I'm in love with this school. It has provided me the tools for success, and overall has helped my confidence as a leader. The school may be small, but has activities that are present throughout the week. This could be writing workshops, movie nights, sport games, musicals, dance parties, etc. The resources available on campus are all next to each other, so traveling from place to place is swift. This is a campus where you will find your family for life and will be guided by professors through the years to be the most successful version of yourself. The school maybe nice, I never had the opportunity to explore, however; their paramedic program is a joke. The staff runs each class on different criteria, for instance my instructor (Wesley Carter) stated we don't do pulse checks in CPR after the first check indicating an arrest. However; as a BLS CPR instructor that is false and the AHA teaches pulse check. However; he was my instructor so in order to test out I did as he wanted and when a different instructor tested me they failed me for using the broslow tape and for not checking pulses, said I should have done it by weight based and the broslow tape is a guideline. Since then I have spoken to several national certified paramedics, nurses, and physicians that state this school is a joke and shouldn't be teaching students period and that the broslow tape is there for a reason to assist in dosing a pediatric patient when weight is not obtained. The instructors can't get on the same page and give out different requirements and if you do what one says it's wrong to every other instructor. Also they give you test out scenarios at the end every instructor does 2 which is you standard, set by North Carolina and my instructor is the only one that does 3 scenarios. No uniformity and poor quality instructors. Horrible experience that I will never get my time, my money, and my family gatherings, birth of my child, and events because these people are not on the same page.Kevin Meiser

Get me outt. If I could drop out i would. This college is awful I learn more from quizlet then I have with any teachers. The teachers here are all lazy and only care about their paycheck. I asked for help and never got a response from one teacher and I still haven't :P. What I would give to be able to drop out from this college. I'd probably learn more by asking my dog for help then any teacher here. If your looking to attend DON'T. The classes are overpriced 400 dollars for ONE CLASS. That is awful. 2 stars for providing a college beyond high school in Kinston. One star for pay compared to other community colleges that pay adjunct instructors $35+ per hour. How has LCC contributed to Lenoir County in skills and talent? On Pitt college's website it states that its students have contributed over $114 million dollars to the local community. I walked around the college grounds and it is boring, no energy or excitement. Lastly, LCC should market more to Black students and the Black community because although Kinston is almost 70% Black; it's not reflected in its student body. I left a BSN program to attend CCHS and it was the best decision I ever made for my nursing career! Compared to the university I previously attended, CCHS classes are small and intimate, we had easy access to our teachers and advisors and we had a TON of hands-on clinical experience. I felt very prepared for the NCLEX as well as my first nursing job after I graduated. I then was able to work as an RN while taking classes online for my BSN after I graduated. Two days ago, I received an acceptance letter into CCHS’s Neurodiagnostic Technology program! The application process was made easy due to great communication, kindness and patience from Robert, the Coordinator of Admissions. Mrs. Ashley Hastings, the Program Chair, answered all of my questions in detail, making me more eager to join the program. I am looking forward to gaining knowledge from her. I've attended CCHS for almost 2 years now. I like how the staff has worked diligently with student during COVID-19. While everyone is still going through difficult times, they have been able to adapt to regulations and restrictions of healthcare that have been placed during the pandemic. For a school that promotes women's strength and diversity, I am appalled to see that racism for the current students is still rampant. For those women to feel afraid and not be able to come forward and speak against it, is abhorrent. Do better. How can you allow for advisor's and students alike to treat others like that? Do better, it's 2022. Also, as I toured, I went with a family member. It was assumed I was a single mother and between the families who toured my "daughter" and I were skipped over for some questions while the larger families with relatives were asked more. I find this to be extremely telling along with the racism that this would not be a school I'd want my daughter or anyone's daughter to attend until they can work on their biases. It's also a little alarming they don't talk about what grants or how much anything is until you've been "admitted." And even more so when you find reviews elsewhere that state that they mess with tuition, or charge more without letting people know. For a school that charges so much, the environment seemed lacking. Also the tour guide mentioned something about being able to help children with autism, in a way that makes me feel like it's meant for others to feel good and not benefit the children. The approach in which it was talked about could have been more tasteful. Also how can you give a tour and not know anything about any of the degrees offered there? Little disappointing. I have an Odd and an Even daughter and we were absolutely thrilled with Meredith! I always felt my daughters were safe there and never felt uneasy about leaving them there. Everyone from the President to the Maintenance staff to all of the Professors made us feel they genuinely wanted our daughters as students and not just our checkbook. Both of my girls really enjoyed their time there and I would recommend it to any prospective student to at least visit, It isn't for everyone but both of my girls were very pleased with the education they received.Brian Smith

