I would not recommend this school. There wasn’t any heat in our classrooms the entire winter. Students had to bring their own heaters and we only could plug up 2 with out blowing out the circuit. (They also have a heating and cooling program ) There still isn’t any soap in the cafeteria. Some one put water in an old soap dispenser, and over 100 students share that. The ST (Surgical technician) instructor is rude and unprofessional. I have documents, videos and dates of her yelling at me, cursing, threatening me and no one did anything to her. Actually, when I tried to report her, it actually got worse. I’m not the only one from this school…. or other schools who said the same exact thing. The man from financial aide will call, email and text you several times a day when you have to make a payment. The reviews are fake/ from employees themselves. Abcott Institute is a great place to help you with a career in the medical field. Abcott also have other areas to advance your career. The instructors are Helpful and encouraging. The Surgical Tech. Program with Mrs.Miller is great, she a firm and knowledgeable instructor. Working in the medical field especially the OR is no game, you are dealing with people lives!! The course is tough, at one point I wasn't so sure if I could finish. I talk to my instructor, made sure I studied more and did what I had to do to improve myself. Just focus and get what you need to get out of there. It’s a lot of foolery going in this school program not accredited and make sure when you pay for you certification test and pass get your money back because they will not mention it if you don’t and it’s included in your tuition. Gentle Hands Of Integrity was by far the best experience of schooling I’ve had. First I would like to mention my wonderful instructor, Ms. Woods, she was very hands on with every segment, she was extremely kind and genuine, and wanted her students to succeed the program. Secondly, the videos and equipment we used to learn each chapter were specific, up to date and modern which ultimately made understanding the material easier for us students. I would highly recommend Gentle Hands Of Integrity to anybody, even if you have no prior knowledge on becoming a CNA. Coming to G.H.I was the best decision my family made. We were looking for a family friendly atmosphere that was professional and efficient, and we found it here. I have a teenage son and a young Daughter and I wanted to make sure they stayed safe in the Summer while they played and swim. Unorganized and accent is too thick to understand. Mainly african Nigerian and etc there so they tend to grasp it easier. Fortunately i already knew what i was doing so even if i didnt understand what he said i was ok. Class is divided like high school ( not due to him) i suggest if you do go here then you should form a study group (you'll figure out what i mean) and study online as well. This experience was phenomenal. The program is fast paced but very informative. The teacher has a way of making sure we're retaining information and that the entire class stayed engaged and hungered to continue on our quest for knowledge. There's definitely pro's and con's of this place. The pro's would be that the things you learn for the 9 months that you're here are very relevant to what you will be doing in the field. The instructors (VA) are extremely knowledgeable in what they are teaching. Personally I felt my instructor personally cares about her students. The con's are more on the corporate side of this place. If something happens to you medically where you are not able to come in for the week (which happened to me) you are docked for the hours that you missed and you cannot make them up, and they can even kick you out if they desire. The whole signing up for Ross thing is very irritating, there's a lot of high hopes for things that are non existent. They give you 20-30 min for lunch (if you're lucky) and they offer no fridges or microwaves to keep your food cool or to warm it up, but they allow the instructors to use them in the teachers lounge which students (who are grown adults) are prohibited to use. This may not seem like a big deal, but when you have to constantly pack a sandwhich or eat cold left overs or buy fast food …it gets old very quickly. You also are NOT allowed to have any water or any other liquids in the classroom with you. So every time you're thirsty, instead of taking a sip of your water quickly, they make you go all the way into the "eating area" to get a sip and miss part of the lecture. Also, a lot of the assignments are very aggravating they make you feel like you're stupid (for example relearning simple addition and subtraction). I think Ross should evaluate their students knowledge a little more before paying $14,000 to do 1st grade math. Also as I was unaware, the program I entered into doesn't make more than $10-12 in the real world. Although the knowledge I've gained is super helpful, it doesn't help pay the bills and now I have student loans to pay off. Do your research before coming here. Also some advice to Ross Corporate, don't blow students phones up to get them to come in and sign up, it's very obnoxious and a lot of the students complained about this. The staff is very kind, but this may be only relative to the Madison Heights location.Victoria Antonazzo

