Review Summary
I have had the misfortune of hiring now 9 girls from UT on a rotating schedule( when they have availability). I know a total of 12 girls that have either recently graduated, are in nursing programs, or 2 that are currently in masters programs, the 9 that worked/Ing for me are either recent grads, in their masters program, or a rising senior… So… now of these girls, even though they are nice have any queslificariona to work.. 6 out 9 which 3 of those 6 are or were in honors programs. Have no clue what they are going to do after school. Most complained about the treatment and the overall vibe of the campus. The 4 out of 12 girls that I know are graduated and with a Bachelors degree in Nursing or teaching can’t even find a job and are working in low level paying jobs… practically a step up from min. Wage. This university does not produce graduates that have a impact on the world. The quality of person who is going here 8 out of 10 is not the person you want working for you… This is a school for people who are good test takers but not ready or prepared to be in the real world at all… Go to bigger school that’s not private – private universities answer to know one which is not so good.. especially when it comes to the quality of graduates they are producing and putting out into the world. Which seems subpar at best. Save yourself the hassle, go to a public university. Like USF is bigger, better diversity, better teachers, bigger endowment, better statics with the type of person they produce back into the working world. Location is nice because it’s downtown but just remember not everything that glitters is gold…adoliop
Search history- During its operating period from 1891 to 1930, the hotel housed thousands of guests, including hundreds of celebrities. When the Spanish–American War broke out, Plant convinced the United States military to use his hotel as a base of operations. Generals and high-ranking officers stayed in its rooms to plan invasion strategies, while enlisted men encamped on the hotel's acreage. Colonel Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders also were at the hotel during this time. Roosevelt retained a suite, and during the day led his men in battle exercises on the property. The Tampa Bay Hotel closed in 1930 as the Great Depression severely curtailed tourism. It remained empty and unused for three years. In late 1933, the Tampa Bay Junior College was allowed to move into the hotel, using the old suites as classrooms and offices. Because of the large amount of space afforded by the hotel, the scope of the junior college was expanded, becoming the University of Tampa. The Tampa Municipal Museum was established by the city to preserve the hotel in its original form and co-exist with the newly established University. Today, besides serving as offices and classrooms for the University of Tampa, the entire south wing of the building is dedicated to preserving the glory days of the old Tampa Bay Hotel. Various rooms in the wing display authentic artifacts from the old hotel, many of which were purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Plant themselves on various European shopping trips. (Wikipedia)George Ortiz
Beautiful school in a great location, however, if you're looking for a good school with good academics DO NOT COME HERE. The nice look of the school and large dorm rooms is about all it has to offer. As a freshman I went through three advisors in one year without any notification of having mine switched, and I also told my current advisor that I am transferring several times; but I keep receiving emails from them telling me I still have to register for next semester. The advisors here are not really that helpful at all. When you contact any facilities they either take weeks to respond, or do not respond at all. The grading scale is also very odd, so take a look at that as well. My first semester I had all A's and one AB and that brought my GPA down to a 3.8, when in most colleges an A- will bring your GPA down to around 3.9. The wifi is almost nonexistent unless you're using a computer in the library. Please do not invest your money here and go to a more accredited and student friendly college, so you do not have to waste time and stress looking to transfer out of here like many freshman do.Morgan Lowe

I had to make sure I was reading the comments from the correct school. This school is an absolute joke. DO NOT GO HERE! I feel as if the people that are reviewing the school have attended the school for about a month and they still have high hopes. Don't. Lol. We paid over $10,000 to take OPEN BOOK QUIZZES for the first 8 months. The school was not at all challenging I feel as if I cheated my whole way through the course. Yes, I did read. I still study with the books that I have today. Save your money and just take some online courses or find free courses. We changed instructors very often so the teaching style and tempos were very off. If I could go back, I would not at all go here. To put the icing on the cake, they tried to take credit for ME obtaining a job that they did not help me secure. I applied through Indeed, landed a job, and received a call a while later informing of something along the lines of "accreditation" and "Did FCC help me land the job" lol NO. It was not because of my experience with the school either. I had prior work experience. I could go on and on. Just don't go here. Go to HCC if you really want to go to school. I am only giving two stars because I created good memories there… with a man that I met while in class and now we gave a family. 😊 Now that my rant is done. The school has great potential. Better/permanent instructors are NEEDED/WANTED. Life isn't full of open book tests.Tam Tam
I didn’t want to write this review because the the staff was great to me but what happened to be here was very discouraging. But definitely read the reviews and don’t rush into places.. I started the Medical Assisting program My instructor Mrs.Bowling was amazing. Lisa with administration was amazing and Miss.T in financial aid was also amazing. Tho I took my tests which made me eligible for my classes after a few weeks in the program and all the progress I’ve made they give me a call one morning letting me know my test scores are lost or were uploaded wrong on they’re part and I’m not able to come back to school until I retake the test because there was nothing they could do about it and on top of that I would have to restart my WHOLE ENTIRE course and wait for they’re new program to start so I would come in as a new student. It’s very discouraging and disappointing after I’ve pushed myself to finally go back to school and find a career and it all being “crushed” because of the schools mistake that no one would take responsibility for as I was told. I’m not an employee there and I would be PAYING THEM and RESTARTING everything to fix THEY'RE mistake. My feelings were completely HURT as I had to fix THEY’RE mistake which I refused to and just withdrew from the school. So again. Take your time and READ reviews.Cameron Gonzalez
I went here for the EFDA program. It was one of the best experiences I've had. The instructors for the program are truly amazing and the best. Mr.B will sit with you untill you truly understand and grasp what he is teaching you, Mrs.Dee is very patient and one of the most kind people you will meet. Miss.V, I think had the most impact on me, this instructor… It's almost hard to put into words just how amazing she is. She saw the potential in me that I never knew I had. I don't understand some of these bad reviews…. Even if I had a issue that my instructors couldn't help me with Miss.Laura would sit and help untill it was solved and Mr.Jim would do the same. I'm in and almost done with my externship now and Mr.Mike who helped me get to my extern office will help you every step of the way. I learned so much in my time at FCC not just about dental but about myself too. I've not only gone on interviews but, I've had a a ton of dental offices reach out to me and want to hire me as well. I plan on being one of the best EFDA's in my field and that is all due to the one's who taught me.Jessica Lavelle