Grad from several years back. Extremely few adequate professors/ administrators, majority incorporate liberal indoctrination into curriculum. Way too expensive , and college caters mostly to those who live on campus. The job I am currently employed at pays more than the jobs my degree is for. Be smart and do the research to look for a much less expensive college , and consult multiple sources before getting a degree that allows you limited career opportunities. Lovely campus, with almost 9000 acres! Huge trees and grand lawns frame Gothic architecture which themselves house state-of-the-art labs and lecture halls. Duke's research grants are famous for being generous, even for undergraduate students. Keep in mind, though, that the admissions rate is very very low, so you probably won't get in.Ameya Majmudar

When you read the reviews that say staff ignores students believe them. They rarely answer the phones, do not return phone calls, and rarely respond to emails either. It only gets worse once you are enrolled. You are a student ID number and a tuition fee. I wish I was lying when i say my English teacher has not graded any writing assignments this semester until yesterday after I spoke with the dean and lost my temper (3 weeks to end of semester). This was my first (and last) semester here, I had enrolled in online classes and transferred credits from a community college in Tennessee, being a working adult. If you are just jumping through the hoops to have a degree under your belt and don't care if you actually learn anything, its a fine place to do that. if you expect to get the education you are paying for to increase your knowledge base and be better prepared for your future, this is the wrong place. I feel really bad for the recent high school grads and others from the local school systems who have not had exposure to quality education to be able to tell the difference and recognize that they are being short changed/taken advantage of, and its the students who will suffer from being under-prepared, not the college or the instructors. Pitt Community College has not been a good experience for me at all. I received no help from the financial aid office, they told me they could do nothing for me unless I had a parent present even though I am 20 years old and am completely independent from them and they love in a whole other state. Don't even get me started on the "advisor" situation there. I was assigned to a "success navigator" not an advisor and he had no idea what he was doing. His name is Clark Howerton. Being a first generation college student, I needed guidance so I went to him. He offered me 0 help at all. I was then transferred to a "real" advisor during my 3rd semester there. She again offered no help. I had to email her 2 times over the course of a week, so that I was finally able to get a response. Instructors told me that she was not a good advisor… so why is she one? Because of these mistakes through pitt, I am falling behind in my academic schedule. Would not recommend this institution to anyone.Presley Bryant

So here's my Wake Tech story. I secured financial aid and then enrolled into Wake Tech as a full-time student. And then the financial aide office attempted to cut my much-needed aid twice, the first time on the Friday before my classes were to begin and then the second time was the following Monday via email when I was literally 4/5 the way through the commute from Fayetteville to Raleigh to attend my first day of classes, causing me to turn around and head back home. And another thing: maybe it's just me — perhaps I missed something?–however it seems that Wake Tech expects new students to simply show up and know what to do? Nothing's explained, nearly none of the stuff that I needed to know to get started was covered during the online orientation that new students are required to complete nor were we given any booklet or the like to explain how stuff works . But let's rewind a bit. After securing financial aid, enrolling and completing online orientation….I remained clueless. So thereafter I spent about a week commuting back and forth between Fayetteville and South campus in an effort to complete registration and get everything else taken care of. I did so under the assumption that I'd get stuff figured out if only I'd drive up there and speak to Wake Tech face to face–but not so . During this process I asked advisors and other staff a variety of questions only to be told conflicting info and advice thereby increasing my confusion. And then I went to the bookstore where I learned that some of the books that I needed were out of stock and that notebooks cost $8. So I left without my books. I did however attempt to attend classes first day of semester, as mentioned above, but then received that email from the financial aid office– had that not happened I would have went to school and maybe things would have turned out differently. I did receive another email from someone else at Wake Tech telling me that the email from financial aid threatening to reduce my aid the 2nd time was a mistake and that I'm covered…but unfortunately I've already missed a week of school so I guess I'm out. Very depressing as Wake Tech is the closest college offering a full curriculum on substance abuse/addiction counseling and that's what I want to do. But, it is what it is .Frank A

