We were working on our project (Our Green Hope) today where we used 3000 reusable bags to make the largest mosaic. The worker at the campus were friendly and supportive. After finishing the project, all the 3K bags were given for FREE at Kroger to encourage people to start using reusable bags instead of plastic grocery bags. This place is a disgrace. The many of the professors refuse to meet outside of their office hours, even when their office hours are during another class. As of now I can count no less than 10 broken vending machines on campus, some that haven't been fixed in 4 months! I've called both CMU and the vendors, and neither one wants to fix the machines. I guess they don't want to make money. The parking meters aren't maintained. I found one of the only available parking spaces near the Univerity Center. It was filled with quarters so much that it couldn't accept any more, so I was unable to pay my meter. You supposedly can pay with an app, but it's only available for iPhone, and I have an android, so i want able to pay that way either. I came out to find I had been ticketed for not paying for a space (I didn't have a student pass at the time). This is an absurd business practice. The bathrooms smell like urine all the time, especially in Pearce Hall and Engineering Technology buildings. I have found the same filth left on the toilets in the bathrooms several days in a row. Considering the volume of traffic, those bathrooms should be cleaned twice a day, but at least once a day. The engineering building is the most frustrating sight on campus. When it rains heavily multiple buckets are used to catch the leaks inside the building. There are almost no places to plug in your phone or laptop because there aren't enough electrical outlets in the common areas, and of the ones that are present, many aren't working or are broken. The only reprieve is an extension cord that someone plugged into the cooling of the first floor to access from the common area on the second floor. Otherwise, in order to charge your phone or computer, you have to sit on the floor like a child playing with his toys because the only outlets available are in the middle of a hallway and are meant for maintenance for cleaning rather than students. Basically, you will not find working electrical outlets in the same place as seating areas on campus. All of the sectional furniture in engineering should have been replaced 5 or more years ago, it's all stained and broken down or torn to the point that goodwill probably wouldn't accept it. There are no study rooms in the entire building, making it hard to find places to work on group projects without leaving to make room for a class. The printers in this building are a joke. Most of the ones in the classrooms are blinking because they are out of toner, paper, or just gave up on life. When they are working they often aren't accessible to student accounts and I have to go to the front office to print, except that I have to convert whatever I need to print into a pdf because that's all it accepts. I guess it's too much to expect when they don't even know how to install the door stops in the correct place to…eh…stop a door. I will amend this review when I see that my tuition dollars are being used effectively demonstrate basic maintenance and upkeep on campus. Since no one is interested in fixing the problem, hopefully posting here will make this more of a priority for Central Michigan University.christopher chism

I had a great experience attending this School. There is so much diversity here and different ethnic groups. When I was there I lived in Calkins Hall. It was an all girls Hall back then. I learned so much and made so many lifelong friends. It changed me forever as a person. This is a really good School to go to in a small town. There are lots to do. I really question whether anybody that says UM is racist/riot fueled has ever been a student here. I can personally attest to the acceptance and diversity of the school. I've liked most of my professors, and other students have been friendly. I can honestly say that I've learned a lot from my classes and have been presented a lot of opportunities to succeed. If anyone works hard to get here, Ole Miss has many teachers and programs to reward you for your effort. That's what I look for in a college. We get bad press because we are in the South and it makes us an easy target for the media. They like to play off the stereotype that we are some backwards racists. Ask any student here about the "riot" and they'd probably laugh. I would challenge anyone to find a college that doesn't have any students that discriminate. Ole Miss is absolutely amazing! I love it for undergrad I am enjoying it for grad school and the advisors are one of a kind because they are actually invested in helping the students! I will say that as a commuter paying out of state tuition is not that great, if I can drive there daily I should be able to pay in state tuition. Also, it takes a while to get your financial aid, the office is always working and have people on task but if you can’t get into the office for some reason email, phone calls, and zooms as your secondary option takes much longer. As a parent, teacher, and full time student I rely heavily on my financial aid and each time it is just a hassle, I wish the process was smoother.Katrina McCrackin

