I've been attending FCC since summer of 2016 and will graduate, god willing, this spring 2019. Full time, year round, no breaks. Although parking requires at least an hour grace period, I believe the over all experience is what you make it. I've come across rude people maybe having a bad day and I've had instructors I could not relate to. Its all very frustrating. Its sad to say the success rate at this college is 17%. But, then again this is an adult school. Nobodies going to call your house when your absent or hold a parent-teacher conference when your not doing your work. I am working on a Human Service degree and have enjoyed the ups and downs of my classes. The load was a little heavier in a few and I had to buckle down and utilize the tutorial, ETC, PASS, Computer lab and all other resources available. In all the those places I found the staff and student help extremely eager to be of service. The assistance was much appreciated. Honestly, I don't think I could of got through math without it!Philip Tristan

I am not speaking for this business itself, merely the college district's education quality. I have taken classes at Fresno, Clovis, and Reedley Community College, and I have had an absolutely deplorable time. I don't feel like I'm getting anything from the classes; I don't feel the staff is prepared to teach online, if at all. If you are going to teach college-level English, you should not make punctuation and grammatical errors consistently. If you are teaching a law class, you should not do it from inherent bias and perspective. If you are conducting an online course, you should not have to hold up a piece of paper because you don't know how to make a slide. An absolute and utter waste of my time and money, I am so glad I got the nerve to go back to school; now I will find somewhere to teach me, educate me, and get me further in life.Mercedes Scott

Good college for students to get their AA degrees and this college has cheap tuition. Professors and management are also good and you can also transfer to a university after 2 years. It is said that Fresno City College is the first Community College in California. Registration to classes is simple and online, and they offer all kind of classes. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I am thankful for you all. Anyone who wants to go to college for Business or just in general, go to SJVC. They got you covered and they support your every step and decision. The administration is not interested in offering equal access to education for parents who are looking to get one. The college is not interested in reestablishing the on-campus child care center. Also the administration knew the science building chemistry hoods were not functioning properly for years and never let students know. The professors are incredible but if you are a mother good luck because the college doesn't care that in order to access education, women with children (those who require an education for a chance to improve their children's future!) need some equitable student services. Don't take my word for it scroll through the reviews. Most reviewers are male even though majority of students who attend the college are women. Read into it what you will but the facts remain that the college has a child care center on campus but refuse to renovate it even though property taxpayers agreed to pay for it (measure g 2004).Melissa Martinez

The college incorrectly listed me as a non-California resident. When I attempted to fix this, I found that I could not get in touch with ANYONE from the business offices. Eventually, they started having a debt collector call me because I wanted to sort out the residency issue so that I would not be charged nearly $1000 for my classes. This has been going on for months now, I attempt to call their offices almost every week and no one answers me. I'm beginning to suspect that they are just trying to force me to pay the non-resident fee so that they can get some extra cash. All in all, I have had a horrible experience with the administrative services, and if I could get on the line with anyone, I would have been happy to have paid the appropriate tuition months ago.Laura Israel

Overall, the colleges is good. However, other colleges are doing much better. $ stars for the efforts in trying to become better. Recently they have started to work on the new Gymnasium building. Teachers and professors are good but they are very diverse. The teaching style of all the teachers differ and they might not be ok with everyone. So choose your class wisely. Overall the crowd is good but sometimes you might find some not so friendly people. I am not sure about the safety. I think financial aid is run by Dr.Seuss. It’s a literal circus. They barely answer the phone and Stacy is brutal. I think she wrestled in the WWE. I simply and politely asked about my financial aid app and she punch me in throat so hard I started singing Ave Maria. I didn’t even know I knew the song. Oh and Brenda in records punched me in my chest so hard my shoulders clapped. She was pretty adamant about me not transferring. Do not step on campus without your PPO being updated.Donovan Bradshawe

This is a great university with students from all around the world, very beautiful buildings, gardens and sport facilities. It was a fantastic experience to study there for an year and enjoy such a nice atmosphere. Just be aware that you need a car to travel in weekends, for Riverside itself does not have many attractions, though it's a cozy city.Michael Rachid