You remember when the pandemic started, and everyone had to start learning how to use computers? Now imagine, a bunch of teachers, creating online courses from scratch with no help. ITS A DISASTER. Its like NO ONE set a criteria for how the classes should follow a general structure, so that students aren't spending the first 2 weeks of every new class trying to figure out what is what. Its like no one showed them, "this is the gold standard"… this is what a well put together black board class looks like. The online courses are archaic. (Dr. Frear, I complained about some things and I am sorry. After seeing what else is our there( summer 2022), HOLY MOLY. Your blackboard set up is the least confusing and was by far, the best thing I have seen yet) Instructors use blackboard, not as a classroom but as a file folder system. Instead of using the platform, they made it so that every thing is word documents and or files you have to download when they could have just simply used the actual platform. I should only be downloading PowerPoint slides, worksheets, homework, etc. Not opening a document to read something you could have made a video and "instructed" us or copy and pasted to the platform. Does anyone know the definition of a syllabus there? It should be all encompassing. I shouldn't have to read 5 documents to figure out how I will be graded, what I will be graded on, the rules, the expectations, which books I need to buy. If the department has a syllabus, I'm pretty sure you are supposed to take that document and incorporate it into your own, at the very least create an addendum/appendix. My Grades should clearly have due dates, weighted totals, and all of the grade-able items at the start of the class. There should be no, imagining what my grade is at any given moment.Buttercups

I’ve spent 29 years teaching at Wake Tech and have taken a number of classes here too. I know what it’s like at Wake and I am telling the unvarnished truth about it. I’m retiring soon so it’s not about getting a promotion! Generally speaking the facilities, faculty and quality of education are really very good – in addition the price is still reasonable. Don’t be conned by private educational facilities that promise you a “great job” after graduation and then put you in a low end, minimum wage job where you can’t even afford to pay off your pricey school loans (this happened to a friend of mine). Go to WT and get a better education for a fraction of the cost – you will leave with real skills and THAT’S how you get a job – with knowledge. Plus Wake has a solid reputation with employers. Yes, there are aspects of the school that are unfortunate – I hear complaints from my students, and there are a number of policies that drive the faculty crazy too – much of it is due to the typical bureaucracy that seems inevitable with very large institutions. Is it really better elsewhere? Maybe. Maybe not. Nonetheless, if you go with the sincere desire and motivation to learn, and you treat your teachers and fellow students with respect – you will be supported by all and do well. The ILC really is a remarkable facility and is intended to help struggling students succeed. When it comes to the financial aid office I hear the best approach is to fill out ALL the paperwork that is required COMPLETELY and ON TIME. This college has made a terrible impression. They got me admitted as a transfer student, and I have been preparing for the Fall session online, but to appear in person, and I just found out I missed the registration deadlines because student advising never got back to me. I took the new student orientation and the professor, just skimmed through all the info. There wasn't time for questions, and she cut it short by 30 minutes. It didn't even explain how to register online. I had been in communication and prepared for this session but didn't understand how to register so all the classes I had 'added to my schedule' weren't actually registered, and no one followed up with my questions. I thought I was registered, and even as I try to register now after the fact, it still says I need student advising which no one ever got back to be except for an email to say I already had everything set up. I am torn about this. Now I have to wait another session to get started?! NO! I will take my education somewhere where I can actually get assistance. This is such an emotional drag.Gabrielle Flores

So our 4 month old English bulldog was in for a serious heart condition and upon referral to NC State from out local vet office we began trips and treatment with NC state ER for his heart valve restriction. They quickly realized how serious the condition his heart was in and informed us that the only chance at life for him was heart surgery. They set a date for surgery over a month out 3 days before his scheduled surgery his abdomen was so swollen from fluid in his stomach and lungs that they had us bring him in early to drain the fluid so he could breathe and have a chance to make it to the surgery date. He did make it to surgery and we meet several times with discussions about the surgery and his chances with and without the surgery. The surgery initially was successful and they requested him to return for a follow up and changed his medications due to his heart conditioning worsening. Tonight his abdomen is severely swollen even with the change in his prescriptions and we have called multiple times and when speaking to the receptionists at NC State (who act like you are a burden for asking them to answer the phone and treat you like a 3rd rate citizen and talked down to my wife trying to get her off the phone) they informed us they would not see him or provide any assistance for him at this time. This after spending over $8,000 this week alone with NC State. The cardiology department has been great with they care and attention, however the ER DEPARTMENT on the other hand if I could give them minus 5 stars for this review I would. I will be seeking legal recourse for their lack of care and compassion after they received their $$ they could not seem to care less if our beloved puppy lived or dies. This is absolutely ridiculous and insulting. When it comes to life or death you don’t turn the other way and say oh well. You need to try to triage and make an attempt in an emergency situation when you are a medical professional. I would love someone from bc state to contact me in regards to this situation.ben hoggard