Review Summary
I just graduated from the Surgical Technology program at this school with the instructor Ms.Daise, she was excellent!! There is sooo much to learn in such a short period of time and she was very thorough and prepared us very well for our clinical rotation. She was our sole instructor this time around. I guess in the past they normally have a seperate instructor for clinicals. We did not this time, And I would not of had it any other way. Having Ms.Daise as our instructor made our clincial rotation so much better, everyone at the location of our clinicals couldnt say anything but great things about our class and our instructor. I guess they have had issues with the other "instructor" at the school that we did not. This program was great! The hospital literally wants to hire every single one of us, thats how great this experience has been for all of us! Ms.Daise is the best!! She is the heart and soul of this program, she really cares and loves to teach and it is apparent. She also has the standards for Surgical technology down pat, And doesnt teach short cuts. SHE IS THE REAL DEAL!! I would give her ten stars if I could, and I would give 2 stars to the Health science Office staff… Too many "politics" going on in the office and they care more about their " status quo" then making sure the students have what they need to succeed. I would highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to get into this field!Amy Parraguez
Program: Computer Systems & Information Technology (CSIT) Instructor: Rob Saul Instructor is world class, he often utilized a Socratic style of teaching which was unique compared to just about every other teacher I've ever had. The program exposes you to various technology but the main components are centered around the CompTIA certifications, namely A+, Net+, Sec+. I'd imagine the core learning material is still largely self-paced as you progress towards each certification exam. I was dual enrolled 9-10 years ago but I doubt much has changed aside from the actual certification material being updated every few years These certs are all great for getting into various entry level IT positions..you're probably looking at roles like help desk/desktop support/support technician/isp tech/etc. These certs won't make you a sys admin or network admin, but they certainly lead to those type of career trajectories. Final thoughts: Adults – I'd personally just recommend picking up an A+, Net+, Sec+ CompTIA bundle and going to town. There I just probably saved you a ton of money. You'd gain the same knowledge and can sit for the same certs the program prepares you for, but in a MUCH quicker time frame really. High School Dual enrollers – 100% sign up for this if seriously interested in computers/networking/security/IT in general. You'll be so ahead of your peers its borderline OP.James Whipple
I went to their information session for surgical technician , and just from simply calling and going there I did not like the experience . I do not recommend going there if you want to be a SURGICAL TECHNICIAN. They want you to pay around 500$ before even getting accepted and it’s non refundable, a tour is not included in the session and I saw a review on here that a surgical technician said there was a 20% passing rate I asked the lady and she pretended like she knew nothing about , she just said they had a really bad dropout rate because students “couldn’t handle it” and that’s why they’re making people who to get in a program take a 4 hour long test. As well as a 2 hour long test . I have never written a bad google review but I really hope nobody wastes their money on this program and not even to know if you’re getting accepted . The only good side of this school is that it’s in a nice area and the interior is very clean and nice . Unless you want to share majority of the college with high school students I don’t recommend you going here.Elianna Corona

