I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 4 years old. I’m 23 now and they have never messed up my prescription or have had to do my prescription twice. I went in for an appointment 5/19, got my prescription taken(sat for 3 hours), and picked out my frames. Ended up paying 300$ because I’m very blind. Only took a week (5/26)to receive them which was great. I go to pick them up and when I put them on I couldn’t see. I call right after picking them up and have to schedule another visit. My new glasses had lower prescription then my current glasses. I asked for a refund because I would rather go somewhere else. Now I have to wait 2-6 weeks to receive my refund by mail even though I paid with a card.Yonathan Arellano

Professional, clean, safe environment to get your eye health seen to. You are furst examined by a student in their 4th year of Optometry school. Then a licensed Ophymologist reviews the students findings during your examination for a final review. At that point a prescription is written for either glasses or contacts. I really enjoy going to the Eye Center, because Dr Ensor and other Staff Technicians take good care of your eyes. They are Professional in their work, they tell you step by step the procedures they are performing on you eyes. If you have questions, they answer all your questions to the best of their ability.. I went to their welding program for three weeks after welding on pipe line and compressor stations for over three years. I wanted to become better at my job while I had some downtime but I quickly came to realize that none of the instructors could even weld so I left and went back to work wanting to stay home I got a local job in Memphis welding pipe and they said that only about 1 in 50 that they test from Delta tech can actually even pass. This company also said that they fired the Delta tech instructors because they couldn’t weld. Then three weeks after I dropped out they sent me a letter saying that I had missed more than 14 days without notifying them and I needed to sign a different drop form with the Slyy on it I refused and they won’t even call me back because they’re trying to charge my student aid Even though I paid cash they’re crooks. Don’t waste your money sending your kids here look into Arkansas elite welding academy they’re jam up hands. I’ve worked compressor stations with two of their instructors and they were the guy that Weld Boss went to ask questions on how to do things they were the best on the pad.ECC

Delta Tech school teachers are viewed as incompetent when dealing with natural hair. Prices for services sometimes are ok. A wash and blow-dry had my hair feeling like a brillo pad because they use inferior products and / or products not being used correctly for your hairtype. I completely understand why former students have returned to school to learn natural hair because all they want to teach you is chemical services. Women of color learn to love yourself so that you will not think you need to alter the appearance of your hair.Cassandra Herring

Thought this would be an amazing school after hearing good things. But sadly I had a bad experience with my advisor and quickly realized if I’m treated like this before I’m even enrolled what would happen when I am. My advisor barely knew who I was and constantly asked where my parents were (btw I’m 22 so my parents don’t need to be on my paperwork). She would never contact me and couldn’t keep track of my paperwork I sent.Faith Turner

