We were working on our project (Our Green Hope) today where we used 3000 reusable bags to make the largest mosaic. The worker at the campus were friendly and supportive. After finishing the project, all the 3K bags were given for FREE at Kroger to encourage people to start using reusable bags instead of plastic grocery bags. Terrible business. They sold me books that I didnt need for classes. They wouldn't refund me nor buy the books back. MThey sold me a used loose leaf History book and my HIS 109 book was missing pages. when I talked to the lady just now, she wouldn't do anything about it, handed me one of my other books and said they have enough of them right now. She had a terrible attitude when all I showed was respect. I paid over $480 to this bookstore, all I got was disrespect and inconvenience. I will not be purchasing my books or software through the campus bookstore any longer. I've been treated like garbage just for walking through the door.Ross Daugherty

Im a criminal Justice major and i like program except one huge thing it needs more hands traning so you prepared for the job once you graduate and not have move on for four degree and they need to have dorminties to live on i hardly see people on campus it almost empety they have two many campuses they need to have one and the paint falling off the school. The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

I don’t even know where to begin with this place. First of all if you are considering going here you need to run in the opposite direction. I moved here from out of state and gave this institution 10,000 of my dollars just to be disrespected and ridiculed by the faculty and staff. My high school teachers were more competent and respectful than anyone here. The school is run down and smells like mildew other than the main building they use to advertise this place. I did not learn one single thing the entire time I was here and let it be known that I am now graduating to be a medical professional so I was not the problem. Be careful if using MYCAA to pay for classes, regardless of whether or not you submit on your end on time. If the school doesn't submit it on time on their end (as in my case) you'll receive a dozen and a half reminders that tuition is due (the school doesn't handle MYCAA and the funds get sent to the student to then pass on to the school and if it's not paid by "x" date at "x" time classes are dropped. Had I of known this, I would have applied for schooling elsewhere. Waste of time. Not everyone wants or needs to use FAFSA………Courtney Myszewski

No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Plus If you miss 1 point on your exam you lose the whole course and have to do it again because they don't give you another chance to take another test even for one point and expected to pay all again.so you waste your time,your money..and all over it the instructor says that if English is not your first language you are in the wrong place and makes comments all the time about people's accents. Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I absolutely have no regrets about this school, and I enjoyed my time there.Kevin Frazier

I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. Stark State also always keeps their students in the know through text message and emails. They give you the tools you need in order to succeed. Highly recommend this college!elisabeth brian

I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

Not a fan of this place but sadly do not have many options in my area staff say they are always there yet when you need them seem to be nowhere to be seen I called numerous times and non stop to a woman named Kim Ford she would never answer an I couldn't get a hold of anyone she was very rude an when I tried to drop the class felt like she was bullying me an teasing me for the reason she took a private matter an made it into a joke as I read her notes she sent to the other staff who work there. I felt embarrassed and violated that she would turn a private matter into a joke…and I also thought it was very convenient for her to finally answer her phone after the time was up that I would be charged for dropping the class…she is very uptight snarky and has a giant ego. Dealing with the staff here is difficult sometimes. I was supposed to start this past fall semester, and was told for three months via email that I was ready to go and that all I need to do was come down and register for my classes. I ended up waiting until the last day (which is my part of the fault in this, I should've gone sooneer) to go down to register for my classes. I sit and wait for two and a half hours, which I understand, they were busy. Then I get back to the advisor and she tells me there is a $20 transcript review fee that I haven't paid, and that because the registrar left a half hour ago while I was in the waiting room, I now could either pay my tuition out of pocket, or not go, even though I had the $20 for the fee in my hand. Nice and clean campus seems to be well organized, the technical department seems very organized with all the tools and the training necessary to be prepared for my job. The campus was so clean and so organized that I think I will sign my wife up so she can start classes in the fall. We even showed up before classes were to supposed to start, and the security guard was good about letting us in, it was pretty cold, I hope somebody checked on him cuz he had to walk what seems like miles just to come open the door for us. 😁Ryan Archibald