I liked OHLA so much! I have been so grateful since the first day when I contacted Iris by phone. She explained all the programs and made me feel trusting by myself and with the school. When I arrived there I was very well received by Iris( advisor student), the director(Marianne), the Academic Leader (Julie) and all teachers. I don’ t have words to describe how wonderful this school is. OLHA, in Tampa, is quiet and comfortable and has new school facilities technology. OLHA is small but too big in terms of actions, social and cultural activities for their students. All the teachers have an English teaching certification and wide experience. The classes are very interesting , funny and you improve your English day by day without pressure or stress. Open Hearts ( OHLA) in Tampa has an excellent location, it is very organized and all the work team is willing and prepared to help you inside and outside of the school. All the team is concerned about your learning and your well being. I hope to come back soon to deepen my knowledge of the English language.Sandra Regina
If you are looking for a good caring teacher, this is the institution to register. But I am giving three-star because of the administration aspect. I started the session with 1 teacher for two parts and changed the teacher in the middle of the session to two teachers. After 3 weeks, I have three teachers going back and forward. In my case, it is making me frustrated. If the school is not ready with the curriculum, they need to class and start when they are ready or put everybody to one level that is ready to teach. Also, I heard that students need to pay for the tuition while the students are on vacation. This is unfair. Even universities and colleges and high schools don't charge tuition unless they are registering for summer or winter school courses. I paid for new textbooks at the beginning of the session, but when I received the textbook, the textbook was used. Someone wrote the answer with a pen.Ruby Myung
If you want to improve your English, this is the best option in the Tampa area. The school is highly recognized internationally, it's a true international experience. You are forced to learn English since people speak in various languages. Teachers are amazing! 100% recommend.Laura Galindo

I’ve been struggling to pass the GED math test for 5 years. After failing the test twice this year my husband and I searched for math tutors in Tampa and we found Amy. Three months ago on this date I failed my math test for the second time and in just 3 months of tutoring with Amy TODAY IS THE DAY I FINALLY PASSED!!! Math was the last test I needed in order to get my diploma and I could NOT have done it without Amy!! She was very patient and she genuinely cares. If you’re struggling with math and you are looking for a dedicated tutor look no further Amy is the best and you are guaranteed to pass!!! Amy thank you so much for all of your help and encouragement!! It was such an unforgettable experience!!!Lizette Gonitski
I have had other tutors and nobody has given me the experience and results that Amy has. She is so professional, organized, and able to help in almost every class. She has helped me so much in chemistry, geometry, algebra, history, english, as well as SAT prep. Amy has also helped me with projects, writing, organization, and study skills! I couldn’t be happier with her. Ever since I have been working with Amy my grades have only gone up! Everyone my mother has recommended her to has been thrilled with their experience. In the past i didn’t like tutoring but now, with Amy, it is actually enjoyable! I don’t know what I would do without her. I couldn’t imagine a better tutor.Meghan peak
Amy was the best tutor I ever had. She is so good teaching math. I understood everything she explained to me. The teachers from my University don't know how to tutor so I had to find my own tutor. I am so happy to have met Amy. She is so caring, smart and patience. If you look for someone that knows about math really well and that will help you for sure, Amy is the one to look. I really recommend her. She is very professional. If you are a beginner, or college student in math and don't know what to do to be better, hire Amy she will help you in all your math need.Francesca Silva

I'm an aspiring ESL instructor, who completed the TEFL practicum at the Tampa Language Center. My experience with the center's staff, students, and director (Ryan W.) have been extremely positive. The staff is knowledgeable, motivated, and caring. The staff exudes an extreme sense of passion and pride for teaching. This passion is transferred to the students, who genuinely put forth the effort to learning the English language. Students are encouraged to ask questions and challenged to exceed the course standards. Many thanks to the inspirational teachers (Mr. Tom, Mr. Sam, Ms. Natalie, and Ms. Kim) who allowed me to participate in their class and have meaningful interaction with their students. The staff is unique in the sense that they find various ways to teach students inside and outside of the classroom. Some teachers incorporate class trips, events, community service, and other activities into their lessons, providing students the opportunity to practice their listening and speaking skills with other native English speakers. If you're looking to learn the English language in a positive, encouraging, and judgment free environment, the Tampa Language Center is the place for you.E Gold
I was lucky to study here with amazing teachers and students. I really enjoyed talking to people who work in the school, and all of them are kind and helpful to all students. In the end, I want to say thank you to all my teachers Anne Marie, Kim Gallon, and Sam Morter, and I won’t forget to say thanks to the school administration, especially Ryan and the girl who works in the first office. She is professional and amazing. I highly recommend this school to people who want to improve their English.Malik Amri
I used the Tampa Language Center for my practicum. I think my practicum experience was wonderful! The first day of meeting the director Ryan, he gave me and the other students observing the confidence and opportunity to teach on our own. He didn’t doubt us, and he armed us with many tools on how to teach. He was reliable, very easy to talk to and accommodating, and I know I had an awesome practicum experience because of him and Ms. Gallon. I would highly recommend this school to anyoneBriana DeTuro

Ok so I'm just finishing my 8th grade year and I really liked my experience, there is a wide range of things to do when I comes to electives and the teachers for the most part are trally njce and supporting. So the one thing I don't like js that discipline here sucks, they say that they work hard to punish kids yet there are still fight and alot of in my opinion mean things happen here.like alot of mean names and slight bullying. . But other wise I really liked jt here and I would recommend it to people.Isabela S.
PV really is a great school. Their art program is really fun and interactive. I was in chorus for all my 3 years and the chorus was like family to me. I got to perform lots of fun shows and go to amazing places, New York for example. Sometimes things can be unorganized. Since our principle changed, however, there have been more fights and behavior problems. But if you are looking for a good art program, PV has it ✊E S
I finally finished my 3 years here! My experience was pretty great besides the typical middle school drama. Most of the teachers are very sweet and helpful (with the exception of a few) and it is very easy to grow close to your teachers. My advice is pick your friends wisely and stay out of trouble! Good luck at PV!Penelope Morton

