Review Summary
I have had a wonderful experience at the Texas Health and Science University. They provide affordable education in traditional Chinese medicine and business sciences to students from Central Texas and overseas. The Texas Health and Science University hires the very best faculty from top-ranking Chinese medical universities and business administration programs. Students travel to work and study at the Texas Health and Science University from many different states and foreign nations. The Student Government hosts super fun events. The students, faculty and staff are all very friendly, welcoming and down-to-earth. The faculty and student interns provide outstanding healthcare at the Austin Acupuncture Clinic. Come to Texas for a great education.Ryan Haecker
Dr. Yu and Dr. Cao are amazing acupuncture teachers. It’s a shame that acupuncturists aren’t considered physicians because the truth to medicine lies here. I highly recommend anyone/everyone to consider getting acupuncture for their body as well as maintaining their energy levels and physical well-being. Love the staff here, the student interns really know what they’re doing, and it’s a magical place to shift your mindset when you first come in, to after you are done receiving acupuncture and you feel refreshed. I have left the clinic with no cramps, neck pains, and other bodily pains. It’s truly amazing how acupuncture makes one feel after they try it.Angeliq Flores
Few months after I got my Master Degree from Texas Health and Science University, I got my acupuncture license. Now I have been doing Acupuncture for few months. Great school to attend. I learned a lot from the Professors and made a lot of lifetime friends from this school. I would definite recommend this school for everyone who would like to seriously study acupuncture & Chinese medicine, and become acupuncturist who helps people with their health problems. :- )Caleb Li

Review Summary
As a fairly recent former student, I can say that AC provides very little opportunity. I left AC after I landed on medical leave, and eventually I decided not to go back. I spent some time at my local jr college while working through my health, and the academics were far superior, the teachers had more experience and it provided me with far more opportunities than AC ever did/would've. Seriously, TCC was harder than Austin College, and after one summer course there I had a halfway decent job in my field of study. The freshmen C/I classes at AC are pointless. The "boardroom setting" offers no value. In depth discussions about the use of the word "blobs" in a short story will not prepare you for the professional world nor will lectures supporting the homosexual beastiality fetish shared between Scooby and Shaggy. The small class sizes lead to several problems, a major one being favoritism. The staff is very unprofessional and unreliable. As far as student life… the Greek system is local. The student body is eclectic, but everyone mostly stays sequestered within their own little groups and it kind of has the vibe of a really snooty private high school — split down the middle between rich kids with unimpressive academic records vs genius level scholarship students. They don't offer athletic scholarships, so their athletes are given "academic scholarships" and this has created an infestation of mediocre students that cost the school money. A lot of the kids have learning disabilities and/or social/mental problems. One girl asked me how to spell "easier" and another (that I had only known for a few days) went into full detail about her depression and suicide attempt. I told my RA about this out of concern and she implied that these types of encounters are not uncommon. The student center is tiny and there's really nothing to do in there except play pool or darts. The cafeteria food is shoddily prepared, and the campus is located in a residential area, so to go out to eat or hit the grocery store, you have to have a car. It's a very claustrophobic and unclean environment. We (the students) got sick a lot. My friends and I were stranded twice by that bus thing when it never returned to pick us up and take us back to campus. Yeah, not the best student life really and the professors are pretty inconsistent when it comes to giving help and being available… and sometimes downright spiteful towards their students. AC was very frustrating. It doesn't have the best student life and the professors are extremely inconsistent when it comes to giving help and being available. I had an awful experience with a media professor who was downright spiteful, sent long e-mails with abrasive language while refusing to meet with me in person and didn't read the rough draft of my final paper, just gave it a 100, and this led to issues with the final that highly affected my grade. It's not a terrible place for pre-med students, at least as far as straight up academics, but most (and most of the students overall) really hated it there. All the things AC claims as its advantages are actually extremely destructive. Go to Southwestern or Baylor instead.Amanda Norman
contrary to positive reviews from alumni claiming I never attended college here, I did. This is a terrible college. It's not even accredited from the state of Texas what I can tell. I graduated from this school in 2009. This place is a ripoff that claims it teaches you something by asking you to learn… Except you pay them to teach. They often destroy students futures. attending school here opened no 'doors' for me, in fact it closed many for me. since starting college here, people have refused to interview me for jobs on the grounds that I don't have a 4 year degree when I do. There's no campus security (2 meter maids are the entire acpd), the food in the cafeteria will give you dysentery and is often rotten, the career services office is completely unhelpful and spent a lot of their time insulting me and yelling in my face, and the student body is rude unkind and down right threatening. I was assaulted on campus my freshman year, and the school didn't even do anything about it, in fact the Vice President of Student life (Tim Millerick) did a lot to obfuscate justice and prevent sherman texas police from getting involved. I have since started attending community college in Dallas Texas and at UT arlington and have received a far better education there for much less money! Seriously, Austin College cost me $117k over 4 years and ruined my life! don't go to school here! Since graduation I have received threatening phone calls from Tim millerick every couple of months, and I have repeatedly called the police in regards to this. 9 years of death threats over the phone is inappropriate, unethical, and illegal. The school should fire him.Preston “289pettit” Pettit
Austin College has never been anything, but a positive experience for me. As a sophomore, I’ve fallen in love with the academic opportunities on this campus. The class work may be challenging, but AC never leaves you without a support system. With small classroom settings, professors are available to help with lessons or assignments all throughout class. Office hours are always available for outside help and there are even of free tutoring opportunities. As far as extra curricular activities, there are tons of them! Between Greek Life, personal expression clubs, language clubs and service groups… no interest goes unmet. If Greek life or clubs aren’t your thing, CAB (Campus Activity Board) makes sure there are events almost every night for students to take a break and relax with. Campus life is great, but to help prepare us for graduate life as well, Career Services strives to get every student career-ready. They offer Career-Readiness Checks, mock interviews, internship opportunities, resume critiques and more to ensure that every student feels prepared for the real world after graduating. Opportunities are endless here. I’m confident that by the time I leave Austin College, I will be better because of it.Pluto Princess

