20 Best Vet Tech Programs In Salt Lake City, UT (2022 Updated)

This is a mixed bag. I have to give CSI a 5 star rating on their staff and faculty. Everyone I've encountered in my classes and different buildings has been super nice and helpful. Also the campus is gorgeous, and my family and I love walking here. That said, I give them a 0 star rating on community safety. They have no mask policy and students and staff are not required to wear masks. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and Idaho is one of the hardest hit states in the country. CSI is doing nothing about it. As a student, I feel unsafe in my classes where almost all students are unmasked and many of them are coughing and hacking. Honestly, I'm scared.Charles Baudelaire

Good stepping stone for starting college. Cheap tuition, small class sizes, and just about all my teachers were extremely knowledgeable and professional in their classrooms but knew when to be authentic as well. My only complaints are mainly what you'll get on every other college campus. A bad professor here and there, internet goes down a few times a semester, due to the size scheduling especially for non-traditional or full-time students can be difficult. However, overall the professors and administrative staff are polite and eager to help.Stephen Wells

My College of Southern Idaho experience was a wonderful one. As a non-traditional student, I enjoyed the many courses I took and the professors and teachers who made it possible. I majored in music and know that the music and drama departments offer an excellent program with much individual attention that is lacking in universities and larger schools. CSI gave me the background to be able to go on to earn both a BA and and MS at other schools.Julie Haux

i came in for one reason to get job after graduation been going on two yrs feels like high school classes. Im a criminal Justice major and i like program except one huge thing it needs more hands traning so you prepared for the job once you graduate and not have move on for four degree and they need to have dorminties to live on i hardly see people on campus it almost empety they have two many campuses they need to have one and the paint falling off the school. I hoping i graduate and get job in but i feel unprepared to due the classes they made to if i knew this i would have gone out of state because these tech schools are scam been at midlands tech for my associates in arts degree if i was going for a different major i would be more thrild they have good health science program that gets job as soon as graduate due to the clinicals and broad certification test. some classes have been cancled to there harldy many students in eithermichael mcdaniel

The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I am thankful for you all. Anyone who wants to go to college for Business or just in general, go to SJVC. They got you covered and they support your every step and decision. They help you become ready for excellency and, help you find a job that you will love and if that job doesn't work out for you they will go over and above to help you succeed and find a position you want and love. I'm in the midst of the program and just love it!! The teachers and staff are fantastic and it feels like they have become my extended family. They care and want you to succeed. They offer many resources to help if you hit a road block. It's a very professional environment and they continue to train you on maintaining professionalism. Attending SJVC has been a wonderful experience for me. The overwhelming support, love and time that everyone spends on their students is immeasurable. My instructor Dr. Warman is an angel. I am currently in the vet tech program( just finished term 1 and starting term 2) here are a few things I wish I knew about the program before I started. UPDATE!!! STRONGLY suggest getting your generals done else where!!! Almost done with term 2 and Looking back, the program would be soo much easier if you were just taking the vet core classes. Seriously.. if you are really thinking about going here fresh out of high school and think you are going to be fine with the work load you are in for a rude awakening.. just please take my advice and get your generals done somewhere else. You will actually enjoy your time here if you are just taking the vet core classes because the vet related classes and the generals work load at the same time is extremely stressful because again you will be taking roughly 20 credit hours( that’s general classes and vet core classes) AND the material is very rushed. -curriculum is extremely rushed -instructors are a hit or miss (3/5 instructors were really great and knew what they were talking about and we’re able to explain really well, other 2 did not know the material and did not know how to effectively teach/explain/ or answers any questions about the material they were teaching. Pretty much had to self teach in both classes) -the parking situation is a hot mess. Parking on campus is extremely limited and the street parking is a joke. -The remediation assignments (Student services assigns you an extra assignment on top of your homework in whatever class for being 15+ minutes late or missing the class or leaving 15+ minutes early ie. Handwritten 100 bullet points on the slides of the power point you missed. The instructor then has to sign off on it and you turn it into student services no later than 1 week of the absence/tardy) is extremely unnecessary and just adds more stress. -But all in all still a better program than any of the other schools I was looking into before I started the program. I’m still loving what I am learning about and the hands on labs are amazing. My classmates and I are extremely close and working together and helping each other study is a must to succeed in every class. If you do find yourself struggling there are so many resources the school provides to help you ie. free tutoring from a peer tutor, tutoring from your instructors per request via emailing them. Scheduling an appointment with the Student success coordinator (helps you plan your study schedule and helps with testing stragies). Just know this is a tough program because it’s rushed and you WILL be taking anywhere from 12-20 credits hours. ( this is decided based on if you have transfer credits from other colleges ie. math 1010, Biology1010, college writing, etc. I was taking 20 credit hours. I did not choose this, your schedule will be chosen for you by the school) and you will be eating, living and breathing veterinary medicine for the next 2 years. ( also I want to add that it is STRONGLY recommended that you DONT have a job. At least in 1st term. In orientation they go more in-depth about this. A lot of my classmates including myself quit our full/ part time jobs after 1 month in the program because it was too much) If this is something you think you can handle then it is definitely worth it!Kaitlyn Hart

