20 Best Acting Programs In Baton Rouge, LA (2022 Updated)

In trying to tell my students how to get to Music building, I discovered you have no numerical address to be able to give my students. Several ways were used on the web to get this info for these families and none were found. Please improve your online information. It is not user friendly. These students play at the music building in the morning and cannot put an address in their GPS. Surely, you can improve your home page. You have phone numbers but no real address except to say the newer Music building. For most people that is insufficient information. These families have never been to the New Music building. The gallery over all was very well laid out and had some great collections. The more modern pieces were good, but I was hoping for a few more. This place is aging well, they have lots of nice artwork as well as a good gift shop in plenty of places to eat nearby, and you could walk to downtown from there and see the sights. The price of food and drinks are a bit insane. My advise – eat and drink before you go. The $10 microwave pizza was trash. Literally threw the second one away. I don't know who is coming up with the menu but come on, this is Bagon Rouge, step up the food game! Also, they tend to stop alcohol service well before concerts end, so just be aware. You may or may not pass through a metal detector so no pocket knives guys. They also may not let you in with a purse unless it's clear. They turned one woman away, but I watched a lady with a VIP badge get her purse searched briefly before they let her in. I told the woman we walked in with to make a scene if they didn't give her the same treatment. Not sure what she ended up doing but read the fine print on your tickets.Michael L

Visited this place on November 7 on my Husband's Birthday for Gabriel Iglesias ( Fluffy) comedy show. It was great only reason I give it a 3 star is because they had it like a sauna in there. Super hot!!! Plus seats are NOT made for fluffy people. They definitely need to renovate and give people a little bit more space. And add cup holders as well. My Biggest concern was the seat were too small. We were all looking like sardines in there. I come here every year for pride fest. It is an absolutely massive arena, and a perfect space to enjoy a convention or large performance. My largest complaint is that the concessions are absolutely ridiculous and not worth it. I'm talking literally $6 for a bottle of soda. DINO QUEST 2022 Super cool, make sure you buy the all access pass or your child will not be allowed to participate in any activity as far as games and bounce houses and rides. Premium pass is only a few more dollars when bought in advance. You have to buy tickets in advance, they say available at door but really sale out months in advance. Concessions are absurdly expensive and you get very little food Just for water bottle is $5 with no water fountains around to have free water etc. Once your there and if your child doesn't have the premium pass, they can only walk around and view the attractions which are amazing! But still when having the premium pass it allows for multiple more hours of play. It's worth it 100% for premium pass and make sure to order a month in advance. They do full pocket and bag searches upon entry with a metal detector and a wand detector so feels pretty safe once inside the building. They have workers and security around the building. Its very very nice. I highly advise going and bringing the kids, the dinosaurs look absolutely amazing and each year they have the same dinos plus more and they seem to upgrade there skins yearly as well. They have real fossils to check out including a full t rex skull and megalodon jaw with teeth. Plus several other small dinosaurs and egg fossils. Very cool just super expensive, comes once a year so worth it. I do advise going but make sure to buy premium pass for kids and to eat a good meal and drink befor you go if you are on a budget or don't wanna spend $20 on water and a nacho.Golden_Reviews

My close friends and classmates got together after 45 Years to go to Charlie Wilson's Concert! So glad we did! Uncle Charlie showed out like he always do!! Packed house. I do feel like the Raising Cane Center needs a real update. The seats are too close. I considered I had good seats until I sat in my wobbly chair with my 225 lb self next to two people with their 230 and 240 lbs selves. I also have knee problems so the bend having to sit so low and tight caused me to have to stand quite a bit and at one time walk to relieve the pain and pressure it had on my knees. Easy to navigate parking, and the smaller relative size of the venue makes every seat in the house feel like a good deal. This is exceptionally true of the floor seats row 1-5, which, depending on the section, might as well have you performing with the band. All things considered, unless you're 21 and addicted to huge crowds, I would choose this venue over the New Orleans Superdome.Will Zanders

