This school is literally the best school i've ever gone to (and i move quite often) from the bottom of my heart, if there was a 6 star option i would choose it! Everyone is apart of a big happy family here, and is very accepting to all LGBTQ+ members, religions, and races. Although there will always be some drama (like all schools), it's not a big deal, and usually resolved fast. There is also plenty of scholarship and exhibition opportunities, so it is competitive, but in a light-hearted manner. I LOVE FAC! JOIN OUR FAMILY!Emma Grace Reynolds

People are nice and welcoming. I go to school here and I can't say anything bad about is expect some traffic sometimes bc of Wade Hampton high, which is close by.sad fish

BEWARE. AREA IS NOT SAFE. There needs to be security patrols or policemen in the area. I was taking my ASVAB test there around 3 pm. I come back to my car only to find out my catalytic converter had been stolen in the parking area in broad daylight. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that had to deal with theft on that day. Please reinforce security patrol, cameras, and policemen in the parking area so things like this don’t happen to others who are planning to visit and take tests there.Savannah Jenkins

NGU Exposed- From an Alumni NGU offers a lot to students that may have little to no spiritual background. They are known for leading people to Christ, and helping them to grow. If you were to ask me if I would donate money to NGU? The answer would be no. The stewardship of the money they have received in the past is highly questionable. The former president has been rumored to be in trouble for embezzlement. If you were to ask me if I trusted the faculty and staff at NGU with my children? the answer would be mostly yes, but I would proceed with caution. The Student Services staff hovers over students and looks for opportunities to have them kicked out so they can still keep the money for the student being at the school while still collecting the financial revenue of the student being enrolled. Multiple staff members have been fired in the previous two years due to infidelities (including speculation that this is why the president resigned). One of the Faculty was a counselor on campus and was sleeping with the student that they were counseling. With all this, the professors are incredible. They care about the students, and setting them up for succes. not so much for the staff. Does Christ really make the difference at NGU? No. It doesn't. It's a nice front, but in reality, the staff (not faculty) is inflated with this idea of spiritual pride that leaves students more turned off to Christianity than rather leading them to God. I would not send my child to NGU if I had a say so in it. NGU served a purpose, but unless you are studying a Christian Studies degree, it's not the place to be.Invisible Crusader

The initial impression is that North Greenville is a friendly campus. The lasting impression is that North Greenville is a friendly campus. In no other environment have I experienced such kind, sacrificial service. Faculty and staff put others before them. The academic life is not meritorious of highest prestige, but it is better than the average university. The smaller classes allow students to have discussions and actually learn something rather than fall victim to academic bulimia. The student life is not the most exciting, but the purpose of college is not to party. There are rules that can seem overbearing, but are protective. If students were allowed in girls' dorms, I would have never attended class. Overall, I loved my time spent at NGU and the school is very deserving of a 4 star rating.Ryan Woodring

The friendly faculty and staff are great. Dr Epting is a president who really does care for his students. He remembers what's happening in your life and is always more than happy to give you a hug (my type of guy). The education was great, not quite excellent. The Youth Ministry program needed a little help on fair grading (some of us were well more prepared for speeches and assignments and would receive the same grades as though who were definitely not). But the overall education was great. The English department was intense (the couple classes I had to take). The campus is beautiful with a great view. Didn't stay on campus, was too far out of the way, easier to drive when I had class. Would highly recommend it to those looking for a great education at a great price.Tory J Almond

Beautiful campus grounds for those who want a scenic hike, attached to the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Great for taking scenic pictures, walking the dog, or admiring the Georgian architecture. Public restroom available, multiple trails, a lake, streams, a bell tower, fountains, etc… will be back to explore further for sure!Christina

Not a student, but we went for a very enjoyable walk around campus with our dogs. The campus, especially the lake, the koi ponds, and rose garden, is very pretty and we enjoyed how there was parking near Swan Lake. GTCHS is one of the Best public charter schools in SC. They have a fantastic principal who has a heart for the students and the communities that they represent. The new New Tech learning is not effective at all. The tablets only create problems and it takes a while for those problems to be fixed. How is a student supposed to complete their work if they do not have the right tools? The group-centered learning is also a failure. Overall, the school is okay. But the administration are no help. I've waited two weeks just so my information can be fax to my new school ( It should never take that long ). Looking over the reviews for this private christian school I am shocked. I do not see how so many people could have had a negative experience here, unless it was because of other students they crossed paths with. I went to the Academy as a part-timer for my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I cannot express with words the impact this place has had on my life. The teachers were extremely helpful to me in getting the grades that I did. The only reason that I can think of that I got bad grades is because of my own neglect to study. Won't say that Honors Biology was the hardest class I ever took, or that writing the research paper in English 11 nearly killed me, because neither one is actual truth. Though the research paper did come pretty close… (: I want to personally thank the Bible teachers that I had for the teaching and explaining of the Bible, especially the Bible course on different religions and how to witness to them. Bob Jones Academy, thank you. Thank you for the wonderful education. Thank you for the godly instruction. Thank you for the teachers, who daily encouraged us in our relationships with God. im a senior and a athlete at hampton park, which is about 10 minutes away from bj and our schools out rivals. most of the 1 start reviews such as emily priest and morgan griffin (who was an athlete, not a parent) and a couple years ago, i would have share their opinion that bob jones is a terrible awful place. but as ive matured, interacted with students outside of sports, and interacted with their coaches, ive realized that it’s not the terrible awful place i thought it was. in the heat of basketball games, both sides of our rivalry have done things that i think we would regret, and ur always gonna have a negative opinion on a rival if u don’t think about them as real people. from what ive experienced off the court, most of there students are genuinely nice people and genuine christans. every school is gonna have their bad apples, but an entire school shouldn’t be judged by one kidJosiah Gearhart

We have sent both of our children here in lieu of public school. Thus far, we have zero regrets especially in the day and age we are living in and especially through the pandemic. Comparatively speaking to other schools in the area, our children missed very little in classroom time throughout the pandemic. The teachers care about the best interests and learning of the children. Any concerns I’ve had have been minimal and have always been addressed by the teacher or principal in a timely manner. I love that our kids are getting a firm Christian foundation to stand on in such confusing and dark times. This may not be the most fancy, technologically advanced school in the state, but I know my children are well taken care of and receiving a good education when they are there. Best money we’ve spent on our kids hands down.Gina F
