Review Summary

If you are looking for a university that constantly drops classes without notifying you and consistently mess up your financial aid and student loans, then this is the university for you. I have never dealt with such an unorganized and incompetent higher education facility. If I were not so close to reaching my end goal with my education I would transfer. If you are planning on taking courses at the HEAT Center in Aberdeen through Notre Dame, such as myself, don't bother because courses are rarely offered there and I have had 3 courses in the past 2 semesters that were to be held at the HEAT Center that have been cancelled and I was never notified by Notre Dame. Now they have notified Fed Loans that I graduated in August when I have not completed all my coursework. Talk about unorganized. I don't think I have encountered one person on the administrative staff that seems like they know what they are doing. I can say my professors have been good; however all of the negative encounters I have had with administration has overshadowed those positives.Kelly Borowiak

This review is of the Entry level BSN nursing program. To be fair, this institution actually has a very good nursing program. The culture of the environment however needs plenty of improvements. This nursing program lacks cultural diversity and sensitivity. The nursing program and it’s educators still caters to the program’s largely Caucasian student population. All of the full time professors that lecture are white with the exception of one Indo-Caribbean professor. This has created an environment of both intentional and unintentional biases, which has also created an open tolerance for racial and ethnic prejudices that should never be acceptable or tolerated in an educational environment. The nursing program would greatly benefit from including an office of Cultural diversity and inclusion to better accommodate and nurture its students from different racial and ethnic backgrounds.Beautiful Life of B

Notre Dame of Maryland was the last college I visited, but the first one that felt like home. I'm only a sophomore, but I know that I made the best decision because the faculty, staff, and student body make this place so great. My professors are always available and helpful, which is great in a pinch, and living on campus with my friends is the best thing I could have asked for. The programs create something for everyone (as seen in my own dorm!) with one roommate as Pre-Pharm in the 3/4 year program, the other currently applying for the Nursing Program, and I'm applying for the 5 year MAT program for education. The worse hospital on Baltimore I don’t recommend for anyone to have a nicu baby . These people put me throw the worst experience of my life . I took my sister for an MRI on 9/3/22 at the 1209 York Rd Advanced Radiology. The woman checking us in was about the rudest person I ever met in a medical facility and there was only one woman there. My sister has severe anxiety, claustrophobia, and COPD therefore she cannot breathe with the mask on in the tube and the receptionist told her she had to and by the way she had to pull the mask up over her nose and pinch it after she was told all of this. My sister had already cleared this issue with someone else when she made the appointment. When my sister told that lady she couldn’t do the MRI then the lady asked her if she was sure she didn’t want to try my sister said if she couldn’t do it would she be billed and the lady replied her insurance company would. Then the lady proceeded to ask my sister if she wanted to try an make it half way through and my sister asked if the doctor would be able to see what he needed and the lady said no. So what was the point in asking? This woman’s whole demeanor was just nasty. She should not be working there!! We will follow up with a call to the managerLisa Blackwell

X-rays are only walk-ins at this location. I get there at 6:45pm tonight (Thursday) and was returned stating that they were no longer doing X-Rays. On the website, it states walk-ins will be accepted until 7:30pm (M-Th). So I basically drove there for no reason! Gas is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE to be returning patients. I contacted the customer service line to schedule an appointment because I refuse to have the same problem the next time I return for my VERY MUCH NEEDED X-ray and was told there isn't even a way for them to schedule an appointment for X-rays because it is on a walk-in basis. Makes no sense to me at all! The website needs to be updated with the accurate times that walk-in patients will be accepted. This was NOT ok at all.Natasha Haynes

