My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I am thankful for you all. Anyone who wants to go to college for Business or just in general, go to SJVC. They got you covered and they support your every step and decision. They help you become ready for excellency and, help you find a job that you will love and if that job doesn't work out for you they will go over and above to help you succeed and find a position you want and love. I'm in the midst of the program and just love it!! The teachers and staff are fantastic and it feels like they have become my extended family. They care and want you to succeed. They offer many resources to help if you hit a road block. It's a very professional environment and they continue to train you on maintaining professionalism. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

I went to Delaware County Community College part time for four years after high school. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I really didn't know what I wanted to do right out of high school and I didn't want to go to a super expensive university and still not be sure. I started out with general studies. I just finished my Liberal Arts associate's degree there this past spring. I enjoyed my time at this school. I got to take a lot of different classes to really figure out what I like and what I dislike, and it's way more affordable to do that here. The campus is beautiful, especially the STEM center. There's lots of helpful services and the professors I had were great. I'm now transfering to another school to study graphic design and I feel like DCCC helped me get on the right track. I would highly recommend this school to everyone!Natalie Cellini

The cost isn't horrible and the classes are similar to classes offered by four year universities. The problems I have lie with the administration (financial aid, career center, cashier office.) They do not know how to deal with students in a timely, concise manner. I was unable to get in and complete a single course for the last two years due to administrative problems, even though I had been with them previously. I went here from fresh out of high school from 2016-2019 and graduated there with my associates. Such a Beautiful campus and I had a very great experience at DCCC, I’ve had some pretty good professors during my time there although some did seem to only be there for a check. During my time here I was also in the KEYS program and they have such wonderful staff very helpful and friendly. This is a really good school if you’re all about your academics. I’ve had my good times and my bad times here at MCC. Overall on the academic side of MCC I appreciate all of the hard work that most of my professors have done. There are professors here that definitely need to be more qualified with what they are teaching as it has affected my grades when I’ve taken their courses. I am an Honor student here at MCC with a GPA of 3.30 and have never once had an issue with organization skills until my 2019 spring semester. A couple of the professors have been unorganized, no syllabus and sometimes they have other priorities when they have to teach a class in other words they put another professor in place when they have to go to another job. Although these were a couple of issues within my time here at MCC I enjoyed the experience of learning new knowledge for my future career. I really liked a lot of my professors but a couple of them have been a little rough. If you communicate with your professors about your issues that you’re having it really helps and shows that you’re determined to do your work and it shows you care about your work as well. Environment wise I’d have to say it’s not healthy (mentally/physically) and or good for many people. There have been students who have left garbage all over the place and don’t clean up after themselves which leads to maintenance having to clean it all up. With my time here I have helped maintenance clean up other people’s messes so they don’t have to worry about it as much. Also the amount of vaping, drug use, and underage drinking in the lounge is unacceptable and nothing has been done to take care of this issue except shutting the lounge down. I feel as if this does nothing but illustrates that they can go elsewhere within the college and do these things. An authority figure should really take this into consideration and do something about this because it affects others who have nothing to do with these people and it ruins people’s Health. You can smell weed from a mile away and if people have asthma or a health condition this could affect them physically. I do not appreciate this at all and I wish something was done about it. The other big issue environmentally is the fact that the main cafeteria can get very loud and some students have no manners and do not respect others around them. If they are asked to quiet down they do the opposite It has gotten to the point where a lot of people have complained and yet nothing is done to prevent this from happening again. The college needs to have some control over what students do and take action on these issues. I wish that there could be some changes here and I hope for the best for everyone at MCC. Overall it is a good school for your academics but is definitely not a mentally healthy place environmentally. Even if you try to get away and go somewhere else for privacy somehow drama follows behind you. A Tip would be after your classes go home if you can or go to the back of the library in the quiet study room. So I will start with sharing my positive highlights of the fall semester during covid. Some teachers were empathetic to the situation the entire nation went through. Prof. Muldoon did such an amazing job touching base and gaining clarity of students frustration and technical difficulties during this time. Prof Diane. Hillyer OMG if I were ever to be a college professor I’d want to have her passion and dedication. She’s a math angel, truly loves her job and her videos were perfect! Now chemistry online and labs online were a joke!!! The professor did not make enough office hours, used YouTube videos from other teachers, used repetitive templates for each week lesson with no data. If I wanted to learn chemistry that way I could’ve honestly gone on Edx.org for FREE and probably have learned the curriculum better. I might of missed 1 assignment and handed in 1 assignment 10 mins late and didn’t receive the grade or support needed. But unfortunately as a paying student I just have to deal with it, 2k down the drain! Funny thing I am also a teacher during covid and actually work in the building with student and never would I have ever made my students feel isolated like this professor did. I’ve never seen or heard my chemistry teachers voice but I’m pretty sure they got paid every two weeks while there’s probably many qualified teachers that could have done a way better job. I was warned about this professor but I learned the hard way. The school overall has a nice faculty and I feel like the majority do care. This is unfortunate when professor get so accustomed to a repetitive lifestyle because blackboard actually graded my exams so again not sure what some professor did during Covid behind the scene and so-called virtual teaching. This is a a good school to start or to get the credits needed for a post-Bach. I decided to go to a private school with a more dedicated team and more virtual teaching experience.Dignora Castillo

