She was at the point where it told her she had to pay the $30 application fee to continue. So she did but never did anything after that. Then she decided she wants to go to a different School instead. I've been calling the admission office shortly after that. I've left messages on what this is regarding n NO calls back until Nov 25th from April in admission. I still have the VM. I've called back n again left a message. To this day (March 25), I still haven't heard back n I've been calling!! I finally called the school itself not admission n the lady said. I went to Chesapeake after my service year in AmeriCorps which served as my gap year after high school. I studied Computer Information Systems: PC & Network Management and also took part in the Honors Program as well. The classes within my field always proved beneficial and relatable to what I do on the job and also paved the way for my certifications. The general education courses served their purpose and prevented me from having to take any other ones when I transferred. I had the privilege of experiencing this wonderful college through my sons when they participated in Kids@Carroll/Teen College summer programs! In 2012 our friend, who’s a chemistry teacher, let us know he’d be holding a science/magic summer camp there. My sons began attending that year and didn’t stop until they aged out! CCC was always a highlight of their childhood summers and I am forever grateful. The enrichment and education they received time and time again at such well put together programs with high quality instructors was unmatchable! They enjoyed many of Ken Ecker’s art camps and they still keep in touch with him today! He even makes it a point to wish them each a Happy Birthday every year! He’s such a radically genuine person and an amazing artist! And he still teaches adult and youth programs when he comes down from NYC! He’s simply the best! I always loved how the art camps would culminate with a beautiful art show for parents and friends to attend! I have so many photos on my digital frame from those days and cherish the memories! The housing staff is horrible, they have put 2 charges on my account and they admitted to not knowing how they got my name however they refused to take it off even when the camera showed I never stayed, 3 weeks later I spoke to Hr for them to remove it and they did it the same day. The other one was removed 2 weeks later after the payment date. I would also recommend you bring in your own food or check it before leaving the dinning hall. I found so much mold and was served under cooked to many times. The drinks apply as well check the ice whole before u get if there is black stuff around it use the other machines.(not sure if they are gonna clean up before the fall but there is also mold in between the soda machines) Not only the dinning side but be careful with the soda/juice in the deli side the they both are spoiled. And check the expiration date of each snack you do choose to take I had 3 month old jello and I still can’t get that’s fussy taste out my mouth. Either side will not hesitate to sell old milk or old food and bunch it all up to be given out on the weekends. There is a wëëd problem at this school as well so be careful because if anyone in your dorm doesn’t it you maybe be accused of doing it as well by the campus police. Not on to the professors, you need to hold some of their hand and walk them three days the grading process. I had 3 professors(1 was in person and the other 2 was online) last semester wait til the end of the semester to grade everyone from my midterms to out introductions at the beginning. For online teachers make sure you double check their comments after they grade and read up on stuff ahead of time so u can message them early because they don’t respond to message in a timely manner. Navarro College was STELLAR! As a former Bulldog, I'm proud to have called this school my home. Professors are knowledgeable and interesting individuals, the staff are all charming and helpful, and the atmosphere of the entire facility is one of safety and growth. Plus, Dr. Fagan (the man in charge of it all) is incredibly personable and makes a point of greeting and interacting with students every chance he gets! The staff at the Corsicana campus are very rude. Upon inquiring about something the registrar didn’t know about; she went on to yell at me over the counter while the lobby was full of other students. There are only a handful of instructors that are dedicated and willing to see their students succeed. I've been attending FCC since summer of 2016 and will graduate, god willing, this spring 2019. Full time, year round, no breaks. Although parking requires at least an hour grace period, I believe the over all experience is what you make it. I've come across rude people maybe having a bad day and I've had instructors I could not relate to. Its all very frustrating. Its sad to say the success rate at this college is 17%. But, then again this is an adult school. Nobodies going to call your house when your absent or hold a parent-teacher conference when your not doing your work. I am working on a Human Service degree and have enjoyed the ups and downs of my classes. The load was a little heavier in a few and I had to buckle down and utilize the tutorial, ETC, PASS, Computer lab and all other resources available. In all the those places I found the staff and student help extremely eager to be of service. The assistance was much appreciated. I am not speaking for this business itself, merely the college district's education quality. I have taken classes at Fresno, Clovis, and Reedley Community College, and I have had an absolutely deplorable time. I don't feel like I'm getting anything from the classes; I don't feel the staff is prepared to teach online, if at all. If you are going to teach college-level English, you should not make punctuation and grammatical errors consistently. If you are teaching a law class, you should not do it from inherent bias and perspective. If you are conducting an online course, you should not have to hold up a piece of paper because you don't know how to make a slide. I have literary spent a whole semester running back and forth filling our paperwork and checking to see if they’ve received my financial aid application. I took several courses at Merritt, initially thinking it would be easy, just because it's a community college. I was VERY mistaken. The courses I took were rigorous and the instructors had high standards of expectation. The curriculum was no skate. My experience there was great and I would recommend this college to anyone. The website is so complicated and ambiguous it takes at good half hour to find what you need. When you finally get their the function usually doesn't work! The campus signs and layout are horrible. This is my Story: Being an International Student at Santa Fe College is the worst thing that can happen to you. Besides that your tuition is 3 times more just for being an immigrant, they don't offer scholarships. Why we are not allow to get help? because we are just seem as a profit. Also, we do not get the benefit to choose how many classes we want to take because we are "required" to be full-time. We can only take one class online for semester. This post is about my tuition and what they did to me at Santa Fe. I apply for a student loan because I couldn't pay the ridiculous amount of money, but what happened is that the "amazing people" at financial aid didn't processed my loan, so my classes got drop. I talked with everyone at Santa Fe for help, even trying a payment plan but the last day to add/drop classes just passed. I brought all my papers signed of my loan to financial aid, and they told me that nothing can be done to help me. They just play with me sending me to person to person making lose my time and nobody helped me. Whenever I went to cashier's office and told what my situation was this lady after treating me horrible told me "we don't care about your situation, we just need the $6,000 today or you can start saying "goodbye" to your visa. I feel really glad about the help that they didn't give me, by the end of this semester I am going to be back in Venezuela because they did nothing to help me keep my visa status. SF College is nice and affordable for local kids; however, they are not at all equipped to handle international students' concerns. Staff that students interact on a day to day basis are made up of mostly underpaid student workers, and their answer to every question is a default "No". It is really frustrating. You can immediately see and feel the difference between this small state college and your typical large, internationally experienced university. Nonetheless, in-house faculty do a decent job teaching courses. I can't say the same about Santa Fe's adjunct instructors. Some are truly clueless (though it is not their fault; poor adjunct instructors are so underpaid that it made my jaw drop when I heard how much they make per semester). As a student who wants to actually learn the material, your best bet would be to register early for courses based on the instructors offering them. Overall, Santa Fe College is an affordable stepping stone to a larger University, such as their next door neighbor UF. I suppose it would also be a nice option for regional kids from lower to middle-income families. But that's about all the credit I can give to Santa Fe College. Culturally, it is lacking diversity. Went there in 2012 right after HS from Orlando. I went there to hopefully transfer to UF. The system failed me. The guidance counselors did nothing to guide me, I got depressed there and failed. I was a very good student in high school(top 5% with both IB and AP-full coursework) until 12th grade a personal event happened and I stopped attending and starting failing but still graduated. This is why I had to go to SF college as my gpa dropped to be able to to to UF. I had a 2030 on the SAT in HS as well. I was highly able to do well at SF but they failed me by not giving proper guidance or support and it ruined my whole college career as they didn’t accept my appeals for late withdrawal and I was stuck with a horrible GPA that ruined my life.Anonymous Someone