Review Summary
Overall this is an amazing school. All the staff members are always there for you and they always strive to go above and beyond the call of duty. The school in general is a fun environment to actively retain and learn all the necessary aspects of the type of trade you are trying to obtain. I wish all higher learning schools would be like this school. The Instructors are so knowledgeable and so patient with every student on the right teaching method so everyone can feel like they are learning. I have never felt so accepted at a place even though I had no knowledge what so ever of the materials being taught. They hire only the best and retain these great staff members. The curriculum is on pace with all other schools and probably rivals them as well. I am so appreciative of the amount of caring for every student gets the right type of education at the school. The only thing that I might say they could do better is that because of Covid and some other arising issues is that sometimes the class had to do some maintenance work around the school that was not planned in the curriculum and we really did not learn on those kind of days. We did not mind it much and always did help out, but felt like we had no choice. This is not a complaint, but an opportunity for the school to address the issue. Maybe they could implement this into the curriculum and let students know that there may be some days like this that may arise, so that all students are aware issues like this may arise. I am really sad to leave, but know that I am prepared for what lies ahead in my future. Thanks again to all the Staff, Instructors, and last but not least The Owner of the School. I can see why they got a Seal of Approval from the White House.Amir Mahboubi
I must say that the moment I spoke to Shawn Jamali over the phone in March of 2014, my life changed. He motivated me to come on in to show me what Austin Career Institute could do for my life. The training was awesome. The staff and also the things that the work force offered as well. The tools and the laptop gave us the ability to learn and graduate. The first class that he instructed and we are awesome. I jumped into remote command HVAC where I controlled units throughout different cities from a command center. I moved on from there using my Austin Career Institute's knowledge to land a job in the Artificial Intelligence Robotics field to drive and program self driving autonomous cars. I traveled the United States promoting the self driving technology while also performing trouble shooting and wiring techniques that I learned in school. I am continuing my journey in robotics as a technician with self driving forklifts. My journey has been amazing. I owe a huge thank you to Shawn and his amazing team. I'm forever grateful. Thanks.Larry Campbell Jr.
After a change in careers, I had an opportunity through the Texas Workforce Commission . I was asked to review several schools before making a decision on where I would take the HVAC. I met with the Administrator, who was very down to earth and was able to explain the value of coming to school here ACI, I received tools to start me with off in the trade. The instruction is great for a majority, if not all, styles of learning.A BIG plus for me is the hands on training that we are receiving when it comes to learning the different concepts that we are going through. The additional benefits include the teacher very professional help me create my resume and job searches…In 2 more weeks I will be graduate at school and today I got a company hiring me as HVAC Tech, I so happy… Thanks Mr Shawn. I would highly recommend this school for those who want an opportunity for a new career.Tony Phan

My career service advisor was great! Ms. Alexandria Vela helped me tremendously on my job search. She was one of the people from the campus who have always been very helpful. She has always been very attentive with me and always checked in, during and after my externship, and now that I'm hired she has continued to check in. She helped me apply for jobs and even walk me through interview questions. Eventually I did get hired and I cant thank her enough!estefania castillo
May I express, I was worried about joining this institution, I hadn’t been in school for a while but when I first visited everybody made me feel so welcome with a constant smile on their face, I felt encouraged and wanting to be in class. Dr. Navarro is very knowledgeable and she sure makes sure we’re updated with our work. I really recommend for you to visit CHCP institution, don’t just take my word for what I just experienced.Browneyes

I’m in Mrs. Emily’s, CMA (certified Medical Assistant) morning class from 9am-1pm. I’m currently one of the ambassadors for my CMA program and I have met many interesting people while representing my class. I started the class on January 6th of 2022. I currently reside in killeen/Harker Heights, TX., area. I choose to attend the Austin area Cybertex after visiting the reviews online and the school. I learned that the teacher for the Austin location was also the director of the school, this let me know that she had a vested interest in her students success and I was correct. Mrs. Emily is beyond helpful and interested in her “babies “ students learning and understanding each subject matter. I drive and hour and 20 minutes to get to class and haven’t missed a day as of yet because of the encouragement of Mrs. Emily and the subject matters interest me and I don’t want to miss anything. I could have chosen to go to a number of other CMA that were closer to home but I drive here because of Mrs. Emily and her teaching style. If you are looking to get your foot into healthcare or trying to get a leg up on getting into a competitive nursing school program, like I am, this is an awesome place to start and an amazing instructor to learn from. Thank you Mrs. Emily.First Lady
Making the choice to attend CyberTex has been one of the best decisions I have made. From day one, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and ensured that any concerns I had were addressed and I truly felt I was in good hands and not just a number like at other institutions. The instructors are welcoming and knowledgeable. They truly take the time to make new students feel like an asset to the school. Specifically Mrs. Emily, the director and day-time instructor for the CCMA program makes the learning process engaging for students with all levels of medical background. She always goes above and beyond to ensure that the content used in class is relevant and does not shy away from making necessary correlations between the curriculum and real life applications. Her extensive experience and enthusiasm for the field is ever-apparent and makes for a truly refreshing learning experience that every classroom should aim to mimic. The work she assigns is of a level that effectively reinforces the material covered in class but also allows for students to maintain a good amount of time for life outside of school. I am thankful that she tailors the course to not only the end of course certification tests, but also to the limits of what we as students are wanting to learn.Kameron Hill
If you are contemplating on attending CyberTex for the Medical Assistant (MA) Program, just do it! Mrs. Emily Winston, Director of the MA Program and the instructor of the day class. Mr. Bell is the instructor of the night class. These two instructors are not only awesome, but make an awesome team. They compliment each other as teaching partners as they both teach in their own different ways, but yet, have the same purpose….helping and teaching their students. Classes are packed full of the Body Systems and much much more that will get you ready for the CCMA Certification. I am in the day class with Mrs. Winston and the way she teaches for a slow , old timer (like me) is perfect!!! I didn't go to college as school wasn't for me. Although, since being in Mrs. Winston's class, I am at 100% with my grades which is absolutely amazing and all thanks to her and her teaching style. If I can do it, anyone can. Our class is a fun bunch. Add Mr. Bell from the night class into our day mix and man oh man….we are rockin'. Labs are hands on. We practice injections and drawing blood on each other, the real deal. Come join the MA Program, you won't regret it!!!!!!!Elaine Vinklarek

