20 Best Masters Programs In Mission Viejo, CA (2022 Updated)

This school only employed extremely right wing, openly racist, often under-qualified staff when I was attending from 2003 until my graduation in 2006. The accreditation from this school was not recognized by any State schools or other colleges, so I had to remain at this bigoted institution unless I wanted to spend the time and money to start my education from scratch elsewhere. A very nice campus in the OC. I went on a tour for counselors here about a year ago. This is a nice place if you want small classes and a nice living enviroment. Your professors really get to know you and you get plenty of connections before you graduate. Also, plenty of study abroad opportunities. IVC is just down the street and it’s cheaper. School like this bankrupt all the time. And they make fake promises like job placement.G

The University campus is beautiful and full of fresh air and bright sunshine. The facility management and security systems are awesome. Everybody is so kind and helpful here that it stands tall on its claim of creating value through inclusiveness and by nurturing fundamental human qualities of courage, compassion and wisdom. The scenery of Soka is amazing in the early mornings and at sunset. The place is flourished with all sorts of plants. The food is amazing and the Dorms are high ceilings and spacious. I love coming here every summer for music programs, the campus is very homey and super welcoming. I highly recommend furthering your education elsewhere. I was told INCORRECT information by those who likely get paid handsomely to tell their students CORRECT information. I am 1 1/2 years into their Masters program for MFT with 8 classes left. I withdrew from a class during their 2nd Spring AFTER inquiring from both my advisor AND the one stop coordinator Alexis. I was informed by both that I would be fine withdrawing (because I took 2 classes in Spring 1), I would maintain my FA eligibility, all would be good… fast forward 2 months, a slew of emails (initiated by mostly myself) because of multiple balance changes on my account, I am now in arrears for $900 which is expected to be paid before I can enroll in any more classes. I'm disgusted at the way they have handled this and would NEVER recommend Brandman to anyone. This comes on the heels of me having to track down a Professor because of a discrepancy on my grade (my first C). It took this Professor 6 weeks to respond to me, although I really am not surprised considering he felt it necessary to plan a personal vacation our 2nd week of an 8 week class and then called in sick the 3rd class. I mean, its not like the students aren't paying upwards of $2000 for each class, right?! I have filed a complaint with the Dept of Education and will continue to file complaints with whoever I can, because this place should not be allowed to be running with such incompetent individuals handling something as important as a person's education.Kelley C

VETERAN STUDENTS.I have been attending UmassGlobal since it was Brandman. They have dealt with the transition smoothly and ensured my accommodations for my GI Bills were met to receive full BAH. My one stop specialist Lindsey Elsensohn and campus director Melissa Brunson helped me through rough patches when the VA wouldn’t process payment due to online/name change. This school has marketed their military services but never did I expect a freaking campus director to reach out to a student to make sure I was ok. This is the only educational institution where I attended where the staff makes the first move and reaches out to their veteran students rather than wait for something to go wrong and have their students reach out to them. I can’t speak on behalf of everyone as it is not my nor anyone’s place to do so but I will say that UmassGlobal has very military friendly staff members and will go above and beyond to make sure us Vets get full use of the GI bill we earned. I began my studies for my masters during the pandemic and chose brandman / UMass global because our kids highschool used them to allow students to earn both highschool and college credits. However , since I have attended and am almost done, financial aid support greatly lacks , many teachers should not be teaching, and advisors not really helping but referring you to other advisors. Everyone gives you vague answers when you do get a response and there is a great lack of communication among departments. Had someone given me a heads-up I would have waited a little longer and gone to one of the other schools that accepted me, brandman just had a faster start time. I have talked to other grads and they all feel the same as I do. So please save yourself the headache and learn from us , do your homework ask questions and make sure you feel comfortable before attending here, also once you start your credits are not transferable if you decide to switch schools. This school needs alot of work.Dan