Aaron is one of the most genuine, kind-hearted, creative, and hilarious people that I know. He truly makes being photographed such a joy. The first time that Aaron photographed me was back in 2012 at an old sugar mill for my high school senior pics. He has captured so many moments in my life since then from being a debutante, graduation, family photos, Mardi Gras balls, Christmas cards, engagement photos, my brother's wedding, rehearsal dinner, my wedding, etc. He can make something beautiful out of nothing and ensures you have a great experience from start to finish. For my engagement shoot with my husband, we met downtown after work and instead of going straight into taking photos, he brought us by the oyster bar to have a drink first which set the tone for such an enjoyable shoot. Every photo shoot with him holds a special place in my heart. He caught every aspect of our rehearsal dinner and wedding day in the most perfect way. Those memories captured in pictures will be extremely hard to beat. His team is also so much fun to work with! Aaron's wife, Jency, is such a joy to be around and often accompanies him as his assistant. Sarah, his editor, is also a wonderful part of the team with her down-to-earth attitude and willingness to work with you until the photo/product looks just as you want it. FANTASTIC photography class! I bought my camera about a year before taking the Beginning Photography class and was a complete novice. I watched several YouTube videos about the basics of photography (lenses, exposure, etc), but it never really clicked. After the first class alone I was immediately comfortable using manual mode on my camera and I was so proud of the photos I took. And the "field trip" was a great experience for real-world insight. Aaron is extremely knowledgeable and a wonderful teacher! The slide presentation is extremely insightful and he takes time to make sure everyone in the class understands the material. This was the first year to have on campus photo shoots of our Senior 2023 class for the yearbook. Eye Wander Photo set up a time schedule for all of our seniors and provided the tuxedo and drape attire. They made the atmosphere fun for the students as they came together again after a summer break. The task of making sure the seniors took their picture for the annual Yearbook was achieved in one visit. The photo results were great. I came to Phyllis with desire to learn how to sing without any previous experience. This was something that I always wanted to do, always knew in the back of my mind that someday I will take classes. I only went there one semester beginning 11th grade and the curriculum was already harder than most of my college classes. They don't like transfers coming in late like me because transfers typically get left in the dust because the kids there are way ahead of public school kids. I held my own; however, the school had an abnormal amount of meathead bullies. My best friend there had his lung punctured when a jock impaled him with a javelin in a close quarter attack. All the other jocks stood around laughing. PE should be optional. That's where the bullies use exercise as an excuse to terrorize in my opinion. I did like the school though. Worst school ever. I attended form 1st grade to 10th grade and HATED it. I was not taken into consideration whatsoever. The faculty literally are watching you just to catch you slip up once and get you in trouble for it. Unless you are straight A+++ and a perfect child, you will have a terrible time here. I graduated from Episcopal and I loved it. I never had a problem with any kids or anything and I had a great relationship with all my teachers. We love going to CGs for meets. They hold the LA open every year. I'm sure for those who are looking at this review, most would be looking at a gym for their child, so I'll address that first. From an outsiders perspective the coaches and staff (and gym moms!) seem nice. They seem to care about their kids a great deal and their kids do well. If you're looking up this place because you are going here for a meet- there is plenty of parking and it is directed well. The place is kept clean (and bathrooms stocked). **if you're wanting to go upstairs To watch BRING A FAN (when there are a lot of people it gets warm- and air doesn't circulate the best behind the Plexiglas). My son has been taking classes here for about 6 months now and he loves it! His coach is fun and engaging and my son's skills improve each week. From start to finish the whole experience with Acadian was top notch. Jon came out to my house and walked me through all of my possible options as far as configuration and placement of equipment. Then after my assignment to get mounting brackets installed for my TV fell through bas Home 360 had us on a waiting list for months, Acadian went to Home Depot and set it up themselves. I will guarantee that the TV and mount will still be standing if a tornado rolls through. I also got a wifi upgrade upgrade installed. Since then, my Nest cameras have yet to have an outage due to poor signal. And now get great wifi signal all the way in my backyard. I admit I was concerned when they said they didn't use Ubiquity products but now several weeks in I'm quite satisfied. With all this said, I did try to contact another local company that's maybe a mile from my house and they didn't even bother to return my calls. So as soon as my wife approves the budget for surround sound speakers, I will be contacting Acadian again no doubt about it.Steve

Acadian customer service has been great. We recently had WiFi upgrade installed after having upgraded home audio and video awhile back. We were having some issues with new system. I know there's private acting coaches in town but LACC has not only an impressive list of Academy Alum but this Academy receives National recognition. This is me and my 5 year old son favorite place to go. A theater with a great arcade! The theater has comfortable recliner chairs. And….. all the games actually work!!! Great arcade prices and prizes. The theater is always clean. The staff is friendly which is hard to find this day and age. They are prompt. It’s like the Chick-fil-A of movie theaters! My son dropped his arcade card on the piano keys game and the staff went over and beyond to help. I recommend for anyone looking for good quality fun. Great mom.and POP type theater, EXTREMELY nice people running it..seats are very nice and you have a small 'tray' that swivels over your reclining seats. It has about 10 screens, but it's layed out so much better than the other huge cine-plexes…no long walks to concession stands. Went and saw a comedy called Easter Sunday. It was a marginal movie glad it was $5 Tuesday with free popcorn. You have to wait in line to order a drink I think they've got a app or kiosk or something also never use that. I am a student at LSU and the best thing that I have done for myself was purchase the movie club subscription. This is the perfect place to go when I need a break from student life. I have been to other theatres in the city and can without a doubt say that this is the best one. Whenever I go I can always count on Cole or Bridget to give great customer service. I hardly ever have an issue, but if I accidentally bought the ticket for the wrong showtime or wanted to change my drink they have helped with no contest. Great job, keep it up!Dylan Jones