Once your pet actually receives care, it is very good. Actually getting someone to help you is another story. Our dog needed spinal surgery and was losing use of his back legs. They sent him home from the ER multiple times before finally listening to our pleading to do something to help him. They finally relented and performed the surgery and he has made a full recovery (5 stars for that). However, the customer service was terrible. The "doctors" talk down to you and make you feel like you are bothering them by asking questions about your pet's condition, billing screwed up our invoice multiple times, and people answering the phones seemed annoyed to try to help you. If your pet is in their care, don't even bother trying to call for an update on their condition. You will get a generic response and be told you can't speak with anyone that is actually helping with your pet.JJ

First off we had been trying to get our lab seen for over a month for an eye injury but was told it wasn't urgent. When we arrived the lady at the front desk was very unwelcoming as if she cared less we were there. Once seen by Dr. Smith ( only know her name because of the prescription as she never introduced herself) she was more concerned with us wearing a mask than us being able to understand what she was saying but she did manage to let us know that due to the extensive time of inflammation in the eye my lab would be permanently blind like it was our fault, then tried to cover her tracks by saying we don't know if sooner treatment would have changed the outcome. On a side note the student Abby Cox was awesome and showed so much care, concern and interest. Too bad the Dr. made it such a bad experience I am already not looking forward to the follow up in 2 months.Derek Spencer

I really enjoyed the staff and the faculty at the campus. The night classes came in handy if you work full time during the day or if you have small kids to take care of. Also, with so many online classes it is much easier to handle the work/life balance and responsibilities. I like how clear everything is to understand, how the faculty are subject matter experts and work with people who need extra attention and extra patience as life can be challenging when juggling so much. The people in financial aid and the Dean are really good about answering questions and providing guidance and support. The class structures being one at a time in the semester and the small amount of people in the class help make it easier to have a relationship with the faculty. Don’t get me wrong, if you don’t study and you don’t focus, you will not succeed. But if what you want to do is get right to the point, work hard and get a job, this is the place to go. I know other people who have studied in different places and I honestly feel like when we talk about what classes I had to take and what material I had to study, I really feel like I got a lot more out of the experience than they did with theirs. This school needs to learn how to listen to the students sometimes. I can say that with some of the reviews they are right about the money part if I would’ve did more research i probably would’ve went somewhere else because how is it that I signed up for classes and did all the paper work but then when school starts and begin classes that all of sudden the books cost more then you expected. You should have known that before classes started or during the process prices don’t change overnight. The instructor i had no longer works here but she was a very good teacher, she made sure that you understand everything and always tried to relate it to everyday life things to help you remember and only because of her am i glad that i came here because she really made me fall in love with my program. Private school scam! Young adults, please don't fall for this. Sharon Palmer will manipulate you into signing over to pay fifty thousand dollars for a five thousand dollar course. All they care about is money and their credits don't even transfer. I withdrew in Novmeber and they still are triyng to get me to pay loans for classes I never attended. When I called them today, they said they split your fafsa in half (which makes no sense) and use the other half for the next semester wherther you go or not. This way, if the half doesn't cover the semester you're forced to take out a loan. Coretha and Sharon palmer spammed me with emails at one and two in the morning trying to coerce me into signing things and making me feel like it was life or death. Sadly, I enjoyed being a client. However, the "Manager" made appts for Apr 8th, which I waited 3 weeks for w a particular student. I was called a week prior to be told, sorry they were closing for Spring Break. I could not get an Appt for another 3 weeks now. I called the VP in GA, the Receptionist there, hears but does not LISTEN, when corrected, also easily Offended. Clearly an unprofessional pattern. So, I was upset w "Manager", no cursing but bc child in adult body, he said I can no longer return as a client. THIS IS HOW YOU WILL BE TREATED HERE. Then, the President or Principal (title?) at Raleigh, NC takes my complaint, says VP is there n will discuss the matter. Apologizes, as he made the decision w Spring Break but was unaware there were client appointments for the 8th, if he knew, he would not have made the decision to close. So, this clearly shows the "Manager" omitted the information of client Appts to his Supervisor for his own benefit and then likely also lied about me. This is like a child daycare at best it seems as the Adults are clearly missing and ZERO real Leadership with ability to Discipline the one who acts like he needs diapers in a "Manager" role, and instead fed him a pacifier vs a spanking. 🤔🙄Jane Annon

