20 Best Physician Assistant Programs In Denton, TX (2022 Updated)

The medical[EMS] wing here allows injured students whom are not compatible with the requirements or functionality of the physical job requirements for that particular field. Although the Stewart's are head representatives of this college[President] as a married couple, they suppress the indigent students by not providing a job placement in the medical dictation fields after passing medical terminology and Anatomy & Physiology courses as possible candidates in the local hospitals as medical scribes. It is vital that NETCC(a tax payer college) model the First Amendment values they are supposed to be teaching to students, Today's NETCC students will be tomorrow's legislators, judges, university presidents, police, EMS, nurses, and voters, but instead they are sending the wrong message: that government can dictate that sharing the ten commandments and that Jesus died for them to be saved from the wrath of God deserves expulsion on the grounds that it hurts other student's feelings and that safe spaces are needed to also protect other students from freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and freedom of expression. Despite claiming inclusiveness and diversity as its core values, NETCC is failing to foster real diversity of thought and is, instead discriminating against Christian groups based on it's beliefs. A lawsuit needs to be filed challenging the school's assumption that it can expel student groups based on the belief that Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. It is a contradiction to NETCC policy for a teacher to discriminate based on religion. I personally was pulled aside by their medical director of the EMS program and told I was being expelled for hurting a student's feelings by sharing my world view, and then told by the teacher that, "Jesus Christ is not the only way to Heaven". It would be absurd for NETCC to require the vegan student group to appoint a meat-lover as its president. Lastly a good teacher that teaches EMS doesn't disrespect the appointment of men and woman who gave their lives as firefighters. The First Amendment dictates that the ‘marketplace of ideas’ on a public tax payer campus cannot prefer some viewpoints and cannot exile or denigrate others.Nor can the government force citizens to choose between exercising their constitutional rights on the one hand and participating in government-run programs on the other.” That discriminatory practice, however, became evident when school officials refused to discipline the Medical Director of EMS after an internal investigation and to expelled me. In this case charges need to be issued against NETCC and the staff. The school is favoring anti-Christian groups over Christian groups. My fundamental and clearly established rights under the First Amendment were violated by the staff and medical director of EMS at NETCC.Daniel Hamilton

The Director of the school's police Academy is a childish, unprofessional, prick!!! He soiled my name with at least 3 police departments because he didn't like me. He claimed I had a problem with my anger. His name was Richard Jones. Let me explain something about the Richard Jones situation to anyone that might read this review. Unlike many of the unsecured dudes that get into security seeking authority, badges, and a vehicle to drive their deep rooted insecurity I had always wanted to be a police officer. I grew up in the Stevens Courts projects in Texarkana, Texas and I will tell you right now that it is a misconception about the black community's view of the police. My community deeply admired the police. One of my mentors Texarkana, Texas police officer Presley as I remember would come to the projects, play football and order pizza with the young people. This forever changed my view of the police and from there I always wanted to become one. Furthermore my record has never shown any signs of me being an unstable person. I am a black man free of criminal charges and a criminal record. He decided to destroy my chances of a good paying job for my family and I because he didn't like me. Trying to get this story out there is long over due but oh yes I haven't forgot. I am currently working in the Private Security Industry but nearly finish with my Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice- I also a have a diploma completion in investigating crime scenes. Richard Jones and his academy is a non-factor in my life at this point but the fact that this was did to me has affected my career. BTW. I AM ONLY CLICKING THAT STAR TO GET TO THE PUBLISH SCREEN. This community college is not the best. There are some ups and downs. The professors barely help when asked, the administration kinda screws you over and somehow makes it your fault. Some of the online work is not the same as learned in class. When you write essays you have to use the sources from the online library the college provides and you're not allowed to use any other sources. Although if you do, you will fail. Their system is completely messed up and had someone else's credits show up as mine. I have taken several extra classes because I was told I needed them when I actually didn't. I have wasted my time and money. On the bright side there are some good professors who care and will help if asked but it seems to me that every time there is a good professor they move to other colleges.Cara Thompson