I love the comfort of the place. Can almost feel you are at home with a bunch of strangers, lol, watching a movie. We did not like the fact that they no longer do free refills. Only due to the fact that the items are hugely expensive. Also they need to do more thorough cleaning. I dropped my ID between the seats. I would like to make it clear that I spoke with the Dean and the President of the students and got the students to sign a petition at fortis college and the President informed me that she has the power to change the way graduation is and she is not going too ! as a student I do not think its fair that we only have ONE commencement ceremony and students start a new term every six weeks i informed the president about the students reaction and suggested 2 ceremonies throughout the year so all students get a decent time to celebrate their accomplishments and she simply did not care also they use term "graduation'' in orientation but its really your "expected finish date" i think fortis has a lot to learn they say they are just like a real college but i think its just for the money bc why would you not want to celebrate your students accomplishments ??Jania Street

I dont know whats going on but I have never seen this theater in such disarray. I purchased my tickets online, when I arrived to the theater the doors were locked. A employee opened the door and informed us that they have limited services , which was fine we just wanted to see the movie. Concessions informed me that they only had a few items available, again no big deal. I walked into the bathroom, it smelled like SEWAGE, the door was proped open I noticed it was warm. We walked to our auditorium and I noticed 4 big containers of trash stacked to the top, there was popcorn everywhere I have never seen this theater so nasty and gross I snapped pictures so I can send it to corporate to show them that I was not making things up, there was pubic hair in the bathroom sinks and when we sat down we noticed it was unusually hot, we asked if the air was broken and the employee said yes, I feel the employee should have warned us before we bought tickets to sit down, we got a refund and left. I understand right now we are living in very unusual circumstances, but please be a little more honest with your customers, the young lady that worked concessions was very " indifferent " and was on her cell phone, not a good look.Ann C

Bought tickets online and was super easy to get them at the kiosk once we arrived. Just insert my card or enter the QR code. The snacks were delicious, a bit over price but expected. The water tasted like metal, I was shocked because it came from the fancy Coke machine. The auditorium it self was clean. Easy access to your seats, very spacious, and very comfortable. The restrooms them selves were a hit or miss, I came with my small child and we went to the family restroom and the bathroom looked like it wasn't cleaned in days. There was some type of throwup or fecal matter caked onto the stall. So we went to the ladies restroom instead, it was fairly clean. We watched The Bad Guys, and it was totally adorable. It had a twist that we were not expecting, I recommend it to anyone with little ones, or just want a good animated movie. The theater has nice staff, great concessions, and a decent bar. When you order from the bar be sure to specify what you want (special drink, bar special, specific alcohol) or else you'll just be charged for the best expensive item. The self service machines outside were not working and no one knew why. Not a big deal, you can always buy online in advance. The restrooms were in desperate need of cleaning and there really was no excuse for the messiness. The theater wasn't full or even crowded. Recently went here for Tank and the Bangas performance. The crew that worked here were really nice. The bartenders were attentive and nice. The facility is well ventilated for smokers and non smokers. I want to point out that I had two charges on my account from them. I recognized one and not the other. AMC 16 was AMAZING yesterday. In a showing for Halloween Ends (a birthday plan I've had for the last 3 of my 4 most recent birthdays), my friend and I are the only ones there, then once lights go down, a couple walk in. . . With a toddler. Yes, in a rated R horror film, where as SOON as the Previews got scary, the kid started crying out and could not be shushed by the couple who brought them. Unfortunately, I couldn't hold my tongue and loudcapped, "Really?? A BABY in a rated R horror movie??" I paid $30 to see this movie that's been building up for this finale for DECADES, but it was NEVER going to happen for me through the whole movie with a screaming child in the theater. All of a sudden, I was a racist and needed to just say that. . . The lights were already dimmed when they came in, and when they sat so close that the child was already disrupting me, I moved to the very back row hoping we wouldn't hear the baby as much. . I had no clue what the couple's ethnicity was; that's not what was disrupting my experience. When I wouldn't stand up and engage physically with her (because I shattered my ankle in a wreck a few years ago and if it breaks again it'll be amputated), I just crossed my legs and smiled. I feel so bad for the man with her because my calmness seemed to freak him out. She threw her phone at me, then DEMANDED it back (like I'mma be stupid enough to stand at the top of the stairs with this irate woman). Then proceeded back to her hysterical child ONLY to grab her huge Blue Icee and come back upstairs and DOUSE me. . Then ran frantically out of the theater before help or my friend got back to me. Guess what? I got a full refund and 4 free movie passes. And YES, I went home, changed clothes and saw the movie for FREEEEEEE. I think I won.Rebooted kid Games YT

I couldn't watch the movie in peace because there was a baby in there crying and running around and the parent(s) really didn't do anything to stop him. There was also a LOT of talking in the area I was in and they didn't even seem interested in watching the movie. There were some other things that happened but mgmnt was polite and handled the situation. Besides that, the movie was good (the parts that I saw and was able to hear). I understand that people want to bring small kids to watch the movie with them as a family but they also need to understand that other people who pay their money and don't have small kids there want to do the same and it's only fair and right to respect other movie goers as they would have wanted to be respected.Annette Watson

Our family enjoyed the reclining seats and space they provided to not feel squished against your neighbor. Seating space front to back in the rows was way better than the last theater we visited. I almost forgot there were other guests in front of us. Picking and reserving sests online was a big plus to keep our group together during the ticket buying process. Will definitely return again when visiting Baton Rouge.James Barnett