This school has all the technology you could ever want, and provides a lot of support. I wish I could have afforded to go there. That’s the only downside, is the really high price. I should add, the price is high for a reason. They buy top of the line technology to teach their nurses and vet techs (those are the only things I’ve seen myself, and I am 100% sure they put the money into their other programs, too.) My current financial situation makes the school unaffordable, but the price is 100% worth it. I was going to make myself afford it until I was told about a deposit. I WAS shocked by the $400+ deposit they required during orientation (for the LVN program.) I wasn’t told about it except less than a week before orientation. There was really no iltime for me to prepare. My financial aid advisor, Vanessa, was AMAZING and tried everything to make the school more affordable. My academic advisor, Nikia, was the BEST. She really helped to make me feel comfortable and helped teach me more about the program.Jessica Laroche

The program I was in (vet tech) was great for the most part! However there was a lot of bumps in the 2 years and disorganization when I was there. Teachers were a hit or miss you could get a great one and would love that class, or you would get one you dreaded and never wanted to go to class. Being the first class to graduate from that program we didn't get all the amazing equipment that the students have now. This program over all is a great experience because when you are struggling or need help you can find teachers always doing tutor sessions or the LRC always is willing to help you learn things as well. they are doing the best they can to make sure things run smoothly from now on. I would recommend this course now because it seems like things will run smoother now that they learned from passed mistakes with my class.Allison Kunic

(For reference, I am a first-generation college student, have a learning disability, and a physical disability.) TMCC sets students up for success. I have had a very positive experience both as a student and working for the school. I will be finishing a dual-degree sooner than expected. Most of the professors are great, and everyone in the humanities department is amazing. Most of the staff is very professional and able to well-inform students of what classes to take and what services may benefit them. On top of this, the school also offers free tutoring and mental health services. As a first-generation college student, I feel TMCC has helped me at every step of the way to succeed. With only 8 classes left to take, I still have a cumulative GPA of 4.0 despite doing relatively poorly in high school. As long as you put in your best effort, teachers will do everything possible to help you succeed. If you do not put any effort in and expect a handout, then it will be extremely difficult to succeed. If you attend this school make sure to take advantage of any and all resources as well as putting in your own effort… you will not regret it. I recommend TMCC to anyone and everyone.Rove Plant Eater

This is a tremendous school with a caring and compassionate staff and faculty. This school has afforded me so many opportunities that I wouldn't have otherwise received without them. When I got to Reno, I was homeless. I arrived with two suitcases and less than $100 in the bank. I was staying with a friend and making very little money. I found myself in a situation where I worked hard labor job after hard labor job, trapped in a vicious cycle of injury and poverty and no clear view of how to exit my situation. In the month of December 2014, I walked into the offices at TMCC. In less than a year, I have found employment, I'm less than a year from finishing my degree and I am a Dean's list student. I had it in my head that I wanted to succeed and I was fortunate that this school wanted to help me to do exactly that. The teachers were compassionate and patient. The staff was courteous and helpful. I owe a great deal to this school because it has taught me more than academics. It taught me to be a better person.Brandon Canty

Don't listen to the bad reviews, everybody has a different experience and different perceptions. Ive taken at least 20+ classes over 12 years, I love tmcc. It's a good community college in every way. I attended here on and off from 1999-2012. I learned how to teach step aerobics from the greatest fitness instructor imo Verna Lewis. I took many general ed classes as well as a few paralegal courses and a ton of fitness classes as well. The campus is beautiful, many bathrooms with free sanitary napkins if needed, the vending machines are reasonably priced. The classes are very fair priced. It's a wonderful school and a WAY better option then a vocational school. eg: Realtor school online vocational school $600+, Tmcc Realtor program $50-100.Rachela Reno Rocks