Baylor is an amazing school. For a few reviews before me we are not all "rich kids wanting to blow daddy's money" or "rude". I personally have a bad background that would not match the first statement. I am not rich. I am blessed to be in this university thanks to scholarships and my hard working mother. Baylor itself is a blessing. Its a rigorous school BUT very well worth it. I love being part of the Baylor community. Its a beautiful campus filled with loving people. Its not "perfect" because nothing is. There will be a few issues like yes there are some kids who don't care and my be rude or blow things off but really if you are a part of it you will see the majority of the campus and the people here are more than amazing and loving. This is a fantastic university for the liberal arts. I have talked to people from other universities and to those that have come to visit me at college, and all of them see a difference in the student body. There is just a different atmosphere. All the people are kind and welcoming and always willing to help in times of need. The professors are nationally ranked and are not only outstanding in their fields of study, but wonderful people as well. Even if you're not looking to go to college, its a beautiful campus to just walk around in. It's almost like a park in some ways. Just give it a visit and I promise you'll be hooked! I loved my time as I attended Baylor for undergrad, and grad school (2008-2015). The campus has changed so much since i first step foot in 2008 (all for the better). Baylor (and Waco) is in a resurgence/growth period. Its an awesome time for Baylor and Waco. I loved my time there even though I'm not religious (agnostic/theist). Great people (students and especially faculty), and community. There was a reason why I came back to get my masters at Baylor. They helped me get through some rough times, and i am better for it now. I took classes after having graduated from a different university years ago. The administration here – specifically, admissions and Student Business Services – is horrible to work with. Rude, don't answer their phones, poor automated phone system, basically take your money and make you live with the poor customer service they provide because once you're enrolled, you don't have a choice, right? Additionally, I took a class from the worst professor I have ever had. His name I unfortunately can't recall. He patronized students who weren't well-versed in calculus and was rude in general. His teaching method consisted entirely of projecting pages of the book on the board and copying the sample problems. I couldn't believe it. He did not answer and student questions and did not seem to care about his students or his own abilities as a professor. I actually stopped attending the course, wasting a thousand dollars, because I couldn't sit through another class. I really like this school! People overall are friendly, and very helpful. I ll miss it here. And living on campus wasn't bad either I had a great dorm experience. Im graduating soon and I feel confident I will find a job through my hard work. Work very hard. Yes it's fun. But don't slip up your freshman year. Your gpa will be hard to get back up even when you make good grades. You got to make great grades. Don't party too hard. Education is something that should be taken seriously! But don't give up. One thing I would suggest is not being an undecided major. I regret that. Find something you're passionate about or something you like the most or feel is most beneficial to you and pick that as your major. In summary: Overcrowded, nearly over-priced, but with under-funded departments. Not handicapped friendly or even fat person friendly (they haven't upgraded half the lecture halls so if you're not stick thin be prepared to sit uncomfortably in a tight chair surrounded by hundreds of other people). Near non-existent diversity. Do not transfer here, you will receive no assistance. If this is all you can afford and if you manage to find a place to live near enough to campus then this school is OKAY. I transferred here because it offered a program I wanted to take. The first time, the class was canceled due to there being not enough sign ups. Fine. That was Spring and now we’re in the Fall semester. Once again, the class was canceled. It was canceled 1 week before the 2nd session was to start. I now only have 2 classes (a 3rd one was dropped because it overlapped the class that was eventually canceled). My teacher is cool so, no complaints. My online class…. it takes my teacher 2-3 weeks just to grade your work. I’ve done online classes at other schools and was graded within the week. I’m going back to my previous school. I chose this college because it was ranked as one of the top ten community colleges in California for online courses. Diversity is great, many certificates and degrees offered, and the counselors I’ve spoke with over the phone were polite and helpful. They wait until more than a month into the semester to process student loans – and the form should specify that it’s for the year. I filled it out thinking it was only for the semester. No return emails from financial aid in the matter. Overall I would recommend WLAC, but their admissions and financial aid offices need to work on responding to students.Jason G

