20 Best Radiology Programs In Ogden, UT (2022 Updated)

This really is a good school. It's really cheap and the acceptance rate is 100%, but I don't feel like that's reflected in it's performance. The environment is really nice, and it doesn't feel like a local community college. The programs and teachers are good, and the Holland library has everything you need. The HPC building has literally everything you could dream of for a gym, and it's free for all full time students. I'd really recommend coming here, as I don't think I've ever met anyone here with student dept. It's seriously a good school.Jaymii Bonadurer

The Queen Tribute Band ❤️ was great fun! I wish we could of heard the words of the songs better.Every one was dancing in front of their seats & singing along. One of the Best Concerts I've been to. The lead singer was a bit distracting because he was not dressed at all like Freddy Mercy.Even wearing a white tank top & jeans would have been a bit truer to the character .Like what Freddy wore a the Live Aid Concert. I enjoyed attending Dixie College years ago. However, I now do not like living nearby. The campus police is a joke with the females involved w male students and vise versa. The neighbors now are forced to tolerate loud dances past midnight with booming music and the children can’t sleep. Our cars get broken into regularly and overall vandalism and theft has greatly increased. The students are running the madhouse it has become and it appears there is no clear leadership.Tiffany Sargis

School here is nice and if you need something cheap, but UVU reinforces the comment that "University education is becoming less valuable." Half my professors were either teaching here their first time, didn't speak English, or had no expertise in their subject. I passed 2 years of credits by watching videos and drawing pictures during class: not because I'm smart, but because there was no content. Like in high school, many of the professors have 30% percent of their grade centered around attendance. Not participation, but attendance. So yes, I ignored class because everything I needed for an A was provided online. I'm typing this now during Philosophy class, and I am not missing anything. Books are hardly ever used but are "required" according to the professors. They gather dust on my shelf. Most problems here need to be fixed across the nation not just UVU, but I am a very frustrated student in my twenties because I don't know where my money is going. Teachers aren't happy with pay and all have second jobs. The building and resources are really really nice but I rarely need to use them since the internet was invented. UVU in general education has the same quality as Khan Academy except here, there is a physical address they want you to come to. There is a good range of food options but mostly crowded into the same building. Parking is ridiculous and there is no reason to pay $90 a year for the clustered insanity that the school created. Use the darn money to hire a civil engineer for God's sake. Once you pass general education and focus in to better classes, the rooms get nicer and the teaching quality doubles. Don't come here if you're not willing to graduate. Location is fine other than the city planning on the busiest road outside. If you're coming from the south east your drive will be dangerous, traffic is terrible and construction has been in effect for 4 years now. Very annoying. Train station is very convenient and is likely your best choice if you have a transportation method to your nearest station. Students who work feel punished because rent in the area is high, and pay low. Scholarships are handed to those without jobs first, those who aren't working for rent and tuition are the ones handed money from the school. Afternoon/Night classes are poor in options and schedule so working at a volatile job is ever more of a punishment. (Data from a few friends and strangers) Many activities, but the activities most advertised in my buildings were focused for helping women, about guest speakers, for the LGBT community, or cost $15. So I've never been to one, though free lectures and speeches are common. Overall, UVU focuses on medium-to-low education and welcoming everyone with open arms. But once you're here, you may want to transfer to BYU or drop out entirely.Isaac Benge

Coming here was the best decision I have ever made. Every single professor cares about my learning and the fact that the average class size is 23 (I’ve never had a class over 25) makes it so my teachers know me, know my name, know what type of student I am, and some even came to my wedding! I have also been incredibly impressed with the resources. You would have to TRY to fail at UVU, because they truly make it so easy to succeed. From job resources, free tutoring, professor office hours, financial aid and scholarships, and everything in between I honestly feel like every single person I talk to wants me to succeed. The campus is amazing and INDOORS like seriously it is the best part of campus. Shorts in the winter and pants in the summer. Sure parking can be hard, but you are 100% going to find that at any university and it is really only bad after 10am so if you have classes before that you will be fine. The social life is great and the activities are fun and well attended. Free food at all times and tons of on campus food options. I honestly feel like the education I received is worth a million times more than what the tuition is (one of the lowest in the nation for a university). UVU focuses on Engaged Learning, or learning by doing, and most my classes don’t even have textbooks or tests, just projects and resume building it’s amazing. Add that to the fact that it is open enrollment and you can see why it is the largest university in the state. Seriously. Come take a tour at least and see how awesome UVU is.Justine Rupprecht