When my wife and I purchased a Club Z! Franchise, we were amazed with the company’s support team, other franchisees success and the comprehensive training from A to Z. Granted, our training had a lot of information to take in but well worth the time. If we did not understand a particular area, our trainer would take the time and review the section thoroughly. My wife and I have been in the education industry for many years. When comparing the Club Z! In-Home model against the tutor “brick and mortar,” there were no comparisons in terms of cost. The overhead for a “brick and mortar” was not cost effective for us. This is especially true with our educators pay. Club Z!’s software technology allows us to be very nimble online. Having the websites, online back office software and many other cost cutting technologies, we can compete against the “brick and mortar” model.Matt Baker
I have been a Club Z! Employee for over 6 years, and I LOVE working here. My co-workers are great, and we all get along very well. The management is also very favorable and genuinely care about the employees. Appreciation is frequently shown through various work activities. I also like our one on one approach with our franchise owners. They can call in and talk to our employees almost immediately without any annoying phone prompts. But the most rewarding part of my job is the services we provide to our customers and truly make a difference in their lives. We are truly here to all succeed together as one team!Lisa Dunn
If I could give the company a 0, I would. What a horrible company that doesn’t value your time. I was referred to contact them for tutoring services. They an appointment with me for zoom. I was never sent code. On the day of the appointment I called 3 times and not once did I receive a call. What’s to say you can actually trust them to show up at your house when you’ve already paid themAnita

So I ended up quitting the Cosmetology program due to many of reasons that I feel derived from the fact that I approached the department heads and the instructors about doing my texture hair which is consider course in the text book not "Ethnic" as the instructors use. I was told by one instructor that doing my texture hair is a specialty and was even Pointed out within a discussion with a Salon owner which I found odd and indirect to say the least. As a African American there are certain products used such as oils that we should be able to use without being told that "Why buy the products when they are going to just sit on the shelf". Further more for my instructor to come up on me and tell me my hair looks "thirsty" was not a joking matter considering I washed my hair with shampoo that isn't for moisture of my texture hair nor is it provided in the salon. Majority of the women/girls were not of my texture hair and could get services done on their hair with no issue. It began a class off 4 African American students but one dropped the course due to one of the instructors asking the 2 to remove their dreadlocks to get their hair washed in which she denies. I sat before 2 department heads and my instructors to address my concerns as well as input from other students within the class and continued after it was uncomfortable feel in the class to the point I received a "0" on a assignment in which the directions were on the board which is not the then said instructions by the instructors. Clearly if any one of them did not know anything about care of course hair it should have been said. There have been a few in the community that have reached out to this school in the past to teach how to care for hair such as "Ethnic" and have been rejected. I am addressing a issue that is being looked over. Yes, I have ruined my financial aid but I felt like I needed to remove myself.GENELLE Ross
Honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had. Because of my instructors and the rest of the staff at WTC my future look great. Even at 35 your never to old to learn a new trade or skill. There welding program is highly affordable and you will learn more than you expect to and more than you would at any of the top welding schools out there. I highly recommend WTC welding to both men and woman. If your not sure what you want to do in life and are hands on..don't waste time and money on college. Learn a trade in a quarter of the time. And still make more money then them with no debt.Andy Bernhardt
Taking the GED classes is honestly a joke. Teacher doesn't teach if she does "teach" her answers are wrong. Pushes you when you aren't ready You ask for help sits you in front of a computer. Talks behind other students backs. Can't control her class. Underage students will wonder around for around 30 to 40 mins. Everyone talks or goofs off. When I signed up I was told "she's our best ged teacher" that's false. Might as well just do it on a computer at home.K K

Ive never been to this complex before til now. I was teaching kids with disabilities how to ride a bicycle. This place has a lot going on. Stuff for kids, things for adults. Classes, art, and all kind of other programs. They also have a basketball court for the kids in the neighborhood can play ball. The complex is very nice especially with the big LOVE sculpture (I think it's a sulpture but don't quote me on it) out front as you roll by or roll in. I'm definitely going back to see what programs they have especially the art. 🌀MIKE DISCO CYCLOMANIACS