I was a potential international student and found Manchester Community College a great place to go. I called the first time and wasn’t able to talk to the responsible for international students but left my phone number and email. Umesh sent me an email saying he would give me a call. He did, two days later and was rude and impatient since the moment I picked up the phone and was acting like he was doing me a favor to call me. He said I should go back to my country and take my visa there instead of changing my status here, which is not up to him, was questioning how I was gonna become a student and more. I can’t even explain how rude and disrespectful he was to me who was just trying to make an appointment to go to the campus and get more informations in person about fees and the I20. This college as a whole has been amazing. My instructors and the rest of the staff and faculty really care about your education. If I ever have any problems and I go to someone they either know the answer I am looking for or they will find someone who does. If I have any suggestions on how to make things better or easier for students they are always ready and willing to listen what I have to say and make improvements that will better students experiences. I wish I could further my education here farther than an associates degree because I have had such a great experience here. If you are on the fence, sign up! You won’t regret it.Danielle Lambrite

Amazing school. I graduated and walked already after my two years. Every teacher was supportive and there for me. You can just walk in to talk to an advisor (unless during semester start/end). Then it's by appointment. That is so much better than other schools. Osu only has very picky walk in times. MTC teachers put books in the library or I borrowed their copies so I spent nothing. They are friendly and the school is very pretty. Only a couple teachers were annoying, but every place has 1 or 2. I loved my time there.Molly m (YYH)

Do NOT go through this nursing program. Just take the few extra prerequisites that the other programs require and go somewhere else. This is the most unorganized program I've ever seen. They will reschedule clinicals and classes with absolutely no notice. They also give you lists of books to buy and change the required books the beginning of class. All they say when they mess up and change things around is "what do you want me to do, it's nursing school, you have to be flexible" it's nothing but frustration.Aletha Perry

