20 Best Dental Hygiene Programs In Springfield, MA (2022 Updated)

I took the CNA ‘Plus’ programme there back in October 2021. For $2395 we never got a clinical! And the facilities and equipment provided were unbelievable! One mannequin with its leg falling out and not even a proper night gown to keep it from being exposed! Sheets were dirty! Equipment faulty, and now we are STILL waiting to take our state licensure exams! If you’re taking the CNA programme, do not take the “plus part” it is a waste of money and time. State Street U is amazing. I attended 22 years ago and stopped by for the first time since then and I was amazed to find, updated buildings, a beautiful store, and a whole new feel. The professors and professionals were mostly great when I was there and though I don't attend, I had a chance to talk to administrators and they are still amazing. It is a fantastic education at a great price. If you are looking for a great community college, look no further than STCC. Great school with the absolute best teachers. Mr. Crowley, my English teacher, was really amazing and reignited my love for writing. I do not recommend this school to anyone. There was a lot of grade school style homework and a broad spectrum of effort put in by my professors. Most of my homework was distributed digitally by the respective text book's website — NOT the professor. This created a huge disconnect when discussing homework issues in class. It was frustrating knowing my professors were not curating our homework, rather, it was being outsourced by a subsidized textbook. Their job is to educate, but remember they are there to make a profit. I could not afford my bill so they sold my debt to a collection agency.J s

My first college experience was here and it wasn't a particularly good one. The building is nice with a very comfortable atmosphere, though the parking lot is a nightmare. There is not WiFi through the entire building, which is infuriating for a student with an on campus class that is also entirely on the internet. I feel like for the moment, the school is having a bad time transitioning to technology. Staff is ridiculously friendly and helpful, unexpected for a place in Gardner.Vertigo

Great school. but I think if we're paying $300.00 for a book and paying $8.00 on top of that for shipping a signature should be required from UPS and some type of insurance on it. So cases like your book being stolen off your front steps don't happen. Then actually getting in contact with someone to help replace it is even worse. Bookstore pretty much said I'm on my own. Most of the bad reviews are coming from people who had ONE bad experience at like the book store or whatever or i gEt tHiEr aDs oN hUlu, though the veteran who shared his story probably has a decent case to make. Anyway I got a business degree from this college and if you actually try you can do really really well here, with great professors and programs like the honors program which gives high level learning at bottom dollar, and wonderful faculty like the folks at PTK, disability services, or the Fuller Center. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to work on regarding graduation rates, the food, no one card system, etc but I couldn't give this place anything less than 5 stars because of all of the wonderful people who give 110% here, especially in those departments I mentioned. If you live in Worcester don't spend 30k a year to go to Assumption, you'll save so much money to come here. Seek opportunity, study for your tests, respect your professors and faculty, and most importantly, do your damn homework; I guarantee you'll be a success at this place if you do all of these things.Clark Kent