Review Summary
I am a cardiologist and a retired physician due to an automobile accident. Recently my family underwent care at Austin Preferred. We have had care at other places in the city for various orthopedic issues including physical therapy. Dr. Fluitt did extraordinarily thorough examination. He is caring capable doctor and does not make you feel rushed. His team including Jordan , Sarah , Lisa, Caleb , Nick Jordan are really excellent at assessment and therapy. We have had therapy at other places and honestly the others are often a mill where they see multiple patients simultaneously per provider and then are documenting half the time as well. This team does what is needed but the atmosphere is not chaotic or rushed . Lastly the front desk including Mika (and others I forgot names right now ) are excellent at keeping track of the appointments, obtaining records etc . Really a first class operation. As a physician the highest recommendation is to say that a clinic or provider’s care is good enough for our family . I highly recommend them for physical therapy and chiropractic care.Dr Matt Phillips
Absolutely life-changing! If you are even thinking about making an appointment, just do it. I began my journey with Dr. Fluitt and team back in Aug/September of 2021 and it was the best decision. They have helped me improve mobility & strength and reduce pain in my back, hip/knee, and shoulder (many of them old injuries). There is no shortage of cutting edge treatments or qualified people in this office. I love that I don't have to go to more than one place to get Chiropractic services, Physical Therapy, injections, etc. They schedule everything you need during the time you are there! The office has wonderful energy and I genuinely enjoy going there in the mornings. I truly feel heard about my treatments and progress. I also think they differ from other places in that they go a step further from just reducing pain or making a joint/muscle functional — they understand that you want to get things back to prime condition (working out, etc.).Jourdan Wilke
I have been going to Austin Preferred Integrative Medicine for about 7 weeks now. I found them through Google and scheduled an appointment due to their great reviews. I have NOT been disappointed! All of the staff is very friendly and down to earth. The environment is comfortable and quiet. The physical therapists have helped heal my nagging running injury quickly and kept me motivated along the way. I feel so much healthier and stronger now. I actually look forward to every appointment! I highly recommend Austin Preferred!Lara

Review Summary
(Same review shared on Yelp) Short story: Cannot speak to any physicians other than Dr. Alcocer and his office, but the care I received was extremely poor and his staff and office were impossible to communicate with (a necessity due to his repeated errors). The front desk and other miscellaneous staff were generally nice and competent however. Long story: I was seen by Dr. Alcocer for extremely elevated liver enzymes and severe fatigue. Dr. Alcocer was dismissive and attempted to diagnose me with simple fatty liver, which did nothing to explain my AST/ALT levels which had gone from 5x the upper limit of normal to 15-20 times the upper normal limits over a few weeks. He ordered imaging that made no sense after which his nurse told me, over a portal message with no follow up that I had "very severe liver damage" and stage 3 fibrosis. This would be pretty remarkable for an otherwise reasonably healthy 27 year old, but they seemed unconcerned: apparently it didn't even merit a phone call or any other information. After fighting for a biopsy, it took an additional 3+ weeks to schedule because he messed up the orders, then didn't order required blood work, then didn't order the correct blood work (his office required 5-10+ phone calls and messages per error to get each corrected. Bonus points for the one person who lied and angrily told me the orders I had been calling about for a week had already been posted on the portal….time stamp from when the order was uploaded? One minute prior. ). One giant needle to the liver later and it turns out I do not have stage 3 fibrosis and probably was exposed to a toxin or a virus that caused the massive liver inflammation. We'll never know because the biopsy was ordered 3 months after it started. Didn't stop him from referring me to a clinical trial though: I hope the referral fee he likely got from that was worth it!B C
Dr Arastu related medically and personally professionally. Unfortunately, she doesnt see to be supported for real caring of my health. When I tried to reach her, Dr Arastu's name is not on the triage nurse list. Dr Arastu booked a major exam for cancer detection Oct 3rd. Her order did not arrive at the clinic at the time confirmed for the proceedure. She said she booked it, but the clinic didnt receive it. I fasted , did the meds, and wasted my time, energy and health. She apologized. She said results of cancer biopsy available in 2 weeks asked me to see her in 3 weeks but then her staff said she would not be available for 1 ½ months. Staff is curtious and trying to work me in earlier. But clearly you are understaffing and not managing the support for the patient..Patty Stephens
My wife has been dealing with this Doctor since June. It is now the end September and he has NOT seen her and been giving her the run around. They scheduled a zoom meeting. We logging in and WAITED for 30 minutes and nothing. We then we're sent out to do lab work which was done INCORRECTLY. We were not notified for 3 weeks. After wondering what is taking so long, we find out it was the wrong test and we need to go back and do another. They failed to notify the patient and I had to come in person to get things done. She has had Crohns since she was 12. They tell us the PA only recently got in contact with the nurse for a week. It has been 3 months. This is neglect on both staff and the clinicians themselves. Rather drive back to Dallas than deal with this.Joey Rodriguez