Oxford is the best place to live in the south. There's always something to do and a great place to raise children. I loved attending Ole Miss and love my Rebels! I can't really complain about anything. We're close enough to travel to a beach, casino, Beale and Bourbon Street, yet we'd rather be sitting in The Grove on a home game weekend. I applied to one of their online Master’s program and got accepted for the 2022 Fall term. Filled out everything, paid the app fee, paid for all of my official transcripts (this would have been my 4th degree), got to the advising appointment only to be told that all of my questions I needed to “look into on my own”….. I work in higher education and these are thing the advisor should have been able to answer. Then she tells me the code to look at classes after the appointment, which was odd, only to find out the two classes I was going to register for were full and she wasn’t even looking at them at the time of the appointment. This is not how advising is supposed to work. Since I have an existing Master’s I wanted to see if any of my credits could transfer in with a maximum of 6 credit hours. If classes wouldn’t transfer due to program alignment, that would have been fine. However, the reasoning was “ Since you did earn the degree with those courses, he doesn't feel that we can also use them to complete the MA degree.” I’m sorry, what??? Writing a review for UNMC is an emotional task for me because they have been there for my mom and family through life, sickness, recovery, health, and even death. In all they've been there for they did right, without judgement or bias, and with care, hope, and support. I live in Kansas, but I know this hospital and all the towers better than some streets near my home. I've interacted with many specialty doctors, nurses, techs, housekeeping staff, ER, security team members, and so many others. We've experienced teams in Kidney Transplant, Wound Care, Cardiovascular, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Derm, Cancer Center, and the Comfort Care Team. I can tell you that these teams are here because they love what they do. If you're considering UNMC as a new place to care for your needs I would do so without hesitation. When my mom moved they were so helpful in her transition to Kansas. Without them we'd be lost. We will miss each of her teams, their knowledge, and their care. It was so hard to leave.Tam E

Very disappointed in care provided. Nursing seems sorely under staffed. Although they frequently have cell phone in hand. Communication between staff (doctors and nursing staff)is lacking. Communication of providers and patients is insufficient. Facility is dirty dusty and run down. And should we talk about HIPPA….nothing to talk about….it doesn't exist there. Hep locks do not get flushed even after several days….negligent much? Showers/bed baths not offered to patient even after 3 days in-house. Are they trying for some nosocomial infections?S B

Today I went to Nebraska medical center and the eye clinic. The people that are very friendly and nice it's clean has three levels. The doctor I seen seem very knowledgeable and was very concerned with my eye condition it was funny when we first pulled up and parked in the first row there was a broom next to the handicap sign made me laugh remind me of handicap which parking. Someone probably had clean snow off their car with the broom and left it there.Karen Beautiful

Extremely racist school. I attended here for 3 years (2009-2012). It was a legacy of my family to attend and graduate from here and I regret it. Not only did I not graduate, I felt unwelcomed as a Native student. I even participated in Native student organizations and spent a lot of time at the cultural center because that was the only place I felt comfortable and accepted. South Dakota is just a racist state all around. I regret listening to my parents. I should have went to the school I was also accepted and had really wanted to go to. These white ppl can keep their precious athletics department! Even the frat parties were racist and sucked! The varying architecture of all the buildings on campus was nice though. Went for one year and never went back. The general required classes are similar at other places, but other places actually care about you. I went to another college before this one, and USD refused to allow me to transfer the credits because they were from out of state. The admissions were nice, but whoever decides what credits transfer couldn't care less about you if you come from out of state. Their biology department needs major help, because they had to change teachers often and even hired one who couldn't speak English. As a 4th year student who will be graduating in Spring 2018, I will be terribly sad to be forced to leave such a terrific school. UGA has provided me with all the opportunities I could ever want. I was looking for a college that would have all the resources I would need in order to go to Optometry School and UGA has exceeded my expectations. The classes here have truly prepared me well for the next 4 years of my life. I am grateful to have gone to such an amazing school. If you’re looking to go into the healthcare field and want to be best prepared for graduate school, UGA is the right way to go. Also, the campus is large and beautiful! After UGA, I will be attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham College of Optometry. So luckily, I won’t be too far from UGA. Good University to enable students pass their USMLE and enable instructors advance to their clinical careers by providing a nice, reading and studying environment while they teach/instruct medical students. Also a good university for recent medical graduates (Doctors) to do a clinical instructor program and teach medical students. There is also an opportunity for them to engage in some post-graduate programs while working. Downsides: Academic Career growth for Doctors (Clinical Instructors) to advance through the ranks is not really diverse and automatic. Hence, best advice is for them to finish their board exams (USMLE/MCC/PLABs) and return to clinical practice. St. George's university is a great institution. The beautiful campus, diversity of students, faculty and hard working staff, make this university one of the best in the region and the world. The campus is well maintained from structure to landscapes. It's beautiful to behold. There are state of the art science labs, lecture halls, dorms and sporting facilities to help you temporarily divert from the stress of study. You can't go wrong with St. George's University. I gave it 4 stars before, because I thought more can be done locally, but after really thinking it through, there is evidence to prove that a lot is being done…It's a place to visit and a good choice if you are thinking of doing medicine, undergrad or even MBA.J Cornwall