Overall, an okay community college experience so far from 2019 to 2022 (I took some summers off). The registration process for me was a nightmare. OpenCC upon some of the other processes were buggy, nonfunctional, or unclear. Despite this, I have to give them slack as when I was applying they were revamping their websites significantly. There's a mixed bag of good and bad staff. Some professors will be insanely rude, not understanding, and sometimes not even lecture properly on the topic at hand. Other professors will be really kind, understanding, and actively willing to work with you. Always look up the professor on Rate My Professor!!! Eservices, Canvas, and Counseling are atrocious. Eservices has been buggy at times or down for multiple hours. Canvas is usually a decent online learning tool, but sometimes it can get buggy and is not always accessibility friendly (as seen by not having a dark mode for example). I recall a time when Canvas was down due to the host servers, which are owned by Amazon, were completely offline. Counseling is not always helpful in guiding you to where to go next, will sometimes not even answer calls nor emails, and can get really busy (even with the switch from the old building to the Welcome and Support Center). I suggest looking up some information yourself on ARCs website first before talking to counselors, such as course catalogs or what classes you might take for a specific associates degree. I wish that counseling would still give out PHYSICAL course catalogs, but it is what it is. Finance is usually okay for parking passes, but other services is like pulling teeth. Communication on what is going on campus varies from good to poor. An example of this is when the pandemic began around midterms and there was the report of two people being exposed to Covid on campus, which caused mass panic and multiple people just walking out of class. Parking can sometimes be an issue, so be prepared to walk a little bit. Also, you will need a parking pass from a kiosk or buy a parking pass permit for the semester. Bathrooms could use some work. I recall a time where after flushing the bathroom started to flood. Food choices were fairly solid. If you were going to Starbucks or Subway during lunch, lines would get long. Only food offered on campus now is either from the student store, the cafeteria, the Oak Cafe, or the few vending machines on campus. Off campus, there's quite a few food places around, such as Lis Mongolian BBQ, Chik Fil A, and In-N-Out. The bookstore has been unorganized in the past, but is relatively chilled back and clean nowadays. Be warned that some things will be overpriced, but that's normal for college. Also, don't be shocked if there's a hassle with ordered books or book returns for refunds.Emily “Emma Anne” Branecki