This place is a perfect example of “you get what you pay for”. I attended September 2009 – May 2018 (with a 3 year gap from 2012-2015). The hospitality teachers and department head were wonderful, and a lot of my general Ed teachers were amazing too and I have nothing but great things to say about the teachers. However, the registrar office and academic advisors were a nightmare to deal with. No one ever smiles, my message NEVER got relayed to the right person, and it was such a headache to deal with offices equivalent to dealing with the DMV. They also claimed that when you graduate you can transfer your credits to a state college which is false. Some of the credits transferred, but classes like Math don’t transfer and I have to take a placement test to get into the same exact math class I took at Gateway and passed the class with an A. The bookstore staff was the most incapable, rude, useless group of people. Graduation was a completely unorganized joke – they told graduates to arrive 2 hours early to stand in a parking lot with no instruction and 1 porta potty for about 300 people. They also only announce 1 of your degrees – so if you have 3 degrees they won’t even take the extra 5 seconds to announce all 3 (I thought graduation was supposed to recognize your achievements?) I would have never wasted my time going to graduation if I knew how pathetic it would be. Parking on campus in New Haven was crazy and the lot constantly overflows into the Temple Street lot so you get to walk in stairways that smell like urine with bums roaming the lot and drunk people stumbling to their car after your class at 9:30 at night with no security guards to get to your car. Literally no security whatsoever like your completely on your own in a public lot in the heart of New Haven. Like most schools, they don’t allow weapons inside the building so you don’t even have a way to defend yourself if you get approached in the lot which will happen at some point. There were also hospitality classes that I had to buy things out of pocket and was promised reimbursement that never happened.Nina Tiso

I loved working with the children in the Early Learning Center, but the adults in the classroom didn't really treat me that well. They didn't really accommodating me that well when it came to tasks such as setting the table for breakfast,lunch, and snack. A coworker got nasty because I wasnt moving fast enough for her. I'm visually impaired and I have to take my time because of my vision. I had to complain about this coworker 2 times. Another thing that didnt make sense was I had to walk to the other side of campus to eat lunch for my 30 minute break. The teacher of the classroom would get mad at me for being late because I am a slow eater and I cant move fast again because of my bad vision. student teachers aren't allowed to eat in the teachers lounge. I shouldn't have had to complain to my boss about eating in the teacher lounge. This place needs to be more accommodating to student teachers with disabilities and staff needs to be more compassionate. I am very glad that I don't work at this place anymore! Beautiful atmosphere. I was in their old building on Long wharf years ago, and seeing how they've grown and progressed into what I consider a university now, is life changing for the people attending this college. For a community college, they offer so much for the students with assistance as well as their educational endeavors. Their cafe offers delicious varieties which includes a wide range of healthy choices. Very inviting environment for the students to learn in. Word of advice: try and transfer out of this ghetto school as soon as possible. It'll save you the headache. TAKE ONLINE CLASSES! That way, you will not have to deal with their crap. The only good thing you'll find about this school is the cheap tuition, some good professors if you can find the right ones. So far, I managed to have good ones. And a few nice students along the way. But the unprofessional, unorganized with the admins, staff, etc is a nightmare. I'm speaking from experience with the financial aid and trying to sign up for classes. They act like they don't know what they're doing. Not to mention, you try to be friendly and they give you attitude like you did something wrong. Plus, the staff and admins are incredibly immature and straight up bullies. When you ask for help, they will act irritated, rude or expect you to it yourself. You know that you are going to be around students all day long, and if that is something you cannot handle or deliver civil professionalism, then why are you working here to begin with? Oh yeah, because they just hire anybody, and just hungry for a paycheck. Oh and also, people just tell you different answers or just straight up lie to you. If I had the choice, I would not spend another semester here for another minute. They really need to do something about this ghetto, unprofessional, unorganized, low class school and hire better admins, staff, etc too. I'll be so glad when I'm able to leave this school because I will not miss it. I'm sticking to my statement that Virginia schools are better. Also, another thing to add is that the advisers do not know how to do their jobs! They are just there for the title, so know what YOU want and YOUR plan, because these advisers will just tell you anything. In addition, they will act so conceited to make you look stupid. That's why I'm going with my own plan, and I can't wait to leave this school in the spring of 2018. It has been nothing but very poor. They just want your money. This school is nothing but a joke. I hated this college including all staffs, administration and president of this college I had many issues with back when I was attending this college. Yes, I graduated in 2004, made very high grades and achieve my goals, but the President of this college did nothing about my situation. She failed to do her job claiming that she will not bar a student for harassing me. She is very lucky I did not sue her before I graduated. Other people has complained about allowing non-visitors attending to this school for no reason. This brings a major concern about safety. I would advise no one attend to this school. It sure has very poor administration. I do not care what that president said, she is a very poor administrator. I am glad I am moving out of this state and I will be a excellent administrator this president of this college. We need to hire new administrators in this college and make changes in this college and other schools. I wonder why there are so many bad reviews about this school. It's not as bad as I thought or as I read. Yes, I did have a bad impression at first because I was supposed to take four courses, now I'm taking three because of their carelessness. But that's the only problem I've encountered here. My professors are good. I read bad reviews about the financial aid also but there was no problem with my financial aid and everything went smoothly. Overall, this school is not so bad. First of all, I have no connection to Cedar Crest College. I did not attend school nor do I know anyone that attended school there. On June 7 2018 I made a journey to the Lehigh Valley to photograph the campus of Cedar Crest College in Allentown Pennsylvania. I was inspired by a vintage early 50’s video of the school that I saw on YouTube. When I arrived I was not disappointed. The campus is so well manicured that it almost seemed like I was exploring a country club. Parking was easy and the campus was easy to find. My self-guided tour took me to all points on the campus from the aquatic center to the Da Vinci Science Center. I would like to come back to the science center when it is open. The centerpiece of the Cedar Crest College campus is Blaney Hall. The historic old building photographed well and it is surrounded by gardens in bloom. I saw the theater, cafeteria, and the art gallery. The art gallery is open limited hours and I was not able to go inside. The theater was also closed but the cafeteria was open for business and the prices were great. Cedar Crest College is 151 years young and it is truly a gem in the Lehigh Valley.Richard K

