I saw The Messiah here on Sunday. Campus is unbelievable and it was wonderful to feel God's presence on a school campus again. The entire production was amazing and I could not have enjoyed it more. It's very worth finding out more about the story of how it was written first, so when you watch it live you'll have a deeper appreciation. Parking is an issue here and make sure you go early when you do. You'll be greeted by a friendly face who can direct you from there. Who could ask for anything more?Kyle Whelehon

A whole lot has changed since I was attending here. The name of the mascot has changed. Also this was called Point Loma Nazarene College. Speaking of changes, one thing that hopefully hasn't changed is the cafeteria food, most college cafeteria food SUCKS…NOT HERE…the food is/was catered by Marriot. Great school for a community college. I heard it’s the best around. Many students come from San Diego or from the North just to go here. They do a lot of things by hand (compared to other schools that do things electronically). The grounds are well kept. The parking is horrible during the beginning of the semester. More parking will be available as time comes. When you register for a class, you need to pay the same day or you get dropped. If you’ve dropped a lot of classes, the school might give you a hold because the classes are impacted. There is a daycare center. Parking permits and books are relatively cheaper than most.Aurora A

Good School. The campus is breath taking. Views of the ocean in the dining hall and surrounding areas. Tons of plants and trees all around, a great variety. Staff are helpful. Parking is a struggle, unless you don't mind parking in dirt lots but then it's not worth buying a parking permit. As for professors and academia, they could improve. Check professors ratings onlines some teach to only one or two learning styles. The classes are pretty easy. Maybe to easy.Michael

I am currently in the vet tech program( just finished term 1 and starting term 2) here are a few things I wish I knew about the program before I started. UPDATE!!! STRONGLY suggest getting your generals done else where!!! Almost done with term 2 and Looking back, the program would be soo much easier if you were just taking the vet core classes. Seriously.. if you are really thinking about going here fresh out of high school and think you are going to be fine with the work load you are in for a rude awakening.. just please take my advice and get your generals done somewhere else. You will actually enjoy your time here if you are just taking the vet core classes because the vet related classes and the generals work load at the same time is extremely stressful because again you will be taking roughly 20 credit hours( that’s general classes and vet core classes) AND the material is very rushed. -curriculum is extremely rushed -instructors are a hit or miss (3/5 instructors were really great and knew what they were talking about and we’re able to explain really well, other 2 did not know the material and did not know how to effectively teach/explain/ or answers any questions about the material they were teaching. Pretty much had to self teach in both classes) -the parking situation is a hot mess. Parking on campus is extremely limited and the street parking is a joke. -The remediation assignments (Student services assigns you an extra assignment on top of your homework in whatever class for being 15+ minutes late or missing the class or leaving 15+ minutes early ie. Handwritten 100 bullet points on the slides of the power point you missed. The instructor then has to sign off on it and you turn it into student services no later than 1 week of the absence/tardy) is extremely unnecessary and just adds more stress. -But all in all still a better program than any of the other schools I was looking into before I started the program. I’m still loving what I am learning about and the hands on labs are amazing. My classmates and I are extremely close and working together and helping each other study is a must to succeed in every class. If you do find yourself struggling there are so many resources the school provides to help you ie. free tutoring from a peer tutor, tutoring from your instructors per request via emailing them. Scheduling an appointment with the Student success coordinator (helps you plan your study schedule and helps with testing stragies). Just know this is a tough program because it’s rushed and you WILL be taking anywhere from 12-20 credits hours. ( this is decided based on if you have transfer credits from other colleges ie. math 1010, Biology1010, college writing, etc. I was taking 20 credit hours. I did not choose this, your schedule will be chosen for you by the school) and you will be eating, living and breathing veterinary medicine for the next 2 years. ( also I want to add that it is STRONGLY recommended that you DONT have a job. At least in 1st term. In orientation they go more in-depth about this. A lot of my classmates including myself quit our full/ part time jobs after 1 month in the program because it was too much) If this is something you think you can handle then it is definitely worth it!Kaitlyn Hart

This school has all the technology you could ever want, and provides a lot of support. I wish I could have afforded to go there. That’s the only downside, is the really high price. I should add, the price is high for a reason. They buy top of the line technology to teach their nurses and vet techs (those are the only things I’ve seen myself, and I am 100% sure they put the money into their other programs, too.) My current financial situation makes the school unaffordable, but the price is 100% worth it. I was going to make myself afford it until I was told about a deposit. I WAS shocked by the $400+ deposit they required during orientation (for the LVN program.) I wasn’t told about it except less than a week before orientation. There was really no iltime for me to prepare. My financial aid advisor, Vanessa, was AMAZING and tried everything to make the school more affordable. My academic advisor, Nikia, was the BEST. She really helped to make me feel comfortable and helped teach me more about the program.Jessica Laroche

The program I was in (vet tech) was great for the most part! However there was a lot of bumps in the 2 years and disorganization when I was there. Teachers were a hit or miss you could get a great one and would love that class, or you would get one you dreaded and never wanted to go to class. Being the first class to graduate from that program we didn't get all the amazing equipment that the students have now. This program over all is a great experience because when you are struggling or need help you can find teachers always doing tutor sessions or the LRC always is willing to help you learn things as well. they are doing the best they can to make sure things run smoothly from now on. I would recommend this course now because it seems like things will run smoother now that they learned from passed mistakes with my class.Allison Kunic