In all honesty do NOT go here, if you have a better option do not come to this college, it is a over glorified high school. They aren't too expensive which is nice, but they charge many other ways, you must pay to take tests if you are not there the first day, they offer no flexibility when taking classes especially if you are working full time. The professors are 50/50 you either get great ones that work with you, answer quickly to your emails, and are awesome. Or you get awful ones that only two kids pass their class, they will put you on academic probation which I don't get because I am paying to go to school here, so why does it bother them if I failed one class because the professor was awful. In all honesty if you have a better option DO NOT GO HERE! I have never been so frustrated with a school before in my life.Kyra McMillan

The assigned female nurses (third shift) and female nursing assistants seemed to be on top of doing their rounds, checking on the patients, and monitoring my breathing situation. The assigned male nurses (first and second shift) not so much, they pretty much just ignored me and requesting the monitoring my breathing situation. The male nurses, assigned first did virtually no new patient orientation to the ER. They didn't tell me about how to order meals nor give me the menu information, they didn't tell me how to work anything in the room except the call button, they didn't give me the courtesy bin to brush my teeth or wash soap (I noticed it sitting on the counter behind my bed when I prepared to leave the next day), they did not explain how to get untangled from the wires hooked up to me to use the restroom, and they were not responsive to calls. When the female nurses and nursing assistants took over later that evening and the next day the stay got a lot better. They made their rounds, monitored my vitals, hooked up the machines and made sure the air was flowing properly. Dr. was great. Great Bedside manner and answered all my questions. Food was good (when I was finally shown how to order it), kitchen people were considerate and helpful, room was clean. Bottom-line, it was a pleasant stay.Paul Harris

My experience with the stress test was fine. I wish they had a bike option for the stress test. I wished to go longer, but I did not dare as I was beginning to feel the pressure on my back from a medical injury caused by multiple child births. As the rise became steeper, as an older person. I felt a bit unstable, as if I needed to cling to the hand bar. A bike would also have taken care of that. I have had a stress test on a bike before. For me a bike would be a better option. Also it has been just an hour or two short of 6 days and I am still waiting the final report. The web site says it should be in within 4 days, which would likely cover a week-end and we have had a weekend. The nurse was nice and fun to work with and chat with. She was very accommodating to my needs. The person who ran the test did a great job. I feel the procedure went very well, was well explained and when there was a question on billing, it was explained adequately so that I could make an informed decision. Me biking below.Debrah Roundy

My midwife was wonderful. The delivery/postpartum room was spacious. I had a few nurses (2 specifically) that were attentive and compassionate post delivery, grateful for them. Nurses didn’t seem to be engaged or attentive to me. Room didn’t feel clean/disinfected after birth, they left the baskets full of garbage/dirty laundry in my room for hours. Didn’t offer me a new gown until 7+ hours after baby was born, so I sat in a dirty bloody gown. Didn’t mention a shower until over 24hrs after baby was born, didn’t offer to assist with a shower and there were no shower supplies. Sanitary supplies were not restocked, had to ask for more. Medications not given in a timely manner or on a schedule, had to ask for them multiple times. Having had 3 babies in 3 different hospitals in Northern Utah I’d have to say this was my least favorite and that’s with one of my babies being delivered in the middle of the COVID pandemic and that experience was far better than my visit here at ORMC.Kerina Proffit

