20 Best 2 Year Nursing Programs In Denver, CO (2022 Updated)

ACC is the best Community College in Colorado period. A large fraction of the teachers employed here are ex-Ivy League professors. My intro to business teacher was a top business professor at Clemson University. Most professors have PhD’s as opposed to a master’s degree. The grading process is very fair and these professors really care about your education and will go above and beyond to see that you succeed, granted you actually seek the help this is college people the teachers most likely aren’t going to come to you. There are so many different resources, including, but not limited too: Free tutors who are amazing ( in my opinion better than if you hired one), teachers who actually care about your future and present situations, book store/school supplies store on campus, a cafe with Caribou coffee, a milkshake machine and other great snacks, there are plenty of different areas to do school work or study that are very comfortable and convenient, they have hundreds if not thousands of majors and minors to choose from you want it, they’ve got it and so much more. Arapahoe Community College is by far the greatest her in Colorado. It is not overly priced the tuition rates are so great basically you can receive an Ivy League education for 10-15k per year. It’s an amazing way to save money especially when you are planning to go to a big university. Better to spend 10-15k on required pre- requisite classes, AKA GenEd rather than 25-75k. And since ACC has such amazingly qualified professors you won’t be behind , or unable to transfer successfully to a 4-year university, you will be able to make a smooth transition. Veteran student here, all I can say is this school has been a waste of my benefits. The administration is aware that they are understaffed, busy, and stretched far too thin. Though nothing has changed not just with ACC but CCCS as well. There was a total of 4 semesters dealing with covid and distance learning, and there was no change in how it felt to learn from Spring 2020 till this past Spring 21. Four semesters with no change in how classes are taught, how students are engaged, how professors make sure that you are understanding the information, the list goes on and on. I had given up in most of my classes that I took here. I have felt everything but motivation, and determination to want to participate and study. The course I am studied in was faulty and dated. The introductory class alone is dated and will not prepare you for what it is to be an interior designer let alone give an actual representation of the work done in the field. I didn't learn to sketch, read floor plans, study the design process, bubble charts, box charts. I LEARNED HOW TO DECORATE. It was also very clear that if you wanted to decorate and only decorate you would do well in this program. I can’t believe how much this organization has failed its students and faculty. I’m seriously contemplating whether I to stop attending ACC. It doesn’t make since that online classes cost $100 extra per credit when a professor has you read chapters, and answer the chapter questions and do a weekly discussion question. There was no feedback to where I could know if I was grasping the concepts. I’d rather research what books each class provides and read them on my own then Pay $900 to a teacher that doesn’t communicate with us at all. On top of that, I experienced a micro-aggression during my final presentation where my professor asked if my business sold burritos because we were a Latino museum… This school needs to work with educating their teachers to learn how to treat their diverse students with respect and dignity. I wish I could give this school ZERO stars. Some teachers press play on a recorded lecture during our "class," and thats how we learn. Other teachers read verbatim off of the slides. There is only one competent teacher – Mary Castang, but she only teaches the begining nursing classes. The teachers were very unprofessional and often didnt know answers to students questions. They are very power hungry, and will get in arguments with students who find mistakes or have questions about the material/books. The books are written by regis professors – an obvious conflict of interest and are required for the class. The clinical instructors are VERY untrustworthy, and will cover their back in an instant, and put the students at risk. Even though they are supposed to protect students, and teach them during clinical. The dean for the nursing school terrible, and should really be looked into. She claims to care about the students well being and wants them to suceed. Of course this all happens virtually or in a big lecture hall in front of all the students. When met with individually she acted as if she was listening and responded with a gereic response she probably tells all students/ has a list and chooses one that matches what the student says –> all she had to say was "I dont care," and literally reapeated that after I tried to explain. All very degrading and emotionally traumatizing when nurses in school are already loaded with busy work from class, and clinical work assigned by the clinical instructor and from the class teacher. Lisa Zenoni comes off as the sweetest lady during orientation, and seems super supportive of students succeeding. After school starts shes very passive aggressive, and gets very defensive when she is confronted about being wrong. All in all, if admitted to the nursing program, be aware of every rules in the student guide, and dont follow the directions of the clinical instuctors as those rules dont match the regis rules and those are grounds for dismissal. Understand the teachers and how they teach and be ready to teach yourself. As for the students, the younger students who went throught the regis college are very rude to the transfer students and try to get them in trouble due to the fact that theu are usually smarter, do really well in all the classes, and are very motivated. Be very careful where trust is,placed as it is easilt used to get students in trouble.maria trick