Honestly the worst school for nursing. So many people get kicked out of their school for pointless reasons. You have a better bet going to a different nursing school in the area. Cedar Crest nurses are always unconfident even when they are knowledgeable because of the environment they’re put in. If you ask working nurses in the area, they’ll tell you that they’ve only heard horror stories from Cedar Crest. People only look at their pass rate, but not their drop rate and how many people they let go for nothing. They have to take proficiency exams every semester and have to score 90% or higher on things they have not been taught yet. Go to a school that doesn’t have that! More than four professors have left within the last year and there’s a reason for that. Some quit in the middle of the year!! All the students will tell you that there’s always broken or used equipment and that the staff never values mental health of their students. Students are expected to be at a doctorate level and teach themselves. This school is extremely unorganized and there are other places that respect their nursing students and encourage teaching!Emily Snyder

I am afraid of my daughter committing suicide over this school!!!! She is so stressed and anxious because they only care about the money. When over half the class fails a test it’s not the student as much as it is the teacher!! Barely anyone gets through the nursing program without failing… a few times!! She is in so much debt but I cannot talk her into transferring because she would have to start the program over! They expect the best of the best out of the students but have the worst of the worst professors!!! They should be ashamed of themselves! They do not tech you. They expect the students to teach themselves and to know what they are doing. If the students ask questions they are made out to feel stupid. Are you a working individual looking to earn a degree? Don’t go to Harrisburg Community College. This college uses Technology that is not easy to learn and I am good with Computers. Want to speak with a Advisor, well my advisor lives in South Carolina so I can only conduct a meeting via Zoom, the college is taking ALL personal interactions away. And working individuals…well i hope your not trying to spend any time with family and friends because I leave my 40 hour week job and I do school work for 5-8 hours a night and on my weekends. Forget about spending anytime with my wife and three children….I am taking 3 classes. Don’t ask the teachers a question, they just refer you to the syllabus…well clearly I am asking you a question because I didn’t understand it. I am military, yesterday I had duty and i didn’t get my project submitted, I logged in tonight to submit the project and the instructor removed the instructions, and locked the drop box so I couldn’t submit the assignment. I could keep going but I don’t have time…if your a working individual, don’t fall for the things they tell you.William Bricker

