This is a really good school if you’re all about your academics. I’ve had my good times and my bad times here at MCC. Overall on the academic side of MCC I appreciate all of the hard work that most of my professors have done. There are professors here that definitely need to be more qualified with what they are teaching as it has affected my grades when I’ve taken their courses. I am an Honor student here at MCC with a GPA of 3.30 and have never once had an issue with organization skills until my 2019 spring semester. A couple of the professors have been unorganized, no syllabus and sometimes they have other priorities when they have to teach a class in other words they put another professor in place when they have to go to another job. Although these were a couple of issues within my time here at MCC I enjoyed the experience of learning new knowledge for my future career. I really liked a lot of my professors but a couple of them have been a little rough. If you communicate with your professors about your issues that you’re having it really helps and shows that you’re determined to do your work and it shows you care about your work as well. Environment wise I’d have to say it’s not healthy (mentally/physically) and or good for many people. There have been students who have left garbage all over the place and don’t clean up after themselves which leads to maintenance having to clean it all up. With my time here I have helped maintenance clean up other people’s messes so they don’t have to worry about it as much. Also the amount of vaping, drug use, and underage drinking in the lounge is unacceptable and nothing has been done to take care of this issue except shutting the lounge down. I feel as if this does nothing but illustrates that they can go elsewhere within the college and do these things. An authority figure should really take this into consideration and do something about this because it affects others who have nothing to do with these people and it ruins people’s Health. You can smell weed from a mile away and if people have asthma or a health condition this could affect them physically. I do not appreciate this at all and I wish something was done about it. The other big issue environmentally is the fact that the main cafeteria can get very loud and some students have no manners and do not respect others around them. If they are asked to quiet down they do the opposite It has gotten to the point where a lot of people have complained and yet nothing is done to prevent this from happening again. The college needs to have some control over what students do and take action on these issues. I wish that there could be some changes here and I hope for the best for everyone at MCC. Overall it is a good school for your academics but is definitely not a mentally healthy place environmentally. Even if you try to get away and go somewhere else for privacy somehow drama follows behind you. A Tip would be after your classes go home if you can or go to the back of the library in the quiet study room. So I will start with sharing my positive highlights of the fall semester during covid. Some teachers were empathetic to the situation the entire nation went through. Prof. Muldoon did such an amazing job touching base and gaining clarity of students frustration and technical difficulties during this time. Prof Diane. Hillyer OMG if I were ever to be a college professor I’d want to have her passion and dedication. She’s a math angel, truly loves her job and her videos were perfect! Now chemistry online and labs online were a joke!!! The professor did not make enough office hours, used YouTube videos from other teachers, used repetitive templates for each week lesson with no data. If I wanted to learn chemistry that way I could’ve honestly gone on Edx.org for FREE and probably have learned the curriculum better. I might of missed 1 assignment and handed in 1 assignment 10 mins late and didn’t receive the grade or support needed. But unfortunately as a paying student I just have to deal with it, 2k down the drain! Funny thing I am also a teacher during covid and actually work in the building with student and never would I have ever made my students feel isolated like this professor did. I’ve never seen or heard my chemistry teachers voice but I’m pretty sure they got paid every two weeks while there’s probably many qualified teachers that could have done a way better job. I was warned about this professor but I learned the hard way. The school overall has a nice faculty and I feel like the majority do care. This is unfortunate when professor get so accustomed to a repetitive lifestyle because blackboard actually graded my exams so again not sure what some professor did during Covid behind the scene and so-called virtual teaching. This is a a good school to start or to get the credits needed for a post-Bach. I decided to go to a private school with a more dedicated team and more virtual teaching experience.Dignora Castillo

I was a potential international student and found Manchester Community College a great place to go. I called the first time and wasn’t able to talk to the responsible for international students but left my phone number and email. Umesh sent me an email saying he would give me a call. He did, two days later and was rude and impatient since the moment I picked up the phone and was acting like he was doing me a favor to call me. He said I should go back to my country and take my visa there instead of changing my status here, which is not up to him, was questioning how I was gonna become a student and more. I can’t even explain how rude and disrespectful he was to me who was just trying to make an appointment to go to the campus and get more informations in person about fees and the I20. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, specially for international students! Very disappointedRayane Michelle