I've been an instructor at the Salt Lake campus for over 5 years; it has been fun, challenging, and rewarding. The nursing and dental hygiene programs are difficult (whose programs aren't?), but the pass rates for both programs are exceptional. The HVAC program is outstanding, and the director of that program is well connected and extremely informative. In all programs, many of the instructors have been there for several years. The students who focus their efforts…do well. But many students come into the program thinking that it's going to be a piece a cake and it really isn't. There will be countless hours of studying, and homework. And some of the students who fail out of the program blame the school for that, when in reality they either weren't prepared for the amount of work or just couldn't pass. I've watched hundreds of students graduate over the years and get jobs for 2-4 times what they made before they enrolled, and it is life changing money for them. Fortis College is a good school, and yes, it is expensive, but it's a better option than waiting five years on a waiting list to get into a less expensive school. The overall length of the programs are also much shorter, and this allows the graduate to begin working much faster than a traditional college or university.M Stone

Fortis College has a lot of great career choices! It's bitter sweet this is last module, I'll miss all the amazing instructors, who have helped me more than ever! Staff is literally so helpful and friendly, they do an awesome job of making everyone feel so welcome. I'm a very hands on learner and that is one of the reasons why I wanted to come to Fortis, almost everyday lab time, private tutoring available if needed. I love how much I've learned in just this short amount of time, I feel more than ready to get out into my field and pursue my career in Dental Assisting. Class sizes are extremely nice, everyone gets there own one on one time with instructors, hours of classes are offered to best fit with your schedule, campus is open from 7am-9pm. Perfect for working around other priorities. Coming to Fortis gave me a whole other outlook on college, starting from what career I might be interested in, to financial aid, to graduating in march. I attended the nursing program at Fortis College. This program was not only the hardest thing I have ever done but also the most rewarding. I am a single mom of three kids and going back to school was scary! Once I made the decision to do this I knew there was no looking back. The instructors are so supportive, the classes are small and if you need one on one time to understand a specific principle then this school is a great match for you. I spent countless hours after class studying with instructors. The staff are all incredible. I'm not saying this school is perfect but no school is. What I am saying is if your determined and have a strong desire to succeed in life then this is a great program. I received a job offer for my dream job in the ER with a month of graduation and can honestly say the sacrifices made for two years are so worth it. After emergency surgery I was never given a post op appointment. So I called Ogden Regional who did my surgery and they refered me too the Clinic. Apparently I was given the wrong surgeons name, so he couldn't see me post op, after many phone calls they referred me to the surgeon they **think** did my surgery, but he DOESN'T DO post op, so they referred me to a Nurse Practitioner (which I'm fine with honestly) who MAY have been on the surgical team. But her staff had the wrong date down for my surgery, which delayed the appointment, and when time came she was too busy to make the appointment. I was told to reschedule, but I didn't because now my faith and trust is gone. This is my first surgery ever and I have no idea who was inside my body while I was unconscious. I don't know how long before I can get back to my normal life because I have no one to ask these questions. I guess I'm fine thenIzzy Fischer

What a joke. I popped my knee this morning during a work out, can barely walk or put weight on it. So I called for an appointment. Spent over an hour on the phone waiting to speak to someone, was told they r booking orthopedic apts 3-4 weeks out, asked about their Ortho Express and was told that if the injury is within 48 hours I can see someone today. Yay – I thought and I drive there and am told NO they won’t see me because I’ve had previous swelling in my knee. WTH!?!?! Guess services are just for people in perfect condition that get injured 🤕 What a waste of time. Too bad the people on the phone and the people in the clinic don’t actually have the same play book so the can communicate the correct information. Extremely disappointed ☹️.Ma Malia

My mother was scheduled today for an urgent urology visit. She was turned away in person because we are in the middle of trying to get her Medicare coverage figured out. Long story…because of her medical needs she qualified for Emergency Medicaid short-term. The Urology Dept. flat out said we cannot see you because you are on Medicaid. They are Medicaid providers and isn't that what they are there for to take care of patients? This boils down to the almighty dollar! Forget the fact she has a medical need and in a temporary situation requires a little help. She is elderly and they TURNED HER AWAY. Shame on Ogden Clinic!!!Stacy Storey