If I could give this institution a lower than one star rating, I would. For a community college, the course costs, books, and fees seem to be immense. I had professors who took half or more of the class periods to talk about themselves, personal topics and politics. I’ve also had professors assign English paper topics about personal things and I imagine he laughed at the student’s papers later in his free time. The required intro to college class professor had us playing with popsicle sticks and jars of rocks and sand. The certifying official for the VA office submitted my paperwork incorrectly. I dropped my classes and incurred debt because of how poorly the education at HACC is. They seem to be all about the money and not the education or students. I can’t even request a transcript for my new school because of “debts” to HACC. I no longer live in Pennsylvania and I am now attending a MUCH better school, and I am very glad. I would never recommend this school to anyone. This is not a good school, don’t waste your money and time.SMK3181

Most professors are nice but my overall experience was bad. I went here to try to accomplish a 2 year degree but every time course selection came around they didn’t have the classes I needed so I got stuck taking hardly any credits each semester. The majority of advanced classes are online only. They offer almost zero advanced courses in a classroom. So happy I made the decision to transfer. Not to mention how every time I scheduled a meeting with an advisor it either got cancelled without notice or they changed me to a new advisor who could not give me a single piece of useful advice.Kate

i have an associates degree from a previous college plus attending the university of Scranton for a year and appearing on their deans list. Going to Lackawanna was def a step back for me. I was accepted into the surgical tech program and thought it was my lucky break. First before I go into the details of the program I’d like to say that the professors I had besides the surgical tech (while nice) mostly read off of powerpoints , which we students can do ourselves…. the tests were up in the air as to study what. They expected you to read a whole chapter (science) and retain every critical detail. The surgical tech program was a nightmare. Not because it was hard, but because the teacher, Purnell created a very hostile environment. She would teach the skills once and expected you to get every step correctly the first time. She loved berating students and while the course is very serious because one deals with infection prevention she seemed to forget that just because she knows the skill that we were still learning, all the while being out of touch with updated surgical technology like instruments and procedures and new sterilization techniques.She definitely had her favorites and if you weren’t one you’re going to know you’re not. Snatching and cursing is one of the many ways she’ll teach you. I had heard from previous students she had worked in McCann school and was known to throw objects around whenever she was frustrated with students. While I was going through personal problems n didn’t do as well as I’d like , I decided to quit the program because honestly, you can’t learn from someone who doesn’t want to teach. If you can find the surgical tech program in another school… go there insteadRamses Bracero

DO NOT GO HERE FOR CYBER SECURITY, or any online classes for that matter. TL:DR You dont get support or help with anything important. If you want this level of education buy a CCNA study guide on Udemy. The online classes will not help you in any way. It is up to you to find the external resources to help. There is no "hay I need help with this", you are completely on your own. I am stuck at this school because I cant afford anything else and yet this is still a complete scam. I have gone through just about 2 semesters and this school can't provide as much as a zoom call. They have nothing technology related for any elective. So a majority of your classes aren't related to cybersecurity in any way. I have had to take a criminal justice class, and a macroeconomics class. Wasting both my time and money. This state has much better schools, however they are a lot of money. Do your best to get a scholarship and get out to them for cybersecurity. Don't get stuck here at this college. If you want to receive a degree anytime soon DON'T GO HERE. My friend has been working for his associates degree and had 4 finale classes to finish. He passed 3 of them with all A's and on his 4 class receive a D because of a computer mix up and receive 5/50 on two assignments even though they were turned in on time but the assignments were flipped. Not only did the teacher give him that grade when he realized the mistake and emailed her about it but she also waited till the very last minute to grade everything in the class for everyone. This was the last class he needed and now has to wait a whole year to have a chance to receive his associates degree. This is crazy and I want the school and the public to know how infuriated I am about this. There is no reason anyone should be treated like this. Just want to point out that the claim on them allowing you only one plate of food is big time bogus. I went there this year and had no problems. I could go into the cafeteria five minutes after I just ate and buy 10 drinks and 3 burgers and not once did they tell me no. (No I am not that much of a pig but you get my point lol) The enrollment was a little wonky. Would recommend buying books from somewhere else though because the books are pricey. My instructor was down to earth and by and by the best person you could ask to teach you to weld. The enrollement staff here is really unorganized. Over the summer I called everyday. Everyday I would not get a response. The business office likes to get you to pay more money than you owe. The bookstore has ridiculous prices. Definitely go to amazon first. The food is the same thing every day, and you are only allowed to have one plate. That's the bad. The good. Very beautiful campus, teachers are willing to help with anything you don't understand. The classes are more hands on then out of a text book. Professors are easy to get ahold of.caleb hardie