Beautiful campus off a not-so scenic main thoroughfare (Baltimore Avenue). I attended for one short semester and it was nice to return and see all the progress and development that has occurred over the years. Numerous new buildings including campus dining and resident halls. The campus tour we attended for my child was long, and they still have covid protocols required for visitors, which is a bit bizarre, but not entirely surprising, since the State of Maryland always thinks it's on the cutting edge of progress. Also surprised how dead it was on homecoming weekend, and the students we did see wandering on campus do not wear their Maryland colors. A bit disappointing.Avalus

From my experience till now UMD is an amazing college with an even amazing staff and infrastructure. Orientation for students are very important and UMD makes sure they have proper ones. The college is really big and is like another city in itself with everything possible available. It will take time for you to know your way around. Classes are equipped with the latest tech. Lecturers know their subject and are very approachable. These few words wouldn't justify everything about the college. Make sure you do your own research. Really nice room. All the lights had mood settings and automation. The scenery was very modern and clean. The bathroom was nice and it had some amazing views very comfortable hotel would definitely visit again. My only recommendation would be maybe having some kind of microwave or something available in the room. So forever grateful I was able to spend 4 amazing years at this school. I am not sure what the other people reviewing recently are talking about, as I felt the community at this campus is very welcoming and friendly. It is a catholic school so they do teach and emphasize catholic studies, however there are many classes that center around other beliefs. I never felt like my beliefs were being stomped on, and I am not catholic. Also, if you are worried about your social life and getting the college experience, don't be! You can definitely still have the college experience and attend St. Kate's. The campus always has activities going on, and there are many schools in the area. First I want to say my advisor was amazing she was super helpful through all this mess. I was supposed to start this month but they said they were missing things so I couldn’t get in until the next semester when they had everything. but we had already sent them everything we had sent to every other college we applied to. They were the only ones we had this problem with. They then today told me that we weren’t gonna be accepted due to the fact that they don’t accept the accredited bodies that my school was accredited by due to varying standards idk what that means. This school is way too expensive for an OTA degree. You can also get the same online degree at less expensive colleges. I do not recommend St. Kate’s to anyone. If I could give this school zero stars, I would. This University is a full on corporation. They do not care about students one bit. All they care about is the money. Most of the teachers really do not want to be there and the staff(bursars, finaid, VA, etc..) are not on the same page. They do not seem to have any information about anything, even though the job they were hired for is to be able to provide that information. I have two separate experiences with this place. First, I applied to use my VA benefits, I think in 2013. The lady gave me an excuse about, since I was Pre-Business I couldn't get it. So I had to withdraw. The next year I applied and I was able to use it with no problem. So I basically had to postpone going to school because someone lied or just didn't care to do the proper research. Second, this year, 2016. I started school for the spring and I decided I was going to go ahead and take out loans to finish school. So, I took out a loan to pay for books and tuition. I was waiting for my check, because we were heading into the 3rd week of school and I needed my books. So I called the Bursars and Finaid office. Bursars told me that they automatically add the loan to the tuition. I said, are books not a part of tuition and the girl said yes, but I think you would have to talk to the bookstore about that. Worng! So, I went and withdrew from my classes again and filled out the proper forms to decline the loan. Then, I went onto my loan account and realized UTC had taken some money out of the loan I declined to pay for the classes I had already withdrew from. School is an embarrassment and now I have to find another school outside of the city to attend.Kc

I graduated from UTC back in 2015. The campus, city, and outdoors is why you come to UTC. They are all beautiful. However, once you look on the inside is when you find the bad. I never felt like i had any good professors who truly cared about their students except for two. The administrative side is a nightmare; constantly being transferred to another person or department, often times talking to someone who is annoyed because you called. The college DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU, only your money and they will do everything they can to exploit it. The best part on the inside of UTC is the maintenance and food court staff. They know students by name and make sure you are doing okay, unlike professors and advisors. Its a great place to be on the outside until you start going to class or trying to solve an administrative problem.Stephen Walker

My friend just warned me and i will help warn everyone else. if you are barley over the white line just a few inches then you will get an automatic ticket. whether a truck and SUV can fit vs a smaller vehicle that is in there. the campus needs to let people go for their first offense if they did not know the situation was going to become a big deal. in spite barley over the white line. it is much worse than city tickets and will not accept appeals for first offense of this situation. be aware of the way you park. parking is not so bad at other universities and this happen to be one to enforce it even though he was barley over the white line.gregory smith