I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

Not a fan of this place but sadly do not have many options in my area staff say they are always there yet when you need them seem to be nowhere to be seen I called numerous times and non stop to a woman named Kim Ford she would never answer an I couldn't get a hold of anyone she was very rude an when I tried to drop the class felt like she was bullying me an teasing me for the reason she took a private matter an made it into a joke as I read her notes she sent to the other staff who work there. I felt embarrassed and violated that she would turn a private matter into a joke…and I also thought it was very convenient for her to finally answer her phone after the time was up that I would be charged for dropping the class…she is very uptight snarky and has a giant ego. The other staff seemed to be ok so no problems but they just seem annoyed to help youRyan Earl

Dealing with the staff here is difficult sometimes. I was supposed to start this past fall semester, and was told for three months via email that I was ready to go and that all I need to do was come down and register for my classes. I ended up waiting until the last day (which is my part of the fault in this, I should've gone sooneer) to go down to register for my classes. I sit and wait for two and a half hours, which I understand, they were busy. Then I get back to the advisor and she tells me there is a $20 transcript review fee that I haven't paid, and that because the registrar left a half hour ago while I was in the waiting room, I now could either pay my tuition out of pocket, or not go, even though I had the $20 for the fee in my hand. Professors and Assistant professors always want you to succeed. The financial aid office will do whatever they can to help you when you ask. There is always something fun happening on campus. The best part are stress dogs during finals week!! It is a great place to take classes to transfer to other colleges.Stephany Lundy

Think twice before attending this institution. I was enrolled to begin classes in the fall semester. One week before they began, DCTC contacted me saying they no longer offered the program that I signed up for. Again, ONE WEEK before classes began. This left me almost no time to scramble around looking for another school to attend for the fall semester. That kind of behavior is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. The whole process just felt off anyway. They were always slow to respond, they fought every step of the way when I presented transfer credits from another institution. I was somewhat relieved in a way knowing I wouldn't have to deal with them any further. What a waste of time.Adam

Didn’t have the best experience overall. The instructor for the automotive technology class was only genuine once while he was teaching me something. Every other time, there was sarcasm and rudeness when trying to ask him questions. Not to mention half of the kids (quote “kids”) in the class were constantly on their phones and messing around. I wouldn’t have minded, except that we were placed in groups, therefor graded as a group. I wouldn’t return for the fact that I learned more working 3 months on the job than I did going 6 months to school, not to mention it was paid for.Sebastian Dina

Received my second degree here and they accepted a respectable number of credits from a previous college. Someone from admin called me a year or so after graduation and asked if I had gotten anywhere with my degree. When he found out what I was doing and where I had gotten in life he nearly dropped the phone. Thanks DCTC for sending me places in life I didn’t think were possible. Went to Trilogy beauty salon for a haircut and hair color appointment. Student did a really nice job on both. All the students were dressed professionally They were wearing nice looking smocks unlike some other beauty schools were they wore whatever they wished Trilogy salon uses very high quality products which is appreciated Students do take more time completing a hair cut or hair color Instructors are there if they have any questions and everything they do is looked at by the teacher Students gain valuable experience there Highly recommendedKathy Salm

Affordable for gen eds but for a technical college they have some of the worse tech issues I have every seen my I have seen middle schools with better technical support. Do not take there advice on what laptop to buy since I was told to buy a Microsoft brand laptop but I needed to add every chrome extension needed to even access half the course material. I had to ask my instructors to use my personal email only since I could send emails through my school one but could not read any of the instructors emails.Gunfire Productions

Let's just say I'm no spring chicken. I got my Industrial electrical apprenticeship at the age of 46 and at the age of 50 I graduated. It was not an easy thing for me. But the program was excellent and they gave me alot of skills I use everyday at my job. Some days I think I should have tried fitting the instrumentation specialist into my schedule some how but with work hours it wouldn't have work. Id say they have everything you need to succeed at FVTC, because if I can do it at my age anybody can there!Heath Mischke