I have never felt so degraded. I was seeking utility assistance. I have never asked for utility assistance from metropolitan ministries. The person Christie Burton is the one I’ve been emailing. Mind you I’m 46 I have worked my entire life so I have paid my taxes and to be given stipulation and to be interrogated to receive assistance for one electric bill is unacceptable. I take care of my 6 yr old child with severe autism so my life isn’t exactly the way it was before he was born. I had to sacrifice a lot and that’s ok because he is worth it! So to be asked by Ms Burton “Why don’t you work” is RUDE and unacceptable and she told me I had to do a class through Regions bank and pay half of the 167.00 electric bill and show the receipt before she would help me. I can tell you one thing if you are a person working to help people then by God humble yourself and treat people with dignity and respect. Don’t assume because God can change anyones life instantly and you may be in the same situation I’m in. I feel like they don’t want to help me and I am a burden. It’s already hard enough asking for assistance. Very sad they treat people this way.Misty
GIVE YOUR MONETARY DONATIONS to some other non profit or start a new one cause metropolitan ministries aint it, and if you are going for financial services you've got to be there at the crack of dawn, so 5-6AM. They are currently taking a average of 10 people a day to help with just a portion of your bill (about 50%). You will be made to feel like you are at the lowest you been at your entire life and like a beggar. There were people there who said they were coming everyday for a week straight only to be turned away, when asked for some type of form or receipt to show I was there and made an effort to get my bill paid they denied me that. When asked could they look at my documents to see if they were sufficient so I won't waste another day. I was ignored. SECURITY asked me to speak to him in English when I spoke to him in Spanish. They were rude. God dont like ugly is all im saying..Maria Santiago
Went there today for homeless assistance or possibly get a hotel voucher for me and my 19 yr old son. I was told they do not provide hotel vouchers anymore plus they would accept me for shelter and told my son they would give him a resource guide to help him in which would place him God knows where. I was not going to leave my son to stay in a shelter and leave him out there. My situation is different as I am being evicted out of my home due to plumbing issues, not due to nonpayment. My landlord does not want to pay and fix the problem therefore I am forced to leave in such a short time. I understand your rules, but I would not leave my son as we stick together with everything financially. A mother just could not do that. We both Live in Ruskin and we both Work in Ruskin and we are just falling in difficult times now.Bernita Smith

the front desk lady was very rude. she has no manners, i said hi and she just said: " write your name on the waiting list", she needs to get some costumer service training. absolutely unprofessional, my experience was the same as someone just wrote below: i just wanted to say it in my own broken english writing but here is what he wrote: (copy and paste) : I walked in to find out information. The staff in the front did not greet me at all. In fact I greeted them and instead of returning the hello they instructed me to sign in. I explained I just have a few questions. The other lady behind the counter raised her voice and said to sign in. Very rude and unfriendly. The other folks waiting noticed the rude behavior as well. I simply just turned right around and walked out. Would never recommend this place to anyone. If they can't even be nice if can't imagine the rest of the staffRafael Degannes
I do not like leaving bad feedback whatsoever but whoever the hell hired the staff at this place is a dummy! Experienced a RUDE welcome and a teacher helped me to the front desk (because i was lost) and the lady in front pretty much yelled at him for speaking before me NOT knowing he was helping me! Super rude and just plain out MEAN. The staff in the front were all standing around not doing a damn thing but gossiping in spanish which they thought I didnt understand probably because the color of my skin but I am 100% puerto rican and understood 100% of what they were discussing mind you none of it was education related. People who come to this office come to learn and grow not to be treated with such disrespect! This place needs new employees. I agree with ALL the negative feedback from this place. Really sad how they are operating such a place!Cydnee Cintron
I took the GED classes for math a few years ago and it was a wonderful experience. The staff, specially the director Chris were so nice and helpful. The best teacher Ms. Herman was awesome. She has so much patience and she really know how help you understand something so hard in a simple way. She was great!!! I would recommend ALCO in a heartbeat. Thanks!!!Monica Cheyne

Rude office workers, i went in at the beginning of the year to enroll my children and i had all 3 of them with me and their reaction (ladies at the reception) was not a good one. They looked at each other with a face that one makes when they dont like someone. I asked what was the rating of the school and she said a D but almost an F i dont think that was a funny joke if she was making one. I did not enrolled my children here.realgordisgordis
Was a kid so I'm sure my feelings were like most…..oh no..egads.school! However, I was in the Safety Patrol & got to wear the 'green belt' & safety badge' standing at the Sun Dial every morning so thought I was hot stuff….ha….must have had an influence because I did wind up eventually in law enforcement in Hillsborough County! It was a beautiful school though, no doubt about it…Anthony Barreto-Neto
A great school so helpful so nice so kind and so welcoming I have been in this school for 6 years going to middle school I will miss this great school and this school is a no bully school they don't like students who bully or make fun of other students and all of the staffs and teachers are so loving ♥️🎉SpoiledBrat_3