It's almost like 90% of the people who work here will be rude over the phone and tell you to do everything online. They have messed up most of my paperwork, resulting in me having to resubmit residency forms, application forms, proof of ID. Somehow they put me as out-of-state which includes a 900% markup per credit. I went from expecting a $150 bill for a single class and ended up with a $1200 bill. No one wants to help sort it out. No one wants to answer the phone. The website is difficult to navigate. Honestly, I have had a single positive experience with one person in Admissions, and everyone else has been pushy, rude, dismissive, and argumentative. I am considering switching to literally any other school in the district. My partner attends SCC and it's laughable how smoothly they handled his transition back to school, compared to mine. Edit: it should also be noted that I had applied to ARC 4 times since 2013 and never received a welcome letter. I had emailed asking why I applied and was not told anything, or emailed, called – nothing. I got no response. Called last month because I was at my wits end and I am told "I can't give you a student ID number because your application was DENIED." I asked why and she told me she couldnt tell me. I asked for a supervisor who immediately told me "we have the wrong SSN for you, so none of your applications were accepted because it didn't watch our records." My CORRECT SSN, was being rejected. In 8 YEARS NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THIS. Just like they didn't tell me I was listed as out of state, despite submitting residency information multiple times. This school is a JOKEI Illyria

The college is great..,.. the bookstore however is 1 star at best. The school district sub-contracted it out and the new facilitators understand that they have a built in market from people having to use their financial aid or other assorted vouchers from various Govt entities and as a result they practice poor customer service utilizing people that are quite adept at rapid fire litanies telling you why none of the delays or shortages are their concern or problem. In fact in my opinion 90% of their employees that deal with the public are nothing more than thugs and bully's. They take no responsibility for faulty instructions in how to use the new book site with vouchers and tell you that they are "saaaawrrrrry" when they tell you they can't locate your books and give you a date when they will be in. Once again, in my opinion, they are nothing more than petty tyrants and bullies that should have their contract terminated for lack of accountability on their part. First off, it is an institute of technology, not a university. NASA applications say "Technology institute graduates need not apply." NASA isn't alone in this. I had 5 different advisors by the end of my 1st month. No one could be bothered. My final advisor was the department chair, and when he "helped" me sign up for 3 classes, 1 was class was held in Washington, and another class wasn't even scheduled for that term, so I was left with one class that term. The next term, like the term before, I needed a unique password to register for classes. Only problem was the only person who could give me the password, my advisor, was on vacation. I had to talk with his superiors to get him to reply to my email for the password. When he replied, he had an attitude. This kind of think happened in so many different ways, I just washed my hands of this school. It took them 3 terms just to get me my student ID card. Anytime I had a academic, not scholastic, question, it usually takes about 2 hours of being bounced around from building to building, often the same buildings, having to talk to the same people, because no one can be bothered. Eventually after the 3rd time of me coming back to someone to ask the same question, I'll get a big sigh and finally an answer.Tim DuDD

OIT is a great school of Engineering. Pros 1- Average students in the class between 10 to 25, so that is very good to ask and participate as well as most of the professors can easily recognize each student. 2- Reasonable professors. 3- OIT located in Klamath City which is small and cheap town. 4- Easy to get high grade if you do all your HW, NO absent , more participation. 5 – Library stuff is very helpful. 6- Safe and good place to study in. 7- US News classified Oregon Tech as one of the best five universities. Cons: 1- Library hours are very terrible. 2- Klamath City is not active city, after 7 pm every one dies. 3- There is nothing to do if you have free time except outdoor activities. 4- Heath Center is really wasteful.Mohammed Asiri