I heard that USD is an excellent private university. They have highly accredited teaching, law, technology, language, environmental and psychology schools, as well as a number of others. I also heard that their physical education school is quite good. USD is one of our nation's top rated colleges in regards to higher education and just to get admitted, you must score fairly high on the SAT ( Taking the ACT can always helps too ) and presenting the admissions evaluation committee with a high school GPA that shows that you were in the top percentile of your graduating class is very beneficial; it also helps to have done some volunteer work and to have been on at least one or two high school committees. All of these combined together should help you gain admission to USD. This college is quite competitive-as are most of our best colleges nowadays. Most of USD's professors are seasoned-the best in our country-and very demanding; graduating in four years means a lot of hard work and can be a wearisome task and often taking a couple of summer session classes or a class or two during Christmas break can help one graduate within this time scale. They do offer scholarships however, these are difficult to get and student loans ( Federal Educational Grants can easily surpass fifty-thousand dollars a year! USD's tuition is at the high end of the scale, especially if you live off of campus ( The City of San Diego is amongst the ten highest priced "cost of living" metropolitan areas in the USA ). There are hundreds of nice condominiums, townhouses and apartments within the surrounding area however, the rental rates for a one to four bedroom unit start at about $900 to $1200 per room ( living together ) per month or about $2200 for a two bedroom townhouse/apartment, to $3500+ for a three to four bedroom ; I'm just giving you a general idea…it's a might expensive to live anywhere in San Diego. USD has many of the most beautifully designed buildings in San Diego; architectural masterpieces. Tourists who come to visit San Diego often include this private university in their sightseeing itinerary, as the photographic opportunities around this campus are simply marvelous; especially on a clear winter day from about early afternoon to sunset. They have a small visitors center, as you drive through their main entrance center and if you get lost, you should stop and ask a couple of students and they may be able to help you? There's a lot to see, including San Diego's famed Tecalote State Park, which lies just below the north side of this university.charles chiles

The campus is pretty. The teachers, at least those who are fluent in English, are mediocre, and those whose English language skills are very poor, are token so this campus can brag about being diverse. The dorms are so noisy that it is impossible to do any work in one's own room or get any sleep before 3 a.m. The people responsible for policing the dorms are too lazy and callously indifferent to do anything, and no matter how many complaints are made, it is a nightmare to live in the dirty, smelly and horribly noisy dorms. The religious classes, which are mandatory, are a total waste of time and not based on any accurate facts or historical accuracy. The head of the Student Health Center is dishonest and harmful, willing to smear any student she takes a hatred to. There are no responsible administrative officers to be found if you have a problem. This is not the place if you care about getting a solid and admirable education.Susan Lea

The University accepted my son to the credential program August 2011. After 2 years and more than $32000 in tuition he is not being allowed to do his student teaching because, in the opinion of some professors, he lacks the skills they require. These professionals (who demand that the credential candidates be able to reach and teach all students no matter what their learning styles or disabilities) should be knowledgeable enough to bring out the best in a young man who has wanted to be a teacher since in the seventh grade he was chosen by his teacher to tutor other students in reading. The professionals who are standing in the way of his dream need to evaluate their own teaching. What did they do to ensure my son's success in their program? As a young man going to college for the for the first time, this was a great experience for me. I thought I would hate college, since I hated going to school my entire life, but wow this college is awesome. The school is really small. You will learn how to get around with ease. The campus is also on a hill, and surrounded by lovely nature, trees and animals of All sorts. Which I personally love. The tutoring system is amazing and I’m completely satisfied. I really abuse the math and English tutors everyday! The library is beautiful (my favorite place). The food though could use improvements though, but that’s about it. 99% of people are very friendly so it’s a great environment for me personally. I never thought I would love going to school until now thank god wow! I will never transfer to another college I love this place and I can wait to start school again. Rio Hondo has evolved so much since i first started taking classes in 2006. One of the things that hasn't changed is the attention and support that the staff give the students. Many new buildings like the library have been reconstructed and updated to accommodate the return of all the students back to campus after enduring the pandemic. Alos a good place to hike. you can take the far side entrance by the police academy and continue on up the side road all the way to the top. its pretty challenging but the views are great. Im currently taking a ceramics class, and its quite enjoyable and you get to take home all your completed work.Andrew Ramirez

Best Community College I have been to, they have a lot to offer. Their programs help to guide students into their specific major. The career counseling helped me realize which career I want to be in. Also I found the math lab very useful and they even offer it Saturday mornings. They have the best staff who are very knowledgeable and caring and listen to you and offer the best advice to achieve your individual goals. I highly recommend this school for anyone who needs the help and guidance to help them achieve their educational goals.Jennifer Rios

