20 Best 2 Year Nursing Programs In Charleston, SC (2022 Updated)

If I could give 0 stars I would because this school is not even worth one half of a star. From the first day I even considered attending this school to the last day I will attend I have told myself this was a HUGE mistake. I am an out of state student, on my first day of class no one told me where to go I didn’t even know who my instructor was. I was in the financial aid office in tears because I was so lost and no one cared at all. I was never given a tour of the campus and no one replied to my emails when I would ask questions in regards to the issues I was experiencing. On the student orientation day I was told I would receive a packet of information about the school along with a few other items they were giving out to the new students. I walked into the room it was being held in and not one person said anything to me. I sat through a 1-2 hour presentation having no clue what was going on. And this isn’t even the worst part. When I spoke with my financial aid advisor about getting loans for my classes, initially I was told I would be spending around 350 per class. Then when it came time for my refund to come back I was told that I owed over 1000 dollars in fees. Obviously being confused as to where that came from I called asking what was going on. I spoke with one of the only men in the financial aid department and he was the most rude person I have ever dealt with. I told him how frustrated I was and how confused I was about the situation and why I was being charged for that amount when I pulled out a 1500 dollar loan, and was told that amount would be plenty to cover my 2 classes. When I told him I was going to transfer to a school that actually cares about their students and not their money his response was (with a snotty chuckle) “that’s perfectly fine” he also suggested that if I want to save money then I should “get married faster to help cover the costs of your classes”. After swallowing my pride, paying the balance and continuing to take classes the same thing happened yet again except this time, I have been dropped from two classes for “not paying the balance in full” even though I have a payment plan set up and have paid my dues each month. I have been told that I am not allowed to transfer and that they will not give me my transcripts to do so. I have been told by the head person of the financial aid department that they don’t believe they are doing anything wrong because “we are just trying to get the money from you that you owe us” when describing to her how frustrated I was and how terribly I had been treated all she said was “I am only going to address the issue in regards to you owing us money” this school has a lot of work to do and I would never recommend anyone ever attend here because they truly only care about leaching off of the students and sucking them dry. I graduated from high school in 2012. The statics were stacked against me; African American girl, from a single parent home, childless, no criminal record and first to attend college in my immediate family. I'm a "mama's girl", so I wasn't ready to leave home. First, I enrolled at another local college. The institutions polices & procedures were extensive. This caused me to withdraw from the school in question. Central Carolina Technical College was the next school on my list. My transition into Tech was easy. The staff and faculty were welcoming, patience and encouraging. The course work assignment were realistic and allowed multiple chances to answer the questions correctly. Central Carolina likes to hire in house. I've been blessed to work 3 positions while enrolled in classes. After graduation I worked 2 more jobs as a customer service representative and a tutor at the college. My visit to Central gave me freedom to grow as a person. Life is what you make it. Get involved. Called financial aid between the summer and fall courses multiple times a week to get an update on my Financial Aid (dead-end job at the time) and they never answered. I put in for financial aid Mid-Summer semester and would call multiple times a week leading up to the beginning of the fall semester with my name, Student ID, and number to call back… They never responded. I was unable to get any of the books and by the time I was able to get them it was halfway through the semester? Guess what comes in? The financial aid I applied for 4 months ago and never got a call for an update that I requested easily 10 total times. I had to withdraw from all of my courses to prevent shattering any hopes of a GPA. Then they try to bill me for the money that FAFSA took back? They couldn't update me on when my money was coming in but they don't mind sending a letter, huh? This place is an absolute joke. I'd recommend Florence-Darlington or essentially any other tech school.Henry Miles, Jr.

I really like the flexibility of the online courses, the affordability and the variety of degree options they have. My advisors and teachers have been very great but communicating with the other staff at this school is very frustrating. The employees in the financial aid department are very rude and condescending and they hang up on you abruptly whenever they get frustrated with you. The registar’s office is by far the WORST. Very nasty employees in that department who talk down to you and treat you like a child. They seem to forget they work for a college, not an elementary school. One spent 10 minutes arguing on the phone with me just because I wanted my new advisor’s phone number and email. The “career counselors” offer no type of help or advice and they just tell you to “google it” whenever you have a basic question about a certain major. They are also very judgmental if you express a desire to finish with only an associates degree and not transfer to a 4 year, not considering not everyone has the financial means to do so. The call center employees are very disrespectful and seem like they want to find reasons to argue with callers. There are also huge issues with miscommunication at this school and everyone seems to have different answers about certain topics which causes a lot of errors. Certain departments are also not great about contacting back even after leaving numerous voicemails/emails. Overall I like the school itself but they need to either retrain the employees on basic respect and customer service or they need to hire new ones.Resident Anon