I feel like I can't put into proper words how amazing Kind Clinic is. Even throughout 2020, they pushed through and served their clients, and did so phenomenally. I love seeing Steven, as he is attentive to my needs or concerns, and even my rambling, while also keeping to the point. Ryan is consistently an extremely responsive and and helpful advocate. Even if they don't know the answer to something, they will do their best to find out and get back to you. The resources that Kind Clinic provides access to or information about, beyond the basic health services they themselves provide, is also quite valuable. The lab guys are pretty fun, too. I always have a great experience with staff at Kind. All in all, I don't know if there exists a better clinic that offers what Kind offers. Thanks for all that you guys do.TJ
I initially started going here about 2 or 3 years ago for a random check-up. I’ve never been able to stop going. The staff is beyond amazing and the organization offers accessible testing and treatment for any persons regardless of health insurance coverage or lack of it. I was able to start Prep free of charge and they care to ensure you are doing well in all ways possible! I’ve never felt more cared for in respects to health than I do when I go into Kind Clinic. If you’re looking for a safe place to feel cared for, loved, and to get the help you need; this is the place to go!Isaiah Perkins
I’ve had 2 experiences with them, they’re extremely friendly and make you feel comfortable in awkward situations in both situations I spoke to the medical assistant both really friendly and we were just talking about life. They make sure to grab all the tests and medication you need without hesitation, if you have any questions they make sure it’s all answered before you leave. It’s a judgement free zone, they’re non for profit and deserve to be funded for their amazing servicesBob Fillet

Just had my total hip replacement with Dr Manuel and his PA Allison. She is very professional and smart. I had been a patient of Dr Carters for maybe 18 years. He did a great job on my hips. I put off my knee due to being scared and it got so bad but I missed my window with Dr Carter due to illness and covid. Then Dr Carter retired and I was sad but happy for him. He so deserved it. I did not know what to do. Dr Carters surgical coordinator Cheryl who knows me made it clear that both of their doctors were great only I could make that decision. So I made an appointment to meet Dr. Manuel. Great guy hit it off with him right away and knew he was the one. Dr Carter's PA Alex knew me for a number of years but I felt like Dr Manuel was the one and I liked Allison. What a Great office and staff. Cheryl the surgical coordinator helped so much on a number of questions and decisions. She was my go between with Allison. Cheryl was prompt on responding to my emails. Allison was prompt with a response. Great team work. THANK You DR Manuel. Great staff and surgical support. Thank you Dr. Lima my anesthesiologist! The best!!! It has been only two weeks due to great care at St David's main and Dr Manuel. Can't say enough. I am doing so well. CORRECTION THIS WAS A TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT NOT HIP!Carol F
First, I don't write many business reviews – I think this is my 3rd or 4th, ever. But the remarkable quality of care and improvement in my quality and enjoyment of life from receiving two hip replacements in 2021 at the St. David's Center for Hip and Knee Replacement in Austin, Texas is so important, that I want to share my extremely positive experience with anyone who may be considering whether, or not, to have their own hip replacement performed. My recovery has been rapid – a breeze, really. The surgeons and staff are highly experienced and inspire great confidence. And, the nursing staff devoted to providing care for patients recovering from orthopedic surgery at St. David's are well-trained, experienced, and very attentive. Even the dining options are solid. Following my first hip replacement in late Spring 2021, I was pleasantly surprised by my rapid recovery. So, my expectations for the second replacement in late Summer 2021 were very high, and I am very pleased with the results. Thanks to everyone on the team!Jeff Hunt
Dr. Romero at the Center for Knee and Hip Replacement is my hero. I was scheduled for a full hip replacement with Dr. Carter, but a few days before my surgery he was stricken with Covid and could not operate. I had been working with Cheryl and Alex arranging the details of my surgery and they were able to seamlessly move me into the care of Dr. Romero. I was even able to keep my original surgery date! Their ongoing care and professionalism helped me feel confident that I was in the best care possible. I also knew that Dr. Carter would only work with the best. Dr. Romero did an amazing job. The hip pain I’ve had for years is gone and I’m no longer limping. I was able to transition from a walker to a cane in a week after my surgery and am looking forward to getting back to an active life without pain soon. If you are having hip or knee pain don’t hesitate to reach out to Dr. Romero at the Center for Hip and Knee Replacement. It will be the best decision you have ever made for your health.Laura Kay