Disappointment at every turn. I'm a student at Regis, was using my GI Bill here. I've seen a lot of my classmates (BS Computer Science) not able to find the classes offered needed to graduate on schedule. The course offerings are pretty sporadic, graduating on time is unlikely. I was pursuing a certificate in Information Systems Security along with a BS in Computer Science, but the Advanced Unix course that was required for the certificate is offered once a year and often doesn't even run. Now the certificate has been withdrawn. The advisors are helpless. The closer you get to graduation, the harder it is to find the classes you need. I have been advising my veteran friends to attend other schools. The professors here are top notch. They are the only reason I can give Regis two starts instead of one.Zach Zachareas

If you don't already have a job in the computer programming world, do not bother going to Regis through their online computer science degree program. The program has many errors in both the content, the instructions, and even in the grading of assignments. The cost of their program is incredibly expensive, unacceptably so with the errors they have in their own coursework. You also spend all of your time reading and teaching yourself since there are little to no videos available. This is fine if you have experience in the field already or are fine with reading a textbook, but if you are looking for someone to actually teach you this is not the location you want to go. I had some guy named Ian text me. He started off by saying hi. All I wanted was information on the nursing program. Then he asked if I did the financial aide, then he said " we cannot go forward if they didn't have my financial aide information and if I had a high school diploma. All I wanted was information about the nursing program, why would I give him all that information? He kept pressuring me. So, finally I said to him, I will not ho forward until I get information about the nursing program. I have applications pending at other nursing schools. And accepted to one. I'm a busy mom, worked full time until recently and have been working towards my Bach. Psychology with a minor in Spiritual Leadership. I've enjoyed every moment of my degree. The counselors have been phenomenal and the student financial aid department is both nice and helpful every time I've had to contact them. This isn't a slacker school. The courses are demanding and the knowledge you obtain is real. I love the flexibility online classes offers as I have two young boys at home and a full time job to keep up with. I absolutely loved going to school here. I have made so many life long friendships and even met my husband here! Not only that, but I am friends with the professors here and still keep in touch with them. They have a fantastic missions department where students can lead trips across the world to share the Gospel. The campus looks nothing like what it did when I first started going there but it’s exciting to go back and see all the changes and upgrades they have. They let me down big time, took forever to get my financial aid appointment, they slacked on helping me as a first time student and caused me to be bumped out of the esthetisian course for the second time and they put me on a waiting list again saying the course is now filled up. The advisors don't communicate well and didn't do enough to ensure that process would come together. So now after all of my hard work to get in school they won't own up to the fact that they failed and put it back on me. Excuse me but they get a pay check to ensure a first time student succeeds. No going the extra mile here nor connecting the dots. Your just SOL if you think they care.E Green

It is like pulling teeth to get ahold of ANYONE here. I've sent several emails and voicemails. When (and if) someone does finally respond, they leave a very undetailed email. I never get a phone call back. I live an hour away from the school so "dropping in" isn't really an option. I was willing to move closer to the school if I got into their LPN program, but stopping by to be able to talk to someone is just a bit out of the way… I don't want to drive all the way down there for a few simple questions…Aimee Whatley