I have had an amazing experience with Herzing University! I am excelling in my degree choice and I couldn't be more satisfied with my learning experience and the flexibility that the online program gives me.The instructors are all willing to help whenever I have a question, and if they see many students struggling with something, they will post an announcement with some helpful tips on how to proceed through our courses. The learning material is easy to understand, the discussion boards really help me connect with my classmates more than I normally would, the library is full of everything you might need for your studies, and the Coach rooms and Tutoring center are very helpful! I have seen many posts off and on about how students struggled in this school. I have to say the most common thing I see students struggling from in these courses is not doing the assigned work on time, not participating in the discussions, and not following the assigned directions on assignments. We have to take responsibility and do our work (on time!) or we will not succeed, and we should not blame someone else for our lack of trying. Just with everything else in life, if you do not put any effort into something, you will not gain anything from it. I stared with Herzing back in 2013 for my undergrad BSN RN. At that time, school was still establishing itself, therefore, I had some rough time getting through the program, but overall my experience was good. This year I came back for my MSN FNP and let me tell you ))) My experience with Herzing in 2019 is absolutely amazing. This school grew so much! Veteran Review: I attended COTC and graduated with an Associates in Nursing. I can say that it was very cumbersome to attend COTC as a veteran. I utilized my Tuition assistance and needed to "push them along" the entire way. Every semester I had to contact veterans affairs and tell them what I needed them to do to approve TA. My understanding is that they needed prompted in every way and every time I needed something completed to allow me access to my tuition assistance. This includes having to pay for a semester out of pocket do to their delay in assistance and lack of ability to complete my necessary needs on their own. From my understanding, they should understand this. I am currently attempting to apply for my bachelors 2 semesters later and I am unable to receive tuition assistance, because COTC has not submitted my graduated status to TA and I am unable to attend classes as a consequence to said incident. All said and done: If you are a veteran, be prepared to coax COTC along to get what you need.SSG Ben Moran RN

I had a very close immediate relative die during summer semester. When my immediate relative had a stroke, I did not notify my professors on the matter. Sorry, my thoughts are not on telling my online professors about my relative bleeding in the brain. My time was spent in the hospital, hospice, and at work. I missed a few assignments but notified my professors at my earliest convenience. The work was completed. Professor Sample for PSY-210-NA failed me on multiple assignments, accused me of plagiarizing from a blog, and is the reason I will not be graduating this semester from COTC. The plagiarizing accusation is because I had "similar sentences of a blog post." What a joke. Never take a class as Professor Sample as your professor. Do yourself a favor and just go to a different school. I will NOT be going back there. President Coe and other faculty members at COTC I contacted did not help in any matter. Of course, they took the side of Professor Sample.Adam A