I have been a student of DePaul University – Law College since 2019. Before joining DePaul I was contemplating between DePaul and other Universities, I am so happy I made the right choice to join DePaul. Not only is it a prestigious University with many famous alumni names, but also because it is a University that has made the list of the top best Universities for many years. Depaul has the best facility you can hope to study under, the administration are very helpful and my advisor, is one of the best, always available whenever I needed assistance, guidance or help. If you are a graduate of DePaul, you can be sure that employers will want to add you to their staff. Being part of DePaul, is being part of a large educational family. There are two campuses, the main one is located in Lincoln Park and the other one is located in the Loop, right in the heart of the business hub, if you are attending College of Law or College of Business. There are two huge libraries in the Loop campus, with access to Starbucks, as well as to, Barnes and Nobles. In both Colleges you have cafeterias amd study lounges. There is a Toastmasters club at DePaul and many other groups and clubs to join. Also, DePaul offers a help center, fpr students who may need extra help with certain classes, as well as, a writing center for whenever you need your essays reviewed, with feedback and assistance in improving it before submission. With all of the above and more, I could not possibly list all of the things DePaul os known for, or offers, but I can tell you one thing, if you happen to choose DePaul and become accepted, be sure you are part of the many successful people who will graduate with pride. You can be a full fledged patriotic American, but just because your parents travel and you may have a foreign transcript (from high school/ middle school) you are deemed an international student. To add insult to injury this particular issue entailed the student already having graduated from a neighboring community college. Yet still, they are deemed international. An obvious protocol set in place to guzzle money out of the student. Wasn’t even thrilled about their level of academics to begin with, so not having this school as an option isn’t a loss in the slightest for our family. Hispanic Heritage event went on without a hitch. Free of Problems and controversy. Entertainment was Great Food was Awesome. The Highlight was the introduction of the Main Speakers The New Era Young Lord's. Also some Associates and Friends from there Early Year's. The Bomba group provided good Entertainment and a Festive Atmosphere. In the Middle Sixties you could count the Minorities attending DePaul. The all played on the Basketball team. Harvard is one of the most prestigious universities in the World and every one wishes to visit it once in a life time. I had this chance to go there and walk around this beautiful institute. The good thing is that it is open for all and everyone could go around and visit. I saw many tourists there enjoying walking and taking photos. The good thing which I liked was that seeing people doing Yoga in the open space and in nature. I liked that and participated with them in yoga. It was nice walking around Harvard university . I would recommend either taking a guided tour or to download and follow the self guided tour so you understand the history behind the university. I loved the library and the story behind it. Unfortunately wasn’t able to go inside but would have loved to. I'm a male, late 20's student at USF, and this has been my experience: 1) Rigorous – Having had a decent amount of life experience before coming here, I expected it to be easy. I was wrong. As someone who has always been good at math, the math classes were all challenging and required a lot of time and effort to do well in. The same goes for their science classes. I had attended another, easier university before coming here, and the difference was huge. 2) Political/Religious – Being a catholic university in the middle of a very liberal city, there is a good chance that someone will at some point try to shove religion or liberal politics down your throat, with a higher probability of the latter. As someone who doesn't care for politics, I'd prefer if they were left out of the classroom. 3) Small class sizes – All but one of my classes have been under 30 people, with many being less than 20. There are personal, 1-on-1 classes for music lessons in guitar, piano, vocals, etc. There are ample staff to handle any problem and any and all issues I've had were solved quickly. Compare this to a state school with class sizes in the 100's and there is really no comparison. 4) Expensive – With an annual price tag of about 50k, plus the astronomically high San Francisco cost of living, it is incredibly expensive to go to school here. I came here largely because I had a full-ride scholarship, and would have seriously considered other options if I didn't. 5) Amenities – There are several large libraries, excellent quiet study areas, private music rooms with instruments, and the campus itself is quite beautiful. With the tuition comes a free public transit card and gym access, at a very nice gym. 6) Overall quality – The quality of the school overall is very high. I can't say how it compares to the likes of top schools like Stanford, but many of USF's professors have come from those big name schools. The combination of talented, intelligent professors and personal 1-on-1 attention make it a great place to learn and study.Tyler D

