I attended Sullivan for their culinary arts program and I have some insight for future students going into the program. First being, have an idea for what you're wanting to achieve in life. Culinary school is very expensive for what you get and there are other, more cost efficient ways to achieve your goals. I recommend working in the industry for at least two years before you decide to go to culinary school. You will find a lot of well-known chefs didn't graduate culinary school. Everything you are learning in school can be self taught or learned in the industry.The key to becoming a great chef is the understanding of the industry. I say this all because at Sullivan its just a matter of time before you're screwed over by financial aid. The entire department is very disorganized. Important papers of mine seemed to keep going missing in their hands making my life very stressful. Also if you plan on doing on campus housing just DON'T. It is crazy expensive and it is exactly like high school. I loved my time at Sullivan don't get me wrong but is it worth the money you spend, NO.Annah Cecil

I haven't had any problems with Sullivan. I have been here for about 6 months and after attending JCC and UofL I must say Sullivan has already given me a much better experience. JCC and UofL let me (at 18) pick a bunch of random classes that were way too hard and never got back to me about any issues, it took way too long to get in touch with anyone for meetings or questions and at Sullivan they are always a quick phone call or office visit away. Teachers seem to really care and take the time to call you on their off time to congratulate you on good test scores, inquire why you are missing class, or pull you aside in class if you are on the brink or failing or even on the brink of getting an "A". If you don't miss a lot of class there won't be any problems, and there are even students in my classes who are active duty and miss class a lot and teachers have been as accommodating as possible. I can honestly say that transferring to Sullivan University from the University of Louisville was one of the best decisions I ever made. Class sizes are small, so it's easy to ask questions and get help if you need it. The instructor's here aren't just trying to "push you through", they actually care that you learn the material. The food served in the cafeteria is great and all of the staff/personnel are super helpful and friendly. My only complaint however would be the financial planning office. Some of the advisers can be kind of rude and you have to constantly call/send e-mails just to get a response for an appointment, in my experience. It's best to just show-up in person and request a meeting. Other than that, I would highly recommend Sullivan University to potential students.Brea M

I cannot complain at all about this place they do things that others can't they do things that others won't every time I show up or I ride there smiles warm up if anybody was to complain about this place it would honestly be because they were probably not paying attention and I mean as in the guest not the workers because the workers are on top of it they're very professional classy clean and every one of them is absolutely adorable. Yes the people working there are indeed very kind. They are definitely non judgemental. They are extremely informative and they do everything they can think of to help the public. Some wonderful people work there yes that is true indeed. BUT I believe something is wrong with the equipment they give their clients. No fault of the workers who pass them out I believe this as well. They don't use these things theirselves so how would they know. They don't, they are unaware that the needles do not work like they are supposed to. Buy yourselves some from a pharmacy and compare the difference. I promise there is a difference. Im almost positive the needles they pass out are rejects from the company that manufacture them. Actually I'm about 95 percent sure I'm correct in this assumption.Elisabeth “J.” Gryffin

Very kind, informative and simple! Employees were so kind and generous, I didn't feel the slightest bit judged at all. They easily provided sterile and essential equipment to my friend and I, and even educated us on safety and preventative information. They refuse to deny anyone who goes there, and treat all with the utmost respect and dignity. I was reluctant to give them a shot at first, but now I make going there a priority when I'm in the Louisville metro area. I would rather stab myself in the eyes with a hot saudering iron rather than to ever be seen by a student again. I should have known better. Was in the chair for 3 hours while a grad student attempted a root canal. I still have half of the root left in the tooth along with a piece of metal from a file. I think the student spent 2 of the 3 hours attempting to remove the metal but was unsuccessful. Instead of retrieving a teacher or someone with experience to help her, she brought back another student. The student expects me to come back to be seen two in a half months later to torture me another 3 hours and give it another go. She tells me if she is unsuccessful finishing the root canal that I will only owe another $100 on top of the $400 I've already paid. I don't even know of professionals that expect to be paid for work that wasn't completed. So now I'm $400 in the hole, in pain, looking for a professional to finish the job. Had i spoken to my coworker beforehand an heard about how they did the same to her husband and him getting an infection so bad that he required surgery, I would have NEVER come here. Save yourself time, money, and pain… Find a professional!!Kristen Justice

Beware!!!! The UofL School of dentistry will rip you off! I had dental insurnace through my job. My 5 year old needed to be sedated to have a few teeth removed by oral surgery. Our dentist referred us to a dental surgeon who wanted to charge me $1403 out of pocket, after what my insurance would cover. I contacted U of L to ask about their pricing. On my initial call, I was told it would be nowhere near that amount however they could not tell me an actual price. In fact I was never given a price until the bill came. They performed subpar work and ran up a bill they knew my insurance would not cover. Like numerous x-rays, teeth cleaning without asking, and I was charged for several things more than once on the same bill. I ended up owing them more than an actual dental surgeon on top of what I owed the hospital and the anesthesiologist. They do not respond to phone calls or written request in a timely manner. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.Jessica Rains

I went in for a root canal. Upon my visit my pain level was a 10/10. The students where very friendly and polite. I have a lot anxiety going to the dentist but they made me feel very comfortable. I was skeptical that students where going to be performing this kind of procedure but they only prep you take your vital ask health questions. An actual Resident comes in and does the procedure. I was there ab 2 hrs and when I left there was no pain. I was told I may feel pain for 48 hrs but I didn’t feel anything. I’m so glad I came and I would recommend school of dentistry to everyone. University of Louisville is where I am doing my PhD. I really love what I do and my supervisor, professor Sharp, is a great person both in research and personally. I learnt a lot from him. I am in mechanical engineering school. They have been spending a lot of money recently to renovate all the instruments in the mechanical workshop. For example they added five new 3d printer for students to play with. Also, they bought 5 new micro cnc machines. There is also one faculty member that teach the students how to safely work with these new devices. For the measurement lab, a couple of new instruments have been purchased that are really awesome. Fluid mechanics lab also has new facilities to explore different aspects of the fluid mechanics concepts. Being a lab TA, I can tell for sure that all the ME students are enjoying the new facilities. They have also been hiring top ranked new faculty members. I know some of them, they are from very top universities and can add to the reputation of the ME department. The financial aid department is the worst! I'm not certain if it's just "certain" students (everyone knows that certain means black students….well the ones who don't play sports for the school) who this department gives a difficult time or if they just don't know their jobs in that department. They will tell a student that they need 1 thing to complete their file, and once the student returns the paperwork, they will tell them they still need another document. The student will return that document and then be told that they need another. Instead of giving a student a list of everything that they need to complete their file they will have students jumping through hoops, running back and forth to their office and placing holds on the students account as if the student has done something wrong. University of Louisville, if you want to revamp, start with firing everyone in the financial aid department.Memoir Young

Great professors, I can't think of one that I didn't learn a lot from during my years there. Made a lot of great friends. If you have other options, I would encourage you to consider them before this University, though. The administration is corrupt, you won't have to look too far to find out about the scandals of the University. I hate saying it because I had so many fond memories there, but you can get a quality education elsewhere and avoid contributing to the cash-grab by the University upper administration/athletic programs (Google: UofL and prostitution, read up about it for yourself).R. I switched to Dr. Gupta after not having a good experience at another UofL Urogynecology office. I had my first appointment with her today and she was absolutely wonderful! She was very understanding, super kind, and had the greatest bedside manner. Most of all, she actually listens and that can go a long way when talking to a doctor. I'm extremely happy that I switched to her! We have an actual treatment plan now and she didn't just push me off to another medical professional.Victoria “Raisondetrexx”