I… HATE… COTC! Its the nightmare that will never end. My husband leaves for the military in one week… His recruiter needs his college transcript, so that he can get a higher ranking, more pay and one of the jobs he wants. All he needs is the transcript. We went in on the 22nd and paid extra to have the transcript sent. They told us they would send it out that day or the next. Well today we saw his recruiter and he STILL hasn't received the transcript. We went into COTC and had to talk to them AGAIN about this. Oh did I forget to mention that when my husband first started seeing his recruiter, he paid extra to have his transcript and then they handed it to my husband, therefore making it unacceptable to the Air Force. This is not even close to the first problem either of us has had with them. Oh, maybe you all should check out there 'graduation rate.' Less than 20 percent of people even graduate! I went to Delaware County Community College part time for four years after high school. It's one of the best decisions I ever made. I really didn't know what I wanted to do right out of high school and I didn't want to go to a super expensive university and still not be sure. I started out with general studies. I just finished my Liberal Arts associate's degree there this past spring. I enjoyed my time at this school. I got to take a lot of different classes to really figure out what I like and what I dislike, and it's way more affordable to do that here. The campus is beautiful, especially the STEM center. There's lots of helpful services and the professors I had were great. I'm now transfering to another school to study graphic design and I feel like DCCC helped me get on the right track. The cost isn't horrible and the classes are similar to classes offered by four year universities. The problems I have lie with the administration (financial aid, career center, cashier office.) They do not know how to deal with students in a timely, concise manner. I was unable to get in and complete a single course for the last two years due to administrative problems, even though I had been with them previously. How does a college have a faculty that can't answer any questions pertaining to activities that go on campus. there are 4 kids to a room and marijuana smoke fills the air. You complain to faculty that you were not around anytime that this is found by staff with proof of your where abouts each and everytime. I don't smoke at all. I have a scholarship to go to this school and they kicked me out due to no one coming clean about the marijuana. I don't think I was treated fairly. I don't go here nor do I know anyone who does. We visited for a wrestling tournament. The gym they used was utterly disgusting. Dirty as hell. Garbage was shoved everywhere. There was a baby bottle!!! This is right when they opened. You are going to tell me there is no custodians or even volunteers to clean it up knowing there are visitors coming?? This college misguides students frequently. Be careful what your advisor tells you and they tend to swap your own major without your permission. I’ve lost thousands of dollars due to the unmanaged people that work here. This place has a low tuition cost for a reason. I attended Sullivan for their culinary arts program and I have some insight for future students going into the program. First being, have an idea for what you're wanting to achieve in life. Culinary school is very expensive for what you get and there are other, more cost efficient ways to achieve your goals. I recommend working in the industry for at least two years before you decide to go to culinary school. You will find a lot of well-known chefs didn't graduate culinary school. Everything you are learning in school can be self taught or learned in the industry.The key to becoming a great chef is the understanding of the industry. I say this all because at Sullivan its just a matter of time before you're screwed over by financial aid. The entire department is very disorganized. Important papers of mine seemed to keep going missing in their hands making my life very stressful. Also if you plan on doing on campus housing just DON'T. It is crazy expensive and it is exactly like high school. I loved my time at Sullivan don't get me wrong but is it worth the money you spend, NO.Annah Cecil

I haven't had any problems with Sullivan. I have been here for about 6 months and after attending JCC and UofL I must say Sullivan has already given me a much better experience. JCC and UofL let me (at 18) pick a bunch of random classes that were way too hard and never got back to me about any issues, it took way too long to get in touch with anyone for meetings or questions and at Sullivan they are always a quick phone call or office visit away. Teachers seem to really care and take the time to call you on their off time to congratulate you on good test scores, inquire why you are missing class, or pull you aside in class if you are on the brink or failing or even on the brink of getting an "A". If you don't miss a lot of class there won't be any problems, and there are even students in my classes who are active duty and miss class a lot and teachers have been as accommodating as possible. I can honestly say that transferring to Sullivan University from the University of Louisville was one of the best decisions I ever made. Class sizes are small, so it's easy to ask questions and get help if you need it. The instructor's here aren't just trying to "push you through", they actually care that you learn the material. The food served in the cafeteria is great and all of the staff/personnel are super helpful and friendly. My only complaint however would be the financial planning office. Some of the advisers can be kind of rude and you have to constantly call/send e-mails just to get a response for an appointment, in my experience. It's best to just show-up in person and request a meeting. Other than that, I would highly recommend Sullivan University to potential students.Brea M

