I took the CNA ‘Plus’ programme there back in October 2021. For $2395 we never got a clinical! And the facilities and equipment provided were unbelievable! One mannequin with its leg falling out and not even a proper night gown to keep it from being exposed! Sheets were dirty! Equipment faulty, and now we are STILL waiting to take our state licensure exams! If you’re taking the CNA programme, do not take the “plus part” it is a waste of money and time. State Street U is amazing. I attended 22 years ago and stopped by for the first time since then and I was amazed to find, updated buildings, a beautiful store, and a whole new feel. The professors and professionals were mostly great when I was there and though I don't attend, I had a chance to talk to administrators and they are still amazing. It is a fantastic education at a great price. If you are looking for a great community college, look no further than STCC. I do not recommend this school to anyone. There was a lot of grade school style homework and a broad spectrum of effort put in by my professors. Most of my homework was distributed digitally by the respective text book's website — NOT the professor. This created a huge disconnect when discussing homework issues in class. It was frustrating knowing my professors were not curating our homework, rather, it was being outsourced by a subsidized textbook. Their job is to educate, but remember they are there to make a profit. I could not afford my bill so they sold my debt to a collection agency.J s

My first college experience was here and it wasn't a particularly good one. The building is nice with a very comfortable atmosphere, though the parking lot is a nightmare. There is not WiFi through the entire building, which is infuriating for a student with an on campus class that is also entirely on the internet. Great school. but I think if we're paying $300.00 for a book and paying $8.00 on top of that for shipping a signature should be required from UPS and some type of insurance on it. I recently was enrolled in the graduate cohort for reading and writing. I have been teaching for almost 10 years and found most of the classes insulting. I felt I knew more than the cohort professors and learned very little new. Many of the text books were from early 2000. Considering the vast changes in LA recently, I felt many classes provided information that was not up to curent reading philosphies and/or research. The rubrics were so convoluted that the professors couldn't figure them out or they did not pertain to the topic. Many classes were spent going back and forth over the rubrics only to have them change again. Knowing what I do now, I would not waste the money, but would have done an on-line course for 1/3 the price.K Palmer

As a current junior undergraduate at the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford, CT, I am very happy here. I came to USJ as a shy, timid girl without the confidence to speak up in class. I am now a confident woman that isn't afraid to voice my opinion or share my insights. USJ has given me the platform to grow as a person and to realize exactly what I want out of college and out of life. In the past, I have always been unsure what the future would hold for me but ever since I've been at USJ my path has become more clear. Last semesters, I took a class with an international instructor. It was the worst class I ever studied in my life. Every time I ask her about the class she told me to go online and check how my classmates did. I'm still wondering did I took the class to learn from my classmates or from the instructor. I work here as staff and find the working environment pretty good. My bosses have been good, my coworkers are dependable, and the students seem well behaved and conscientious (most of the time). The new buildings are nice, and the harbor walk is kind of amazing, and the beach is very chill. Good luck finding a place as tranquil anywhere else near the city. There is however one small con and one big con.. the small con is that there aren't that many places to eat and Sodexo runs all the food on campus, and their attempts at ethnic foods are sad. And the aforementioned big con is that there is no less than 3 buildings being built on this tight peninsula right now, and one huge building that was taken down over the year I've been here.. the construction is a mess. Though the new, finished buildings, like the science complex, are great. But if you can take the T somehow, as I do, this place is fantastic.Mikhail M. Nitko

UMASS Boston has a Beautiful campus on the waterfront! It is building two Brand new buildings as student housing with a dinning hall on the first floor, overlooking the Boston harbor with a million dollar view. UMASS Boston has a collaborative research program with Dana Farber Cancer Institute that students can be a part of. I love the new Integrated science center, incubating many New exciting NIH sponsored science research studies. It is an exciting time for UMASS Boston which has a new chancellor with generous scholarship. Chancellor merit scholarship will allow students to get world class education for free.Khuong Nguyen

I am a student here at UMB, the professors are great. The administration is bureaucratic and inefficient and lacks transparency on any basic level. Parking here is dependent upon arrival time. If you get here at 10:20 good luck finding a space in bayside, probably will have to park at the globe. Clinical placement sites for Nursing are good, labs are good, the school is constantly under construction and areas are always being blocked off. Parking will soon cost between 9-15 dollars a day according to emails from the uni. So it’s alright but the university is slowly draining the life of its commuters.Bill Whitney