Dr. Kelly Amann has saved my Dad's life! With one phone call to me advising me to get my Dad to the emergency room, allowed him to be with us for a bit longer. He had an individual conversation with the emergency room Dr. because of this conversation and his individualized knowledge of my Dad, the emergency room Dr. listened. (maybe with a bit of my perseverance too) Dad was admitted to the hospital to receive the care he needed. So very disappointed in this place. I took my mother there today for an MRI and we had an awful experience. We were told her appt was at 1:45. Knowing that there was probably new pt paperwork to fill out we showed up at 1:20 so we could be on time. No one informed her on the phone that when they told her her appt time, that it was for the paperwork time. We found out later, at 2:45 that her appt was actually at 2:05 for the actual MRI. This was very frustrating. So, they came to the lobby to get her at 2:05. At 2:30 they came out to get me to call one of her drs. She had had a previous surgery and they needed to know if it contained any metal. While I was on the phone with her drs office trying to find out we were told that there was another snag. They told me that they now couldn't do her MRI because the dr had to leave at 3:00. I looked around the lobby and saw people still filling out paperwork, so I do feel we were lied to. I let them know that I had taken off work, my mother had taken off work, and that she doesn't drive and all my siblings work full time. This wasn't an easy task to get her there. They didn't care. They turned us away and told us to try another day. I called around and spoke to many MRI techs who said that what my mother had done last year NEVER contains metal and that any MRI tech should know this. We left very angry and definitely do not recommend this place!Angie Dodge

An MRI tech, Gonzalo, was so helpful today. I got an order for a chest X-ray from my doctor and called US MRI just to ask if i could walk in or needed an appointment. He asked a few questions to clarify my situation, then helped me get it scheduled same day and was just super helpful making the process of getting registered as a new patient at this imaging center easy and fast, all over the phone. He also prepared me for what I would need upon arrival (mask, insurance cards, arrive early for paperwork, etc) and did so much over the phone, that when I walked in, all I had to do was fill out the paper work and get my images. I really appreciate that he went out of his way and took on extra work to get me in their system, scheduled and prepped! Highly recommend this place, not only for their kind staff, but also the clean facility, and the efficiency in which they operate!Lindsey Martinez

I never thought walking into an MRI could feel like walking into a spa. The office was very chic, clean, and modern. Even the bathroom sink was something from a high-end hotel. The office staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the MRI tech was the same. Kudos for the heated blanket during the procedure–extra comforting! Nice changing rooms and waiting rooms, plus I love the extended evening hours during the week. Once the procedure was over, they had me out the door with image disk in hand in no time. So I went there as I have been for the past like 8 years. It was very quick, one of the shorter wait times I've experienced, which was awesome. It felt like my symptoms were being chalked up to strep or covid, both those tests came back negative to which they all shrugged their shoulders and said maybe its a weird strain of cold and sent me out the door. Overnight my breathing became so difficult and my throat closed up so much that I was at another Dr within 12 hours of that appointment. When I told the second drs office what happened they were very astonished I wasn't even given a prescription for antibiotics. They promised to not let me leave until I had treatment, could breathe and sallow properly, was rehydrate, and had a diagnosis in hand. All of which they accomplished. North ogden used to be my favorite drs office, I tried to schedule all of my drs who part time there bc I loved the feeling of care I used to get there. Maybe they were having a super rough day but it just didn't seem like it since the wait time was less than 2 minutes. I'm not sure, but I will be taking appts at other locations much more often now.Amy Noriega