Very responsive in emails when needing to reschedule or changing coaches. A variety of coaches that are really personable, knowledgeable and patient (especially with younger kids), but my son’s favorite is Coach Trent. They are very flexible with our schedule – in fact even when we moved across the country I couldn’t find a good local coding school and requested to come back to this one and they could still fit me in with our favorite coach. Amazing stuff. My daughter is 5 years old and have been attending for few months. This is one on one lesson. Teachers know how to work with different ages. My 8 year old is really enjoying his lessons with the Coder School. His thoughts and opinions are respected and heard throughout the lessons. My son struggled for a long time in the traditional classroom setting. He has an illness that makes it difficult for him to follow a traditional schedule, and ADHD and anxiety that made it difficult for him to focus even when he was able to attend as scheduled. After being placed in a special ed program to make it easier for him to attend, he was barely passing. He felt like a failure and had all but given up. He had no motivation. Nothing seemed to help. Since starting at Fusion just over a month ago, he has completely changed his attitude about school. His love of learning has been reignited by his "great" teachers who make him feel comfortable and capable. He still struggles with illness, but he knows the teachers will work with him to make sure he learns what he needs to know. He won't be left behind, to fail. This school has turned into a dump-truck. I returned back after a few years hiatus in my education. Both classes used the McGraw Hill Connect book and online learning system. Such a huge failure for teachers and the education system as a whole. The algorithms are off and the system rarely addresses test/quiz materials. The teachers at the school are disengaged and offer little to enhance the cheap program they forced us to purchase. I can’t believe this is even a college accredited program anymore. The BEST satellite school EVER! This is a very good school to start your first two years then transfer to a university or school that specializes in your needs. My favorite teacher is Professor Farnsworth! He is horticulture 101 and more when I was there a few years ago. He never questioned my extra needs to record audio because of my disability and NEVER judged me. Super nice Professor yest still very professional. I am currently enrolled at HIU and I'm planning on transferring. I'm writing this review because I just saw all the one-sided reviews that you will probably read, and I thought of the 18 year old kid thinking about coming here based on those lies. First, the size of Hope is great in the classroom; I know my professors and they know me, however, I dislike seeing the same 50 people everyday. I also dislike being surrounded by unintelligent people; I thought I was in college, not middle school. It seems like Hope will enroll anyone who can pay the tuition, no matter what their GPA is. I'm an outgoing person and do many things, but there's nothing to do in Fullerton. It is extremely boring and I find myself going home on weekends instead of staying on campus. As a student it is mandatory to live on campus, in the dorms, all 5 years. And yes, it usually takes 5 years to graduate because of all the Bible classes. I'm an athlete here and I love my coach, and love my team. They're the only reason I came back for a second year. Hope is too expensive for what I'm getting out of my college experience, and I would not recommend it to any of my friends.Wyatt Colloty

I'm writing this review for the staff member, Kandis Hutton. I worked with her for years. I directly asked as a 12 yr old, if someone were har ming me, would you have to report it? No follow up, or reports. I did family therapy. She took my parent's side, lecturing me about what I needed to change while not addressing my parents behavior. The way she confronted my self hram was in excusable. She force fully demanded that I tell her why. When I didn't, she grew angry. It's her job to make me feel comfortable telling her things. Self hram is an illness and shouldn't be treated as a behavioral problem that can be fixed with lecturing and judge ment. She also brings her religion into therapy too much. I was not religious, this was not up for debate, and she should have respected that. Between always taking the side of the parents (who were paying her), letting my mother talk over me during family therapy and thus silence my voice, and her forceful judge mental approach towards my self hram (which deserved compassion), I would not recommend her for adolescents.Aliya Katz

As parents concerned about the level of Christ-centeredness and value for our investment in our daughter's education, we looked at many private Christian colleges before deciding on Hope. We had experiences at Hope that were unlike any other college campus; everyone we met at Hope pointed to the mission of the school in following Christ's principles, not the marketing of the school. The thing that clinched it was when one of the Hope staff heard that our family member wasn't feeling well; he stopped in his tracks, dropped what he was doing, and took the time to stand and pray with us carefully and deeply for God's healing. We could see through His people at Hope that Christ was definitely in this place, a place that we felt was the perfect, safe, Godly, secure place of college growth and purpose for our daughter. As a candidate already met one or two some wonderful professors whom I wish to touch base with if I get in. Campus is lovely. This review is specific to the High School Theatre. We have seen a few shows here and they have a very nice facility with great lighting and sound. The only negative is that the parking lot is a bit small so do not be surprised if you need to walk a bit when coming here for a sporting event or other large gathering.C.J. Land