When a college sends someone to spam your email THREE times about joining seems to me then its not worth singing up for. Got emailed by someone from their staff three times harassing me to join when i had previously shown zero interest but apparently just because she saw my profile on a website. She emails me not once, not twice, but three times begging for a response. While apparently it "may" not be a horrible college i have zero interest in joining and no where near in the area either. I went to WCSU in The Woodstock 60's. It was so small then, a blip on the radar with only a few buildings for classes, but something wonderful happened. I was given special attention and sent to Yale University to audition for it's School of Drama and I was accepted. I was coached by a director, an English prof. and a Theater Arts instructor who taught English before there was a Theater Arts program at WCSU. Thanks to them, our tiny group of drama hopefuls had the opportunity to test run a real Off Broadway Play before it was cast. Our director was a friend of the Playwright. I had the lead in that production and thanks to that I was chosen to audition for Yale, and thoroughly coached by the team. Because of them I made it. I did not go to Yale due to personal issues but the point is that there were great people willing to go beyond the scope of their requirements and guide someone to the place where they could succeed. WCSU has grown into a fine institution because it has great roots. Go visit and see what I mean.Judith A Rowland

This University is like a breath of fresh air among the other CSU's, I would highly recommend, from the staff to the OpenClose program which sorts all the classes so neatly and nicely, to the overall atmosphere of the town itself (*thats also because many of the other state colleges/universities are put in very crime filled neighborhoods) WCSU makes its very easy as well to transfer taking ALL transfer credits from the other universities, as well as if your communication major like myself, they offer many classes over the summer to help you catch up or even to learn more. Also i'd like to put out that right now is like the golden age of the communication dept at WCSU literally every professor is awesome in one way or another, even the adjuncts are amazing and that's saying something (Petkanas, Eckstein, Lever, Murtha, Brower, Wiss, Tozzoli, Barone, Woodward just to name a few)Justin Quinn

Got my MBA here. The faculty is quite smart and is genuinely interested in your success. Specifically, the marketing, supply chain, and finance professors are top notch. If you get the opportunity to study abroad for Taiwan, which is available as an undergrad as well, absolutely do it. Amazing people to network with and friends that came out of class, overall very rewarding experience. The college has had notable difficulty with their health and safety as of the writing of this that took 1 star away from my rating. I spent a year and change at the school, but I'd go again if I found the need to go back to school.Eric

This is a really good school if you’re all about your academics. I’ve had my good times and my bad times here at MCC. Overall on the academic side of MCC I appreciate all of the hard work that most of my professors have done. There are professors here that definitely need to be more qualified with what they are teaching as it has affected my grades when I’ve taken their courses. I am an Honor student here at MCC with a GPA of 3.30 and have never once had an issue with organization skills until my 2019 spring semester. A couple of the professors have been unorganized, no syllabus and sometimes they have other priorities when they have to teach a class in other words they put another professor in place when they have to go to another job. Although these were a couple of issues within my time here at MCC I enjoyed the experience of learning new knowledge for my future career. I really liked a lot of my professors but a couple of them have been a little rough. If you communicate with your professors about your issues that you’re having it really helps and shows that you’re determined to do your work and it shows you care about your work as well. Environment wise I’d have to say it’s not healthy (mentally/physically) and or good for many people. There have been students who have left garbage all over the place and don’t clean up after themselves which leads to maintenance having to clean it all up. With my time here I have helped maintenance clean up other people’s messes so they don’t have to worry about it as much. Also the amount of vaping, drug use, and underage drinking in the lounge is unacceptable and nothing has been done to take care of this issue except shutting the lounge down. I feel as if this does nothing but illustrates that they can go elsewhere within the college and do these things. An authority figure should really take this into consideration and do something about this because it affects others who have nothing to do with these people and it ruins people’s Health. You can smell weed from a mile away and if people have asthma or a health condition this could affect them physically. I do not appreciate this at all and I wish something was done about it. The other big issue environmentally is the fact that the main cafeteria can get very loud and some students have no manners and do not respect others around them. If they are asked to quiet down they do the opposite It has gotten to the point where a lot of people have complained and yet nothing is done to prevent this from happening again. The college needs to have some control over what students do and take action on these issues. I wish that there could be some changes here and I hope for the best for everyone at MCC. Overall it is a good school for your academics but is definitely not a mentally healthy place environmentally. Even if you try to get away and go somewhere else for privacy somehow drama follows behind you. A Tip would be after your classes go home if you can or go to the back of the library in the quiet study room. So I will start with sharing my positive highlights of the fall semester during covid. Some teachers were empathetic to the situation the entire nation went through. Prof. Muldoon did such an amazing job touching base and gaining clarity of students frustration and technical difficulties during this time. Prof Diane. Hillyer OMG if I were ever to be a college professor I’d want to have her passion and dedication. She’s a math angel, truly loves her job and her videos were perfect! Now chemistry online and labs online were a joke!!! The professor did not make enough office hours, used YouTube videos from other teachers, used repetitive templates for each week lesson with no data. If I wanted to learn chemistry that way I could’ve honestly gone on Edx.org for FREE and probably have learned the curriculum better. I might of missed 1 assignment and handed in 1 assignment 10 mins late and didn’t receive the grade or support needed. But unfortunately as a paying student I just have to deal with it, 2k down the drain! Funny thing I am also a teacher during covid and actually work in the building with student and never would I have ever made my students feel isolated like this professor did. I’ve never seen or heard my chemistry teachers voice but I’m pretty sure they got paid every two weeks while there’s probably many qualified teachers that could have done a way better job. I was warned about this professor but I learned the hard way. The school overall has a nice faculty and I feel like the majority do care. This is unfortunate when professor get so accustomed to a repetitive lifestyle because blackboard actually graded my exams so again not sure what some professor did during Covid behind the scene and so-called virtual teaching. This is a a good school to start or to get the credits needed for a post-Bach. I decided to go to a private school with a more dedicated team and more virtual teaching experience.Dignora Castillo