Went here on advice of my PCP due to hives that were bruising. I have been a patient at this facility for over 20 years. Nurse was wonderful. Very sweet and welcoming. Dr didn’t even look at my hives or any part of me other than a picture I showed her. She gave me a prescription for a steroid and took blood. The next day Via the app I could see that some of my test results were abnormal. When they called me they said I was fine and If I had any questions I should follow up with my PCP (who didn’t have an opening for a month). I reminded them that my PCP sent me there and I asked about my abnormal results. They said they were normal. When I asked what I should do about my hives that were still bothering me and that I was really worried, they told me again to make an appointment with my PCP. When I told them he didn’t have an opening they said “yeah, I’m sure that’s frustrating, hopefully he can see you soon”. So glad I spent a co-pay that I don’t have, just to be told to make an appointment with my PCP.Autumn

I ended up in the ER last week after experiencing severe back pain and some other symptoms from an ovarian cyst. I’m sure being in an emergency room has a lot to do with it but my ER doctor didn’t seem very invested in my condition or the cause of the symptoms at all. When I came to this clinic, Dr. Wangsgard was so great about addressing all of my questions and concerns. I left with something to manage my symptoms more effectively and feeling a lot more hopeful about the issues I’ve been experiencing. The doctors and receptionists I’ve interacted with here are always so nice and have been great at helping me resolve my medical concerns. This is definitely my preferred clinic. You get what you pay for. Obviously it will depend on your program, but in my experience most of the course material is outdated and disorganized. Various sources are just tossed together, accumulating over the years like dust bunnies, with almost no attempt to structure them into a coherent whole. Most of the instructors are drowsy and unmotivated burnouts, not committed educators. They are there to “help,” but they really don’t care about the curriculum, much of which is just a waste of time. In general, and despite its much-vaunted “flexible” scheduling, OWTC really does trifle with a student’s time. You will spend most of your scheduled hours reading poorly-written trade manuals and, even worse, clicking through “interactive” learning modules. Far fewer hands-on exercises than you might expect. This place is constantly fiddling with its policies and procedures, too, and to no apparent purpose, other than to irritate you. It took me some time to figure out what’s going on, here, but it’s pretty clear to me now. This is certainly not a community college. It’s not even really a school. It’s NOT somewhere to go to learn how to do something. OWTC performs three and only three functions: (a) it serves as the vocational arm for the area’s high schools, i.e. as a babysitter; (b) it’s a good old-fashioned make-work program for drowsy and unmotivated burnouts; and (c) it allows local businesses and manufacturers to offload its more basic employee training and certification onto the public. All of this is to say that you probably shouldn’t bother with OWTC unless you’re a high school student or you’re already employed in industry and your employer is paying for you to get some BS certificate.a h

Worse experience let’s just put it out there, I went in months ago with my son who had virgin hair and he wanted we got told they can’t do pink they’d need to do purple first and then come back to do pink!! Wrong!! Even with an instructor they didn’t refund us or nothing you’d think with proper education going to this place you’d be fully educated thank god for Paul Mitchelle and my friend who actually has helped us for now 4 months she’s helped his hair I paid double the amount from this school and only sticking to Paul Mitchell and their well educated Instructed with more degrees and not them only wanting my money they give me a proper educated steps on how to do it and keep up on his hair such a waste of time and money and to think I was getting the right services trusting even olderly instructor they don’t know a single thing about taking virgin brown hair to a flamingo pink when my friend has done and she will doing looks like my donated money was needed.Natasha Rivera

Their cosmetology section is amazing! So neat and professional. I loved how there were plenty of instructors to continually check in on the stylists work to ensure a good outcome on your hair. I felt like the stylists were properly trained before working, and had a good extent of knowledge to do damage control on surprise twists and turns along the process. I don't have a lot of experience with Weber State University. I did attend a big conference on their campus today. Their food services provided the meal and it was excellent. It's cool they have shuttles to drive the students in from the parking lots far away. On that shuttle I met the most amazing, young, smart student. My father got a teaching degree there. My sister got a Pharmacy degree there. My daughter is currently getting an engineering degree there. My sister got a math teaching master's there. After a few conversations through email and phone call I was advised to come in anytime to get some additional information regarding the nail tech program and talk to student services. I did go in a few weeks ago I was excited to get more information I talked to Jennifer P and I have never felt more unimportant in my entire life every question I asked she said you can find that on our website , she basically gave me no answers and seemed to be rushing me off if anything . I have decided to go with a different school. I had a fantastic experience a few years ago with this school but I don’t believe it’s what it used to be unfortunately.Haylee

