I sent my residency information two weeks ago and nothing is in my file! Classes start today but I can’t start because they have tuition as out of state. Also they had to have my JU transcripts as if the credits transferred because of a policy. I’m no longer going to this school. It’s bootleg and ghetto. They are slow about admissions process and don’t reach out about what we need. Even in the student portal there’s nothing that said I needed anything or that my residency information wasn’t received!No Name

Online school at Saint Johns river state is especially a scam but all the saint johns state college schools are trash. Online classes besides a select few are all run through third party sources in which u have to pay hundreds for on top of the already pricey classes in which the teachers do not do a single thing but wait for weeks after to grade assignments that aren’t auto graded by bots it’s crazy almost like these online teachers have a passive incomeVan Rippon

So far they've been able to help me with every problem I've had. I've only taken a few classes so far, but all of my professors have been great. Especially my Spanish professor, Dr. Gil makes learning so much fun. I would highly reccomend this professor if you decide to take Spanish to fulfill your language requirements.Caleb Kulpa

This University is not a safe place to send your child if you care about them and their safety. I spent two semesters living on campus, my freshman year and they were the worst months of my life; communal bathrooms are not clean, things are broken often and do not get fixed, and security cameras are few and far between. The campus itself is not in a good neighborhood, which is a common fear of most people. Administration has done nothing to make the campus safer, there are not any cameras in parking lots, the cameras in the municipal parking garage do not work, and people are able to walk on to campus even if they do not attend the school. Young children steal student's bikes in broad daylight and grown adults walk onto the campus as well. The cafeteria food is not good and the staff is 99.9% of the time very rude, and you may get a plate of food thrown at you even if you are polite. I have witnessed people be served raw chicken, romaine lettuce when there was an E. coli outbreak, and also contract E. coli. The Bursar's office constantly removed and added money to my account saying one day I owed X amount of dollars and then one day I owed Y amount of dollars, and whenever I asked why my balance fluctuated during the semester, they had no answer. Financial aid is not easy to deal with especially if your family makes a mid-range income. If you household income is low or very high, do not expect to pay a lot per year. The social environment is like high school: judgmental and everyone stays in their own "clique" The only reason I will give this "university" a 2-star review is because the professor's do care about you and your success. They will work with you, and help you when need be. Every professor I had only wanted their students to succeed, and nothing else (with the exception of a woman who just had graduated from college and did not know the subject which she was teaching).Ashlynne Donovan

This school is one of the best veteran friendly schools in the U.S. currently we are in the top 100, we even have our own USO sponsored lounge called the defenders den where we can be around fellow veterans. The classes here are incredible and the professors genuinely care and thrive off interaction. You will not become another gear in the chain at this university, also the campus even though small is absolutely gorgeous. The worst school ever! I did a year at JU and lived on campus! there is nothing to do! You will be bored out of your mind if you are from the north. The staff was unhelpful, and forget about getting any extra financial help. I come from a one parent house hold and my mom lost her job I went into the aid office to see if they can help me with any extra aid and all they could offer was goods from the food pantry. I've been calling about the associate in nursing program for a while. I always either get a voicemail or an unsuccessful transfer attempt. Very rarely do people call back. When they do, I get a crumb of relevant information, a promise to follow up, and then I can't get ahold of them again. I tried to get my transcripts evaluated, was told that FSCJ's anatomy and physiology credits most likely wouldn't be accepted because Fortis' anatomy and physiology classes are 6 credits each whereas FSCJ's are only 4. But the advisor assured me that my other general education credits should transfer. However, based on the same logic, my general education classes also wouldn't be accepted because they are 3 credit classes whereas Fortis' are 4-5 credits. None of this is confirmed of course since they never return my calls or emails about the transcript evaluation. This is a NATIONALLY accredited school. This means regionally accreditated schools (like University of North Florida), likely won't accept their credits. You will likely have to retake your general education credits if you decide to further your education. This is based on personal experience with nationally accredited institutions. And yes, every school has their own credit evaluation requirements and each school, whether regionally accredited or nationally accredited, can accept or decline credits as they are fit. However, this is especially important to consider when going from nationally accredited to regionally accredited schools. Keep this in mind before you spend $50-55k on an associate's degree here. That is what the associate degree in nursing program at this campus costs. I say this because they make it so hard to find that information online and you have to play phone tag with them to get an appointment scheduled to EVENTUALLY get this question answered. I had high hopes for this school, but it's been disappointment after disappointment and I haven't even started in the program. Schools, like everyone, want to make a good first impression but if this is their best, then I've seen enough.Katherine Eggers