The school was okay. The admission office is terrible. I enjoyed the professors they have great ones. Working here was bad there’s nepotism and favoritism allowed. The staff isn’t the nicest I think student should be respected a bit more and heard. As an employee here I know I tried to help as many students sincerely. The process needs to be more efficient. buses and parking are nightmares here. No parking or you will have to pay everytime you park including weekend whereas other schools often free. Buses always late and full. The school not even tried to get more buses. Also, there is 40mins wait between 2 buses. Finally, unequal opportunity for on cambus job or help. We came to many departments and asked for help but they rarely tried to solve but kept saying we could not do anything. And we came back multiple time and the other did help us out. I enjoyed my time at UNT, made some great friends, and I have good memories. However, this University is not longer a place of higher education but a political activist training ground. I never thought that I’d see the day that The First Amendment would not be honored at UNT, but that is what has happened. And to think I have a degree in Criminal Justice from there is similar to being trained as an EMT by Dr. Kevorkian. The Grad program is a joke. I've never met more people incompetent of doing their job. The undergrad school should conduct training with the grad school to get them up to par. Because they dropped the ball, I now get stuck with their issues. Also the elderly lady working in billing should take a phone etiquette class. We are in 2022. There shouldn't be this many issues consistently happening. Yet, the undergrad side was on top of every single aspect. As a fairly recent former student, I can say that AC provides very little opportunity. I left AC after I landed on medical leave, and eventually I decided not to go back. I spent some time at my local jr college while working through my health, and the academics were far superior, the teachers had more experience and it provided me with far more opportunities than AC ever did/would've. Seriously, TCC was harder than Austin College, and after one summer course there I had a halfway decent job in my field of study. The freshmen C/I classes at AC are pointless. The "boardroom setting" offers no value. In depth discussions about the use of the word "blobs" in a short story will not prepare you for the professional world nor will lectures supporting the homosexual beastiality fetish shared between Scooby and Shaggy. The small class sizes lead to several problems, a major one being favoritism. The staff is very unprofessional and unreliable. As far as student life… the Greek system is local. The student body is eclectic, but everyone mostly stays sequestered within their own little groups and it kind of has the vibe of a really snooty private high school — split down the middle between rich kids with unimpressive academic records vs genius level scholarship students. They don't offer athletic scholarships, so their athletes are given "academic scholarships" and this has created an infestation of mediocre students that cost the school money. A lot of the kids have learning disabilities and/or social/mental problems. One girl asked me how to spell "easier" and another (that I had only known for a few days) went into full detail about her depression and suicide attempt. I told my RA about this out of concern and she implied that these types of encounters are not uncommon. The student center is tiny and there's really nothing to do in there except play pool or darts. The cafeteria food is shoddily prepared, and the campus is located in a residential area, so to go out to eat or hit the grocery store, you have to have a car. It's a very claustrophobic and unclean environment. We (the students) got sick a lot. My friends and I were stranded twice by that bus thing when it never returned to pick us up and take us back to campus. Yeah, not the best student life really and the professors are pretty inconsistent when it comes to giving help and being available… and sometimes downright spiteful towards their students. AC was very frustrating. It doesn't have the best student life and the professors are extremely inconsistent when it comes to giving help and being available. I had an awful experience with a media professor who was downright spiteful, sent long e-mails with abrasive language while refusing to meet with me in person and didn't read the rough draft of my final paper, just gave it a 100, and this led to issues with the final that highly affected my grade. It's not a terrible place for pre-med students, at least as far as straight up academics, but most (and most of the students overall) really hated it there. All the things AC claims as its advantages are actually extremely destructive. Go to Southwestern or Baylor instead.Amanda Norman

contrary to positive reviews from alumni claiming I never attended college here, I did. This is a terrible college. It's not even accredited from the state of Texas what I can tell. I graduated from this school in 2009. This place is a ripoff that claims it teaches you something by asking you to learn… Except you pay them to teach. They often destroy students futures. attending school here opened no 'doors' for me, in fact it closed many for me. since starting college here, people have refused to interview me for jobs on the grounds that I don't have a 4 year degree when I do. There's no campus security (2 meter maids are the entire acpd), the food in the cafeteria will give you dysentery and is often rotten, the career services office is completely unhelpful and spent a lot of their time insulting me and yelling in my face, and the student body is rude unkind and down right threatening. I was assaulted on campus my freshman year, and the school didn't even do anything about it, in fact the Vice President of Student life (Tim Millerick) did a lot to obfuscate justice and prevent sherman texas police from getting involved. I have since started attending community college in Dallas Texas and at UT arlington and have received a far better education there for much less money! Seriously, Austin College cost me $117k over 4 years and ruined my life! don't go to school here! Since graduation I have received threatening phone calls from Tim millerick every couple of months, and I have repeatedly called the police in regards to this. 9 years of death threats over the phone is inappropriate, unethical, and illegal. Austin College has never been anything, but a positive experience for me. As a sophomore, I’ve fallen in love with the academic opportunities on this campus. The class work may be challenging, but AC never leaves you without a support system. With small classroom settings, professors are available to help with lessons or assignments all throughout class. Office hours are always available for outside help and there are even of free tutoring opportunities. As far as extra curricular activities, there are tons of them! Between Greek Life, personal expression clubs, language clubs and service groups… no interest goes unmet. If Greek life or clubs aren’t your thing, CAB (Campus Activity Board) makes sure there are events almost every night for students to take a break and relax with. Campus life is great, but to help prepare us for graduate life as well, Career Services strives to get every student career-ready. They offer Career-Readiness Checks, mock interviews, internship opportunities, resume critiques and more to ensure that every student feels prepared for the real world after graduating. Opportunities are endless here. I’m confident that by the time I leave Austin College, I will be better because of it.Pluto Princess