Enrolled in PC Repair. One instructor was ok, albeit quite high strung, but the other one was very rude to me. One time he interupted what I was doing and at one point moved my hand of the mouse with his index finger just to change the time setting on the screen. When I needed help with something, I would ask for help and he just sat there at his desk and just ingmored me. Worst academic experiance of my life! don't learn computer science at EMTC.Eric Cotton

This school doesn't even deserve 1 star but that was the only option. My son has been denied into this school 2 years in a row even as a student! Last year he couldn't get in even after going through all the tests because the program closed. This year he applied as a student but wanted more if he could get more. I found out he doesn't qualify for a student because he graduates in May so we were told to apply for another program. He applied for another program going through a 2nd interview only to not get into a program once again!!! It is very disappointing because when someone wants to learn and told they can't it can discourage that child. We now are now forced to look elsewhere. I don't think he will apply here again because being denied twice…..it just shows you are not as invested in young adults learning as you say. Educating students that trade school is the way to go only just to shut the door in their face is extremely unprofessional. Not everyone wants to attend college but what do you do when college and tech schools are both not an option?waleta morgan

I had some riding experience but this class has helped sharpen my skills as a rider. It was a long 20 hour weekend but our instructor, Dennis Phillips, made sure to make the best out of it and taught the class extremely well. I was more than satisfied with how Dennis instructed and ran the class. Shout out to his wife for also giving us pointers. The bikes provided for the course were very nice and easy to learn on. this also was the cheapest course I’ve found around for a level one bike course, take it here! Dennis will take care of you. I don’t write a lot of reviews but really wanted to make sure everyone knows Dennis is the best instructor in the area, will keep everyone safe and have some fun while learning! I had a little bit of confusion in the beginning of signing up with my asbestos refresher course. Two ladies named Bobbi & franc ( so sorry if I spelled the names wrong) We’re just the mouse to help for ladies I have ever talk to in my life on the phone. They were very informational very supportive very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I felt like they went out of their way to help me and I am so satisfied with my purchase of classes at this school. Every year for my refresher course I drive down from Eufaula Oklahoma to take my refresher, I love the teacher I love the faculty I just don’t think they’re a better school!!! Honestly the faculty/staff is very unorganized for the surgical tech program. The only reason I went with this school is because they have many start dates, so when I inquired on the program it was starting the following month. Opposed to waiting 5-6 months to start elsewhere. This program is insanely expensive and definitely not worth the money (teachers/admin do not care about getting you information on time about your classes once you’ve enrolled/started the program. It’s very hard to get direct information.) You can absolutely find a program that is shorter and cheaper- will still get you NBSTSA certified. This school does accept Fafsa and sub/unsub loans. However the NYU program is only $15k but you need to pay in full before it starts and its a 15 month program. Swedish is about $45k of government money and it’s a 21 month+ program depending on how long it takes you to do clinicals. I don’t feel like I’m learning the job any better or faster than I would have at a different program. I feel like they are dragging out the curriculum to suit the needs of state funding requirements to keep getting the fafsa/aid, whatever. I wouldn’t recommend but everyone’s needs are different. I personally wish I would have looked into a private loan and gone to a different school so I could be done faster. Once you’re NBSTSA certified, it doesn’t matter where you went to school at all.j. “Jay” C