This was an incredibly thorough program. The online portion fully prepared me for my test and I love that I could go at my own pace and still have access to previous sections. I had Cassie C. as much my skills instructor and she went above and beyond to be sure everyone in class understood each skill. She was patient, kind and funny when appropriate. I had Cassie as my instructor and she was the best. She is very clear in explaining skills in exams and skills in a facility. I would highly recommend Voyager Lakewood. For the clinicals we had Laurel and she explained everything to us very clearly which communication is really important here. She checks in during rotations just to make sure we are still okay. This program is incredibly informative and helpful. The instructors are very student focused and are passionate about the success within the program as well as the future endeavors of each of their students. The South Denver School of Nursing Arts are the people you want in your corner. I took my CNA education course remotely from Hawaii during the pandemic and SDSNA went above and beyond in supporting me in remote instruction. They have an awesome lab to practice your skills in and you will build community with other students. Not only does SDSNA wholeheartedly believe in their students skills and academic ability, they will support you throughout your career and help you get where you want to be. I was struggling with getting my first CNA gig, and SDSNA advocated for me to ensure I got in touch with the right recruiters. They also coach you on how to interview and provide you with a ton of resources to help you land the job you want. I am so thankful for everyone at this school. The online classes were easy to handle and very interactive. The structure was easy to follow and I felt supported every step of the way. My instructor worked around my 12 hour work shifts. I was able to do these classes, work, and be a full time mom. I loved the at home partner involvement! SDSNA is an amazing school to get your CNA license. Whitney, the owner, is so welcoming and supportive the whole time. The instructors are also very supportive and you truly feel like they are rooting you on every step of the way. My class felt like a family by the end of the four weeks and I was sad to leave them and part ways. My mother has been at Hallmark for 3 years now and loves it. When she first moved in, she would tell us she felt like she was in college dorms with so many friends to visit, great food, and exceptional care. She became involved in all the different activities, church services, and fun events. She became President of the residents and loves working with the staff to continue the sense of family she has found at Hallmark. The staff encourages the residents to visit each other, especially if someone is feeling alone. Creating a sense of community and family is a priority for the management. We have peace of mind that our mother is in a clean, protective, and loving community. The staff communicate well with the families and always try to accommodate the families’ specific needs/wants. My mother has been at Hallmark for about 10 days now and it has been a blessing to have her in such a warm and welcoming facility. The staff here is very caring, compassionate, and professional in every aspect of their work. Thank you for taking excellent care of my mom! This review is long overdue but better late than never. My mom fell last year and went to Hallmark Nursing Center for rehab. They were outstanding and had so much to deal with during the Covid restrictions. They were kind, attentive, friendly, and caring. I was nervous about taking her to a nursing facility since I had poor experiences with other centers when my dad was ill. I highly recommend this facility for your loved one's care. Every time I went to visit my relative on a cold day, the place stank of pee. He was having trouble for a while and we found out that the nurses were over-medicating him, giving him his morning pills twice a day instead of just once. His room was always dirty and they called me to come in and clean it up. I found two cockroaches in his dresser drawer when I was cleaning out his things after he passed. When he died, the employees told me he had packed a box with memorabilia to distribute to the other residents. After asking the other residents about this box of gifts, I soon discovered that none of them had received anything and a good 1/3 of his belongings were gone including every birthday and Christmas present I ever gave him and his wife's jewelry. His roommate had a stack of empty DVD cases and he explained to me that the nurses would come in at night and take the movies out and replace the empty cases on his shelf. He was treated well because he was mobile and outspoken and could approach the nurses to ask for his medication, but there were times they would not have his pills on hand, and it would take a long time to get them. Positives: The residents get to go on outings often, as long as they pay the admission fees. This is one of the few places where chronic smokers can still smoke while in care. The food is not horrible and residents are kept busy with puzzles and video games.Hope B

