I came from a small bible college that folded due to debt and LBC graciously took us Washington Bible College under their wing. They did a phenomenal job taking care us transfer students. They cared for us so personally and with excellence and my transition to LBC couldn't have been smoother. My 3 year experience was incredible as I graduated with a Pastoral degree. My professors were highly competent and highly relational. The opportunities for experience and growth was at my fingertips and only added to value of what I learned in the classroom. LBC did a fantastic job at training me personally at enhancing my head, heart, and hands to do the work of the ministry. I graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 2013 with a BS in Biblical Studies. The experience was one of the most growing opportunities of my life as my faith was challenged and strengthened. When my own school closed, I was very blessed to have been able to finish my degree with Lancaster Bible College through their Accelerated Undergraduate Degree program. I finished school sooner than I thought I was going to be able to and I also gained valuable work and life experience by working as a Front Desk Assistant at LBC. Now I have moved on to working full-time in LBC's Library and get to interact with and encourage students who are where I was a few years ago. Of course LBC isn't perfect, but I'm proud to work here. Some student decided to order doordash from Virginia Beach Which was 18 minutes out of my way and then they couldn't even tip. all I got was the base pay from doordash I couldn't even buy a cup of coffee with that. If people are going to order food and have it delivered to them they need to learn how to tip Or you better get something that's close by because you don't order from another city and then you can't even tip. The good thing and what I *really* desire the most about the "Green" and "Gold," is that visitation, even when you are not invited the University allows you to break free and be yourself. Because of this, makes me ought not to approach with such criticism when it is just basic conversation. I AM NOT A STUDENT. IM A TOURIST I toured this beautiful school yesterday. It was absolutely beautiful. To walk around seeing so much scripture. So many things to inspire young minds and hearts to Christ. I did not get a chance to walk around the entire campus but the places I did see were amazing. My tour guide was Robert Vann. He knew a lot of history and important things about the school. He probably knew the mission statement if I asked him. He took us into the Chapel and had so many great things to say about it. He also said, the school was a safe place for Christians. The professors and staff, knew Jesus. Frfr. They encourage a relationship with Christ. He has never been around so many different ethnicities fully in worship together. It reminded him of Heaven. He saw that we are all the same. The school opened the eyes of his heart to so many different beautiful things about ALL of the people of God. I’m not gone lie, I don’t wanna say that I would ever move back to Virginia. And I do not like school. However, after seeing the school, and hearing the Words of Mr. Vann, it makes me want to consider attending Regent. I could not have chosen a better university to finish my education as well continue with. My professors are very understanding and compassionate because we need that today in the world we live in. Even if you aren't a Christian the respect and just humbleness of all my professors and even peers has been extremely outstanding . I am speechless. My professors pray for me and at times that's what I needed the most. The School work had true meaning and purpose. You aren't just going to school just to go to school. All of it has meaning. Education major. I enjoyed my classes and the instructors. I overpaid for what is really a worthless degree because school districts do not want experienced teachers. The issue is experienced teachers have higher salaries compared to new teachers. So while the university can claim a certain job placement rate, the situation changes after a few years on the job. Considering all the money education students have paid Loyola University Maryland, I have never heard about Loyola lobbying for better working conditions for teachers. That's crummy. Every entity wants to take, take, take from education majors but never give back to help our community. I had to pay for my own teaching internship. I thought that was normal at the time, but it's not. Other majors get paid to intern. Do not waste your money on an education degree. Enter teaching via Teach for America or Urban Educators instead. Or better yet, avoid the profession. Please check into the turnover rate.Share D