The teachers here are all outstanding and they make you feel like they want you to succeed. I have taken College Algebra, Biology and Spanish in the classroom and the instructors were all topnotch. There is also additional help available to students in the free math lab and writing centers as well as Spanish tutoring. The online classes are not that confusing but you do need to pay attention because sometimes you are required to take classes through third-party online textbooks via the access codes. The only problems I had were with transferring credits to the school and getting contradictory information from the financial aid office on one occasion. I do wish the school did a better job with advising students but I understand the logistics issues. Everyone at the hub is friendly and helpful! Use them they are a great resource. To all the people that left negative reviews, I would say "you get out what you put in". This is college and you get treated like an adult.Linda Brady

Mrs Jagal never cease to amaze me. I can’t count on her to get registered for the correct classes, motivation me, and share some knowledge on everyday life. She exceeds the title as an advisor and for that, I am forever grateful. She is authentic, sensible, and overall a down to earth amazing persons. Clean cut at its best. Given the shenanigans going on at most college campuses today, it was nice to see respect and professionalism on display everywhere. No ragged and torn clothing, no Rand McNally maps running up and down arms (tattoos) no steel dangling from noses, no pants hanging half off butts, one could feel pride in America and hope for the future when touring this vast and beautiful campus. A quick tour showed this to be a non-nonsense, education first, institution. Having been in the military, it did not take me long to figure out that the "fast walkers" were freshmen. They stuck to their designated walkways, off the sidewalks for the most part, walking at a fast clip with a pronounced gait, and making sharp right turns at the corners. We would go back in a heartbeat and you should too when you start to lose faith in America. Different uniforms but it reminded me a lot of Annapolis. God bless the USA.Jack

“The Citadel” is the Pride of the South! We have quite a few family and friends that are graduates of The Citadel. My son will be graduating High School in 2023 so we took time this Summer to visit colleges with our first stop here. Our Admissions Officer, Josh Simons (also alumni) gave an excellent presentation. If you’re not serious or dedicated to higher education and pushing yourself mentally and physically to be your absolute best, this isn’t the school for you! If you’re a leader or want to be and you have honor, understand duty, respect others and authority then you may be a candidate. I have confidence and hope my son will choose to be a cadet. He’s an athlete which will only add to a positive four year experience for him.Simone

I am about to graduate from here and this was extremely difficult. You have to be mentally tough to get through this. I’m not sure why this university is not more widely recognized across the United States. I am from the North East and some people have not heard of it. However, the lessons I’ve learned here are invaluable.Matthew Jones

Patient Care takes back seat to employee schedule Within a week I experienced unavailable care due to employee work schedule. Let’s call 4:00 to 5:00 pm the Non responsive hour at MUSC radiology department and response team. On Tuesday 9/13/22 I was having blood drawn at the Rutledge tower for my annual physical. I apparently fasted too long ( about 16 hours) and I passed out while the blood was drawn. I recovered with the help of 3 phlebotomists with ice packs and forced air. I heArd them call the MUSC response team to come check on me. A few minutes later one of the tech says the response team is not coming because it is 4:30 . They went home. I had no medical personnel check me over before I left which made me anxious about my condition but I had no alternative according to the phlebotomists. They did an admirable job looking after me and should be recognized and not reprimanded. The leadership of the hospital should be held accountable for creating a time window of no responsive teams for patients and visitors welfare. Today , 9/15/22 I had an X-ray order from my primary care doctor to X-ray my left knee due to a suspected torn ligament. I called the radiology department to make sure there would be techs to take an X-ray up to 5:00 pm. I was verbally assured that I would be looked after in radiology and have the X-ray taken. I checked in a 4:15 in Radiology in the Rutledge tower and told I will have the X-ray taken at 4:30. A saved screenshot of my confirmation from the receptionist records my check in and 4:30 X-ray. The receptionist who checked me in came to me at 4:20 to tell me all the X-ray techs had left at 4:00 today. I was told to come back tomorrow. Today I had gotten off work to come and get the X-ray. It’s disappointing that a reputable hospital and it’s departments cannot schedule their staff to be available to serve the patients with their reported skills. These problems start at the top and should be addressed by leadership and made to be held accountable. This reminds me that”The customer is not always right, but is always very powerful.” I’ll be happy to help MUSC fix its scheduling problems and help it look after it’s patients.Bob Kerr