This place is a perfect example of “you get what you pay for”. I attended September 2009 – May 2018 (with a 3 year gap from 2012-2015). The hospitality teachers and department head were wonderful, and a lot of my general Ed teachers were amazing too and I have nothing but great things to say about the teachers. However, the registrar office and academic advisors were a nightmare to deal with. No one ever smiles, my message NEVER got relayed to the right person, and it was such a headache to deal with offices equivalent to dealing with the DMV. They also claimed that when you graduate you can transfer your credits to a state college which is false. Some of the credits transferred, but classes like Math don’t transfer and I have to take a placement test to get into the same exact math class I took at Gateway and passed the class with an A. The bookstore staff was the most incapable, rude, useless group of people. Graduation was a completely unorganized joke – they told graduates to arrive 2 hours early to stand in a parking lot with no instruction and 1 porta potty for about 300 people. They also only announce 1 of your degrees – so if you have 3 degrees they won’t even take the extra 5 seconds to announce all 3 (I thought graduation was supposed to recognize your achievements?) I would have never wasted my time going to graduation if I knew how pathetic it would be. Parking on campus in New Haven was crazy and the lot constantly overflows into the Temple Street lot so you get to walk in stairways that smell like urine with bums roaming the lot and drunk people stumbling to their car after your class at 9:30 at night with no security guards to get to your car. Literally no security whatsoever like your completely on your own in a public lot in the heart of New Haven. Like most schools, they don’t allow weapons inside the building so you don’t even have a way to defend yourself if you get approached in the lot which will happen at some point. There were also hospitality classes that I had to buy things out of pocket and was promised reimbursement that never happened.Nina Tiso