Would not recommend. I can't speak to the instructors since I never made it that far, but the staff needs a refresher course on office management. I work in an admin office and if I ignored customers as I was ignored by this college I would have been fired a long time ago. I had my former colleges send my official transcripts in April which both confirmed that they had. I asked in June and in July where we were in the processes. The only answer I received was that "we can't find them" and asked if they were submitted under another name. I had told them multiple times that they were submitted under my maiden name as I was not married when I received other degrees. No response. So I had them resent. There was no response. So after 24 hours I emailed both the registrar's office AND the email designed specifically for transcripts and did not hear back again. When I went up and emailed everyone in the admissions office suddenly they found my transcripts and my transcript hold disappeared like that. And then afterward, suddenly I received a response to one of my emails and the person I was speaking to was quite snippy with me saying that she "got to it when she could" although I had been inquiring for 2 MONTHS about the status of my transcripts. Fortunately this was going to be my first semester and I have enough time that I found another distance education vet tech degree from another college. I won't be registering for classes with Cedar Valley after this whole thing honestly its NOT worth it. Also, there is NO requirement to meet with an advisor and no one point of contact for Distance Education students. Their instructions for registering for classes are confusing and even inquiry emails were met with silence. Also it feels the admissions office was supplying contrary information on how to enroll in vet tech classes in the first place! If you're looking for a distance education vet tech program I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you going elsewhere. You'll just get frustrated here. I would give 0 stars if possibleAmy Shumway

I'm going to be fair and admit that the teachers I've had have been the most helpful, inspiring, and kind people I've ever met. Unfortunately I can't say the same for most of the staff up front. Most of the staff are rude and unhelpful, constantly running you in circles like they have no idea how anything works. The advising staff are very unhelpful as well. Patty Soper-Shaw placed me in two wrong classes my first semester, and admitted to me she had no idea about any of the technology courses I was trying to take. Because of that, I'm now left without the hardware course I needed to take before the software one which leads me to this biggest problem I have with this college. DO NOT TAKE TECHNOLOGY CLASSES HERE! It's a dead end. A majority of classes never have enough students to make the class work, so they're constantly being dropped. The dean of the technology department, Mr. Johnson, came to our class at the beginning of the Fall 2017 Semester to tell us our class is cancelled. He even admitted that the technology classes there are failing tor receive enough students for the classes, and apparently it's been that way for the past 10 years! It's to the point where my degree is absolutely useless, and because of the constant cancellations and mess ups between staff and advisers, my life is now behind because I can't even get a simple certification or degree. I've been at this school for three semesters, and after my class getting cancelled again, I've decided to finish up this last semester and move onto another college. This school is the most unorganized, uninformative, and misleading place I've ever been to. I'm not the only student this has happened to either. I've spoken with many at that school who have suffered from the same problems I spoke about. This school has been a nightmare to go to and get anything done at. Awful experience. The advising staff were rude and unhelpful. Registration staff were extremely unhelpful and contradictory. After being led in pointless circles and constantly receiving contradictory information about required forms and materials, I was finally able to meet someone who understood what was going on (after talking with at least 4 different registration staff members). By the time everything was sorted out, the classes were filled up. The advising staff members are not accommodating, interrupting, and very accusatory. It should not be on the customers shoulders to filter through constant contradictions just to apply to the school. I did follow and submit the required material stated online. Apparently, the material submitted was no acceptable and I had to jump through many hoops and complete many tedious tasks just to be told it was all pointless and I didn't even have to do any of the "required" forms or tasks. Honestly, I just felt like I was wasting my time doing pointless tasks when most, if not all, of it could have been avoided. By the time all my information was processed, I had finished applying/enrolling, getting advised, registering for classes, and paying for the classes at a different community college. This was the most unorganized, confusing, drawn-out process I've ever had to go through for any college admission. Wasted so much time throughout this process. Oh, did I mention that no one knows how to pick up the phone? Called at many different points in time throughout the day just to be sent to voicemail… This happened for an entire week. Leave a voicemail and hope they get back to you promptly.Water Fountain

This really is a good school. It's really cheap and the acceptance rate is 100%, but I don't feel like that's reflected in it's performance. The environment is really nice, and it doesn't feel like a local community college. The programs and teachers are good, and the Holland library has everything you need. The HPC building has literally everything you could dream of for a gym, and it's free for all full time students. I'd really recommend coming here, as I don't think I've ever met anyone here with student dept. It's seriously a good school.Jaymii Bonadurer

The Queen Tribute Band ❤️ was great fun! I wish we could of heard the words of the songs better.Every one was dancing in front of their seats & singing along. One of the Best Concerts I've been to. The lead singer was a bit distracting because he was not dressed at all like Freddy Mercy.Even wearing a white tank top & jeans would have been a bit truer to the character .Like what Freddy wore a the Live Aid Concert. I enjoyed attending Dixie College years ago. However, I now do not like living nearby. The campus police is a joke with the females involved w male students and vise versa. The neighbors now are forced to tolerate loud dances past midnight with booming music and the children can’t sleep. Our cars get broken into regularly and overall vandalism and theft has greatly increased. The students are running the madhouse it has become and it appears there is no clear leadership.Tiffany Sargis