From the first day I came in to visit the school until I graduated, everybody on campus was fantastic. Any time I needed help or was struggling, there was always somebody to help point you in the right direction. Everybody I have come into contact with has been extremely helpful. Throughout your program, you will remain in contact with a success coach, for me this was Mr. Hollis. Your success coach will reach out and contact you just to check up on how you're doing and see if there is anything that they can help with. Coming from a 4 year institution, I did not the advantage of a success coach and this adds a level of accountability which helps you to succeed. I just finished one of Concorde’s many medical programs. My admissions advisor was Mr. Todd Hollis, although I believe he works primarily in the business office now, he was a great first impression as to the kind of people Concorde has working for them to help the students succeed. Mr. Hollis answered any and all of the questions I had. He walked me through the step by step application process over the phone as I was completely things on my computer at home. During my time as a Concorde student, Mr. Hollis would always stop and ask me how things we going and always reiterate that he was there to help. I trained Early February 2021 before I returned to my job. I already had forklift training but I had absolutely no experience on the reach truck. Trey worked with me for one hour and before I left the career academy, I knew how to drive, lift pallets, and place them in proper location, just as I would in the workplace. Moore Tech has so much to offer. The program I can speak directly of is Machining. The machining program has very dedicated, knowledgeable instructors that assure students get hands on experience in addition to a verbal/written lecture. The school takes pride in students developing into valued members of the Machining community. Instructors are often able to assist students in getting Machining jobs even before graduation. One important rule they follow is making you accountable for your attendance. The instructors enforce the attendance policy which 1) helps prepare you for the real world and 2) assures that you're not just passing through the classes only learning pieces of parts of the skills. The classes are small which allows for a more personal learning experience. The instructors are available for mentoring even after graduation. Many people forget that a technical college experience is an option, which is nice to remember because Universities are not for everyone. There's money to be made & learning a trade is a great way to earn it! The student mix is diverse, ranging from fresh out of highschool to people that have been in the trade for years and just need more training. The class schedules also allow for those working during the day to come in the evenings. The graduation is a full blown event with caps, tassel, and a ceremony. The employees at Moore Tech want you to succeed and will become like a family when you're a student. Many business owners and leaders are on their Board and are proud to support Moore Tech. I attended Moore tech from '17-18 for industrial electricity. That dept. is a mess. Junk everywhere. The instructor would go on rants insulting the students and refusing to teach on most occasions. I reported his behavior and lack of professionalism to the Dean and nothing was accomplished. I complained to the Dean about a lack of equipment and resources to work on. He told me he's "doing his best and that money from a Fedex partnership was coming soon." I visited the school a few months ago to see if the changes took place…NOPE. The dept was still junky and the equipment is outdated by DECADES. When I was still there, I posted a review of the school(pictures included) and the Dean called me to his office to "strongly urge" me to remove my post. I did temporarily because I feared the retaliation of him urging instructors to fail me without justification. This is not a reflection of the other programs though. Machining was awesome and the instructors were extremely helpful and willing to assist you. Eric, Mark, and another gentleman with the big beard in Machining. Jury's out. No doubt there are some fine staff and professors on this campus. Fine students, too. When the doors are open, which is a bit too limited for my taste, this is a great facility with terrific infrastructure for the students. Ample parking, and stickers are reasonable. In balance, I think this is a wonderful education option for Clarksville and Tennesseans, and one that's perhaps too often overlooked. I would like to see it grow. I echo other reviewers regards the inefficiency and inefficacy of the administrative process. It's slow and cumbersome, making the student feel like a ("A!") number. This is most definitely frustrating, but not entirely the fault of this satellite campus. The "systems" and "language" take some getting used to, for sure. Mostly these are serious, supportive, and hardworking people who are doing triple-duty compared to the bureaucracy in the comparative Ivory Tower of White Bridge Road. Beyond extended hours, this campus needs (and demands!, to borrow from Micro) a food/coffee vendor. Note that this is a tobacco-free campus. I am a senior here at Nashville State Community College Clarksville Campus. It has been a wonderful experience attending this college. I am very fond of the Faculty staff from the head Director to the extraordinary staff members. They all are very unique and special to me. They go above and beyond in assisting students and providing them the tools and resources to utilize while attending school. The professors I have had are all very important as well. They each have been very detailed in demonstrating and instructing students on the materials for class. They all make themselves available and easy to talk to when needing assistance with any particular subject. As a part-time, non-traditional student at Nashville State Community College, I have had several great experiences while pursuing my Associate's in Business Management. I try to get a massage at least every 6 weeks. After trying Concord in Southaven, MS 1 time, I'm hooked! You aren't alone in the rather large massage area, but you are in a private area that is quiet and tranquil. Don't expect foo-foo spa experience. The University of Memphis is a great urban University in the heart of Memphis, Tennessee. It has grown and developed tremendously over the last 20 years. I am an alumnus with bachelor's and master's degrees in business. My father earned his EdD here, my wife (accounting) and one of my children (music) are also graduates, and I have two more children that will be seniors this year, one in child development and one in French. There are many notable alumni, including Brad Martin, the retired chairman of the board of Saks Incorporated, who could live anywhere in the world and chooses to live in Memphis, TN. My degrees from Memphis prepared me well and have served me well in my 28 year career in financial services. I still have close connections with some of my grad school professors, and I teach in the business college as an adjunct. We have many dedicated and deeply experienced faculty who truly care about their students. Like all organizations, not all employees are as strong or friendly or caring as others, but the majority of the people I have worked with and was taught by are excellent. Memphis has great facilities (getting better all the time), and a strong, diverse, and highly engaged student body. As with all higher education, you will get out of it what you put into it. My kids have all placed a high priority on their education (partly because we did, but also on their own) and as a result have done well academically and socially. They have been highly involved in campus life, including numerous academic, social, and professional student organizations. They have truly thrived and grown and matured here. Any time I've had to deal with administration over credits, applications for scholarship/dorm/etc. something has been messed up and its a nightmare to fix. I wish the school cared less about sports and more about my major, and how we don't have much in the way of resources. The food was pretty bad when I had a meal plan but I've heard its getting better. My time in the LLC was pretty fun. My professors have been great. The library is great, except for the time they charged me $300 in overdue fees when I returned all my books on time, and I had to talk to 3 people before one finally looked for my books, which were all sitting on the shelves. Wish tuition wasn't going up. Literally anything that has to do with money or bureaucracy is a nightmare – when I dealt with Bursar's they give me eye rolls and sighs and act like I'm the biggest inconvenience because the classes I paid for and passed with A's aren't showing on my transcript and it's screwing me out of scholarships! I don't know where the university finds its employees. But I absolutely loved my program and my professors! I just hate that my school is run like a for-profit business!!!Breanna Parker

