I work here as staff and find the working environment pretty good. My bosses have been good, my coworkers are dependable, and the students seem well behaved and conscientious (most of the time). The new buildings are nice, and the harbor walk is kind of amazing, and the beach is very chill. Good luck finding a place as tranquil anywhere else near the city. There is however one small con and one big con.. the small con is that there aren't that many places to eat and Sodexo runs all the food on campus, and their attempts at ethnic foods are sad. And the aforementioned big con is that there is no less than 3 buildings being built on this tight peninsula right now, and one huge building that was taken down over the year I've been here.. the construction is a mess. Though the new, finished buildings, like the science complex, are great. But if you can take the T somehow, as I do, this place is fantastic.Mikhail M. Nitko

UMASS Boston has a Beautiful campus on the waterfront! It is building two Brand new buildings as student housing with a dinning hall on the first floor, overlooking the Boston harbor with a million dollar view. UMASS Boston has a collaborative research program with Dana Farber Cancer Institute that students can be a part of. I love the new Integrated science center, incubating many New exciting NIH sponsored science research studies. It is an exciting time for UMASS Boston which has a new chancellor with generous scholarship. Chancellor merit scholarship will allow students to get world class education for free.Khuong Nguyen

I am a student here at UMB, the professors are great. The administration is bureaucratic and inefficient and lacks transparency on any basic level. Parking here is dependent upon arrival time. If you get here at 10:20 good luck finding a space in bayside, probably will have to park at the globe. Clinical placement sites for Nursing are good, labs are good, the school is constantly under construction and areas are always being blocked off. Parking will soon cost between 9-15 dollars a day according to emails from the uni. So it’s alright but the university is slowly draining the life of its commuters.Bill Whitney

When a college sends someone to spam your email THREE times about joining seems to me then its not worth singing up for. Got emailed by someone from their staff three times harassing me to join when i had previously shown zero interest but apparently just because she saw my profile on a website. She emails me not once, not twice, but three times begging for a response. While apparently it "may" not be a horrible college i have zero interest in joining and no where near in the area either. Harvard is one of the most prestigious universities in the World and every one wishes to visit it once in a life time. I had this chance to go there and walk around this beautiful institute. The good thing is that it is open for all and everyone could go around and visit. I saw many tourists there enjoying walking and taking photos. The good thing which I liked was that seeing people doing Yoga in the open space and in nature. I liked that and participated with them in yoga. It was nice walking around Harvard university . I would recommend either taking a guided tour or to download and follow the self guided tour so you understand the history behind the university. I loved the library and the story behind it. Unfortunately wasn’t able to go inside but would have loved to. It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review but I am in hopes of MCPHS revising their admissions process for the Physician Assistant Program. I know that I was not the only student this year that was invited to interview and then closed out of an interview spot and placed on a waiting list. When I contacted MCPHS they told me that I may not get to interview after all as they had accidentally invited too many people to interview and did not have the resources to open up more interview dates even though acceptances are not on a rolling basis. How does a top tier medical university not have the resources to interview all the students they invited? By choosing to interview solely the people that happened to secure spots first, not only are they limiting the potential of their incoming class and proving that they only care about filling the spots for monetary reasons, but they are limiting the future of numerous successful students who worked hard to get an interview invitation. When I asked Jordan Hunt (admissions counselor) to make sense of this she was unable to provide a competent answer besides that the university messed up and the incoming students are the ones facing the repercussions. I’m not writing this for myself, but for the other students who were too timid to speak up or who had chosen this school as their top choice and then got screwed. I truly feel bad for some of the other incoming students who do not have other options and were relying on MCPHS. I am very disappointed. MCPHS either needs to change their interviewing process to rolling acceptances (interviewing the top tier students first and then going down the line) or they need to use this model but be willing to open up more dates in case of overflow. Side note: They informed me that students on the waiting list could be notified up to a day before an interview that a spot had opened up. Do they not take into consideration that everyone doesn’t live near Boston or works full-time? Extremely dissatisfied with this supposedly “top tier” medical college.Maddy Frank

