed to see their prostate specialist for my prostate cancer. I politely told her that I was diagnosed with renal cancer and not prostate cancer and that I was very concerned about the way things were going with me trying to get an appointment. She told me that they were changing computer systems and that was the reason for the problems. I told her that I was looking at reviews dating back months with people having the same problems that I am experiencing. She now tells me that I will need to wait for someone in their urology department to call. Anyways I have an appointment with an Oncologist Monday and it was made with one single phone call… BEWARE!!!Tim Allbritton

I'm going to share the first two weeks of my father's cancer journey here. The ONLY reason we remain at Emory is because the specialized care and proton radiation he needs can only be found at Emory. My father was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer at the end of Sept. An MRI was requested before we could begin chemotherapy, which we were told needed to start as soon as possible. When we received the phone call for the MRI we were told the first available apt was not until January. It took over a week to get this straightened out. Next came his port, he was told he needed a port for his infusion treatments. Two weeks have gone by and we haven't even received a phone call regarding this process. THEN my dad received a phone call saying he had a chemotherapy appointment the following day. For those following along, he did not have a port, and it would have been his FIRST chemo apt. We were given less than 24-hours notice. My father showed up for his chemo appointment and when he arrived the clinic had NO IDEA what he was there for. He and my mother BOTH took a day off of work and they didn't so much as draw blood. They live over an hour away from Emory. You can not speak with anyone on your care team, ALL you can do is call their main number, leave a message with a nice person on the phone (who isn't getting paid NEARLY enough to take the abuse they MUST be getting from frustrated patients and family members trying desperately to get information about their own care or their loved ones). IF you have any other option AT ALL for your choice of care, by all means do NOT pick Emory. This stressful time in our lives has been made even MORE stressful by Emory's horrible communication practices, and it is CLEAR they are definitely NOT patient-centric!!!!Jennifer McCray

My doctor referred me to a cancer doctor here after I had an MRI. I was referred for evaluation and possible treatment for sarcoma. I called and my records were sent. I was told that I would receive a call back for an appointment. I waited a week for the call that never came but about 2 weeks into the ordeal another nameless person called and said that I had to see an orthopedic surgeon before I could see the cancer doctor. I was told that I would receive a call from that office. After 5 days with no call, I called the cancer number given by my doctor. She said that all my records were in and checked the sequence of events and said I needed to see an orthopedic surgeon and transferred me to that number. The rep had no idea what I was calling for. I was on the phone on hold on and off while she tried to find out the situation. After consulting her lead, I was told that I had to send all my medical records to a specific number. I told her all my records were sent to Emory 2 weeks before. I still had to send them in again. She said that after the records were received I would be called for an appointment. This is a total fiasco! Not knowing if you have sarcoma and trying to get an appointment to have it evaluated, receiving the run around, and waiting for a call that might or might not come is the most exasperating experience. Three now going on 4 weeks trying to get an appointment is unconscionable from an institution that is supposed to heal people. I'm exploring alternative venues for sarcoma evaluation and treatment. They are few and far between in this area.J Jenks

Do your research before attending CGTC. They are money hungry and may try to hold your transcripts claiming you owe them money. They told me I owed them over $300 for classes I registered for even though I could not have done that since I had already moved out of the state and had no intention of going back to that school. They lied and gave me the run around when I tried to sort it out. In the end I had no other recourse but to pay the balance so that I could continue education. If I had still been in Georgia this would not have happened because I would have been up there everyday but because I had relocated they knew they had the upper hand. .Whats worse is I was there because it was a recommended school for MyCAA(military funding). I hope that a lawyer catches wind of their fraudulent methods and sues them or the state closes them.Juliet Boone

This post isn’t concerning the school but the cdl program they are affiliated with. I applied last (fall of 2021) I was on a wait list. Now it’s almost summer (2022). And I’m still on the wait list. And to be clear, the wait list isn’t the problem, it’s the fact that I talked to a young lady who informed me I’d be in the summer class. She told me to update my application from fall to summer(so I did) and I would start class this summer. May 19. But when I spoke with Ms Renea, I’m now number 256… I mean if I’m that far down, why was it necessary to update for summer? I could’ve done an updated app for the fall!Tiffany Houston