I am very pleased with the education received at the Swedish Institute. As a recent graduate I found myself excelling effortlessly. This school really prepares you and gives the students all knowledge, tools and resources to be a leading successful massage therapist not years after graduating but right after finishing school you are already right at the level of experienced therapists. The clients I am seeing now think I have years of experience from the results and the way my work feels and the information I give them when addressing their case or problem areas. My employers are incredibly pleased with my readiness and professionalism which the school really enforces in all classes. This is due in great part to the amazing experienced and active faculty members we are lucky to learn from and the extensive advanced curriculum in combination with an excellent clinic that allows us to get real experience which has come handy in my current practice. So if you take advantage of what this school offers, apply yourself and being a massage therapist is your calling, this is the best school to go to.Lia Gavilanes

I’m currently enrolled at the Swedish Institute in their Massage Therapy program and wow, I’m having a great time learning! My professors have been wonderful knowledgeable people with many years of experience in the field. They have a passion for both teaching and massage which makes class fun and inspiring. One of my first classes was 100% hands-on practice, meaning I began learning massage techniques during my first term at the school. The science courses paired with the hands-on classes come together beautifully as you learn about the human body and massage all together. I feel that by the end of the program you will feel confident and more than ready to start working as a professional in the field. The school is small but gives you a home-y feeling and a great sense of community. It’s a great place to meet and network with amazing like-minded individuals. Im really glad I found this school to pursue my ultrasound career. The teachers and staff were amazing, our ultrasound teachers were there for us 100% of the time. Mary Beth stayed after class and tutored me almost everyday for a few hours. The faculty at this school truly care about their students and the education they are receiving, they go above and beyond to help us achieve our goals. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to go to school for ultrasound. They have a variety of machines to learn on as well as phantoms. It’s very challenging but very rewarding, you get what you put into it!victoria arnold

I come for a massage every 2 to 3 wks and every student/massage therapist that I have had has been very professional, pleasant, knowledgeable and respectful but most importantly each person truly wants to be good at what they do! Great Lakes offers a wide variety of programs to get you started in the medical field. I toured the facility with the intent on becoming a nurse, but after seeing everything Great Lakes offered I am now working towards my associates in surgical technology. My husband and son are here this morning for a written driving test. Everyone here has greeted us, asked us if we need assistance, and has been thoroughly helpful. Even when we walked into the door to a common area, random people greeted us and asked if we needed help. I am extremely pleased and impressed, and I am honestly looking at their course catalog now. I have looked for 20 minutes trying to find information on medication aide class and I couldn't find anything. I called up here and they told me to get online and go here and there to find it. I already did that this is why I called. All I wanted was the price and hours and I still have no idea but she could have just told me on the phone instead of explaining which tabs to click on. Only my third month here studying the Medical Assistant program and I can genuinely say I love this school. What makes this specific Lincoln Tech amazing is the staff, never a gloomy day. I've had three different instructors and they are great, super personable and humorous, it really completes the learning experience. Coming from a 2 year gap of not being in school, I was afraid of how I would transition but they made it very smooth and fun. My time at Lincoln Technical Institute has been great. The teachers form close relationships with the students and personally help every student strive to be better. The small classroom setting and accelerated course can help you form close relationships with fellow students who will support you along the way as well. I've been calling about the associate in nursing program for a while. I always either get a voicemail or an unsuccessful transfer attempt. Very rarely do people call back. When they do, I get a crumb of relevant information, a promise to follow up, and then I can't get ahold of them again. I tried to get my transcripts evaluated, was told that FSCJ's anatomy and physiology credits most likely wouldn't be accepted because Fortis' anatomy and physiology classes are 6 credits each whereas FSCJ's are only 4. But the advisor assured me that my other general education credits should transfer. However, based on the same logic, my general education classes also wouldn't be accepted because they are 3 credit classes whereas Fortis' are 4-5 credits. None of this is confirmed of course since they never return my calls or emails about the transcript evaluation. This is a NATIONALLY accredited school. This means regionally accreditated schools (like University of North Florida), likely won't accept their credits. You will likely have to retake your general education credits if you decide to further your education. This is based on personal experience with nationally accredited institutions. And yes, every school has their own credit evaluation requirements and each school, whether regionally accredited or nationally accredited, can accept or decline credits as they are fit. However, this is especially important to consider when going from nationally accredited to regionally accredited schools. Keep this in mind before you spend $50-55k on an associate's degree here. That is what the associate degree in nursing program at this campus costs. I say this because they make it so hard to find that information online and you have to play phone tag with them to get an appointment scheduled to EVENTUALLY get this question answered. I had high hopes for this school, but it's been disappointment after disappointment and I haven't even started in the program. Schools, like everyone, want to make a good first impression but if this is their best, then I've seen enough.Katherine Eggers

