My son recently graduated from this college. He transferred in from a 2 year college so he was only there for 5 semesters. Things started okay but went downhill. Communication quickly became a problem. We had issues from professors, finance and counseling. It became so bad that to get anything done we had to cc the Dean in any messages that we sent. I also know of someone else who had to do the same thing. The last semester was the worst. He was enrolled as a full time student but when the bill came through it was in correct. We got loans for the first amount but had to get additional loans after the semester ended. No one sent an email we had to check the account because my son never received an email or his diploma. When we were notified by the finance department they told us we had to fix it. Numerous emails were sent to many different people but nothing was ever fixed. We finally resent the emails and cc’d the Dean and it finally got fixed. The college also changed the advisor without notifying us that it had changed. My son had to find his own internship and figure his classes out on his own. My daughter had the same issues with communication. She was signed up to go but never heard back. She then got a call from the advisor asking why she never showed up. The advisor had enrolled her in classes but never told her. She ended up not going. If you choose this college they will take your money but you will have to do a lot of work to make sure they are on top of things.Todd Crossett

I graduated from Roberts last year and I had a great experience. I do agree with some reviews that communication is not always great, but as long as you are proactive and take an active approach to your education here, you'll do wonderfully. The staff and students are very respectful and the professors seem to really care about you and your overall success. It is a nice size campus, not too busy and not too small. This is not a good college at all. It's a decent sized school but I found many of the students here to be very cold and unfriendly. It's a very political school everyone is either very liberal or very conservative which made me uncomfortable since i'm not a political person. There is a lot of drug activity at this school. I had great professors and excellent guidance. I think. I mean, it WAS the first half of the seventies! Seriously though, I got everything I paid for, and more, from this great institution. I went to Nyack College in the city for one year and switched to a CUNY school after as I felt the quality of education did not match the HIGH costs. I remember when I was first applying to the school, I was so nervous about taking out such high loan amounts to pay for one year. Some staff are great and really care about the education they are providing. Others just read off a powerpoint and have no interest except for a paycheck. One of their alumni just got a good job and due to she owes money, they don't give her transcripts and are retaining her title. Is not possible for Pace to help when the students really need help? Simply put, the 4 years I spent at The College of Saint Rose were the best 4 years of my life. I attended the Accepted Students Day the Spring before I matriculated and fell in love. The campus was beautiful, everyone was friendly and helpful. I left with every question answered and very at ease about where I would be spending the next 4 years. Saint Rose provided me with an opportunity to come out of my shell. I was the typical shy student. I had my group of friends and I stuck to them. I didn't participate in any campus activities, my days consisted of going to class and back to my room. At the beginning of my second year, I knew I wanted to make a change, I wanted to experience all Saint Rose had to offer. I became a mentor, and then a resistant assistant, joined clubs, and volunteered. I did it all. I became a leader on campus all while balancing my school work and employment. The resources are unlimited at Saint Rose, you just have to reach out. Class sizes are small which is perfect for those of us who like to get to know our professors. As a biology major, I found my classes to be challenging but not impossible and learning was fun. When you have professors who are passionate about their field it makes you passionate to learn and that is what you will find when you come to Saint Rose. With the help of one of my professors, I was able to secure a summer research internship at Albany Medical College. My time spent here was very productive. When I transferred to Saint Rose, I knew that this place would become my second home. I can't stress enough how transfer friendly the college is. I had such wonderful help from Transfer Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar and the Communications department throughout the transfer process. They included my mom as well and answered any questions she had. While attending Saint Rose, I had some incredible opportunities that you can only get from Saint Rose. I was elected President for Tau Sigma National Honor Society which allowed me to go to Chicago and San Antonio for their leadership conference. I got to go on several trips including the Hearst Tower in NYC, Yankee Stadium, Bronx Zoo and to local media outlets such as Time Warner Cable News. I also was a staff writer/news editor for The Chronicle, the weekly student newspaper. But most importantly, Saint Rose prepared me for my two internships/part time job during my senior year and current full time job in the news industry. The professors in the Communications department helped me grow not only as a journalist but as a person. They pushed me to think outside the box and ask the tough questions. Without such a wonderful and supportive COMmunity, I wouldn't be where I am today. I feel like one star would be harsh, but three stars would be too nice. My experience with Saint Rose is that it is, like many colleges in this country: overpriced. That is a common complaint with all colleges, but it's more than that. I think the value of the education you get there doesn't really match what you are/will be (if you are taking loans) paying for. I feel the education at Saint Rose is not preparing the younger generation to enter the workforce or the real world. The school boasts great academics and don't get me wrong, some classes have been very objective based and informative. However, some classes made me feel like I was still in high school/the public education system. As in, 1) They aren't that challenging, 2) They don't teach me skills and knowledge that I'll need in the future and 3) It feels like some of the classes had a larger agenda to them (trying to convince students rather than teach). Besides the academics, the campus is nice. Personally, Albany, NY is not my cup of tea but for someone coming from the NYC area (which there's a lot at SR), it might be nicer to be in a much smaller city. Besides that, I think most adults see college campuses kind of deteriorating in terms of the academics and culture. I don't need to go into details about that. I really can’t explain what I went through with the staff, so unprofessional and the attitude is horrible I always try to be as nice as possible but the way they treat people is awful. They literally screamed at my mom who does not speak any English for not having her vaccine card with her although she had picture of the vaccine but her phone was dead they yelled at her and did not try to help her enter the building at all. Once I came and approach them they was talking to me with awful attitude and yelling at me!!!!! although I respect the policy but they always could help in situation like this making everything 10X harder and unprofessional behaviour. Great academics (I was in Family and Child Studies so I could eventually do Early Childhood P-3, and I know the Musical Theater and Dance programs are amazing. Also the Visual Communication Design BFA) but I have complaints about dorm life. I was put in a dorm room with a smoker even though I have a chronic illness and explicitly put on the roommate application that I did NOT want to live with a smoker. She came in every night smelling of smoke and it was not… a good situation. Not much to do on campus either as far as activities (personally, as I'm not one for sports or many of the clubs they offered) I did appreciate that there was an ice skating rink so close to campus! But I went home every weekend. Disability Resource Center is AWESOME. If you need support or accommodations because of a disability or chronic illness I strongly suggest checking in with them!!!Laura Whitney