Hey guys, good for all the students giving great remarks. I don't know if the school has paid you. I must say i was in the nursing program , ( the set that started 2005) the teachers were very bad. Everything was very difficult, out of 50 students that got into the nursing program only 15 students or even less that graduated from the program. Judy Murphy was very racist, no room for improvement. It was a very bad school. I will recommend another school any day any time as matter off fact the school needs to refund money back to students that paid for tuition. All they care about is your money and not the students. It was a very traumatic experience. It was one of the worst decision i have ever made in life to attend that college. I Owe up to 100,000 in debt with no nursing degree to show for. I thank the Almighty God i got my degree from another school with no stress or frustration. Guys open your eyes and look for another school. I just finished my second-year in PharmD program in MCPHS. I’m gonna transfer to Worcester to study the accelerated program. I have had great time in MCPHS so far. All professors are very nice and friendly. I haven’t met any professor who’s not willing to help student wholeheartedly. They always have office hours to answer students’ inquiries and to clarify the lecture in case the students don’t understand. There are absolutely no discrimination in MCPHS. It’s all about respect. Every MCP student is very welcoming so we have a very close-knit community in MCP. The program is well-designed and bearable. Sometime I feel overwhelmed but it’s not impossible to pass as many people say. You just need to put time and effort and you’ll be fine. In short, MCPHS is a great university for those who seriously pursuit a professional career in pharmacy and health sciences.Bill Nguyen

I attended the reunion this weekend as a husband. It was an overall pleasurable experience. The campus itself is very nice and meticulously maintained. Bathroom facilities adequate but nothing extraordinary. The BBQ on Saturday afternoon was nice because it was on campus in a very nice area. Music a bit loud for mid afternoon. Food, not great. I really liked the coozie they gave out. The class party Saturday night for the 10 year peeps was fascinating. It was inside a recreation center which seemed like an odd choice given the plethora of really nice areas on campus. The food selection there I thought was good but many in the group strongly disagreed with that sentiment. The tortellini was on point even tho it seemed to light a bit of a fire under my seat if you catch my drift. I was a little disappointed at all events that I had to pay 7$ for a bud light after already purchasing tickets. I will say we popped over to the 5 year reunion and wow, what a treat that event was. Overall it was a nice weekend, BC seemed to do my wife well as she is very smart. Her friends are also very cool. So I would recommend the college. We may send our kids there if my plan to hit the lottery multiple times comes to fruition. Mods for life.Joseph Moran

Absolutely horrible when it comes to sports and treatment of opposing teams. They have no respect or boundaries. They completely don't take the announcements before the games seriously when they mention no slurs or prejudice. And campus police or staffing barely stopped them from getting too close to the opposing team when trying to intimidate the opposing team. They slandered the opposing team telling them to go back to their "dirty" city and mentioned not speaking Spanish because they don't speak Spanish there. Shameful! I don't find the students our teachers "snobby", like some reviews suggest. The professors definitely expect hard work and effort, and are pretty demanding. But they also will go out of their way to help you learn, including outside of normal office hours. They truly care that you learn, and don't just churn out degrees like most colleges now. The business graduate school rivals Harvard in quality, but also teaches a technology focus like MIT. You can't beat the grad school here, especially the taxation program.David

