13 Best Msw Programs In Toledo, OH (2022 Updated)

I pay thousands for my child to live in a glorified closet with a bunch of strangers (living in the dorms is required of course) and then I find out that there is basically no laundry here. The dryers don’t work. We’ve made complaints, my daughter has submitted maintenance requests, and still nothing. The best they can do is put an out of order sign on the machines and call the problem fixed. Apparently they occasionally remove the signs despite nothing being fixed. I can’t imagine how frustrating it is to leave your clothes in the dryer for an hour only to come back to a soggy pile of clothes. If it’s the dryer company to blame, then get a new company, but until then I would consider finding a loophole to live off campus or go somewhere else.Regina Pycroft

Great campus with many great programs! I have multiple friends who go here and they all seem like they are excelling compared to myself! Their aviation program seems like it is one of the best around and have multiple friends going here for that reason! I have also heard very good things about the education majors. The campus is very safe and really well laid out. The buildings look very modern! Downtown has very nice places to eat, hang out, shop, and party! The wifi is a tad slow and I'm not sure why, but it is livable. The weather is very cold in the winter because of wind and the landscape being so flat, but they do have public transportation to get to classes and other buildings/ places.Collin “A1C Sherwood” Sherwood

Sunday after Christmas took a nostalgic campus tour. It was great, no one was around and I could just stroll about. Started counting new buildings, that have appeared since my days on campus and decided it was easier to count the one that I knew, that were still there. Even my old dorm was gone! South Hall, my speech and theatre homebase was renamed. But get this, the Bursar's building was gone too, if they would have asked I would have helped tear that one down. The advancements in technology and convenience that have amassed since I graduate in 1985 really changed the place. Proud to be a Falcon!!!!!!!!Ed McMasters

Honestly, should have listened to everyone discrediting this school. Cheaper ain't better. This school has stressed me out and I've only been attending for one semester. They keep changing my aid amount, will not reimburse my refund and all together have made my college experience a nightmare in hell especially with me working full-time. It always something new going on with my financial information for the following semester and new requirements that were completed prior to me attending resurfacing. Who has the time to keep re-ensuring that they're getting the money they already previously accepted? It doesn't matter how early you send your FAFSA in, they will find a way to have it reprocessed so late that you won't recieve the amount you already accepted. Very poor experience, people don't care about the disabled students, they had charged me over $1k for not helping me get into my classes and they've abandoned me in 2010. One star for absolute failure. Edit: 9/14/2022 this so-called trio program from Owens community college isn't helpful not resourceful of how am I supposed to go to college, they sign me up late not knowing I'm missing out on my assignments and these advisors in the school are lazy and rude like they don't care for the disabled students such as myself. Attended Owens and completed an Associates degree in 2001. Returned to a local area 4 year college to complete a Bachelor of Science. Due to the high cost and mediocre experience. I chose to take as many transfer classes as possible at Owens. A full time semester was a fraction of a 4 year college semester. Pretty rigorous course material and most importantly, courses are well structured, you could actually work ahead following the syllabus. Students and staff are pleasant. Have my 4 year degree, and returning to Owens for certificate programs to fill in the gaps from said 4 year college curriculum.Brent A.

This is one of the worst colleges out there. They require internship to graduate, but they don't try to help you find one. So after struggling to find one, they come after you and say it is a class and you have to pay THEM for it. This school doesn't help students with planning or teaching them how the system works so students fail or have to stay an extra year. I strongly recommend to everyone not to attend this college. Nothing special. Low caliber students and loose admission requirements. Bad water in the town. More affordable higher quality education can be found elsewhere. Some upsides like travel but for the price you are paying not worth it. There is a reason the retention rate is low, not much else to say.David V

There are sooooooo many colleges and universities in Northwest Ohio that would be a better choice than Lourdes. I got duped into coming here on the false pretense of discounted tuition and quick graduation. Nearly 3 years later, I'm still more than a year from graduation, I have not gotten one single penny off my tuition, as was previously promised, and the tuition has climbed by 150%… Transferring out to UT, something I should have done a long time ago.Patrick G.