School here is nice and if you need something cheap, but UVU reinforces the comment that "University education is becoming less valuable." Half my professors were either teaching here their first time, didn't speak English, or had no expertise in their subject. I passed 2 years of credits by watching videos and drawing pictures during class: not because I'm smart, but because there was no content. Like in high school, many of the professors have 30% percent of their grade centered around attendance. Not participation, but attendance. So yes, I ignored class because everything I needed for an A was provided online. I'm typing this now during Philosophy class, and I am not missing anything. Books are hardly ever used but are "required" according to the professors. They gather dust on my shelf. Most problems here need to be fixed across the nation not just UVU, but I am a very frustrated student in my twenties because I don't know where my money is going. Teachers aren't happy with pay and all have second jobs. The building and resources are really really nice but I rarely need to use them since the internet was invented. UVU in general education has the same quality as Khan Academy except here, there is a physical address they want you to come to. There is a good range of food options but mostly crowded into the same building. Parking is ridiculous and there is no reason to pay $90 a year for the clustered insanity that the school created. Use the darn money to hire a civil engineer for God's sake. Once you pass general education and focus in to better classes, the rooms get nicer and the teaching quality doubles. Don't come here if you're not willing to graduate. Location is fine other than the city planning on the busiest road outside. If you're coming from the south east your drive will be dangerous, traffic is terrible and construction has been in effect for 4 years now. Very annoying. Train station is very convenient and is likely your best choice if you have a transportation method to your nearest station. Students who work feel punished because rent in the area is high, and pay low. Scholarships are handed to those without jobs first, those who aren't working for rent and tuition are the ones handed money from the school. Afternoon/Night classes are poor in options and schedule so working at a volatile job is ever more of a punishment. (Data from a few friends and strangers) Many activities, but the activities most advertised in my buildings were focused for helping women, about guest speakers, for the LGBT community, or cost $15. So I've never been to one, though free lectures and speeches are common. Overall, UVU focuses on medium-to-low education and welcoming everyone with open arms. But once you're here, you may want to transfer to BYU or drop out entirely.Isaac Benge

Coming here was the best decision I have ever made. Every single professor cares about my learning and the fact that the average class size is 23 (I’ve never had a class over 25) makes it so my teachers know me, know my name, know what type of student I am, and some even came to my wedding! I have also been incredibly impressed with the resources. You would have to TRY to fail at UVU, because they truly make it so easy to succeed. From job resources, free tutoring, professor office hours, financial aid and scholarships, and everything in between I honestly feel like every single person I talk to wants me to succeed. The campus is amazing and INDOORS like seriously it is the best part of campus. Shorts in the winter and pants in the summer. Sure parking can be hard, but you are 100% going to find that at any university and it is really only bad after 10am so if you have classes before that you will be fine. The social life is great and the activities are fun and well attended. Free food at all times and tons of on campus food options. I honestly feel like the education I received is worth a million times more than what the tuition is (one of the lowest in the nation for a university). UVU focuses on Engaged Learning, or learning by doing, and most my classes don’t even have textbooks or tests, just projects and resume building it’s amazing. Add that to the fact that it is open enrollment and you can see why it is the largest university in the state. Seriously. Come take a tour at least and see how awesome UVU is.Justine Rupprecht

In all honesty do NOT go here, if you have a better option do not come to this college, it is a over glorified high school. They aren't too expensive which is nice, but they charge many other ways, you must pay to take tests if you are not there the first day, they offer no flexibility when taking classes especially if you are working full time. The professors are 50/50 you either get great ones that work with you, answer quickly to your emails, and are awesome. Or you get awful ones that only two kids pass their class, they will put you on academic probation which I don't get because I am paying to go to school here, so why does it bother them if I failed one class because the professor was awful. Went from IT bro to IT pro I got the Information Technology certificate from here earlier this year and it definitely pointed me in the right direction and gave me motivation and a space to get industry certs as well. It was hard to go in and do your work sometimes because life's life but the instructors were really understanding and good at helping you succeed here to finish the program, Trent and Miles were especially helpful and good resources for me. If you're trying to land your first IT job this is the program to do especially if you do the Comptia cert. test prep courses along the way and pass a couple of those. I wouldn't say this is the only schooling you need to go far in IT but it's a great start and has opened a lot of doors for me. I was able to get an IT job right after I passed the A+ test here while still doing the Bridgerland program and have had no issue finding an IT job since then. However if you want to be paid what you're worth after you finish the program moving out of Logan is key lol. I feel like some people get discouraged in the thick of it because it's A LOT of videos and information to take in, but if you're motivated and can learn to stay awake and pump it out it's well worth the time/energy/money investment. The only negative thing I have to say is I wish they put a greater emphasis on AWS and Azure. Both are heavily used in almost every company today and I knew very little about them when I entered the real world. Microsoft has a lot of smaller certs that you can put together to form a bigger Microsoft cert and it would be cool if in the required courses you had to do one or two of those to push you to get a higher level Microsoft cert, and maybe learn a bit about cloud computing along the way.Grey Christensen