I've worked at four public universities across the country, and Oregon Tech has the most engaged and dedicated faculty and staff I've ever encountered. Students benefit from small class sizes and many opportunities for hands-on applied learning. Students I assist in Career Services are focused, dedicated and mature. The administration is proud of being career-focused but also recognizes the benefits of teaching soft skills. Oregon Tech is also increasing its emphasis on providing students with experiences that will translate to exceptional workplace skills, like working on cross functional student team projects. I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

I took an introduction to welding class for fun and to improve my skill set. The staff for the class are extremely knowledgeable and approachable. I learned a lot more than I ever expected in the classroom portion. I would have liked a little more shop time but the staff is there from early morning for the full-time students until after our class ended (between 8-9pm) so You can’t expect much more from them in that regard. Excellent facilities. It’s definitely worth the investment of only a couple hundred bucks.W Scott

I had a great tour of Dixie Tech and it’s new buildings, it was surprising to me how nice they were given their location. Their service was exceptional, the front desk was very helpful and my recruiter Dillon Hurt was great about filling me in on everything Dixie Tech has to offer. Annoying town to live in. Southern hospitality doesnt exist in Boone. Its full of stuck up hippies. Counting down the days till I transfer to Colorado. If you're transferring here, good luck. My girlfriend has been petitioning classes that they haven't counted since she first got here. They're screwing her out of 27 credit hours that she finished at her old school. Math department is atrocious. I'm in college algebra now and the teacher lost my first test because she took priority in grading a 2 page paper on success before she graded the test. Also, if you're coming here to watch football, the atmosphere sucks. More than half of the crowd is out of the stadium before halftime. Hardly anyone actually cares about the team, they just use it as an excuse to tailgate and get trashed in a public parking lot.Chris King

Was a very good experience. Best was the faculty, who are from all over the country and internationally as well. I attended another college for a second degree after ASU and had a bad experience which really highlighted how superior ASU's instruction and advice really was. They do not waste your time. If there was a downside, it was probably the fact that many of the students are from western North Carolina, so some of the perspectives were a bit of a culture shock for me. They have several excellent programs, particularly business, music, education, art, as well as some unusual programs like communications disorders.JW41926

Attending this school has been the worst experience that I have EVER had! From advisor who do not know what they are doing to transcript office personal that have very bad attitudes and are extremely rude. The instructors in HVAC-R are knowledgeable and relatable, however I am disappointed that there are no night classes the second year making it difficult for those who have other responsibilities to work full time and go to school. Also I feel the curriculum schedule makes it to where you teach yourself and the instructors go over what you read instead of the regular cover it in class then do homework. A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . I never had problems with anything else in the college but the professors cause I expect more and I also think cause the college got a lot of non white american people that they slack a lot and that's sad.clyde sparks,jr

Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. For people who are curious about the diversity of this school, these are my personal percentages of what i see; 20% – Asian 20% – African American 30% – Hispanic 30% – White/European Overall, its a good school to just do your 2 years in and get out.Paul The Pigeon

The administration does not care about you. They do not care if you are a student or an employee, they do not care about you. They do not care about your kids, they do not care about the job you have to work on the weekend to make ends meet. The top administration will continue to rake in money for themselves and make sure they’re providing both employees and students with as little as they possibly can. All you are is either potential money or potential labor. You are a commodity to be used to the benefit of people you don’t even know. The highest paid are coiffed and in state owned vehicles while the people that actually work with the students wonder if they’ll have enough money for food.Leann Cooper

The entire art department is a joke. Calhoun has crippled its own photography program by getting rid of the best studio photography teacher it has probably ever had just because he didn't have a degree yet he's been a professional working photographer for about 30 years. Calhoun has a bad history of hiring people to teach that don't do their job. The dean and the underlings don't care if you have a problem if it affects their staff. Calhoun is famous for minimizing the parking spaces despite the rising number of students attending each year. The financial aid department is worthless too. I'm transferring to Wallace State instead of going back to Calhoun to earn my degree.BringPopcorn

What I love about Calhoun is that they want to make sure you know how to do. Hands down Calhoun is one of the be places to study IT in the state. The classes are small enough that you are able to get hands on training and your taught by instructors who work in the field. Not someone who is good at taking test and decided to teach. The only complaint I have is that Calhoun should try to improve the student experience more. It's hard to accomplish considering most students are only there 1-2 years but there should be more university sponsored events live movie nights, dances, etc.Christoper J