I have been a student at Davis tech for almost two years at this point. I have loved it! I am in the medical coding and billing program and am getting ready to take my licensing exam in October. The staff have been so kind and helped me in any way they could when things were a bit rocky in the beginning. they were patient and understanding when I was coming to school at the time when I was planning my wedding. all in all I have loved my time as a student of this institution. Coming here has given me the possibility to change my life. I will shortly be in a career that I adore and I could not be happier!Makayla Norman

Terrible work experience. The DTC staff will completely lie to you in your interview to get you in the door. Management won’t bother to show you how to do your job. Then, management will have the nerve to tell you that you’re not performing properly!! I’ve been reading in the comments that students don’t receive proper instructions or help from instructors as well. I guess it’s typical business practice for the DTC. To be honest, this was the biggest waste of time I’ve had professionally. BRYCE FOX is a terrible manager!!! Choose this SCHOOL with CAUTION professionally or as a student.Tyson

I don't know where or how to start. I a disabled veteran, and I feel like I have been overlooked, dismissed and uncared for. I failed the driving test 3 times, twice at the hands of their "head instructor". I get that I didn't do everything right, which ultimately resulted in a fail. What I am talking about is the apathy shown byMr. Reid. Two weeks ago, he told me that we had to reschedule, after missing two prior appointments, one, die to cold weather, the next due to lack of staff. Here I sit, two weeks later, with no appointment, having heard nothing from him or MTEC. I am very disappointed in how they treated me. I'm a senior now, And I was trying to resume working after back surgery. Instead I get to find a way to pay for a private tester. I have no fear of that. But I will not be recommending MTEC to anyone,and will let the VA and voc rehabilitation the truth about MTEC's trucking programRicky Colson

Be aware that in general trucker schools take in too many people, take their money, give them little practice time & push them out the door when they can't master driving in a few days. Next, of course they won't let them take the driving test even if they passed the written part. It's happening all over the country. MTech is not the worst offender, they are supposed to be better about this than some schools, but nevertheless, buyer beware. They were kind enough to grant me a refund, but I am told that is not the rule and I also had to submit a petition. I think the instructors made an attempt to be fair about everything, but in my opinion there still there was not enough hours behind the wheel for maximizing safety and securing that the regular student will pass with flying colors.Rex Biggers

My son signed up for an emissions test prep class (that it very unfortunately seems only MTEC offers). They sent him no info what-so-ever as what classroom or even what building it was in. He showed up and there were no signs either. He found several other people looking for the same class, one of which had tried to both call and email his instructor several times before the class with no response. They finally found a teacher who told them what class it was in, and they went to that room, to find it empty and the door locked. So, we changed him to the next class. He got an email AN HOUR before the class was supposed to start, 8 minutes before he due to leave to get there on time, that it was canceled.Misty Thompson

Saw Dr. John Fang in an emergency procedure at the U of U Med Center. He was the most rude and unprofessional doctor I've every had the misfortune to see. I was terribly sick, and because he had to do emergency procedures on me on a Sunday, he was rude and unprofessional and when he yanked on a tube I had in me, he caused me to choke and get much sicker. This guy should lose his license!!! He is the chief of this department which is hard to believe!barbara kennedy

Husband is a 2nd year med student here and has found amazing opportunities and people to work with. He has loved all of his professors and doctors that he has worked with so far and feels prepared for Step 1. We have loved our experience at the U so far. It is a lot of money but it is well spent.