I've been a student (intermittently) here since 2010. As someone that loves learning and the overall "school" atmosphere, I feel extremely fortunate that I get to be a student at Palomar College; "lucked out", I would say. The teachers are magnificent and have the potential to change your life forever (I know a few that have for me already*). You can get help with enrollment fees with through the BOG Waiver – all my classes end up being free because of it. Parking permits 1/2 off also. The school is modern and always improving. Their buildings are stylish and unlike anything I've seen anywhere else. Each is unique, yet somehow they all come together to form a beautiful campus. I truly look at this campus like a second home. I love going here. (Parking can suck, that's a big reason why I try to only stick to night classes 🤓) ➡️ HOWEVER! They now have a brand new parking GARAGE! I haven't used it yet, as I am only doing evening classes, but I can only imagine how much it helps everyone be able to find parking! It is nice to know that they actually do care about the problems we face throughout college life & do what they can to help make it as comfortable & as enjoyable as possible! UPDATE (3/19/18)!! I started using the parking garage and it is AWESOME!!! Security cameras coming soon! This school keeps on getting better and better!! 'Safety' is also another big thing here that they take seriously. They make sure to inform us students on a regular (& when, if necessary) basis all the details regarding our options when it comes to being and staying safe throughout our education at Palomar. They have their own (actual/legit) police force that is on duty 24/7 & a direct emergency line to call any hour day or night. They provide free escorts to anyone needing or just wanting a little extra piece of mind walking to their car or anywhere around campus. Every class locks from the inside by a button next to the teacher's phone that keeps anyone from getting in in case of an active shooter or anything else putting students at harm, & when they lock, it sends a signal to the Palomar Police with the location of the room, etc. etc. I could go on but you get it, they care & work hard to keep us safe! 🤗 * AJ Professor Jack Hook, AJ Professor Leeyann Chapman, COMM Professor Wendy Nelson & LS Professor Lisa Burns; just to name a few! 😉Courtney Grimshaw

*updated October, 2022* I wish I could warn everyone not to go here. The counselors are almost impossible to get an appointment with, and they make you do some of your own counseling work instead of them helping when it's their job. I had to plan out all my own classes…no one helped me. I also had to figure out which schools accept my AA from palomar because again, the counselors won't help you figure that out. If you have no idea how to do college forms and transcripts, where to start or where to go, DO NOT GO HERE. You will be your own student, teacher, and counselor. *old review below* Now to explain the two stars…as a student here, so far it has been okay. It is pretty hard to make friends on campus and I don't feel like I'm getting enough help from the financial section. I have also asked for help from the counseling department and they told me "you have had too many appointments and we need to save full hour appointments for students who haven't had any." Ummm….okay I understand everyone needs an appointment but to turn away students asking for help? Wow…as I write this review I knocked off stars. The teachers here have been great in my experience; so far I have only had two horrible teachers, Scott Klinger in the photo department and another male teacher who was my math teacher years ago.Alexandra

Keep in mind that you get what you pay for with everything in life. There's a reason it's so inexpensive. On top of that they force their political bias on students in most of their classes. Over my time at Palomar there's been a great deal of times students have to tell teachers what they want to hear for a grade as opposed to what they really believe. This should not be the case and students should have the right to think or believe whatever they want. Also the website where you register for classes is always having different problrms or not working for one reason or another. Also at times it is impossible to contact anyone from the school over the phone. More often then not you have to call 3 or 4 times before anyone is able to get to the phone. There are some genuinely good people and good professors at Palomar. But overall it has not been a good experience for me.Camden Tarico

CBU is pretty rad, and I want to respond to what I've seen in a couple reviews here. The first of which is people saying the location in Riverside sucks. I'll admit Riverside is not super tight, but there is the mission inn and a drive in movie theater and a few other things which are pretty cool within a few minutes of campus. The best part of Riverside is it's less than an hour from the beach, an hour from the mountains, and hour from LA and 45 minutes from a few theme parks. So if you have a car and aren't super lazy, your weekends should be fun. And there's always fun stuff going on campus too, (dive in movie nights at the pool, intramural and NCAA sports games, concerts, carnivals etc.) so if you have a good attitude you can have fun hanging out on campus. People are saying CBU wants your money. Of course they do, so does every other university that is in business. However CBU will really work with you to help you afford the school. Get good grades, maybe go out for a sports team or the music department and you'll get even more money. You have to work for it though, they don't give out serious amounts of money to anyone. If your parents are in ministry (pastor/missionary/work full time at a church) you're in luck too cuz they have scholarships for that too. It's a Christian school… Yep. I wouldn't say intolerant though. You will be taught what they believe to be Christian values and you can only expect that. There's like 7,000 students too so I'm sure there are rude intolerant ones there too. I think you will find rude/intolerant people no matter where you go but it most definitely is not the essence of the student body. CBU has a uniquely welcoming and loving community, and that's something I've heard from Christians and non-Christians alike at the school. Both are welcome to come but both also are required to go to chapel and follow the rules. I don't agree with all the rules but most of them are a pretty reasonable balance of trying to give freedom to students and adhere to Christian principles (coming from a non-conservative Christian background). That's part of making the decision to go to a Christian university, and realistically it's probably what's best for you anyways. If anyone has anything bad to say about the food I don't know what world famous chef you had cooking for you your entire life before here. The caf has killer variety, Chik-fil-a is freaking Chik-fil-a, Wandas has great breakfast and the best steak quesadillas, and El-Monte is as good as Chipotle. CBU does give real world experience. I know as a business major there are some awesome professors that are all about real world experience. Dr. Weniger and Alderson are a couple that come to mind. You get out what you put into your classes and almost every single professor at the school is very open to spending time with you helping you out with homework or just life. Academics are pretty top tier, but professors do come and go and though most are great, some are much better than others, so do a little time looking round rate my professor if you want the best ones. CBU is great. Sure there are other universities that are great too (not to many that compare that are in Southern California though) but CBU is a well rounded school academically, socially and spiritually. No school/student body is perfect, that's just life, but CBU is a solid choice to spend 4 years growing academically and spiritually into who you are going to be the rest of your life.Jake Roque