This place is an absolute JOKE masquerading as a higher learning institution. Advisors are slow to respond-if they even respond at all, Instructors FAIL TO INSTRUCT. I've asked for feedback on my assignments and not received it. Ive been denied assistance and additional information when I asked for it. One class is LITERALLY JUST FOLLOWING FREE YOUTUBE TUTORIALS!!!!!! And the other one has so many errors, and such poor grammar that comprehending what the instructor is asking you to do is near impossible. What. A. Joke. This is the email I sent to the Asst. Dir of Imaging Services, Jane V. and the email address was invalid from her business card. Hello Ms. Vatali, I am currently in the waiting room on the 1st floor Imaging Services & I have been here since 10am for an 11am appointment (MRI). At 11am someone from the back informed me that I would have to wait another hour to 90mins to be called back. I was called back at 12noon and waited another 2 hours before I was wheeled back to the MRI room. My previous appointment on 7/25/2022 I arrived at 9:30am as instructed and was informed at noon that I would have to wait more than an hour because the patient before me wasn't in the MRI and they didn't know how long it would take. So I left. I waited more than 3 hours for someone to tell me it would take longer. We are driving from Douglasville, GA… a waste of time and gas!! I am now home from my appointment on yesterday 8/8/22 and it took Emory Imaging Services 10:00am until 5:00pm to complete my MRI of the pelvis with and without contrast with sedation. Just know this, I will never have anything nice to say about this department. I will NEVER EVER come back to this department again. Most of the staff is pleasant but unprofessional. We as patients can hear everything they are saying. This place is only Emory in name. The med school maybe top 5 or 10 but the Imaging Services is at the bottom of the barrel. My Husband and disabled son basically spent the entire day in our van because there was no parking for an accessible van at a hospital. Then to top this trash of a day off, I couldn't get my MRI image for my appointment day because it took personnel all day to get me seen. Emory Imaging Services Sucks. My nephew passed away at this hospital. He had sickle cell. He was scheduled to have surgery. After surgery my sister was told " I don't see a reason why he shouldn't go home and live a normal life now"..well they didn't close the incision properly which caused blood infection. Had to go back in to "correct" it. That's when things went downhill. We knew the damages that sickle cell did to his body, but this careless mistake cut our time with him even shorter. Some of the staff were AWESOME and showed humanity. My sister cried and as she watched her son fight for his life. She told the nurse that he is a good kid. The nurse told her good kids die every day, what do you want me to do? Another one said"I'm not about to hurt my back lifting him. He reached his hands out and pleaded for food. He was on NPO. She brush his hands off like he was poison. She could have at least been nice about it. She looked at him like she was disgusted and said " oh you're breaking my heart, I can't give you anything to eat". My nephew starved in that hospital!My neohew deserved better quality of care leading up to his final days. To the staff that played any part in harming him or caused any negligence to him will have to face the ultimate judge. You just don't know who you hurt when you treated him the way you did! they started to ignore the call lights and walk pass the room waiting on him to pass!. Karma is real!!! I am very thankful for the doctors, nurses, and staff of this hospital, especially those who work on the 7th floor of the hospital tower, for all they did for my Aunt. She spent 1 week admitted while recovering from a major cancer surgery. Not only did they keep us as a family informed of everything going on, they responded to our concerns and questions in the most caring manner I could ever ask for. Having a major surgery like she did is never a fun experience, but they made it as pleasant as possible. And for hospital standards, they have gourmet food for the patients which helped her appetite big time! Every nurse was pleasant, personable, helpful, and responsive. The doctors are top notch. I'm thankful for everything Emory did/will do in the future. When I took her home post-discharge, she said that she never wants to go to another hospital. If you have to be in a hospital, this is the place to be!Nicholas Wimbish

Never again! I’d advise anyone in need to think twice about going here and make every effort to go somewhere else. The triage process is horrible. I waited about 6 hours (11pm – 5am) and had to leave without being seen. There were several people that arrived before me who left as well. However, that didn’t make things go any faster with me trying to stick it out. The staff is completely disconnected from the patients, rude, and seem to care more about fraternizing amongst themselves rather than everyone being focused on caring for sick children in need. I witnessed another parent speak to a nurse manager and the parent had legitimate questions about wait time and service. The nurse manager’s response was patient in tone, but very much lacking in substance and almost came across like she was reading condescending, scripted rhetoric filled with excuses for the poor service. Then to make matters worse, a male came over (not sure of his role) to intervene as if he was going to put the mother in her place. He was loud, spoke over the mother – totally disrespectful and unprofessional, without an ounce of compassion for the child or the mother. The whole triage process is horrible and the acuity score is subjective. Therefore it becomes degrading when the ER is filled with all sick kids, yet some get to go back before others – all based on vitals and an assessment made before undergoing any real medical evaluation. The few triage questions don’t even seem to truly assess how sick a child is, especially over another. So I wonder how much personal judgment goes into all this, especially when research has proven discriminatory practices against minorities and the belief that some of us can endure more pain than others. This ER is a reflection of everything that’s wrong with our society and the health care industry as whole. The people at this location are in the wrong industry, and based on the poor operation it’s no wonder they have poor staffing issues too – and sick kids pay the price for this crisis.Anissa Matthews