As someone who isn’t from the USA and relocated from United Kingdom , it was important that I made the correct choice when it came to education in the United States , after doing my research and reaching out to different schools who have a massage program I chose gateway because from the first contact with Mr Tapscott he was super friendly , passionate and helpful , he made sure I had all the information I needed and he directed me to the right place to complete my registration to the program . The price is amazing and they definitely can charge way more for the service they provide , gateway and especially Mr Tapscott made the process so easy and comfortable . My first day of class was so welcoming and they went the extra mile to make sure I/ we students were comfortable , I had the best experience at gateway and this experience was due to my fellow classmates but mostly for the teachers attitude and pride in teaching , Mr Tapscott , ms bouer, and mr Ybarra were amazing , they are so good at what they do and the effort and dedication they put in to each and every student sets them apart from any other education opportunity I’ve taken , we created a family and this includes the teachers , they allowed us to learn at our own pace and didn’t disrespect us , they encouraged us , the material in the program was inspiring and the method of teaching made the learning fun , it was a pleasure to go to gateway for the 9 months of the program and I looked forward to seeing my teachers and classmates everyday throughout the course , the program allows for Externship which gives us the opportunity to work with others in the community also work with employers of massage therapy , it gives you an insight to what to expect after the program . This in my option gives you the experience and confidence to be successful in your future , I love Mr Tapscott and is in my opinion an amazing teacher , a kind , honest , trustworthy person who has pride in his work , he has a pride for everything he does or talks about , I couldn’t of asked for a better college to attend and I am blessed to be apart of the experience and to see people who are passionate about what they do to improve peoples lives . I felt included and that I had a voice within this experience. I recently graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Gateway. Mr. Tapscott and his team were the most supportive, inspirational, knowledgeable and humorous group of instructors I have ever studied under. Mr. Tapscott taught the online portion of the course that was heavily weighted in anatomy, physiology and introduction to massage therapy. Mr. Tapscott was always offering assistance to students and following up on financial aid, GI Bill funding, finding places to do externships, or assisting with any other issues the students may have faced. The lab portions of the class were taught by Mr. Ybarra and Ms. Bauer, both experienced massage therapists, both dedicated to successful outcomes for all the students. Mr. Ybarra is known for his demonstrations on various massage and stretching techniques during labs. All three instructors shared a great many stories of their experiences in the massage industry. This team of teachers worked very well together and created an environment where the students felt proud to be part of the class and continuously improved in their massage skills through out the course. Each teacher has a great sense of humor, will be direct if there are issues to address but they are always respectful and professional. The program was also the start of many long lasting friendships and a successful future in the massage industry for myself. DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! I have been attending this school for a while. When I had enrolled I wasn’t given proper information. I do online school and I’ve been struggling with math and biology and to my surprise the instructors do not put the effort in to help other students online. I went in to speak to an advisor and low and behold she didn’t help either. I have a learning disability and stated that information to the advisor and the best answer she gave me was “unfortunately we don’t have special services for students who have disabilities” I’m in the process of getting my associates degree in DMS and no advisors informed me before I started the program that I needed to take an HESI Exam. Another thing is for students who do the online classes, students have to their webcams on to take the tests/quizzes but don’t require it during other class time such as completing assignments. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SCHOOL!!! THERE IS NO HELP WHAT SO EVER AND DONT HELP STUDENTS SUCCEED!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! And because I struggle in math, I’ve tried free Tutoring and they only available for an hour and if you need more time you need to make a new appointment. An hour gets 3 questions done and they still don’t walk you through the process.Monica Balderrama

This college as a whole has been amazing. My instructors and the rest of the staff and faculty really care about your education. If I ever have any problems and I go to someone they either know the answer I am looking for or they will find someone who does. If I have any suggestions on how to make things better or easier for students they are always ready and willing to listen what I have to say and make improvements that will better students experiences. I wish I could further my education here farther than an associates degree because I have had such a great experience here. If you are on the fence, sign up! You won’t regret it.Danielle Lambrite

Amazing school. I graduated and walked already after my two years. Every teacher was supportive and there for me. You can just walk in to talk to an advisor (unless during semester start/end). Then it's by appointment. That is so much better than other schools. Osu only has very picky walk in times. MTC teachers put books in the library or I borrowed their copies so I spent nothing. They are friendly and the school is very pretty. Only a couple teachers were annoying, but every place has 1 or 2. I loved my time there.Molly m (YYH)

