My son recently graduated from this college. He transferred in from a 2 year college so he was only there for 5 semesters. Things started okay but went downhill. Communication quickly became a problem. We had issues from professors, finance and counseling. It became so bad that to get anything done we had to cc the Dean in any messages that we sent. I also know of someone else who had to do the same thing. The last semester was the worst. He was enrolled as a full time student but when the bill came through it was in correct. We got loans for the first amount but had to get additional loans after the semester ended. No one sent an email we had to check the account because my son never received an email or his diploma. When we were notified by the finance department they told us we had to fix it. Numerous emails were sent to many different people but nothing was ever fixed. We finally resent the emails and cc’d the Dean and it finally got fixed. The college also changed the advisor without notifying us that it had changed. My son had to find his own internship and figure his classes out on his own. My daughter had the same issues with communication. She was signed up to go but never heard back. She then got a call from the advisor asking why she never showed up. The advisor had enrolled her in classes but never told her. She ended up not going. If you choose this college they will take your money but you will have to do a lot of work to make sure they are on top of things.Todd Crossett

I graduated from Roberts last year and I had a great experience. I do agree with some reviews that communication is not always great, but as long as you are proactive and take an active approach to your education here, you'll do wonderfully. The staff and students are very respectful and the professors seem to really care about you and your overall success. It is a nice size campus, not too busy and not too small. I went to Nyack College in the city for one year and switched to a CUNY school after as I felt the quality of education did not match the HIGH costs. I remember when I was first applying to the school, I was so nervous about taking out such high loan amounts to pay for one year. I kept communicating this to the admissions person, but he kept telling me that no one could take away my education and convinced me to take the loans. The only reason ppl go here and are willing to grossly pay for an education is the location. I went to school here and will say it is far overpriced for the education you are given. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. Pace is expensive, doesn't help the students getting internships and when the students get one on their own, Pace takes the credit. After graduating, the students don't get a job. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? Additionally, the lack of diversity (granted, because of how this is a private school) is also lacking. I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. One of its kinda school Historic place as it is more than 100 year old school CUNY’S most iconic campus so far As building is quite old, construction is going on still it’s worth taking a walk here Lush green gardens and beautiful library plus awesome walkways and old concert hall and other buildings. If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. I am a sophomore at Seton Hall studying psychology. From the moment I came to campus for my tour senior year of high school, the Seton Hall community has been nothing but welcoming. The sense of community I felt from the students and faculty, and the academic support they promised to give is what ultimately led me to commit to Seton Hall. Now that I'm a sophomore, I can say that sense of community and academic support is still so prevalent. As a freshman, SHU sets up each student with an academic advisor and a peer advisor, both of which were extremely supportive in my decision to switch my major. They outlined my new requirements and talked about each of my options, reminding me just how supported every single student is. I love this university. I had time to study ESL program here and I would be attractable their plan. It was not only good professors, friendly and humorously friends, but also they (I mean the leaders of that university) have extremely detail their program for each of their students. Although my professors have been awesome, the university as a whole is horribly disorganized and mismanaged. The various staff of different departments are uniformly rude and uninformed. I've gotten wrong and/or misleading information on basic protocol literally EVERY SINGLE TIME I've spoken with someone (where do I submit work study requests? Can I still carry student insurance if I'm part-time?) Regarding the insurance, I was told "yes" by 2 different pople. HOWEVER, the answer to that is it's automatically cancelled when you register online for classes and it is received as part-time, so then you have to re-enroll as a new client at a higher rate. I found this out when I was trying to fill a prescription and after much investigation found out that my insurance had been cancelled. This is one of the MANY problems I've experienced with Southern administration. Equally as faulty, is the technology "services" that Southern uses. Windows 7 computers in the computer labs that take (no joke) 5-20 mins to log you on if there are more than 3 people in the room and remote printing that requires an installation on your laptop every time you want to use it. This is recommend since you'll otherwise sit for 20 mins for the lab computer to log on and then progress to opening and printing a file at the speed of dial-up. If you need to reach anyone (computing services, the bookstore) for questions, you'll be strained to find contact info outside of the (203)392-SCSU main office number. A detailed Google search rarely finds the phone numbers associated with specific offices. Most recently, for