The lack of care and compassion shown to a Person, Former MUSC Employee and My Mother is astounding to me. My Mother was placed in Hospice care on a Friday night discharged being a fall hazard and she transported by ems who didn't have a wheelchair on board. We had to borrow our neighbor wheelchair at 11pm to get Mother in the house. Hospice didn't have time to have any equipment for her which made the weekend so difficult for her. Then the awful doctor Matthew Kolher made the comment while bring students in the room he said "they eat all those fatty foods" meaning black people as her looked at my Mother. I moved her out of his care and the Hollings Cancer Center. She only returned after being told it was easier to treat her since her doctors were at MUSC. I had so many questions when reached the end of life, I called him 3 times and he nor his off returned a call regarding his patient. I know that MUSC doesn't care about most people or the patient care it's Doctor's and staff sells but this is unacceptable and if you are ever faced with needing compassionate health care please research before selecting MUSC. The lack of interest when calling was even worse. I know she was nothing to you and insurance wasn't great but she was my Mother and she she did he best and deserved better care treatment and respect than what was given by MUSC, Dr. Matthew Kolher Oncologist. Horrible hospital!!!! The doctors may know what they're doing but outside of that, this hospital is horrible!!!! My dad was at this hospital after having surgery and no one came around for days to wash him up. He was complaining to me telling me he was uncomfortable because he hadn't been washed since his surgery. Four days of passing, and he hasn't been washed! When I asked the nurse if they could wash him, she had an attitude. It's crazy, we're the ones that should of had the attitude. She tell me when she or someone get a chance, but that chance didn't come until late that next day. I went to an office there at the hospital to file a complaint and they take my complaint but tell me it's nothing they can do. I was crying because there was nothing I could do at that point to help my dad. The lady in the office confirmed that she get a lot of those same complaints, and that I should call the NEWS and report it. When I went back to my dad's room I saw the nurse, and still crying I got into an argument with her, and instead of understanding how I was feeling she called security and asked them to exscort me off the floor. Anyway, I'm from up north and I always thought the people in the south were caring friendly people but I guess I was wrong, well not at this hospital anyway.Alfreda Jones

A couple reasons why this is the worst academic experience you will ever have. First, the financial aid department, as well as the bursar are extremely incompetent at their jobs. The only two options for financial aid (according to the councilor I saw) if you are not a veteran or married to a veteran is a high interest loan that will start at 12% if you already have decent credit and will go up drastically if you do not. OR a parent plus loan that will somehow grant the school right to overturn FERPA (The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, meaning YOU have to disclose what information can be shared with parents/spouses/etc) and tell your parents information that is should be protected by this Law. Next. If you want to focus on your education this is not the place for you, ranging from once to three times a month, you will get pulled out of class to take surveys and make fake reviews boosting the ratings on google, and you will get bribed with candy. Staff members will go out of their way to talk to you for no reason at all, very disruptive if you are trying to actually study or do work. Depending on the program you pick your instruction may or may not be of help to you at your time here. Ms Dionesia Craven, spent more time during class hours yelling about the Medical Assisting students and calling them not so professional names (ghetto, ratchets), and would even insult students that had children. The times when she would not yell, she would only read notes off of a PowerPoint, and give attitude or make snarky remarks if you asked for clarification or help with work. If you do get the pleasure of being in her class, you will be better off if you are able to teach yourself outside of class. She is also very insensitive to life events, I can recall many times where I spoke with her before class about needing to leave early or needing to keep my cellphone due to medical problems, and it would turn into her raising her voice and trying to make an example out of me for situations I already spoke to her about. I do not recommend this school, you should save yourself the 23k and find a different school that teaches your desired program.Maria

This college is terrible. I’ll list everything that was done from the time I started there in August of 2021 till I left in March 2022 1. Admissions lied about the times for classes once clinicals started and about the timeframe for graduation 2. The program staff constantly argued between themselves and created an incredibly hostile work and learning environment 3. Lab times were split between the previous class and the new class which was over filled. We were lucky to get a few minutes a day in labs to practice. 4. Once it came time for clinicals to start they failed to assign places and times for all of us until less than a WEEK from when we started the actual clinicals. 5.Again I found the clinical times much to my surprise were not the same hours as our normal class schedule but would take up my entire day resulting in me having to quit my job 6.I started having mental health issues due to the stress and many of my classmates struggled as well. the staff made a one sided decision to change our class schedules for when we returned and said we would just have to make it work. 7. I finally started to give up on the program and stopped trying ti meet every expectation. As a result I was suspended and told I could try again the next go around. 8. not wanting to wait to continue my education I just decided to transfer to Trident tech. Well turns out the school isn’t recognized by any other college regionally so nothing I did while in the program mattered for my gpa or my degree.Damon Crowe