I attended The Medical Arts School in 2013 for the incredible Massage Therapy program. I was able to go to school during the day and continue to work at night. There is also a night program that allows you to work during the day and take classes at night. Both options have amazing teachers and students. This program allows you to learn all of the information you need in order to pass the MBLEx exam and become the best massage therapist you can be. The teachers are great and give you any one on one time that you may need. If you have a question, they will gladly answer it. They also take the time to demonstrate any movement or work any muscle that you learn about. Where else can you get two massages a day for nine months?! What a wonderful way to learn the information and get regular bodywork. I give The Medical Arts School five stars because it allowed me to become an amazing, very successful massage and bodywork therapist! A+Jennifer Rozycki

After having graduated at this I was surprised to realize how much more I learned here than any of the others schools in the area. The attention to trigger point therapy and sports massage has set me apart from the rest. Having worked first in a spa and now in a more medical setting I can honestly say you get what you put into this program. Most of the staff is extremely knowledgeable and are true artists in their work. They love to help students who show drive although they are sometimes a bit too lenient in my opinion. Miss T is the best teacher I have ever had! I have never felt so well supported, encouraged and uplifted during a course. Miss T is the most beautiful person, inside and out, and knows her material extremely well. She teaches with kindness and confidence every single day. Just finished me CNA 1 class at CareOne and I am so happy I did. CareOne staff are friendly, organized, and very caring. They will help you get through any course you take but it's up to you to put in the work. I did the weekend class, which included 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday. The teachers at Care One are really thorough and helpful. They are happy to answer questions and show you things as you need. The curriculum is set up to be easily digested even though it’s an accelerated program. The admins are helpful and polite. I will refrain from us my academic experience, positives and negatives in this review because I believe that is subjective. — My previous review was rated two stars due to the horrific parking situation. With the completion and opening of walkway bridges from the two parking decks near Building F, it is no longer a very long walk to the classes should you use the decks. This eliminates the issue of fighting for a parking space that is seen at the parking lots directly adjacent to the buildings. You simply no longer have to park there. With this massive parking issue mainly resolved, my rating can be realistically much higher. The buildings are extremely well built and beautiful, with truly modern designs. The classrooms are well designed for the most part. One notable negative within the buildings is each elevator for each building is either incredibly slow, or atrociously slow. I highly recommend just using the stairs. Each building has handicap access and handicap parking. Each building is environmentally friendly: LEED-certified, which is a first in the nation. This campus is empirically better than Southern Wake Campus (previously referred to as Main Campus), and is overall very impressive for a Community College.Mihaly