the past month as Southern has started the fall semester, their network has become so overloaded that the mail server periodically un-syncs all of my devices from their email (iPhone, Mac) so I don't get mail or know that an email I sent never actually sent, since it doesn't appear in ANY outbox or draft folder from any device. But since it happens off-and-on, as the SCSU network comes and goes as it pleases, I've not known about the missed emails until someone tells about a group email I missed. Lastly, and kinda most importantly, Southern's crap internet system occasionally doesn't recognize my password for Bannerweb, email, and Blackboard. Confoundingly, this doesn't occur on these applications all in one sitting. MANY TIMES I've sat and typed my password into Blackboard 5+ times and magically after repeated entries it suddenly works!!! Always had the same problem logging into "myscsu" and trying to get my email back online to the Southern server. Recommendation: If you're enrolling as a full-time undergraduate, I would HIGHLY recommend looking for a school elsewhere because you're DEFINITELY not getting your money's worth at this institution. Note: they also have no funding for student work study anymore, so don't count on that for extra money/tuition expenses. If you're taking classes part-time, for a job or continuing education, it will be a frustrating experience, but not a total waste of money. Botton line, I rated 2 stars because the professors and experiences with classmates have been awesome this past year, but the university as a whole is beyond frustrating.Jennifer Vollmer

im usually not the type of person to be negative and leave lengthy reviews but this is so necessary being that im so extremely disappointed with this school! I went for a tour in November of 2017 fell in love with the campus so I decided to apply as a transfer student in April of 2018! I sent in my fee waiver form April 20th I was told it takes 2-3weeks to hear back from the school, ok cool! here it is a MONTH later still no response, nor any communication to even let me know they've received my fee waiver form and that id be hearing from them soon or whatever the case may be just complete silence!!! not to mention the students that answer the phone are very rude and snappy! I withdrew my application and applied to Iona college! I applied with them got an acceptance letter, got my financial situation settled, paid my deposit all within a week, easy as 1,2,3 as it SHOULD be. Its an excellent school with a countless number of awards, i feel as though the process of applying to schools should be as easy and stress free as possible! Im extremely dissatisfied with my experience with this school it literally had everything I was looking for campus wise, but everything happens for a reason and being that Im going into the education field I've been told from numerous amounts of educators that im better off getting a job, with a degree from Iona under my belt. If I could give Southern zero stars I absolutely would. They are extremely unorganized, they don't care about you as a student AT ALL.. They cancelled a BIO class that I really needed a week before classes start. I emailed the head of the department asking for a solution and all I got was a too bad.. Now because of this I have to attend an extra semester and will not be graduating in time.. They offer classes at odd times which makes it hard for you to sign up for classes back to back, so far the professors I had don't care about you and are not understanding.. For 4 years Rutgers was our home, and the center of our family life. Our eldest children grew up here and the youngest was born. It was a wonderful life experience as a family, as people and students. Life at Johnson apartments was happy, with difficult moments of adaptation but definitely a great challenge. Love this place! I was in such pain and my body was so screwed up that I couldn’t stand more than 10 minutes. I had a disk extrusion and nerve displacements. A few times I thought I had to call 911 because of the amount of pain. I’ve been going here only 1 month, and the amount of progress is incredible. Not only am I not in pain anymore, but because they offer so many different services, my mental health, muscles, and alignment have improved significantly. Every staff member is great to get along with, they are professional, and really are focused on getting you better versus some other places that solely exist as a money grab. Harold Koplewicz is a poor choice for you to take your child to at the Child Mind Institute. Very unfortunate considering how hopeful I was that he was legit given his background. I saw him regarding my 13 year old son, and Koplewicz was determined to find anxiety in my son even where there was none. His determination to find problems in a child that may exist, I can see no other reason, other than to create a need for more sessions is very evident. Koplewicz showed no ability to determine truth from fiction. He is more focused on building rapport and conversation than he is about doing his job which is to empower children. He does seem very motivated by billing fees. He writes lengthy recap letters that go nowhere and then charges $1000 dollars for these recap letters in addition to his hourly fee which is another $1100 His personal corner office on park avenue is the size of four offices combined, so he has a lot of overhead, and covering that seems to be his main priority.Adrian C