School with racist students and irresponsible office of student conduct that doesn’t take things seriously. On April 18th 2021 my girl friend and I were assaulted by three (two male one female) Bentley students. While the director of student conduct did write us back that they were going to follow up with their police detective, no updates were made. I've come across some great professors while being here however, administration has got to be one of the worst I've ever seen (aside from my student advisor Jeff Hogan is great). If you do chose this as your college and decide to study human service or psych stay far away from Steven foster not only is his class unorganized he never graded my final paper and left me to only get credit which dropped my GPA. If you want to enjoy anytime while a student at Cambridge college take all of Robert fladgers classes he's amazing. He makes you look forward to coming to class even when you don't feel like it. I learned a lot from Carole and Jennifer Peppi Carole has accomplished so many great things in the human service field it truley is amazing. Also I enjoyed taking one of my mandatory psych classes with professor Christifaro she was great super fun and made class interesting. I also think they offer a great array of ways to get and finish your education… Online night and weekend classes, most professors are very understanding when you have hit a difficult time in your personal life. Great teachers with a ton of current long term experience in relevant fields. They lend their knowledge to the courses and show relevance. This is a special place where you have to work hard to get a good grade. No slouching here. I'm lucky to have found it. These professors are out there now in the real world, not sitting in an office somewhere, retired and lecturing straight from a book… Great crew !!!! They are homophobic and Dr. Seth actually reprimanded me for coming out as "gay" during a gay marriage discussion in a Life development class. The work is so easy you can be dead and still get an "A". They look for more excuses to take money from you than the IRS. One Professor Judy Bralove MSW purposely told me she wasn't giving me a recommendation so I could go to another graduate school because she wanted to ruin my plans. I told her she was sick. As a homeless full-time Student, I have to say from the bottom of my heart I do not like this school. There is no support for the homeless student except for "student success" – who in fact told me I smelled. The administration lacks ethics and they will laugh in your face, lie to you, and / or give you false or misleading information. I wish I would have just went to a state school. I found Cambridge College through a program called Year Up Boston. I had earned credits at cambridge college through that program and figured I continue my education at said school. I made the wrong decision. Please, to the community of students who are either going through the same or will be because the numbers are increasing, please look at another option. If you want an MBA & you are at a point of your career where having the degree backed with solid work experience will be an advantage.Then Hult is a good place to start with. If one is looking for huge brand equity, big jump and mileage through a high-end alumni network, then they aren’t your brand. ( to make a point here one cant compare them to Harvard etc as they have 30-40 years alumni relationships, standard 24-month programs & well-nurtured communities. Hult is fairly new in the Bootcamp-MBA format to be compared to the stalwarts) Their location & networking events in Finance & Tech Meet-ups has been a huge advantage compared to Bschools located in Tier-2 cities of USA. MBA is genuinely about making real connections, understanding multi-cultural nuances in business situations, creating impact & being hands-on in the ever-changing business world. Hult will give you adequate real experience with those scenarios and the remaining part of the leg-work totally depends on the candidate’s personal goals, funds & motivation Our batch consisted of fair number of candidates who pursued work opportunities in their home countries ( in A-list brands ) as well some sustained the OPT work period ( again with a combination of start-ups, internships & good offers in USA itself) . The short program allows limited opportunities to network well & pursue internships ( which is a key highlight amongst traditional MBA schools. ) One has to factor this aspect while making that informed decision about pursuing work opportunities abroad. Pro ( 4/5) • They are a disruptor in the short MBA format ( the benefits in this case are visible within 3-5 years compared to 1-3 years of one’s career path depending on the socio-global -political-immigration law-recession scenarios) • International locations & diverse learning environment • Cost is relatively less than a traditional 2-year Mba ( the entire 1-year living cost is saved, however the job search post-mba is an additional real cost too ) • Really well-known professors for some of their finance & marketing programs • One recovers the cost of the program within 2-4 years based on the profession, total experience & location of the job hunt/offers. • They are quite prompt in their communication , incorporating changes through the feedback forums. Cons ( 3/5) • Can have a robust career counselling team explaining the multiple factors related to visa (its impact on recruiter, networking aspect)/ career jumps / Job hunt process. ( Each country has their own set of rules and cultural norms for job preps , interview process & skillset training. They can be lot more transparent in their workshops & forums explaining the pro-cons of moving countries, labor laws, migration & worst case scenarios) • Networking & Growth Mindset were the keywords that I heard a lot in our trainings. However being a newbie to the business world in American Landscape even with solid 7+ years of work experience , some more real experiences could have been shared in the workshops. Credits to them for encouraging many conversations. ( However due to the fast pace & high intensity program a lot of it was lost in the information overload part ) • The timing of the graduation month can be planned better. The pass-out batch almost enters the market in the last quarter of the year where hiring reaches a freeze or wait till January situation making it unviable for new students to negotiate well or wait for entire 4 months for kickstart of the new hiring season. An absolute scam. Hult is a degree printing mill run like a small convenience store. It is a vehicle for inept wealthy european and kids to spend a gap year abroad and end up with a degree. Myself and dozen of other classmates from North America were never able to find employment after graduation because employers know that this school is a farce. Also, the school will do the strict minimum in helping you find employment. Going to Hult was seriously the worse decision in my life. It was a waste of time and money. Finally, it is true that it is run by business people. That’s why the statistics they use to promote the school are “enhanced.” For example, they will tell you how post-Hult salaries increased by xxx% without specifying that a lot of the increase is due to the fact that many graduates receive jobs from their parent’s business. In my year, one kid from Belgium got a €200K job after graduation. They mentioned to prospective applicant to demonstrate how amazing Hult is. They just didn’t mention that it was for his dad’s company where he was already working before Hult just at a lower salary.Raoul laskin