I really enjoyed the staff and the faculty at the campus. The night classes came in handy if you work full time during the day or if you have small kids to take care of. Also, with so many online classes it is much easier to handle the work/life balance and responsibilities. I like how clear everything is to understand, how the faculty are subject matter experts and work with people who need extra attention and extra patience as life can be challenging when juggling so much. The people in financial aid and the Dean are really good about answering questions and providing guidance and support. The class structures being one at a time in the semester and the small amount of people in the class help make it easier to have a relationship with the faculty. Don’t get me wrong, if you don’t study and you don’t focus, you will not succeed. But if what you want to do is get right to the point, work hard and get a job, this is the place to go. I know other people who have studied in different places and I honestly feel like when we talk about what classes I had to take and what material I had to study, I really feel like I got a lot more out of the experience than they did with theirs. After 2 stays in a hospital and trying one other place that didn’t work out, we thankfully found Indigo Hall. I live across the country and my sister lives in Charleston. Cricket called me at 9pm, went over details, met me at 9am the next morning, showed the rooms, talked me through the floor plans . Her and Greg then moved heaven and earth to rearrange furniture, get the medical screening done and keep us calm as the whirlwind happened! When my dad wanted the 1 bedroom instead of studio, Cricket and Greg then moved all his furniture down the hall, brought us lunch and made us feel so welcome and good about this transition. While my dad has only been there for a few days, he already seems to be settling in. I can’t say enough about Cricket, Greg and the whole team—I feel blessed to have Indigo Hall for my dad.director Friends In Deed

We are thankful for Indigo Hall. In the middle of this pandemic the Assisted Living Facility Mom resided in decided to shut the doors. We had a very short time frame to find the best Assisted Living fit for Mom to thrive. We visited numerous Assisted Living Facilities and knew Indigo Hall was the right Assisted Living for our Mom when we walked through the door. It just felt right. Everyone was friendly; we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Everyone answered all our questions and concerns including safety. Indigo Hall is an absolutely beautiful building. It is very evident now after only 2 months that Mom is thriving well under the Indigo Hall's loving care of all the staff. Thanks again Indigo HallJackie Dwyer

What a great experience, moving a loved one into this beautiful facility more like a hotel than assisted living! Greg and Cricket really went beyond the call of duty to facilitate a last minute move-in, providing furniture and extras which made my loved one feel special and cared for – even switching out beds right away when the size wouldn’t work! Although the facility is high end, the feeling from Greg and Cricket and the staff is one of caring for a loved one at home and a degree of respect for the caregiver I have not see elsewhere! The admissions experience was a lovely one, in line with the Indigo Hall concept of respect and dignity for this stage of life!Dottie Fulmer

I love it here !!!! I have been employed at BG nearly 4 years and I must say it's gorgeous. It's a great place to work. Best job I've ever had, honestly. We take great care of our residents. The Bishop Gadsden Community appreciates their residents and employees ! The administrator is down to earth and funny ! He's not snobby at all !!!! The pay and benefits are awesome ! My DON (Director of Nursing) Jonna, is just as awesome as the adminstrator ! They have scholarship programs as well as funds to help residents and staff/employees during their time of need ! Bishop Gadsden has rats. And feral cats. And for all I know, bats. Bishop Gadsden fires its best workers and promotes people who let others do their work. They in turn hire their family and friends. As a Christian facility, Bishop Gadsden is lacking in that regard. Something is bad wrong at Bishop Gadsden and I hope it gets fixed before I need assisted living. It is a shame because it used to be a first class facility. I only hope those fired file a wrongful termination suit.JR Hanks

My father has been a resident since 2010, or there-abouts, …since the death of my mother. The Bishop Gadsden Community is so welcoming, simply everything is a first class experience: The food in the restaurants, the caring staff, the follow-up medical support, the activities, from Happy Hour at Polly's Pub to political discussion groups to musical events. I was admitted to NHC for rehab after having sepsis and a seven day hospital stay. I was very weak and was there for physical therapy and to regain my strength. I found no evidence of a rehab facility, it was a nursing home. I suffered through one night of no sleep, the staff laughed and yelled and seem to be having a party at the nurses station all night long. Patients with mental issues cried out all night long. Patient room doors were all left open with TVs blasting and I was told the doors could not be closed. Pressing the call button yielded need little to no results. After one night, I left. The charge nurse became very angry, very rude and belligerent. She told me that I could not leave, that they use a skeleton staff on the weekends and there was no one there to take care of this and I would have to wait until Monday. I remarked that I was not paying a skeleton price on the weekends and that I was going home. I asked to take my medications with me and she refused until I signed some sort of a consent form.Then she said that she would give me my medications, but that I would have to wait one hour for them. As she made that statement, she was standing in front of the cabinet that contained the medications. She also refused to give them to me until she spoke to my personal representative. I said that I was my own personal representative. She insisted on calling my emergency contact, who is not a personal representative. She took my telephone for the conversation into another patient’s room and closed the door so I could not hear what she was saying.My emergency contact said she is not responsible for making my decisions and if I want to leave, then I am leaving. I was able to finally get the medication after speaking with the social worker. The woman followed me out to the car to confront me again. I have never had such a terrifying and horrible experience in my life. There was a total lack of empathy for patients. I caution everyone to avoid the NHC facility. As we were leaving, I could see that all the hallways were full of the same noise and confusion. There was no possibility for any rehabilitation there.Melinda Hester