From the perspective of an African American student, I want to warn potential minorities. I did not experience a really good first year at this school. The professors are not as great as they have told you. At least for the freshman year. A couple of the professors I had, never returned papers and won't send emails. Many times they would change the syllabus and give you last minute assignments. I struggled a lot even with all the extra time I spent on all the classes and getting tutored. This disappointment I encountered has occurred to other freshman students as well. Don't be fooled by the lovely campus now. That's what drew me at first. Not only am I transferring, but soooo many others are also. Be far warned and save some money also. Side note, many Class of 2020 freshman have experienced some unpleasant people. My son is graduating this May and we were extremely pleased with the college. The campus is like a park! My son put a great deal into the College and got back what he put in, a great education, great experiences, a great professional network and great friends. The private school setting adds the lifetime camaraderie. It's small enough that you can actually get to know your professors, yet big enough for professional opportunities. Being in Baltimore and so close to DC, you cannot lose for internships and jobs. Good luck to all! My son was in the hospital due to an emergency on 10/3-10/4. He had to have an urgent surgery the very next morning. I was able to stay with him in his room and it was very comfortable. This is absolutely the best and only place I will take my child in any urgent situation, if able. From the moment he arrived, he was immediately taken care of. Yes, there was a wait and that's okay because every child needs care coming into the emergency room. We as parents need to be a bit more patient and have grace for the hard working medical team and their support teams💕 My son was treated with such care, grace, humility that I was just completely at ease with what was happening. I am rarely this way, but was able to be. I was able to remain calm and so was his dad based on the thorough and clear communication provided by the care team. We knew what was happening at every step and so did my son, in terms that was appropriate. He had a lot of questions about the going to sleep part as this was his first time going through surgery and his first night at a hospital. Thank you to Dr. Horton, Dr. Fox, and all of the beautiful and amazing nurses and care team who took care of Brayden. We are forever grateful for your beautiful souls. So you're going to see my name up here a few times. We took my daughter here because her legs were a little swollen. They tell my wife they want to put a catheter in my 2 year old, not suggesting anything else. Of course I'm objective you can get a sample another way. That was one thing, when they tell my wife they are going to draw blood and they put an iv instead. Call security when I tell him I demanding better communication between the nurses and us as parents. Cut me off in the middle of a sentence to ask in I'm done! Real professional Doctor . Father's stay calm, they want you to flip out so they can have all the say in how to treat your precious child. I'm able to be dominant and polite at the same time, professional.Will Hernandez

Unwilling to explain what our 2 year old's check up would entail, refused to actually conclude the check up unless my son was completely out of his clothes. One nurse said it was fine if just his shirt was removed, the doctor then said everything needed to be removed down to his diaper. Very impatient. If you work in pediatrics the expectation is that you have some type of warmth towards the children, we received none of that. As I was departing the Doctor started badmouthing me with his colleagues as a mother for not forcing my child out of his clothes to complete a routine wellness check. My program was great but am consistently unimpressed by the school's most senior leadership. Fully confirmed when IN CLASS, we were bombarded and demanded (not asked) to leave our room for a meeting… And I give ALL the credit to our instructor on pushing back. It was ten minutes before our class was scheduled to end AND the meeting was to start. The arrogance was proven right then there. Pure annoyance for having to wait while we finished. I also go by Michelle, and I’d like to leave an honest review of my experience with this practice (or lack of experience). I contacted the practice multiple times to see if I could see Dr Victoria Smith, and was contacted by the patient coordinator, Christine Defleuri who told me she has no openings and is fully booked. Fine. I asked her if I could be put on a waitlist. I followed up again in January 2022 and was told that she would “keep an eye out” for additional openings to see other therapists. As of August 2022, still have never heard back from them, except I received a feel good newsletter written by Dr Smith about how she has had to turn away other potential clients from her practice. Well, if you guys really cared shouldn’t you be following up with people who truly need help? I’m tired of reaching out to therapists and being told we don’t take anyone and then even worse never followed up with or checked on, or even making an effort to find another therapist. I have tried to make an appointment with them since May but no luck. They refuse to take me on because I have been traveling back and forth between DC (where I live) and Sweden (Where I have my sick father who I give care too during his cancer treatments). They can't take me on till I am in USA full time! Really bad service – I have tried to explain my situation over and over but they can't get me on with any consulars. Don't recommend them. EDIT: I was never looking for a therapist in Sweden. I love Hope+Wellness! I've always had a hard time finding a therapist that works for me. I've tried online therapy and it just didn't work. Finally my psychiatrist recommended Hope+Wellness and I am so grateful she did! I've been seeing Krystal Carter for therapy and she is amazing. I always feel so supported, empowered, and happy after our sessions. She has given me a lot of concrete and usable help that has been instrumental in making my life easier. Hope+Wellness also has a lovely billing department, they've been really communicative and helpful. The practice has a great Instagram too, and newsletters once in a while that are really nice to get. would give zero stars if possible. They lost my wife's application for the nursing program after they conveniently got all our money for the pre classes. First they blamed my wife for not putting in her application, but then realized they misplaced it and their response was, "better luck next year." Another student in the class was denied for the nursing program after South university realized she was missing a pre req class that they forgot to put into her degree program! Their first priority is collecting your money. Its not a big deal to them if they screw up your program and you have to wait anther year to apply.Brandon Smith