I am so sorry to hear that others have had such a bad experience with this School. I can only speak for myself. My experience at Fortis College has changed my life. I was hired right off of my Externship and have been at my job since 2015. I learned a lot at Fortis and not one time have I had an issue educational or personal that I felt that the staff at Fortis did not hear and help me with……Every Teacher that I had was eager to step in and give me the extra push that I needed and I felt it was from the heart not about how much money the school could get. I now have Career not a job. I was chosen because Fortis College comes highly recommended at a lot of Employers Human Resource offices. If anyone has had a bad experience I am so sorry that you feel this way….but I myself never seen anything that couldn't be worked out at this school. As a matter of fact I am going back for my Nursing and I am excited because it is a smaller school and I feel that I will get all the help that I need to succeed. I am so pleased to have been a Fortis College student. From the President, Directors, Instructors to the staff have displayed great care about each of the students, in a very professional and informative manner. Each teacher has taken the time to understand the individual needs of the student, matches that with how the student learns best and truly cares about the students. This makes the learning environment flexible and adaptive. The school is large, clean, and following Covid protocol and this is important for me, they observe discipline, they know how to find an approach to each student. The staff are surprisingly very immature. I asked one staff to wear a mask when the COVID numbers were up and I was told to remove mine in an enclosed space and now I'm the last patient every time I come to be seen at Allentown office. Is this really customer service. How does the whole office become angry that I wanted to be safe. Very petty! Now, I can't plan anything after my appointment because I never know when I'm getting out of there! Im not coming back but I guess no one cares… But what they don't consider is, people read reviews….Naidean Alex

I started going to the Allentown office back in August of 2020. I was working out and eating healthy, (so I thought), and to my surprise I was not eating enough, and was not eating healthy as I thought. My metabolism also had nose dived….as I am starting menopause at 46. It is now January of 2021 and I am 50 pounds lighter and am in the best shape of my life!!! The staff are amazing and Dr. Scaffidi is a God send! I was steered in the right direction and now it is not a chore…but a lifestyle and it is definitely one I can maintain!!!Gina Callavini

I attended Penn Commercial for the esthetics program. I absolutely loved every minute of the program! The teachers are awesome and caring and do everything they can to make your experience wonderful! The entire staff has been so helpful and caring, they have gone above and beyond to help me get into school and even worked with me on the financial end so that I could get into this program and complete it as well! I love that it is so hands on and they allow you to get the real life experience of the work you will perform once you graduate. I appreciate the staff so much for all the help and support they have offered to me to allow me to become successful. Nursing program is @$$. The teachers talk horribly about students that ask for help. They allowed a student to say in the class after she was accused of laying her hands on patients at clinical. They use ATI to say their “passing rate” is good when in reality the students only know things from ATI, not the teachers. The DON is a quack. She will lose your important documents and force you to pay for new ones. She clearly shouldn’t be operating in the position she’s in. Please I didn’t listen to the people that told me not to attend her but anyone looking into this school… do not go here.Lola Flowers

Penn Commercial has an amazing Faculty & staff that genuinely cares! My Fiancé needed help with a back end Financial Aid process that is very rare and involved changes to be made to her Pell eligibility. The change is from a closed school discharge. Her FA Counselor Ryan Bazant was very engaged and helpful throughout the entire process taking ownership in every aspect! Thanks to his efforts she was able to get results that afforded her the ability to have less loan usage.
