Very well at allowing students to understand what is being taught, and provide all the basics when it comes to starting your college credits. The entering staff are knowledgeable in helping you find assistance in areas you aren't familiar with such as tuition, loans and grants. The book store has all the stuff you need to succeed. They have several cafes on campus. The student center is the campus hang out. They have pool tables ping pong and a wide variety of other clubs and activities to get involved in. The mini processing plant on site is a great hands on learning tool they have RIGHT THERE on campus. All of the professors are very knowledgeable and understanding. If you want to learn and earn college credits this is the place. They have an adult learning center for people to get their GED. They're performing arts center for people that like to perform or do arts. Like drawing and painting. Have a nursing program that is top notch. All your basic studies are covered by experience and helpful staff. They have all sorts of activities, and clubs. This cosmetology where they offer haircuts and manicures. They offer instrumentation as well as process technology. They have a judicial class for those that would like to learn about the criminal justice system. They do scrolling all year round even on weekends If you have a 9 to 5 job and can't make it to regular classes. There's athletic program basketball and volleyball, they have a swimming pool weight room and banquet halls for rent. They have several lecture halls on campus as well as outdoor picnic area or study areas. There are some campuses one in Baytown, McNair, and Liberty. So their service area can be reached. They also have helpful Access student resources answer questions about programs and are always willing to go that extra mile and help make student success their number one goal. I must say, the teachers are helpful and the classes are small-yes- but the support staff for the college itself (business office, counselors office, financial aid, ect) are the absolute RUDEST people I have ever met! I work full time, so I try to do most of my business with them via Email, Telephone, or Fax. When you email any of the support departments, they NEVER reply back, once you call them and mention "I emailed y'all a week ago but I never got a response back…here is my question" they just give you the run around, transfering you to 3+ people just to get a vague answer. Just today, I got cut off by the business office when I simply asked if I could pay for tuition over the phone. The "counselors" in the counselors office don't even remotely help you with your degree planning, each one of them will tell you something different so you are basically left to figure it out yourself and hope you get it right. I have talked to all different kinds of directors/administrators about these issues and they NEVER seem to be resolved. Point to my review is this is a good college just to get a degree behind your name, but be prepared to hit a ton of roadblocks/red tape along the way.Kayla W

Love the school, very understanding teachers & other faculty! I graduated from here my first semester of my senior year in high school before deciding to attend UT! Everything was okay all the way up until the 2020 graduation parade. When announcing my name, the announcer made a very uncomfortable mark about my dads corvette mentioning “Nice car where’d you rent that for the weekend?” I didn’t really notice until my sister played her video back after the parade. The car wasn’t rented, that’s HIS CAR FULLY PAID FOR! I didn’t like what he said and if I could see him face to face again any day, I would tell him African Americans can have luxurious and nice things as well! Some comments you keep to yourself! I feel as if most of the reviews given do not do justice to the University itself and to the incoming freshman's coming straight from high school. I chose to go to this particular university because my family engraved this stigma against large universities. "Smaller classes" are better because you will get a more personable experience with your professor. Also, growing up in a Catholic household, this was the ideal school for me. I was also drawn into the University for many other reasons. 1. I was drawn to the nursing program because it stated that all "incoming freshman's with 3.5 GPA's will have automatic admittance into the nursing program". 2. The scholarship I received in the mail blew my mind. However, little did I know that it would still cost me an arm and a leg to pay for me staying there. 3. The location because it is in the most beautiful part of Houston. 4. The friendly faces and helpful staff. I will never forget any of the professor's I have taken because they really are the most kindest people you'll ever meet. (most of them at least). I spent one year at UST and I can honestly tell you that I have gained some and lost some. I have gained great communication skills, great study skills, few great friends, and student debt. On the other hand, I lost one year of college, thirty thousand dollars, and valuable knowledge I could have further expanded instead of taking philosophy and theology requirements. I enrolled to UST intending to graduate with a nursing degree. I thought I gained automatic admittance due to my 3.5+ GPA in highschool. However, that was not the case because you must apply to UST first as a student, then apply into the nursing school at the end of the year (which is really competitive because there are only 40 slots and 100-200 students applying?). If I were to have known that I would have just gone to UTA where they do live up to that statement of automatic admittance with a certain GPA requirement. So I basically spent a year paying for graduate school when all I needed were pre-reqs that I could have taken at HCC. I remember signing up for ONE summer statistics class and the price totaled to $4,000+. People at UH spend $4,000-5,000 in ONE SEMESTER with 12 credits. Also, to all the feminist's out there, they pay male professor's more than female professors (for doing the same job). And that does not undermine the fact that the professors make less than the average salary while the president of the university makes more than the average university president salary? hm. With the tuition exceeding $30,000+ a year, it comes to show where the money goes to since you cannot see it on the campus. The library is out dated, the buildings are outdated, however the church is beautiful. I guess a really good thing UST does is how they offer amazing scholarships to veterans and police officers who serve. Another disappointment is the lack of student/campus life. This school seems to be more fitting for older students, not younger incoming freshman. There are not many active clubs or events like you would see at UTSA, UH, or any public college. It somewhat makes you lose the "college experience". However, they do offer retreats and study abroad opportunities. It is really inclusive to Catholicism, however it comes to no surprise as this is a catholic university. If you are financially well off, with money to spare for 6 extra classes (18 credits total) and smaller class sizes then this is the place for you. If you get admitted for free due to financial aid, then even better. Do not attend this school if you are an incoming freshman looking to experience college to the max. This university won't give you the opportunity to explore what you want, instead it will decide for you. And smaller class sizes will not make you pass, it is up to you to take that initiative. No matter how big or small the university is, it is your initiative that makes you succeed. All in all, it is an average school, just isn't the one for me.delol mko