Hypocrisy is very prominent within the Interior Design course at Bridgerland. The instructors expect perfection. It says that on the rubric of multiple assignments. I wouldn’t have a problem with this if they could display perfection themselves. I have found mistakes that I had to bring to their attention so they could correct it. Their response was: “It looks like the assignment was not updated.” Obviously this was just a simple mistake, but DON'T EXPECT PERFECTION IF YOU CAN'T BE PERFECT YOURSELF. Their policy with their dress code is another instance of hypocrisy. They have a strict business casual, which makes sense. As an interior designer, I believe you should be dressed nice. “Plan on wearing clothing you would wear to an interview.” are the words an instructor told me. So I came to class in my business casual attire and multiple instructors were wearing pants with holes in them. Seems extremely hypocritical to me. This is just the beginning of the issues I saw with this course, but to wrap it up, there are a considerable number of flaws in this course. The Interior Design program at Bridgerland was not worth it for me and does not seem like quality education.tessa s

I like Bridgerland Technical College but the Interior Design Department definitely needs a facelift. I don't want to say I learned nothing in this program but I felt like I accomplished coursework and there were new ones that I know I didn't see there before. I made aware of the situation and the instructor said it was "optional" but I didn't know that later on it would be applicable in later coursework. I'd also like to add that the instructor might not know all the computer programs that she is "teaching" in this department. They programs head instructor is a great interior designer but does not know how to implicate the techniques to the program. It's not far that I and other people in that program have to be led down a rabbit whole of never ending coursework and having to repay money to worthless projects and programs that we learn nothing from. Great place until you have an issue, “the person you need to talk to isn’t here today” well I guess “the person I need to talk to” hasn’t been there since 2019. Have really given this school every chance under the sun to do the right thing but nothing ever gets done, 3 years trying to resolve an error (made by the school) and here I still am. And “the person I need to talk to” still isn’t there. The overwhelming majority of staff is wonderful and dedicated to their jobs, however there is a painfully obvious lack of competence in upper level leadership. I have called/showed up well over 25 times trying to get things squared away and nobody ever reaches out. Have had staff email other staff to no avail. I am truly in disbelief at the complete and total lack of accountability associated with this school. Maybe this will get their attention…Ben Smith

I really like the flexibility of the online courses, the affordability and the variety of degree options they have. My advisors and teachers have been very great but communicating with the other staff at this school is very frustrating. The employees in the financial aid department are very rude and condescending and they hang up on you abruptly whenever they get frustrated with you. The registar’s office is by far the WORST. Very nasty employees in that department who talk down to you and treat you like a child. They seem to forget they work for a college, not an elementary school. One spent 10 minutes arguing on the phone with me just because I wanted my new advisor’s phone number and email. The “career counselors” offer no type of help or advice and they just tell you to “google it” whenever you have a basic question about a certain major. They are also very judgmental if you express a desire to finish with only an associates degree and not transfer to a 4 year, not considering not everyone has the financial means to do so. The call center employees are very disrespectful and seem like they want to find reasons to argue with callers. There are also huge issues with miscommunication at this school and everyone seems to have different answers about certain topics which causes a lot of errors. Certain departments are also not great about contacting back even after leaving numerous voicemails/emails. Overall I like the school itself but they need to either retrain the employees on basic respect and customer service or they need to hire new ones.Resident Anon

The teachers here are all outstanding and they make you feel like they want you to succeed. I have taken College Algebra, Biology and Spanish in the classroom and the instructors were all topnotch. There is also additional help available to students in the free math lab and writing centers as well as Spanish tutoring. The online classes are not that confusing but you do need to pay attention because sometimes you are required to take classes through third-party online textbooks via the access codes. The only problems I had were with transferring credits to the school and getting contradictory information from the financial aid office on one occasion. I do wish the school did a better job with advising students but I understand the logistics issues. Everyone at the hub is friendly and helpful! Use them they are a great resource. To all the people that left negative reviews, I would say "you get out what you put in". This is college and you get treated like an adult.Linda Brady