I loved working with the children in the Early Learning Center, but the adults in the classroom didn't really treat me that well. They didn't really accommodating me that well when it came to tasks such as setting the table for breakfast,lunch, and snack. A coworker got nasty because I wasnt moving fast enough for her. I'm visually impaired and I have to take my time because of my vision. I had to complain about this coworker 2 times. Another thing that didnt make sense was I had to walk to the other side of campus to eat lunch for my 30 minute break. The teacher of the classroom would get mad at me for being late because I am a slow eater and I cant move fast again because of my bad vision. student teachers aren't allowed to eat in the teachers lounge. I shouldn't have had to complain to my boss about eating in the teacher lounge. This place needs to be more accommodating to student teachers with disabilities and staff needs to be more compassionate. I am very glad that I don't work at this place anymore! Beautiful atmosphere. I was in their old building on Long wharf years ago, and seeing how they've grown and progressed into what I consider a university now, is life changing for the people attending this college. For a community college, they offer so much for the students with assistance as well as their educational endeavors. Their cafe offers delicious varieties which includes a wide range of healthy choices. Very inviting environment for the students to learn in. I went here for my first two years of college. Here's what I've noticed. – The people here are great, for the most part. – UNH emphasizes on a welcoming environment – There's always new development like the Bergami center which is a very nice looking building. – I lived in Westside and Winchester halls. Both are good! – I was in Engineering which I struggled in, but when I changed my major to accounting I had no struggle. – I just really wish UNH was more helpful with finance and mental health. – They were WAY too strict with Covid. Yes, I understand the dangers, but we're adults you have to remember. They threatened to suspend if you violate rules, even accidentally. They also quarantined my entire hall in 2020 just because one student got covid. I really didn't believe they had to be that harsh. – They were also TERRIBLE with communication when moving in for my 2nd year (because of covid), and I had to spend a month trying to figure out when to move in. – The Accessibility resources center is a good place, but once they forbid me from using a calculator on a chemistry exam in March of 2020. Everybody but the ARC staff thought that was terrible. – Their math department was terrible. The professors meant well, but it was not taught in an interesting way. – On a positive note, they are fantastic at safety. In January of 2021 I got cyberbullied by someone in the school who made threats including a death threat. The ResLife dept. handled it very well and the police took it very seriously and found the guy doing it, someone who I thought was a friend. He was suspended. Overall, UNH is not perfect, but their heart is in the right place. I didn't leave for any of these reasons listed, that's another story entirely. I attended UNH between spring 2019 and January 2021 (two years) as a transfer, and earned a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice (Investigative Services Concentration). I am giving this school 3 stars because excluding a very good academic experience, there were too many low moments I experienced at UNH for me to give this review more stars. These low moments range from lack of opportunities for commuter students (which is what I was for 3/4 semesters), existing social circles that prevent prospective students from feeling any sense of belonging, the school's fostering and promotion of the word "LatinX", and other things. (Mainly because I am a Latino/Hispanic male originally from South America, and don't see how the word is applicable to the Central/South American community). The pandemic did affect the college experience in spring 2020, but my experience was already going downhill well before this. For these reasons, I feel as though this was an era of my life that never happened. Above all, I find it difficult to talk about this era and school in more positive (than negative) ways. I do recommend this school for my degree. My professors did an excellent job of teaching me. But it all does come at a cost because setbacks or letdowns (described above) can quickly affect a student's experience. Likewise, I am considering graduate school here because my professional job search opened my eyes to how graduate degrees are becoming the new standard for the U.S workforce. Everyone is friendly from the students to the academic staffers, non-academic staffers, to the school security operatives. When I visited this school I observed wheelchair accessibility is greatly adhered to in this institution. I also noticed there’s a 24/7 Wells Fargo Bank ATM point on this campus. Consequently, you will always have access to cash. When you school here you also get to enjoy the magnificence of New Haven, West Haven and most of all New York City, since it’s just less than an hour ride with your car or via the Metro-North Train. You would think that this school being a “community college” they are more understanding of financial situations and are more efficient with financial aid an other “programs” they offer. Not this school! Not only does every single person in the financial aid office treat you just like another person asking for handouts but depending on what staff you run into behind the desk you might not even get the correct information! I went to the financial aid office yesterday due to the fact that I found out when trying to register for classes for spring 2018 that I was on a financial “probation” these people gave me NO NOTICE NO CALL NO NOTHING but that’s the least of my worry at this point. I go to their office the girl behind the desk had told me due to me getting a D in my math class last semester of 2017 financial aid was skeptical about covering classes for this upcoming semester so I would have to appeal( good thing I came a week before registRtion was over ) I appeal the form then I get a notice in the mail saying I’ve been only approved for 1 class this semester up to 6 credits. I was a little bothered, but I took it, I go down to finally register once again! Then I was told I didn’t have enough for books an technically they were only covering up to 3 credits an my class is 4 so I owe the school clerk a balance of $23.00 and now I’m also expected to pay for my text book. 6 days before class starts … what happened to the notice they sent me that said they cover up to six credits???? literally because I struggled in my math class last semester an got a D I’m going through all this torture as someone who is barely able to pay my own freaking bills at 20 an living by myself just trying to get my own education, every Semester it’s something else with this school the office people SUCK they are there for a job an that’s it. Then When you ask to speak to someone in charge of financial aide they torture you with hold for atleast a good 20 minutes on the phone ( probably praying for you to hang up) unless your willing to take 2 and three trips down to the office which is no problem probably for someone who doesn’t works full time.so now that the semester is getting ready to start an they feel like they did their part by covering the “majority” of my class (3 out of 4 credits, which my paper says they should cover up to 6 credits at least but whatever) I’m now expected to fend for myself an purchase a $200 text book within the next six days. Boy I can’t wait to be successful in my near future an to look back on the mistreatment an lack of support from this school an tell it to others as a learning experience an as a recommendation to never attend here just because of the thought of it being “cheaper” or “local” because u get what u paid for an these people’s attitude is just as cheap as the tuition they offer for a class an they lack what REAL schools have an that’s staff that cares about their students and the well being of others. Professors and fellow students are great but the administration and admissions process is a night mare. Little to no help to navigate threw the process. No one is willing to answer question. They always refer you to another person. Example: Me: Can you please tell me how I can access the wifi here? Advisor: You will have to contact a student advisor for that. Me: :/ Avoid online courses here. Professor did not make access easy. Not clear as to what material is needed. If professor isn't able to help you navigate course or they themselves aren't sure of what to do you will still be responsible for payment. Only time in my life I hired a professional service and they were unable to preform paid for task and I was still responsible for payment. And of course there is no one available to talk to about this and if there is no one knows who it is to refer you. If you do decide to take courses here try to make friends with other students that have already been threw the admissions/ administration nightmare. Don't take online. 1: I registered for a class and dropped it a before week prior to it starting, boy was I in for a surprise bill. $120 for a class I didn’t even step foot in, let alone it didn’t even start when I dropped it. What a SCAM. Of course I had no choice but to pay it. So just be cautious when you’re registering for a class, because you cannot change you’re mind and not expect to pay a fee even if the class hasn’t begun. 2: If you’re “graduating” be sure to wait months for your actual diploma to be delivered. Very unorganized system they have going there. I graduated in may and have yet to receive any proof of it. My transcript is still not updated with my current degree and my diploma is who knows where. Sucks. 3. If you’re receiving financial aid and you’re registered for a class and the school decides they want to cancel it, be prepared to repay financial aid back.S G