Beautiful campus. So green. I love the Eucalyptus trees. It’s quiet in certain areas and social in others when students are around. A little something for everyone. Nice pathways for both walking and cycling. There are benches all around the campus to provide ample sitting areas to either just rest or to study with solar powered charging stations.Sajleen

If you are a Veteran and want to attend this school I recommend you don't. I personally have had multiple issues with communication with the school as well as obtaining an appointment with their one VA counselor. My appointment was made a month and a half out mainly because that specific date was the only day that would work for me. I was suppose to walk in at 4 pm to see the counselor. Mind you I called earlier that day to confirm my appointment, even received an email notification confirming my appointment. They told me they accidentally double booked, but to come in anyways and they will just squeeze me in. Came in at 350 PM checked in the front desk looked confused, I explained the situation and I didn't get seen until 5:45 PM I had a final for speech class at 6 PM. If you decide to take online classes be careful you could end up like me log in and check the course the first day of the semester in this case July 19th 2017 at 8:55 AM and see that there are no notifications or assignments post yet. Log in that Friday still having issues to find out you got dropped that Wednesday for not being active in the course. I logged in that Monday to do the Class work knowing that my other class kept me busy tues, wed, thurs. All just to find out that your email was jacked because of the conversion they did in spring, therefore getting locked from your account. I do not recommend this school or the school district it has only been a constant uphill battle for me and to many stressful occurrences. Attend a Cal State or Cal University.Cody

I have been trying to see a counselor, and so far I have come to the counseling department more than five times. Anytime I went there, they said that there are a lot of students so go come back tomorrow at 8:00 am. When I went there at 8:00 am the next day, they said oh we don't do walk ins, you can go today, but for tomorrow give us a call to confirm if there is any counselor available. I did call them the day before coming they said yes come around 8:00 am you will for sure see a counselor, I got there at 8:00 am, but unfortunately again they said that there are a lot of students and they only have one counselor. I don't know what game do they play with students, I missed going to work for 3 days, and it seems that I might not be able to take any classes this summer just because of not being able to see a counselor. I request the authorities of this nice college to pay attention to this problem, and find some possible ways of solution since the students need to have updated Educationan Plans.Tawfiq Sediqi

This college is a freaking mess and very unorganized!!!! Fist visit, they told me counseling was open until 4:30pm. Got there at 3:34pm and said they stop at 3pm. They told me to come back tomorrow and they will do counseling till 4pm. I got early from work the nex day, and when I get to the counseling office, they said they are not doing counseling today! They tell me to come back tomorrow. They couldn't take appointments because they were too busy that week. I come back the next day, my job let me get off early again, when I get to the counseling they tell me their system is down! They tell me to come back on Saturday for the event. They tell me counseling and student services will be open. I'm here at the counseling at 10am, they freaking tell me no counselors today, they are only taking picture for IDS !!!! The first time I come to Taft College for a first time college tour with my mom and dad. I really love it because everything is over me then far away. It was really great meeting Ms Victoria Wang for the first time when I come for my first ever tour with Taft College. I did my first ever a College interview with 4 Committee people they we talking to me. I am very nervous of about my second interview for Taft College how will it go like last time interview. I praying and crossing my finger they I will Accepted to Taft College on August 2020 or August 2021 but it really most likely will be August 2021 because of the Novel Covid 19. Hopefully that’s an impact new students coming in so students can be able to move in without no problems and have to be send back home. I am really sad they I wasn’t able to go to Taft College just for my first time interview with the Committee from Taft College but it was completely closed Only for administrators to be able to get Pay hours. *When I left Taft College on the way home I was really ready to move in but I was too early because I have to do the full application and send in the mail to Taft College to go over it and let me know if I am accepted to have my 1st interview with the Committee from Taft College I broken down in tears because I was super hard talking of about it without crying more and more. *I was really helpful to do a trial run on Zoom for Ms Jessica White Replace Ms Victoria Wang because she is no longer working I have a retired from Taft College but I didn’t meet her in person just on Zoom I want like to meet her face to face one day after I’m accepted as a college student at Taft College 🙂SweetSydney25