I visited a friend and her husband at this facility in September 2009. While there I witnessed the following things: Multiple rooms had their call light on over their door. The nurses were sitting and talking at the nurse station. I had to go request the nurse come to my friends room. She said she'd come. After 10 minutes, she still hadn't come. I finally stood and watched her before she summoned an orderly to come and help. The orderly was crying from the stress on her. The other rooms still had their call lights on when I left an hour later. My friend says that at night, when she summons a nurse, they ignore her until she starts yelling for them. When they hear her yelling, they come and drug her to keep her quiet. 4 stars from Medicare doesn't mean much, since the medicare scores are supplied by the facility itself. Make sure you visit, and visit on the weekend so you can see how understaffed they are.Paul Natale

The DON martha needs to be talked to by the head people over her. My sister worked here thru agency. Now the company don't want to pay the agency and lied on my sister. Charge nurse name Elizabeth signed my sister paperwork and told her to go home at 6pm because she was not need it after completing showers. Also said that she was really good and put on her paperwork she left at 10 and signed it. The story they kept giving out kept changing. Martha didn't want to talk to my sister, so now this causes me to step in. This not okay with me and we will be getting a Nurse attorney involved and going to state. I have an issue with the school's student success department. You would think a school receiving an average of 60,000 per Bachelor of Science degree would be a little more responsive. However, that is not the case. Nobody ever answers the phone during business hours. You receive a message stating that you will receive a response within 24 business hours which really means that they can take up to 3 days to respond to you based on their operating hours, and that is if you catch them earlier on in the week, which doesn't work out if you have a scheduling issue or are under time constraints. I had a student success coach named Melanie Caro, whom I left multiple messages with and rarely saw a response. Now I have no assigned student success coach, and I am forced to deal with a department that lacks response time and common sense on fundamental scheduling issues. I often question why I even bother attending this school. Why not take my money elsewhere where I am valued as a student and customer and can get the assistance I need? Front range community college is discriminatory against disabled people, classist, and invades your privacy. Were you aware of the fact that COVID is a mass disabling event ? What this means is that many who contracted it have “long covid” and other lasting effects after the virus has passed. Many people are now considered disabled. It’s horrible and sad. The individuals at this institution use “Honorlock” for certain online classes, this is a system in which, a web extension has access to a number of important information and data such as passwords to their sites, screen sharing, history, and cookies. Now this is the first I’ve seen of it and I’ve been attending a number of different classes here , online and in person. This is a violation of one’s privacy and also extremely ableist. They do not care about disabled people at this institution. Certain disabilities require a certain type of care. This honorlock system is humiliating, as they require a 360 scan of the room you are in amongst other bizarre requests. Like yes I would totally love for someone to see my heart monitor and IVs in my arm. NOT. This is humiliating and degrading , I feel like a circus freak being shown on display. Also some of us disabled people can’t lift the computer or laptop long enough for this 360 scan to happen. As well as this, the program is extremely classist. Not everyone has a home that is okay to be seen on camera (parents may be hoarders, addicts , etc)… and then to have this on display for a number of people to see is NOT okay. They do have an in person testing option, but this is NOT accessible due to certain disabilities and conditions (heart monitors, controlled temperature, autonomic dysfunction, need for IVs and other medical equipment). Also some can’t afford rides and other necessary things to get to the school in the first place. Living as a disabled person is already hard enough as is. Add trying to get an education to it and financial barriers, AND these idiots invading privacy and treating disabled people like second class citizens in the name of “honorlock”. Truly cringe. FRCC has issues. As with most places. But the good definitely out weights the bad at least in my experience. The staff are all for the most part good and have a pretty good handle on their classes as they are least treat you like a person and not a bank account. I only had one bad teacher from the English department but that's ok. The environment is great. Most of the people there are split between post high school students who are working to get better grades or adults who actually give a sh*t about their education. Most people keep to themselves at least, so if you work better in the environment that pushes classroom success over increasing social media then you'll fit in. The school looks nice and although it can feel like one long hallway, it at least feels welcoming. The cost is hit and miss. Most financial aid is applied and helps but dealing with the people can be difficult. If you can get everything taken care of online and not interact with the staff in that office as ouch as possible you'll be for the better. The counselors are also bad. Taking very little interest in you and just throwing classes at you to the point that you don't really know why this is in your degree and you end up wasting what should be a 2 year degree, gets turned into 4. At least you're learning stuff I suppose. FRCC is a mixed bag but leans more positive despite the issues..kevin whiteford