Do NOT go through this nursing program. Just take the few extra prerequisites that the other programs require and go somewhere else. This is the most unorganized program I've ever seen. They will reschedule clinicals and classes with absolutely no notice. They also give you lists of books to buy and change the required books the beginning of class. All they say when they mess up and change things around is "what do you want me to do, it's nursing school, you have to be flexible" it's nothing but frustration.Aletha Perry

I put $114 down for Housing a couple months ago but decided I wasn't gonna be going to this college so I asked if I could get a refund and at the beginning of March they said it would be refunded to me by the 16th of March and it was never refunded I have contacted Housing and they have told me to contact Cashiers Office about it and when I call the Cashiers Office they say I need to talk to Housing I'm getting annoyed with these games they are playing then I called them about a week ago and they said they would have to write their boss to handle it and they would call back within 24 hours they NEVER called back and I still haven't received my refund I'm glad I decided not to go here I'll be attending a nice university I got accepted into instead the price is outrageous anyways for being the college this is and also has a lot of bad reviews I've never left a bad review before but this really irritated me that money could have helped me outMackenzie

I have had a very positive experience with Hocking College my first year. I love the program I am in and am having lots of fun learning the material and connecting with students and my professors. I will say the environment is rough around the edges and difficult at times to stay focused and stay positive, which is why I am living off campus so i can come home to much more uplifting environment. Like with every profession and career you find good and bad employees. With that said I have experienced questionable behavior that was not above approach from faculty at times, but my overall experience with the housing, registration, and financial department has been positive and I have felt supported. I love Hocking College! It is my first year here. I have attended a 4 year school prior to this one. I must say, the classrooms here are much smaller. The instructors are nicer, and the workload is much easier. I feel at home here and I'm looking forward to obtaining my degree. The learning has a "hands on" feel. The buildings are close together so you never have far to go. The campus is beautiful and the buildings are kept clean. Even the bathrooms are nice! I reccomend Hocking College to anyone who feels overwhelmed attending a 4 year school. Also, Hocking has a great transfer module program, where you can transfer to a 4 year college after obtaining your associates degree. I'm glad to be here.Valerie Dixon

Horrible school. I attended the school for about 2 years and have a better experience at the DMV. I was told in high school by a Cincinnati State that my credits would transfer from Cincinnati State to University of Cincinnati seamlessly – they did not. In fact when I went to UC, they stated they could accept me as a transfer student but none, zero, NADA – of my credits would transfer. I applied to Miami University (Ohio) and was able to have 3 classes transferred. Miami was also cheaper at the time than Cincinnati State. I had to start all over from scratch after 2 useless years at Cincinnati State. The staff at Cincinnati State, including the teachers, were low quality. Staff seemed to brush off any concerns you have. Asking for help? Only the minimum is provided to guide you in the direction you need. Teachers mostly seemed to be low quality and bottom of the barrel – I only had 2 teachers that were okay out of 2 years. A few teachers I was able to show issues with tests or exams – although they agreed that I was correct at the time, one refused to fix the exam grades for everyone because "That is what the test key answer is and she would have to go back and regrade all the tests"… Sorry? That is literately your job… The next teacher could not understand the wording of their own test question that they provided (online) and would not correct the answer for the students. I communicated this error via email and was pushed away. I pushed back stating the teacher was incorrect and provided the work as to why the answer was wrong, in a professional tone. The teacher responded unprofessionally by changing the color of the text in the email to red, downplaying my proof, not using punctuation, and using unprofessional language. I dropped the class as this is not a teacher in my eye; but someone who is there for a paycheck. Cincinnati State had a graduation rate of just over 12% when I attended. 12% of students graduate from this school…. For the 2019 year it is now 17.9%. The odds of you attending this school for 2-3 years and graduating are very low. You are better off attending a real college if you are serious about your future. The overall poor quality as well. I have never experienced so many arguments between teachers and students in a classroom before. After class is over, everyone leaves campus immediately unless they have another class within the next hour or so. The current ad campaign that is on TV does not portray the school correctly. The average age of students is middle age. There is very few labs due to limited budget. Little to no student engagement events. Printers were not free. Book store was a COMPLETE ripoff, some classes did not require the book due to costs. Teachers would not communicate to students about schedule changes in tests and exams effectively for online classes (I missed my final Physics exam due to this). Save 2 years of your life and go somewhere else. I am not the only one with a really bad experience. If you know someone that attended or attends Cincinnati State, talk to them. You will typically find they did not graduate or they think it is okay but plan to transfer to another school before they finish. My experience at Cincinnati State was something of a mixed bag. I had previously attended a 4-year university but was seeking a career change. Given the low cost of attendance that community colleges provide, I figured that Cincinnati State would be a great option. My first year of studies were great. I had some very kind professors who genuinely cared about the students and the material that they taught. Some faculty members could be a bit rude at times, but that is to be expected in higher education. After my first year, I truly felt like I was on the way to great success. My second year on the other hand turned out to be quite the opposite. During my first semester back from co-op, I received notification that I had been dropped from two classes without explanation. Upon reaching out to the registrar, I was told to contact my program chair/advisor. Upon reaching out to my advisor, I was not given any guidance. I felt like I was really left to my own devices to try to figure out how to schedule my classes. In addition, I found the teaching quality to be quite disappointing. In the one class that I was able to take that semester, my professor did not once hand out a syllabus or explain the grading rubric. I persistently asked him when grades would be given back, and he would give me a specific date. Only once did he ever give back grades on said date. The rest were given at the end of the semester, thus leaving all students in a state of anxiety over what our final grade would be. He stressed the importance of attendance and punctuality but was hardly ever on time for class. On some occasions, he even made me late to work because class would run over. For these reasons as well as the problems mentioned earlier about the administration, I decided not to return to Cincinnati State. In short, Cincinnati State is a good option for those seeking a low-cost education, and there are some great programs and professors here. However, the unorganized and highly bureaucratic administration combined with some exceptionally unprofessional professors keep the school from being as great as it could be. Please tread lightly if considering Cincinnati State now or in the future.Nick Workman