Remember when you would go to the doctor and they spent time with you, talked with you, answered all your questions, and didn't make you feel like they were in a hurry, this is the service you get from Dr. Porter and his medical assistant. The membership program offered is a great alternative to insurance. He is upfront and honest regarding fees. You can be assured you will not leave with a large bill you did not expect. For my 1st visit I feared going in thinking it was just going to be an in and out process and I wouldn't get my questioned answered just like other doctors, BUT I was WRONG! This experience was by far the best visit I've had in a very long time!!! From the moment I walked in and was greeted by Edwin the process was very smooth. They way Susanne sat there and actually paid attention to me and went step by step with the process of starting to feel good about myself was AMAZING!! I'm so happy with the choice I've made by switching to Texas Direct Medical Care. I'm so excited for my journey then I've ever been before 🙂Jazmine Vega

Review Summary
Why does this location have such a high review? They may have good doctors but they are absolutely inept when it comes to scheduling. 4 plus hours wait?? That's not acceptable and if your doctors are busy with deliveries in the operating room or performing surgery then they should not be also seeing routine patients for prenatal care. You should have those doctors focus on delivering babies and conducting surgeries, while you hire other doctors to be present and available at all times to see patients for normal visits. Telling me that you're running behind because a woman gave birth? That doesn't make any sense, that's literally your job and why this location exist. A woman giving birth should be something you expect and plan for, and structure your practice so that you can handle it. Instead here it's being treated as some surprise that delays the doctor from seeing patients for hours on end. It isn't right and it isn't fair, especially since when I'm late for an appointment you charge me a late fee. My time is also valuable, should I be sending you an invoice for the countless of hours you made me wait? Again I want to be very clear, I understand women give birth and need to have surgery, you need to understand that this is an expected part of this branch of medicine and your practice should be structured In a way that this isn't disrupting appointments. One doctor for surgeries and deliveries and they stay there, one doctor seeing normal patients perhaps? Please optimize your logistics.John Doe
Dr. Garcia and her nurses are wonderful! I’m so happy to have such amazing medical professionals looking out for me and my baby. As a first time mom, I had a lot of questions, and Dr. Garcia was always patient and thorough with her answers for me. I always leave her office feeling happy and positive! If I could leave 0 stars for the receptionists, I would. They were insanely rude. The girl that checked us out, ripped the paper out of my husband’s hand, and told him to hurry up. They also scheduled my next appointment with the wrong doctor.Tiffany Vu
I love Dr. Wang! She keeps my best interest in mind so it’s easy to trust her and her recommendations. The office staff are also great! Love the new check in process. My appointment with her today had to be scheduled earlier and there was not a time slot to reschedule my mammogram earlier. As soon as I was done with my doctors appointment, I went and checked in for my mammogram and they were understanding and able to see me right away (instead of waiting over an hour for my appointment time! I’m so appreciative!!Colleen Morris

In my humble opinion, Austin Heart is THE place to go for the most incredible care in the state of Texas! I have been a patient of Dr. Bhatt for several years now and his "team" is the "BEST IN THE WEST! The follow up care, the compassion, and the sincere way that they care for you is "top-notch" in my book. I would not hesitate for one moment to get a referral for this fine doctor and his incredible team. Thank you so much Dr. Bhatt and "Team" for all you to keep my "ticker" going.Rondi Salgado
It's nice to have someone take their time talking to you so you don't get the feeling they're in a hurry to get to the next paying customer. So many times you feel like you're in a cattle chute and being pushed along to let the next bull, or pig go thru. I got the feeling that there was no hurry up going on. Thank you Robert J. Dr. Bhatt and Laura, Dr. Tschopp and Megan are incredibly knowledgeable, kind and caring. They each spend time with me and never rushed. The best medical care for my heart. Compassionate Doctors, Nurses Practitioners, P A’s, Office Staff, Everyone. Wonderful. Thank you!Sandi Wallander

We use Ketamine therapy to treat PTSD, anxiety and depression, and many other disorders. Ketamine is quick and instantaneous with no side-effects and does not appear addictive when administered correctly. It is a great treatment for someone who has tried multiple mental health or pain treatments and now need an alternative medicine. Call us today to learn how to come out of the darkness and into the light."
Review Summary
I was suicidal with bipolar disorder and treatment resistant depression, and I had no idea what I was getting into with ketamine. I was just desperate and chose Illumma purely on reviews and location, as well as the availability of integration coaches and KAT. After a series of 6 infusions, I can’t really imagine it going much better. The entire staff without exception is professional, warm, responsive, supportive, knowledgeable, and caring. From the outside it looks like they all love working there, which says a lot. The facility is clean, cozy, well-lit, smells good. Communications with staff via portal, text, and email were efficient and quick. Illumma partners with a coaching service that was amazing and the integration has been an essential part of the process. Illumma does not just give people shots in comfortable chairs. They emphasize counseling, journaling, meditation, exercise, diet, etc, and they provide assistance and support for this. I requested background research on ketamine and received a list of scholarly articles in less than 2 hrs. It can’t be overstated how important the entirety of all this can be to someone who shows up suicidal. I had one negative experience with a third party partner of Illumma and the staff bent over backward to make things right, fast, without me really even asking for any of it – one of the owners called me directly to check in and express her support. I would steer my closest friends and family to this clinic without any reservation.B. V
A needed reset to chaotic times I've had my bouts with anxiety and depression over the years but the last two years watching the news was severely impacting my mental health. I've always been curious about therapy but my previous experiences with psychedelics have always given me solutions in a faster time period. Although, illegal for the most part, its grown more and more popular. I did not want to go to therapy forever. I eventually landed on Ketamine therapy that I did not know about until recently, and I can't recommend it more to those who struggle with mental health. The team at Illuma were knowledgeable, empathic and always helpful with me. Even when some sessions were challenging, I never felt unsafe at all. The team is deeply invested in helping you but I do recommend that any patient comes with a plan of action before and after you're done. IMO, there is no magic pill when it comes to Mental Health, but it gives you the necessary push forward towards new and positive habits. I've incorporated Breathwork, meditation and cold therapy into my daily life which greatly reduces my anxiety. Only you know whats best for a new, happier and healthier life style. Ketamine therapy allows you to go deep into your sub conscious to do mental work. If you have Jordan as a therapist at your side, you're in good hands but everyone at Illuma are good people doing their best to make a difference, and they are.Edgar Espinal
I cannot express in words how deeply impressed I am with Illumma. Having left another ketamine clinic that was marginal at best, the people at Illumma have been nothing short of amazing. They made me feel like they cared about me and my well being from the moment I contacted them. They spent a generous amount of time conversing with me about my situation and how they could help. They also demonstrated extraordinary professionalism. The Osmind system they use to document, communicate, and assess your daily well-being shows not only do they run a tight ship but also want to make it easy for you to interact with them. My first infusion, which was a booster because I've already had my initial 6 infusions at the old clinic, was as close to a perfect experience as I could imagine. The room was private, they provided noise-canceling headphones and relaxing music of my choice, a reclining comfortable chair, and a medical professional who stayed with me the entire time. I feel like a member of the Illumma family after just one visit. I will be with them for the foreseeable future. Please consider Illumma if you're considering ketamine treatments for mental health.R King