A brain MRI has been cancelled three times now in the last 2 months. This is apparently due to lack of scheduling techs on Mondays, when techs aren't even scheduled. and now lastly about an hour prior to one stating no tech is available. Their solution– to have me wait another month due to their gross incompetence with scheduling. EDIT: I don't need a canned response from the person asking for more details. I also received a text saying they could schedule earlier now. Don't know how, as the scheduler I talked to said they couldn't. When I first arrived the young lady that was at check in at 7am was not very pleasant at all. I asked questions and she was just matter of fact with me not trying to help me at all. She cancelled my appointment without me asking her to and when I told her I still wanted to be seen she stated she couldn't because my appointment was cancelled by her. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she told me none come in until 730. I told her I would wait. Meanwhile another representative walked in and was very friendly. The rude lady asked the other for her email so she can send her something like I didn't know it was about me. She was very unprofessional and extremely rude. The nice lady said someone in management was indeed there already and went to get her. The manager came out and apologized for her behavior and got me seen right away. The manager was very friendly. The tech Sandy I had was amazing. Very pleasant, friendly and answerEd my questions with ease. The appointment started of all wrong but everyone after that was a pleasure to talk to. The front desk receptionists are the absolute best. They welcomed us was soon as we entered the door and communicated well. It was our first time to this location and my child had her very FIRST CT scan. I told her prior to her appointment, that she was going into a space ship that would be taking a picture of her brain. I did not go into details why we had to get this done, because there was no sense in worrying her until we got the results back. Sharon spoke to my child with so much love and compassion. She made the exam seem fun, spoke to her level, and even promised her a treat when she was done. We were given our paperwork and directed where to wait for our exam. I was not very happy with the CT tech, but I am addressing management with my concern. Afterwards, my child was very happy to tell Ms. Sharon how well she did. Sharon was waiting at the front with her treat. She made our day and supported a Mom who truly needed a dose of kindness. Thank you Sharon for doing what you do, you made a big impact on our hearts. Did virtual check-in at 12:27 because I was asked to check in at 12:30 for my 1:00 appointment. I was never contacted to come inside. Went in at 1:27 and was told I was late and may not be seen but I could sit around and wait. I was also told that the virtual check in doesn’t always work and I shouldn’t wait more than 5-10 minutes. How am I supposed to know that?! Terrible customer service. It’s not my fault that your system is defective and I should’ve been accommodated. Why does AR have the monopoly on imaging? My doctor ordered a barium test for me that I completed here at Advanced Radiology in their Medical Arts Building. I was impressed with the efficiency and courtesy of the Staff, as well as the cleanliness of the room. As was usual, I didn’t need to wait long for my procedure, less than ten minutes from check-in. Incidentally, I encountered no problems parking on their spacious parking lot. I’ve been using Advanced Radiology now for the past fifteen years; and I can honestly report that the Staff has always been courteous, efficient, knowledgeable, and prompt. I visited the White Square Location on 6/23/22. Several patients were unmasked in the waiting area, and no employee asked them to mask. The employee who checked me in took down their mask to cough. Seeing as I was here for a chest x-ray to help diagnose long Covid issues, I take this lack of proper masking rather seriously. It has been 2+ years, try and get this right. All employees and visitors should be properly masked whenever possible, and proper masking should be enforced.Tiger Torre

Arrived at around 2:30 on a Friday afternoon to get x-rays on my knee without an appointment. Woman at the desk took my ID and insurance cards to input my info and within 5 minutes was done. Waited another 5 minutes to be called. Took another 5-10 minutes to take the x-rays and I was done. Quick and easy, with whole process only taking 15-20 minutes. I came here for a 6 week ultrasound and the tech complained to me that it was too soon and moms just get too excited but they should wait until 8 weeks for their first ultrasound. I can understand that but little did she know I was told by my doctor to get it done at 6 weeks. My husband had an appointment here for a CT Scan. To confirm this AR is located inside the BWMC. Admissions (main lobby) was friendly, caring, and went above and beyond- to welcome us with a smile! Once we arrived at Advanced Radiology- our friendly experience changed. We buzzed ourselves in using the wall button. It was so loud-it just about scared me out of my shoes! Once inside we placed our folder (provided from admissions) on the counter. There’s a sign directing you where to place your file. We were greeted quickly by Laura. My husband had an arm band placed on his wrist- after confirming his DOB. We were then asked to have a seat. Shortly thereafter Debbie entered. I only know her name because Laura kept repeating it during their conversation. After Debbie dropped off lunch- they loudly discussed what they were eating, and talked about various food trucks. I even know Laura likes lamb gyros! All of this while country music blared in the background. My husband and I were the only people in the waiting room. As you can see we waited in a dark waiting room. They didn’t have all the lights on (only by the entrance door and the hallway to the bathroom). While we waited Debbie said “Who are these people?” Excuse me??? How rude can one be? She didn’t check us in, and had nothing to do with my husbands scan/appointment. Her rude behavior was not warranted! Please send Debbie to a customer service refresher. The CT technician was very friendly btw. If the lights were on, and the atmosphere was different-I would’ve rated this location at least four stars.Farrah