I was a potential international student and found Manchester Community College a great place to go. I called the first time and wasn’t able to talk to the responsible for international students but left my phone number and email. Umesh sent me an email saying he would give me a call. He did, two days later and was rude and impatient since the moment I picked up the phone and was acting like he was doing me a favor to call me. He said I should go back to my country and take my visa there instead of changing my status here, which is not up to him, was questioning how I was gonna become a student and more. I can’t even explain how rude and disrespectful he was to me who was just trying to make an appointment to go to the campus and get more informations in person about fees and the I20. Roxbury Community College is a top community college in Boston with accessible instructors who are devoted to their students learning and mastery of the subjects. It is more important to learn the foundations than be pressured and focusing on competition for grades at some notable colleges in the area. I am also interested in furthering my writing career for children and young adults by the Children's Literature course. And courses on Images of African Americans in the media. I am applying to an MFA program in creative writing at Spaulding University and need letters of recommendation. I hope to get a tv show on Nickelodeon. This will help. I might take Linux computer programming or Java II. I plan to enroll in Biology I Biology II at BHCC. There is an Energy class. If I have time I will take this on Saturday mornings. I also plan to take Organic Chemistry and apply to medical school using computerized anatomy coursework. I am considering taking Arabic language classes here. I am also going to read the book on legal document preparation. I do not have time to take everything, so I can read the book and keep improving being self taught is important. I start a dishwasher job at a major sports arena complex in the evening and will work weekends, so I have time!Kelly Moy

Absolutely not. I know rocks that can gain more intelligence in a lifetime compared to the amount of anything you'll gain here. They don't even offer flexible tutoring hours for students employed by the school. What? are you kidding? Say its a conflict of interest. A conflict of who's interest? Cause its truly conflicting the interest to learn when you cant make a buck and get help with academics at the same time. Highly unprofessional staff, hand to God I thought they were common transients you pass by in hallways and streets. Also the graduation rate there is half past depressing and that alone is a reflection of the interests the professors have in teaching a community anything college related. Also is a reflection of the effortless clowns that frequent the facility still nostalgic about their high school days. Do NOT waste your time especially if you have SENSE and SCENTS. Please be aware of this college. Worst college in USA. Took money out from Income Tax return without even attending any class. Please be very aware before you visit this college or sign any papers.My wife went there to check about the courses they provide and see the college. She never went to that college again and never did any class. After couple of months we received a bill that we owe money. Called the college and the front desk said that you have to talk with the billing department. They told us that you have to come to the college and sign the paper. My wife told that her foot is broken and she have 4 kids so that is why she cannot come. She Also told them that she will send doctor and hospital note that she cannot drive.They hung up the phone on her. She sent so many email and calls but no reply. Spoke with billing department that I really need that money for my kids. They guy I spoke said that i can not return the money. Went here during 2013-2014 for my associates in marketing, its an alright college. Tho my only bad points I remember from this is the intern job finder guy was really rude and I had other people who told me they had him too and he was rude to them as well. another bad point was one of the class counselors who made me take an unnecessary course and told me if i didn't take it i wouldn't get my degree only to find out that they lied and i didn't need to take that course (no refunds of course). Last bad point I remember was one of the job counselors who said they would help me find a job pretty much ghosted me after our first meeting. They gave such a wonderful speech about how I was going to get a lot of help finding a job and that i wouldn't be disappointed. well disappointment city here i came first class. total ghosted and never heard from after the second week of trying to talk to them. gave up trying to finding a job threw here. otherwise its an alright place but seriously have enough parking places that people taking classes here and no teacher saved parking spots for teachers who arent even there and we can see are sitting empty for most if not the entire day. Edit to respond to the owner: Sorry but I will not be using your "job finding services". After the first guy Matt Coulter if i remember his name right, was really rude and pretty much did absolutely NOTHING to help me when I had a problem with my internship. Then the job helper person I got to help me find a full time job litterly GHOSTED me, IE: never returning any phone calls, emails and was never there even tho I told they were there on the days they would be in, on 3 separate occasions I wasted my time trying to meet someone who just happened to "not" be there. This place was the worst college to go to. The counselors don't really help you. They just sign you up for any course they can just so they can quickly boot you out the door not caring to help you find classes for your major or even find a major at all. For the Danvers campus in particular, it's a very snobby, predominately white(and prejudice), unfriendly atmosphere. A lot of them also flow over to the Lynn campus so they bring their snobby attitudes there. The students are worse than the instructors though the instructors can be pretty stuck up themselves. That's just the type of community Danvers is. You will find most of the people who have the edge at this school AND of course speak highly of it are the predominantly white population. I took a Bio 101 class once, and the instructor said in front of the class that blacks usually don't do well because they come from a poor background and lack proper education. It really is not a good place to get your education. Also, a lot of classes they have wont transfer to another college such as their Bio 101 course. You may not know that, but be sure the classes you take are transferable. Be sure to follow up on Rate My Professors website to know if you have a good instructor or not otherwise it's a hit or miss on having a great successful academic year or not. The staff can be very unfriendly on the phone or in person when you go to any of their offices. When you attend this school, you better have direction on what you want to do because No one there is really going to help you unless you have a really good instructor. I transferred out to a better community college and it was one of the best choices I've ever made.Maximum Achievement