Military veteran information. I am a USAF veteran attending FRCC under the VR&E program. I am halfway through my fourth semester. This college in my experience and from talking with other veterans I have met on the campuses, FRCC has in my experience a small and or almost non existing veterans administration department/program. They have rooms offered for use by veterans paid for by our government almost certainly to this private institution, but offer little to no services. There is no active club for members. I have been misled and blatantly lied to by one individual who introduced himself as the Westminster veterans representative. There is no communication and only one representative who is available only two days a week, he is a great advisor and a great guy and not my issue. I am very disappointed in this college as a USAF veteran as I have had very limited assistance and always late results in everything VA related, from tuition to the bookstore and even my bah. Think twice and or ask many questions before you use your hard earned and well deserved benefits at this college, maybe you will get answers I could not. This is by far the worst most unprofessional educational institution I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I wanted to take a CCNA certification course so I went to speak to adviser to get more info and to get a quote for tuition so I could save and avoid financial aide. When I spoke to the adviser (Misty) she quoted me for a 3 credit class and told me to sign up in November. When I came back in Nov, she could not get me registered into the class. She called the director of the program (Eric Vahling ) for assistance but he never answered her. Note, in the month prior I sent Mr. Vahling multiple emails and left voicemails and he would never return them. I had to camp out of his office and catch him to get help, he told me there was not enough interest so the class was off, sucks I had to hunt the man for that info but whatever. i enroll in another school, 2 weeks before it starts, Eric calls me to say the class is back on and to sign up asap. The class didn't let me sign up, I had to get Misty to override me into a class that wasn't full. 2 days later, Eric emails the class and lets them know an adviser must enroll us, THANKS! So class starts and I got to pay tuition to find it is 4x what I was quoted. I call Eric to inquire, no answer, I call his boss, Victor Vialpando, no answer. i show up at Victor office and find him, he says the adviser quoted wrong and there was nothing I could do and to go file a grievance, THANKS. I got down to financial aide to confirm and they say I have until the 6th, then I check my syllabus and it says the 4th, now I have 3 different dates so i'm confused. So I ask Denise in financial aide who else I could talk to if the dean and director didn't help and she gives me the number for the dean of students and vice president. I called them and the vice presidents assistant David did try to help, he was my first good resource so far. A weekend passes and I decide if all this has happened before the class started, I better withdraw and avoid further mess. I try and it says I can because i'm too late despite my syllabus and course schedule saying different. I rush to the school and see Rebecca in advising, I gave her the documentation showing the withdraw date had not passed and she got me withdrawn, Rebecca was a big help in this process. I urge everyone to look elswhere when it comes to a school, lower admin is not concerned with students and their success. Eric Vahling should not be responsible for any students educational career in any form or fashion. Ms. Reyna Anaya, Rebecca in advising, John Young and David Murphy were the only people who even cared enough to listen to what i had to say. There are plenty of other schools that have your best interest in mind, for the most part this school is not one of them. With all the foreign students at this school, Im sure many have been screwed over by the lack of attention displayed by faculty here. I will do everything I can to steer people away until they get their act together, not sure who to report this stuff to but ill figure it out. They still have my account under another students name after I informed them of the error months ago. The school has two campuses, both in aurora. It's very nice looking and the staff is usually helpful on your first day there. The classes are a good size and its always a hit or miss if you get a teacher that actually knows how to teach, but that is at every school. I would advise you be prepared to be on the phone for 30+ mins if you have any questions and lots of miscommunication after your first day. This school has the potential to be great if it would take the steps to train their employees to know how to do their job. I was told several different things about the steps i needed to take next in order to receive my financial aid, i was lied to about the amount of time i had to find a work study job, and when i finally found a job i was told i was over qualified. Please tell me how a student is over qualified for work study…. Staff seems to play around and chat with each other more than paying attention to students who need help. You would think students being an employee of the school would make a difference. It appears to me that some students are honestly there to just have fun and not help other students out. I needed to talk to a student to get information about one of my extra curricular activities and not one of them knew what to do. It took two weeks for me to get the correct information i needed. And after expressing my frustration with one of the staff members in charge, they shot back at me as if it was my fault that their staff didn't have the knowledge to help me succeed even though that is there job. It makes me wonder if these things are the reason their drop out rate is so high. Not being able to get a human being on the phone to know how to accept loans for school is the very first problem. If you can't help students accept their payment forms for college how are they going to even be motivated to go? CCA needs to do a better job of caring about its students and who it chooses to higher to work there.Kendice W