My son had a first -time seizure at 9:30 p.m. and the paramedics recommended that I take him to CHOA. The ER was overflowing with patients when we arrived at 11 p.m. Most of the patients were suffering from respiratory issues and there was nowhere to sit, so the nurses allowed us to wait in our vehicle in the parking garage which was much appreciated. He was triaged within an hour, but it took 12 hours to be seen by a doctor. It was difficult being awake all night, but I completely understand that patients with life threatening situations take priority. (My son's vitals were fine.) And again, I was very thankful for being allowed to wait in the truck where my 10 year old son was able to sleep until he could be seen. We were called back at 9 a.m., but were not able to see the doctor until 11 a. m. Thankfully, the nurses were very pleasant and responsive to my son's needs. He had not eaten since 7 p.m. the night before, and he was starving. After quickly checking with the doctor, they gave him some crackers and Gatorade that helped until we could be discharged and get him some lunch. I was a little disappointed that we were not able to see a neurologist, but the ER doctor was great, and they gave me a referral for the first time seizure clinic. Every doctor and nurse we met was phenomenal. They were caring, responsive to our needs and excelled in their jobs. I wish my son could have been seen more quickly, but I'm thankful that he was well enough that he could wait to be seen. My heart goes out to the parents whose children were in worse shape than my son was.Stephanie B

Please stay away from this hospital if you can. We are from out of town and unfortunately had an emergency with one of our kids so we came here. This is probably one of the worst hospitals I have ever seen. Make sure to prepare yourself because the wait is few hours long. My son had flu and had allergy that his face was swollen that he couldn’t eat or drink anything for over 12 hours. I understand it’s hard to judge other kids that might not look as sick but every kid older or younger was going ahead of us. I understand the priority is for the kids that needs the most. But we don’t go to the hospital unless extremely necessary but this is horrible. No one for over 2 hours checked his temperature even though I said he was having fever all night and swollen and not eating. He can barely breath. We are not from around here and came to this hospital based on reviews, but we were so wrong on coming. Hopefully people that lives in Atlanta have better service and hospital than this one. Stop the one caregiver nonsense. It's ridiculous and serves absolutely no purpose. If your waiting room is overcrowded, set your limit to 2 parents not 1. At the very least, allow the 2nd parent to come inside once the child is in a room. There is no overcrowding issue in the child's room. This policy is just malicious. Orlando Children's hospital is SO much better than CHOA. They care about their patients as well as the parents. If it were feasible to fly my kids to Orlando every time they need emergency care, I would never set foot in this hospital again. CHOA is an absolute disaster. They misdiagnosed my son with an eating disorder when it was actually an autonomic nervous system disorder. I advocated for my child for 10 days while he was in the hospital – to no avail. Nobody would listen to either of us. I gave them pages of research from pub med, NIH, and even CHOA's own website – but they still ignored everything my son said and tried to saddle him with a mental health diagnosis. I finally was able to get him discharged, went straight to a cardiologist and got the correct diagnosis. Disgusting. Don't bring your kids here if you have any other options. CHOA, if you're listening, please make a phone call down to Orlando and ask them to come give a seminar on how to run a top notch children's hospital. Please don't bother reaching out to apologize or ask what you could have done differently. Seriously, just make the phone call, reach out to someone who is doing it right, and ask them to show you the way.Michelle Mckenzie

The wait is ridiculous now; before they had a better way of running things. Now; it is insane!!!! I am in the hospital as I am typing this because just like me other parents are waiting for their Child to be seen in the Emergency Room side..and the hours you have to wait are just insane. I get every patient is different but the way we all have to be cramped up in here is just insane. All the chairs in the hospital are taken; there are chairs along the hallway with people and kids around. Trying to not take much space so we can all get through safely. A nurse sees that there is hardly any space an expectativas us to move much more close up in here. Like woman!!!!!! Do you not see how everyone in here is cramped up; children crying; parents waiting and you still expect for us to get more cramped up?! Awful; just awful. I'd be surprised if they make us now wait outside. Management should do better so it is not this crowded. Before in the waiting rooms kids where entertained with a movie and made it easier for the parents to wait with their Child. Now it's just a sad a** hospital. Been waiting for almost 5 hours. Whoever is in charge of running this hospital needs to have a better plan on running things. So; the parent and child does not have to go through all this fuss! Horrible service, doctors do not care at all and had an attitude because I was an upset concerned mother. I do not recommend this hospital if your African American. I came in due to my 6 year old having 2 head aches with in 3 days and they told me they can only do a strep throat test. I explained my son is not coughing nor has a sore throat. Of course the test came back negative I didn’t need a doctor to tell me that. My son is having neurological symptoms where he is shaking, throwing up and complains of head aches. They told me he looks like he’s fine so there for they can not do anything further than a strep throat test. Informed them that if something happens to my son with in the next few days to a weeks I will be suing. I wake up every morning scared my son will not and they did nothing to put my mind at ease other than a strep throat test and an allergy treatment.Kiavon Grandinetti