Okay, so I went to this school originally considering a nursing degree. It's hard to have many nice things to say about this school.. The school looks nice, but the neighborhood area is crap. You have to drive kinda far to see or do anything nice. It's hardly in Riverside, CA. Feel more like Norco, armpit of California. They put most of their students in cheap housing. Much of it was temporary when I was there. Other housing was old folks homes. Weird cheap, and kinda gross. The major feature of this school is this: They want your money. That's all. It's nothing spectacular in any way, and based on the price, it's a really bad deal. They "award" small scholarships to practically any student for any reason. They try to bring in a bunch of students through their music school. A music degree is NOT WORTH 100k- 150k of debt. And please remember folks, if everybody gets a scholarship, it's not actually a scholarship. THINK about it.. They just want your attention and your money. ALSO, Please be aware they will be raising the tuition on you every year, by lots of money! If you start at 30-35k, You will probably end at 40-45k annually. It's probably costing something around or over 40 or more thousand per year now. And YOU WILL pay more than you think by the end of the year. It's a Christian school, which is fine if you're a Christian. They are relatively intolerant conservatives though. Very serious/ oppressive Christian all over the place. Many of the students are sheltered, and having moved on to a regular university, I can tell you it doesn't represent the real world experience, or normal people, for the most part. Regarding this: Don't bother going here unless you're a rich serious sheltered Christian. If that's what you value, then maybe you'll like this place. Some of the people are fairly friendly, and the food in the cafeteria was good WHEN I was there. That more than a year ago. Some of the teachers were alright as well. I mostly took science classes, for reference. In summary, if you're not a young Christian who has no desire for real-world experience,then don't go here. The price is so not worth it! It's an institution for profit! Go to your local community college and earn entrance to a great University! Even Ivy league schools are looking to replace young dropouts with students that did well in their community colleges! It's just not worth it. If you're a thinking person, you'll start hating this school not long after you get there. NOT WORTH ITMichael D. Bear

I loved all 4 years at this school! As a freshman, I lived in the dorms and met my group of closest friends that I still hang out with to this day. I loved the food and had to be careful with dessert in the cafeteria otherwise I would have packed on the calories. The school does a great job of setting up events that target every student and gives great deals for other off-campus events like cheap Lakers tickets, cheap tickets to theme parks, and other giveaways. I am Mexican and I have never once felt like I was discriminated against at this school, if anything there are plenty of people at this school who make an effort to talk about racial injustices among students. As far as the incident in Ontario, I just want to say that you can find that level of ingorance at any university and even more so outside of that setting. Two girls made a stupid decision to throw a drink on a guy and they happened to be CBU students. If I’m being real here, CBU does not turn many people away when it comes to the application process, so any person who has higher than a 2.5 GPA will most likely get in. CBU does not necessarily focus on whether you are a Christian or not because they’d rather have you here at this school than at a school where the chance of hearing the gospel is much lower. Now back to the point, CBU is honestly such a great school and if you’ve ever visited, you notice right away that the atmosphere is one that you can’t find in many other places. People treat you with love, respect, understanding, and kindness. CBU is a school that truly looks to serve the students in any way possible and that’s the truth. Don’t let others who are are upset about what happened in Ontario tear down the idea of coming to this school because you will definitely see that the number of students who will treat you with love and respect far outweighs the ones who would pour a drink on you for sitting during the national anthem. I'd like to think that because of Covid, there is a lack of help from this college. I have been trying my very best for the last month to do everything myself without the help from any employees at this college. I have not been contacted regarding how to get enrolled, registered, what classes I need, financial aid, etc. I have been struggling since I have submitted my application to this college. You basically have to figure out everything on your own which isn't hard for me to do because I was walked through the steps from my previous college who actually took the time to help me out. While I understand quite a few things, there are some things that I don't understand and that I have questions about but getting into contact with anyone at this college is very difficult. Even through emails, no one responds. This college lacks the skill for helping their future students. I believe that I have done everything necessary in order to be a student but getting in touch with a counselor is the biggest problem. Making an appointment with a counselor via zoom, is quite a struggle and I have messaged quite a few employees at the college but yet, I still haven't received any responses. I am about to give up and just try somewhere else although this college is very convient for me, it's not worth the struggle and hassle at this point. 😔Mary McDonald

Great atmosphere. Their financial aid office needs help though. I started my fasfa around May and I'm trying to get in for the fall. I sat down with the students that help you with the fasfa form online so I don't do it wrong. I had to wait for them to approve it. They told me to bring my parents IRS info, even though I used the retrieval tool. I had to do a dependent verification form. Turned in copies of those. Then asked for my W-2. Then they asked for another verification form. Just constantly asking me for things I turned in. It sometimes takes them weeks to let you know what's next. So I learned the hard way the previous year that they ask for these forms every semester. They didn't tell me until I was applying for another semester. First year student trying to figure them out. I lived in El Cajon when they were asking for forms making this process extra annoying. Apparently they had to restart the process for the new semester. Don't ask me why but this is the most annoying part of school. I advise making multiple copies of whatever they ask for IRS FORMS, W-2, AND TAX INFO. They'll ask for it next semester and start it months before to avoid lines. I'm grateful there is a financial office though or school would be ROUGH! Thank you. EDIT: THEY MOVED TO A 270PERSONAL