This was my son’s first experience with MRI. He’s 17. The intake folks were terrific. They were kind and efficient and helpful. The MRI techs were different. Although they were cordial, they appeared very busy and rushed whenever they had to interact with us. They did not ask if he’d done this before or talk him through the process, etc. Just rushed in and out with every encounter. In between the rushing, I could hear them chatting together about their dogs and personal lives. Just gave me a bad taste. Also, my son received ear plugs instead of headphones with music, as most other MRI clinics do. I do appreciate the need to keep things moving due to scheduling but please don’t forget you’re dealing with humans. Probably won’t schedule any future MRIs at this location.Tiffany H

It is still difficult to enter the building after the traumatic experience when I had a breast biopsy yrs back and a new procedure/equipment was being introduced. There were at least 5 people in the room while i was exposed and told to lay on the table on my stomach. They talked around me like i was not a human or even present. Then when I was told to get up, I started bleeding so much it went to the floor and i was rushed out The rest i can’t continue with. Nice place & friendly staff but for an unknown reason the technician did not do the test as it was written on the referral. My Dr. had requested with contrast but I was told it was not necessary. Review Summary

This school wasted so much of my time. I was using a veteran's program that ends this year, and I spoke with their admissions, the VA rep, and academic advising and they put me thru the whole process of enrolling, having transcript sent, etc. Then I was told by the VA rep to enroll right away, but I was not allowed to until I spoke with Advising. At that time I was told I was good to go and could enroll on Oct 24th. I called the school to enroll on that day and was told I was too late. The classes I would be enrolling for start the following January. My daughter took a class with Professor Yvonne Chaney. There was poor communication, minimal instruction, and unfair grading. My daughter has been a straight A student her whole life. Taking APs and honors classes. Never below a 4.0 and she currency has a 5.3. She has been doing very good in English, which is why she chose to take this class. I have several medical conditions that require frequent, MRIs and CT scans. I started going to Advanced Radiology and stayed on when it became JHH. I have not been dissatisfied at any time. The call center representatives go above and beyond to accommodate my schedules. I try to have my Dexa scan and mammography done on the same day and as close together so I don't have to take a lot of time off from work. They have always been able to assist with the request. The front desk has very professional and polite people there. The techs are outstanding, They do anything to help me relax and get comfortable for what ever test I am having done (well as comfortable as one can get having a mammogram!) If I need a copy of the CD I allow extra time because I am not the only patient there and that does take a bit of time. The waiting room, the dressing rooms, and the testing rooms are always clean. There is a wide selection of music they offer for the MRIs including Christian. I have nothing but good remarks about JHH Imaging at White Marsh. Kudos to everyone there!!! Do not come here!!! I have gone out of my way not to use the branch of John’s Hopkins for years. They are very unprofessional, but the real problem is the MRI department.. usually the day crew is pretty good, but don’t go a night! They were so unprofessional that I actually left, when I needed an emergency MRI. They were very very rude, and condescending to the point of amazement. I had other MRIs done by different group here and they were wonderful so I don’t know what happened to the good staff? I felt like I was in line at a fast food chain, and they didn’t feel like being bothered or doing they’re job. Super sloppy and unresponsive. If you need anything done, and your part of John’s Hopkins, go anywhere else but here in their system. Unless you want fast food medical care!!!!!! This place is the worst! And please hire people that want to work! The front desk lady was very sweet, and actually called me and tried to find me another appointment, but couldn’t in time, so my surgery also got messed up in this! UPDATED I get ALL my imaging done here. After 2 spine surgeries, I knew there was something horribly wrong somewhere after the second one. The front desk staff are first rate, as are the techs!!! They are ALL just very good at what they do! After MANY images of my lumbar spine and all 8 screws, and an insurance change. I noticed a difference in the way the radiologists read the films. They went from VERY detailed, to what looks like "cut and paste". Of course this is ALL my own frustration in knowing that something is VERY wrong and no one can seem to find it. I will still get ALL my imaging done there simply because they're the best!!Kelly