I've enjoyed my experiences with Taft College. The Advisor Ms. Casablanca is such a sweet helpful individual,I don't feel rushed when we met, and said i could reach out to her via email anytime I had questions-how awesome is that? I can call the counseling office and get quick questions answered right away, and I feel like me and the college share the same goals for myself and graduation. They send email notifications for upcoming dates and offers explanations for decisions made (for example, the priority registration email explained how it is calculated and how the groups are divided up). I've only taken online classes, but all the teachers Ive had so far have been very open to questions and seem to have good attitudes. The also offer career study groups and business admin meeting groups, and they continue to grow in possibilities. With BC I always felt like I was just another body getting pushed through all the processes, with my paper always getting lost, and constantly being required to see the counselor for the smallest questions. With Taft I've felt more like a priority, and I feel more organized and confident in the classes I take towards my degree.Alejandra Durand

The court reporting program is horrible. It is not even held at Taft or regulated by Taft. NONE of the staff are licensed court reporters or have ever held a license. They are not knowledgeable in the field. They are highly unorganized and unprofessional. The program director and local court reporters claim this is one of the best programs in the nation. That is completely false and can be verified through the California Court Reporter’s Association website. This school has the lowest retention and pass rate in California.K. Faraday

CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school… Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.Jake Roque

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience,then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. If you're a thinking person, you'll start hating this school not long after you get there. NOT WORTH ITMichael D. Bear

I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. I'd like to think that because of Covid, there is a lack of help from this college. I have been trying my very best for the last month to do everything myself without the help from any employees at this college. I have not been contacted regarding how to get enrolled, registered, what classes I need, financial aid, etc. I have been struggling since I have submitted my application to this college. You basically have to figure out everything on your own which isn't hard for me to do because I was walked through the steps from my previous college who actually took the time to help me out. While I understand quite a few things, there are some things that I don't understand and that I have questions about but getting into contact with anyone at this college is very difficult. Even through emails, no one responds. This college lacks the skill for helping their future students. I believe that I have done everything necessary in order to be a student but getting in touch with a counselor is the biggest problem. Making an appointment with a counselor via zoom, is quite a struggle and I have messaged quite a few employees at the college but yet, I still haven't received any responses. I am about to give up and just try somewhere else although this college is very convient for me, it's not worth the struggle and hassle at this point. 😔Mary McDonald

Great atmosphere. Their financial aid office needs help though. I started my fasfa around May and I'm trying to get in for the fall. I sat down with the students that help you with the fasfa form online so I don't do it wrong. I had to wait for them to approve it. They told me to bring my parents IRS info, even though I used the retrieval tool. I had to do a dependent verification form. Turned in copies of those. Then asked for my W-2. Then they asked for another verification form. Just constantly asking me for things I turned in. It sometimes takes them weeks to let you know what's next. So I learned the hard way the previous year that they ask for these forms every semester. They didn't tell me until I was applying for another semester. First year student trying to figure them out. I lived in El Cajon when they were asking for forms making this process extra annoying. Apparently they had to restart the process for the new semester. Don't ask me why but this is the most annoying part of school. I advise making multiple copies of whatever they ask for IRS FORMS, W-2, AND TAX INFO. They'll ask for it next semester and start it months before to avoid lines. I'm grateful there is a financial office though or school would be ROUGH! Thank you. EDIT: THEY MOVED TO A 270PERSONAL

City College is represented by the San Diego transit people, MTS, as City College Trolley Station, a cave, possibly Plato's, remarkable for grime and an expansive range of social behaviors not common in the quiet halls of ivy and higher education. The City College Trolley Station, is, of course, the gateway of San Diego's always expanding skidrow that could be seen as starting here and continuing to 25th and Commercial. San Diego and the real estate community promotes skidrow as being the East Village, but it's not really so much a village as it is a refugee camp. And it is getting bigger every day and will one day engulf all of downtown and possibly as far into the neighborhoods as Hillcrest and North Park. Finally getting to go to college Cypress college is a perfect fit for one I know the area quite well and the ladies in the financial aid department were so helpful they were more than eager to find out any and all blocks that were happening that was preventing my semester to start and corrected it right away Cypress college has so many classes so many organizations that actually help people within the community whether it be for shelter food medical schooling clothing counseling and if they do not have what you're looking for they will get the information to get you to the proper place I witnesses good people at that college I'm proud to go thereJackie Ray Bass

