And as you can see most reviews are "google user" so I wouldn't be surprise if the staff is actually rating the school themselves, but this school is horrible. The staff is rude, unprofessional, and could care less about the overall wellbeing of the students as long as you pay tuition. The campus police are nonexistent they partake in activities I'm almost positive should not be happening. One of my friends was assaulted and the swept the case under the rug, never filed documents, and never followed up with the case. The financial aid staff takes money from out-of-state students and applies it to in-state students accounts (ie. workstudy, loans, etc.) because that is 90% of their student population. The department staff never answer phones, emails, and their office hours are false advertisement. The bursars office has lost money and payments sent to them and their reply is "sorry" followed by never answering the phones again. They have personally lost housing payments of mine 2 years straight which resulted in me losing housing and or paying double. This school almost lost its accreditation and really they should have because half of the students don't go to class but the professors past them anyway because of their "friendships." This is by far one of the biggest mistakes and bad choices I have ever made in my life. Had I known the undermining and the unprofessionalism this school advocates I would have never committed to it. I have been here since my freshman year and due to their "credit equivalency" scheme I could not transfer. The tuition is definitely not worth the education you are paying for. The professors are more concerned with being "cool" then actually teaching and the administration staff is more concerned with being paid then actually helping the student body. I hate the school after graduating I never will return (Now I understand why Oprah didn't), I hate the staff, and the president has yet to follow up the duties of Dr. Shields who I believe made the biggest changes now TSU is back where it started from since her departure. I graduated here back in Fall 2017 with my BBA in Accounting. It's a rocky road dealing with staff; even during slow times outside of registration. I used to work in the college system, so I understand the workflow of how I am supposed to handle being a student (which offices to go to for help, who to ask help from, keeping track of specific documents I need to turn in, etc.). However, it was difficult to get help when needed. Some staff can be very rude and unhelpful if they ever answered their phone/email. I would also go to the main campus offices to try to talk to someone, and there were several occurrences where offices would be randomly closed without putting it in their voicemail or webpage. This is not helpful when you work full-time and have to take off work to go to campus. Aside from the nightmarish organization of student services, this is a really great university! Most of my professors were very passionate about their teaching, and actually showed willingness to help you if you are struggling or congratulate you if you are doing well. Going into upper-level accounting courses were tough, but rewarding, and I felt like the professors and classmates were there to support me all the way. What's also great about this university is how affordable it is. I managed to graduate here with no student loans. It's hard, but doable. I also appreciate the accreditation is the same as other local large universities. So if you are looking for an affordable and good university, check out TSU. Currently attending this school and I do not like it one bit. This school is full of some of the most racially bitter people I've ever met. On more than one occasion I've listened to discussions that include how all whites are such bad people and how cop killing to them is a good thing? I don't know what kind of stuff they're smoking but obviously it's screwing with their brains! Last semester I had 3 teachers so absorbed in politics in their class that I could hardly see through their BS to actually learn anything. I don't know why but the teachers can't seem to stop preaching how right their political party is over everyone else's. God forbid your opinions differs then you get alienated in class as the gun nut or extremist for saying something like "I don't like the President" I've actually been called racist for stating my opinion on how I don't agree with the President's policies. Funny thing is I'm not even white I'm a light skinned Hispanic but to them it doesn't matter I'm a white racist to them. So yeah this school is not welcoming at all It's sad to say this but if you're Republican you don't belong and if you're not willing to have other people's politics shoved down your throat then don't go here. School is for learning, it's not for having other people's beliefs shoved down your throat we all have different opinions and beliefs and this school fails to understand that. AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF A SCIENCE MAJOR!!!!!! Poorest Chem department I've ever experienced. The chemistry teachers (in my experience) are just bad teachers. They don't have the experience to teach in some cases or are just unorganized in their lectures. They can tout #1 Biology Program in the Country (for Christian schools) but Chemistry is bloody important too. Every science major needs Chemistry. So, what's a good biology program really got to do with it if Chemistry teachers are flippantly FAILING students without any analysis of their own teaching. Why are the chem labs impossible? I graduated from Lipscomb in 2011 and loved my time there. The university has an active campus life and dedicated staff and student leadership. I really enjoyed living on campus, my Bible classes, attending concerts and campus life events, and going to basketball games. I majored in organizational communication with a minor in marketing, and I have been working in digital marketing since 2013. I still visit Lipscomb's campus and enjoy seeing how it's changed. Lipscomb may not be for everyone, but I encourage prospective students to schedule a campus visit and take a tour.Brandon Caples

I completed the MOL Master Organizational Leadership program entirely online as a distant learner. My experience has been pretty pleasant, however some of the course material was out-dated so revisions has been made to the program offering a new specialization track for students to benefit from. My professors were Amazing minus two 😊😊, however I would say that they were bad I just think that sometimes differences of opinions should be respected. I actually excelled in the MOL Program and learned so much about l leadership. My only complaint is that my degree was mailed out to me in a card board envelop which is beyond shocking to me and an insult. I would prefer that my hard earned degree have been package in a hard Trevecca Nazarene University portfolio. His writing is incredibly callous, divisive, and lacking any semblance of the compassion included in the fellowship I was raised in. MBA recently built one of the most high-end squash centers in the south (3 beautiful ASB singles courts) despite squash being almost non-existent in the Nashville area — there is nowhere to play!! Squash is not a popular sport, and courts are very expensive (often costing hundreds of thousands of dollars), so I cannot comprehend why MBA will not allow local squash players to even PAY THEM to use their courts. Would they really rather just have them go unused most of the time? Instead of leveraging the small but dedicated squash community that Nashville has to help grow the game, MBA is choosing to shut out anyone who is not an MBA alum, or parent of a current student. MBA doesn't appear to have a squash team, nor does it appear that they have a squash professional on staff, so I imagine the courts have to be empty 99% of the time. Squash unfortunately has a reputation as a sport reserved for the elite few, and MBA seems intent on carrying on that tradition.Robert Biskup Jr