For Dive Team: They have two websites which is confusing-They should delete one website so it doesn't show up on Google. No pricing online. Confusing to sign up and tryout. Practice and meet times on website are often conflicting with emails sent to parents. Parents can't go on deck to talk to coaches and coaches don't come to talk to parents after practice, so if you need to talk to a coach, you have to email them to tell them you want to talk to them and then you got to wait for them to respond for five days. For a kids dive meet you have to pay $5 just to see your own kid dive (this isn't an olympic dive meet). Not to mention there is only concrete ground seating once you get in for the dive meet. For dive meets, they have older kids go before younger kids who need to go to sleep. Coach isn't real good about making sure the young kids got in line for their dive at the dive meet. Some of the coaches have a conceded attitude, some coaches are nice. Classes often canceled for dive meets and holidays but we pay full price for month. Have to also do fundraising of $1000 per year and volunteer 50 hours per year, plus get asked about another 12 times throughout the year for more money. Make financials public on website. Definitely a rich man/woman's sport. Last gold medal winner 1984.Recall California

I have an Age-Group Swimmer who transferred from another team when she was 7 years old. It took a few months to correct the bad habits the were learned prior to joining the Nadadores. The difference in her swimming was amazing. Initially the coach wanted to put her in a group that we didn't agree with so we spoke up and they worked with us to place her appropriately. Communicating with the staff is key. We are very happy here as a family. Swimming is a tough sport and many parents think that a great swimmer can be made overnight. The reality is that some kids are naturally talented and others might have to work harder. Let the coaches do their job and always keep an appropriate and open line of communication with the coaches. The Nadadores want their swimmers to love the sport for life and understand that not every kid has the same talent and skill in the water. If you are a parent of an age-group swimmer, look at a few teams before making a choice. My husband truly enjoys the Masters Swim Team as well… Lastly, the pool water is perfect. Many facilities use the wrong chemicals in the water and really don't understand how toxic they make the water. My daughter has very sensitive skin and she can't swim in most community pool facilities without experiencing complications.Deborah Walck

I’m a nadadore myself and I have been for almost 5 years now. I’m a HUGE fan of the program, not only do they have amazing coaches and staff but all of the kids are friendly and nice and it’s just a nice big family. The coaching is the best you will ever receive. They make swimming fun and give you a purpose. The coaches make everyone feel special and they know what they are doing. The kids all love the sport. Every group has a great coach and every coach takes pride in their swimmers. They have extra team bonding activities, also. If you are deciding between nadadores or nova, nadadores is the BEST choice by far! Nadadores is better than aquazot too.The One

An excellent evangelical Church. I attend when visiting the area because my children and grandchildren are there, but I would likely choose it in any case, if we lived nearby because of the traditional service with magnificent music and solid Biblical preaching. The pipe organ is excellent, the main musicians truly gifted, the choir is fine, and because there are so few churches today with choirs it's nice to see one continuing that tradition. It's one of the few churches remaining today where you want to stay after the benediction to hear the postlude. The pastors are warm and approachable. They have been remarkably supportive of my children and their family during difficult times. For those preferring a contemporary-style, there is a contemporary worship service and the young pastor leading this service is personally known to me and also excellent.Jim Mannoia

My daughter attends Silverado H.S.and went from failing grades at El Toro High School, where they treated her as if she was invisible to a 3.5-4.0 GPA at Silverado where they actually value her as a student. The ET teachers would only focus on who is getting laid off, Football, and the usual politics and did not care about my daughters failing grade. But Silverado is on top of their education and sincerely care about the students and if they succeed or not. More schools should be modeled this way as it is a positive learning experience. ET can learn a lot from the teachers and staff at Silverado. Yes, Silverado is a continuation school and the majority of people think it doesn't count in regards to schooling, credits and that you'll never have a good career because of it. But that is FAR from the truth. I went to continuation school growing up and I now work in the Nuclear industry as a QAM. I'm making more than most people with a degree! This school is absolutely terrible. I found myself not benefiting from any of the classes at all. They used online websites like Edgenuity and I know countless of students who would just cheat off Brainly and Quizlet for many of the assignments. You don’t learn anything at all. On top of that, none of the teachers would get back to any of my emails, and when they do, it’d be a couple days later and I’ve already figured out the issue or problem I was having. Not even my counselor got back to my emails about my cries for help. The experience there is awful and wouldn’t waste my time with this school.