When I first started signing up for my MBA I advised them that I had just graduated with my bachelors degree. My goal was to start August 5, and I submitted all my necessary paperwork and cooperated as such. When it got to my transcripts I was advised I could not start because the conferral date was not on the transcripts. The enrollment specialist told me to reach out to my previous school. I did and it was a hassle. I called the enrollment specialist at Capella to advise of the updates to only find out that Capella’s registrar team had already been in contact with my school. I wanted to start on the 5th as it was very discouraging to go through the process to be turned away at last minute. 1). Total waist of time as I took time out of my day to complete orientation and do what they advised of me. 2) I asked to speak with a supervisor who was very vague and could not provide the information needed. 3) I again called Capella to try and escalate the situation, but the manager never returned my call. I feel as if they had me sign up because they were the ones to get paid for each student to enroll and failed to educate me properly in the beginning, which is very misleading and discouraging. Since no one wanted to comply and take responsibility I will be escalating this to the BBB as this is not my fault and I should had been able to start in the promised time given and should have been educated properly.Tearra McCray

The worst university ever! They made me waste my time and my money from the first day, every time I communicated with them each counselor told me something different, and more than a month passed and I did not have an accurate answer on the status of my application, after a month a person from human resources let me know that I had to do my transcripts equivalency again on another website because the one I had already sent twice to them waiting for they review it (and that they themselves told me it was okay to do it that way) was not valid for them to take me into account to start the course this past October. 1- First time the transcripts were not encrypted, so they asked my to ask the institution they send it again but encrypted this time and I did it and sent it again. And after that they let me know that didn’t work for them. So I wasted my time, my money and above all the opportunity to start on the desired date. A very bad job of the staff. Very bad communication with the students who want to start there, and they also contradict each other. They all say different things and waste your time. They are also very rude. I hope that no one has this bad experience, nor misses the opportunity to start the course on the date they planned, and due to the horrible work of other people you lose opportunities in life.Claudia Espinosa

From the beginning of my Master's level school search, Capella stood out. I had a great recommendation from a friend already, but in researching complete online programs to work with my schedule, Capella checked all of the boxes I needed. I had a wonderful experience with my admissions counselor and continue to have great interactions with all communication. I am happy with all faculty thus far and feel that I am learning exactly what I need for my future as a school counselor. The course load is what I expected it to be and the time I spend on classwork is time well spent. I feel very confident that I will be prepared to enter the field of school counseling when I graduate. The very first thing Capella does once you are enrolled is to start you in a class to help navigate your program and get you familiar with the online format. This helped immensely and calmed my nerves for entering into a graduate program online. I feel very well cared for and have not had a negative experience yet! I really like the flexibility of the online courses, the affordability and the variety of degree options they have. My advisors and teachers have been very great but communicating with the other staff at this school is very frustrating. The employees in the financial aid department are very rude and condescending and they hang up on you abruptly whenever they get frustrated with you. The registar’s office is by far the WORST. Very nasty employees in that department who talk down to you and treat you like a child. They seem to forget they work for a college, not an elementary school. One spent 10 minutes arguing on the phone with me just because I wanted my new advisor’s phone number and email. The “career counselors” offer no type of help or advice and they just tell you to “google it” whenever you have a basic question about a certain major. They are also very judgmental if you express a desire to finish with only an associates degree and not transfer to a 4 year, not considering not everyone has the financial means to do so. The call center employees are very disrespectful and seem like they want to find reasons to argue with callers. There are also huge issues with miscommunication at this school and everyone seems to have different answers about certain topics which causes a lot of errors. Certain departments are also not great about contacting back even after leaving numerous voicemails/emails. Overall I like the school itself but they need to either retrain the employees on basic respect and customer service or they need to hire new ones.Resident Anon

The teachers here are all outstanding and they make you feel like they want you to succeed. I have taken College Algebra, Biology and Spanish in the classroom and the instructors were all topnotch. There is also additional help available to students in the free math lab and writing centers as well as Spanish tutoring. The online classes are not that confusing but you do need to pay attention because sometimes you are required to take classes through third-party online textbooks via the access codes. The only problems I had were with transferring credits to the school and getting contradictory information from the financial aid office on one occasion. I do wish the school did a better job with advising students but I understand the logistics issues. Everyone at the hub is friendly and helpful! Use them they are a great resource. To all the people that left negative reviews, I would say "you get out what you put in". This is college and you get treated like an adult.Linda Brady

Good school. Dr. Haskins is a great teacher for the cisco CCNA certification course. All the material is provided. However, I feel as if the course is a little rushed. I understand the school is accelerated learning, but 8 chapters a week with only hearing lecture on 4 of said chapters is a lot for people who have jobs outside of school. I am almost done with my time here and I would recommend this school for those wanting to learn and possibly start a career in IT. Again, Dr. Haskins is an awesome, awesome instructor, and I hope he teaches more courses in the future.Brian Moller