The Cameron School of Business is great for anyone looking for a good quality MBA program in Houston for working professionals. They are AACSB accredited, which was one of my deciding factors in going to school here. Less than 5% off all business schools in the world are AACSB accredited according to their website. The staff is friendly, some of the classrooms could use updating, and the computer labs need a bit of an upgrade. The campus is really nice and was designed by Philip Johnson the famous architect. Overall the programs are good especially for working professionals. However, some of the finance, accounting, and other quantitative courses should be more challenging and require more Calculus, Diff Eq. more advanced statistics, etc. to improve the quality of the overall program.Tom Dantario

My teen had an appointment under DR Saba Memon. She practices cookie cutter medicine. I feel like she is following a checklist. She told me what my child is diagnosed with, and she will only start treatment if I jump through hoops, and make more appointments. I left feeling like she does not care at all about my child. I came for help and she refused. She discounts what the parents say and think. She is very dismissive and the other doctors disagreed with her. She did not take what they said into consideration. UT health should do something about her. I asked to speak to her supervisor and she inferred that she has no boss and her word is final. She told me he has ADHD, and I can provide documentation from his PCP and his therapist. I would like to know how to file a formal complaint. This level of care is unacceptable. I was seen at the neurology clinic at the University of Texas Health Science Center when I was considered a candidate for neurosurgery. I had to have a few tests performed before the neuro-surgery to make sure I fit all the criteria and that the brain surgery wouldn't have a catastrophic effect on me. All the neurologists I worked with were excellent, supportive, thorough with the exams and explanations, and very nice to me and my family. Staffs are useless. I do not want to pay a penny to them. They just blame students for every jobs they are mandated to do. They do not work if you do not check. Do not believe them but keep chasing it. All administrative works need to be done by yourself. Do not ask them because they do not know. Rather, ask other students. I really enjoy the student life here and most of the staff here is friendly, but overall the lack of professors and class schedule availablity is very disturbing. Classes that are available during the day is very limited and a majority are only offered at night plus a good 3/4 of the classes are taught by the same professors. The STEM department is very underfunded, I feel that this college is missing out on a big opportunity since the general area around here is next up and coming medical center (League City, Webster, Clear Lake, etc.). These two have been a big issue that have come up a lot when talking to other students. Another drawback of this campus is that you cannot graduate on time due to the lack of open class availablity. Also, this university is not a friendly parent student, so if you are a student that has kids I would look elsewhere. Overall, I feel like this is a very underfunded univeristy that needs a lot of improvement and it is sad to say that the community colleges are better than this one.Ashley M

Went to help move my daughter into her dorm/room on Saturday 1/16/21 & evryone we saw were very helpful, questions were answered & its been just a couple of days but my daughter has had an amazing experience!!! Update: unfortunately after the freeze we had my daughter was asked to go to hotel or back home (which was fine with me) until they "fixed" the problems that occured due to weather, the unfortunate thing is that it's so expensive to live there & YES she had help with financial aid but they did NOT give any discount even though she wasn't there for a month, not fair but oh well it is what it is..just had to write down the experience as part of my review.Jessica Ramirez

