The staff is very helpful from enrolling to making sure you have everything you need for class. MTI has some of the best teachers around! Every teacher I’ve had so far has been super helpful and understanding and go above and beyond to explain every step of the way so you don’t feel lost. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. Overall, an okay community college experience so far from 2019 to 2022 (I took some summers off). The registration process for me was a nightmare. OpenCC upon some of the other processes were buggy, nonfunctional, or unclear. Despite this, I have to give them slack as when I was applying they were revamping their websites significantly. There's a mixed bag of good and bad staff. Some professors will be insanely rude, not understanding, and sometimes not even lecture properly on the topic at hand. Other professors will be really kind, understanding, and actively willing to work with you. Always look up the professor on Rate My Professor!!! Eservices, Canvas, and Counseling are atrocious. Eservices has been buggy at times or down for multiple hours. Canvas is usually a decent online learning tool, but sometimes it can get buggy and is not always accessibility friendly (as seen by not having a dark mode for example). I recall a time when Canvas was down due to the host servers, which are owned by Amazon, were completely offline. Counseling is not always helpful in guiding you to where to go next, will sometimes not even answer calls nor emails, and can get really busy (even with the switch from the old building to the Welcome and Support Center). I suggest looking up some information yourself on ARCs website first before talking to counselors, such as course catalogs or what classes you might take for a specific associates degree. I wish that counseling would still give out PHYSICAL course catalogs, but it is what it is. Finance is usually okay for parking passes, but other services is like pulling teeth. Communication on what is going on campus varies from good to poor. An example of this is when the pandemic began around midterms and there was the report of two people being exposed to Covid on campus, which caused mass panic and multiple people just walking out of class. Parking can sometimes be an issue, so be prepared to walk a little bit. Also, you will need a parking pass from a kiosk or buy a parking pass permit for the semester. Bathrooms could use some work. I recall a time where after flushing the bathroom started to flood. Food choices were fairly solid. If you were going to Starbucks or Subway during lunch, lines would get long. Only food offered on campus now is either from the student store, the cafeteria, the Oak Cafe, or the few vending machines on campus. Off campus, there's quite a few food places around, such as Lis Mongolian BBQ, Chik Fil A, and In-N-Out. The bookstore has been unorganized in the past, but is relatively chilled back and clean nowadays. Be warned that some things will be overpriced, but that's normal for college. Also, don't be shocked if there's a hassle with ordered books or book returns for refunds.Emily “Emma Anne” Branecki

It's almost like 90% of the people who work here will be rude over the phone and tell you to do everything online. They have messed up most of my paperwork, resulting in me having to resubmit residency forms, application forms, proof of ID. Somehow they put me as out-of-state which includes a 900% markup per credit. I went from expecting a $150 bill for a single class and ended up with a $1200 bill. No one wants to help sort it out. No one wants to answer the phone. The website is difficult to navigate. Honestly, I have had a single positive experience with one person in Admissions, and everyone else has been pushy, rude, dismissive, and argumentative. I am considering switching to literally any other school in the district. My partner attends SCC and it's laughable how smoothly they handled his transition back to school, compared to mine. Edit: it should also be noted that I had applied to ARC 4 times since 2013 and never received a welcome letter. I had emailed asking why I applied and was not told anything, or emailed, called – nothing. I got no response. Called last month because I was at my wits end and I am told "I can't give you a student ID number because your application was DENIED." I asked why and she told me she couldnt tell me. I asked for a supervisor who immediately told me "we have the wrong SSN for you, so none of your applications were accepted because it didn't watch our records." My CORRECT SSN, was being rejected. In 8 YEARS NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THIS. Just like they didn't tell me I was listed as out of state, despite submitting residency information multiple times. This school is a JOKEI Illyria