Advisors are slow to respond to emails, ya have to contact advisors a week in advance to schedule something, rather than within a week regardless of deadlines. I am a transfer student and i have received a letter saying they have my records however when i sign for classes online it says i need prerequisites i have already taken and so i tried getting a permit but their permit site is down. the registration processs is more confusing than anything and is very fustrating. Also to reach somebody by phone you have to wait absolutely forever before you may get a hold of someone, it is rediculous.Jon McCarthy

Great college! I graduated in 2018 with my Bachelors in Biomedical Sciences. The faculty and staff are very warm and supportive. If you utilize your resources and are a hard working student you will prosper. Take advantage of the tutoring services and your Professors office hours when you can. The Biomedical Sciences staff is very supportive and will give you all the tools you need to succeed. There are so many great places to study if you don’t want to study in your dorm room or if you live off campus. The campus is very safe with 24 hour security. I lived on campus and I felt safe the entire time I was there. If you ever have an issue or concern there is always someone you can speak with. The school is always hosting events for students to participate in during their free time between classes and study breaks. I suggest that everyone try to get involved with a club or activity at Baptist because it allows you to connect with other students and have a break sometimes.Diamond Daniels

I’ve been here for a year now. I am a non-traditional student. I’m married and have three kids. This school has been so wonderful and supportive! The professors are so devoted to the student’s success too! The material is a lot harder than I was used to when I transferred here, but with discipline and time management I have caught up. The cafe is pricey- but other than that, I have nothing that I would change. They really go all out for students and are always doing some thoughtful kind of thing for us. If you can this should be your last option school. It takes absolutely to long to become a nurse. It’s usually 2 years once you get into a program, but their program is actually like 2 years and 4 months. They handled the pandemic terribly. Everyone else school moved on, but Baptist is the only one that held their students back by extending graduation dates. They made sure they didn’t lose money though. I never understood how you can get no breaks, such as summer or anything, you go to school way more than other students at different nursing programs, but finish after them.Mathie Zone

I chose this school on purpose, out of the 2 options, and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I was one of the first classes to be able to attend after COVID restrictions were lifted and the team of educators were AMAZING! Aside from following all guide lines to keep us safe, they were genuinely happy to be there and offered all the help you could need, especially if you took initiative and asked for it! I gained a lot from the labs, my sowing skills were… they didn’t exist at all before the lab and I had no appreciation for how difficult dissecting tissue is and how delicate a hand it requires before it! The lab was KEY for me and gave me the skills and confidence to practice under the guidance of my preceptors. Aside from that, the teachers were fun to learn from, without giving too much away, answering the questions on the chalk board and doors in a group was fun and challenging and their quizzes were difficult enough to show me what I was good at and what I lacked, and my test results def humbled me despite that we were working on stuff I do on the regular! The school has worked with me through some set backs as well, if you’re giving it 100 percent they will do the same for you. Not to mention all of their accreditation. 10/10 would highly recommend this school.Bethany Trovato