Most professors are very kind. The school as reopened for in-person learning. The food and library are open. Staff, students, and visitors will need to fill out a health screen to be on campus. (I'd say take a screenshot to easily show the green check) The construction in the middle of campus is done and the beautiful campus is opened up. I like the school, and the professors are great. All of the professors I have taken have been kind. However, the staff- Araceli the manager from the mission college bookstore is extremely rude. She lacks customer service skills. She will yell at you in front of the entire store to the point where everyone is staring. I have had two negative encounters with her, and I am a very polite person. I have kept my calm even after being completely humiliated by her.Samantha Cruz

Mission College has one of the most supportive and enthusiastic professors. I enjoy coming in to all of my classes because they engage me into their lesson plans. Not only that but they make sure that all of their students are understanding the assignments and offer alternative support systems for them to succeed in the classroom. Putting a review in on behalf of my experience in the auto tech side of CWI. Absolute nightmare and a waste of about $10000. The instructors are unbelievably rude, lazy, and unorganized I guess you would say. I went there for about 2 1/2 total years. One instructor that I’m not gonna name because he was the only good instructor dropped down from a higher position in the school because all the staff was complaining and not actually getting stuff done. Apparently that reflected on him but nobody listened so he just stepped away from the position and let Alex take it. 2 other instructors quit during my time there. Drug testing there seemed to be a trend for testing all other ethnicities except Caucasians, 2 per class. All I’m gonna say about that sense it’s a sensitive subject. John D, needs to be fired. Called me “boy” after I nicely asked him to call me by my name “Alex” and proceeded to scream at me making a scene for the whole class over me missing the last 15 minutes of class for a once in a life time opportunity for most people. He also tried to fail me by doing everything he could to not help me catch up in class after I got extremely sick for about a week and a half and had to go to the hospital. Scott the electrical instructor. He just lectures you for literally 4 1/2 hours and makes pointless jokes that aren’t funny at all and wastes more time. CWI did acknowledge that problem and talked to the students about it but ended up doing nothing. Your last half an hour to an hour of class with Scott is hands on time with an actual vehicle and guess what? Scott usually disappears until the last 10 minutes of class because Scott has 2 jobs and doesn’t really care about his students success. The $10000 waste is all the expensive tools and that $5000 Snap On box that they basically tell the students you absolutely need even though you really don’t touch your tools all that much. And finally the timing of lying eventually gets unbearable. With the tension between John D and I he went behind my back told Alex a bunch of lies such as I’m not doing enough, I’m not being hands on, I’m missing during class, and I’m being disrespectful to him which resulted in me being set in a self made intervention because apparently to Alex instructors are always right. After the whole intervention I had to tell John D when I had to go to the bathroom and after class I had to go spend 30 minutes finding Alex to tell him one thing I learned in class today. Sounds a lot like kindergarten. This resulted in me having a bad relationship with my managers at work(auto industry job CWI told me I had to have to graduate) and losing my job for constantly being late. I also quit CWI because 2 years of being a rag doll for working my butt off eventually gets old believe it or not. Fighting through the depression and anger wasn’t worth the degree in my opinion. This was my experience at CWI and I truly hope yours is different but I would explore your options before you just throw yourself into that school.Alex Hartley

If i could rate this school a 0 i would. I recently moved from out of state, and just started my first semester at this school. My fiance and i have numerous issues, and it's only the second week of class. If you want financial aid from this school, good luck its a joke. We've been working on financial aid since FEBRUARY and still don't have it. We go to "one stop" and they say "oh no, you need this this this and this". Okay, fine so we would do that and go back to turn in what they wanted, then it was "nope that's all wrong you don't need any of this, this is what you need". It's been a ton of loopholes and i feel as if the staff aren't trained properly and we've been told different things every time. Their website is outdated and way behind other schools. Blackboard is unorganized, their payment plans are a joke. I had issues just trying to buy my textbooks, you would think that would be simple right?! Not at this school. They have a 10% graduation rate and i can see why. They make me want to move just to find a better school. Don't take online classes either because there teachers drop you for "nonattendance" when really their just unorganized and can't correctly check the assignments via the students. CWI in conclusion is affordable. The education meets expectations, teachers are helpful/colorful, classrooms are medium size like high school; so you get the student participation/feedback that assists you in your development and growth. Its a little dull but if you work, your older, or are looking for parallel education to other schools at half the price CWI is fine. If you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or Cal University.Cody