Review Summary
Went here from sixth to eighth grade. This middle school is one of the most unique middle schools in the country. This middle school has a student population of all boys, has a house system, and has very advanced technology. With all of the basic details out of the way, let's analyze some of the key components of this school: The first aspect you will notice about this school is the campus. The campus layout in the school has a two-story central building with most of the classes, the admin, and the media center. It also has lots of small buildings south of the main building. The campus can be somewhat difficult to navigate, but is still a fair layout to the school. Next, you will learn about the traditions the school is unique. The uniform policy requires all boys with light blue collars, a tie, and khaki pants. Seems pretty average for an academically advanced school. Different colored ties makes the students easy to identify. The house system is okay, and has many ceremonies, competitions, and winners. This makes the school have a very competitive atmosphere and environment. Being an introvert, this did not really fit to my personality, but once I got older, I start to value all this pressure to succeed, no matter what house you get inducted into. I get to learn about leadership, teamwork, and how good it feels to win. Eighth grade PE made me value all those things. Not only does the school put pressure on the boys physically, but academically. No matter your past grades or FSA Scores, your son will be put into advanced courses, like regular middle school courses but more work. Some teachers may give a lot of homework, especially in Math. Algebra 1 & Geometry were some of my most vigorous courses. However, these difficult classes makes you succeed. Your counselors and teachers want you to succeed, and determination is required for you to get an "A"! No class will be too easy for you. The school also offers after-school clubs, called enrichment. These clubs can either be very productive or just a social club, and very relaxing. Throughout my experience, i have grown fond relationships with the teachers and staff at this school. I will say they really did benefit me through middle school and beyond. The principal is very conservative, and is a man of discipline and rules. The principal makes sure the boys are well-behaved and be role models, no matter what grade level you are in. He will make sure you will award you for good behavior and learn from your mistakes. The rest of administration is like that, but can go less on you. The cafeteria staff cares about their students, but depreciates as the longer you stay in Franklin. Food was good in sixth grade, but is just okay once you get to eighth grade. The students in this school are behaved, although horse-playing can be common in this school. Note that the school is very close to the ghetto. You can make friends in this school, just be aware of social etiquette, and you will be fine. The school also makes contact with the girls school nearby. The principal teaches the boys about respect, manners, and stability, but what about the parts that make you interesting? The dances do not affect your son's early love life whatsoever. Up to my experience, I have gotten some very strange crushes following my departure from Franklin. In conclusion, It depends on the type of boy your son is if you want to choose this. If you want your son to succeed, and learn about positive traits and values. I hope this review helps you for your sixth grade choice!Landon Bellamy
Its only the beginning of the year, yet I must write, Principal, John Haley is one of the best Principal s Of any school establishment I've ever met. I truly congratulate Mr. Haley on the emphasis that he puts on Franklin, his positive influence, and hard work is not unnoticed here. He puts in more than 100%, keeps parents informed, and is a man of his word. He is by far caring for his students. I honestly have shook my head in disbelief on the first day as he asisted, and took the time to tie my sons tie like a father. That's just a small note of what I've seen. I don't usually leave reviews at the beginning of the year, but a compliment is due. And Franklin has started off as a great impression, there are issues like any other school , like bullying, but Mr. Haley has no tolerance for it! he has shown, and expressed those issues to all parents, and does not ignore it. I've seen him deal with the problem at hand.Tamara Vazquez
I think the school is great, one of a kind just eggcelent. We learn about creed values and much more. The staff and teachers are very nice, but you can expect to get stressed and depressed at times 😧😭… mainly because of tests and assignments. But everyone does, you just have to have DETERMINATION AND BRAVERY to get through everyday weather you got a bad grade, but if you do you just have to try better th next day. 🐺🐶🦊😺 This was made from me ( her son ), I attend franklin in 7th grade, if you have any questions ask below.Tina Hammond