Now that my son is graduating I can write a review. The school administration, professors, and overall staff are unresponsive and ill informed. Takes weeks to get answers and then they are conflicting. Graduation ceremony multiple posts graduates need to be there for 11 no 12 no 11. Guests can arrive 60 minutes early. Guests stand In Parking lot 7 . No one there directing people to opposite side of building for entrance. Graduates just standing around in the parking lot again no direction. We went there for a sports clinic . Nice facility and staff. The campus seems well maintained and up dated. The training was professional. I’m not certain about the academics, as we were not there to take a class. The campus is a bit sprawling and it took a bit to figure out where we needed to go…all in all- the road signage is adequate. There is a Yogi Berra stadium which looked interesting.eric j

If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. I am a sophomore at Seton Hall studying psychology. From the moment I came to campus for my tour senior year of high school, the Seton Hall community has been nothing but welcoming. The sense of community I felt from the students and faculty, and the academic support they promised to give is what ultimately led me to commit to Seton Hall. Now that I'm a sophomore, I can say that sense of community and academic support is still so prevalent. As a freshman, SHU sets up each student with an academic advisor and a peer advisor, both of which were extremely supportive in my decision to switch my major. They outlined my new requirements and talked about each of my options, reminding me just how supported every single student is. For 4 years Rutgers was our home, and the center of our family life. Our eldest children grew up here and the youngest was born. It was a wonderful life experience as a family, as people and students. Life at Johnson apartments was happy, with difficult moments of adaptation but definitely a great challenge. This college has pros and cons just like any other institution. I was a business major, so I cannot speak for other programs. Some of the pros: -The campus is beautiful and very well maintained. -The campus is more-or-less contained in one area. -Some professors (not all) are very helpful if you show that you care. -The gym is actually useful. -The campus is expanding. -Very nice cafeteria. -There is a Starbucks next to the library, perfect for white girls. (FYI this is the only Starbucks in the USA that is franchised.) -Best school in NJ if you want to become a teacher. -STEM building is awesome. Cons: -Tuition is rising at an exponential rate. -Not exactly the most illustrious school. -Parking spaces are diminishing because of all the new buildings, adding to the HUGE parking problem that already plagues KU. -Not too engaging on campus since most people commute and leave right after their classes are over. -The grade curving is absolutely ridiculous. I worked my tail off to receive the same grade as the slackers. It got so bad that I had a 160% in a class one time. Had multiple classes where I received a +100%. How does that work? -Administration is horrible (especially admissions). -Not exactly located on the best side of town. -Student store is expensive (especially books). Student deli is extremely expensive (I'm talking $5-for-a-Red-Bull expensive.) -Some professors will avoid you like the plague outside of class. -Like anywhere else, some students don't care at all and you will have to deal with that. My overall experience with Kean was a good one. I transferred from a community college and Kean definitely was a step up.Robstat