Although my professors have been awesome, the university as a whole is horribly disorganized and mismanaged. The various staff of different departments are uniformly rude and uninformed. I've gotten wrong and/or misleading information on basic protocol literally EVERY SINGLE TIME I've spoken with someone (where do I submit work study requests? Can I still carry student insurance if I'm part-time?) Regarding the insurance, I was told "yes" by 2 different pople. HOWEVER, the answer to that is it's automatically cancelled when you register online for classes and it is received as part-time, so then you have to re-enroll as a new client at a higher rate. I found this out when I was trying to fill a prescription and after much investigation found out that my insurance had been cancelled. This is one of the MANY problems I've experienced with Southern administration. Equally as faulty, is the technology "services" that Southern uses. Windows 7 computers in the computer labs that take (no joke) 5-20 mins to log you on if there are more than 3 people in the room and remote printing that requires an installation on your laptop every time you want to use it. This is recommend since you'll otherwise sit for 20 mins for the lab computer to log on and then progress to opening and printing a file at the speed of dial-up. If you need to reach anyone (computing services, the bookstore) for questions, you'll be strained to find contact info outside of the (203)392-SCSU main office number. A detailed Google search rarely finds the phone numbers associated with specific offices. Most recently, for the past month as Southern has started the fall semester, their network has become so overloaded that the mail server periodically un-syncs all of my devices from their email (iPhone, Mac) so I don't get mail or know that an email I sent never actually sent, since it doesn't appear in ANY outbox or draft folder from any device. But since it happens off-and-on, as the SCSU network comes and goes as it pleases, I've not known about the missed emails until someone tells about a group email I missed. Lastly, and kinda most importantly, Southern's crap internet system occasionally doesn't recognize my password for Bannerweb, email, and Blackboard. Confoundingly, this doesn't occur on these applications all in one sitting. MANY TIMES I've sat and typed my password into Blackboard 5+ times and magically after repeated entries it suddenly works!!! Always had the same problem logging into "myscsu" and trying to get my email back online to the Southern server. Recommendation: If you're enrolling as a full-time undergraduate, I would HIGHLY recommend looking for a school elsewhere because you're DEFINITELY not getting your money's worth at this institution. Note: they also have no funding for student work study anymore, so don't count on that for extra money/tuition expenses. If you're taking classes part-time, for a job or continuing education, it will be a frustrating experience, but not a total waste of money. Botton line, I rated 2 stars because the professors and experiences with classmates have been awesome this past year, but the university as a whole is beyond frustrating.Jennifer Vollmer

im usually not the type of person to be negative and leave lengthy reviews but this is so necessary being that im so extremely disappointed with this school! I went for a tour in November of 2017 fell in love with the campus so I decided to apply as a transfer student in April of 2018! I sent in my fee waiver form April 20th I was told it takes 2-3weeks to hear back from the school, ok cool! here it is a MONTH later still no response, nor any communication to even let me know they've received my fee waiver form and that id be hearing from them soon or whatever the case may be just complete silence!!! not to mention the students that answer the phone are very rude and snappy! I withdrew my application and applied to Iona college! I applied with them got an acceptance letter, got my financial situation settled, paid my deposit all within a week, easy as 1,2,3 as it SHOULD be. Its an excellent school with a countless number of awards, i feel as though the process of applying to schools should be as easy and stress free as possible! Im extremely dissatisfied with my experience with this school it literally had everything I was looking for campus wise, but everything happens for a reason and being that Im going into the education field I've been told from numerous amounts of educators that im better off getting a job, with a degree from Iona under my belt. If I could give Southern zero stars I absolutely would. They are extremely unorganized, they don't care about you as a student AT ALL.. They cancelled a BIO class that I really needed a week before classes start. I emailed the head of the department asking for a solution and all I got was a too bad.. Now because of this I have to attend an extra semester and will not be graduating in time.. They offer classes at odd times which makes it hard for you to sign up for classes back to back, so far the professors I had don't care about you and are not understanding.. I graduated from Western Connecticut and I never had a problem with them and now because of Southern I have to spend more of my time and money that I don't have…Barbara Monteiro