I learned a whole lot from this school. Presson is a great teacher for a student who is willing and wants to learn. Mr.Gary (HVAC) as well as the welding instructor Mr. David were all a great working team. However, I am shameful of the issues I've experienced in regards to my Diploma. Four times it was reprinted and twice words were misspelled, once the date was wrong and finally, just today, I received one worthy of being half way proud of. I spent 16 not so easy months attending classes and working a full time job to make it through to my goal. To have graduated and still having some people disregard the hard work as fake is ridiculous. Plus the hassle of which curriculum is which because I attended at a transitional period where the curriculum was changing to IMM to the Present day IMI. Honestly, I am and will further my education but won't proudly step foot on this campus anytime soon. Hopefully not many other students went through the trials I went through even as a willing, eager and successful student. The pride of being an Alumni here is almost nil. The renovations look amazing though it's good to know that the students in the following years will have some excellent new amenities.Michael A. Richardson

I went here from September of 2018-May 2019. Classroom: My instructor didn’t really “teach” but was available if questions needed to be answered. It was quite a chilled and laidback classroom setting. Curriculum was easy to follow. The coursework was pretty much laid out. Breaks: I really liked that we had our own lunch area at the back of the classroom because, well, there was no way I was going to the main cafeteria with that crowd. These people would not clean up after themselves and were extremely loud and chaotic. No way. Environment: Most of my classmates were respectable peers, however, the students at this school have issues. If you are a decent person that keeps to herself, beware— bootmouth thots run amok and will hate on you for absolutely no reason, hints of racism from foreign students and domestic students will be apparent and students belonging to certain programs will stick their nose up at you. 100% not joking nor exaggerating. Social depravity at its finest. Student Services: Hit or miss. It can be super crowded in there during January, May, and September. Please don’t go during these times unless you want your paperwork “misplaced”. I have no real complaints other than some of the staff seem to be mentally lacking and this could be crucial for requesting your diploma, transcripts or waiting to receive your check disbursements. Overall, Classroom: C+ Breaks: A Environment: F- Student Services: C Decent, (for the budget) school to get your foot in the door of whichever career choice you pursue.JustTerri

The employees here are very unprofessional and very much comfortable in doing whatever it is that they want they catch attitudes and make you jump through all kinds of hoops to get what you need. I was trying to get my test scores and as soon I finished testing I was told the test giver was gone for the day after 45 mins of raising suspicion and asking to speak with her boss she suddenly appears and gives me my test scores they speak to students here in a manner as if your incarcerated. Employees at this location lack proper etiquette when it comes to professionalism I tested at this location three times before I was informed that we could use a calculator for the math portion of test finally I pass the test when I used the calculator and was waiting on test scores so that I could sign up for classes in September at the covington location sadly I didn't make the deadline due to the test giver leaving for an hour and wasn't able to get all my paperwork in time for 2022 class year so I'll be attending classes fall of 2023 there needs to be an in-service given to the employes of tcat memphis on basic job responsibilities because you guys lack what it takes horriblyJAYE BURD