Choc is convenient to me, but unfortunately, after my experience here, I will drive much further to receive care somewhere else. The experience with your hospital left me in tears and a baby without care for breathing difficulty and croup. After waiting seven hours with no updates or information (I asked several times for updates and to make sure they didn’t call me and I missed it), I left to seek care from my primary pediatrician. I was told they were going to administer a breathing treatment to my baby and then I could be discharged without having to wait to see a doctor. I saw everyone around me get called to be taken to a room, while I waited for hours and hours. No one ever came. Then I saw the nurse who told me my baby would be treated leave the hospital as his shift had ended. Still no communication. I arrived at 1:30 am and left at 8:30 am. Upon arrival, I had to park on the third floor of the parking garage, and none of the elevators were operating and so I had to go down the stairs with my baby in his stroller and diaper bag and all. It was unsafe and extraordinarily difficult. I will never consider using this hospital again, and I will be telling everyone I come across not to use this hospital, including every parent I know. I understand times may be challenging with increased wait times but this experience was beyond unacceptable leaving a mother with a baby having trouble breathing, barking like a seal (croup), and restricted airways sitting in the lobby for seven hours with no information, no one checking on us, no one offering any concern whatsoever. I gave this hospital one star because there wasn’t an option for zero stars.Rafael Garcia

I appreciate this place with all I have. My daughter was diagnosed with Chronic Asthma when she was two years old. We had been to so many hospitals where she was always provided temporary treatment. As soon as we arrived at the CHOC emergency room, (can’t remember the year, maybe 2017), my daughter was given the best care I had ever experienced in Southern California. I had been to USC Hospital – Los Angeles, St. Jude Hospital – Fullerton, Mercy Hospital – Merced, Children’s Hospital – Fresno, Miller Children’s Hospital – Long Beach, and many more. But when we arrived here they basically told me, “she has been hospitalized too many times, your daughter needs lasting treatment and assistance, we can set her up with a doctor here in our clinics”…. Ever since then my daughter, who is now turning 10, has been in great health because of her doctor at the pulmonary clinic! Glory be to God and I thank her doctor 👩‍⚕️ (Dr. Patricia Tate) for her immeasurable help and support in my daughters life. For four years she received 6-month check-ups and, every time, her doctor was helpful and understanding. Even when I wasn’t doing what was right as a parent (giving my daughter the prescription doses as often as prescribed), she showed a sincere concern to get us back on track. I would definitely recommend this place to any child who has chronic asthma. I’m not sure if you need to be an extreme case like my daughter was. She was in and out of emergency rooms for 3-4 years before we got referred to the pulmonary clinic.Kimberly Mendoza

I’ve been to the ER quite a few times with both of my children (my daughter has diabetes and my son has breathing issues), and I will never take my kids to any other ER if I can help it. First off, every single nurse and doctor I’ve encountered in the ER has been courteous, caring, gentle, and playful with my children. They listen to everything I have to say and explain in detail what is happening to my children. Secondly this is truly a hospital that is geared specifically towards kids. For example, when my daughter got an IV placed or my son got stitches they brought in an employee who’s job it is to distract and make sure my kids didn’t know what was going on. I could literally make a list of 10 other “kid specific” things this hospital does to make sure kids are well taken care of. They’re just amazing! My daughter is also seen in their Clinic and again everyone is AMAZING! They talk to her on her level, they roll with her 5 year old tangents, and they play with her. On one specific visit everyone that came into the exam room knew the floor was lava and played along with my daughters game. It was amazing! We have delivered two babies at Houston Methodist, and we could not imagine going anywhere else to have a child. The professionalism, expertise, and overall great attitudes demonstrated by the staff here is second to none. Our L&D nurses and techs were all amazing and every single one of them went that extra mile for us to make us feel more at ease and comfortable throughout our time here. They paid attention to the details and treated us like we were part of their family. The NICU nurses showed their dedication and compassion for my son and all of their patients. I never felt worried when I would have to leave my son solely in their care because I knew they had everything under control. Every single doctor my family had shined and really showed their level of dedication they have to their craft. They never spoke down to us or hid anything from us, and they were honest, personable, and compassionate in every interaction we had with them. Even the staff we encountered in the cafeteria, health and nutrition, housekeeping, and administration all treated us we the greatest attitude. You could tell that throughout the hospital the staff had great relationships with their patients, visitors, and with each other. I don’t think you could ask for much more than that from a hospital staff. I will always be grateful for this experience they helped provide and will forever feel comfortable bringing my family here, if needed. Thank you to the staff of Houston Methodist.Macon Fife