The most unprofessional college I have ever attended. I worked in the Veterans office and didn't get paid for two months (2015), due to my boss not sending in paperwork. Veterans were also not getting their paperwork or payments. I returned for tax paperwork to give VA disability and they just have "no record" of me. However, I have documentation and proof of the year I worked there. I went through the Veterans Office to get the paperwork, waited 2 whole months with no return call and physically going into the office three separate occasions. Next, I talked to two different ladies in HR (I won't mention names), she was supposed to give me paperwork that just stated I worked there, not even the paperwork I needed, that was 4 weeks ago. This college really tried to cover up the incident, and years later it is still affecting me due to not being able to get the proper paperwork from them. The only good thing about here is the classes are cheap, but they also are at the rest of the 13 community colleges in network.Anna Smith

This is a community college, not a university, I expected there to be some ups an downs. My teachers are hit and miss, but I feel even at a university that is still a strong possibility. For a school like this you don't really need the teachers to be stellar, a lot of the work is very doable if you put any kind of effort in, most of the required text alone will tell you everything you need to know about the class. Now, for a community college there's some amazing things they pull off. There have been noble peace prize winners visit, travel study like the civil rights road trip, community programs that tie into school curriculum…The teachers who do take their jobs seriously will see that you use the coursework set before you be applied in the real world. The campus and environment feels welcoming and of course its cheap to go here. Now…not everything here runs as smoothly as you hope. The student clinic is barely open and the one time I did go they didn't even have a nurse to help me. The few times I have bee to the cafeteria the cooks didn't have enough food to serve, my first tour of the school the guide didn't know anything about the programs or services and if you need help with tutoring the available people are very limited on what courses they can cover. I've come to Red Rocks strictly to get my prerequisites out of the way and because I do enjoy learning. I don't make a lot of money and don't have a lot of resources. While I haven't explored everything available to me at Red Rocks I have enjoyed the experience. Coming here does mean teaching yourself to an extent, but it can be beneficial, if anything I wished I enrolled sooner.mendez5525

Went to Red Rocks for 3 years before graduating from Mines 2 years later. College has made my life so much better and I owe most of my education to the teachers here. They helped establish the base of knowledge which was rigorously tested at Mines. The best secret I can let you all in on, is that the teachers at Red Rocks were far superior in their teaching skills than at Mines. Many times Mines classes were taught by mid 20’s grad and doc students who never taught or had a desire to teach but finances and degree programs force them into it. Not to take anything away from Mines, its a great place to finish your education, just giving the inside scoop on something I wish I would have known before transferring. The teachers at Red Rocks are professionals, they love to teach which is why they teach at a community college. 11 out of 10 for really caring and being dedicated to education. Semesters and teachers have their ups and downs but overall my experiences at Red Rocks will always be one of the greatest and most fulfilling chapters of my life. The teacher are super great! I liked the online curriculum, the accounting is unprofessional. They sent notice to my parents (who I don't live with) that my scholarship was getting cancelled for lack of credits, I got a opportunity at work and had to drop classes. My parents reached out to me letting me know and I reached out and found out that I had a 3k bill due and it was affecting my credit score and my scholarship had been cancelled, I never got notice on my personal email or a phone call. Now I don't have money to take classes next semester, my credit score is down 30 points and i don't have food to eat for a week. I am 19 and you would think a collage would be dedicated to helping set up students for life would have better communication with there students. If I was given more notice I could have had more than 3 days to put together 3k and could have prevented getting the scholarship cancelledRiley Burns