The qcc "police" are some of the most unqualified and unempathetic people in the area. There is no doubt they have no training, no expertise in law and zero idea of what they are doing. Maybe they should take some courses while they work their jobs at qcc in criminal justice. Maybe they can get a handle on their jobs. This is an awesome school and I am so disappointed that one teacher ruined it all for me. DO NOT take Professor Jane Joyce accounting classes or any classes from her. She is awful and not a good teacher in general. You will waist your money, time, and probably want to rip your hair out when she talks. I do not know if I have ever left a review but feel like I need to since reviews may be incredibly important to others when it comes to seeing a new dentist or going back to a dentist after many years of neglect similar to myself. I had needed a root canal pronto and knew this was going to open pandoras box on my teeth and the pickle I may have put myself in from not going to a dentist regularly in quite some time (years…) I had originally made an appointment at a different office that had great reviews from people with similar concerns as me but they could not get me in for over a week and eventually the pain got too intense for me to wait. I called Pioneer Valley on a whim and they were able to take me the next day (THANK YOU) I ended up seeing Dr Lucido and he could not have made me feel more comfortable and did not make me feel embarrassed or afraid at all! I still have more visits ahead of me but I am as comfortable as one can be when it comes to dental work thanks to Dr. Lucido, the hygenists who have had to deal with my anxious antics and the receptionists who acted as my therapist when I first called in to make my appointment. Ive been having some dental implants done, and I'm really glad that I found Dr. Ziemba and Pioneer Valley Dental Arts. While Dr. Ziemba doesn't do the implant surgery, he does make my permanent implant crowns, and he is a true artist at matching color and all the other detailing necessary for long-term comfort. It's all easy for me, because he communicates directly with the implant surgeons. In addition to finishing my implants, Dr. Ziemba has done some crowns and veneers for me, which really brightened my smile! I have a lot of ongoing work ahead, and I feel secure that it will be done promptly and with utmost care. As if that weren't enough, Dr. Ziemba's practice has adopted some of the latest innovations in dentistry, from ultrasound cleaning to flouride varnish (I got varnished today! 😁) If it seems like I'm a devoted patient and fan, all I have to say is: that's the effect that talent coupled with excellent, caring, highly personal service has on me. I’ve been a patient at Baystate Dental for years now and a patient of Dr Kapoor’s for well over a year. I originally began my journey to correct a large open bite I’ve had my entire life and did not want to use traditional braces or go through painful oral surgery. Dr. Kapoor was able to design the perfect Invisalign solution free of both pain and unpleasant oral appliances, which I’ve always refused to wear. The office staff are welcoming and caring.I used to be anxious when visiting a dentist. I saw Dr. Kapoor on my last visit in November. He was quite compassionate about a molar I had to have repaired. I saw him today and he built up the molar and will be putting on a crown at the end of September. He is gentle and took his time and made me comfortable and told me how much time was left once in awhile. I will not let another dentist touch my teeth. He is incredibly talented. Like most people I have had bad experiences at the dentist. But I can honestly say that for the first time in my life I had a pleasant experience here. My dental assistant Zuleyka was phenomenal and listened to me ramble and helped me feel more at ease. They did an amazing job on my filling which you would never guess at all I had a filling done looking at it. As someone who has ample anxiety going to the dentist I recommend them entirely. Very pleasant visit! The whole staff makes you feel comfortable. No major problems for me so just xrays and cleaning. Everything went well! 10/04/2022I just went in for my 2nd cleaning appointment due to the fact I haven't seen a Dentist in a number of years. The treatment by the staff was the same as the first. The staff here truly makes you feel comfortable from the 1st contact on. They do judge you for having poor hygiene or lack of going to the Dentist previously. Very unprofessional. Girls at the front desk are rude, I completely understand if you are busy, but no need to be rude to customers that are annoyed and in pain for tooth aches, you guys should all be retrained and how to treat customers. They set me up for a root canal 4 months later, on top of me letting them know that it started becoming very sensitive. 1 month later an abscess started growing in my gum, I called for weeks with no phone calls returned, they have automated txt messageing that doesn't even respond back to you. And if you call, they put you on hold and never get back to your call. You guys are a mess. Get it together.Joshua

Dr. Needed a letter from my other Dr. Stating that it was ok for me to take pain medication while on my current medication. Had them fax over this documentation several times before having the dentist confirm that they got it. Came in to have the tooth pulled and the Dr again said he could not give pain meds because the letter didn't specify narcotics. He told me he needed a different letter specifying narcotics. Had them send this letter. That was still now not good enough for him and gave me a separate sheet for them to fill out. He's got me running in circles so I'm going somewhere else. I absolutely love Children and Family dentistry on Cooley. My children have been going there for years and the treatment there is wonderful! Today my son had a visit and got the pleasure of Lacresia who is always welcoming and kind to my children and myself! She was absolutely amazing with my son! She made him comfortable and happy! If I could give more than five stars, I would! I have been a patient at this practice for over 15 years. Back in the day, Dr Archambault and Dr Hood were incredible and everyone who worked with them were fantastic as well. I was there when Dr Cole took over upon their retirements and he was amazing as well. Unfortunately, my dental insurance changed and I needed to seek out other practices to be covered. I visited quite a few and just never had the same feeling of comfort, honesty and wisdom. I recently returned even though my insurance doesn't cover. It is so worth it to me to have a sense of trust with a dental provider. Dr Cole certainly is "carrying on the baton" handed along from Dr Gary Archambault, et al, with his attention and care to his patients. Everyone in the office is pleasant and welcoming. I actually have anxiety over going to a dentist, but upon my return I actually sat in the chair and found myself saying, "I am so happy to be here"! Prior to visiting Elm Family Dentistry, I was terrified of attending the dentist — so much, in fact, that I had managed only 2-3 visits over the course of the previous 10-12 years. When tooth discomfort inevitably forced my hand, I was still reluctant. Not just because of any potential bad news, but also due to the fear of how the news would be delivered. Would I be judged? Reprimanded? Made to feel overwhelmed? THE LONGEST & MOST USELESS APPOINTMENT IN MY LIFE & that’s saying something! TWO HOURS FOR NOTHING! Had a great initial experience & Dr Dores said he could extract my remaining 5 front teeth, he fit me for a mold for a temp denture & took the entire payment for the temp denture in September. Said they could do the “whole process at his office”. Then something changed… Today, a month later, I went in for my consultation for my bottom teeth. When they gave me the estimate for all of the work (top & bottom) I asked how much it would be to have my front teeth extracted and the lady left the room to ask. When the person went to ask him about the extractions he said he would rather me have them done somewhere else. I told him I couldn’t have them done at the other surgeons office and he said he wouldn’t do them.Mind you I was in that chair for two hours. Dores was late. My appt was at 4pm & he walked in at 4:38pm. I only saw Dr. Dores for about 10-15 minutes & it was not pleasant. He spoke to me like I was a dentist that knew what he was talking about. I would never go back to this place I took my deposit back and drove myself home in tears. They knew I had dental PTSD and still behaved in this manner. I’m sick to my stomach with disgust! Really amazing dental office. They are accommodating and super nice. This is the most welcoming dental office I've been to. They take my insurance and they got me in for a teeth cleaning when my previous dentist wasn't even booking at all. Alina is a thorough hygienist. Cindy is super professional and Emonee is wonderful and personable. Dr. Dores is addressing issues my prior dentist ignored. I'm bringing my kids here the moment they turn 18. Their technology is leaps and bounds ahead of other offices. And they take MassHealth! I can't believe my luck 🙂 . I called this office with a dental issue and they scheduled me immediately the next day. I had the procedure and was on my way home. Lina & Cindy at the front desk were very professional and nice and Jillian the assistant was very understanding and gentle. I wouldn’t have this procedure done anywhere else. I’m not a big fan of dental appointments but Dr. Dores made me feel so at ease and comfortable. I was even further impressed when Dr. Dores called me on the weekend to follow up to see how i was doing. He truly cares about his patients. I would highly recommend this place to others. This is a rare gem of a community college. The caliber of the scholarship is equal to any university level course. The campus is accessible for the most part and if it is not yet renovated the staff of the disability office will help. I did not find any of the pitying behavior that is so hard for any person with a disability to take and any person for that matter who is an adult. I recommend this school. If you are a senior citizen there are tuition waivers and if you are a veteran there are plenty of benefits available as well. They have workforce development courses. Overall a really good school. Just wish they had more environmental law and conservation courses to assist me as a member of a local conservation campaign.E M La