I transferred out of the University of San Francisco real quick. The school is expensive, the education is ok but the material is too easy, and the social life is garbage unless you're undoubtedly liberal. The professors were very nice and helpful, but anyone from the administration building is out to get you, ultimately this place is just a big money pit. Beautiful campus in the heart of the city but otherwise, a school filled with professors that don’t really care, poor accommodations for students with disabilities, extremely expensive, campus police focuses more on giving you parking tickets and people’s conduct rather than ensuring vehicles are not broken into. I have to admit, after being accepted to the Master's program early in 2014 I was nervous attending graduate school. I was unsure of what type of situations I would encounter, and what type of curriculum I would face. After the first day of orientation, I knew that the University of Bridgeport was the best choice for me. The staff and professors in my department are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The classes I have taken have not only improved educational leadership qualities, but have also helped improve my mathematical prowess. Although the classes may seem difficult at time, my professors demonstrated an excellent balance in challenging students while holding their interest. I have created many long lasting friendships as well with the students in my program. In concurrence with our education progress, we find ourselves continuously engaging in a sort of fellowship that I have not experienced elsewhere. In essence, the phrase "work hard, play harder" seems fitting. We have fun in class, and we get to work when we need to. I find that my professors are equally as entertained as my fellow students, helping to aid in the maintenance of the positive climate in the classrooms. If anyone reading this is nervous or unsure of their decision to attend the University of Bridgeport, as someone who previously felt the same way I offer the following advice: don't be. This is a phenomenal University with amazing programs and a delightful professional staff. They will help guide you to success by any means necessary. If you put the work in, keep a positive attitude, and remember to have fun, I promise you that the University of Bridgeport won't let you down.Philip Abraham

I am currently a freshman at UB almost finishing my first semester, I am majoring in the health sciences and hopefully 4 years from now I will be doing my masters in Chiropractic. I came to America all the way from Indonesia, I studied at an international school so I have met people from many different countries and cultures, UB made me feel like I never left that sense of living in an international environment because of all the diverse cultures that you find here. Professors, Students and Staff are very open and very supportive if you need any help and the fact that UB is a very small school makes it a better sense of community among students. Classes are good and challenging, resources are provided if in the need of help just like tutoring or counseling. I had the chance to make many close friends in just a few months from different backgrounds, friends that have become a second family to me. Although the distance from my family is too long I feel like I've found a new place that I can call home for the next 7 years. I do not regret my choice.Leonardo Castiglioni

As a current undergraduate student studying International Political Economy and Diplomacy (IPED), I've had nothing short of a wonderful experience at UB. I can only speak for my major, but I love my program. Most of my classes are engaging, and my teachers are always available to talk and answer questions outside of class which is much appreciated. The thing that I love most about UB is the diversity. Especially studying in a internationally focused major, there's a huge difference in talking about events throughout the world, and actually hearing a first person perspective from someone who is from that country. My best friend is from Syria! Of course there's a few things I would change, but overall I am really happy with my experience so far.Virginia Orman

I obtained one of my degrees here, it used to be a good place to get an education, but it has become more liberal and left wing. At one time, the tuition for a full-time evening student was less than that for daytime, which made sense since there was no access to many of the daytime nine-to-five services. That benefit has been eliminated, so I'll go elsewhere for my next degree.fir las

We were doing art classes here. And the teacher decided to put everyones projects on the sidewalk. Then some kid came along and started stomping on them like he was jumping in snow. STOMP STOMP STOMP. So, the lesson is dont put students artwork on a sidewalk, and dont let kids inZ Blade

I was at graduation for Freeport high school the people that work there are great …..I don't care for the Hofstra school because of the student that for there especially the ladies lacrosse team that live in my town in Uniondale they make the block look like trash….Irene Salgado

Loved my college experience at UB. Quality academics, quality student life. There is great diversity which will help you with life after college. Food is good, not great, but what do you expect when you are cooking for the masses. Wish people cared more about the athletics. They have made north campus and the apartments surrounding it nice. The alumni base from what I can tell is Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, NYC, Chicago and DC. I also love the city of Buffalo. Downtown offers a lot to do for a mid size city.Joe Segrue

This place is like a palace. Massive, I visit it there on a trip. It took me about 3 hours just to walk around the whole school. Also visit the inside as a visitor. Its a amazing university that offers many course. Lot of friendly people. Adviser will always help student even though their is a lot of student. Amazing Lab as well. Spent few of best times of my life there doing my undergrad and masters (1991-1995). Could never wish better finance school, great summer times with fruit picking seasons and Niagara Falls is only like 1 hr away.