Review Summary
After I quit my teaching job following major surgery and spent the past five years working from home, my hoarse voice (which was usually caused by seasonal allergies) became more persistent and noticeable. I thought my vocal cords had been damaged, bit the had only weakened from limited use. Julia helped me find my voice again by teaching me to breathe properly (Pre-surgery, I had modified my breathing to avoid the abdominal discomfort caused by my illness) and showing me vocal exercises that used the power of my diaphragm instead of my vocal cords. By explaining how voice was produced, Julia gave me the tools I needed to understand the physiology so I could literally feel the difference from how I used to speak. Not only was she patient when I had setbacks, but she also treated me as an equal partner in my treatment. I highly recommend her for adult and pediatric speech therapy.Emmeline Olson
I had the pleasure of spending 8 months with Capital Area Speech & Occupational Therapy as a speech pathology graduate student intern. I consider myself very lucky to have learned from the knowledgeable, caring, and dedicated SLPs there. I was able to witness tremendous progress with a variety of kiddos/diagnoses. They go above and beyond to provide support and education to families. Each session is fun, motivating, and individualized to fit a number of different patient needs. As an intern, the entire staff was always welcoming and rooting for me to succeed. I could go on for hours about how much I love this clinic and the people there! I highly recommend their speech and occupational therapy services. I also encourage other graduate students needing a meaningful, supportive, and challenging, clinic experience to reach out!Jordan Justis
I can not praise this place enough! I had a 2.5 yo with delayed speech. When we started therapy she was not saying mom or dad or even no. We had the privilege of working with Ms Julia. We started with about 3 times a week and dwindled to 1 30 min session a week. Ms Julia has the patience of a saint! Working with a 3 yo there were times all my lo wanted to do was cry but she was able to still squeak out a good session. She even collaborate with her other therapists to make sure my lo was getting the best service during their time together! I was always informed of the goals and we celebrated together as my lo mastered each one. After a year and half of sessions my lo is speaking in complete sentences! So blessed to have worked with such a great therapist and person. Thank you so muchAkira Hunter

"Megan McCoin, MD comes to us from chilly Rhode Island, where she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brown University; but she’s practically a native Texan. Dr. McCoin was born in Park Forest, Illinois, and made several moves before landing in Texas. She graduated from Tomball High School where she found her niche in running, which she enjoys to this day. Dr. McCoin was a member of the track and cross-country teams throughout her high school and college career. Dr. McCoin then went on to attend Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and graduated in 2004 with honors including Phi Beta Kappa. Although she is now in the land of burnt orange, she says she will always be a Baylor Bear at heart!"
Review Summary
Dr. McCoin, her NP and PA are amazing- they are very polite and welcoming. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing about the rest of her office staff. I had multiple appointments scheduled in advance because she fills up quickly! But I got a call later saying I was scheduled with the wrong provider. When I tried to reschedule, she was already double booked. They pinned the blame on me- that they had left multiple messages. No. I got ONE voice mail to call back. While trying to set an appointment over the phone, their exact words were, "I've been on the phone with you for 20min and this is getting nowhere. I have to talk to the doctor to see what to do." I asked for a callback and waited all day. No call. Waste of time. Another instance was trying to set up my 3-hour glucose test. They inform you to be fasting for 8 hours- No problem, I told them I work nights if I could have a late appointment so I can fast after work. Flat out NO. They said they only schedule the tests in the morning. I work 7pm to 7am and 30 weeks pregnant. I have to go through my shift without eating to take this test at the time they want. They did not even try to work with you. It's difficult setting up appointments due to limited availabilities and the staff makes you feel bad when you cannot work with their schedule. I want to switch obgyn I'm so far along with my pregnancy already and Dr. McCoin is the only provider I found that takes my insurance.Amy Louie
Dr McCoin is such a rare find in the medical world. I completely adore her. She is calm, reassuring but extremely good at what she does. I'm an older patient with my first pregnancy and have felt so nurtured and heard through this entire journey. I am so thankful that Dr McCoin will be in the one to deliver our tiny human in just two weeks, there is no better OBGYN out there. She also has a great sense of humor and I look forward to all my appointments with her. Don't waste your time looking around for a different doctor, she is THE ONE!Bianca Carvey
Dr. McCoin is absolutely wonderful. The staff is very nice. There seems to be a lot of miscommunication between the Dr's, the P. A. 's, nurses, labs, and the many different departments. I am not sure that I could begin to say how to make it better. I believe this to be an issue in a vast majority of our clinics all across the states at this time! I hope going forward all clinics will strive for ideal communications. If, someone could figure this out they would be very rich!Jen C