The college is great..,.. the bookstore however is 1 star at best. The school district sub-contracted it out and the new facilitators understand that they have a built in market from people having to use their financial aid or other assorted vouchers from various Govt entities and as a result they practice poor customer service utilizing people that are quite adept at rapid fire litanies telling you why none of the delays or shortages are their concern or problem. In fact in my opinion 90% of their employees that deal with the public are nothing more than thugs and bully's. They take no responsibility for faulty instructions in how to use the new book site with vouchers and tell you that they are "saaaawrrrrry" when they tell you they can't locate your books and give you a date when they will be in. Once again, in my opinion, they are nothing more than petty tyrants and bullies that should have their contract terminated for lack of accountability on their part. Southern California University of Health Sciences is a sham and the employees there are bullies! Don't waste your time, and more importantly your money applying or attending. I applied to both their DC and PA programs and was first accepted into their DC program. After my acceptance, I kept receiving admissions emails regarding my "admission to their PA program." When I called the school to report the irregularity, I was told by Ms Elizabeth Cruz the email had been sent in error. Strangely, Ms Elizabeth Cruz also told me at that time that applicants were expected to be "professional throughout the application process." – Apparently Ms Elizabeth Cruz says this to "everyone" (despite never saying this to me at any time during our previous phone calls before that). It wasn't after I called to follow up on my PA application (months later) that I was told (more so screamed at) by Mr David Coronado, who told me I would not be accepted into their PA program and that my DC acceptance had been rescinded because I had "altered" their admission emails… When I tried to ask where this accusation was coming from, Mr David Coronado refused to let me speak and threatened to report me to CASPA. When I tried to justify the validity of the emails I had received, Mr Coronado raised his voice at me and told me that my opinion did not matter. Well after months of being told I'd get a call back from the dean of the DC and PA program (which never occurred), I was able to settle the situation with the school and obtain an apology. The school did in fact report me to CASPA and I was also able to obtain a retraction for their libelous claim. At this point I have no desire to attend this school and was glad to see the reality about SCUHS before becoming part of the student body. Ultimately SCUHS and its staff lack the professionalism required to operate a health sciences school and SCUHS' action only discredits the legitimacy of the school. While SCHUS is tasked with training our future healthcare providers, the school doesn't seem to know what it is doing at the administrative level…Harold C

I go to this school for chiropractic and am closing in on graduation. My whole cohort feels the same way some teachers are great some are awful. The admin at this school is awful. They change things constantly in regards to events and important classes and let us know days before. Selectives are a complete joke at this school. Sports medicine is a complete joke and there are teachers here who hate adjusting. The gonstead club is banned because it’s too chiropractic for this school. There are numerous alumni who call this place LAPT because we come out of here so good at soft tissue and not at adjusting. This school teaches things the wrong way. Dean fachinatto is the worst dean possible she would not work with anyone to get an in person white coat ceremony without families in attendance. All we wanted was a Facebook live ceremony where we were presented our white coat on camera and put on the coat for our families to see at home, but she would not work with us at all and we were given the worst zoom ceremony ever. She even claimed it would be super special but it was literally our names on the screen being read off on zoom. Do your research on this place before you come.Mick Burney