I applied 7/23 and never received an email containing my student I’d. And yes I checked my junk mail. I emailed admissions per my acceptance email after not receiving my student id after 5 business days. Received an automated email saying someone would respond within 48 hours. NOTHING. Tried their “virtual drop in counseling’ and the page is not accessible. Called the college on a Thursday and get a beeping tone. Totally unprofessional. I’m guess the college is closed? Or they don’t have the tools to properly run a college? This is my WORST experience enrolling in a college ever!!!Brooke Bennett

I love Cypress College, I've almost finished my GE and I've only had one teacher that wasnt so great. The campus is safe and beautiful. The counselors are very nice and helpful. They have a financial aid office that is also very nice and helpful. I plan on transferring from Cypress College and go to Biola. So far, my experience has been great. Today, there was free lunch that was given out! I feel that Cypress College does it's best to serve their student thoroughly.Joy Hong

I transferred here because it offered a program I wanted to take. The first time, the class was canceled due to there being not enough sign ups. Fine. That was Spring and now we’re in the Fall semester. Once again, the class was canceled. It was canceled 1 week before the 2nd session was to start. I now only have 2 classes (a 3rd one was dropped because it overlapped the class that was eventually canceled). My teacher is cool so, no complaints. My online class…. it takes my teacher 2-3 weeks just to grade your work. I’ve done online classes at other schools and was graded within the week. I’m going back to my previous school. I chose this college because it was ranked as one of the top ten community colleges in California for online courses. Diversity is great, many certificates and degrees offered, and the counselors I’ve spoke with over the phone were polite and helpful. They wait until more than a month into the semester to process student loans – and the form should specify that it’s for the year. I filled it out thinking it was only for the semester. No return emails from financial aid in the matter. Overall I would recommend WLAC, but their admissions and financial aid offices need to work on responding to students.Jason G

The school was okay. The admission office is terrible. I enjoyed the professors they have great ones. Working here was bad there’s nepotism and favoritism allowed. The staff isn’t the nicest I think student should be respected a bit more and heard. As an employee here I know I tried to help as many students sincerely. The process needs to be more efficient. Graduated here in 2018. Yes the school is not perfect. but it is affordable and offers all sorts of academic programs for students & for those who are interested in learning a new skill. A few issues with the homeless people who easily make their way in the school's restroom and leave all their mess inside. A bit more security is also needed because of the area surrounding the school, but overall it's a good community college. Looking back now, I miss every moment I got to spend here. Adventist Health Center is conducting a Vaccine center at The Glendale Community College in the parking structure at the top of the hill right off of the 2 Fwy Off the Mountain exit. The staff are very helpful. There is very clear and strict mandates on masks and health protocols. Please follow signage and bring your masks. You will need your ID for check in. The nurses are very helpful and many of them have worked in the ER with patients and have seen the effects of the pandemic. So most of them are very happy to administer the vaccine and help prevent the spread of this terrible disease. We are all so happy to share the change in the world and grow together. There is Hope and these are the people that are here to spread that hope. 3👍🏼’s out of 3👍🏼’s the staff and Nurses are very helpful and thoughtful.SEAN GONZALES

Theres an old Armenian blonde lady in Financial Aid office with glasses, shes honestly and honestly the rudest person ive ever seen in my entire life. I dont know what was going on in her life that moment but she did not help me whatsoever to give her drop off my fafsa documents about academic appeal that I received from the outstanding counselor here in GCC. The fafsa that lady referred me to find a random person to help me upload the documents into the website which she didnt even told me what website to upload to. Two years ago I had the good insight of enrolling in Concorde's PTA program. The program is run by knowledgeable Physical Therapists invested in quality education (Mary, Sam, Laura, Kelly, Dennis). They provided me with the necessary tools to start a new career and enter the work force feeling competent with my skills. The school has a department dedicated to assist graduates find a job, Alvy has personally helped me with this, he even rendered a mock interview so that I would show up to a possible employer as a strong and coherent candidate. Because the program is so well organized (from prerequisites to clinical rotations and even when/how to signing up for your board test!) it is easier to have a balance school/personal life. And when you approach the school, Karl, the security officer at the entrance, is the most welcoming and kind person that will ever open a door for you.Yawi Griffini