I’m a former Medical Assistant of Ross Medical I had Great instructors and The career advisors were excellent I remember Ms. Lucas was always there for me she guided, listened, give great advice I was placed at a facility that was challenging but with the help from Ms. Lucas I didn’t give up or quit this was my second time doing A Medical Assistant program I took years off in 2010 and when I re-entered the field I came to Ross.. I’m glad I made that call I wouldn’t of crossed paths with wonderful people. In the end the challenging facility didn’t want to let me go. Top Notch Education/ Excellent Staff I’ve learned more than I thought I would in this course. They go above and beyond for their students. You get hit with nothing but positivity as soon as you walk through the doors. The staff is great!! From the front desk to the skills lab! It’s a lot of information in a short amount of time but they give you all the tools you need. They are very precise and thorough when going through the skills and the modules, and explain why each one is important. They keep the class fun but very informational. They are genuine people who want to see you succeed in the class and be successful in life after the class is over. I attended classes here at Hazy Institute Of Learning a few months ago, the classroom portion lasted 7 days, and the clinical cite was another 3 days, Ms Chi Chi did her best and was very clear with the proper procedures and steps to get each skill done well enough to pass the CNA state exam. I took my CNA exam and passed both written and skills portion, UNFORTUNATELY, i will not ever recommend this school to anyone simply because of the lack of supplies. The class cost $500, and nothing was included, i mean nothing, not even text books, we were given old soiled text books that were not ours to keep, we were also to purchase our own uniforms, stethoscopes and blood pressure kits. But even with the full class size, and lack of mannequins to work on, the biggest issue came when we went to the clinical site. My first issue was the clinical site being located in Highland Park, MI. When i signed up for this class the light skinned heavy set girl in the office with the hair made it sound like the clinical site was around the corner, but it was located in another city on the other side of town. My second issue was when i went into Park Geriatric located in Highland Park upon entering the second floor there was a very strong odor of urine and feces. Very disappointing. Just when i thought the worst was over, They did not have enough wash cloths, towels, and bed sheets to get the job done. Just imagine, someone washing your mother, father, grandmother, grandfather with sheets. Just horrible. I'm not sure why Hazy Institute chose this as the clinical site, but honestly this place should be shut down. If I had the chance to take Ms Chi Chi class all over again i would not. She's very nice and caring (its obviously noticeable), but they either need to get more funding, raise the price, or something because since i didn't have text books to refresh my memory before i took the exam i had to depend on youtube… YOUTUBE! To help me to refresh the skills before the exam. So If you don't mind using soiled borrowed books, buying your own uniforms, stethoscopes, blood pressure kits, and going to a poorly operated nursing home, then by all means go here. But like i said if i had the chance to do this class all over again i would not go here. ever. This is my honest opinion, and my personal experiences here at Hazy Institute of Learning. I took the 2 week CNA training class with Mrs. Chi Chi last summer. Those two weeks were the worst weeks of my entire life. Mrs. Chi Chi definitely knows what she is doing but my goodness is she strict. She does not want your opinion, she does not care if you have an alternative better way of doing things, it's Mrs. Chi Chi's way or the highway. Literally, she kicked out nearly half our class before graduation. 1 minute late for class? GONE. Hand written paper instead of printed? GONE. Thong under uniform? GONE. Colored/patterned underwear? GONE (not kidding). Unnaturally colored hair? GONE. She is ridiculously strict and expects you to get it the first time and will point out your every mistake in front of the class. She was probably the nicest to me out of the whole class and I still would never go back. Also I signed up over the phone (I lived 3 hours away) and was told very many half truths, for example, the books are ours (they are yours to use, not to keep), the assisted living we were working at was 4/5 stars and very nice (this place was a hell hole. I would never let a loved one of mine even step foot in there. There is no supplies, it smells like urine and feces, and the workers constantly yell at the residents and are quite mean), and I was told I just needed my birth certificate (come day of graduation I didn't get mine because apparently you need your social security card and mine was 3 hours away back home). This place was absolutely dreadful (I actually fainted in class one day because of how hot it was in there) but it is only $500 which is a lot cheaper than most. Lastly, Mrs. Chi Chi does mean well and wants you to succeed, just don't be anything less than perfect (but also not a buttkiss because she hates that too).Aly W