I have done four semesters at NSCC in the Criminal Justice program over the past two years. North Shore was a decent place for me to start my college education, as I feel like going to a full-fedged State University for four years is a massive scam and waste of money. Professor Koshivas and D'Agastino were great and I learned a great deal in their classes. The Danvers campus is very clean and modern and much nicer than the Lynn campus, which gave me the feeling of being in a dirty train tunnel. My issues with the school pertain to its administration. I had multiple issues when enrolling for classes during each semester. It seemed like no matter what some piece of paperwork would be lost. Once they even lost proof of one of my scholarships, luckily I had copies. When it came time to cut the check for the semester there would always be an issue with the amount. Sometimes we overpaid, sometimes we underpaid, it was as though they never got the final amount right on the first try. It was frusturating to deal with. Another issue I had was with the WiFi in the school. I would be in the library during the period between classes on my laptop trying to get work done, only to find the connection suddenly stopped and I could no longer connect to the internet. Some days were worse than others with this, it was very unpredictable as to when it would work and when it would not. I won't end up graduating from North Shore as of right now as I'm going the military route instead. However, there are some very good professors at this school, just be prepared to deal with a mediocre administrative department if you decide that North Shore is for you.Millard Fillmore

Most of the bad reviews are coming from people who had ONE bad experience at like the book store or whatever or i gEt tHiEr aDs oN hUlu, though the veteran who shared his story probably has a decent case to make. Anyway I got a business degree from this college and if you actually try you can do really really well here, with great professors and programs like the honors program which gives high level learning at bottom dollar, and wonderful faculty like the folks at PTK, disability services, or the Fuller Center. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot to work on regarding graduation rates, the food, no one card system, etc but I couldn't give this place anything less than 5 stars because of all of the wonderful people who give 110% here, especially in those departments I mentioned. If you live in Worcester don't spend 30k a year to go to Assumption, you'll save so much money to come here. Seek opportunity, study for your tests, respect your professors and faculty, and most importantly, do your damn homework; I guarantee you'll be a success at this place if you do all of these things.Clark Kent