This University is trash. They can't keep professors, but their tuition keeps going up. Don't expect any help from your advisor because they won't be in your field of work and have zero clue about your major. They are business people only. The STEM department has drama in it so they are a mess. Expect to be in a class of 50 in a tiny room using garbage computer programs that are always expensive or vague and then not be able to receive any help from anyone. I really enjoyed the MA program and I learned so much. Something that I really appreciated about the school is that we had ALL the resources we need for certification studying–and all of the professors are extremely knowledgeable about their fields and gave plenty of tips and tricks for how to maximize your potential in the field. The biggest reason I'm sticking to four stars is that I had a pretty bad experience with one of my professors and I don't agree with some of the attendance procedures–having no absences excused unless the school cancels classes isn't reflective of an individual student's situation (I know this first-hand), but all-in-all, it's a nine month program, and the amount you learn and experience completely outweighs the poor aspects.Kendall Eley

I can only speak about my experiences here at Pima but I can honestly say it’s been life changing for me. I’ve completed my Registered Dental assistant program and I’m currently half way through my Radiology program and all I can say is that I’ve had nothing but good instructors in both programs. They really push you towards succeeding and the classes are well developed for you to learn. The prices are a little over the top but seeing how it’s a institute it’s expected. I’ve been attending this school for about 2 months, and I have nothing but good reviews about it. All my teachers so far have been great and patient with their students and it’s been easier to learn the material. The financial aid department is horrible. The chat for financial aid never answered my questions. They always told me to call the number. What's the point of having chat feature if they can't answer questions. Speaking on the phone with the financial aid department was a horrible. I've been given the run around regarding aid. People kept telling me that I qualify all I need to do is enroll in another class to be part time. Then, I was told that again I would get a Pell grant and loans. I didn't receive aid so I contacted them a few weeks later to find out that I don't qualify for aid. They had me enrolling in courses and everything knowing that I potentially didn't qualify. This is my first semester at Lone Star and it has been nothing but problems. The student staff are very rude and unhelpful. The front desk financial aid has no idea how to do her job. The book store and the campus are not on the same page. I won’t recommend going here if this is your first semester of college. It is extremely hard to get help from staff. I had to go speak to a counselor there and instead of them taking me to the back to discuss my business they came out to the waiting area and blurted out what I needed to know. In my opinion this was very unprofessional. I didn’t want my personal business being discussed in front of everyone. Please find students that are familiar with their job and are helpful. My daughter went there 2015, 2016 & 2017 after graduating from Humble High in 2014. She wasn’t able to get a scholarship for tennis so the plan was to take courses to raise her gpa and transfer her credits to a four-year college. I’ve had a bachelors degree since 1992 so I know the process. The advisor didn’t want me in the office and my daughter was okay with that. I found out after a few semester that she took math three times and flunked it. Her self esteem is shattered and she doesn’t feel confident that she can transfer. They couldn’t even give the paperwork so I could report her on my taxes. I lost thousands in tax rebates, they are the WORST!!!!Bruce Hickerson

I'm currently having one of the worst experiences ever! I was completely unaware of being enrolled in online classes once the pandemic started. I never spoke with anyone or confirmed this was ok. I specifically chose on campus classes due my struggle with specific subjects. I was unaware until an instructor contacted me. I emailed advising and was removed from the class I was still charged and a hold was put on my account. I have never talked to or discussed classes with anyone for the fall and i am also scheduled and charged for those classes as well. Now i'm told i have to file an appeal to try to have the balance and the hold removed and i cant remove the fall classes until the balance is cleared. Every time I speak with anyone i'm forwarded to someone or a dept. that cant help or explain!Christi Chavis