City College is represented by the San Diego transit people, MTS, as City College Trolley Station, a cave, possibly Plato's, remarkable for grime and an expansive range of social behaviors not common in the quiet halls of ivy and higher education. The City College Trolley Station, is, of course, the gateway of San Diego's always expanding skidrow that could be seen as starting here and continuing to 25th and Commercial. San Diego and the real estate community promotes skidrow as being the East Village, but it's not really so much a village as it is a refugee camp. And it is getting bigger every day and will one day engulf all of downtown and possibly as far into the neighborhoods as Hillcrest and North Park. I've been a at USU for a year now working on my Masters in Nursing and my FNP, and I really love the whole experience ( well, except the lack of sleep from working full-time and staying up late to do homework!). There is no slacking! These professors are on top of it! The curriculum is challenging, and every class is laid out in such an organized structured way so you know what to expect. I received my Bachelors in Nursing from Clemson University and I have to say, I much prefer the close friendships, and friendly caring teachers at USU. Even though we are from all over the United States, I feel more connected than I ever did sitting in a classroom once a week and missing work. This program is definitely doable while working full time. Did I mention challenging? But the professors are truly the VERY BEST!! The system is user friendly, and I encourage anyone sitting on the fence, to get off and get your degree! We have a major nursing shortage which is projected to worsen over the next few years, we need you!!!Cynthia Strader

PLEASE STEER CLEAR and opt for a non-profit institution instead. The application process was absolutely terrible. I was working with Troy to apply to the teaching credential program. He gave me a list of items to complete, and was unable to have my transcripts reviewed to waive the CSET (I have an undergrad degree in the subject better before turning them in. I finally completed my application and was told I’d get a decision within two days. Two days later I checked in and still no decision and was also given false information about financial aid by an enrollment officer. I checked in again and still no decision made. I check in again and they tell me there’s a glitch in the system and my application was never processed even though Troy told me it was being processed. Even after the semester has started, I’ve yet to receive any decision. This has NEVER happened to me in the past but I’ve also only attended non-profit institutions.Beliuye

OMG…please run far and away from this school. They are disorganized. They mess up on your student accounts and you ending up owning more than what you signed up for. They screwed up my student loan and now they left me with a $15,000 bill left to pay on my own. I've had nothing but headaches from this school. They don't try to help. Your better going to a state funded university or a real university that has better organization. Don't waste your time or money here.Jer Lightrings

Two years ago I had the good insight of enrolling in Concorde's PTA program. The program is run by knowledgeable Physical Therapists invested in quality education (Mary, Sam, Laura, Kelly, Dennis). They provided me with the necessary tools to start a new career and enter the work force feeling competent with my skills. The school has a department dedicated to assist graduates find a job, Alvy has personally helped me with this, he even rendered a mock interview so that I would show up to a possible employer as a strong and coherent candidate. Because the program is so well organized (from prerequisites to clinical rotations and even when/how to signing up for your board test!) it is easier to have a balance school/personal life. My experience at Concorde has truly been astounding. I joined the Medical Assistant program and my teacher Ms Tameka was nothing short of a great instructor. She was very patient, compassionate and dedicated to ensuring that every student learned even if it meant staying late or adapting the way she presented materials.The Financial staff Eva and Peetee were very efficient in handling my paperwork so that I could dedicate my focus to studying and be successful. Upon completion my graduate employment specialist Rocky was a true rockstar. I had no faith in using their services but this guy was very helpful in making sure my resume was top notch and that I was interview ready and confident enough to land jobs and ask for the money I deserved. After completing my externship, Rocky Ramirez who is our graduate employment specialist assisted me with my resume and employment opportunities. This is a great school. I would definitely recommend this college to anybody wanting to learn about Chinese medicine as well as massage and acupuncture techniques. School feels very complete and the staff is very knowledgeable. It's exciting to work with such professional teachers and to learn so much that's such an accelerated rate. I personally am very excited to attend this school and would recommend it to anybody that is looking to become certified and massage or acupuncture and so much more. The facilities are generally pretty clean and well-kept as well as stocked pretty well. The library is full of so much material that you can't really find anywhere else. Student alumni have a lot of ability for employment as well as Clinic hours. I've noticed that a lot of our teachers are former students themselves and I think that says a lot about the school. The dean is a very Hands-On open door policy type of professional. And the students are really wonderful people and it has been a pleasure to work with such ambitious people. They do also have a bookstore and a small Cafe where you can get all of your reading material as well as a bite to eat. They are very covid compliant even post-plandemic. And I think it's really amazing how they have set the school up so that many different medical facilities are represented on campus. I'm very excited to continue my education here as well as very grateful for this opportunity. Student Clinic played a very important role in my health and well Being. I went there with a Thyroid problem, namely a goiter, and wanted to avoid surgery. I went there for about 8 months continuously and learnt so much about the Acupuncture way of healing and dealing with the body. Students worked on me, supervised by well seasoned teachers. I was the kind of person who likes to learn and empower myself in taking care of my well being. They did not hesitate to answer my questions and guide as they did the treatments. I suggest to always have it be a two way street. Engage in the process. Do not just lay there and leave but ask questions and make sure that you're learning and empowering yourself into this holistic way of looking at the body and health. I loved it. I am so grateful. Also, I could afford it better. Students always friendly and doing their best because they are learning and want to strengthen their skills and be the best. I started coming here about 3 months ago. I had head to toe issues, while they are not 100% resolved I am about 50% better than when I first walked in the door. With only about 6 sessions. Issues from chronic all over body pain, hearing loss, digestive, migraines, restless legs, thirsty not thirsty, anxiety, like I said head to toe. They have treated me so gently, carefully and thoroughly. They take their time making sure they're precise with their questions and technique. I highly recommend this school. They have some amazing people here and I am so grateful I was turned on to this place. I have committed myself to a year of treatments, and my 8 year old son comes with me now, too. I'm sure I won't stop at year but with the amount of issues I have, they didn't happen over night and won't go away over night either.AthenaMarnae