Review Summary
My son has nearly completed his first year of kindergarten at BPA in South Tampa, a public charter school. It was not our first choice as we did select it after he didn’t receive an offer during the lottery from a magnet elementary school. BPA has far exceeded our expectations. We were initially impressed with the information session and how this school offers PE, Spanish, music, and art in addition to the standard core curriculum. Our son receives 45 mins of Spanish instruction a day! Wow! That’s unheard of and truly a phenomenal bonus in your child’s education. These electives are oftentimes cut or not offered due to budget issues at a traditional public school. This school is small and still includes grades K-8. The teachers and kids get to know one another. The faculty and staff are very warm and welcoming yet also hold students, families and employees accountable. We can see the commitment and passion from all of our son’s kindergarten teachers, front office and all the way up to the administration. We have emailed or messaged in Dojo his teachers and school administrators who will reply within a day or two. Everyone so far has been open to discuss our questions and concerns by email, phone or in-person. The teachers have adapted and individualized our son’s education. Many teachers have given him supplemental work to further augment his learning experiences. He’s doing wonderfully! We love how diverse the student body is as well. We didn’t want our son to attend a school that is monolithic. He is white and it’s very important for us to have him attend a racially and ethnically diverse school. There are a few after school clubs that you can sign your kiddos up for. Our son loves the weekly soccer program. The school occasionally offers free parenting workshops and family friendly festivals or events. The school works hard to fundraise, for a small fee it has offered pizza and movie nights/afternoons and painting classes for their students and more. The parents do support their kiddos and the BPA. The kids get to know one another especially during after care. I enjoy seeing the upperclassman positively interact with the younger kiddos. I’ve truly been impressed with our son’s growth emotionally and academically. He went from a shy, anxious kid to thriving making new friends and sharing work and thoughts in the classroom. The curriculum has been challenging yet fun for him. This school is a hidden gem and we’re fortunate that we found it by happenstance. We didn’t always see eye-to-eye with his primary teacher but we set that personality conflict aside to focus on our son’s success. She has been 100% committed to teaching our son and all of her students. Another great opportunity is that the students receive instruction by multiple teachers in addition to the primary teachers. The two primary teachers split the core curriculum (e.g., science + math and writing + reading), then there’s another teacher for music, Spanish and art. In traditional public elementary school a primary or homeroom teacher does often deliver all core subjects e.g., math, science, reading and writing. It’s awesome to have so many different teachers and the kids get exposure to various teaching styles. The teachers are truly committed to student success. The school is small and the pride and opportunities for your child’s learning are great. Check it out! No school is ever perfect. BPA of South Tampa offers a nurturing, safe and enjoyable learning environment for our son. One last notable area for improvement, the school lacks in resources like a guidance counselor or gifted instruction. It would be great to have children tested for gifted and also receive support from a guidance counselor. The assistant principal is a nice resource but it’s not the same as a true guidance counselor if issues arise. The students can receive supplemental work but the opportunity for gifted testing and obtaining this designation for your child isn’t an option like at traditional public schools.usfbull
As a principal of BridgePrep Academy Tampa for the last seven years, there are some facts I would like to bring to light around the work our team has accomplished. Each day I am honored 250+ families, or 350+ students, allow me to be a part of their daily lives. When the school started eight years ago, it ended the school year with an F grade and financial struggles. I elected to leave a state position to help turn around the school with few employees remaining and a fresh start in its second year. Within the first year of my employment, we doubled enrollment, improved financial status, and increased the school grade. Upon my 3rd year, the team and I successfully improved and maintained a “B” school grade with no financial hardships. We worked diligently to receive additional funding to support our academic program in the fourth year. We received Title I dollars that expanded learning opportunities for our students. We have offered extended learning and Saturday academy since my assignment. Our teachers are some of the most generous, kindhearted, and resilient people. They work tirelessly, engage in data-driven discussions around student outcomes, and prepare each day with social-emotional programs in mind to focus on the whole child. I share these facts as our team continues to read social media posts, some good and some not so good. Indeed, we are not perfect. We have not been able to please all our families as hoped. As a small school with two teachers at each grade level and our individualized instruction, we can quickly identify academic or social-emotional concerns for a child. We work with our families to find the healthiest learning environment for all children. We despise seeing our children leave us due to travel, moving, or sometimes not being the best fit. As the administrator, I take full responsibility for our family’s happiness at our school. We try our absolute best to be available. We answer late-night texts, calls, and emails to be approachable and part of your family. My motto is “we cannot fix what we do not know.” At times, social media shows those most frustrated with our work, which is their right through free speech. We hear you. We grow and learn. Additionally, we thank those who have and continue to recognize our dedication, success, and accomplishments. Your return to BridgePrep Tampa each year and participation in our learning, festivities, and sports is what makes us a thriving institution for teaching and learning. I specifically want to thank those who swing by the office to check in, say hi, and ask for help to engage in candid conversations. Sincerely, Dr. HarrisChristine N Harris - BPA
My kids had their last day at bridgeprep academy in Tampa today. We are all very sad, because this place is truly wonderful. I don’t care what test scores say, what annoyed parents say, this school is a better learning environment than any of the south tampa schools I have actually taught part time in, and that my kids used to attend. Though there are many exceptional schools in south tampa, most 10/10 schools are not inclusive of all socioeconomic backgrounds, and because I work in the non-profit world we didn’t really fit in. But bridgeprep is a place that changed my views on south tampa, and though they have fundraisers and events that cost, they are very feasible for me, a single mom. That, plus my kids getting to shine (finally!) for the great kids they are. We are only leaving because I got a new job in St. Petersburg and the commute is too much on us as a family. We’d stay forever if we could. The teachers (Mr. George, Mrs. peacock, ms. Stewart, Mrs. Hernandez, the aftercare staff, the principal, and many others— thank you for loving and pouring into my kids. I can’t thank you enough) were the best we’ve ever had— on all levels. I truly mean that. I wasn’t asked or paid to write any of this. I’m doing it because I want people to read a real review that is really kinda unbiased. The policies, ease of parental involvement (they don’t ask for much and are easy to contact!), just overall care and learning was superb in this place. What a blessing we got some time here. Send your kids here— they will learn Spanish, be a young person who is known and cared about and not a number, have tons of sports and activities they can be involved in, and your family will gain a beautiful community.Alicia Schmid