One of the world renowned universities, MIT is a must visit place for visitors in Boston. It is just a bridge away from Boston Back Bay – Prudential Center area. Massachusetts Ave runs through the campus and divides into two areas. The stadium is on the west side with older buildings. On the other side is Information Center and newly constructed buildings, halls that host research labs, departments. MIT Museum, temporarily closed, is at Massachusetts Ave and Village St is also a must visit.qlv assoc

Very hard to find parking place. My suggestion is to take public transportation. Also the buildings around the dome are connected each other so it is hard for you to the court in front of the dome unless you have friends who can allow you to enter into the building. The best place to park your car is along the Charles river, not alone with the highway 2A.John Z

So far it has been an amazing ride! It is like Disney World for adults. Sloan admissions staff are very picky, but they do an amazing job of getting humble, down to Earth individuals with simply amazing/impressive backgrounds. Honestly the students here are so amazing. The ocean system (cohorts) are awesome I love my ocean!! What I love about Sloan is that there is sooo much to do. Constant innovation in every activity, class, project. But the SOCIAL LIFE has been unbeatable. Sloanies love to travel, go out and get to know each other. BHP bar every Wednesday, C-Functions (Beer Consumption Functions) on Thursdays, Treks to all over the world (with more than half the class going on these treks), Pre-Function (Trip before Orientation – I got to go to Prague) ski trip, balls, Oktoberfest, Clubs, retreats, the list goes on and on. I can't say enough about my classmates. I feel like I am studying with the next set of billionaires. Definitely a big entrepreneurial culture (even if you are not an entrepreneur like me). The access to the rest of MIT is amazing, having the MIT email alone has given me incredible power to network not just with alumni, but CEOs and entrepreneurs. I came from NY with a Finance background, the finance professors are top notch (already met a handful of MIT finance Nobel Laureates) and being taught by one at the moment. I am so happy that I chose Sloan, I want to stay in Finance, so it was not an easy decision (I was also accepted at 2 other Finance Heavy M7 schools). Questrom is one of the few business schools in Boston where a person can attend evening courses part-time and keep their full-time job. After the Questroms donated here, the caliber of events noticeably got elevated. Great building with large conference rooms, lecture halls, and social spaces. There are many offerings to the public in the form of lectures and receptions. Wolfgang Puck gave a cooking demonstration, free food, and book signing here one time. Our trip to Babson college was a great experience. Abby our tour guide was very informative and personable.The campus was very impressive and had a comfortable welcoming feeling. We toured a bunch of colleges but my daughter fell in love with Babson. Their curriculum was just what she was looking for. They rank as the top entrepreneur school for the past 25 years and their retention and graduation rate is impressively high. It was nice to see how excited she was that she finally had her mind set as Babson as her top choice. She even asked us to buy a bunch of t-shirts and sweatshirts at the school store. As parents we also felt the campus was safe and felt comfortable if she were to attend there. I highly recommend checking out Babson college they have a wide range of programs to fit your needs, you won't be disappointed. We are looking forward to see if she gets accepted.Chad Simons