I was trapped in that hole for almost 2 months, thanks to a car accident. The guy that ran the kitchen and my PT and OT representatives were really nice… But most of the nurses and their assistants were the worst people I have ever met. They rarely cleaned me and often left me un-wiped. At one point they tried to force me to wear diapers so they would not have to come back as often? As if they intended to leave me with a filled diaper? When you click the call button, there is no intercom and no one answers. In most cases they did not get to my room for 30 minutes and sometimes even longer… And in many cases they would just come in the room, turn off the call light… then say they will be back. If they do that, they never come back, so you have to click the call button again. After all of that, the worst part was the man that was supposedly running the place. he was a horrible person with a terrible attitude. He actually had the nerve to talk to me like they were doing me a favor, as if they were not being paid high dollars to attend to me. Finally, they have a dangerous practice of just leaving the front doors unlocked, far into the night. On more than one occasion, a delivery driver or just a random person looking for someone else, just barged into my room, unannounced and without any form of apology. If all of that is not enough to make you seek other accommodations, then just go find out for yourself… Good luck.Tony Santiago

Don't send your loved one here! I had to repeatedly complain about their lack of care there. Don't be surprised if your loved one starts losing weight as the dietitian prescribes a 2600 calorie intake per day Btw 2000-3000 is needed to maintain weight for the elderly . Besides that they exposed him to Covid … the facility has had it for months .They put him in the day room with no mask!! And yes he contracted it the next day! I discharged him and he is home with me now… I am convinced he can live longer here.!! My husband is a Vietnam Veteran and certainly deserves to be treated with more dignity. The 1st time I visited they had left in bed, not done his laundry so he was wearing a gown . I had to complain as they didn't do his nails and they were also filthy. They were giving him the wrong dosage of his Parkinson's meds for a month. Also the weekend staff is especially poor. No compassion ! Believe me I had meetings with everyone including the administrator!Sandra Taylor

From my visit’s to the RHJVA-Medical Center on January 20th and 27th. As of January 22, 2021 taken from the RHJVA-Medical Centers updates: I had an appointment today in Audiology @ 09:30 am, and to make sure I got there in time I had to leave early from Goose Creek @ 08:30 am, due to extreme traffic, obstacles and rainy weather. Arrived at 0910 am, not too bad. Parking is still easily accessible since the VA isn’t open fully. Checking in this morning through the ER, wasn’t too bad…the line wasn’t long, but moving. As for (SOCIAL DISTANCING) that was NOT adhered too…in fact a few of us politely asked fellow Veteran’s to SOCIAL DISTANCE themselves, but that only made things worse, and Veteran’s lashing verbally to shut our mouths because it’s their inherent right to be free. This is what the VA posting, and I quote “ “Situation Update – Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center 01/22/2021 08:49 AM EST COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Information VA is moving forward with expanding select services at facilities across the country. As we welcome Veterans back, we will continue safety measures including, but not limited to, physical distancing, environmental cleaning recommendations outlined by the CDC, face coverings for all, and staff and Veteran screening for signs of COVID-19 infection. Safe care is our mission and our continuing commitment to Veterans and staff. Veteran patients should enter the building no earlier than 15 minutes before their appointment time. Veteran patients should exit the building as soon as their appointment is completed. No Visitor policy continues with some exceptions for end-of-life care patients; no visitors under age 18. All individuals must wear face masks while on our campuses and in our facilities.” I’ll let the public view this after you view some pictures I took this morning inside the ER entrance and inside the VA. The VA Employees are fabulous and very patient, kind and understanding…they even gave people called (NAVIGATORS) who float throughout the BA to direct, assist, and do what they can for Veterans. It’s very sad that a majority of Veteran’s can’t follow simple rules and guidelines…but I’ll bet you all followed these rules and guidelines when you were on (ACTIVE DUTY) military. This place is a good reason veteran kill themselves, had a appointment for tension headaches that I've had since getting blown up in 2006 , the doctor told me I didn't have headaches, that I have a pinched nerve in My neck, that that the cause of my issues, yet I needed to get closer with my family and love ones.. my entire family is dead , so thanks doc I'll do that .. had another appointment today, I wasn't sure what clinic I needed to , the app or appointment tells you that , however I was 15 mins late running around this hospital trying to find the correct area .. seen the doctor walking back.into his office, told the front deck staff that inwas there to.see him, all.of a sudden he's got to go to a meeting and can't see me. Wants to reschedule for December.. told the lady at the desk about the issues with the app, she then says dang that's like a chicken sandwich without pickless.. this place is sad, i hate it everytime I have to.go.here for a problem ..Patrick Orth