My experience at Concorde has truly been astounding. I joined the Medical Assistant program and my teacher Ms Tameka was nothing short of a great instructor. She was very patient, compassionate and dedicated to ensuring that every student learned even if it meant staying late or adapting the way she presented materials.The Financial staff Eva and Peetee were very efficient in handling my paperwork so that I could dedicate my focus to studying and be successful. Upon completion my graduate employment specialist Rocky was a true rockstar. I had no faith in using their services but this guy was very helpful in making sure my resume was top notch and that I was interview ready and confident enough to land jobs and ask for the money I deserved. I attended Concorde Career College for the Medical Assistant Program and after completing, I am now a graduate!. After completing my externship, Rocky Ramirez who is our graduate employment specialist assisted me with my resume and employment opportunities. Not only was Rocky very helpful but he goes above and beyond on ensuring that his students are fully prepared for the next step. The SJVC-online BSRT program is very user friendly when it comes to ones computer skills. There are some minor glitches here and there when it comes to assignment communication. I am very happy with my decision in choosing SJVC to obtain my Bachelor’s degree. I enrolled in the MBC certificate program in April of 2021 after loosing my job. I have my degree in medical billing but was doing retail. I was worried about doing straight online school, however the instructors and the adviser Ernie were and are amazing at what they do! The staff of this school is pretty good with communication, especially the Dean. Whenever i had a problem he was fast to solve the issue. The experience was great. I did have to find my own extern site, but my career advisor was really supportive and helpful. I wanted to attend the Nursing program but no one has responded so I will probably not do it here. yesterday 7/27/2020 I officially graduated from Concorde college (MA PROGRAM) and all I can say is if you’re looking for a school to help you learn about the medical field Concorde is it. They have great teachers willing to help you as much as possible. They have a great computer lab, always open to help! The school is very well kept and cleaned! Staff also does little events here and there just to show appreciation to the students which I loved. The staff here are AMAZING! 2 staff I would really like to shout out are ARIANA HERTZ & MONICA CARLOS! Both of these woman helped me so much and went out their way to make sure i was doing great at Concorde. Security GEORGE was also such a great staff, he always would help as much as he can. But overall all staff is great, super helpful and super friendly. I felt so welcomed at Concorde as soon as I got there! So glad I came to this school because not only did I get an education but I made some wonderful friends here too. I LOVE CONCORDE💙! This review is overdue. But I wanted to wait until I had been working in my field a couple of years to review. I graduated in 2019 with my LVN, and I was able to obtain my license in January 2020. I was well prepared. Passed my nclex on the first try. But I studied and I followed the direction the instructors and staff recommended to get there. Sometimes it felt like they were dragging us through the ringer, when it came to assignments, tests, clinical etc. But it was well worth it. I started my job confident in all of the basic LVN skills. Vital signs, GT, wound care, interpersonal relationships etc. This school taught me so much about myself. If you are considering a career change; or a jump start to your career. I highly recommend. But don’t go here thinking it will be easy. You WILL have to put in the work. Also another tip, communication is key. If you don’t let the school know what’s going on, they won’t be able to help you.Chynna Hooper