I recently visited Babson College and did not know what to expect. Upon touring the campus, I must say that I am beyond impressed. It is a very beautiful school. Located near Boston, it is a nice area that is neither too isolated nor overwhelming. The campus tour, guided by Finn and Sam, gave me a glimpse into the school and has made it apparent that Babson is a great place to grow and unleash one’s creativity. This is the worst school anyone could ever go to unless you are looking for a dead beat college full of ignorant people. The education is absolutely terrible, the dorms are disgusting, the kids look like they should be in fourth grade. If you want a school with crap food, wifi, education, living you come to this school. You're better off doing pre requisites at your local community college. This school has given me a terrible experience and I don't recommend coming here at all. The location is the only positive thing that I have to say. Here is my experience as an undergrad CS major: If you work hard, and legitimately give it 100% of your effort, you will do well. For the most part, teachers want to help their students and will try their best to make you prepared for the industry. Words of wisdom: If possible, try and find a nearby space off-campus living to save $ Always do your research on rate-my-professor before picking classes All nighters may happen… Go to office hours if you need to and use all resources available Going to this school has been one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had. I originally transferred from a public college in NYC and I can tell you the difference is NIGHT and DAY. I've seen some real unqualified staff that don't care about their students; but that's not the case at BU. In addition, there are so many clubs and activities. Because there is such a diverse student body, there is something for everyone here. Just put yourself out there and I promise you'll meet some really cool people.Helen Zhang

I am a current student here. Beware if you are looking to go to this school. The name is good… But let's be honest here, it's not Ivy League. Despite that fact, they make you work like a dog for your mediocre grades. I'm talking 150 page papers… 2hr midterms that end at 9pm and then you start another 2hr midterm the next morning at 9am. It's unnecessarily relentless. They push too hard. Also a lot of professors here are terrible. Use ratemyprofessor or a website like it. If you don't you will truly suffer. Plenty are good… But you have to make sure you get the good ones. That's totally up to you. I'm just surprised that for about $75,000 a year they can't manage better. And yes, that's how much it will cost to attend every year if you don't have financial aid or scholarships…. Now that the rant is over I have to add the campus is unbelievably beautiful and it's an awesome location in Boston.Will Kenly

First off, people who rate this place and have not gone here, discredit the ratings. Don't rate until you have gone here. Its as ridiculous as saying you don't like something you have never tried. Professors are far more concerned with themselves and about complaining how much better they are than BU. 1. BU makes a business of pulling scholarships. (and changing scholarship requirements mid semester) 2. One of the smallest endowments for a school of its size. (school less than 1/4th the size blow it out of the water. 3. Terrible alumni relations. Alumni largely want nothing to do with this place after leaving. 4. I have been on interviews with alumni where I am told "I don't hire BU students"Sean Taylor

Simmons is an absolutely terrible school. Not only are the staff and faculty completely disorganized and incompetent, the school has zero name recognition…even in Boston. I went to Simmons because I received an academic scholarship and thought I was making a wise financial decision by enrolling in their nursing program. Huge mistake. I knew after orientation weekend that I had made a horrible life decision. A majority of the girls in my class were flat-out weird. The professors were awful. In my organic chemistry class, I went to visit the professor for help understanding a particular topic. During our meeting, the only advice he provided me with was to "make flashcards." Gee, thanks, idiot. Thankfully, I transferred to a real school after my freshman year and never looked back. Don't let their faux "women empowerment" mantra sway you into thinking this is a good option for higher education. It's not. The student body, faculty, brand is all below average. There are many excellent schools in Boston and the greater Boston area: Boston College, Boston University, Harvard, MIT…heck, even Northeastern blows Simmons out of the water. Please don't settle for attending this no-name school, even if it's free.Jo Lane

I did the online Social Work Master's for only one term. The entire program is very poorly organized. I did not receive a financial aid check until 11 or 12 weeks into the term. The format of the online classes was terrible, class sessions would oftentimes crash or I would lose audio connection. Attempting to speak with financial aid, or advisors was nearly impossible. Even if I had something urgent, the earliest I would receive a reply was a week, sometime I never even received a reply back. If you value your education and an efficient academic process, please do not waste your time, effort, or money on this school. The only positive things I have to say about this school were my interactions with professors, who were very nice and knowledgable and my academic support specialist. Aside from that, everything is mismanaged, poorly organized, and caused more stress and effort than necessary.G.Q. Sage Brown