I am currently in my 3rd quarter at AUHS. So far, my experience here has been amazing and I have met lots of students that have become my friends and study buddies. I admit, the nursing program is hard just like one would expect. Nothing comes easy, you have to work your way up to get where you are. It is hard, but if you talk with your professors regarding your concerns in a class, they will definitely give you tips and help you out. Also, take advantage of the tutoring and read, read, read!! You won’t learn anything if you do not read and understand the material yourself! I did not get to meet the staff right away due to the pandemic, but once I did, they were very welcoming just like how they were in the online orientations and meetings. They definitely take the students’ feedback into considerations and make sure you are heard. So far, the staff I have met in the Student Services is Ms. Alma, the registrar. She is always there in the office when you need to talk to her or have any questions. I usually go to her when I have questions (even thru email) and she will direct you to the best person that can help you with whatever concern you may have. Other faculties/staff I have met are Ms. Venus, Ms. Carlet, Professor Carter, Professor Marco, and Professor Flores! They have all been amazing to me, especially this quarter. I believe that the professors here want you to learn and succeed in the best way possible, even if this program is rigorous and challenging.Coleen Mendoza

I have been in the BSN program since 2016 and after facing many trials and tribulations as a nursing student, I can confidently say that this school is challenging and forces you to prioritize school work and a strong work ethic. AUHS prepares you to be the best nurse you can be in the real world. Dr. Atienza has been the best dean that the school has had in the last couple of years. He truly cares about students success in the program. I've had the pleasure of encountering such great personnel such as Alma from Student Services. Professor Bobbie carter is a great teacher who listens and advocates for student concerns. There also a handful of instructors who genuinely care for students learning and success. This school encompasses Christian values and applies them into community events, as a way to give back. I’m a current student here at AUHS, and so far, I haven’t really felt a significant complaint about the school. I have anticipated the challenge of the program, especially during the pandemic. It’s an intensive program; students must work hard as it is not an easy field to be in later on. I’ve always been told nursing requires students to allot time, focus, and critical thinking skills to succeed, especially in an accelerated program like AUHS’. One thing I can confidently say about this school is, they have such a fantastic staff. Student Services and Admissions are exceptional. Miss Alma in student services and Miss Maria in admissions are the best; they always cater to my needs every time I visit their offices. They always make sure I leave their offices having all my concerns answered. So I recommend them both if you decided to visit their departments!Mikko Arceno

I highly recommend furthering your education elsewhere. I was told INCORRECT information by those who likely get paid handsomely to tell their students CORRECT information. I am 1 1/2 years into their Masters program for MFT with 8 classes left. I withdrew from a class during their 2nd Spring AFTER inquiring from both my advisor AND the one stop coordinator Alexis. I was informed by both that I would be fine withdrawing (because I took 2 classes in Spring 1), I would maintain my FA eligibility, all would be good… fast forward 2 months, a slew of emails (initiated by mostly myself) because of multiple balance changes on my account, I am now in arrears for $900 which is expected to be paid before I can enroll in any more classes. I'm disgusted at the way they have handled this and would NEVER recommend Brandman to anyone. This comes on the heels of me having to track down a Professor because of a discrepancy on my grade (my first C). It took this Professor 6 weeks to respond to me, although I really am not surprised considering he felt it necessary to plan a personal vacation our 2nd week of an 8 week class and then called in sick the 3rd class. I mean, its not like the students aren't paying upwards of $2000 for each class, right?! I have filed a complaint with the Dept of Education and will continue to file complaints with whoever I can, because this place should not be allowed to be running with such incompetent individuals handling something as important as a person's education.Kelley C

VETERAN STUDENTS.I have been attending UmassGlobal since it was Brandman. They have dealt with the transition smoothly and ensured my accommodations for my GI Bills were met to receive full BAH. My one stop specialist Lindsey Elsensohn and campus director Melissa Brunson helped me through rough patches when the VA wouldn’t process payment due to online/name change. This school has marketed their military services but never did I expect a freaking campus director to reach out to a student to make sure I was ok. This is the only educational institution where I attended where the staff makes the first move and reaches out to their veteran students rather than wait for something to go wrong and have their students reach out to them. I can’t speak on behalf of everyone as it is not my nor anyone’s place to do so but I will say that UmassGlobal has very military friendly staff members and will go above and beyond to make sure us Vets get full use of the GI bill we earned. If you are a Vet l, like flexible course times, and are tired of “kids” at conventional university I would highly recommend this placeNathan Chin

I began my studies for my masters during the pandemic and chose brandman / UMass global because our kids highschool used them to allow students to earn both highschool and college credits. However , since I have attended and am almost done, financial aid support greatly lacks , many teachers should not be teaching, and advisors not really helping but referring you to other advisors. Everyone gives you vague answers when you do get a response and there is a great lack of communication among departments. Had someone given me a heads-up I would have waited a little longer and gone to one of the other schools that accepted me, brandman just had a faster start time. I have talked to other grads and they all feel the same as I do. So please save yourself the headache and learn from us , do your homework ask questions and make sure you feel comfortable before attending here, also once you start your credits are not transferable if you decide to switch schools. This school needs alot of work.Dan