This place is horrible. Dr. Boom needs to bring in a new staff. The people he has working under him start from the environmental director. The people from H.R. This place loves cover-up things. My Patient Right, we're violated by a Psycho staff member. I called to report it back in August. I was told by the assistant director from environmental service that she will be getting back to me about this issue. It's 9/28/22. I'm still waiting. What really got me? I explained to her what happened; she tells me well, "What do you want me to do about it?" I even emailed her boss; he never replied back. I've called H.R. Many times, left messages . I spoke to the head person of H.R. it was a waste of time as well. This place is sick. I'm sure I will get a reply back after they see this review. This Hospital required me to leave the room at 8:00 pm where my daughter has been in induced labor since last night. They allowed her husband to stay with her but I am sitting in a cold waiting room at 11:00 pm instead of being with my only daughter while she is in labor with her fifth child. I don't want to leave her here as anything could happen with her and the baby. In the room was a nice comfortable recliner and a sofa where I could have rested after driving more than 200 miles to be here with her. I don't call this hospitality or family friendly. On the other hand I thought the staff was very professional and courteous and helpful in every way.Kathy Reneau Gomez

I am a current student at CHCP and I can tell you the school is great ,and they do make you feel very comfortable , the staff is very kind and helpful, they are truelly there for you when you need a hand with class concerns, personal issues or life issues, their open door policy is very real and comforting to have when you feel like you have no one to turn to if you need to talk. I am taking the M.A. course and my instructors Ms.Myers and Ms Ewing are amazing instructors. This school is DEFINITELY a place to come to to get your medical education. I loved the school. The teachers, career services, financial aid and admissions are such great people and very helpful. I loved feeling welcoming, being taught so much in such a short amount time. Even if they’re not your instructors and need help you can always go to any of them and they will help you out with anything you need help with. Great environment, good vibes and a great place to meet people. Awful. Only good thing are the nurses who have always been so sweet. But every single time I’ve been here, the PA and doctors themselves have been extremely horrible and dismissive. I’m chronically ill. I do not go into the emergency room until something is extremely wrong. But each and every time I get a doctor who is extremely dismissive, condescending and even when the entire place is empty, acts like he can’t even spare a second. I was having an allergic reaction and I could not breathe properly. I felt like I was being strangled. I could hardly talk. My face was swelling and I was extremely itchy. My heart rate was also extremely high. Had this issue once before, an allergic reaction to a food item, was given epinephrine and was fine. The doctor decided without even listening to my history that it was all in my head and I was making it up. How do I make up swelling and rashes? He decided he was just going to give me a steroid injection and send me home. I had a horrible reaction to a steroid, face swelling, crazy rash all over the body, itching everywhere, and they sent me home and the doctor refused to even come look at it. I went home feeling way worse than when I got there. He refused to even get my list of medication that I’m on (which after leaving I looked up the medication he gave me and it strongly interacts with more than one of my medications). I still couldn’t breathe and I was even more swollen and had an insane rash all over my body. On top of this my discharge paperwork didn’t even state the medication I was given, nor that I had a severe reaction to it. So I left sobbing, with no help, still unable to properly breathe. The nurse had to run back and forth with the doctor as he refused to come in to my room. Absolutely unacceptable. It’s fine. I’ll be reporting to the licensing board anyways as this kind of dismissive care and lack of treatment is not only unethical but dangerous.Trish Pizzica

The Emergency Department was moderately busy when I arrived. I was sent there by my doctor directly from the Surgery Center due to an adverse event of possible aspiration pneumonia during surgery. The personnel at the desk were somewhat dismissive and indifferent. Being in the ER was frustrating. I felt like no one was really listening to me. When I was finally admitted for observation because they determined I had aspiration pneumonia, the attitude of the staff in the actual hospital was like night and day. Almost all the nurses I had in the five days I was there were great. They were very helpful, kind, and engaged. The first doctor in charge of my case was nice but didn't seem to know much about my case. He asked me on two different days if I was on oxygen at home, which was an ill-informed question, considering I was in the hospital for acute aspiration pneumonia so I would not have been on oxygen prior. I was told by him I would be going home on Thursday if all stayed the same overnight. Unfortunately, he didn't even come by to see me on Thursday, and evidently didn't give any orders for me to go home. I believe I stayed there one day longer than I needed to and was therefore charged for everything involved in that extra day. I also got conflicting information from the two doctors about when I should follow up with my primary care doctor. One said two weeks, but my discharge papers said to make an appointment as soon as possible. The experience wasn't bad all in all, but the coordination of care could have been better.Michelle Terrell