This was a very nice college to enroll in. I was enrolled in a 2 yr program and I loved it there. Although the kitchen doesnt havent the nicest food. I would consider either bringing your own lunch or going out for lunch. Because the food is kinda gross looking. Also if you look in the other comments below don't get discouraged. The comment about the financial aid guy, is bad. But the person in financial aid Kiara she is reeeeally sweet. Also the other comment at the bottom about the wifi is because you have to be a student to get the wifi. The school gives you a student number and password for the wifi. One spring day i accompanied my daughter. She had tests, so I decided to walk the grounds. Camera in hand. I thought I was just walking around another campus. Well that was a mistaken claim. I’m currently a student here. DO NOT APPLY TO REGIS! The financial aid department is never helpful. They tell us one thing, only for us to find out it was completely wrong. They told me to take out extra money then what was needed. This totally screwed me up. The food is terrible and we have cockroach problems. I studied abroad and they had no room placement for me when I returned. They never transferred my credits over until I was stern. The staff act like children until they’re called out by students, never completing things until we notice and ask them to do so. Total over reaction to Covid. Your a school in the suburbs. You should have given students a choice to attend in person or online TO BEGIN WITH!!!. This decision will likely ruin you financially. Such a disappointment. What a wonderful school. So curious who made such a ridiculous decision. I hope this doesn’t cause the school to go bankrupt. And I hope others don’t transfer out (but likely will .. as will we) because of such a silly decision. Of course health comes first. But your a small college. You could have used a LITTLE creativity. This place is a joke. I took intro to Sustainable and Green Energy Technologies and we had barely any homework the whole semester, then at the end he gives us 2 projects both 10 pages long. We learned nothing the whole semester so how are we supposed to make a project on solar panels. It was 50% of our grade but too late to drop the class. Some of the staff are good but some just don't answer emails and you're guessing the whole time about your grade.miley piedi