Garden Grove Concorde is what you expect out of a school. I love this campus. I enrolled here in 2006 for the Respiratory Therapist program and graduated in 2008. During the program, they provided all the resources i needed to get through all my courses such as tutoring, 1 on 1 help, and most importantly the most friendliest, attentive staff from the front the front desk all the way to the top. i would like to mention someone who has help through my toughest times, Lynda Carlos. When i was having trouble with my application process she would go out of her way to help me. She was like this with every student and every one of my class mates love her. Adult braces! It’s as cringe worthy as it sounds. But, that’s exactly what I had to get …braces as an adult. I had a horrible bite and aligners alone wouldn’t solve my issue. So in my search for a nice bite and a decent smile, I came across Dr. Gray’s office. I can’t express how wonderful my experience has been. ( Okay, having a mouth full of metal is not wonderful but hear me out.) From day one they were very honest. First, they made it clear that I would not get the results I wanted without braces. So I went ahead and put my smile in their hands (Literally) …However, after a year, I was able to transition to aligners. (Thank goodness!) I am so thankful for this. Their flexibility in accommodating my needs as an adult went above and beyond. Throughout this process I have had several worries regarding my teeth and Dr Gray has never dismisses my concerns . Dr. K and the team at Smile LA are the best. I came to them a year ago after I chipped a tooth on some popcorn. Due to the pandemic and not having dental insurance for a year proceeding that, my teeth were definitely in need of some TLC. Thankfully the team of Smile LA took great care of me. Dr. K put together a treatment plan including a deep clean, root canal, crown, a small gum surgery, and a couple fillings. I’m always nervous getting anything medical done and everyone at Smile LA was very kind and patient with me. From the dental hygienists to the people working at the front desk everyone is lovely. Dr. K. is the best dentist on the planet. No joke. Picture this – he talked me into scheduling pulling my wisdom tooth the day before I had an important coffee meeting and business dinner planned. I thought he was crazy. He told me with complete confidence that it will be no problem. 4PM Monday my wisdom tooth was gone. 9AM Tuesday I was laughing over coffee and 6PM that same evening I was enjoying my favorite restaurant with cocktails and wine. This was just the latest of his amazing work he's done for my wife and I since we were so lucky to discover him 2 years ago. Best experience I've ever had at a dental office. Dr. K and his whole team are amazing. So friendly and really help you to feel comfortable and at ease during your visit. The Dr. is always on time and I am in and out in an hour or less. I had to have a lot of super old fillings replaced which I was dreading (I've had some less than pleasant experiences at previous practices) but Dr. K is just so fast and efficient that by my 3rd visit my anxiety levels were non existent. I have had a great experience at this office. Everyone is very nice and helpful. I had a filling come out from a previous dentist that was done horribly and I was able to get in the next day and had the filling redone and it is perfect. I've been seeing Dr. Elloway for 20 years now. He has an incredibly kind bedside manner and never suggests work beyond what is necessary for your best dental health. He gives you all the information you need to make your own decision. Every time I've needed a procedure it's been comfortable and painless. He has a special numbing machine you can't even feel! He's actually done a few fillings on me he didn't even need to numb for. Most recently we did Invisalign and my results have been fantastic. Dr. Elloway is a gentle, sweet, and honest man I would recommend to anyone (especially those nervous about the dentist!) His staff is awesome and the cleanings here are excellent as well.Anne York

I am a working registered dental hygienist who graduated from Carrington College back when they were at their previous location relatively close by on San Ignacio. I can't speak for the program now since alot has probably changed in terms of administration, but our program director Sherry Heaney, department of hygiene staff, and supervising doctors were all great and provided us with excellent, rigorous education. We had a very thorough clinical and classroom education there at Carrington which allowed my graduating class to pretty much all go through the program and pass our National and regional boards for hygiene. The cost for the programs I will admit is a bit pricey as it is a private tech school, but they do have loan options. I just recently paid off my student loans after working part time for 3-4 years as a dental hygienist. Also keep in mind that the program was only about 1.5 years full-time vs the 2 years you would expect to go through from one of the renown lottery local community college programs at foothill, Diablo, etc. By all means if you are lucky enough to get into those programs go there as you will save a ton of money, but education-wise my education was on par with those schools. After we graduated I received many phone calls checking up on me to ask if I had been employed yet, so they do seem to check up on how we were doing after going through the program. If you are coming into this clinic as a patient, understand that this isn't a dental practice. Carrington makes nothing from having you come in for their essentially free treatment. They don't "prey" on people without dental insurance because Carrington receives no benefit from you coming into the department for treatment, and rather it is more of a service to you and the local community. That being said, you will be treated by STUDENTS and their only gain from you will be clinical experience. Treatment planning and the amount of time you spend in the clinic will also be ALOT longer than it would be if you were to go to a dental office. I'm talking about a few days of you coming in for appointments vs an hour at a dental office. To Nichole's review, since I can't directly respond to your review: I am unaware of how your periodontal health was before treatment but most likely you had gum disease. If you are having gum recession after treatment that you didn't expect, then I am afraid maybe you didn't have enough patient education. That is something that just happens if you have gum disease and receive treatment for it. Your gums recede because they are swollen initially and you already have bone loss around your teeth. Once they firm up they will naturally recede to match your bone levels. As a practitioner it triggers me when the patient blames the doctor or staff for the patient's own negligence even though as practitioners we have the heart to basically do charity work for them. It is sad that you feel entitled to free treatment and then blame your healthcare provider. Just my two cents here.Unsullied Roarrior