She is awful and not a good teacher in general. You will waist your money, time, and probably want to rip your hair out when she talks. I first came to Goodwin for a Manufacturing Career Fair on August 2014. My plan going in was to improve/expand my professional network but after introducing myself to the two ladies at the front door, I was escorted to the admissions office. During this impromptu meeting I learned of their range of Manufacturing programs ranging from a Collegiate Certificate to Bachelor's Degrees. The lady I met with was very nice so I decided to let her run through her whole pitch before refusing. After she finished running through her speech I was about to politely decline when my eyes fell upon a pamphlet detailing their Certificate in CNC Machining. My attitude switched from polite dismissal to serious consideration. By the time the holiday season was in force, I had officially enrolled. From the Spring 2015 – Fall 2016 semesters, I experienced the most fulfilling education of my life. Classes tailored to my major were taught by professors with real-life experience in the manufacturing field. Knowledge gained from operating machines in the school's shop helped me secure my first manufacturing based job (which at the time of this review, I have been at for over a year). Around two weeks ago I walked in the 2017 Commencement with my CNC Certificate AND Associate's Degree (Summa Cum Laude!!!). Making the choice to again become a student with Goodwin College is one I do not regret, in spite of my now increased loan debt. Looking for a quality education with real life application? I graduated in 2006 with a General Business Degree the Staff and Faculty were all very helpful and on top of their jobs. I signed back for classes in 2013 for my Bachelor's Degree in Business unfortunately the staff and faculty changed in a Very Negative way. I had Mr. Rotondo as my Advisor who had me taking classes that i had previously taken also the Black Board Online classes system kept going down I another class were i completed the work on time but their system did not register my work it had been idled for 36 or more hours and never registered my work causing me a NS for the class this caused a snowball affect to the downfall of me no longer attending classes. I talked with Professor Valeria he advised i write some sort of letter which i did explaining the double classes Mr. Rotondo had me take due to him not paying attention to my previous classes for He was my teacher in 2004-2006. So far I love the complex, the professor are really nice and helpful. They want you to pass the class for sure. The only thing I can complain is for the service of Financial Aid. I am a transfer from Lincoln College and when I was about to change they explain me that it would be cheaper or about the same. Before classes start I went to Financial Aid to see how much it was going to cost me, but they didn't have any information of me yet. Then I received a message saying "to not go to financial aid" I could start right away. I went again the day before start and they couldn't tell me anything. They charge already for the semester, it shown in my credit report, this is my third week of class and I do not even know if is the same as Lincoln, more expensive or less.Christian Diaz

This place is a perfect example of “you get what you pay for”. I attended September 2009 – May 2018 (with a 3 year gap from 2012-2015). The hospitality teachers and department head were wonderful, and a lot of my general Ed teachers were amazing too and I have nothing but great things to say about the teachers. However, the registrar office and academic advisors were a nightmare to deal with. No one ever smiles, my message NEVER got relayed to the right person, and it was such a headache to deal with offices equivalent to dealing with the DMV. They also claimed that when you graduate you can transfer your credits to a state college which is false. Some of the credits transferred, but classes like Math don’t transfer and I have to take a placement test to get into the same exact math class I took at Gateway and passed the class with an A. The bookstore staff was the most incapable, rude, useless group of people. Graduation was a completely unorganized joke – they told graduates to arrive 2 hours early to stand in a parking lot with no instruction and 1 porta potty for about 300 people. They also only announce 1 of your degrees – so if you have 3 degrees they won’t even take the extra 5 seconds to announce all 3 (I thought graduation was supposed to recognize your achievements?) I would have never wasted my time going to graduation if I knew how pathetic it would be. Parking on campus in New Haven was crazy and the lot constantly overflows into the Temple Street lot so you get to walk in stairways that smell like urine with bums roaming the lot and drunk people stumbling to their car after your class at 9:30 at night with no security guards to get to your car. Literally no security whatsoever like your completely on your own in a public lot in the heart of New Haven. Like most schools, they don’t allow weapons inside the building so you don’t even have a way to defend yourself if you get approached in the lot which will happen at some point. There were also hospitality classes that I had to buy things out of pocket and was promised reimbursement that never happened.Nina Tiso