We reached out to the Amen Clinic Atlanta because our daughter was experiencing depression and anxiety during COVID. We were desperate for answers and no other doctors or hospitals we contacted could do anything but give us medication that we felt might be “experimental” on a brain that is still growing. Our Amen experience was stellar! Way ABOVE our expectations! Not only were they able to help us, but more importantly they gave us options for treatment. The care we received from Dr. Chakra exceeded every expectation! He knew exactly how to talk to a teen so they could listen and understand AND his “bedside manner” is the best we’ve ever experienced by any doctor, ever! The Amen Clinic and specifically, Dr. Ali have provided excellent service and quality care to our 18 year old son. My husband and I are both in the medical field and believe strongly in functional medicine and how much it has helped our son. An initial scan helped us rule out some possibilities for the root of our sons anxiety and attention concerns. Dr. Ali has been able to diagnose our son and help him accordingly. He has met with us regularly to monitor and help our son with his meds. I particularly like how he listens to our son and considers very carefully what is important to him. We are so grateful for his excellent care and knowledge. Angelique is always so helpful too and responds to us quickly! If there's a way to give Dr. Nguyen's office a 10 star review, you best believe it'd be there! Dr. Nguyen is the 𝐁𝐄𝐒𝐓 dentist in town! If you guys are anywhere in Georgia and have been looking for a dentist that you can trust, has exceptional service and skills. This is 𝐓𝐇𝐄 place to go. – Growing up, I've always had some problems my teeth. Whether it's cavity fillings, deep cleanings, wisdom teeth removals, you name it. After my wisdom teeth were removed more than a decade ago, I thought, "That's it! That's the last major thing I would ever have to go through, and I'm all good to go!" Boy, was I wrong. Over a span of years from jumping dentist to dentist, I can honestly say, I would only go if they had a good cleaning deal that you'd get once in awhile handed out into your mail box (if you've done this too, no shame. we've all been there). If they told me that I had to get a filling, I'd be quite reluctant and push things off until I really felt the need to go. As time went by and as my body went through a lot of stress and changes, I was left with a complicated/almost hopeless case of root canals, an implant and many cavities to be filled. – After meeting Dr. Nguyen, he was able to give me a thorough examination of what was happening and most importantly, he took a chance on me with my case. I felt very relieved and relaxed throughout the entire procedure with the help of the nitrous gas, the numbing done, and the clean and cozy atmosphere. Dr. Nguyen emphasized that each tooth is like a vessel connected to our body. So if one tooth is infected/not treat, it can manifest in a whole lot of health issues that shows up in our body otherwise. Dr. Nguyen is very honest, have a detailed treatment plan and truly cares for his patients. He takes time to educate his patients and truly listens to your questions and concerns. His staff is amazing! They are great at communicating and the hygienists are very thorough and gentle. The technology that his office has is 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐋 where they produce a 3D image of your skull, mouth and teeth that helps uncover anything that is hard to see with the naked eye. My teeth are in excellent shape and I actually look forward going to the dentist now! Have you ever looked forward to going to the dentist? I DO NOW!!! I grew up with problem after problem with my teeth, always felt discouranged going to the dentist but found I avoided the dentist until there was a terrible emergency( BAD PLANNING! GET YOUR TEETH CLEANED!) Dr. Nguyen is a realistic dentist that is so proud of the team he has built to care for their patients. He stresses that those 2 cleanings/year can save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars in oral care if problems are caught early on. Prevention is key! If an emergency procedure is needed, Dr. N will always give you OPTIONS for YOUR health. It's amazing to feel in control of your oral health!!! I had a dental emergency and they fit me for an appointment the next day. The environment, staff, dentist's bedside manner, and timeliness of this dental office was EXCELLENT which led to me transferring from my old dentist and I referred a family member that has an appointment next month. I recommend this dental office hands down! Dr. Danny Nguyen did not want to put me through any uncomfortable situations, so he was patient and wrote me medications before he skillfully took care of me.Paula Janelle