I am currently a student here and if I could I would give it zero stars. The only reason why I am staying is because my teachers that I had on campus so far are fantastic. The admin side of this school is HORRIBLE! The lack of communication in the front office from registering for classes down to financial aid is a joke. I originally called and established an account with Thriveworks for my daughter and called back to cancel it the same day because the first representative gave me false information. She told me the first appointment was virtual and all subsequent appointments would be face to face. I called to follow up and confirm that information the same day and was told all appoappointments were virtual. I then canceled my appointment, and membership fee. I called again the following day to confirm the cancelation and that I would not be charged for any future memberships or appointments. The representative, Princess, confirmed and said she would "term" my account which would render it inactive. I just recieved an email and now have a pending charge for a membership fee. I will be reporting this as fraud to my bank and will be reporting this activity to the Better Business Bureau. This is absurd and egregious behavior. MONEY SCAM!!! Total scam to get money. I called to get information and I set up an appointment over the phone. The employee over the phone failed to let me know that the counseling session would be virtual until the very end of the call. I was looking for in-person counseling so therefore at the end of the call I cancelled the session I had just booked. A few days later, I received a $99 electronic bill. I waited an hour to speak with a representative and they waived the fee. All of this should have been taken care of and ended. However, a week later I received another e-bill from them for $99. Attempting to work with Thriveworks has been one of the most frustrating decisions I have ever made. I have spent so many hours scheduling and rescheduling appointments with them. They assigned me with a play therapist who had no idea what she was doing, where she would read about new methods while we were in the room with her. We canceled membership after 2 sessions. Now, months later, I have spent hours on the phone with them about being billed for services I never received. I'll settle it one day, and days later get billed again and have to do it all over again. I am actually on the phone with them for that reason right now. Don't waste your time.Samantha Santasiero

Brought my son to the assessment center for autism testing. All messages were returned in a timely manner. It did take some time to get in (about 2 months from the time I called to schedule, not unbearable or unusual for a specialty office ESPECIALLY psych). I was able to complete all the paperwork online which was nice since he is 3 it’s difficult to fill out paperwork in office. We saw Dr. Lassiter and she was very personable, knowledgeable and kind. I had some questions about the quote they gave me for the testing but they were nice about it and corrected it when I pointed out what was incorrect. The day of our testing, we left on time however got stuck in traffic at the MMBT which ended up closing and it literally took us an hour to get there from north Suffolk (normally 20 min drive). I called them in tears but they were able to accommodate us with a later appt. We had our result appt today and Dr. Lassiter explained everything thoroughly and gave us a copy. I would absolutely recommend genesis to anyone with psychiatry needs!Chelsea Hinson

Rude customer service. And, for a counseling center, there is no empathy or listening at all. Unfortunately, I missed my daughter’s appointment due to her re-enrollment at school precisely during that same week. I completely forgot and did not receive any reminders. When I call back to reschedule, the lady told me she is not allow to be seen there anymore. Very unprofessional, lack of compassion, and lack of reasoning. They just shut the doors of a child with special needs who needed the services.J M

Even though we are just going through the process I felt like this was the only place that actually took the time to listen to my concerns and she was upfront the whole time and let me know that being that my son is young I might not get the answers I am looking for but at least they were/are willing to get him tested. The "doctor" barely spoke to me during the "interview". They also failed to speak to anyone who knew me, which I've heard is common practice. They did zero study. When performing their tests for hours I got bored and began to stare out the window. Maybe because I have an attention deficit. However, the evaluator wrote in her report that I possess below average intelligence and that I should work on focus exercises. She said I must have experienced some type of trauma, that she listed as unknown, and that is why I can't sit still or focus. I have had this issue as long as I can remember, but again, I don't think the evaluator was really paying attention. They seemed to be checking emails and doing various other things during the session. I waited 6 months for that "evaluation". Also, they make you pay 33 dollars just as a copay for that farce. I would recommend that if you receive a referral for this "office", you should immediately look into a different one.David C