If I could leave a zero star that’d be cool. I called to get basic information. Wanted to know transferable credits of and ADN degree to BSN degree. Was told o needed to “Speak English” (mind you I’m as English and American as it gets) I asked what he meant by to speak English and he said he didn’t understand was an ADN or BSN is. There’s more polite ways to ask about something you don’t understand than to straight up tell someone “I need you to speak English for me” like sir! I need you to speak more professionally for me. I’m currently an attending undergrad since 2019. I’ve only had one major issue and that was my academic advisor originally slotting 18 credit hours my first semester. But I got a new academic advisor and I’ve had no other issues. All of my professors have been nice even if they were strict with teaching methods. I could even say I’d miss a few of them cause they made classes with them super fun. Their Covid-19 response was also great and their testing centers were quick and easy to attend. The campus is also really nice in the spring/summer when it’s not too hot.C. H.

Very disappointed this year, it is the first year I didn't get the senior farmers market coupons. I got a delivery of fruit and vegetables three times only. I know others who got their coupons . I filled out the application the same day I received it and sent it back the next day. I know that they got it, because someone called me about help with my meds, which was sent back at the same time as the application for the farmers market coupons. Very disappointed at the fiasco for the Omicron vaccine booster on September 8th. It was supposed to start at 2pm and we arrived at 1:30 and it was in full swing with limited parking left and long lines on Detroit Ave. What was the point of making reservations online? If they were only giving gift cards to the first 200 to be vaccinated, why weren’t the first 200 to reserve spots given a specific time and be designated one of the 200. I worked here for almost a year and was fired a day before my year. The reason I was given was because of work place violence, when they didnt find anything of that nature, they decided to fire me on accounts of not keeping up on my work, when that was not the case and I was doing mine and Brintty's work.Karly Fulton

Warning, face diapers required! They follow no other safety protocols. Patients use the same pens and clipboards, lean and touch the counter tops and their is no wiping/ cleaning or any type of sanitizing in between patients. Patients are asked personal information aloud on the first floor with no privacy. Toledo Clinic is only 10% in on the charades but I guess won’t or don’t believe they should follow other protective measures. These places of business forget who the customers are. I have been using The Toledo Clinic for years. It’s kind of like one stop shopping for many medical services and specialists. It’s easy to find and access. Parking is adequate. Easy check-in from your car. All of the staff I have dealt with are kind and courteous. The doctors are professional and I would recommend those that I have seen. I have been seeing various doctors for the past five years at The Toledo Clinic on Secor Road in Toledo and I have to give all of them an excellent rating. The facility is easy to get to and has ample parking. The staff is courteous and caring and the facility is very clean.Elaine Hinz

Very disappointed with the staff at this college. While many professors were nice at this college, the higher up personnel are the most disrespectful and rude employees I've ever met. The one star is for my professors. I'd choose zero stars (if that was even an option) for the higher up personnel. As a college focusing on Social Work, these behaviors should not be tolerated. In the NASW Code of Ethics for social workers, one of the codes is: Dignity and Worth of the Person. The first sentence in the description is, "Social workers treat each person in a caring and respectful fashion, mindful of individual differences and cultural and ethnic diversity." I can honestly say two of the higher up personnel at this college have treated me with more disrespect than I have ever received in my life. They made it impossible for me to finish my degree when I was in my last semester. I learned a lot at this school in my classes, but these two people ruined my college experience. I will never recommend this college to anyone. While Ohio State may be a good college as a whole, the college of Social Work needs some revamping. They need to be more caring and considerate. I, by no means did anything to deserve what they did to me. I truly believe it's very unfair. I'll state again, My LAST semester and they made it impossible for me to graduate from the social work college. It has hurt me so badly. I worked so hard to graduate and then poof, it's gone.