I’m not sure how this place has 5 start reviews! Since I’m new to the area I took a look at the reviews and made an appointment. The first time I was seating in a room for over 2 hr. No one came. I called and made a fallow up appointment to get the results of the test they order. As I’m trying to make the appointment the person helping me start to have a personal conversation with someone at the center. I wanted 15 minutes, then finally she told me I have an appointment at 3pm Monday the 30th. I walk in today at 3pm. I approach the front desk and there were 3 ladies gossiping, as if they were in their block! So I told them that I had an appointment. One them tells me that my appointment is at 4pm. So I told them I have an appointment at 3, not 4. Other lady then told me with a nasty attitude “ she’s not telling you we can’t see you, she’s telling you your appointment is at 4”. One of the nurses said there was absolutely nothing wrong with me without even checking my vitals , blood pressure or temperature first , what a JOKE . She had a big attitude , tried to dismiss me like if I was a waste of time without even getting my blood pressure or vitals first , then one of the Board of Directors OR whatever he wanted to call him self also tired to dismiss me I tried my best to be polite about the situation . Took my son out of school to have his dental cleaning seeing that this health center was 1 block away. The receptionist just kept eating and whenever I asked a question as to why we were waiting so long yet we are the only ones here she had so much attitude. I notice however she was nice to the Spanish people that she knows. Very unprofessional and slow!!!!!!!!! She completely ignored us sitting there otherwise and proceeded to argue ith us…… terrible!!!!!!!! Two other co-workers helped to gang up on us when we tried speaking up about our experience!!!! Our deep concern about our child's mental condition led us to many different doctors, hospitals and centers. We are relieved this search brought us to Child Mind, where we found Dr. Jerry Bubrick and his team to be compassionate, thorough and knowledgeable. This is not a place where patients are shuffled through. There is an incredible level of thoughtfulness which I've found lacking in the medical field. Nothing was assumed, information was gathered and other specialists brought in. Dr. Jerry met with us often to discuss, ask questions and share information. We felt confident in his and Alnardo's process, observations and findings. For any parents like us who struggled for months trying to help their child, I would highly recommend Child Mind and their commitment to excellence. They are a wonderful, different kind of place that is not driven by ego but exists to really help make children's lives better. Why are health facilities making twisted logic not to accept insurance. I see child-mind institute claims itself a non-profit but wont serve average working class americans. It is okay to say, hey we only serve the rich…and if you cannot afford us…too bad. And, of course we also do token charity to poor people. We participated in Summer Program of 2022, after struggling for a long time with our child's behavior challenges. CMI has finally shed some light and hope to our path! This 4-week program has definitely made our son's attitude and outlook positive, boosted up his self-image, and gave tools to both sides to communicate more effectively. After years of hogwash standard medical practitioners, I turned to natural. Found a great thyroid medicine but sadly isn't made any longer. I did find compounding pharmaceutical that had recipe for it. Moved to NY after losing husband. Hadn't been at my 100% since, actually not able to walk well, fatigue, and back pain. Ignoring it. Went to fill script and they were closed permanently. Frantically looking on East Coast, found both a new Dr and compounding pharmacy. Dr took thyroid test, coming back normal…which for me is typical, sadly. He prescribed same dose, which made me feel fabulous. Turns out other pharmaceutical closed for a reason. After a month, the party was over and it was way too high a dose. Dr Borenstein brought dose to lowest (not my dose but to get me up to whatever it is slowly). I'm on medicare, Rx plan, etc. Will I utilize it to go to a standard Dr who assumes they know best, Ignoring the patient? No, those quacks almost killed me. Fatigue, pain, a goiter… plus a normal thyroid tests kept them from putting me on thyroid meds or bothering to do a biopsy (uh, cancer). I'm sticking with Dr Borenstein, or he's stuck with me. I came to him on a sharp decline with COVID-19 after being under the care of a different but ineffective (yet respected) physician. Dr. Borenstein was kind and caring and so much more knowledgeable than that other doctor. Dr. B. was clearly up on all the latest research and treatment protocols. He explained exactly why he prescribed everything and why some medical research is better than others. He obviously put my health as his first priority. I can say unequivocally that he saved me from having to go to the hospital. When my friends and colleagues ask me how I got better when it seemed like I was hospital-bound, I tell them about the doctor who doesn’t just read pamphlets from the medical leadership but keeps up with the primary research himself. Not all physicians put in the time to read primary research carefully. Many just read pamphlets and abstracts. Dr. Borenstein puts in the time, keeps up, and formulates his own medical opinions. Dr Borenstein is an amazing doctor. He is smart, caring, attentive and willing to think outside the box. I have done two stem cell treatments with him and these treatments have substantially improved my quality of life. They allow me to have the energy to be able work at a job I love and also have strengthened my immune system substantially. To put it in perspective, prior to starting stem cell therapy, I would miss approximately 40-50 days of work a year because of sickness. Over the last four months, I did not take one sick day! Although all of my symptoms are not resolved yet, things are so much better and I consider the stem cells to be a complete miracle. I know Dr. Borenstein is willing to keep trying with me and I feel less alone knowing someone else is thinking about my case. His kindness and bedside manner make me feel comfortable and cared for.