The college will do anything to get your money and be admitted, and that's where the niceties end. Their website is contradictory, and they are slow to respond to questions and concerns. You can't trust what they say either because half the time they tell you information that is incorrect. They also rip students off by charging a semester fee of $245/semester (do legitimate colleges do that? NO), and they force you to take 2 courses through the college. One being an online "cornerstone" course where you have to spend about $1350 in ADDITION to the 2 English course that are required by the college. It's basically a dumbed down version of the 2 english course requirements (which can be taken elsewhere), so they can make money out of you. I would STRONGLY recommend getting anything that is said or promised in writing (or record it), because they will make mistakes, and then deny it when called out on it. They are not really professional, and the entire experience is amateur at best. That said, I was able to get a degree for less than $5,000 (I tested out of all the requirements except for the two requirements), but if I could do it again, I would have gone with Thomas Edison State College (which is a state school in New Jersey for testing out of a degree like Charter Oak) instead which has no residency requirements, and can be completely tested out of. I also think the name sounds more legit than "Charter Oak."M M

I did have a helpful advisor, however, the financial aid (FA) department was difficult to get in touch with. I had to go down to the New Britain office in person 3 times and then call & email the office several times before getting even one issue resolved. After a year of their callous responses, I sent an email to the FA office to complain. They basically responded to me by calling me a liar and trying to discredit me! It was terribly unprofessional. Charter Oak treated me as just another faceless number. The lack of personalization and unfriendly response from the employees showed me that I did not matter. I felt mistreated on their end. Don’t waste your money on a school that will refuse to hear you out and better their efforts. I wasn’t even looking for anything in return; I just wanted them to know that they needed improvement. There are a lot of areas where I think Charter Oak State College could improve but, the fact of the matter is, I got my BS here and probably spent less than 5,000 dollars. TOTAL! All these people complaining about the cost of higher education need to look at schools like Charter Oak. They have little in the way of credit-residency requirements — I was only required to take eight credits in-house — and they let you test out of as many credits as you like. For a fast, self-directed learner such as myself, it was perfect. My only caution is that I've found it very difficult to get into graduate school with my degree, despite some excellent grades and standardized test scores. Lincoln technical Institute definitely made me realize my dreams were not as far out of reach as I thought. The staff here is so amazing and helpful. I'm very proud to be representing this school as a automotive technology student working on cars is something that has always been a huge dream of mine since I was little I was always in the shop with my papaw and my father. Id honestly be lying if I didnt admit I was nervous being a female wanting to work in a male dominated trade but lincoln tech has shown me I can do whatever I put my mind too and follow any dream I have. I would like to say Lincoln Tech in East Windsor is top tier amongst any school I’ve ever attended. First, my admissions rep, Brittany Allen went above and beyond during my enrollment process and extremely thorough with information. At first I was extremely nervous about enrolling into school. On several occasions my teachers told me that going to school for automotive was pointless and I should have just gone and applied. Thank you NEMI for the great experience! I started the class in late July early August with the online self paced cna program and then went rifht to the lab and labs skills. Right from the get go I was told everything I needed to know even about the clinical waiver which was is process. We were asked to sign a covid form which explained all the requirements that CT DPH set to graduate. The teacher Tymel and owner were great! The responsiveness was unbelievable! Anytime I had a question or wanted to know when the waiver would be approved they told me the most up to date information. I even emailed the DPH to see what was taking so long and they explained it is a process and NEMI had no authority, like mentioned, to process our certificates until they received the clinical waiver. Northeast Medical helped me attain my Temp NA to use for the mean time. The hands on skill training and the online were excellent! They go very much in depth about what happens in nursing homes and brings it to life by representing the nursing home with short video clips. WELL TODAY IS THE DAY! I RECEIVED AN EMAIL THAT THE WAIVER WAS APPROVED! Now I can go and get tested at a prometric testing facility! I would highly recommend this school, they kept us safe during covid with their mandatory protocols and allowed me to attain my cna certificate of completion online!Matt D