While I'd love to give a better review, I have to be honest. If you are utilizing veteran services, prepare for a ridiculous amount of wait time. There's never anyone online via chat and when you call if someone answers, it becomes a series of transference to different people or "I'll have someone contact you." I am finding it impossible to get a return address for a delivery I received containing 2 bottles of your CBD oil and 2 packets of the CBD gummy bears which was delivered to me by Hermes. I initially wanted to cancel the order but was informed that I could not. I did not realise the total price of these items and then my shock at finding out I was calling USA as I am in Scotland UK. Let's see where to begin. I am a former employee at FCC but they are also called UEI and US colleges. The 1st thing I noticed when working there the amount of unnecessary emails you get from everyone that works for FCC UEI and US college and the corporate office, about over of 100 hundred emails. The 2nd thing is the amount of meeting you have attended almost every two hours. And let's not forget that these meetings are not to motivate you, but rather make you feel small and tell how much of a horrible job you're doing. Beacuse in one hour you were not able to enroll a student. The director of admissions Mrs. MOORE will threaten to send you home without pay, she will threaten to fire you, she will call you lazy and pathetic or good for nothing, just because you can not book an appointment or enroll a student. To FCC it doesn't matter if you are homeless or can not afford school, they will enroll you no matter what. The work environment is very hostile and just not a good environment. As a student I suggest you go to a regular community college get an associates. Then transfer to a University. When I went there seemed like it’d be a great opportunity seeing I’ve been working to get back into school. But the office folks seemed reluctant to actually work with me. The process was not being done in chunks. It did not seem logically scheduled so all and all I give the program 2 stars seems like it can be helpful for maybe some people who wants to just rush back into school but seemed like they wanted me to use my student tuition for the school more than actually help me. Don’t waste your time. Go to a student advisor in lone star or HCC and then work with them from there. They should be able to help you. Or just work to get into a better vocational school. Dr.George was the best instructor ive ever had LET ME TELL YOU! i have never enjoyed school and never made above a B plus but after taking my first module with him i past all my first 3 classes with a perfect score of 100. His teaching style is amazing, he makes you feel like youre not alone, and he loves when u ask questions so if you're like me and hate asking questions he makes it so much easier its awesome. She has always been very attentive with me and always checked in, during and after my externship, and now that I'm hired she has continued to check in. I would recommend this school for a professional career change. I had a busy work life, working overnight and coming to class straight after work. I would not recommend this school, thier staffing issues caused several months delay in my admissions and when I called to check on my paperwork it was lost by an employee who was no longer working there. The new admissions lady was rude and when I spoke to Demecas Banks the head of admissions she was supposed to correct the issues caused by her employee but instead made things worse and than refused to admit me based on her personal feelings and bias. I went here to get my medical assistant certificate. It was all I expected and more. Everything from financial aide to the instructors were helpful and i feel like i got what i paid for. Also it was cheaper than other schools (i compared a few). If your interested in getting certified as a MA definitely consider this school. I have never been so ashamed of a school before. I have a few friends who go here. Quite a few of the staff and professors are unprofessional and have an attitude with students of which is uncalled for. These adults call themselves professionals when they need to check their attitude and professionalism. Two families I know have taken their kids out because of the poor management and treatment to kids who specifically have done nothing wrong. Specifically the highschool program here. Shameful. Why are you in the people business if you are horrible to people? I suggest finding a better school that treats you with respect and dignity. Parked on the side of the garage, and gave people room to go around me. This cop pulled up and turned on his siren to make me move. I then lost signal connection on a very important call, while I was trying to get directions fast to get to where I am going. I had to rush out of the garage, to get a signal. I ended up blocking a metro, to which I apologize for. After being on hold for 20 minutes, I was able to get the updated directions. The cop had room to go around, but I guess he had to show some authority. They really need to be defunded. There was no one there, just the two of us and plenty of space. Some of the staff there are just terrible, and have a very rude attitude especially the lady who was outside holding her little scanner sign at the front of the registration area. I recently passed NCLEX RN .I attended Leena mam's 6 week online RN review class.It was very helpful and I'm sure it is just because of this class and by God's grace I passed RN. Leena mam is very unique teacher and her way of teaching is entirely different .She explained difficult contents like a story which help to remember forever.There is no notes and we can use the resource which is available with us as study material.She taught the real content ,so that we can answer the questions in a better way.Moreover, she used to clear our doubts at any time. My experience was very positive. Ms Joy helped me navigate the requirements and get my documents submitted in less than a week. She was very helpful and was very diligent and immediately responsive to my calls and Emails. The online portion of the class was very well done. Ms MariJune was very knowledgeable and really helped point out the very important things we needed to focus on for the written part of the test. I enjoyed her method of instruction as it was my first online class. I was not excited about the 6:00 am clinical week, because of the early mornings. But it was perfect. I wasn’t tired and we began right away with appropriate breaks and lunch time, finishing by 2:00 which made for a quick day. I can not say enough about Ms Helen. Our class was very large and she was so patient and very knowledgeable, it was evident she wanted everyone to succeed. If this career is your calling you will not be disappointed, you will leave feeling confident. However, if you are entering this course because it’s a quick path to a career then you must exam your heart and understand what you are personally capable of and if you have the compassion to help and comfort those in need. I would love to take the clinical week again, Ms Helen provided me with so much confidence. I know from personal experience and heartbreak that these skills are the basic and prepare you for situations, but real life will always be different, you must understand. If you are not serious you will not be happy and I don’t want you taking care of my family. I believe CNA’s are the heart of the medical field and you must care deeply in helping people. CNA Training Institute is fantastic! I did the three week program, and for the first two weeks, the lectures were entirely online, which was convenient. During the final week, my classmates and I did clinicals at a nearby nursing facility and gained so much valuable insight on what it looks like to be a CNA. From the front office to the instructors for didactics and clinicals (Ms. S and Ms. Helen), everyone was responsive to questions, friendly, and has the best interest for their students. Ms. Helen walked us through each skill and provided us ample resources (online videos and procedural instructions) as well as great feedback. I was connected to a CNA position immediately after completing the program and am on track to taking the state exam. Overall, CNA Training Institute is a great school, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to be certified.Christopher T.