I took an EMT program a little while ago here and it was lousy. The textbook that my professor shoved down my throat was a waste of money cause everything was online but at least the college got their 500 bucks for that. And then there was the terrible program itself. Professor was whatever, the content was disorganized but hey… at least the college got a solid 2,000 bucks off of it. I have been to a couple of dentist in the Pioneer Valley. I have been coming to Taylor Street Dental for two to three months. I like how everyone is friendly, helpful, and show dedication to their jobs here in which show me a well organized business. They take the time to explain the procedure and while completing the procedure they make sure your comfort is priority. I have been to other dentistry’s where my comfort wasn’t even really third on the list of importance. I will be staying here because of the level of professionalism, enthusiasm, and treatment plan they outlined for me and my oral care.I also like that they have state-of-the-art equipment, and I know that may mean that I pay more but the trade off is well worth it. If you are tired of going to your dentist and walking out feeling like it’s just not up to par, give Taylor Street Dental a chance, DDS. This review is years overdue. In the past I’ve always felt a certain amount of anxiety when visiting the dentist. I do not feel that here. The office itself has been tastefully renovated with a mix of exposed brick and wood. When I walk in, I’m greeted by name, and with a smile from the office staff. Before I go into my appointment, I already feel relaxed and comfortable. Angie, my hygienist, is incredible. During my cleanings, she informs and educates. I have seen several dentists for various procedures. While I can’t name them all, they and their assistants are first class. Making sure that their patients are comfortable seems to be a priority. While I have not personally seen Dr. Peck, his staff are a positive reflection of him. I wish I found Taylor Street Dental sooner…and I wish I could give them more than 5 stars.Michael McFarlin

I had an issue with scheduling and the practice of charging patients to schedule appointments. I was upset about being charged and will be looking for another dentist, but I was very happy with Dr. Peck personally calling me and apologizing for my experience and I felt he was sincere. He refunded my deposit and was very receptive to my concerns. If you don't mind putting up money to schedule your appointment then I would recommend Taylor St. However I spend enough on my insurance and don't want to spend any more than I need to for my dental and health care. IF IT WAS POSSIBLE I WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IN THIS REVIEW AFTER WHAT HAPPENED THIS MORNING! It usually takes a lot for me to ever get mad or come out of character, but this morning I came close to snatching security's face for disrespecting me as well as a nurse receptionist. I walked out crying and screaming not able to get my tooth fixed. I had to reschedule at the Sumner Avenue location instead. IM SO TIRED of men thinkin its ok to disrespect me and then when I flip out, I'm crazy! No! Not this time! Caring Health Center, Inc. just lost a patient. They always ask you for a survey on what they could do better. They even ask you what can they do better when you file a complaint and each time you tell them, they don't improve at ALL! It gets even more worse then the last! After my teeth is fixed, I'm removing all of my records and finding a whole new doctor. Its not fair to my primary care physician because I know he is a great doctor and I love him and he is located at the Boston Road location, but as much as I do love my primary, my sanity and respect is worth so much more! I wish Brian Beauvais would leave Caring Health Center and open up his own practice because he is too good for this sorry excuse of a medical place. I want no parts of their brand period based on the way they are nonchalant and disrespectful to patients. ESPECIALLY THE SECUIRTY GUARD AT THE MAIN STREET LOCATION! I walked in on Saturday and was directed to the upstairs area to be seen… the place was as empty as empty can be. (Unless there is another entrance or something I'm unaware of.) I waited for roughly 20 minutes till the person who told me to go upstairs approached me and said it'll be at least a 2 hour wait… I left. Also security guard seemed like he didn't want to be bothered. My first time having to come here so asking questions felt like an unwelcomed nuisance… being pleasant is not difficult… can be the difference between people returning or not. The USCIS listed Caring Health Centre as one of the centres to do a medical examination. I called the centre this morning (June 21) at 9:30 am to seek an appointment and ended up speaking with a front office personnel who bemoaned me for not knowing how things work at the centre. When I informed her that the doctor I was trying to get hold of is listed on the US official website, she started losing her patience and in a rash manner hung up on me. I expected a certain level of civility from a staff working at a health care centre who goes by the adjective "caring."Dhardon Sharling

I wanted to give this place an updated review. I began coming here in 2015 when I first moved to western mass, and I have to say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. They’ve always taken care of me, made sure I’m comfortable, and have never had ANY issues with any aftermath of procedures. Everyone is SO NICE! I called them yesterday once I found a huge hole in my bottom tooth and they got me in the next day for a later appointment and did a root canal right away. No pain, they kept checking on me to make sure I didn’t need a break or that I wasn’t in pain. They’re so communicative about insurances/payments needed, breaking it down in terms you can understand. I ended up sending my husband there after he had another dentist in Westfield completely screw his tooth up, so the point where his whole face was swollen and his tooth basically exploded. They fixed him right up with no pain and never any other complications. I truly love this place and if someone is trying to find a new dentist and is reading this, 100000% go here!!!Caitlin Wheeler

I chose this dental office after 7 years of not going to a dentist and I was very happy with the level of service and skill the staff performed with. The administrative assistants at the front desk were very helpful and knowledgeable, The dental hygienists are skilled and personable, and the dentists themselves are highly skilled professionals that are calm and very concerned for their patients well-being. Very happy with the work of Dr. Durrani. The crownes look natural and no pain. Dr. Durani is gentle, cares, honest and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend him. Adding that with him is a good team that knows well this industry and warming and caring as well. They have my trust.Jaky A.