I am so sorry to hear that others have had such a bad experience with this School. I can only speak for myself. My experience at Fortis College has changed my life. I was hired right off of my Externship and have been at my job since 2015. I learned a lot at Fortis and not one time have I had an issue educational or personal that I felt that the staff at Fortis did not hear and help me with……Every Teacher that I had was eager to step in and give me the extra push that I needed and I felt it was from the heart not about how much money the school could get. I now have Career not a job. I was chosen because Fortis College comes highly recommended at a lot of Employers Human Resource offices. If anyone has had a bad experience I am so sorry that you feel this way….but I myself never seen anything that couldn't be worked out at this school. As a matter of fact I am going back for my Nursing and I am excited because it is a smaller school and I feel that I will get all the help that I need to succeed. I am so pleased to have been a Fortis College student. From the President, Directors, Instructors to the staff have displayed great care about each of the students, in a very professional and informative manner. Each teacher has taken the time to understand the individual needs of the student, matches that with how the student learns best and truly cares about the students. This makes the learning environment flexible and adaptive. The school is large, clean, and following Covid protocol and this is important for me, they observe discipline, they know how to find an approach to each student. Took the fast track CNA exam prep course as well as renewed my BLS cert here. I now have my CNA license and able to work PRN while I further my education. Instructors here are amazing and the classes are kept small, there was about 4 others in my 2-day CNA prep class. Maximum class sizes are 6 students. I was the only one renewing my BLS and had 2 others there for Instructor training. If you are someone who needs more one-on-one instruction time come here and don't waste your time going to a college where their classes are larger and longer. Courses here are done fast pace and are cost effective. Ms. Eunice really cares about all her students and makes sure that you have all the material you need with I believe 3mths or so of access to the online material.Rebekah McMellan

Ms. Eunice is an amazing instructor, patient, honest, kind and very understanding. she even showed use things we can do to make our jobs easier, and gave me suggestions on places I can apply for work. Acumen is the best place in jacksonville and surrounding areas to get your CNA training!! I went to two other places for various reasons and was not impressed. Everyone at Acumen went above and beyond to make sure that I had everything I needed to be 100% prepared for my state test. The staff is not only friendly and knowledgeable but also very warm and welcoming. It truly feels like I had the upper hand during my exam over students that went to other training centers. My instructor was Tracy and I can’t say enough about her. She knows her stuff!!!!! do not recommend whatsoever. their cna training program is too short & they rush through it as fast as they possibly can. i passed the state exam because i learn quickly & i got the easiest skills during testing. i think a lot of people probably fail the state exam after going to acumen because they don’t teach you enough or for long enough. i learned so much on the job that i wasn’t taught. also, the owner, Rod; literally laughed.. & i mean CACKLED because i said i work out & i’m plus sized. i have PCOS & it’s hard for me to lose weight. i’ve ALWAYS been active in my life. i’ve never experienced anything like that from a medical/educational professional in my entire life. This school was recommended to me by a friend. She said she had enjoyed the small classes, the personal touch and well prepared she felt ready for her exam. Her words proved to be true. In my class there was only 3 of us, we were given time to ask questions, practice and share encouragement with each other. Mr Rod, our instructor encouraged us, listened to our concerns and worked with us as needed. I passed both the CNA and Basic Life support classes certification the first time. During the clinical tests I could hear the instructions that we were given in class replay in my head and helped me pass on my first attempt. I would recommend others to this school. This place doesn't look like much at first glance, but the instructors and skillsets you learn here are TOP notch. The people here will ensure that you will be able to pass state and national exams, as long as you're willing to do the leg work to get there. It's no wonder this place is highly respected in the community. The 4-week, 5-days-a-week, 5-hours-a-day CNA class is the perfect balance between practicing skills and learning the material in the appropriate amount of time. (120 hours is also what is needed in the state of Florida to be legitimate, so I wouldn't opt for a 3-day course at other schools.) There were also a lot of people from Georgia that drove down just to attend this course specifically, so that alone should be enough to let you know how good this course is. The 4-week, 3-days-a-week, 5-hours-a-day phlebotomy course will leave you wondering how in the world you learned the material so quickly. It is honestly a hard course, but you get lots of hands-on practice and a good amount of study material to get you through. It's only a tad more difficult than the NHA phlebotomy exam just to ensure that you'll pass it when the time comes. One of the best parts about this place is that if you tried your best and you still didn't pass the school standards, you are welcome to retake the class at no extra charge. What's also cool about this place is that you can keep coming back to practice your CNA skills up until your CNA state exam date. This place ensures that they certify the RIGHT way by giving you the hours and experience you need to prove that you are capable. Do yourself a favor and do your training here to make sure that you're actually taking the right route in getting certified…the FIRST time.Mel O