Seriously considering going anywhere else but tcat for education next semester. Idek what the curriculum is. Ive been in school for about a month. I havent learned anything useful. Cant buy school books because the schools certifying official went on vacation in the middle of certification. That lasted two weeks. Now that ive annoyed them into cooperation, apparently school funds and financial aid are late or have been pushed back due to my certification being processed late by the said certifying official. In addition to this Im being mislead by multiple tcat employees on fund availability. Online payment schedules havent been accurate. Im loosing bill money paying out of pocket and no school official ive talked to moves, genuinely cares, or helps unless i act out or until theres nothing they can do. Decent school. Will waist your time on training that should be done by a high school freshman, entering their first job. Things like two star rated “SkillsUSA Career Essentials”. Despite the overwhelming majority of students finding it unhelpful and an academic distraction from the rest of their learning. It is a check in a box for the school though, thinking this will fix the number one issue with employees that employers face, punctuality and attendance. It won’t. But the school pushes hours of it anyway, despite overwhelmingly negative student feedback. Honestly the school cares very little on student feedback. Hence no student government body. Faculty has overall say. I’ve done three programs here. I mainly return due to how my GI Bill is charged. Basically I do it for the money. The welding program was great under Greg Brooks. Other instructors? May get a lesser or greater experience. Depends on the instructor. Had Will Drainy for the electrician program, and he was great. Moved on, and Nick Paterson took over, and program became a joke in comparison. I ended up co-oping early to get away from the mess of a program. Then automotive with Andy Smith was good. Good instructor but a big disconnect with what he teaches and the third party programs he uses, and the actual ASE certifying tests. He knows he trade, but doesn’t know his third party content he assigns us. Trusts the name of the provider(cdx), and blindly assigns it based on that. When problems are routinely brought up on the content/sources, we waves it off and says he doesn’t know. Much of the instructing will come from third party online sources, with his lectures being good but minimally helpful in regards to the assignments, all of which come from CDX, DealerCONNECT, SP2, SkillsUSA…again none of which has Andy Smith actually done. So he has little to nothing to do with the vast majority of tests, quizzes, and assignments, you will do. Almost nothing is “his material”, maybe that’s good, maybe not. I find it not good, when the content lacks and he can only acknowledge it, but can’t/won’t fix anything. Point being it’s an ok school, but depends on your individual instructor. The front office is often less than helpful and cares more of the image and politics involved in academia, than student feedback…but the “trades” are so in demand and the basic training you get can land enough people into that $14-18/hr range..so many students are content. Having done multiple courses for pleasure, I’ve had more opportunities to see the schools faults. Be prepared to be viewed as high school students, who are on the payroll of the school..as opposed to adult learners who are paying to attend the school. Weird priorities on their end. #1 is “worker characteristics” (stuff public school teaches you like follow directions and behaving around others) #2 the actual skills of your selected trade. 3 out of 5….but they push several 1 or 2 star products which you’ll be required to spend many hours on, with no return aside from “putting in the work”.Jim Johnson

If you want to get into the Automotive Tech program here’s what to expect: the class is headed by a Ford Master tech who is in possession of 98% of the tools and machines you’d ever need to complete a job. There are “customer” jobs to complete, actual cars with actual problems. There is a mountain of computer work as well as task-sheets that are completed by real-world action being taken in the Automotive Practice Lab. Attendance is strict. Tardies and Absences can ruin your shot at success in the program very VERY quickly. There’s a lot of self-study required. However, I’ve found that every question or concern I have about the material, about procedures, about the work – will all be addressed in a professional way by the Instructor, who has been doing this job for a very long time and has a very potent, information-filled teaching style. I suggest taking copious notes during lectures. A uniform is required and professionalism is required. In return for your good attendance, lack of tardies and commitment to the work you will receive some solid, SOLID benefits that’ll help you for real; first the certifications you’ll receive are numerous and valuable. Certifications are offered on everything from Safety to Precision Measuring Instruments and everything in-between. Next is Manufacturer Training; Chrysler *AND* GM training is now included in the curriculum. This is OEM Dealership level proprietary Manufacturer training on their specific products, methods and procedures. These alone can be instrumental in landing the job you want. Next there’s the ASE inclusion in the curriculum. If you can study hard, retain the knowledge and exhibit the ability to use it during real-world-scenario diagnosis you can secure ASE certifications. The importance of these in securing good pay cannot be overstated. Instructor Smith holds and maintains Master level ASEs. Finally is the applied skills you learn from doing the actual job. Automotive Practice Lab has a drive-on alignment lift / alignment machine, bench and mobile lathes, all manner of automotive machine-tools. But you really kinda have to earn your time on these machines by working hard at the first chunk of Automotive Tech as a program which is Safety & Foundations. If you have the motivation to study, retain and apply it all, then you get to work in the Practice Lab. Some folks seem frustrated you can’t just jump into the Lab on Day 1 and start working metal and cars. Full disclosure: it’s hard but it’s fun. It takes dedication and tons of self-study. In my view so far (10.5 months into the program) it’s worth the patience and determination and sweat. Why? Because in the end Instructor Smith is an expert at more than the machines or repairing the cars; he’s an expert regarding the Automotive Industry and knows seemingly everyone in the industry in town. His advice is worth trusting career-wise and if that’s what you’re after, a career at a dealership doing OEM warranty repair and diagnosis, maybe consider this program? Hope this helps.hollow men