I love my school. As an adult student of 3 years here, I can say that Northern Campus is probably the best campus with the most resources. Everything is new and modern. They have a food pantry for students in need, which is a wonderful service. The library is spacious. Computer labs always working. As a member of the Fall class of 2020, I am proud to be a Wake Tech Eagle! It’s never too late to get your college degree. I’m 36 years old and can promise you that the joy and pride you feel when you finish is so worth it. Invest in your future and in yourself. Affordable education at a beautiful campus! Only con is that the bookstore rarely buys textbooks back. I’ve never seen my assigned advisor once. They never return your emails. That is my only real gripe. WATCH OUT! Wake Tech will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat. They make promises that they DON’T keep or even follow through with. There are a lot of people in the first year automotive program that are getting thrown under the bus because they were the “guinea pigs” of this new program. Wake Tech is not giving them any opportunities that the group behind them is getting, no tuition has been paid for (which was promised in the signing ceremony), their classes have become pointless, etc. How are these students getting any of the equal opportunities the others are? Why do these first year students have to suffer because they were the “guinea pigs”? Last month, everyone was super nice, despite the debilitating pain on my right side, fever chills, and vomiting. I needed to get a CT scan to confirm what it was. It turned out to be a 6mm kidney stone that didn’t show up on an x-ray. Yesterday, I got a bill for $2,638 dollars. For one CT scan that they didn’t even send an image of to my doctor. Not only that, but they reported it being two 3mm kidney stones when it actually was a 6mm stone once I passed and caught it. Stones over 5mm are less likely to pass and their false report could’ve put me at risk. My insurance only paid $787.38 for it, meaning I still owe $1,850.62. l can’t believe this is legal. Our healthcare system is an organized crime ring. A modern day mafia. There’s absolutely no reason this should cost this much. If I’d known they’d charge me this much, I would’ve just risked it turning out to be something life-threatening. If you go here, demand to see the bill before you get anything done, even if you’re in enough pain to cloud your judgement. I would leave zero stars if it was an option. I drove three hours for a doctor ordered MRI only to be denied service. A woman named Mandy confirmed my appointment at 9am the morning of, reviewed questions, medical history, etc and said “we will see you for your appointment this afternoon.” I then drove three hours and was denied service upon arrival. I spoke with the supervisor, Teresa, and confirmed they did not change their policies in the five hours since My conversation with Mandy, but they Still refused to perform my scan. I lost an entire day of work and two tanks of gas over this. I will never use this facility again and would advise anyone who must be treated here to confirm EVERYTHING before making the trip to their office. I had scheduled a CT at Wake Radiology's Wakefield location. When I called to ask the CT technologist a couple of questions about the procedure, I was routed to the North Hills office. Glad I was because I got Stacy who not only answered my questions but arranged a much earlier testing time and corrected misinformation given to me by the inexperienced scheduler who originally made my appt. Once I arrived for my CT, Stacy explained every step of the process that helped allay any concerns. She was compassionate and efficient. In short, Stacy turned an initial negative impression of Wake Radiology into a positive one. Kudos to the other office staff who greet you with a smile and friendly hello. While the experience in the office itself was fine, their billing department certainly leaves a lot to be desired. A few weeks ago I started getting sketchy text messages that looked like a phishing scam from a debt collector (the first I'm hearing of owing any money) – upon further investigation, it turns out that I owed money to these guys from a visit about 6 months ago. However, I never received a bill in the mail or a phone call or anything from them before the collection agency started to contact me. It turned out they had (maybe?) been sending bills to an address I haven't lived at in over 7 years, even though I'm pretty sure they had me fill out paperwork with my up-to-date information when I came in for my appointment. They also definitely had my accurate phone number, so I have no idea why they didn't call me or seemingly make any other attempt to contact me about my past due balance before sending it to a collections agency. I can see from the other reviews that I'm not the first person to have this issue, so If you choose to go here, make absolutely sure they have your correct info on file, and follow up with them if you think there's even a possibility you might owe for the services provided, unless you want to be sent to collections with no warning.Ellen Baker (WolfehWuff)

I was at the Midtown location for an MRI. All of the staff I came in contact with were very nice. However 1 person stood out from the rest. I look at the card given but could not remember if her name was Stephanie W. , Brooke, or Jen. I do remember she had the sweetest southern accent and was from Harnett County (Dunn, NC). She was absolutely wonderful!! I’m a large man and she made me feel so comfortable, assisted me with the socks, and was so calming during the entire process. I was so thankful for her. She asked me what kind of music I liked and I told her Christian. The music was so on point and really helped me endure being still on my back for what seemed like a long period. I had an excellent experience with Cardinal Points! From my first scheduling phone call, to my walk out of the office on the day of my visit, the team went above and beyond to ensure a positive, affordable, comfortable experience. This is for radiology building on Executive Drive where they do MRIs. The radiology clinic where they do mammograms, etc. is very good. 1)Scheduling is not responsive to doc’s referral. Have to get on mychart and let my doc know that no one has called after 2 weeks. This has happened more than once. 2) Scheduling is irresponsible. They scheduled me for a time when there was no one in the clinic—not in any of the offices in the clinic. However, the door was open. I walked right in and walked around inside the clinic. 3) Post procedure—I had 2 MRIs in one session. I was in the tube for more than an hour. When it was over they put me in wheel chair and took me straight to my car. I kept telling them I was shaky and asked for some water. They did not respond to that at all. I would like to be referred elsewhere in the future.Elizabeth Margolis

They have a schedule Issues. They try and load the rooms up and expect no issues to be encountered. Was scheduled for a colonoscopy at 10:20 finally was rollled back to start at 12:52. They said unexpected delays which supports their scheduling problems. Typically you account for things like polyp removals by assuming that a percentage of patients will need them and account for that in your schedule. When your primary purpose is to maximize profit, you assume perfect world conditions and no issues so schedule back to back. That is how duke schedules their procedures, perfect world and maximum profits. If you are aware of this and know that a simple procedure may become an entire day event that is ok but be aware of their scheduling incompetence and indifferent attitude when it comes to schedulesjlynn129