I am currently taking the CNA course and have already learned so much in my first three days. My instructors, Nitra and Najera, are incredibly informative and make the class fun. I also had the pleasure of taking Sean’s BLS class, and am pleased to say he made 3 hours feel like 30 minutes…which is a good thing. He was easy to follow, helpful, and kept the class engaged. I had to take my CPR class here for work. My instructor was Sean and he was wonderful! I was the only student in the class so I was able to ask as many questions as I wanted. Sean was intricate in his answers and went through the entire class without missing a single important detail. I scored a 92% on my test and my errors on the last 2 questions were due to my lack of attention to detail. Thank you so much!s a

I started the electrical program in June of 2021 and had a pleasant experience to start. I was in a class with about twelve other students and felt that I was learning and retaining information adequately partly due to the class size. Fast forward a few months and our class has almost quadrupled in size. Half of the class is required to sit in one room and watch the instructor on a projector while he is in another room with the other half of the class. It is now to the point where students have to rely on other students to teach them certain things because of how thin the instructors have been stretched. I, as well as numerous other students, have voiced their displeasure with administration multiple times but we've essentially been told that it's something were gonna have to deal with. I can't speak highly enough on behalf of the instructors Mr. Sterling and Mr. DeFelice who clearly care about their student's education, but it is evident that Lincoln Tech (New Britain) as a whole does not. I can't speak on behalf of the other Lincoln Tech campuses but I imagine they are run similar. If you are someone looking at tech schools I implore you to look at all your options.Tyler Mattioda

When I first applied it was to go into the nursing program but I was discouraged by the person I met with. She said since I was a single parent it would be hard for me to take and keep up with classes and referred me to apply to the medical assistant program instead which I reluctantly did. (Big mistake) even though I had made deans list, was one of the top in the class grades wise and had a 3.76 gpa I was placed last for an "externship" and then when placed I was placed in a small office that didn't need an extra medical assistant. I didn't get a job and wasn't helped securing one either. I was so pissed I didn't even show to graduation! I also aced my Registration exam the first time and was THE only person in my class to get registered or certified. I wasted time away from my child and had to take out two loans I'm STILL paying for with nothing to show. I always discourage people from going here because it's not worth it. And the kicker!!! Placed want at least a year or 2 experience before they hire you so it's extremely hard to find work when you only get less than a months training in your field! Would've been better off at a community college or 4 year school.kanosha norman

I looked into this school a few years ago, and when i showed up to take the tour they said i first had to sign in by writing my name and phone number down on the sign-in sheet. I felt uncomfortable doing this, but they wouldn't give me the tour unless I provided them with my phone number for some reason. Well, it turns out that the reason is so that they can continue to sent you text messages begging you to attend their school, even several years after you already decided not to. Blocking the number doesn't work either as they use a different number each time. If you decide to look into this school, i *highly* recommend providing them with a fake phone number when you sign in.Andrew Preston

I’ve debated on weather or not to post but everyone asks me if I would recommend this school. The teachers there are amazing, they want to make sure you learn and know what you are doing. To be honest once you get to clinical they forget about you. I asked for help on multiple occasions because I was struggling with a protocol, I was told “we will put a schedule for you to come to the school with a teacher to learn more and you will go to the hospital one day a week” this was in addition to be already being at a clinic site 5 days a week. That never happened, I was told during one meeting when I asked to switch to vascular so I can have that experience on my resume that if the general site I was at now liked me I should stay because if I make a good impression they will let other students go to that site. I give credit to my teachers but that’s about the only good thing I can say about this school. I’ve had employers say they won’t hire if you go to this school because of the reputation. I know they’ve made changed and added staff since I graduated last summer but I would suggest making sure you do all your research on what accreditation’s the school actually has before making your choice on where to get your education. I thankfully was able to find a job on my own many months afterwards. Do your research and look up their accreditation’s before signing any contract with them.Lindsey Genovese