I absolutely loved my class. My class was pretty decent. We didn't have anyone getting kicked out talk less of anybody being a butt-kiss. Pertaining to the other 2 reviews, maybe they were the bad seeds of the bunch. I guess Miss Chi-Chi saw something special in them to keep them around, regardless. I myself had my own speculations about the class and Miss Chi-Chi took me as her own kid and made me feel like I was special. Even with my loud mouth, she still was able to humble me. I am ever grateful. Not everything in life is perfect. The price is cheap and the clinical facility may have been a little less than okay but the quality of training and experience you get from the clinical facility and Hazy is so genuine and rich! I've done this before for a YEAR for almost 5K. I'm proud to have come here and gotten a taste of real learning. In college, most of the books we buy aren't ours to keep ANYWAY. And if you see the nurses back in the day, they all dressed modestly. You don't have to dress like a party animal or behave like one to show confidence for your job. She's preparing us for places who may have such strict rules with better pay. She is the BEST! I don't care. She's just perf! I'd recommend any and every living, breathing soul to come here. Worst experience I’ve ever had. Julie is definitely a knowledgeable teacher but knowledgeable doesn’t make you a good teacher. Extremely rude and makes disrespectful comments. I spoke to her about turning in an assignment when she agreed to let me do so she proceeded to wait until the next day and said I couldn’t turn the assignment in then waited until the end of the program to withhold my certificate from me because of the assignment “I still needed to turn in”. Class experience was horrible if she had a problem with one student the whole class suffered. Allowed certain students to be disruptive but then complained about the class being slow and not “passing”. What instructor calls their class slow and we’re paying you our hard earned money? Very distasteful experience. Students weren’t allowed to talk ever! We’re grown people why aren’t we allowed to talk? Showed a skill one day and expected us to learn it within a day. The class wasn’t hard but some people don’t learn that way. She allowed one student to be on her phone all the time yelling and talking about court dates and warrants but it’s a no phone rule? Guess that only applies to people she doesn’t like. Student constantly made loud outburst as if she had a couple screws loose and it was allowed. I was recommended to this school and I will never ever return. I go back Tuesday to turn in the assignment that should have been accepted prior to receive my certificate. After I take my state exam and get my certificate I will be happy . Just because you’re knowledgeable and know the material doesn’t make you a good teacher she needs to learn how to talk to people and learn some basic interaction skills. You don’t have the patience to teach then don’t be a teacher simple! Never again.Honey Goldd

Read the reviews here when I first booked the class and was skeptical and nervous. But let me tell you, this school and class is amazing. It’s straight forward and if you have a problem with Julie or the school…..it’s you. I had a very stressful week with my car not working and being left on the side of the school and I had to go into money I was saving to buy a new car and make it back to class. I cried because somebody had broke into my car and also stolen my catalytic converter while it was out there. I had to wait to pay the tuition and Julie was very understanding of my situation. Julie is very outspoken and an amazing teacher. My only one issue is the fact that I would have PERSONALLY preferred at least one one on one session with her to practice the skills. 🙌🏽 Other then that I’ve been recommending this school to everybody.Maisha Floyd

EVERYTHING taught was taught in a way you can remember and apply. I graduated second in class and all because of the teachings. I do not recommend this site as a testing site, very understaffed and was there for 7 hours when written and skills took me less then 1 hour to complete but the proctor did the best she could due to the circumstances(I’ve did other testing sites and never waited that long)The waiting room was very small and filled and if you wait in the lobby you get told to return to the small waiting room with no seating.