I would not give them even one star. Took my son in for testing and the grad student who conducted the testing was clearly hung over from the night before, his appearance was disheveled, he had no socks on with dress shoes, his clothing was wrinkled like he picked it up off a floor and he smelled like alcohol. He conducted interviews with me and in the end I was blown off like a hysterical mother. They would not consider any of my answers valid after charging me for the individual tests. It cost me thousands of dollars out of pocket that insurance would not cover for bogus results. Never have I ever experienced a more unprofessional medical environment. They helped us snag a next-day appointment through a cancellation, and spent hours and hours patiently working with my child and me through all of the testing. Dr Boon answered all of my questions and even communicated with me throughout the week following the testing as I would remember more details to share with him. Buyer beware is the theme of my review. The neuropsyche evaluation itself was top notch – I work in the field, and I was impressed from start to finish. What I am NOT impressed with is the billing. I went to great lengths to ensure this service would be covered by insurance. I was assured repeatedly by the billing office that they pre-authorized the evaluation. At the end of the day, when you sign the paper saying you will ultimately be responsible, you will. Of course, I will pay what I owe but $1300 total out of my pocket is a HUGE chunk of change. I would never have pursued this if I had known how much it would be out of pocket! I am not saying that the evaluation was bad, I am saying that the billing issues were atrocious. At the end of the day, a business is only as good as it's weakest link, and that was the pre-authorization process. I AM grateful that a payment plan will be accepted, and kudos to the new billing person who did work hard to try to get my insurance to pay. It is NOT the fault of this practice that my insurance didn't pay in full, but it IS on their shoulders that the pre authorization information was faulty – this practice "does this for a living"; I don't. I did not know all of the questions to ask, and I got burned. I would suggest that anyone looking to have insurance reimbursement take the time to get the pre-approval on their own and in writing, and to be sure any deductibles that need to be met are met. (I found out that there is a separate deductible for mental health procedures apart from regular health care, and that is where the breakdown occurred. It is all on the same insurance card/plan – who knew? I do, now!!)Diane Seabury

My son was evaluated by Dr. Zurfluh. We were really impressed. He was kind, patient and made sure that we had expressed our concerns and give background of issues we had seen prior to the evaluation. He then met with our son and heard the issues from his side before performing the evaluation. While the evaluation was done virtually, our son still found it engaging and interesting. Dr. Zurfluh performed the evaluation on Monday and met with us at the end of the week to talk through his analysis and next steps. He took his time to explain his evaluation, made sure our questions were answered and then met with our son and us separately to talk through his analysis. He was encouraging when talking with our son and helped him see how making the next steps will help him be more successful and feel less frustrated. Now to implement these good ideas! I thought the office was very forthright with costs and what would likely be covered by insurance and what wouldn't when I initially called and followed up once they received confirmation from the insurance.Carrie Hampton

From start to finish our experience was nothing less than amazing. When I called they ask my insurance information they said they would look into and do the pre auth. my co pay was $35.00 which is GREAT….. When they called me back and told me what the co pay would be, but knowing it could also go against my deductible I called the insurance company and verified with them and had them email me just to make sure I had my bases covered. The information we were given was exactly what I was thinking from the beginning and was confirmed. Now we have a plan for my child's IEP and schooling. I am so grateful for how quickly we got in and how quickly it took for the report. I can honestly say the staff was amazing and for that I am truly and will always be grateful.Lauren Klier

I am entering my second year here after transferring from community college and have enjoyed my experience so far. All the professors I have had so far have been good and care about their students and what they are teaching. There are places on campus where you can get help outside of class which can be really helpful. The food can be hit or miss but it is generally good. There are a bunch of clubs and activates on and around campus which provides a chance to take a break from your studies. All in all I will be proud to be a graduate of ODU!Nick Riedel (trainboy45)

ODU is awesome. The school has been totally updated since we graduated in 1996. There are tons more class buildings and the football stadium has expanded. There are even new regular dorms and apartment style apartments. The university now has its own police force which adds to the safety of the entire university! I love all the changes that have been made over all there games. My husband and I are very pround to be ODU Alumni! Go Monarchs!! I went with a friend who had to have labs, x-rays & then she had 2 drs appts. We're from wheeling that is the why she had so much to do in 1 day. I also had to use a wheelchair. From the time we arrived at the front entrance & to the time we left there was a security guard offering to help get us to where we need to b. Everyone was so helpful & friendly. DO NOT ENROLL HERE. USF sent me to the St. Petersburg campus because the Tampa campus was “full,” despite there being off campus housing options still available. In summary, they relocated me to another campus that I did not want to go to rather than just inform me that I would not be able to have access to on-campus housing. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior that no university should ever engage in. I am utterly dissatisfied and enraged at USF for doing something this outrageous. Shame on them!CervezaCuba