I have been trying to see a counselor, and so far I have come to the counseling department more than five times. Anytime I went there, they said that there are a lot of students so go come back tomorrow at 8:00 am. When I went there at 8:00 am the next day, they said oh we don't do walk ins, you can go today, but for tomorrow give us a call to confirm if there is any counselor available. I did call them the day before coming they said yes come around 8:00 am you will for sure see a counselor, I got there at 8:00 am, but unfortunately again they said that there are a lot of students and they only have one counselor. I don't know what game do they play with students, I missed going to work for 3 days, and it seems that I might not be able to take any classes this summer just because of not being able to see a counselor. I request the authorities of this nice college to pay attention to this problem, and find some possible ways of solution since the students need to have updated Educationan Plans.Tawfiq Sediqi

This college is a freaking mess and very unorganized!!!! Fist visit, they told me counseling was open until 4:30pm. Got there at 3:34pm and said they stop at 3pm. They told me to come back tomorrow and they will do counseling till 4pm. I got early from work the nex day, and when I get to the counseling office, they said they are not doing counseling today! They tell me to come back tomorrow. They couldn't take appointments because they were too busy that week. I come back the next day, my job let me get off early again, when I get to the counseling they tell me their system is down! They tell me to come back on Saturday for the event. They tell me counseling and student services will be open. I'm here at the counseling at 10am, they freaking tell me no counselors today, they are only taking picture for IDS !!!! This is the worse experience I had. Very unprofessional, not organized!!!! I'm very upset!!!!!Miriam Gal

ACC is the best Community College in Colorado period. A large fraction of the teachers employed here are ex-Ivy League professors. My intro to business teacher was a top business professor at Clemson University. Most professors have PhD’s as opposed to a master’s degree. The grading process is very fair and these professors really care about your education and will go above and beyond to see that you succeed, granted you actually seek the help this is college people the teachers most likely aren’t going to come to you. There are so many different resources, including, but not limited too: Free tutors who are amazing ( in my opinion better than if you hired one), teachers who actually care about your future and present situations, book store/school supplies store on campus, a cafe with Caribou coffee, a milkshake machine and other great snacks, there are plenty of different areas to do school work or study that are very comfortable and convenient, they have hundreds if not thousands of majors and minors to choose from you want it, they’ve got it and so much more. Arapahoe Community College is by far the greatest her in Colorado. It is not overly priced the tuition rates are so great basically you can receive an Ivy League education for 10-15k per year. It’s an amazing way to save money especially when you are planning to go to a big university. Better to spend 10-15k on required pre- requisite classes, AKA GenEd rather than 25-75k. And since ACC has such amazingly qualified professors you won’t be behind , or unable to transfer successfully to a 4-year university, you will be able to make a smooth transition. Veteran student here, all I can say is this school has been a waste of my benefits. The administration is aware that they are understaffed, busy, and stretched far too thin. Though nothing has changed not just with ACC but CCCS as well. There was a total of 4 semesters dealing with covid and distance learning, and there was no change in how it felt to learn from Spring 2020 till this past Spring 21. Four semesters with no change in how classes are taught, how students are engaged, how professors make sure that you are understanding the information, the list goes on and on. I had given up in most of my classes that I took here. I have felt everything but motivation, and determination to want to participate and study. The course I am studied in was faulty and dated. The introductory class alone is dated and will not prepare you for what it is to be an interior designer let alone give an actual representation of the work done in the field. I didn't learn to sketch, read floor plans, study the design process, bubble charts, box charts. I LEARNED HOW TO DECORATE. It was also very clear that if you wanted to decorate and only decorate you would do well in this program. I can’t believe how much this organization has failed its students and faculty. Save your scholarships, grants, and VA benefits and go else were.David Pratt

I’m seriously contemplating whether I to stop attending ACC. It doesn’t make since that online classes cost $100 extra per credit when a professor has you read chapters, and answer the chapter questions and do a weekly discussion question. There was no feedback to where I could know if I was grasping the concepts. I’d rather research what books each class provides and read them on my own then Pay $900 to a teacher that doesn’t communicate with us at all. On top of that, I experienced a micro-aggression during my final presentation where my professor asked if my business sold burritos because we were a Latino museum… This school needs to work with educating their teachers to learn how to treat their diverse students with respect and dignity. I was really excited to jump back into school. I had an entire plan but now I may just revise it and not include anymore investment at ACC.Victoria Gonzalez