Back in June I nearly died one morning after suffering multiple strokes and a heart attack mysteriously from blood clots. I’m young and had no history of such issues. I worked two jobs seven days a week and was quite physically active. At this hospital in Denton I met and received medical care from some awesome people. It was such a refreshing difference to encounter medical professionals who truly cared. I regret not getting the name of an awesome nurse upstairs who was of great assistance to me at such a difficult time in life. The medication and pains in my body made it difficult to think clearly at times. She was one of several nurses and others who did their best to help me. I appreciate them so much. It touched my heart to hear and see how nurses and others responded when they knew I’d be leaving the hospital soon. Maybe I touched their hearts as well. Hello, my name is Tammie Tarpley Harris. I graduated in March of 2022 with my first degree in the HMAS program at 54 years old! CHCP has made this life changing dream come true for me. The cost and short time to complete the program really helped me to decide that this was the right step and time for me to do something for myself. The admission staff was really professional and efficient with every step of enrollment as well. I remember being so nervous that I would fail on my first day but Mrs Anderson, my first instructor really assured me that I would be just fine! All of the instructors are really hands on, even online! They are concerned for your future and making sure that you have the support and tools to get you there! I have enjoyed learning in a fast-paced setting throughout the past few months that I have been enrolled in the program to become a medical assistant. For the past week, Ms. Marshall, my previous teacher, has been very supportive and understanding of both my learning and myself. I'm currently enrolled in Ms. Morehead's class, and on my first day, I have injected Ms. Morehead with saline as a form of vaccine. I learn how to draw blood with a needle on the first day in addition getting blood drawn.Natalia Aguilar