My experience doesn’t the best, first of all, if you are *Not fluent in English this place isn’t for you, they don’t have any inclusive program, and everyone knows Prometric had an option to do your reading test in English and Spanish, but they don’t, speaking and reading English fluently is a *requirement, maybe they don't telling you at the begening, but they don't help you enough when you already did payment, the course is more than a month and at the end, you have to do a lot of test, practice and reading, and that could be ok if they explain to you at the beginning how are they program work because you don't get your certificate until you pass the state test, that means I lost my time and money, finally I got my CNA license as a challenger in a different location, of the course! It take months to sit for the state exam because the school need a certain amount of students to test, before the state can come out to do state board testing. I've been a PCA/Med-tech for 2 years and I wanted to continue/better my career and decided to go into phlebotomy…searched all day for classes near me and decided to choose this one. DON'T LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS THIS PLACE HAS ! Miss Lisa is an amazing, kind, and smart instructor ! She made us become a phlebotomist in one day, and a laboratory technician in just two! This is especially good since we are in a pandemic, you don't need to take a 4-week class. During the lecture portion she has given tons of study material, videos, links, and other helpful advice. Ms.Lisa and Darren are two of the BEST phlebotomists I have ever seen. This class was very thorough!! Be prepared to learn! It is extremely hands on!! Phlebotomy is not a skill you will just walk out and have, this is something that will take time. Ms Lisa and Darren give you every trick in the book, but ultimately it is up to you to do your diligence and put in the work and practice practice, practice. The school has potential but unfortunately for me the lack of organization ruined it for me. Most of the students, like myself are prior military; we thrive off structure and organization. I felt like some of the professors didn't take their jobs seriously. I also felt they were making me take unnecessary classes. There is really no academic advising. They put you into random classes as they see fit. You really have to stay on top of your education path. Military is free easy money and I feel that some schools exploit that. What pulled me into the school is the one class a month while still maintaining full time status. This is an awesome aspect and i think it's what appeals to students. Most of the professors are really down to earth and easy to approach. I would say do your research and see what works best for your situation. How would I rate my experience at Keiser University (Jacksonville Campus)? From the time I have enrolled and up to my current year has been the most amazing experience. I am a junior in the Biomedical Sciences program, and the environment Keiser provides is unbelievable. I have a family away from my home life. The students, professors, faculty, and even the security are all so welcoming. I really enjoy waking up and going to my school knowing that no matter what is happening I will see many smiling faces that day. So, from a faculty member (Even if part time). This school is different than your run of the mill university (Not talking about the public/private differences). I cannot speak for the financial aid people, I taught. There was a student who hadn't been in a Math classroom in 6 years. After he graduated he went into the military. The teachers work *with* you, mind you the more students per class the more difficult it is with the 1 on 1 time. I am pretty sure if you asked for 1 on 1 time you'd get it. Classes run from 9a – 1p and then from 6p – 10p. There is a 5 hour gap where your instructor is there. If you cannot find them go to the front desk (Don't call) and say who you are looking for. Its safe to say that all of us do care; even if they're untimely returning phone calls.Daniel Shubow

I Love Jersey College!!!! The front office staff and teachers are awesome.. They go above and beyond to make sure students have a successful journey while going through each semester.. I completed my NCLEX-RN test preparation with Impact Nursing Academy over the Summer 2021. I enrolled in the eight week session and it was the best decision I could have made concerning advancing my career and successfully completing the NCLEX-RN exam. I want to tell any military personnel considering enrolling in DeVry University and using any VA or Military program to pay for their studies to be careful. I was in the process of using the VRRAP program in June 2022 and was told everything was good to go to start classes in July 2022. I had almost completed my first semester and was notified that the VRRAP program would not accept my major. DeVry placed me in a spot because I was forced to pay over $6000.00 in Financial Aid because Mr. Timothy Huff didn’t submit my program to the VA department at DeVry for approval. The VA department at DeVry took 24 hours to come up with a denied response when the package was submitted, supposedly the second, which could have saved three months of my time, and over $6000 in financial aid charges if the package had been submitted before I enrolled for classes. Yes, they are very expensive and not worth the aggravation.Hector Carrion