Please update your website to the time you actually stop taking patients because apparently it is not 12:45 and not 1:00 as your website says. I arrived at 12:53 on 2/22/20 with a fractured foot for a follow up X-ray and there was no staff in the lobby. After standing around for a min or 2 a patient told me there was a clip board to sign in. As I was signing on a brown skin, middle age black woman with straight shoulder length brown hair came from around the corner and said “OH WE CLOSED!” First of all, that’s not how you talk to a patient.. can I get a Hey? Hello? Some type of greeting??? Yelling WE ARE CLOSED is not a greeting. She grabbed the clock(seriously?) and said, “We close at 1:00”. I said, “But it’s not 1:00” and she said , “but we closed!“ I’m sorry but I’m not going to visit a establishment that allows their employees to talk to INJURED PATIENTS THIS WAY and your company should not be okay with it either. Your employee is rude, has an attitude problem and needs to be properly trained in a customer service. There are plenty of people who would gladly take her job because clearly she doesn’t care for it much. I have been treated better at McDonald’s. I’ll be getting my X-ray somewhere else.Ashley Jones

I've used this place many times before (CT, Mammography, screen/diagnostic and ultrasound). Most technicians are fine but the management is getting worse and worse lately. There is ALWAYS a long wait for mammography, even though everyone's supposed to have an appt. They also force the patients to go through so many ridiculous questions prior to the appt, then you sign in the system as you arrive… Today, after waiting for > 1/2 hour, they told me they didn't have a record that I was waiting!! 🙁 Needless to say, I will not come back here. I only come here because my doctor's are here. My appt was 9:45 I was here a little early. Mobility was bringing someone in and I waited until the person was in the bldg. Both kiosks are in use and I sat and waited for my name to be called. I was called and no one says what window to go to and the lady taking registration s had the nerve to tell me I was late. I didn't realize my neurologist had both test on one sheet and I called to ask that they send me the other sheet. She told me well I don't think they should take because you were late. The office is modern & clean. The staff is friendly and professional. The appointment times are honored and doesn't feel liked they are over booked(I've only been twice). They provide complimentary tea, coffee and water. I do wish they had keys for the private dressing rooms.. Im 40 and this was my first mammogram and despite the mixed reviews on this screening , i must say that the straight fwd screen was fine.. the slanted screen was uncomfortable nearing painful. I had to come back because i have dense tissue and this screen was also uncomfortable but the sonogram wasn't painful. An older paitient told me that though its painful, its necessary and u will get use to it. Honestly, I enjoyed my time. My biggest grievance was that the Disability Support Services didn't specifically target any particular disability. They offered "support" that was not particularly useful for my mathematical disability. Besides that, I met so many great professors who were inspirations for me. The events available to participate in were fun too. I liked Visiting Rep Stage up until that Joseph Ritsch said something offensive to me. Besides that, I felt that Howard Community College provided me with an opportunity to meet new people, enjoy great food, and I guess expand my horizons. Despite the many personal struggles I faced at this community college, I am glad that some professors were understanding and actually took the time to explain things thoroughly to me so that I would not fail. Not your average community college, it feels like it could be a private university if they added some dorms and I love the architecture, its very modern. I love it here all of my professors have been great. Took the (non credit) intro motorcycle class here a few years ago. Class was noted as being for novices but instructors were rude and condescending if you were inexperienced. Harped on those returning to riding and talked down to those of us learning the skill for the first time. Didn't matter if we asked a question they felt was juvenile, or struggled with a skill they expected mastery of without practice, their response was always with a tone. I was recently informed that I still needed to take a computer literacy class before I can apply for the dental hygiene program. When I went to register to test out I was informed that the format changed & alot of students were failing/complaining. On the website it stated we would be tested on windows 10, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. I studied and failed the first time. It's not common knowledge, I use a computer on a daily basis for personal/work. I asked if the test is the same the second time you take it, I was told yes. As soon as I was done taking the first test, I wrote down everything I could remember that was on the exam so I knew what to study. They don't have a study guide. I had 6 full pages of topics I studied that were on the first test, the second test included none of what was on the first exam. I honestly feel like they set you up for failure. I attended one class at BCCC because AACC did not offer a class that I needed. Everything about BCCC was unorganized and unprofessional. I recently requested that a transcript be sent to another school. First of all it took 3 months for the school to receive the transcript and the transcript was incorrect. It has me failing the class when I received a passing grade and it also showed that I withdrew from 2 classes that I never ever signed up for or attended at the school. My GPA was affected in a negative way which ruined my opportunity to attend the 4 year school that I wanted. I can not get in contact with anyone to have this corrected.