I really love how I have learned different techniques from my various instructors because it has aided me to learn what techniques I like best. One of my favorite instructors has been Mrs.Morchead. She always makes her class fun and tells us stories about her experience in the medical field, which has helped me learn. I’m so glad I made the decision to continue my education with ACI. If I could give them more stars I would. I dropped out of high school and waited till turned 18 and got my GED . I started my first semester at dcccd when Covid hit. I was really bummed but still very motivated to continue my education. When I learned I’d be taking summer 2020 completely online I knew there was a chance I might struggle at the beginning but who wouldn’t ? That’s why there’s available help from your instructors. So I took the courses and failed miserably. I lacked the help and support I needed and deserved at DCCCD. I truly believed community college was my only option for a very long time. Until I heard my neighbors success story with ACI. Being family owned and operated was a green flag right of the bat. It’s very important to know you have people on your side who truly care and want to help the best way possible and I’m confident I will have their full support with anything I need throughout my time here. Im confident I will succeed in their online paralegal program without a doubt. Fred was amazing, very helpful throughout the whole enrollment process. The whole admissions team working close together made the whole process quick and easy. Everyone was very welcoming. They made me feel like family from the moment I walked in, literally. I was in the first cohort for the LVN/LPN program at ACI, and it was so definitely worth it! My experience though, was quite different from many of my peers as I was pregnant through out almost the entire program from beginning to end. Even though I had every odd against me, every one of my instructors did everything they could to ensure my success and I can never thank this administration enough for that. I graduated in October along with my peers, and I just found out that I passed the Texas state board exam, so I am officially an LVN/LPN! I am forever thankful to this school and my instructors Miss Bailey, Miss Nikki, and Miss Tawana. I’m in the Concorde Career Program, my admissions coordinator Mr. Greg Stewart was always on top of things, easy to get ahold of and always professional. He made the admissions process such a breeze to gather through. The program is definitely challenging but so worth it. My lecture teacher Mr.Smith was awesome when it came time for certification she made sure if we didn’t understand something she would have private tutoring to make sure we understood. I had a great experience at Village Vision! I was greeted by everyone in the office and felt like I was a celebrity. When I arrived, Dr. Jacob was with another patient but the wait time was less then 5 min all together. So let me break that down, I waited maybe 2 minutes before I went back with staff to do the testing and prerequisites for my visit. I waited for Dr.Jacob in her exam room for 3 minutes because I had a question and needed clarification on the test which delayed Dr. Jacob from seeing me. Overall, it was a great experience! Dr. Jacob and her team were so helpful and kind and so attentive to me, I genuinely got one on one attention. Dr. Jacob went over my notes and gave me different options on how to better my vision and helped me chose between contacts and glasses. Called same day for an emergency appointment and was given a 2:45 appointment time. Received a call saying they had a cancellation so was able to get in earlier. Loved this as I was miserable. Was able to fill out all paperwork on line making things to go must faster. I loved the Dr. She was so thoughtful and thorough. The entire staff seemed to flawlessly work together in harmony! I truly felt that I was given undivided attention. I have found a new vision center for my future visits. And with getting samples in office I was able to get immediate relief, while waiting on the Pharmcy to fill my prescription ( which at this time I’m still waiting). I took my mother to Village Vision for an eye exam. She had cataracts removed about 2 years ago and she needed a follow up eye exam. The technician was very patient and thorough with my mom . She allowed me to interact and help too. Then Dr Lammert came in and she was wonderful with my mom. She also was so patient and understanding with how she interacted with her. Dr. Brar and her staff offer an amazing dental experience and I am so excited to have found them so close to home! After switching insurances, I decided to thoroughly research every candidate before deciding on a new dentist. I wanted a dentist office with up-to-date technology, a unique customer service experience, an online application option, and same day appointment scheduling. Dr. Brar checked all of those boxes. Within a few minutes of walking in, I was in the chair chatting it up with the dental assistant who treated me like we had known each other for years. I felt right at home. They took X-rays with the handheld gun and used an intra-oral camera to get a full look of my teeth and gums. Dr. Brar sat with me and showed me each and every one of my teeth in picture and X-ray form. She went over all the issues she was seeing, which aligned perfectly with what pain and sensitivity I was feeling. She then explained the process and procedure and was transparent and clear about what my insurance accepted. They went straight to work, no waiting period involved! Did I mention there was a TV with a reachable remote for me to play with at all times? Needless to say, never in my wildest dreams did I think I would be coming out of a dentist office with 6 completely redone fillings, no more sensitivity, and bragging to my family about my experience. I came back this week, 20 minutes early, to get a molding of my teeth to start an at home whitening procedure. It is great to know that even if I come in early, they run on time! They immediately sat me down all excited! They also prescribed me a very cheap anti-sensitivity toothpaste MI Paste to take care of any sensitivity concerns I have. I love them! I have been a patient of Dr. Brar's office for several years and always have an amazing visit from walking in the door until leaving. I moved to Carrollton and still drive to see her. All of Dr. Brar's staff is so kind and enjoyable while I am at the visit. Dr. Brar is such a kind, caring dentist and always goes above and beyond. She remembers my prior visits and follows up on concerns. She truly cares about their patients and their care. She's come in on a Saturday to fill a cavity. She always checks on how my daughter is and remembers her. I feel more a part of a family than a patient at the office. Whitney has been the office manager and really goes above and beyond. She is always patient with me if I need to reschedule or squeeze in somewhere. I called my insurance for a question the other day and by coincidence they noticed that Whitney had called and sorted something out for me. I cannot say the same about my other doctors; some ask me to call as they don't want to wait on hold. It's things like this that make my life easier and I appreciate! Just finished my first visit here. The staff was friendly and Dr. Brar’s knowledge gave me confidence in her recommendations. She recognized some previous dental work that I’d was silently concerned about and suggested better options. I’ve also been needing to get my wisdom teeth out and she clearly explained, with imagery, how they were damaging my teeth. She then walked me through a treatment plan and she and the assistant cleaned my teeth to pearly white. Very great first experience!Calvary Zender

The only reason I placed 2 stars is because the dean and the man who enrolled us was great. But other than that,the reviews for this school is spot on. They care only about money. After financial aid,I was told I still needed to pay 221.00 a month or my daughter would be kicked out. The lady who assisted with FA couldn't care less about anyone who goes to this school. And don't have colored hair either,they'll make you change it. When my daughter could not log in to the online course,no one bothered to help or contact us. I had my daughter withdraw. 18,000 dollars and not even a call back. So I'd shop around for a school and make sure its best for you. This one tho,was not it.Katt T

When researching schools and you read “for-profit” as Concordes main description- believe it. I was accepted into the dental hygiene program and was asked to put a down payment of an amount that was almost 5x my rent. I was considered an “independent student.” (no financial help from family) As soon as I communicated the amount was not doable the school redacted my acceptance and gave my spot to someone else… so before you put all your time, money, and effort into this school-don’t. I cannot speak for the program itself and I’ve heard nothing but great things about the instructor… but at the end of the day that doesn’t matter if Concorde is “for-profit” and not for education.Emilee Gestes

Please do not go to this school. The instructors are very disrespectful and do not teach anything. The purpose is to fail you so that you can pay again since you have to retake the whole semester. The first term had a 30 students class and it went down to like 12 of us. This term everyone is failing so far because the term 2 teacher is random and does not go by the book.There are around 5 students in term 5 which is the last term and most of them have repeated at least one term. I am looking into other programs. Stay away, it is easy to get into the program, but you won't learn anything and NCLEX passing rates are low according to the instructors.Kukita Arocha