I loved working with the children in the Early Learning Center, but the adults in the classroom didn't really treat me that well. They didn't really accommodating me that well when it came to tasks such as setting the table for breakfast,lunch, and snack. A coworker got nasty because I wasnt moving fast enough for her. I'm visually impaired and I have to take my time because of my vision. I had to complain about this coworker 2 times. Another thing that didnt make sense was I had to walk to the other side of campus to eat lunch for my 30 minute break. The teacher of the classroom would get mad at me for being late because I am a slow eater and I cant move fast again because of my bad vision. student teachers aren't allowed to eat in the teachers lounge. I shouldn't have had to complain to my boss about eating in the teacher lounge. This place needs to be more accommodating to student teachers with disabilities and staff needs to be more compassionate. I am very glad that I don't work at this place anymore! Beautiful atmosphere. I was in their old building on Long wharf years ago, and seeing how they've grown and progressed into what I consider a university now, is life changing for the people attending this college. For a community college, they offer so much for the students with assistance as well as their educational endeavors. Their cafe offers delicious varieties which includes a wide range of healthy choices. Very inviting environment for the students to learn in. I have to be honest about this. Good college when it comes to campus design, some Professor's teaching skills, and assistance for school related issues. Although, the school teaches bad ethics. For example, sports lack discipline. They will teach there athletes to run score boards up. Up by 20 in a basketball game with 3mins to go, they will shoot more three point shots than Steve Kerr. The most alarming thing is faculty will participate in Hazing students. I've watch this with my own two eyes. Call them out on it, and they will just deny it, at least my professor did. I am currently a student there, who help form a club, in order to help students get there basic needs to become a successful student. So just remember, good campus design, some Professors have good teaching styles, good for resources, but terrible place to learn good ethics. To me learning good ethics and applying them is one of the most important, or the most important thing to learn as a student. Would not be the first school I would want to send my child to. My alma mater which will always be in my heart till it stop beating (that might sound too dramatic) but hey that’s the truth! I learned a lot, got tons of experiences, got so many American and International friends, exchanged culture and collected precious moments in this place. I really miss the college, my friends, the clubs, the library, single stop, the cafeteria and most importantly I miss my coordinator when I was in a scholarship Program and of course I really miss the professors. I do recommend this college as an affordable and easy starting point but be ready to encounter many hurdles in your way and a lot of incompetent staff. Make sure to double check everything you do here, especially the financial aid part. The professors are nice but it’s on you to actually learn the material, the professors rarely will make sure you learned anything. It’s a 3 star college. I will say that all schools have there administration issues. Some of the reviews here are a reflection of a particular professor or financial aid issue which should be in no way a reflection of the overall college. The college is a beautiful place to attend with numerous private beaches and has an overall elegant esthetic appearance. The college has it's own public safety and is a blue light district. I will say that I myself have had a few minor issues with professors and the Dean of my school but regardless there is a procedure through the college to handle any issues someone may have with a member of the staff. Unfortunately some people chose not to educate themselves on how to deal with problems rather than go on google and write poor reviews about an overall great university with an internship program that could turn many peoples lives around. The university is also a great provider of education for young mothers who want to make a life for themselves and their child. Beautiful campus. I was there for the graduation ceremony on 5/17/18. Very efficient system of getting people to and from the stadium. They provided bused, shuttle vans and golf carts. The ceremony was really good and tge students spoke highly of their experiences. Definitely a place to look into for a future degree.Greta A. Douglas

They've put an amazing amount back into the place over the years and it's gone from a small 2 year school to a fantastic robust 4 year college with a graduate school. It’s unfortunate that I have to write this review but I am in hopes of MCPHS revising their admissions process for the Physician Assistant Program. I know that I was not the only student this year that was invited to interview and then closed out of an interview spot and placed on a waiting list. When I contacted MCPHS they told me that I may not get to interview after all as they had accidentally invited too many people to interview and did not have the resources to open up more interview dates even though acceptances are not on a rolling basis. How does a top tier medical university not have the resources to interview all the students they invited? By choosing to interview solely the people that happened to secure spots first, not only are they limiting the potential of their incoming class and proving that they only care about filling the spots for monetary reasons, but they are limiting the future of numerous successful students who worked hard to get an interview invitation. When I asked Jordan Hunt (admissions counselor) to make sense of this she was unable to provide a competent answer besides that the university messed up and the incoming students are the ones facing the repercussions. I’m not writing this for myself, but for the other students who were too timid to speak up or who had chosen this school as their top choice and then got screwed. I truly feel bad for some of the other incoming students who do not have other options and were relying on MCPHS. I am very disappointed. MCPHS either needs to change their interviewing process to rolling acceptances (interviewing the top tier students first and then going down the line) or they need to use this model but be willing to open up more dates in case of overflow. Side note: They informed me that students on the waiting list could be notified up to a day before an interview that a spot had opened up. Do they not take into consideration that everyone doesn’t live near Boston or works full-time? Extremely dissatisfied with this supposedly “top tier” medical college.Maddy Frank

Hey guys, good for all the students giving great remarks. I don't know if the school has paid you. I must say i was in the nursing program , ( the set that started 2005) the teachers were very bad. Everything was very difficult, out of 50 students that got into the nursing program only 15 students or even less that graduated from the program. Judy Murphy was very racist, no room for improvement. It was a very bad school. I will recommend another school any day any time as matter off fact the school needs to refund money back to students that paid for tuition. All they care about is your money and not the students. It was a very traumatic experience. It was one of the worst decision i have ever made in life to attend that college. I Owe up to 100,000 in debt with no nursing degree to show for. I thank the Almighty God i got my degree from another school with no stress or frustration. Guys open your eyes and look for another school. I just finished my second-year in PharmD program in MCPHS. I’m gonna transfer to Worcester to study the accelerated program. I have had great time in MCPHS so far. All professors are very nice and friendly. I haven’t met any professor who’s not willing to help student wholeheartedly. They always have office hours to answer students’ inquiries and to clarify the lecture in case the students don’t understand. There are absolutely no discrimination in MCPHS. It’s all about respect. Every MCP student is very welcoming so we have a very close-knit community in MCP. The program is well-designed and bearable. Sometime I feel overwhelmed but it’s not impossible to pass as many people say. You just need to put time and effort and you’ll be fine. In short, MCPHS is a great university for those who seriously pursuit a professional career in pharmacy and health sciences.Bill Nguyen