Please improve parking- I am grateful for the services and my medical team is great. The parking situation is appalling. The parking lot design is poor. To block off already limited spaces for "special guests" is not honorable. Then there are tons of spots designated for volunteers. There doesn't need to be so many spaces for drop off. Please think about think about the patients. Finish the parking garage. Also revisit the parking lot that gives no room and is accidents waiting to happen. Also, please address staff who carry on with personal conversation. ENT check in and check out desk is especially bad, there are two woman who are always so loud and unprofessional. Not a great experience. Choose a private college. As a parent of a junior there are many disappointments. If your son or daughter is undecided about their major maybe this is an ok choice. But if they know what they want, send them where there’s a commitment and focus on major courses otherwise it’s a continuation of high school. Further, it seems Covid has become an excuse for a few things. Major classes in business marketing, that are online, taught by a professor in a foreign country without even a grade given at the midterm point doesn’t seem like a good thing. It feels like a complete rip off. A schedule with classes from 10 am to 7pm, really? Encouraging students to drop before a WD becomes an F feels like a rip off too and it is. Where’s faculty accountability? Where’s the administrative accountability? Further the ‘system’ for registration for courses and academic advisement is a joke. Honors, athletes, by academic year? Basically good luck getting a schedule you want. A focus on graduating on time? Doesn’t seems to exist. I could go on but I will not.Karen Smith

Stunningly gorgeous campus we discovered taking a detour from King St. in Charleston. Here on July 4th weekend so campus was vacant but the energy was still there. Every nook and cranny was a favorite "place" for someone as we explored for blocks and blocks of the college. No wonder graduates never leave Charleston.Allan Gruen

Of all of the colleges that I have worked for and attended as a student, this one is the worst. I was automatically enrolled for a course without expressing intent to enroll or them asking if that's what I would like to do. From there, they sent me books and materials without me knowing they were sent. If you apply, you had better be certain that you would like to attend or sign in and drop courses you didn't register for before you are stuck with a bill for courses you never even wanted registered for. I contacted them about this and for a "Christian" university, the employees sure are rude. I am now stuck with a bill for books that I didn't order, nothing but unpleasant correspondence with employees, and the recommendation that you go just about anywhere else for your education because all they care about here is getting your money. Their portal is the least user friendly system I have ever used and navigating it to figure out why I even had a charge and how much it was, was a pain! Go to a different college, a trade school, or skip it altogether. Whatever you do, don't bother with CSU.Katlyn Tracey

I feel bad for the workers though. The security and Allied Security are great people. My point is, with a more expensive university like this, the money goes into the buildings and parties than with some of the workers and classes there. That's why theres no growth of positive christian energy: the 'leaders' above the workers refuse to look at the livelihood of them. There are plenty of games and playful activities. But I'm more for the people and knowledge than silly activities taking the profit away from those who need to keep up with societies shift and changes. They ignore problems school wise and fills you with all this fancy stuff. Everyone has skeletons I suppose, but its severely wrong in my eyes to ignore situations that need to be confronted as adults, not people with suits to sit at a desk. People in charge should not act like those in the speech of "Pillars of Indifference". If you are going for kinesiology DONT DO IT, the teachers lack any sort of Christian principles or characteristics, or any sort of respect whatsoever, if you are going for psychology you will have the absolute best teachers in the world…..Spent 5 years here and had major health issues and surgeries throughout my time there, the kinesiology department didn't care or work with me in fact they had zero compassion so much so my doctor had to call them and they even treated him like trash, the psychology department was the total opposite and I will never forgot the compassion and care they showed me. They are the only reason I was able to finish my degree. So choose your route carefully, or just go to a state school they have more compassion than this "Christian" school does.Brook