Do not waste your time at this school, Please stay away, they have poor professionalism, quality of care, rude workers specifically at the billing center. They will tell you one price first and then on the day of payment tell you a 20% increased price. These people are not honest, and will steal from you, mind that if you do pay all this money you will get the worst customer service ever. I submitted a payment plan and never got a response back I had to initiate like hey I'm calling about my payment plan, they really set you up for failure. I asked to speak to a supervisor never got a call back. I cannot believe I had to pay $2,450 for a 100% online course. Be careful with hidden fees! They lie to you and will not help with solving any issues. I dunno if there is a Dean in the school but I have called many different "supervisors" never got an answer or call back, no one ever helped me solve my issue. Extremely disorganized and do not care about you or your problem unless you virtue signal. They don’t even pay some of their employees who handle sensitive documents. School has only self interest; considering they have multiple offices not even located on campus (they’re embarrassed being there). They can’t keep a straight and secure staff, it’s really an embarrassment to the community. They even asked for more funding last election with 4 series of funding already. They’re in more debt than they can shake; thank God for the federal bail out money they took from the rest of America. Community college is something most people take for granted. As a Yuba College alumni, I received a high-quality education at a cheap price. What most people don’t know is that the units you take here can transfer to a 4-year university, which is extremely helpful since it’s expensive. Another aspect that makes Yuba College an excellent choice is the quality of education. In university, you are one of hundreds of students and here I got to interact with my professors, easily join clubs, and was part of programs that wanted to help students advance in their careers. my two nieces have had nothing but issues. The staff does not follow thru. loses their paperwork all the time. The Professors do not make an effort to help the students. when the Dam was going to break and we were all evacuated. She had a final, but had no access to a computer and the professor refused to let her make it up and failed her. We went to the dean and no one would do anything about it. That was just wrong. A benefit of this place find outstanding professors and good education. Tuition is not bad. This university is a growing university that deserves good reputations, but has dragged down by poor admin, HR, Dept Chair. Academic affair and chair make the whole procedure slowed down and dysfunctional. They keep getting deficits from under-enrollement and have a few million deficits from COM academic affairs and do not take responsibility. They sacrifice well run programs and the fund does not come back. Very low salary. San Francisco's poverty limit is $117K and I believe most are below the poverty level. Vallejo is the most diverse city of white 32%, Asian 24%, Hispanic/Latino 22%, Black/African American, 22%. COM admin and department leadership are far from the demographic diversity. It does not help. Non-compliance is coming back, past faculty who got paid, did nothing and is still on safety committee. The university needs biosafety officer. The university has warm culture and nice. Faculty and students work together and emphasize the culture. On the better side, some are very talented to fix the issues. They are willing to do extra duties for nothing and burn out. They are here for students and teaching. Standing ovation but students do not do well is not teaching. It has flagrant and bizarre academics and professionalism. Correct knowledge is what COM dean and chair say, but not the current state of understanding. If you say something, you will face a group of people who accuses you unprofessional and not collegial. This is how the review goes. This is how the evaluation works. Academics office promoted associate professor with only a master's degree – must have the highest degree is the bylaw. The university does not give resources, weakens faculty and say get the grant. dept chair messed paperwork that costs me $8,000, and continues to mess it up. I take pride in the job but not doing it for compensation! Do you know a short notice cost me a few hundreds? each time I arrange a baby-sitter. They squeeze salary, resource and smash the pride. MSHMS management is unprepared and is manipulative. They allow student bad behaviours. Pharm teaches wrong knowledge. Immuno is awful. The university has nationally recognized professors that can give insights to the whole university. They are the ones that give reputation and lead the university. The department is ready for the next step with better leadership. It has good faculties with quality. It is not for somebody who stays for a stipend creating a cylo-like culture not following policy and regulations. Those create a sub-culture of non-compliance. They make everything very difficult, make small issues big. They blame faculty who is trouble-shooting the problem. Such leadership is not needed. Admin should update the dept and program leadership. Sadly, similar goes to some researchers who are extremely hostile and blame others for their faults. A researcher has nearly no paper published but very critical to others. They spilled something nasty in the lab, did not clean it up, and blame the university. They demand more teaching for job security when losing the grant. It is THEM who make trouble. They come as a group saying unprofessional, but professionalism is not how many say it. Same goes for admin. We need better professionalism standards. IT still keeps breaking down after upgrades. paperwork is kept messing up. facilities give no response, new vending machines still eating money, scheduling is a whole mess. budget is poorly managed- where does faculty fund go? Orders take forever. Learning center CILT is newly developed, but is not well-organized for rapid changes in teaching. Lectures are diminishing. Students seek assistance but are not getting it. They should focus on retention and focus on something nice.dr nik