I've watched 25 graduating classes at Rivier. I've watched Rivier grow from an all girl's college to a coed college, and from a college to a university, from typing classes to computer classes and from graduate programs to doctoral programs. I've taken classes at Rivier and had the opportunities to change my mind for the better. I've worked in Housekeeping, Public Safety, Grounds, Maintenance and the Mail room. I can honestly say that most of the workers try to go above and beyond the call of duty by taking care of all the little details for students, staff, faculty and administration. We cater to our students and that's what we do. Rivier is like a place your mom taught you the world is supposed to be like. I will forever be indebted to all of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary for taking time to make sure I was OK, that I felt a part of the community and that I was appreciated for my efforts. I love all of the Sisters of Presentation of Mary as they have helped me to change my heart to do the best I can do, be the best I can be and to serve the world as best I can. Rivier University is striving to educate each and every student in these difficult and changing times, and is living it's mission statement in my opinion. Rivier University is the biggest regret I've made thus far for a secondary education institution. The Student Financial Services have let me down more than once, resulting in missed opportunities for financial help or gave me no notification if I owed the school money until I did/do. They sent my financial aid refund to me then three days later contacted me stating they needed it back, that they had made an error sending it to me. I had reached my loan limit with no warning given that the funds weren't available for me to enroll, that I'd pay out of pocket if I continued with my registration. If you decide to attend Rivier University in Nashua, NH then I suggest a special private financial aid provider and a personal accountant.Keitha Shideler

WORST college/university in the state! They care more about the cosmetics and appearance of their campus then they do about the actual education of their students! I have spent waaayyyy to much money here to be treat this unfairly and to get a less than adequate education! School seemed great when I toured it, but from day 1 that changed. I didn't recieve any of the assistance or help I was told I'd be able to get/be provided with. The dorms had many issues, such as my room along some of my friends rooms lacked door knobs and even locks. In the winter the heat didn't work at all, and for days at a time there would be no hot water through out the building(s). It normally took a day or longer for any form of maintenance/repairs to be done. Was given very little info about/prior to activities and or things going on at the school. The computers throughout the dorms almost never worked so if you don't/didn't have your own computer you couldn't do basically any of the work you'd need to do (for most all work at the school has to be done on the computer or online) and even if you did have your own computer or the ones in the dorms worked the internet barley ever worked, so no matter what getting work done was very difficult. Also, the attendance policy is very strict and no matter what the situation, whether it be a family emergency or just no going to class because you don't want to, if you miss 3 or more straight classes you get kicked out of the school and with little to no prior warning about being kicked out. Overall, I had many issues and problems (some of which are stated, but not all) with this school, which made for a pretty bad college experience. To finish, this school sucks, and is a complete waste of time and money from the moment you start. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME WITH THIS SCHOOL.Adam Hope

I started looking at Bay State College because of the great things I had read and seen online. I requested information and received that promptly. I applied and got accepted. That process was very smooth. I was at a community college before and had some credits that would transfer. Bay State staff helped me with the process and made sure the credits that could transfer would transfer. Fast forward two years. I received my Associate's in Criminal Justice and I am in the Bachelor's program scheduled to be done this year. I have built amazing relationships with professors and staff. They have become more like a family. If I ever have an issue I reach out and someone will always have an answer for me. When they do not, believe me. They find it. There are so many opportunities they have to offer you just have to ask. I am sad my time is coming to an end with Bay State. I graduated from Our Lady of the Elms in 1964, one of 4 Chemistry majors. Afterwards, I worked for the FDA in New York City, the Chemical Abstracts Service in Columbus, OH, and, in 1968, joined the Papal Volunteers for Latin America. I underwent training at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and at the Catholic University of Puerto Rico in Ponce. In December, 1968, I arrived in Lima, Peru, where I was assigned to research enzymes in fish meal protein at the Catholic University of Peru. Shortly afterwards, I adopted a tiny baby girl, who is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas, in Houston, TX. I've also lived in Belize, became a technical translator and editor, and ran 2 corporate libraries in Houston. In 1989, I earned a TX teaching certificate in Composite Science, and , in 2001, an MEd in Science Curriculum and Instruction. These are just a few of my accomplishments, and I credit my fantastic education and dedicated faculty at the Elms for my successes. Now, at the age of 73, I am a 50-year member of the American Chemical Society, tutor for Houston Community College, as well as privately, and drive the Houston freeways, I've encountered may challenges along the way, but I'm well prepared.Ann Kelley