Our son was excepted into Carolina Voyager 3 weeks before school started last year and we could not be any happier that we have found "our" school for our three boys! I don't think I have ever cried so hard when Tricia called me with the fantastic news. Carolina Voyager is everything we have ever dreamed for and so much more. We are so thankful that our other 2 boys will be joining the Voyager Family within the coming years and that they will get to experience this wonderful and exciting journey too! Carolina Voyager is an amazing school. The teachers and administration truly care about their students. The principal Dr. Walker knows each child by name, and even their parents. You can see how much the entire staff wants these children to succeed. We have a student in first grade and he has grown so much in the past 2 years. He is always excited about school, and learning. We can't wait for our other 2 kids to join their older brother at Carolina Voyager. We couldn't have made a better decision about our children's educational future.Christopher Wells

We've been with Voyager for 1.5 years now and there's not a single negative thing I can say about this school! The office staff are friendly and accommodating, the teachers and principal are phenomenal, but the things that impresses me most are the parental involvement and sense of community. We have a diverse student body and the families are all so welcoming and open. It truly feels like family when I, as a parent, step onto the CVCS campus. Just left here and wanted to leave a review. I honestly thought this place was bigger. It is really small compared to the other children museums I have gone to. There are also limited things younger children are able to do here. Their grocery area was the only area my daughter really enjoyed. They have a huge space for painting and arts and crafts which is good but thought they could’ve done better with that area. Their outside area is pretty basic as well. Wish there were more interactive things for children to do. Although the space is small their they can definitely improve and utilize their space more. Pricing was pretty reasonable for a family of 3 and they do offer 10% military discount as well. I don’t think we will return back here though unfortunately. My kids, 8 and 10 years old, loved this museum! There's an art room (where children can create freely, draw, paint, play with magnets or with colorful sand), a pirate room, a supermarket, a medieval castle, a water room that teaches evaporation, condensation and precipitation and how to light up the city through turbines in a dam (so fun for kids to see it all so clearly!), and a big outdoor space. There's also a separate spacious room for kids 3 and under. $30-some dollars for 4+ hours of playing&learning was money very well spent!Alessia Mogavero

Great inside place to take my 1 year old while in Charleston. They have a good sized area with a lot of toys for toddlers. The grocery store was a hit. The grocery store has carts, check out lines, and groceries for kids to put in their carts. I think it is really best for ages 1-8. You could spend 1-2 hours here. Visited on

This nursing home was a blessing to our family. My mother in law was a diabetic both legs amputated, dementia, and a host of other ailments. She could no longer live at home. Not knowing how to research at the time and who to call, a company recommended Mount Pleasant Manor to us. I called and by chance the administrator of the facility answered the phone. He answered all my questions and made the entire process seem less. He directed us exactly on how to admit her. Mr. Bruce and his staff made everything so easy and took the stress and burden off the family because we had no other recourse. Fast forward, my mother in law has been here for 7 years. And the entire time, this facility has provided the ultimate care for my mother in law. The facility is not just a skilled nursing facility, they offer so much more. We love how the residents are treated. They have events, trips, special holiday services and other activities for the residents. My mother in law was an avid bingo player and knew the days it was held. She got her hair and nails done faithfully in their full service salon. This facility makes the transition for your loved ones as easy as possible and they are very active in the resident lives. The nursing staff has quarterly meetings with the family to keep you updated on care, medications, and any concerns you may have. The physical therapy staff are very detailed in providing care and makes sure the family is aware of the residents progress. I can keep going on and on, about Mount Pleasant Manor…… They took care of my mother in law until she passed away, she was a resident for 7 years and not one time did we have a complaint. Any concerns or questions we had, we could always contact Mr. Bruce, the administrator. His door as well as director of nursing door is always open. To the entire staff at Mount Pleasant Manor, thank you for 7 faithful years of ultimate care for my mother in law Mary. You are all like family to us and we greatly appreciate everything that was done to make her feel like home .DM Frasier