Our son is a student at MBA, and we are thoroughly impressed, pleased and grateful! The school really understands boys and takes teaching and learning very seriously. Our son has enjoyed the new friends he has made, and admires and respects his teachers. The faculty is top-notch and committed to the school and the boys. I have been a student of this college for over a year. DeVry University does not properly teach their professors about certain procedures of the school. Professor Anthony Hamilton is a horrible professor and does not have a passion to actually teach his students. I am a student who have graduated as Cum Laude' undergrad. Since attending DeVry until recently, my GPA was a 3.93. It has went down and I am not at all motivated as I was before with continuing this school. The class I had with him was a class in which I ordered a book and the book was NEVER used in the class to the point when a student could not even refer back to the book. The professor wanted the student to read his dissertation from when he was in college and other items he felt that he wanted to insert into the class. I first inquired about appealing the grade through the professor and I have emails in which he insisted and tried to persuade me not to file an appeal. During this time, I was contacting other people and then when I finally got the information to appeal, the other administrators who got involved did not care, they prolonged time for weeks at a time. Over a 2 month period, my appeal was denied saying that I did not appeal the grade in the correct time period and manner, even though I didn't get the information I needed, initially. There was absolutely NO urgency on my behalf…AT ALL. I felt that this was a good school, who are concerned about their students, but I have seen otherwise. I am down about this college now and I am just trying to make it through. I will never allow Dr. Hamilton to teach me again. The best professor DeVry has is Mr. Joel Bunkowski. He is awesome, down to earth and his experience working with people truly show in all that he does.LaTasha Pridgen

I have been a student at this campus since August of 2013. I am now a senior and have recently found that I will not be able to complete my degree on campus as the remainder of my courses are only offered online. That would be fine if they were general education common to all degrees offered but these courses are for my major concentration. I have also found out in recent weeks that this is the norm across the entire DeVry network of schools where they will offer some degrees at various campuses without giving the students the ability to complete the course through on campus instruction. If you are like me and need the interaction of a real human in order to understand the subject being taught don't attend this school. Update: I have learned from a recent visit to the campus that some of the classes now offer a hybrid online/in person type of instruction. Apparently, while taking certain classes, students can interact with their professors via webcam thus attempting to fill the void for the students that need a real person to be able to understand the subject matter. So, after learning of this I am going to return to DeVry and attempt to finish my degree. I will update this review as things progress.William Moores

As I have completed the medical billing and coding course the Academic advisor put me in a class that I was not supposed to be in. I was supposed to take another class before that one . then the financial department can’t get their stuff together and get everything I need to know from one person to the other I’ve been around around for the last weeks on my final disbursement check and one said it would be cut within two weeks of classes then the other one said no . I had to sign a paper and then it will be cut on the sixth or seventh week . so then I called back and now they decide to take the money from my government financial aid to spend as they see fit instead Of me being in charge of my personal financial stability .for that and I have completely screwed my financial department of my schooling all to pieces. I would really keep a close watch on my financial folder if you go to this college.Amanda Brown

Audit Students Beware: The university created a 'school' email address for me without notifying me and sent all e-bills to this account, which I had no access to. By the time they notified me on my personal email of semester fees and tuition, I had accrued 140% in interest and late fees, despite having called Student Accounts at the beginning of the semester to confirm no outstanding fees or tuition existed. Pam in Student Accounts refused to even respond to me when I requested proof of when and how the university allegedly notified me about the email address they had created. Unethical and shockingly callous customer service – and incredibly steep fees that I could have avoided altogether had they properly communicated with me. I was financially punished for their amateur operations, and forced to pay late fees on the threat of being sent to a debt collection agency. I can only express my disgust at a system that cares more about their financial gain than the ethical treatment of their students.Ang Pearl

The campus is absolutely stunning. The education is top notch and the students are kind and friendly. Since it’s a bit liberal arts it allows you to major in non premed but still go into science. Usually you can find paid research done at the medical center. I would say the only downside is that it tends to lean very liberal in its teachings. They don’t represent conservative ideology well and when conservative viewpoints are expressed they will shut them down in class. That’s a common thing that has been occurring in universities across the country so I won’t hold it against them.N

Best university in the nation. "Harvard of the South" is a discredit to Vanderbilt by association with a lower tier institution. Fantastic faculty and classes are a hallmark of all its schools with great student:teacher ratios and quality, industry leading professors. It was a tough and rewarding experience to attend the MBA program here ending with my graduation in 1981. Some aspects of my experience from there have been helpful and even formative for my life. Two pictures are attached and they were taken at the graduation in May 1981. One of the pictures includes the procession and in middle is Dean Richmond of the Owen Graduate School of Management. He was the early visionary of the school and executed plans for the building that I never was able to take classes in. Another distinguished faculty member is behind Dean Richmond and he was Dr. Dewey Daane. Dr. Daane conducted fascinating seminars which I pleasurably remember experiencing. I think classes began in 1982 in the building which Dean Richmond worked so hard on. Previous years' classes were located in a building which may have been torn down and replaced across from the park with the Parthenon replica.Steven DeGangi