I transferred to Elms from HCC and was pleasantly surprised by my experience there. I loved that the campus was small and I loved that because of that, each student got more one on one help. The dining hall is beautiful and new, the library is comfortable and the people there are helpful, and the professors are all amazing at what they do. You would think that this school being a “community college” they are more understanding of financial situations and are more efficient with financial aid an other “programs” they offer. Not this school! Not only does every single person in the financial aid office treat you just like another person asking for handouts but depending on what staff you run into behind the desk you might not even get the correct information! I went to the financial aid office yesterday due to the fact that I found out when trying to register for classes for spring 2018 that I was on a financial “probation” these people gave me NO NOTICE NO CALL NO NOTHING but that’s the least of my worry at this point. I go to their office the girl behind the desk had told me due to me getting a D in my math class last semester of 2017 financial aid was skeptical about covering classes for this upcoming semester so I would have to appeal( good thing I came a week before registRtion was over ) I appeal the form then I get a notice in the mail saying I’ve been only approved for 1 class this semester up to 6 credits. I was a little bothered, but I took it, I go down to finally register once again! Then I was told I didn’t have enough for books an technically they were only covering up to 3 credits an my class is 4 so I owe the school clerk a balance of $23.00 and now I’m also expected to pay for my text book. 6 days before class starts … what happened to the notice they sent me that said they cover up to six credits???? literally because I struggled in my math class last semester an got a D I’m going through all this torture as someone who is barely able to pay my own freaking bills at 20 an living by myself just trying to get my own education, every Semester it’s something else with this school the office people SUCK they are there for a job an that’s it. Then When you ask to speak to someone in charge of financial aide they torture you with hold for atleast a good 20 minutes on the phone ( probably praying for you to hang up) unless your willing to take 2 and three trips down to the office which is no problem probably for someone who doesn’t works full time.so now that the semester is getting ready to start an they feel like they did their part by covering the “majority” of my class (3 out of 4 credits, which my paper says they should cover up to 6 credits at least but whatever) I’m now expected to fend for myself an purchase a $200 text book within the next six days. Boy I can’t wait to be successful in my near future an to look back on the mistreatment an lack of support from this school an tell it to others as a learning experience an as a recommendation to never attend here just because of the thought of it being “cheaper” or “local” because u get what u paid for an these people’s attitude is just as cheap as the tuition they offer for a class an they lack what REAL schools have an that’s staff that cares about their students and the well being of others. An to make sure they give right answers these schools double triple quadruple check their work! If you attend TRCC as a freshman with no idea what your doing I suggest looking for support else where because this is not the school, they throw you in an don’t give a damn, not informative or helpful what so ever an definetly misleading . Always takes at least 3 visits to the school to ever get something rectified. Or a 20-30 min hold on the phone each time your trying to get the very little information that they are able to provide. Professors and fellow students are great but the administration and admissions process is a night mare. Little to no help to navigate threw the process. No one is willing to answer question. They always refer you to another person. Example: Me: Can you please tell me how I can access the wifi here? Advisor: You will have to contact a student advisor for that. Me: :/ Avoid online courses here. Professor did not make access easy. Not clear as to what material is needed. If professor isn't able to help you navigate course or they themselves aren't sure of what to do you will still be responsible for payment. Only time in my life I hired a professional service and they were unable to preform paid for task and I was still responsible for payment. And of course there is no one available to talk to about this and if there is no one knows who it is to refer you. If you do decide to take courses here try to make friends with other students that have already been threw the admissions/ administration nightmare. Don't take online. Don't expect assistance if you get lost along the way.Louis Maro

1: I registered for a class and dropped it a before week prior to it starting, boy was I in for a surprise bill. $120 for a class I didn’t even step foot in, let alone it didn’t even start when I dropped it. What a SCAM. Of course I had no choice but to pay it. So just be cautious when you’re registering for a class, because you cannot change you’re mind and not expect to pay a fee even if the class hasn’t begun. 2: If you’re “graduating” be sure to wait months for your actual diploma to be delivered. Very unorganized system they have going there. I graduated in may and have yet to receive any proof of it. My transcript is still not updated with my current degree and my diploma is who knows where. Sucks. 3. If you’re receiving financial aid and you’re registered for a class and the school decides they want to cancel it, be prepared to repay financial aid back.S G