Hi my name is Jessylynn I am from Philippines, migrated here USA 2009, I know in myself that my passion in Dentistry will stop but by year 2016 I met former student of Carrington College, she’s working a Dental Hygienists now. Thanks to her because she encourage me to go to go back to school and try to inquire. The staffs in Carrington College are friendly even the janitor and security guard and front desk. I remember the first day doing my inquiring in this school, I met Troy he was my enrollment advisor! He’s so nice, funny and cool! I like him! I like how he help me and my friend to get this in the program. He extends his arm to help you for what you need to get in the program and take note I don’t have money, nor credit score or anything financial. It’s true that the private school is so PRICEY! I can’t blame or complain about it because it’s private school and you’ll graduate in 1.5 years not including pre req. Troy explained everything about it, how you’ll pay and how much you’ll pay. Honestly, I didn’t know what I’m doing but with the help of Carrington College staff I would say I owe them from what I became now because they helping me to make my dream come true even you don’t have money for now, it’s like get your degree and pay later! I am now in Term 2 in Dental Hygienist Program! Carrington College of Dental Hygiene Program Department’s environment is peaceful. The faculty are very friendly. This the place where you can learn many things. I honestly can say, their way of teaching is not intimidating, they work harder just to make sure their student doing a good job especially in the clinic, your practice skills (oh, a lot of COMPETENCY, which is to test your skills, if you failed then they’ll teach you until you get it) and lecture. I love how they focus on your hand skills, your ergonomic (protecting your back, I don’t even know that!) BASIC is life! They teach you not only to learn how to treat patient but they care also for you to love the job so you’ll not injure your overall health! Mrs. Clark is the one who welcomed us in this Program, she’s so gentle when she talk and I love her teaching in Radiology subject and not only her you’ll love. All the DH department staff are friendly and funny that what’s make me go to school everyday and excited to LEARN. They’re all knowledgeable, professional, and they will not stop failing you until you get the PERFECT skills, they’re not judgmental they’re always asking “DO YOU HAVE QUESTION?”. One of our Instructor said “MISTAKE IS A OPPORTUNITY”. I realized being perfection is not what make you GREAT! I don’t wanna brag everything but their teaching reached my beyond expectation. This particular location has some very wicked women working in positions they’re obviously not qualified to work in. If you’re a woman of African descent, they work so hard to keep you down and out of the programs, if the salary will start at a healthy rate. Yet they’re pretty rude and condescending to EVERYONE! They try to intimidate the students for having questions. They’re very unsupportive and unprofessional. They will gang up on you, knit pick with you, hold unnecessary bully like meetings with you, etc. these women can’t handle the responsibility that their position Carrie’s . They’re old as Medusa and have the audacity to mock an older student. It’s a shame that after all that women have been through overtime , these women believe that it’s their job to try and hold another woman back. I had a heart issue due to a medication I had taken while I was a student there. I was admitted into the hospital, and still managed to attend my class the following day from my hospital bed. These women verbally attacked me in private the first day I returned to campus. I was still weak from being ill, which caused me not to be able to properly defend myself. Fortunately, I was able to record the second attack—all because I inquired about what the protocols would be in the event that students became ill with covid. They wanted to meet with me again privately, the meeting took approximately 1 hour, yet my question was never answered. Instead they brought up all kinds of other silly things, while gazing at me like I was an experiment. There’s a lot more I have to say about this campus and it’s Surgical Technology Director, Lab instructor, and the Director of Student Services. They behaved like pure monkey’s.Tara Newton-Bailey