My child has been at MHA since 7th grade and is now completing his 1th grade year. We made the change to online learning because my son lacked motivation, didn't seem challenged, and I felt too much time was spent at school and not with family. I have had people tell me that online school is lacking and that my son will have issues when he transitions to in-person classes for college. That he will struggle socially. They were wrong! My son had a 4.0 going into this year (11th grade). Because of what people had said, I was worried when he decided to take some concurrent enrollment college classes and a few in-person classes at the local high school this year – including debate with involving also being on the debate team. He not only handled those non-MHA classes, but he aced them. He also received 4.0s in his first college classes. With the college credits and his honors classes, his GPA is now over a 4.0. He is leading his debate team and is competing at the state championship this weekend. He also was awarded a fully expense paid trip to Washington DC this spring by MHA . MHA has given him so much more than he could of gotten anywhere elsewhere. It's allowed us to still travel often as a family, it's taught my son how to be self-reliant and he's a more confident and happier child today. He loves learning!! He’ll be applying to universities this summer/fall, and I have no doubt he's well prepared for higher education. In response to another reply: MHA never bothers me with any excess communication. I get a weekly email that shows my sons grades and how much time he's spent on classes.Besides that the only occasional emails are notifications of events. Occasionally I get a call or email from a teacher sharing something my son did worth praise- I love that! If they make time for that, I‘m positive I would hear from the if he was struggling.Rebecca G

Mountain Heights Academy got my son through high school. They not only "got him through" but thoroughly prepared him for his next step. I so appreciate the principal allowing him to transfer in under extenuating circumstances and especially the special education department (he had an IEP) and teachers for taking him under their wing, figuring out his needs, and helping him learn how to communicate and stay on track, not getting behind. Also appreciate the counseling department who helped him learn about his adult options (school, work, etc). We appreciated the variety of classes offered as well as the way they were offered. For my son, who much prefers being outdoors than indoors, Mountain Heights was a great solution. I really can't say enough about how impressed I was with the counselor who meet with him regularly to explore his options, really taking time to help him figure out what he wants to do after high school and then teaching him how to do it, how to reach out and contact people, what the next steps are. He went in as a reluctant, quiet student who was just trying to fly under the radar to survive but has emerged confident in moving forward, confident in his choices, steady and grounded, knowing how to advocate for himself and feeling hopeful about his future. It's a wonderful thing to see and such a relief as a parent to have that kind of care and support from a team of administration, teachers, counseling, and special education. I was at my wits end on what I could do to help my son be successful in school and not be bullied or targeted while doing it. I found Mountain Heights Academy by way of a friend and enrolling my son in this school was by far the best thing I could have done. The teachers and administration are great to work with, very helpful and focus on doing what is best for my son. The teachers go above and beyond to make sure that his successes are often and they celebrate even the smallest of accomplishments. I could not be more happy with an online program as I was with this school, and recommend it to anyone who needs something different for their children than traditional brick and mortar schools. I was very happy with Kris Jackson she did my tour and always answered me when I had any questions. I started in January of 2021 still in the mist of COVID. I had a good experience, be prepared NOTHING IS EASY you have to study study study. I feel like most of the teachers there really do want to see you do good and will genuinely try to do a lot to help. I struggled a lot but there is always tutoring and someone willing to help. With every school comes drama that has nothing to do with school but just to know. There’s a lot of commitment when signing up so just know what your getting yourself into. The school teaches you a lot you need to know and has plenty of resources if you need more help. Only thing I wish I knew was more things that we could’ve been taught for the “real world” like a lot we get taught we need to know but there is some small things we have to know like trying to find veins by ourself or little tricks other than that I had a good experience. I would recommend if you are able to commit to a long hard program it is very rewarding in the long end.Emily Pham

As a former graduate of VTI and soon to be practicing veterinarian medicine for about a year I cannot thank the staff and mentors enough for caring and teaching me the skills that I use in everyday practice. They were always so thoughtful and there when you needed a helping hand wether it was something as big as tutoring before all classes started or as small as just small words of advice to keep students going through the program. The classes are geared towards exactly what you need to know and all the teachers seem to be very knowledgeable in which subjects they teach. If you are as lucky as me throughout the program you may even adopt your own 4 legged bestfriend you met during kennel duty!! 🙂Haidyn Craig