I recently graduated from AIHT, Cardiovascular Technology program. I did my clinical hours at Windham Hospital in Willimantic where I got hired right after. During covid, I realized how important the healthcare field was so I decided that I wanted to pursue my career in the medical field. After searching for and touring a few schools in my area I chose the AIHT ultrasound program. Lauren and Ravish were very helpful explaining all the steps and processes. As a single mother, AIHT’s flexible hybrid program enabled me to balance my personal life and school schedule really well. Upon completion of my clinical hours I felt really confident about my knowledge and felt comfortable taking the CCI board exam. I scored a 845 and officially became Registered Cardiac Sonographer. I had a great experience at Retreat Behavioral Health. The staff was very helpful and understanding throughout my time there. I had a caring therapist, and loved going to groups with all of the other therapists on the team as well. The facility was clean and the food was good for the most part and if I didn't like what was on the menu the salad bar was always a good option. The most important thing I learned was how to live a happy, healthy, and sober life! I would be remiss not to mention one special person on the staff, Gordy, the "Alumni Guy"! Gordy facilitates groups, brings in Retreat alumni to speak at the Saturday night AA meeting and he hosts two alumni meetings during the week. Additionally, he organizes alumni events all around the state for anyone to join in and have fun! It is so important to remember as we travel on this journey and make so many changes in the way we used to live, that we now have the opportunity to be free and enjoy life!! I've been to quite a few facilities, and Retreat surpasses them all. Aside from the facility in of itself being clean and cozy (LOVE the meditation room), all of the staff were very supportive and accommodating. Continuum has some of the most dedicated, compassionate, and skilled staff I've ever seen. They care so much about the people they serve. I've seen employees spend their own money to buy clients some basic things. I've seen them work on their own time to help out someone in need. The compassion and love permeates the programs, but so does the skill. I've heard so many success stories from clients about the the staff and the programs and the successes they've achieved, even after years of failed attempts by other programs. I've emailed them two weeks ago about one of their staff stalking my social media. The staff is also drinking and exchanging money with one of her clients even though she's supposedly his councilor. No one at the site is getting back to me to confirm she works there (she reports in her linked in profile that she does) and if she does, then I don't recommend this company. The 3 people we spoke to were nice but after getting up extra early, catching s bus across town in the freezing cold the person didn't even show up for the program! They called him 3x he didn't answer or call back! The word "crisis" is in the name and the guy didn't show up and couldn't even call and its the last program of the month! Just like everyone else if its not THEIR crisis they don't care and have no consideration for anyone else! Update: approximately one week after this review and a phone voicemail message i was contacted with an explanation for why no one showed up to the scheduled session. According to the person i spoke to the MCJT program shouldn't be on the regular job center schedule for 2x a month. One person was sick and the other was on leave and the program only goes to the BLVD office on an as needed basis in conjunction with other pertinent programs. I look forward to meeting with someone at the BLVD office next week (if my post surgical restrictions are cleared) and being able to participate asap afterwards. Update: I met members of the team and with their help I've begun Microsoft certification online.Blue

Always a helpful environment, but like anything in life the only get out of it the amount you honestly put into it. This place is also helpful for if you gotta send a fax out for a job or something like that. You can come here and use the fax machine or go online and our an put in applications as much as you want. Nope. Never again. Unpleasant staff. Very demeaning social worker, and the supervisors….forget it. The day my mom was admitted, they had no paperwork for her to sign about her items she brought with her or anything, and arrived by 4pm. The hospital referred them for their respiratory program of which my mom NEEDED and NEVER received. They gave her a lousy week of therapy and then made her do everything on her own. Finally, they lost a few of my moms clothing and refused to try to find them…..after 3 damn weeks. Then when I requested reimbursement, they said to talk to administration. This place suck the patients or elderly who stay there are treated terrible. I have witnessed people begging and pleading for help and the lazy workers sat there and ignored their cries for help. The workers are more interested in watching television and being lazy. The elderly should be taken care of better than what I have witnessed. As a care manager, I had a client living in Mary Wade for memory care for 6 months before she passed. I visited frequently during that time and witnessed how attentive, compassionate and playful the staff were to the patients. She was kept clean, comfortable, and dignified all while receiving every level of necessary care including hospice services. The staff at Mary Wade were wonderful! I took a phlebotomy course here this past month and I am beyond happy that I attended here. Dr. Chavarry was an absolute amazing teacher and super knowledgeable. Rude. We showed up seeking urgent care only to be turned away because they were technically closed. We arrived at 3:30 and immediately received an attitude from the nurse at the front desk for arriving late. When my friend called the nurse said they closed at 4pm and as long as we arrived before then we would be seen. A doctor came out from the back with another nurse and talked to us in the waiting room amongst many people to hear our conversation. The doctor commented on her inability to breathe and finish her sentences due to the fact, but said we could not be seen because they were closed. If someone is in need of care and fears it may be serious. Or wants some kind of diagnosis just to make sure they'll make it home tonight, please show up BEFORE 3:30 despite what the receptionist says about the 4pm closing time. The security guards were exceptionally kind unlike the medical staff. I thank them for their humanity and understanding that my friend was having trouble breathing at the time. I don’t even know where to start in regards to how poorly they conduct business. It’s really sad especially because this is people's health we’re talking about. I’ve been calling for over a week in effort to get an issue resolved regarding a prescription. For days I’ve been getting the run around and told that someone will get back to me by end of day. I’ve spoken to reps and managers (including a manager named Lindsey today) who’ve all made empty guarantees of someone following up with me and nothing. I called again this afternoon a little before their close of day and got a rep who “verified” my info and then transferred me to a dead end. I’ve called other times and heard reps swearing in the background..extremely unprofessional. Though I haven’t received a call regarding my prescription that I’ve been calling about, I have received a call to reschedule my scheduled pre-op appointment. The kicker is I’m not having any operations so what’s the pre-op appointment for?! For that situation I simply got an ‘oops.’ from the rep. Huge red flag!Starr D