I'm a fellow student in GPA and a student ambassador and even though I'm in my first year I feel excepted for who I am. I found my light when I thought I would never find it. It opened me up to so many new opportunities and new and old amazing friends. Not only that but it gives you many second chances. For example… Even if you get a bad score on a test/ quiz they let you do corrections to improve that score. Also you get to do the wheel which let's you know what electives are their and after that you can choose your elective. Over all it's an amazing school with many many opportunities. Definitely recommend P.S many of the teachers are super nice and make sure you have a wonderful GPA day.Genny V
Ive been a student here at Ferrel for three years strong, and personally I love how us girls learn, grow, and achieve together through our creed and lifestyle. Since we are an all girl school I really feel a sense of girls supporting girls and how connected everyone is, especially the teachers. Every year at ferrel I can honestly say I’ve never had a teacher who wasn’t amazing at what they do and how they treat us, everyone’s really understanding but also able to push us to do our best, they really make the school stand out and I’ll be sad to leave them next year. Overall this school is the most exceptional choice when choosing what school to send your child.Havanna Smiles
As a current student at Ferrell, I’ve had an great experience the whole 3 years I’ve attended. The teachers genuinely care about their students and provide students with lots of opportunities to help them succeed. The schools environment is very welcoming as well. The students and staff are very kind and there isn’t lots of violence either. Overall I recommend this school because Ferrell provides good opportunities to their students to help them do well all 3 years and get into good high schoolsLashonda Wilburn

I have to start off by saying I LOVE the staff and teachers. They do the best they can with the services provided. The down side is my son just started getting homework and he's in the 2nd grade. His first grade teacher apparently didn't believe in homework. I do enjoy not having homework from time to time but I do strongly believe homework at least 2-3 days a week other than reading can take a child a longs ways, especially if they may stumble across an easier way of completing it. The other thing is fundings for the school is low. It is sad when a teacher tells you they cannot provide paper due to not having copier paper. I do believe they should hold more fund raising opportunities for the school when it comes to everyday essentials like paper, notebooks pencils.. etc.. This school could possibly become better if WE parents pitch in often. Just my thoughts! FYI… I did join PTA and never received any information about it. I was never told anything and could and can not get ahold of anyone. I would love to know who is in charge of PTA. Thanks!Madelin Colon
I wouldn't have been able to say this 4 years ago when my children first attended here. They had great teachers and the staff was more caring and courteous….BUT NOW the teachers don't care and neither do the staff. My children came back to this school and got bullied since day they stepped in the door. The teachers and administration aren't doing anything about it either. So happy this is the end of this school for my babies….maybe one day the school will get shut down because they are so bad.Ruth Jones
By far one of the worst schools my kids had to go to. The teachers barely care and did nothing when incidents arise or bullying happens. 2 of my kids never get homework. Some of these teachers have no patience and lack of respect for students but want to complain about students behavior when they are not setting a great example themselves. On that note am glad my kids passed to the next level even with the challenges they faced.Jenny 2Sweet14

Been going here for a few months now. Love everything about it. Don't understand why someone rated it 1 star. This place is what you make of it. Give it a shot. Update 1: La Salle has helped me with my resume, they send out job openings regularly and helped me secure my first IT job. I definitely recommend this school. Update 2: Made it past my 90 days and I still love this school. Give it a shot. Got my A+, Net+ and Sec+. Next is Win 7 Config. Then MCSA Server 2012. If you think Win 10 is more important. No problem, they have that too. Update 3: Month 10 at Help Desk, just passed my CISSP Associate test with ISC2. Working towards some security related positions. Starting class later this month for CEH and PMP. I hope to test out for both and then backtrack a little bit for CCNA Routing and Switching and CCNA Security if I need to. In case your were wondering, I still love the school and the ladies there really seem to root me on which is awesome. Current certs are A+, Net+, Sec+, and CISSP Associate. Update 4: About 2 years after the fact, A+, Net+, Sec+, ITIL, CISSP Associate and CEH. I had made Helpdesk Tier 2 at my previous position. Didn't see a real future at that company. Joined a new company with the help of the ladies here at La Salle in a NOC with a competent team to learn from as I move up. Hopes are high and optimistic still. I am also looking into online college for a bachelors in Cyber Security. That starts in 2 months. Update 5: La Salle set me up with jobs and training that helped to change my life. The next chapter involves more direct training and additional certifications. This is a great certification school and it will help you to change careers into IT. Like anything else, it will not make you a great student. That part depends on you.Joshua W
I wish I could go lower on the scale. These people at La Salle just want your money. Period. You would be better off going to Amazon and purchase a book and learn the material on your own. It was a complete waste of time and money. They're all hybrid classes, and the paste is very fast. The book I was issue was the cheapest book available on Amazon with a 1 star rating. After the course was over, I had to purchase a better book so I can better learn and understand the material. There's not enough time to learn the material in class. There's not enough hands-on as they claimed. The majority of their student comes from the military which is guaranteed money from the Department of Veterans Affairs. DON'T DO IT….. Invest your time and money somewhere else.Jimmy N
I've been attending Lasalle since March or April of 2017 and I love it here. I've gotten my Network +, Security + and my CCNA. By the end of November I plan to have my MCSA and CCNA Security. IT's true this place is what you make of it. They've helped me and given me extra help when needed. I didn't want to attend a school that had instructors that were not in the field. Ted, Julian and Mike have been my instructors and these guys are str8 Gurus. There has been times I've been down but they pick me up and put me back on track. I recommend this school to anyone who's serious about a career in IT.Jose Barbosa