This university needs Jesus. I have seen too much. I was a student at BIOLA until over a year ago I decided to leave. There is a specific 'BIOLA mold' that you have to fit, otherwise you will not fit in at all. you have to be evangelical (even though they allow all denominations to attend). If you are not white, or at least act like you are white, then you will not fit in at all. They have an annual SCORR (student congress on racial reconciliation) conference, but the students think that we should pretend that there is no race and that there is only one race (the human race). but don't realize that people of difference races experience life and the world differently. The one thing that bothers me the most is that they will allow pretty much anyone in for a chapel speaker. Kind of like TBN allows pretty much anyone on there channel. Each person is pointing in a different direction saying, "the right way is this way". And they have become so worldly. One good example is concerning their view on LGBT rights. Many years ago, mid twentieth century, they would not hesitate to hire coloured staff and faculty, in fact they would do it despite the many people that were strongly against it. But now they are extremely ambiguous about their view on LGBT people. I have many other things to say, but they are too personal. If you are considering going to this school and are not straight, white (or are greatly influenced by the white culture), evangelical, or between 17 and 21 years old, you should seriously pray about it. God did many amazing things for me there, but none of them had to do with the people there. He showed me His presence and His power and His love, but not through the Bible classes, not through the faculty/staff, not through the students. Many of the bible classes were too vague and required that your Bible be a textbook. Other biblical/theological classes don't even address the love, power, grace, peace, freedom of Jesus Christ. The faculty/staff are really hit or miss, but having personal conversations with some of them I noticed that they either focus on reason or they have strange views that they also teach in their classes. The students are neglectful in my opinion, they probably don't usually intend to be, but it truly is hard when you have a test or essay due in 4-6 different classes. It really bothers me that, just before I left, there was an announcement about a certain speaker who was coming back and how after they were here about 6 years before, that an almost revival occurred and lasted for a few weeks. The way they talked about this was very positive and the response was also very positive. The Biola (Bible Institute Of Los Angeles-founded 1908) Campus in La Mirada California is a beautiful place to visit, even if you're not planning to become a student. The creek that goes through campus swells up to a wild river when it rains, which is usually only in the winter. The library with the round lantern as identifier, is a must visit building, note that when you enter it says "I am the light of the world" but when you leave, enlightened by your studies, it says "YOU are the light of the world" Both are Bible verses, John 8:12 and Matthew 5:14 respectively.Kees Van Hartingsveldt

Hated it! For a "Christian College" It's shore is very racist. The first time I visited my best friend's campus I've received plenty of stares and light whispers like I do not belong. Teachers and counselors where very rude. The reason why I visited this college in the first place is because I wanted to try to register to be closer to my faith. From all the negativity I received from this college, It kind of questions your faith. Thank "god" I did not register and I saw the school for what it really is. A facade! I will never visit this college ever again.TOJO J

Do your research on employable fields, obviously, and go from there. The size of the U allows anonymity for those who want it, or intensely personal experiences through volunteering, groups, serving on boards, research opportunities, etc. I did all of those things while doing my undergrad at the U, and went on to happily accept an offer to do grad school there as well. I worked my butt off, but did end up landing an amazing job. I will be paying them appalling amounts of money well into my mid-to-late 40's, but that problem extends far beyond this one school. I graduated from this University. It is one of the top ranked research institutions in the country. Their pharmacy school is ranked second in the nation and believe me they deserve it. Excellent instructors and facilities. You are treated with respect by your professors. The campus is beautiful and the student body friendly. Minneapolis has a reputation as the biggest small town you'll ever know. Large metropolitan area but the people are friendly and down to earth. I love this place.Cary Miller

If you don't get weeded out in your first two years, you will enjoy the upper level courses. The best years were in junior and senior years where I interacted closely with accomplished faculty and their research. They don't give away degrees at this school. The University demands that you be resourceful and if you are used to being babied you will not survive this school or life, for that matter. I have the U of MN to thank for giving me the career I have.Nino B.