If I could rate lower than 1 star I would! I began in the Surgical Technology program in September 2018. The syllabus guarantees 6 month lecture time and 6 month clinical time. The program director we had at the time dragged her feet and was consistently late for class time so instead of my group receiving the 6 month allotted time we got 52 days. In this 52 days we were required to complete a rotation and participate in 120 cases, this is nearly impossible. 20 days before graduation, I was dismissed from the program for having anxiety disorder for which I am medicated. Apparently there is no such thing as an extenuating circumstance. This dismissal was a ploy by the current program director (the program director changed earlier this summer) to assert her dominance since no one took her seriously. I filed a grievance, but by the time I was able to meet with someone there wasn’t a way for me to catch up and finish the program anyway, so I declined to fight for my position. Needless to say this was the most undesirable experience I have ever been through in my 30 years of life. I was constantly humiliated in front of class mates, called out, and at one point was told to use tea tree oil on my scalp because that’s what they used for their dog. I was exposed to a persons bodily fluids when an instructor placed a soiled safety shield on my face in the middle of a surgical procedure (the shield being soiled is why I didn’t have them on to begin with).After being dismissed from the program, I was told by the program director that I might try cosmetology as that might be a better fit because not everyone is meant for the medical field. I gave up almost a year of my life for this nightmare of an experience that included being mistreated and discriminated against for being overweight during my clinical time! If I could go back in time, I would save myself the hurt and tears that have been shed and just pursued my BA like I plan to do now. Prospective students beware!Charlye Snider

The nursing program has become a joke. Literally if you talk to other surrounding schools about this program they laugh and say it’s ridiculous. They use a method of teaching called “reverse teaching” where they give the students hours upon hours of material and expect them to learn it ALL themselves. They give SO much material it’s impossible to cover it all and they won’t even tell you which parts are the most important. They hate giving any notes to help, they will only upload the PowerPoints once (if at all) and most of the time they’re messed up and they won’t fix it so the students just don’t get the information at all. When you come to class it’s basically just so they can answer any questions you might have but they get angry and nasty if you ask questions so there’s no point. They have you sit in class all day doing things like teaching the other students how to make origami as an example of “hands on/visual learning” but they don’t actually teach anything relevant to nursing in the actual classroom. The fall 2018 first semester students started out with about 80 students. Only about 23 made it to the second semester. Of the class in semester before that there are even less left. If you go upstairs and look at the photos of the graduating classes you’ll see that the classes get smaller and smaller because the program is getting worse and worse. The class can have a 74 average for a grade but because 2 or 3 students have an A they use that to justify why their methods are “successful” when the rest of the class is holding on by the skin of their teeth. They try to fudge their numbers by saying that 100% of their students pass their nursing exams but out of a class of 80 students they’ll be lucky to have 10 students left to graduate and even take the exam and the end at the rate this school is going. They like to conveniently leave that out. I HIGHLY recommend looking at other schools that don’t lie and don’t use reverse teaching and then try to blame the students for why it’s not working. They even had to INVITE students to come back or to join the program because it’s gotten so bad that not enough people are signing up but in the end all they want is your money so they can pay for their new buildings and equipment. Beginning my educational journey here for the second time May 29th and I've got to say I'm extremely excited. I've heard nothing but good things and the staff has really helped to make the process possible, as well as answering questions that no one else seemed to know or care to take the time to help me with. I look forward to spending the next 2-3 years here while furthering my education. Several friends have also attended school here and have had nothing but positive comments about their experiences. I can't wait to begin my education here in a few days and feel confident they will help me achieve my dreams. 🙂Will Cartwright

JSCC is what you make of it, really. Cheap tuition and it was very close to home for me. Students and professors vary. It's also crazy how limited the places to eat are, despite how long the campus has been around. Not going to point fingers, but I think some professors there are still learning, themselves and don't know how to break down the material for students. Which basically makes you your own teacher, while they're just there for the paycheck.You have to be motivated and know the major is right for you, or else you won't last too long.Lord Mandos