"We’re an independent direct primary care clinic. Our patients pay us an affordable monthly fee for access to care whenever and however they need it along with discounts on services like labs, imaging, procedures (like you might get at an urgent care), medical equipment (like splints, walking boots, and crutches), and medications. The first visit is often an hour to an hour and a half, follow-up visits often last 30 minutes. We communicate with our patients face-to-face, by phone, by secure text and video teleconference and we can communicate with you no matter where you are. Your urgent medical issues will be addressed on the same or next business day. Please call if you have questions."
Review Summary
I cannot say enough good things about Euphora health. Dr. Larson and the team are simply incredible. I have worked jobs that don't provide health insurance for the last two years. This was my saving grace since I don't have health insurance. I've had an ultrasound done, mole removal, labs, bloodwork, and a host of other routine check ins that would've cost an arm and a leg through co-pays. I pay for everything pretty much at-cost. I can't imagine having a health experience any other way. For someone who worries a lot about small things like myself, having near on-demand access to Dr. Larson and the team to answer my questions is incredible. instead of spending time agonizing over things and googling them myself, I get my questions answered almost immediately in a calm manner which sets me at ease. When I've needed to schedule an appointment I've always been able to get in within 1-3 days. When I was going to a physician through insurance it would take weeks to get in. I've waited maybe 10 minutes maximum prior to my appointments. Then when it's time to meet with the doc, you get all the time you need to answer questions. No rush, no pushing you out the door. He always asks if there is anything else you would like to talk about. This review is already pretty long and I could write even more. If you want a team that truly cares about your health, won't jump to conclusions and takes time to analyze before making decisions, and gives you their full attention, you absolutely need to join Euphora health.John Baier
I was a patient at Euphora Health during a period when I was without insurance. It was phenomenal care and an affordable alternative to the traditional payer system. Lucero (medical assistant), Gloria (PA), Martha (medical assistant), and Raquel (medical staff), would reply kindly, promptly, and thoroughly to my inquiries via the Spruce App in regards to scheduling appointments, coordinating specialist care, and checking in with Dr. Larson about test results or other needs. Dr. Larson not only provided attentive and thoughtful care, he also helped me source inexpensive blood tests and imaging services knowing that I did not have insurance (the imaging services were at my request — he did not push unnecessary tests). Dr. Larson was also sure to share test results and his interpretation of results with me as soon as he received them via the patient portal. He made comprehensive and considerate recommendations for my care and always engaged in shared decision-making. This was one of the best medical care experiences of my life and I highly recommend this practice to everyone!Kelseanna Hollis-Hansen
Dr. Larson is great! I've been with him for about 5 years now. If you're looking for high-quality care, this is the place! I've had medical insurance before and frankly the system seems broken, and the care is agonizing, with the long wait times, and then having a doctor just ask the same questions, like they are checking off their list. Dr. Larson has always been easily available. Getting appointments usually happens in a day or two. He's also available via a message platform, and once when I was really sick even texting on a weekend! I appreciate the extra safety measures the team took once the pandemic hit. They are always considerate and helpful in finding low cost alternatives. This level of care is rare and I'm so glad he's here in Austin. They've opened an office in Cedar Park too now. If you're considering joining, do! It will be the best money you can invest in your health.Sheila Janan

Review Summary
I highly recommend Dr. John McDonald of Texas Orthopedics. He operated on my hip in November 2020 for a labral tear and hip impingement. I had experienced a lot of pain over the last 3 years and almost given up on being able to lead a pain free life. As soon as I was referred to Dr. McDonald he knew exactly what my problem was and how to fix it. I’ve been doing physical therapy since surgery and am finally reaching my goal of resuming an active, pain free lifestyle again. Dr. McDonald is extremely professional, is a talented surgeon, gives thorough explanations, and answers any/all questions at every office visit. His PA Kate is also amazing, knowledgeable and very caring. The office staff is great as well. I had a wonderful experience and have zero regrets for choosing to have the surgery. I will always be forever grateful for Dr. McDonald’s skill.Jamie FELIX
So grateful for Dr McDonald and his team. Was incredibly well-versed in his approach to my injury & had an algorithm for the best possible outcome, tailored quite obviously to each patient but with lots of patient care and experience in his armamentarium. All portions of my perioperative care were top notch. Came geographically quite a ways just to see Dr McDonald, highly recommended by his peers & surgery residents he works with. Am so glad I did.Brittany Bankhead
I would recommend Dr. McDonald to everyone! He is extremely nice and professional. He provided all of the appropriate options for me and gave his professional opinion about my chief complaint to help me decide which would be the best option moving forward. He was straightforward and my surgery was a breeze! No complications thus far and my scars are healing very nicely. His PA is also just as amazing!Haley Rogde