I started the program with Ms Perez as my lab instructor and ended with Ms Patrice. I'm older, laid off from a 25yr career and didn't know what to do with my life let alone where to start. Ms Perez and Ms Patrice made learning so easy, fun and amongst all, they made it interesting and made me feel excited to keep attending. The process at Unitek is easy to complete due to the communication level the staff has with their students. My career advisor, Ms Lisa is great! Ms Lisa Literally held my hand through the exiting process, kept in touch throughout my externship, made sure I was staying sane throughout the process of going to extern, working nights and taking care of my family. Walked me through my application process for a job, held my hand through the interview process, kept in touch throughout the whole process until I got an offer letter!!!! My experience with everyone at Unitek was great, but my experience with Ms Lisa is one that needs to be recognized!!!!Chris Fusi

I had a wonderful experience with Ms. Patrice my laboratory instructor and Ms. Perez. Both have mentored me & helped me become the MA I am today. Ms. Lisa Haynes in Career Services is a hard worker & goes to bat for her students. I received a job offer during my externship, that was too good to pass up as a new grad, thanks to her guidance. I recommend taking your MA in the day class as the PM class lacks structure & professionalism with one particular teacher…that is the only reason I left off a star. The school itself has a fully functioning lab for clinical experience, is safe, clean, holds dinners or gives treats for student morale and tuition is less than other schools in the Bay Area.Jennifer Wills

yesterday 7/27/2020 I officially graduated from Concorde college (MA PROGRAM) and all I can say is if you’re looking for a school to help you learn about the medical field Concorde is it. They have great teachers willing to help you as much as possible. They have a great computer lab, always open to help! The school is very well kept and cleaned! Staff also does little events here and there just to show appreciation to the students which I loved. The staff here are AMAZING! 2 staff I would really like to shout out are ARIANA HERTZ & MONICA CARLOS! Both of these woman helped me so much and went out their way to make sure i was doing great at Concorde. Security GEORGE was also such a great staff, he always would help as much as he can. But overall all staff is great, super helpful and super friendly. I felt so welcomed at Concorde as soon as I got there! So glad I came to this school because not only did I get an education but I made some wonderful friends here too. I LOVE CONCORDE💙! This review is overdue. But I wanted to wait until I had been working in my field a couple of years to review. I graduated in 2019 with my LVN, and I was able to obtain my license in January 2020. I was well prepared. Passed my nclex on the first try. But I studied and I followed the direction the instructors and staff recommended to get there. Sometimes it felt like they were dragging us through the ringer, when it came to assignments, tests, clinical etc. But it was well worth it. I started my job confident in all of the basic LVN skills. Vital signs, GT, wound care, interpersonal relationships etc. This school taught me so much about myself. If you are considering a career change; or a jump start to your career. I highly recommend. But don’t go here thinking it will be easy. You WILL have to put in the work. Also another tip, communication is key. If you don’t let the school know what’s going on, they won’t be able to help you.Chynna Hooper

Garden Grove Concorde is what you expect out of a school. I love this campus. I enrolled here in 2006 for the Respiratory Therapist program and graduated in 2008. During the program, they provided all the resources i needed to get through all my courses such as tutoring, 1 on 1 help, and most importantly the most friendliest, attentive staff from the front the front desk all the way to the top. i would like to mention someone who has help through my toughest times, Lynda Carlos. When i was having trouble with my application process she would go out of her way to help me. She was like this with every student and every one of my class mates love her. Study! You have to take it serious. Show up, participate, study, study again. I graduated in 2019 Dec. There are some things that I wasn't clinically prepared for once I was on my own. So be assertive when doing clinicals and learn. If you drive be prepared to pay for parking everyday at campus! We had validations but it still cost about 5 dollars. The teachers I had were very knowledgeable and they change throughout the year. Also the teachers gave me references and even job recs.. When I say knowledgeable I mean in the field and nursing stuff not on teaching lmao!! I didnt give five 5 stars because they need a guidance counselor, I dont like one of the receptionist, one of my teachers was very brash, I'm missing some clinical experience, parking, and 3 people I know forsure didn't graduate or get licensed because they couldn't pass ATI. Coming to Angeles college was an amazing experience. MS Lopez was an amazing teacher, she was my MA/phlebotomy teacher every time I had trouble or I didn't understand anything, she would always work with me and help me understand the material. I don't know where to begin. Being frustrated and feeling as though I am giving the runaround, trying to get my diploma and trying to get my official transcript from a school that never answers a phone call during business hours. I never had to rely on a voicemail message to get back in contact with me due to miss understanding of phones calls. I have set up a payment arrangement back in May 2021, and I was told that if I miss a payment out of six months I will have to start all over again. I have been making payments and unfortunately was told that I missed three payments but look at my account and I see they're taking money out of my account. But still won’t give me my diploma. The staff is very rude and have not sympathy or compassion about the students other are trying to make something out of themselves in life. Talking to the staff is like hopping and excepting. Staff that not willing to work with you to try to help me. I've been only help by Miss Sherry, which I was told no longer works there. She's been the only person helping me getting my diploma and trying to get everything situated. I feel frustrated disappointed disgusted and hurt that I can't even depend on the school that I thought would help me succeed in life. This is hurtful and I would not wishes upon no one else. I work so hard live alone have no family here and you're telling me that I can't get any of my transcripts or I can't get my diploma because you guys messed up on your end and you're making me suffer which is not right and unacceptable. As much as I talk about you guys school and the staff that helps me and for someone to sit there and make me feel as though it's my fault is unacceptable. Question would you want to recommend a school to someone? For me at this point I will say no because I see that they're not even trying to help at all but take my money and won't give me my diploma or my transcripts I need to speak to someone and the corporate office as a CEO or CFO that can help meMoquatin Washington