The customer service is awesome. I was scheduled for a mammogram at 9am and an ultrasound at 12pm in a different building. Penny who did my mammogram and it as painless as possible found out that I had another appointment at noon. While I was getting dressed, she checked with Elaine who does ultra sounds and they were able to switch my appointment. I was out by 10am for both appointments!! I would like to leave a one-star review warning people to reconsider. Just to get a tiny bit of visibility, even if it's on this small of a scale. I'm not knocking or disagreeing with the people who left five-star reviews. I'm only saying that not everyone gets that level of treatment. Some people have been disserviced. Some people really have just wasted their money, effort, and SO MUCH time. I don't have the eloquence to come off as anything more than a disgruntled student. However, I believe it is important to give the next person more validity. Your experience as a new-to-this-college student could end up being a five-star-worthy experience. I’d only like to point out, that is not a given. Experiences here are based on many factors, the most important being the program you choose. Unless you have heard reviews speaking about a specific program at this college, I urge you to take generic or unspecific positive reviews with a grain of salt. (The nursing program is the only one I personally keep hearing glowing reviews of.) I came into this program with an idealistic mindset, thinking support would be plentiful. I did not expect to be met with blatant dismissiveness, passive-aggression, and inconsistencies. For any prospective students to CCC&TI, please consider all your options. If this is still what you must do… at least you’re not going in completely blind. I sincerely wish you the best of luck, you’re going to need it!Paola Myers

I took a course in truck-driving, CDL-A, under Dennis Wilson. He has integrity, is trustworthy, and I recommend any student to sign up under him. I'm grateful for everything he taught me, and for keeping the students in line. I received plenty of driving time, and it prepared me well for the road. I got hired on, and got out of the training company ASAP, and eventually was earning $1200+ a week, no kidding. There are opportunities. Some of the trainers were fine people, but the main thing is that the head instructor, Dennis Wilson did a great job. LouisComandOr Zerxius

School is garbage. No one there is willing to help you and they clearly don't care about their students. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs. Trust me when i say that no one in that school even knows what they are talking about even though they work there. They don't know their own system. When you call to ask questions, you can tell they get upset and aggravated at you. Horrible student services and horrible advising. Not to mention classes are boring and non-interactive.wolfVital

The entire staff was friendly and efficient at the 3320 Wake Forest Rd Raleigh location. Services provided during my visit were from Jill and Kristina. They were proficient, professional, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. Very clean and comfortable setting. The staff does their best to not keep you waiting. Duke chart is more than helpful for including an organized system for me to access all sorts of information and correspondence. Very user friendly.Prema Turnbull

This office was very professional and welcoming. It is difficult to be sure where exactly any radiology appointment is on the Duke Raleigh campus. I went to Sampson community college for the RETA ammonia refrigeration operator 1 course and was amazed at the information that I was taught during the class! The instructor Francis Leerkes was great at teaching and making sure that all of the students in my class understood the safe work practices and shared tons of knowledge with each of us. It was pretty amazing to describe the system that I have at my workplace and then Mr. Leerkes would draw it up on the board and explain each detail of each piece of equipment so that I had a true understanding of the system that I was working with. And then he would draw up the other student system from the plant that they worked at and explained how it all worked which also gave me knowledge of how other plants operate. I would highly recommend that anyone interested in Ammonia refrigeration to not hold back but to get enrolled today so that you can get the knowledge that this instructor has in the field of Ammonia refrigeration!Jarod Kimberlin

I do not recommend Sampson Community College! I am currently taking a paramedic refresher course through them and keep getting enrolled in other classes. I’ve also had to call and tell them several times I’m not supposed to be signed up for these extra classes. Every time I call, I’m transferred to different people because the person I’m talking to says they aren’t the right one who knows what to do. And when I signed up for the class originally, it was confusing and I called and asked for help. The woman I talked to then said I had signed up for other classes but she would take me out of them, but obviously never did!Christy VanDeraa

This an excellent school with lovely stuff. From the first time I met the Dean, to the stuff who works in the book store, so helpful and friendly. And each lessons has the tasks checklist, so you will forget what to do. I also take classes at different schools, but this the only one I feel safe, relaxed, and fun to learn…cannot believe that I’m about to graduate, I’ll always miss they, miss the school, the classes…Kay Cheung