Review Summary
Dr. Richardson and her assistant Alexis were amazing! They are so professional, warm, knowledgeable and caring. They take time to not only listen but also examine the issue thoroughly with explanations, taking into account patient preferences for treatment options (I prefer a more holistic, integrative approach of dealing with root causes of issues rather than just treating symptoms). And they spent time with me that felt easy-paced and unrushed. I have been to many, many dermatologists over the years (have moved several times throughout the country!) and by far this is one of the top dermatology experiences I’ve had. Would absolutely recommend this team and this doctor! So happy I found them 🙂Melissa Avedon
Dr. Patel and the Westgate Skin team are fantastic. The office is efficient and provides a healthy blend of medical and cosmetic dermatology. I had a great first visit with Dr Blakely Richardson, dermatologist, this week. She made my first visit very comfortable. She is very knowledgeable, caring and concerned about my issues. She explained everything very well. I look forward to a long, professional relationship with Dr Richardson and her staff. Thank you, Dr Richardson!Marilyn J Dell

I had a very traumatic experience the last time I had a procedure. I’m not going to the details but I can tell you I delayed my next colonoscopy as long as I could because of the terrible experience. I decided two spend a significant amount of time researching who my next gastroenterologist was going to be. I narrowed it down to one single doctor…her name is Dr. Eimile Dalton Fitzgerald. She has a wonderful bedside manner and she is extremely knowledgeable in her profession and knows how to properly and carefully conduct a colonoscopy. I have much respect for her and I am delighted she happens to practice here in South Austin! I have referred other family to her I know the next time I need care she is the one to call! Thank You Doctor and Staff.Laura Deen
Going in for health checks is not really something anyone wants to do so it’s a whole lot easier when you go someplace where the staff is kind and takes good care of you. From the initial screening via phone, front desk check in, to the nurse setting me up and hooking me up to finally going to the procedure room. Everyone took the time to introduce themselves, tel me what they were there for and answered my questions. I felt safe and well cared for through out.Jennie Montano
I was very surprised and impressed at how pleasant this experience was. I was hesitant about the prep because of a previous experience and Dr Thomas had me to a pill prep that was fast and relatively easy. The staff and facility was top notch and Dr Thomas was fantastic. I left with very little bloating and cool photos of my colon. I highly recommend Dr Thomas!Evy Grace

I have NOT had a good experience here. I will state the reception office staff were nice and professional. I will NOT be back to this office and I would encourage anyone who is referred here or looking to go to Dr. Onon, look for another specialist. He does not seem to care about new patients and seems to be in it for the money. When I was called back to the exam room, the doctor assistant asked me if I brought my current x-ray imaging with me or the report. Well, their office never informed me to ensure I brought that; if I would have been informed to bring it, I surly would have. He looked at me like I had done something wrong and as if I knew I needed to bring this information. Dr. Onon, the doctor I saw seemed to be uninterested in me being his patient. At my very first appointment, I felt like it was rushed and he was dismissive with what I was saying my physical therapist seems to beleive what my issues currently appear to be which was SIJ disorder and I have a lot of these symptoms. I was in there all of 5 minutes. Dr. Onon NEVER asked me anything about my pain, never did any kind of physcial exam with poking or proding. He also never asked what makes my pain better or worse. When I pointed to where my pain was and what my symptoms were, he just told me oh its not SIJ that its sciatica. How does he know without doing any physical examination. I dont have any numbness or tingling or pain below my knee which I told him that. So, I would say the only positive thing is that I was able to get an MRI of my lower back from him. After getting the MRI; I schdeuled a follow up appointment to go over the results with the Doctor. Well, low and behold the day of my appoiontment the doctor didnt even come in to go over the results with me and the doctor was there that day I saw him; and instead his nurse came in. She began reading all the medical lingo directly from the paper and I had to ask her several times to clarify what that means. My husband and I were bombarding her with lots of questions and she seemed to have have a hard time answering them. I was given a referral for two other specialist for pain managment and nerve specialist. Finally at the end of the appointment as the nurse was dictating her notes in my exam room she admitted that my symptoms do not align with the results of the MRI. I was so thrown back by this experience and I felt like as a new patient, why did the doctor not come in??? Was it because I was not a money maker for him because I was not a candidate for surgery??? Why pass me off to other specialist and not come in??? MRI did not show any major things on it that would warrant surgery and the nurse ensured that I knew that. I let my PCP know what my experience was with this doctor and I will be seeking out another speicialist and hopefully this next one will take the time to listen to me as the patient and not be so dismissive about what pain the patient is having.Stacy Mance
What a scam. I saw Dr. Kutzarov twice in an attempt to get surgery scheduled for an old ankle injury. Not only did his staff ghost me and never contacted me to schedule that surgery (despite reaching out to them via the patient portal multiple times), but then I received a bill for a copay that I already paid them. I'm not going to pay you twice for one worthless visit. Again, repeated messages sent via the patient portal were ignored. I tried calling the billing department to get this resolved and was told that the payment is in Phreesia, but has not posted to their Athena software, and for some reason their billing department can't fix that. Was passed on to two different contacts that ended up at a voice mailbox, which I have zero confidence will be returned. Stay far away from this mess.Jamie Atkinson
Fantastic staff, especially the front desk person Laura. Not only was she professional, patient, and compassionate, she went above and beyond to make sure that my doctor referral made it to their office in time for my emergency appointment. I cannot thank her enough! Her exceptional service and kindness made all the difference in my visit. We definitely need more people like her in the medical profession and in the world!Beth Fernandez