My brother is a resident at Mt Pleasant Manor in Charleston, SC. I live in Atlanta, GA as a result I am not able to visit him on a very regular basis. That said I rest easy at night knowing that my brother is in a safe, secure, clean and professionally run facility. Recently, Mt Pleasant Manor had to evacuate its residents to avoid hurricane Dorian. Shortly after they arrived at their safe location I received a call from the director Mr. Bruce White. I was impressed given the fact that there are over 130 residents in the facility that the director made time to speak directly to the family members assuring us that our loved ones were safe. There is much more. The facility is always sparkling clean – thanks to the maintenance staff. I have also received phone calls from the nursing staff informing when my brother had to be rushed to emergency. Finally, I treasure the quarterly Care Plan meetings wherein my brother’s care plan is reviewed. On occasion, when I am unable to travel to Charleston, I am included in these meetings via telephone calls. This is a blessing. Thanks Mt Pleasant Manor, thank you so very much!!! After serving as the Director of Social Services for Mount Pleasant Manor for seven (wonderful and very fulfilling) years, I'm now on the reverse side as the family member of a loved one there. I can honestly say that the same care, compassion, and loving attention that I witnessed as an employee is now shown to my family member. When deciding the best possible placement for my Grandmother, no other facility ever crossed my mind. Despite the "newness" of other facilities, and the "bells and whistles" that come along with them, my main concern wasn't the flashy decor of a sitting area or the size of a flat screen, but the genuine regard for my Grandmother as not just a patient, but a loved one. I feel absolutely comfortable and at ease with having her at Mount Pleasant Manor and know she is receiving the best care possible, while being treated as a family member, not just a number. The education and overall experience at this school is good. As a warning to prospective engineering students, this school is not ABET accredited which could potentially greatly limit your career options depending on the field you go into. This information is not advertised to potential students. The attention given by most of the faculty is excellent especially the directors. My review consists of 3 stars due to the financial aid department. Following the completion of my degree nearly $350 of mysterious charges were added to my account. Part of this was due to an IPad I wished to purchase but was never sent the proper documentation so I was automatically charged a full amount. I have attempted to make contact over the course of 3 months and have managed to speak with a person two times. During both of these conversations the person was not able to provide an explanation for the charges. The department has never returned a phone call or responded to a voice-mail. Luckily for me the school shipped my diploma and provided a digital transcript even though I refused to pay this amount. I definitely have gotten the impression that once their money is made and you're done, they don't care about you anymore. I will be attaining further education elsewhere.Sebastian Stimpson

I always known that I wanted to be a nurse. I took years before I was allowed the opportunity to attend nursing school. I started at Trident Tech but was not happy there with the program. Then one day I was riding in my car and heard a add about ECPI. I immediately called and made and appointment. Within a month I was a student on my way to having my dream job. I can honestly say it wasn’t easy but it was well worth it. I became a nurse in 2016 and ECPI was the best decision I ever made in reference to my career. My whole experience has been incredible. Veterans make up a sizable portion of the student body, and the college is notably veteran friendly. This college has provided me with several opportunities to develop and expand my knowledge via my studies (Cyber Security-Cloud). Professors are extremely supportive, devoting their time and skills to assist students with learning course material. The professors take the time to get to know you, which makes a significant difference. The small class sizes foster an environment conducive to hands-on learning and collaboration.Lucinda Anderson

I have been with this amazing company for 5 years. My experience is very personal. We aren't numbers to this company we are family. 2 years ago I lost 2 family members in the same week one on Wednesday and the other Thursday. This company called and said if you need anything let us know. I told them no I was ok. They immediately sent food and flowers on behalf of the company. I was so appreciative. The staffing manager and the recruiter in this office are the nicest people I have met in any staffing agency. They didn't just send me all the information I needed to get started working, but they took the time to understand just what I was looking for. Very nice place great activities and learning tools..my experience was nice going in but cold leaving..One employee was displeased with cleaning rest room behind my son..She took me outside the center repremended me on what and how I should send info on a folder they send..that I didn't receive and how she clean behind him twice a week…long story insead of meeting with me I am outside the center with their arrogant employee instead of a meeting inside to discuss what's going on…I took my son out a week..several weeks went by March 6 got a call on my birthday on the freeway driving..released..said he spread mess in every..stall..yet their employee said she goes in with him…(think) well no mess here ..no mess at any other centers he attends..but that employee ask to go in the bathroom with him..and took a dislike to me..I thought they clean behind special people but the director said she can't lose her employee..She said she give my son thirty days and then told my case worker no she needed her workers so I guess they run the show..but I was lied to..waited almost a month to send him back..To be told pretty much he's kicked out .He rides everyday to a new location no issues….my issue is not with the center it's beautiful..it was how I was handled..God bless this New Truly Active Care Center it's wonderful it's what people need I waited for years…My issue was one Employee with too much power. While driving down Rivers Ave, North Charleston today around 5pm, I was rather alarmed to see one of your “Horizons” vehicles WEAVING in and out of traffic today. Sandwiching itself between 2 cars going over 60 mph. Personally, if I had a family member in the care of Club Horizons, I wouldnt want them on that bus. I truly hope there was nobody on that bus and that they didn’t have to suffer at the hands of the driver. Next stop, the morgue. Other than that, I’m sure it’s a pleasant place.Hannah Varden