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Every campus that I have spoken to someone on the phone has been rude and dismissive and not willing to help… I attended the nursing program in 2016…completed one semester…and had to withdraw from the second (before it started) because My son was having health issues. They told me to come back whenever I wanted that they would gladly accept me back into the program where I left off… which was absolutely not true! When I tried to go back….i was told I could be accepted into the current semester…Which would have been fine except….they were changing the curriculum the following semester…Which if I would have gone back would have forced me to start all over again…. Also, When I asked If I would be able to have a financial credit for the first semester that I completed because they changed the curriculum, I was told to speak with the head of the nursing dept and then she told me that was a question for financial aid who then referred me back to the nursing dept head…and they both said that they couldn’t help me. Don’t waste your time nor effort here. $24,000 down the drain for absolutely nothing! And not only that, But when you try to have your transcripts sent, it takes forever to actually get a hold of someone…and with the rude staff on the phone at every single campus it’s ridiculous!Melissa Kloess

I’m so happy I came across the Arizona College of Allied Health on google. I requested to receive more information about the college and not even a few days later I get a text from Justin. Justin was very nice and gave me so much information that helped me decide this was the college for me. Before I came here I was at Community Colleges for the last 5 years completing only prerequisites not even in a program yet. When Justin told me I would graduate next year in July getting my DA diploma I was beyond excited. I can’t thank Justin enough for all his help. I just got done with my first track passing all my classes. I could have not done it without Ms. Vosteen. She is the best teacher I’ve ever had at all the schools I’ve been to. I am going to miss being in her classes but I am so excited to continue my journey. The first class I took at ICOHS was parasympathetic massage with Karen Heine Zlatic, a patient, kind holistic health practitioner/teacher. I now think of her as the mother of massage. She is a perfect introduction to this school. Her energy is nurturing and the intention is set. This is a professional school, with heart and soul. The second class was circulatory massage with John Economos, a jovial teacher who starts each class with Brain Gym and leads each class with deep understanding of the body, humor and professionalism. Julia Plunket teaches all kinds of interesting classes on all things nutrition, herbs and supplements. With 40+ years of experience coming through with a clarity and confidence from hands on work helping people correct imbalances naturally, Julia is a wealth of invaluable knowledge. From Hugo Anguiano, I learned an ancient form of Ayurvedic massage. Hugo is a serious teacher with a great big soul that comes through his teachings and one cannot help but feel guided to do their best under his instruction. He offers a variety of modalities and energetic classes that I look forward to learning before my education is complete here. Currently, Martine Melilla is guiding a beautiful seasonal Women's Spiritual Journey. I heard fellow students chatting about her classes well before I experienced one for myself. Her reputation proceeds her. Martine brings an elegant island goddess energy into play. I am fresh out of my first day of this class and I want more. This is going to get good! The administration are competent and spiritual people, as well. Alison was my first point of contact. She always greets you with a great big smile and a hug. Veronica is here making this "house a home" away from home. You often are surprised with healthy snacks and drinks she sets out between classes and if ever you need comfort, a conversation, or to ask a question, Veronica is someone who is eager to help. All over ICOHS, you will find areas where student services has been thinking of some ways to soften the edges. Veronica's a busy bee, always looking to improve the students experience because as she says, "We wouldn't be here without You!". For me, who I share my energy with is important. I have found ICOHS to be a safe place to learn, with instruction and guidance from well educated instructors who are passionate and have time invested in their mode of holistic health. It is easy to feel the excitement the instructors have passing down their knowledge. I had previously attended 800+ hours at another holistic school that I learned so much good stuff from. I came to ICOHS with skepticism about how much more I could possibly learn. I'm thrilled to be getting a deeper knowledge, confidence, and understanding of how the human body works holistically. This massage and holistic healing school has been in Pacific Beach since 1989. They are state licensed, GI Bill approved (Vets welcome!). With SEVIS / Homeland Security Approval, they can write M1 Visas for foreign students. Holistic Health Practitioner, Massage Therapist and Massage Practitioner and Nutritional Counselor are only some of the certifications they offer. The massage clinic is run by students and if you want a deal on a massage, this is the place! On Monday evenings they offer free Vet massage and lecture/massage to the public. I graduated from CDI on June 2022! I passed my NCLEX on the first attempt with 75 questions! It was an amazing experience because of the friends I made along the road, helpful staff, and their financial aid! I graduated as a LVN from CES. I greatly enjoyed meeting some amazing people along the way, there are some great instructors, Ms. Holden is amazing with theory teaching, and Ms Adele and Ms Mariya are so helpful and full of information during clinicals. There were a couple teachers who came with some struggles, but nobody said nursing school is easy! I passed my NCLEX on my first try and felt the school did a great job preparing me, even during the struggles that came with finishing up in the middle of a global pandemic, the school did great to make sure we graduated in time. Incredibly unorganized!!! I called a week in advanced to schedule my assessment test. The clerk (lady) confirmed i was scheduled an appointment for 5:30 03/06/19. Sure enough i call an hour and a half to see if i can go a little earlier she then states no one was scheduled for an assessment knowing i had a long drive! If thats how they treat a potential student who is willing to invest time and money in this institution. I wonder how they deal with helping their students obtain jobs after graduation! CES College is a fantastic place to learn. Great teachers at an affordable price. Prior to completing the Massage Therapy Program I took the MBLEX Exam and passed it on my first try. I’m now a certified massage therapist in the state of California and I was able to do it at CES College for 1/5 of the price of the some of the other schools out there.