Worst doctors office. I do not recommend this practice or location to anyone Starting from the receptionist ,to the Gynecologist , and billing is a nightmare. I tried to give this place a few chances but everytime I came back was worse. Receptionist put you on hold forever , and when they pick up they’re rude. I ended up in the er because the Gyno wasn’t listening to a single word I was saying and kept throwing me on birthcontroll during all the Telehealth visits. After me telling the gyno so many times I need to be looked at in person and need some kind of tests and possible scans or ultrasounds done. she kept making it seem like I was completely fine . Billing was so rude and couldn’t explain not a single thing to me or help me. Fast forward a few months later and I’m very satisfied with my new gyno. The way that I would like to start this off is by saying this is the best school I’ve ever attended. Kathy from administration helped me by making sure I understood everything that I needed to. Then Whitley and Jenna from financial aid helped me by making everything in that area easy as pie. After that came one of the best teachers I’ve ever had Beth. She made sure that we understood that the Medical Coding and Billing program was not going to be easy and to be ready to not have a social life outside of school which was not a joke at all. My program was supposed to be 40 weeks (10 months) and with the pandemic it got extended to 15 months. After everything the school was very helpful and also made sure we were safe when the school opened up after being closed due to the pandemic. Emilie and Beth are always there to help out and even do one on ones if needed. The biggest shout out is to the owner of the school Chris Coutts. This is because after I completed my program I was offered to take 3 practice CPC exams and if I passed the owner would pay to take the actual CPC exam. This was completely out side out our program cost. Thanks to Chris Coutts I took my CPC exam on 12/4/2021 and got my results on 12/10/2021 that said I passed. I absolutely love The American Institute. The West Hartford Campus is absolutely amazing. Ever since enrolling with Jason my life has been positively progressing. Jason signed me up back in august. She makes herself available for help at any hour of the day. She always has an open door, and can always assure you that you are capable of this program. I started at American Institute in September 21' for medical assisting on an impulse decision & it's been one of the best choices I've ever made. My father is at the Grimes Center. Everyone at the center has been responsive to questions, supportive and caring. Everyone is from the janitorial services to Directors. Cleaning of the rooms was coordinated while patients were in PT / OT as to not disturb the patient and visitors. Directors made themselves available to listen. Nurses helped with anything we requested. The PT and OT are tough and focused in order for the patient to have a quality rehab or end of life. They don't let one excuse slow the patient down, yet if the patient is having a really bad day they understand and ease up. Everyone smiled and seemed happy to be working @Grimes. I'm thankful my father went to Grimes as we begin the journey to home hospice.Stacy Owen

I don’t know what these bad reviews are all about, but I got my LPN license a few years ago and I am now working in the field earning a comfortable wage. I felt supported and had all of my questions answered here. My favorite clinical teacher was Mrs. Lisi, she really showed me the ropes. Also, It was accredited as I am now in the process of obtaining my RN. schools can’t be perfect all of the time. There’s always going to be minor annoyances, that doesn’t warrant a negative review.