I’m am currently in my last year at MSU and I am going to be graduating with nothing but resentment and hatred towards this university. You are constantly belittled with the political opinions of the administration’s, sending you useless emails and phone calls on their political views. The fees within the university are confusing and almost impossible to understand/find information about. If you have classes on campus you pay for parking every day (currently around 5-7$ depending on where you park) which means you are gonna be paying around 500$ a semester just in parking. MSU has no regard for the safety of their students refusing to close campus even when other school districts/ universities in the area do for bad weather or threats (Sol Pais threat). The overall academics of the school are average with most of the class sizes, professor ratings and knowledge, and degrees being pretty good. Then there is Student Success Center that holds the admission and financial aid for the university. I have not had one single semester since entering this university were some problem has not arisen with financial aid (forms that they have lost, slow processing speed, inaccurate dispersement dates) so if you are paying for college with any type of loans be prepared for your loans to be delayed and mismanaged for about a month or sometimes two. The campus itself is quite pretty being in the heart of Denver however it does bring a lot of traffic from Denver as well so there is a police reporting an incident almost ever other week so I’d be cautious at taking night classes. Along with all this, in the middle of the COVID pandemic MSU has raised their tuition meaning that you will be paying more for no in person classes, never seeing/ using the campus or amenities (which by the way you pay for also in fees) , and some professors who barely know how to use a computer. In the end this is what I’d say about MSU Pro: Still cheaper then CSU and CU Pretty but somewhat dangerous campus Close to Denver Average academics Con: Terrible administration Terrible management Bad parking and parking cost Hidden/ confusing fees If I could start over I would have spent the more money for a well run university CSU, CU, UCCS, UNC or save a bunch of money and going to ACC Hope this helps everyone understand what you are walking into.Eric Robinson

60% of professors are good, the other 40% are nothing compared to my high school teachers (Cherry Creek HS). That’s sad. 75% of staff need to go to the 60% of professors that are incredible and get some common sense and etiquette. Literally act like little prepubescent teens. I had a staff member I have never even met In my life email me about some weird opinion she had of me. You’re a grown woman and you act like this? Were you raised in a barn? Staff act like this at a university and they wonder why student engagement is down? Studies have shown a direct correlation. Even in one of my classes I had a professor share with us a study about the same issue. Use your own databases to figure that one out. I wonder how many staff members it would take to figure this one out… RIP MSU Denver. The dream of creating an actual university is there, but you guys are far from it 7 years later. Still act like a low level state college. Way to represent Denver like this. I was born here and am embarrassed for you. (Response to University reply that disappeared below) No thanks. I have a laundry list of issues that need to be resolved. I go talk to this person that person than this person than that person. Take a guess how many issues were resolved? None. You guys do not put the student first. You guys allow staff members and teachers egos to rule above policies and practicality. If you are looking into moving to Colorado like most of the US right now, do NOT come to this university. There are much better colleges in this state that are a better bang for you buck. This college is growing too fast for its own good and the students are the ones who must take the blow. I am at senior level now and have been lied to by more than one advisor in regards to which classes I need to be taking in order to graduate. I have spoken with the chair of the accounting department to have my situation corrected and the best excuse that he can come up with is that he can't bend the rules for any student. Mind you that all I have done was listen to the accounting advising department to have them schedule my classes. YOU CANNOT TRUST ANY ADVISOR IN THIS INSTITUTION! So instead of being able to graduate in the spring, I will have to push out my graduation a year. It's like I'm being punished for listening to the advising department when its their job to help students stay on track to graduate. I usually don't write reviews but I had to speak out on behalf of how I was treated. If you plan on going here, you must ask at least three people before you make any decision. They can't even hold their staff accountable for their actions and the student must pay the price for their mistakes. Very sad situation but I'm not the only that this has happened to. Amazing school ran by staff that will go out of their way for their students in order to be successful. The campus is small but it creates a family oriented environment between staff and students. On campus there are great labs available to practice skills. The school does an amazing job with clinical placements for students. The campus is diverse among students and there is no prejudice. There is no requirement on religion to attend the school, they are welcoming to all students. The school offers three great programs for nursing, sonography and radiography. All of the lectures are recorded and posted online that allow students to review lectures anytime, and the school offers free tutoring. If you are someone who likes smaller classes and like to form personal and professional connections with staff and peers then I highly recommend this school. They will do everything in their power to set you up for success.Andrea Manio