Classes in the Grad School of Education provide practical information relevant to the classroom. They have a library that is always open, and a number of relevant focus areas for today's teachers. However, they're overrun with bureaucratic drivel removing students from their program multiple semesters in, due to their own clerical oversights during admission and have had people other than the professor run classes. The syllabus and rubrics wont always match up and you'll be denied a grade. Dont ever expect to get the benefit of the doubt, and never delude yourself into thinking anyone there cares whether or not you are successful. You will hit wall after wall with them unless you are the quintessential student without any outside responsibilities or any interference from real life. In short, it is a decent program as long as you don't expect to matter as a human being or a teacher.Meghan Hansford

TUW has exceeded my expectations so far. Not only is communication direct and smooth, the assistance from enrollment counselors like Kim, and academic advisors, is excellent. I begin classes in late August but have been guided in a sense that I feel comfortable and confident about beginning my first term in the Masters of Arts in Family and Marriage Therapy program. From financial aid to registration, TUW staff is there for you along the way. I attended a small private college for 2 years and a public state college for 2 years. Similar to the small college, TUW is available for help and seems to truly care about the success of their students.maya stephen

What used to be a quality, albeit an expensive education at a quality institution has degraded into nothing more than a typical private college, pay your money get your degree. A lot of the instructors are less than knowledgeable about subjects that most persons in the same subject field at a four year degree level would know. Complaints against faculty that are legitimate and provable are met at first with a sweep it under the rug mentality and if a student continues to push the issue, with outright and blatant retaliation. Classes are changed with no regards to the syllabus, instructors are often unreachable, lacking in knowledge and less than professional. They treat their students like garbage. Very judgmental staff and instructors. They tried to kick me out of the school because the vending machine ate my money and I tried to get the item. They lie and fabricate stories to drop you. I was signed up for a weekly zoom meeting that I wasn't told about and they told my instructors and staff that I never signed up and was rude over the phone. None of that happened. All I ever did was work hard and kept quiet but was told that I yelled in a classroom once?? They couldn't provide any proof. Weird and bizarre staff that goes behind your back yet smiles to your face. I commute over an hour to get here and work late night hours I don't deserve that treatment and am disappointed and ashamed of the staff here. Definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you want to be discriminated against the whole time. My experience at Asher College has honestly been the most successful I've been at any level of education previously. The Instructors they assign to us and the way in which we are allowed to pursue knowledge, be it through reading or lectures or hands on trail and error, make not just learning the information possible, but guaranteed! I started the program with Ms Perez as my lab instructor and ended with Ms Patrice. I'm older, laid off from a 25yr career and didn't know what to do with my life let alone where to start. Ms Perez and Ms Patrice made learning so easy, fun and amongst all, they made it interesting and made me feel excited to keep attending. The process at Unitek is easy to complete due to the communication level the staff has with their students. My career advisor, Ms Lisa is great! Ms Lisa Literally held my hand through the exiting process, kept in touch throughout my externship, made sure I was staying sane throughout the process of going to extern, working nights and taking care of my family. Walked me through my application process for a job, held my hand through the interview process, kept in touch throughout the whole process until I got an offer letter!!!! I had a wonderful experience with Ms. Patrice my laboratory instructor and Ms. Perez. Both have mentored me & helped me become the MA I am today. Ms. Lisa Haynes in Career Services is a hard worker & goes to bat for her students. I received a job offer during my externship, that was too good to pass up as a new grad, thanks to her guidance. I recommend taking your MA in the day class as the PM class lacks structure & professionalism with one particular teacher…that is the only reason I left off a star. The school itself has a fully functioning lab for clinical experience, is safe, clean, holds dinners or gives treats for student morale and tuition is less than other schools in the Bay Area.Jennifer Wills