They promised to pay for the first certification exam and after they tell you what to do they find the way to say they didn’t receive the information within the dead line and can’t pay for your exam. They would rather look at old scores from when a potential future student was in high school (years ago) instead of getting to know why that potential student is starting college late and what their educational goals are. Some people start college late for various reasons but to say no because of how their ACT scores were in high school years ago and they are an adult now? Their tours are more involved, informative, and helpful than any other school I've visited even around the country. Walked the Goldenrod trail and the Blueberry trail. Both are very pretty. We were there early in the day during the week and only saw two other people the all time we were there. The trails are well maintained. The loop around the lake allows for a variety of views. The trails have a large number of wooden boardwalks allowing easy transit over the bogs. I was referred to Brooks Bartram by someone and this was the BEST Decision I have ever made in reference to my Health Care needs. Day 1 I was met with what I call “a Cheering Team” that met me at the door of the transportation vehicle. That first impression couldn’t even describe the care that I feel while I’m here. My daughter and I truly feel like Family in here. The OT/PT Therapist cares so much about my recovery. They listen to my concerns, they Push me for Greatness, they stop by just to check on me in between sessions, they remember my name, they know my likes and dislikes, etc. Every level of customer service cares for you Including the kitchen staff, the cleaning staff and all the office personnel. Just like anyone else, I Do Not like staying in a hospital like environment but my current stay has helped me Mentally to adjust and get thru my purpose here. I even had a visit at the hospital, before being admitted here, from one of the Doctors representing Brooks along with the Director of Nursing, Adam. This entire experience has been amazing and my health has been their Number 1 Priority from the moment I was rolled in here. My husband just completed a 10 day stay here and it is by far the best experience we have had at any hospital or rehab facility – and we have a lot of experience when it comes to hospitals. The facility itself is state of the art, clean and comfortable for patients and visitors. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE we came in contact with was always so polite and helpful. We've had extensive hospital stays in several states and the nurses here are the best we have ever experienced. They are not only competent but it's their compassion and kindness that put them above and beyond others we have had at other facilities. The same goes for all the therapists (speech, occupation and physical – all excellent!). I hate to single anyone out because I don't want to take away from the fact that everyone was so wonderful, but I have to specifically mention PTs Sierra and Emily and Nurses Stacy and Takeisha for their work with him but also with me – communicating with me about his medical issues and showing me things to do with him to help him once we get home. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! He will likely need more rehab in the future and we will definitely return here if/when we do. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Brooks Rehab Hospital-Bartram to anyone who needs inpatient rehab.Cathy

Once I was checked in on the 2nd floor, I was immediately taken back to an exam room, vitals & history were taken & within 5 mins Dr Blunck walked in He greeted me with a friendly attitude & hand shake. He was patient, understanding, took his time & didnt rush me. I highly recommend Dr Hans Blunck to anybody who needs to have their gallbladder removed. I just left UF had 2 appointments today. 1st cardiology had heart echo done, 2nd appointment was with Dr. Rodriguez in dermatology. Scheduling some surgery. These doctors are amazingly awesome and beyond they really care about there patients. Just can not say enough on how great they all are. I really appreciate them from the bottom of my ❤️. We went to receive our first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. It was by appointment only and very well organized with clear directions and many people standing by to provide directions and assistance where needed. Everything went smoothly and we were in and out quickly. So far, so good.Ira Eick

Got told I needed to pay the day before I had my schedule test done. Due to them having issues with people showing up and not wanting to pay. Don't make the problem they have other people's problem. This is an excellent source for someone who wants to obtain certification as an entry level phlebotomist or if you need a refresher course as someone who already works in the medical field. Just as with any education facility, you arrive open minded and if possible (and if it helps you) prepared to take lots of notes. If you have no medical background, then it could be challenging. However, I found that the instructor offers you plenty of advice and the opportunity to train until I felt as confident as I possibly could as a first time phlebotomist. I learned a lot and if I found a few things that appeared as a challenge to me , I even contacted the instructor after hours for a prep talk or an invitation to come back for another hour during the next class to try to get a better understanding of what it was I had an issue with. I have referred many people to this course and will continue to do so. You should look at it as an intro into a career in phlebotomy as you will be trained according to how the facility that hires you wants you to work. . I'm thankful for the opportunity to attend this training, obtain my certification and finding steady work in my field for what has now been 2 years. Renae Bennettaction and words

I wouldn't even give this place one star, they are a FRAUD!! unless you have $450 to waste I highly recommend finding an accredited phlebotomy class. 1. I never received my hard copy of my certification, I've called about 50 times they keep giving me excuses as to why I haven't received it ( Its coming up on a year now) still haven't gotten it even offered to pick it up from Jacksonville they declined and said they'll send it in the mail. 2. This is not an accredited program it is not through the National Healthcare Association even though Ms.Carter the instructor said it was they never heard of them 3. The class was held in a hotel room with the instructor is giving you the answers to the exam for the certification and she wore flip flops with her thongs were hanging out of pants very unprofessional. i attended training here immediately upon turning 18 and a few months prior to graduating high school.It has turned out to be a life saver for me. I am working as a phlebotomist while I'm attending college. This was my first job and the hospital that I work for trained me on how they expect to perform. Receiving the training in two days that is normally offered in no less than 3 months and the curriculum is an indication that things are going to go pretty swift, I really like the trainer. She was professional and encouraging.. If you are up to training for a new career or a change , fast; Then this is for you.. Ask any and all questions that you may have prior to registration so that you will know what to look forward to.Anthony King