This is a great school ran by wonderful people. It offers multiple programs for the medical field. They are harder than other programs but from what I hear from graduates, they come out much more prepared. The staff here will quite literally bend over backwards to help you with anything. They really want you to succeed and are willing to do a lot just to help you do so. I have had some troubles financially but they are very willing to work things out so that you can stay in the program and not hve to come back at a later date due to that. I personally am not Adventist or religious at all and I have never encountered any sort of prejudice toward myself or others who are not. The university actually has quite a diverse campus and is super welcoming to everybody. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get into nursing, sonography, or x-ray.McKade Clark

This school preaches about not giving up on students, and they gave up on me. They also play favorites with students. They dont discriminate you to your face, they are passive aggressive. Especially if you do not believe in the same stuff they do If you are the cookie cutter image of a Christian/Adventist then this school is for you. If you are not Christian or super religious then this school is not for you. THEATHER SALLEY

Went to school here for electrical engineering but got an internship with the civil engineering department. The internship ended up being a joke ran by a man who was very petty. When I tried to talk to the head of the civil engineering department he ended up being equally as petty. It soured my idea of what an engineer should be. Now I am 100k in debt and I despise engineering. They are also very good at losing paperwork at the bursar's office and financial aid office. The one good thing was working for the school in the machine shop. I learned a lot from the people in that area and they seemed to be the only people with any sense in the whole building. They also never had the supplies needed for the labs. A summary of a day in class at UCD was a quick class where you really didn't learn anything and you would go home and teach yourself. There really was no point in going to class. If one did graduate they may use 5% of what was taught in school in their career. With the abundant access to data in today's society, college is pretty much out of date and irrelevant at this point.Denny Dunn

I enjoy the institution, the professors are great but their parking garages are a disaster and it makes no sense to charge students over $500 per semester for a “full -time” gold parking pass like they’re about to get exclusive access to certain parking garages and find parking super easily. You’re not. It’s a battle to find parking especially in the Tivoli garage during certain times which is classified as a “gold passport” garage. Too many students are paying for parking on their own without passports and using the garages that are promised to people who buy passes. It’s not fair and also some classrooms seem to have a few maintanence issues. Other than that it’s a pretty cool campus but I also don’t understand how there are classrooms with over 30 people in a tiny little 400 square foot room if that lol get this fixed we pay way too much money as students to deal with things like this.mgmt (Sam)

It's difficult to describe how utterly terrible this institution is at communication and technology. It's as laughable as it is frustrating. The staff, namely admissions, were ineffective, uninformed, slow, unresponsive, and occasionally deliberately obstructive. The IT department is a disaster and even included a complimentary data breach! The professors I had (admittedly only two) were nice enough, but the logistics were particularly clunky. Save yourself money and headache and go to Metro. It's cheaper, the admissions and onboarding were much simpler, the departments were helpful and responsive, and with two exceptions, the professors were very good.Caleb Efta