Had my first ever visit at New Essence Dentistry last week and was really impressed. Everyone there was super friendly, the office was clean, and the check-in process was easy and streamlined. I did get some unfortunate news that I'll need to have a bit of work done, but the dentist took the time to explain the issues, pointing them out on the x-rays. She also suggested a few products to help with tooth sensitivity. I attended UEI last year. My program was medical billing and insurance coding. I want to thank my professor Mr. Bruce, for not giving up on, always pushed me to succeed even when I felt I was asking questions in the class when I felt no question was too small or too big because he answered all my questions. I decided to try this school, only went a couple times and during that time they let go off my teacher and when the tablet they gave me was messing up they said they would fix it and give it back. I had asked for help on how he was gonna continue online classes they were no help. So I decided this wasn’t the school for me. I called to drop the classes and they said that would be okay. Hadn’t heard from them in months til I randomly get a text welcoming to “my first day” and it wasn’t til I received an email asking me to pay my first payment did I call them and try to ask what was going on. Get some info on why this was happening. While on the phone with them they were very unprofessional, instead of just answering my questions and moving on they made it seem like I was a burden that I wanted to see what was going on. Got transferred to another woman, she tells me something then hangs up on me. I call back and even the main desk hangs up on me. Call again and sends me to a voicemail system like how unprofessional can you guys be! You guys are supposed to be about helping and making your students succeed but when it really comes down to it. Stay away from this school….ghetto, unprofessional, and a BIG waste of time and money. GO TO CARRINGTON or a different more professional school!! Half of the staff here has quit, they are extremely unorganized, school is overpriced for the education you are given, there were fights every week in the medical assistant program as if it were a middle school or even high school. Graduation was held in a parking lot because I assume they waited to long to book a venue, certification at the end is not a real degree its a thin piece of paper and looks extremely corny to the point my employer made fun of it. Not sure where this tuition money goes but for $19,900 I would expect better certification, a real graduation ceremony, and tools such as books, computers, programs that allow you to practice medical billing etc not a $72 kindle and books that can't leave the classroom. Also keep in mind compared to Carrington and MTI who only has 150 externship hours, UEI requires 250 hours for the medical billing department. Cambridge Junior College truly is an amazing learning environment. Before I enrolled I had my doubts just like everyone else but after actually going in and meeting Betty the admissions at Cambridge I felt at ease. Everyone there was really dedicated to making sure I got the best experience and that I left there with everything I needed to succeed. They really believe in you and have your best interest at heart. They gave me the confidence I needed to succeed. I'll give 3 stars for the overall hands-on exam experience. I won't recommend the RQI to everyone. Maybe it is better to get the instructor lead course. RQI (Resuscitation Quality Improvement) tests your skills with a VAM (Voice Assisted Manikin). I'm 5'8'' and this was a horrendous experience. I could not raise the bed to perfume the CPR or I at least I did not see any instruction on how to do so. In relation to the table, I was either too tall or too short. Even the stool was doing little to assist. During the rescue breathing it became more difficult. The space is too tiny, or the setup was put up incorrectly. The adult manikin's head was pointing toward the cabinet. While crouched to provide rescue breathing, I could barely function between the bed and the cabinet. I strongly advise them to relocate the table to the center of the room rather than the corner. By the way, it was difficult to comprehend and follow the audio instructions. And I suppose that's why so many people fail the test 4-5 times before passing it, because with that kind of teaching, you're just stunned right there. Seriously, how could I get out of that cramped space into CPR position in less than 5 seconds unless I threw the mask on the floor on my way to the table? If I did, the next time I had to perform rescue breathing, I'd have to hunt for the mask on the floor first, which would take longer than 5 seconds!Ramsey Alizadeh