I started attending Texas Heath School about two months ago and my experience has been great since the day I walked in the door. My first day walking into the school I was immediately greeted by the smiling face of Mrs. York. She was very attentive and took the time to answer any questions that I had about the LVN program. If she didn't know the answer she took the time to find someone who did. She made sure that I had all of the resources needed for TEAS testing and even told me who had books on sale. A month later she followed up to see if I still had interest in the program and even allowed me to contact her personally if I had any questions. She was VERY helpful with the process and was always there to answer questions. Up until this day she still checks up on me to see how classes are going and she is very encouraging! Her energy can light up a room and you can tell that she genuinely cares. People like her are hard to come by. I regret I even have to give 1 star. The ONLY good thing about this school was the teacher I had. Ms. Brinkley was wonderful and very good at teaching us everything we needed to know to pass the class. Thank you Ms. Brinkley! As for the administration the tuition double the price as other schools around the area. A joke of private school. Limited supplies for clinicals! COVID vaccines all across the class still didn’t get to do in person clinicals but they sure charged us for it! This school is trash. The instructors are trash and expect you to already know the information. The owners care nothing about the students passing and only about making money. The Director of Nursing is the biggest piece of trash as she has an air of superiority and an inflated ego and most certainly plays favorites. I would highly recommend that you attend a nursing school that also doesnt charge veterans for room, board and transportation when they are in fact not providing those services to any of the students. I don’t know who answers calls here but they are the RUDEST individuals I’ve ever talked to. I was simply talking about the requirements for an accelerated program since I graduated with my bachelors in Biology but realized I wanted to do nursing. They proceed to cut me off about wanting my SAT score. I took the SAT 10 years ago and when I explained this to them, I was told I was dumb for not taking it??? And I was rudely hung up on bc I didn’t remember my SAT score from 10 years ago! I am 28 years old… And when I ask to be called back or left a message, it was NEVER returned and I was left to the argue with the lady on the phone who just refuses to listen. Great university to take classes that is close to home. I am currently enrolled in a few classes that work with my work schedule. The professors are awesome, helpful, and seem like the genuinely care about us. Update- Issue was corrected. This review is not necessarily targeting the Katy location per say but UHV in general. Good luck with getting financial aid. Financial aid is literally the worse department and really making me despise this school. I have been awarded 3 times and they keep taking it back, right when class is about to start after I've paid over 4K for classes they took back the measly $600 they gave me in financial aid on the eve of class starting. Now I have to go find $700 right before fall class begin or I risk getting dropped from my classes. After I'm done with my fall classes I'm transferring out. I've had ENOUGH of incompetence!!! I'll go where I'm appreciated. BTW I am a first time university student after transferring from HCC, HCC customer service and competency puts this whole school to SHAME . I agree with the comment regarding Veterans. If you are a Veteran you should seriously stay away from this school. A degree from here is more useless than the paper it is printed on. On another note. They turn a blind eye to cheating. Even when substantial evidence indicates someone has been cheating, they will ignore it in favor of keeping their graduation rate high. I sent in a full report regarding individuals cheating and it was completely ignored.Baba Yaga

This new satellite campus is very welcoming and professional! Everyone that is associated with this campus seems kind and friendly. The security in the front is very kind and polite as well, so don't be afraid to ask her a question. The environment is so vibing! I would take classes here if I was you. If you're looking to get into the HVAC trade here forget it. Save yourself from getting into debt for nothing. Whole time i attended here I was spoon fed lies from start to finish. "The class work is 80% hands on 20% bookwork" nope its more like 90% bookwork and 10% hands on. You are also told you'll get paid some 20$ – 24$ hourly when you start working, also a lie, all the jobs I was sent to would give me some variation of "they don't teach you anything worth money at trade school, ill start you at 10$" on top of said jobs being an hour to two hours away from my apartment. Save yourself 20 grand and just go be an apprentice for someone already in the field. You will learn more in a year with them. Oh and the EPA certification? Most employers said "oh cool" and continued to offer 10 – 11$ an hour so that certificate does next to nothing for you. Also all those cool full time full of great benefit jobs that come and want to hire new graduates? Also lies. Called 3 of those companies that came to showcase their job offers after I graduated. Guess what? Nothing. Not even a phone call or email to let me know I wasn't accepted.Gerardo Villarreal