Tuition is definitely affordable, and the campus is definitely nice. Professors are very understanding, and definitely help you when you need it. The only thing I have an issue with is the Trolley System. Sometimes I'd get out of class at 10:45 and my next class would be at 11 in East campus. Even if I got out of class and got to the Trolley stop by Kean Hall, sometimes the Trolley wouldn't come for 30 minutes. Maybe if the Kean App had a gps tracker on the Trolley to show where it was located, it would help a lot because sometimes you have to just hope it will come. Other than that I love this University. Miron Student Center is amazing, the information desk gives you all the information you need. Sandra Collins will always help you when you need it! There are many places to study in peace whether it be the library in a study room, Green Lane, East Campus, the Stem building, there's always a place to study in peace. There's also a variety of places to eat such as the cafe, Jersey Mike's, Auntie Anne's, or Smash Burger. Also, there are many clubs to join, and if you're a commuter doing extra curricular activities help kill time when you're waiting for parkway traffic to die down.Joshua Cadavos

EXCELLENT university! This university has a lot to offer to its students. Professors are very helpful and always encourage to become more independent and further your education within both the classroom and the future. Commuting can tough for those who drive (parking is an issue), but if your able to take NJ Transit then definitely do it. (Name another school that has a train station across the street from the campus.) Half hour from NYC, store outlets within a few miles for shopping. Kean has helped me immensely from not only an academic stand point, but also as an individual. I believe there are stories about Bank Street which other parents, potential parents and even students should be aware. I was a parent at the school for 10yrs and was involved in various school activities. At one time I was on the Director of Diversity’s (DoD) Parent Advisory Board (PAB). This was a group of parents organized the school year after the The Post wrote a less than flattering article concerning the then DoD in July 2016. Prior and during various meetings of the PAB, the new DoD provided information to be used as a guide to think about being more inclusive of differing views: “The Dangers of Echo Chambers on Campus” by Nicholas Kristof and a YouTube video of Obama’s farewell address from Chicago. Both the article and the speech talk about the dangers of retreating into our selective bubbles especially in our neighborhoods and learning institutions. “..we become so secure in our bubbles that we accept only information, whether true or not, that fits our opinions, instead of basing our opinions on the evidence that’s out there.” Obama said. Great article and a great speech but just words. Bank Street doesn’t stand behind those words and doesn’t stand with people who do. When you want to truly help people, you tell them the truth but if you want to help yourself, you tell them what they want to hear. At one of the PAB meetings, the philosophies of Dr. Thomas Sowell, Harvard Grad (magna cum laude), MS Columbia and PhD Univ. Chicago and Jason Riley, Editorial Board of the Wall Street Journal were introduced. The introduction was greeted with “We know those philosophies and we reject them; we reject them” by one of the parents. I doubt he really did. It would seem that the words from all the articles above were simply dismissed by a group of primarily whites “rejecting” the works of these influential black men simply because their writings did not fit the School's narrative. I can not understand people who say that minorities should be represented more broadly yet become irrational and repressive when a person of color represents a view differing from their own. I contacted Mr. Riley and he agreed to speak at the school and I even offered to pay his fee. At first, the DoD and the Dean offered to approve the engagement with the stipulation of a “balanced dais”. I asked both the Dean and the DoD if they'd be on the other side to which they declined and offered no recommendations. Funny how the two people who push the racial agenda were not confident enough to defend their curriculum to that of a well-educated, well-researched black man. How do you market yourself as a teacher of critical thinking while suppressing differing, well-researched views? Even the idea of inviting Mr. Riley to speak at the school was ultimately rejected after other parents petitioned against his speaking. The mob, which Nicholas Kristof had written, won. Separately, after the NY Post article, several families who were thought to be possible contributors to the write-up were ostracized and verbally chastised by some members of the community. I never understood why Bank Street’s administrative staff didn’t stand up to support those being mistreated. Although they talk of community, they left those parents, some of whom had been at the school for years, to fend for themselves against the mob. I never got the chance to ask the Dean how he felt when he found out that some parents from the School’s Parents of Kids of Color group petitioned against his hiring simply because of the color of his skin. They wrote a letter to the Hiring Committee to petition for one applicant over the other specifically because of race. What would have been the reaction if a group of parents had racially profiled a non-white? I also found the school weak in languages, sciences and athletics. All this after paying over $500k in after-tax tuition plus tutoring (which you will need) and donations for your child to attend K-8. There's more, but I'm limited in space.Slinks