I took CPR/BLS training today for the first time ever and the instructor, Wendy Simmons, was very informative and humorous. She gave a lot of great tips and tricks that are easy to remember and my classmates were helpful as well. Also, the class environment followed COVID safety guidelines and felt safe. It didn't take very long to receive the certification – I received it on the same day I took the class. I like that they send text reminders about when your training is and how easy it is to navigate their website for information. I will be coming back to renew my certification in 2 years. SUMMARY: GO GET A VASECTOMY from Dr. Patel! 18 mins is all it takes❤️ The entire team is both professional, compassionate and just all around nice human beings. Zero pain post procedure, minor discomfort for a couple of days (which is 100% my doing). Your also taking an active role in your family planning and not leaving up to your spouse to take pills 💊 daily or other methods to prevent pregnancy, this is so easy, so why not! Pro Tips: 1). Follow Dr. Patel’s instructions and read the FAQs 2). Just schedule it asap (if your the type to over research like me, the longer the wait the more anxiety your going to cause yourself! 3). Dont read other reviews for vasectomy procedures or outcome results/pictures, I did and was like what the….turned out those are from the more involved procedure, Dr.Patel’s no scalpel method is the way to go for sure! 4). Do not, do not, do not do think you can be 100% normal post procedure like me. The numbing agent makes you feel invincible for a bit…as a father to little kids boy did I mess this one up, just take a few days and you’ll be great, even my over activity didn’t cause anything other than minor discomfort 5). Don’t get psyched out about the pain, about the possible embarrassment, there was no pain and the entire team is so welcoming I never felt uncomfortable and simply felt like they cared about me! 6). Full disclosure you will have weird twinges (best way I can describe) of discomfort for a few weeks…I’m 3 months post procedure and I would have ZERO idea this was done, for the first month I felt things shifting but just different, not painful. 7). Sex is amazing afterwards! With zero chance of pregnancy it’s just more fun! 8). Tell your family and friends, talk to your sons and daughters, this is just part of family planning, it should not be taboo. 9). Healing time for the small entry points, maybe 7 days and then you could not find a mark, it’s like it didn’t happen. If I think of anything I forgot I’ll edit/update.Max Carlson

Dr. Arman & all of the staff are a safe space for me. I was pretty skeptical about going to a chiropractor with my migraines and back issues because my medical team didn't (and still doesn't) have a proper diagnosis and it's taken forever to even get in to see a specialist, but I'm so grateful to myself that I actually acted on the recommendation and got my first adjustment. I've been a patient at The Joint Chiropractic for over a year, and my neck/hands/low-back pain have decreased. It's true what they say. You must treat your adjustments as part of your lifestyle to see the best results. Dr. Arman is the clinic director, and she's been primarily my adjuster at this location. This school only cares about the money you pay them. I remember the director contacting me so many times in a week to pay my past due. I was still waiting for my VA benefits to kick in. Then I was told if I don’t pay by this date, I will be removed from the program. So I applied for a loan to pay off my past due. After that I was never harassed again. I expected a lot from this school. From great didactic instructors to clinical instructors. But that did not happened. I only had one good didactic instructor. My clinical instructor was lazy and always complaining. The leadership did not care about you. Just their well being as a school. Your grades don’t matter. Also they did not care if you are a military veteran. There were times that I had to clock in using my phone which is not allowed, but my clinical instructor was always late so I couldn’t clock in using a computer. I was removed from the MRI program because I was DISHONEST. Instead of helping you to improve, they just remove you from the program because they got what they needed from you. MONEY! No kind of remediation whatsoever. Just after your MONEY. You’re better off with Unitek where they care about their students emotionally, spiritually, and personally. Being a nurse is way better than being an MRI tech.👎Ervan Valdez

I applied to the Gurnick Academy ultrasound technology program ( San Mateo campus ), At first I was getting constant email reminders to complete documents before the deadline date . After I completed everything I had an panel interview set up , the interview went well overall but I was asked a certain question that I didn’t completely understand and when I hesitated ( and felt nervous ) the interviewer rudely responded with frustration at my delayed response . At the end of the interview they informed me that I would receive a response within 3 weeks. Within a few days I received an email demanding that I complete a financial aid form within that day “ just in case” I get into the program even though I hadn’t received an acceptance letter. Well.. 3 weeks passed and I sent a follow up email kindly thanking everyone that attended the interview for there time and consideration . I didn’t get a single reply back from that email , a month after the interview day they emailed me informing that I didn’t get in and should try applying next year . The negative reviews I read after the fact are correct , it seemed like they were only after money .Amani Abdaw