The Vet Tech Institute is an incredible school that teaches the reality of the animal career field. It teaches self discipline, personal instinct to trust, and an incredible amount of respect for the workers in any animal field. The staff are so incredibly patient and truly show their passion to teach and to love the animals we work with on an everyday basis. Being able to work with animals everyday in class only better creates a self confidence that has to be grown. I love this School. I love how the classes are small and if I ever needed help there was always someone willing to go the extra mile for me. Now a lot of past reviews were before they got almost a entirely new staff. The administration and instructors that are here help me feel supported any time I had an issue going on with school or at home someone was always willing to listen and guide me. I have been going here 18 months and will graduate the end of this year. There have been a lot of changes that have made it was a little chaotic but Crystal and Jaimee have been doing a lot to help students out that truly seek it. When the general classes switched online I freaked out like many not thinking I was competent enough to do online classes but I have succeed. Any time I had a question on a online class a instructor at the school was willing to help me if they couldn't they would find someone who could. I go to the instructors and staff here about any question I have no matter how small they never make feel bad for asking it because they understand we are students that are here to learn. Now I did here horror stories about some instructors that I never ended up having because they did leave before I had their classes so I can not speak on how those other instructors really were but the ones that are here now are very supportive and the ones I had the last 18 months were awesome.Audrianna Millan

Broadview University is not what it used to be. This place has gone down hill since the new dean, Amanda Babcock, enter its halls. I have watched really great teachers leave for better opportunities and I miss them dearly. Now they hire less than third rate people to teach and can't even do the class themselves. This doesn't apply a few good teachers who have been there a long time. But keep all your other options open before coming here. I stood up to right a wrong situation, and today I have learned that they punished the student I was trying to protect. I can no longer support such an unjust school. Because I tried to do what is right, a good person believe that their dream is now lost. I only wish I knew how to convince Matt Gephardt to investigate this school for their malpractices.Tony Meredith

If I could give zero stars I would. Broadview University is NOT regionally accredited! I was told, when starting at Broadview that they were accredited, and that all of my credit hours for courses taken would be transferable, should I go on to a different university to complete my Bachelors Degree. They lied to me, and now that I am going back to school, at the University of Utah, I've been informed that none of the credits I received for classes taken for my Associates Degree at Broadview count towards my Bachelors Degree. Don't go to school here. It's not any cheaper than going to another university, and at least at a real university your credit hours will count for something.Carolyn Larsen

For starters this school has a horrible graduation rate 1 in 3. That is a 33.3% success rate. I was in the successful student population, and graduated with honors. As I began looking into what I could do to further my education, I found out that most of the credits STI offers aren't transferable to even state colleges. Fortunately, USF designed a program tailored to this major short falling of the SD board of regents. I now have graduated from both institutions and needed official transcripts for my job. Not only does STI not offer the convenience of getting a transcript same day, they also make you pay for it. At USF I walked in and out with a transcript and no fee – that is service. You'd think that after receiving thousands of dollars for tuition STI would be able to print you a piece of paper for no charge. Very disappointed with this school, I would caution anyone considering attending.Christian Swenson

Do NOT get a Business Administration degree here. Got mine a few years ago because I didn't know better and now I work a job that doesn't require a degree because this degree didn't help whatsoever in getting a job. I would even say to NOT get any Business related degree from this school. Go to a 4 year if you want to do that. I have no doubt that this school is good for Technical degrees and even have a few friends who have pretty good jobs from getting those types of degrees here, and If i could go back in time I would've got my Computer Networking degree or something similar.Google Reviewer

This school has many great teachers and I love its facilities. But, unfortunately I have to rate it 1 out 5 because of a teacher they recently hired. They hired a person who doesn't know the subjects he teaches and they make him teach a lot of classes in my major. Signed up for the Voice Acting camp- $170 It was only a few minutes of the exact same exercises in the morning then we would have an assignment for the day. The assignments were things such as reading a Dr. Seuss book and recording voiceovers with YouTube videos. The equipment is terrible and the camp leaders have no idea what they’re doing. There is no instruction on character or actual voice acting. They will show videos of behind the scenes of films such as Moana but they won’t discuss it or anything. I could do all of this at home for free with a better microphone on my headphones. If you actually want to learn anything, go somewhere else.Jay Andrews

I took 2 years of Digital Design and one year of Marketing and I've learned more in the two years of my WCCC education than I did in the 4 years at Central.