My review was removed probably by google because I mentioned that I don’t appreciate how their curriculum is trying to indoctrinate you. It’s other wise a good school. I got my degree in two years and had no problems. The instructors for my program were great. But it’s absurd in my opinion that a college feels the need to assert their opinions in to every core class. My English class was consistently wanting us to watch TED talks that talked about political standpoints. My sociology professor was the absolute worst. Even if you did an assignment and followed the rubric, but disagreed with her opinion, she would give you a lower score. Then try to justify it by using her own opinion as sources. She also said that anyone who believes in God is likely uneducated. Overall, my experience was good and I’m glad I got my degree here. But it’s just too liberal for my taste.Britt Jones

Worst college experience. The clinical advisor is incapable of her job and pushed the clinical to a future start even though the CPR card takes one day to get but she decides to push it a whole week when we should have been done the day the quarter finished. The phlebotomy instructor is really rude and disrespectful of students and makes students not feel comfortable to speak up and if to ask a question she acts like your a child completely rude. I don't recommend coming to this college. Also the virtual graduation was upsetting to know I had sent my information and sent a photo and not even be on it. Really makes me unhappy to know I spent money and time to be treated as a student like trash and not get acknowledged for the hard work and time put into trying to succeed. I won't want to come back to this college for the at most disrespectful people.Ryan

This is a terrible college. It’s like pulling teeth to get anyone to email you back about important, time-sensitive information, and you get the runaround when they do. This happened when I was applying for admission, and is currently happening now that they’ve denied me, because they are incompetent, the certificate I worked so hard for. Because they changed the numbers on some math courses, they all of a sudden don’t count towards my certificate, and they lost the official transcript that I sent from my former college, and are denying my transfer credit. Man i had trouble here. Not only did they give me the wrong classes but it turns out i never had FAFSA to cover my classes. And they make me pay for them two years after I left the college. Thank goodness i never continued to study here. I know they have a lot of students to manage but still if you were able to catch that years later then why not then? I knew something was wrong here.
