20 Best Vet Tech Programs In Rochester, NY (2022 Updated)

A wonderful place to go to school and a great place to visit. The students here are almost all very kind, sweet, accepting, supportive, and open-minded people. They are slightly diverse in terms of demographics, and quite diverse in terms of personality. The college offers a diverse range of majors and excellent classes. It has particularly great music, performing arts, nursing, and physical therapy programs. Class sizes are not very big, with very few lecture hall-style class settings. The teachers are mostly very kind and care greatly about what they do. Tuition is very high, but depending on your program, it can be worth it. The campus is beautiful! It is full of nature and a mix of collegiate gothic and more modern buildings. It is small and dense, but not crowded. It is also very safe. Risk of theft or damage to property is very rare, but the latter is more common among lowerclassmen. There is so much history to uncover. It is located close to good places to shop, eat, and visit in Pittsford. The academic buildings are clean, well-lit, and mostly fitted with modern amenities. Bathrooms in some buildings are very clean, some are quite unclean. The lowerclassmen residence halls can be somewhat loud, are typically slightly unclean, but have many events to attend run by the RAs. There are dorm or suite-style living choices. Upperclassmen residence halls are mostly clean, almost always very quiet, and have dorm, suite, apartment-style living choices. Living arrangements are for full-time students only. The food in the Dining Commons is pretty good. It has a pretty diverse menu with some options tasting decent, some great. Other food locations around campus have a somewhat limited menu range and the food is mediocre. Some alternative dietary accommodations are met, and more will be made if requested. Facilities staff are mostly not friendly, but not unkind. The staff in the Dining Commons are mostly pretty friendly and very kind.Graeme Lechner

I received counseling services from John Aceto at Nazareth College. This man is sexually inappropriate! I met him to work on my shyness, and for the entire session he tried diagnosing me other issues. He told me I drink coffee everyday because I have "Caffeine-use disorder." That rediculous disorder is not even in the DSM! Then he diagnosed my father with Bipolar disorder, based on my childhood memories. He never even met my father in person. After the session, he began rubbing his hand on my back, telling me that he wanted to "help me out." I felt violated. BEWARE of this man! He will rope you in for other issues and try to take advantage of you. I expressed my concerns to the director, Megan Clifford Papponetti, and she black mailed me. She threatened to have me suspended, and that is exactly what she attempted. She shared my confidential assessments and sessions with my Ex and even to my professors. My professors were concerned about me, saying that they received a strange call from Megan "bragging about the information she found out about me." That was PERSONAL information that I trusted with the Nazareth College Counseling Center, and I was humiliated. Nazareth College, you should be ashamed of yourself! On Memorial Day 2018 past midnight, our dog’s stomach flipped. Cornell was the only place that was open and had a surgeon on call. We drove 2 hours after getting him stabilized in Syracuse for the trip. They were waiting at the doors upon his arrival to rush him into surgery, facing a 50% chance of survival. We are eternally grateful to the surgeons, doctors and techs who saved our boy’s life. Thank you so much.Jacqueline Torres

I've had quite a few trips here over the years when my pets have had medical issues or emergencies. I've always been happy with their competence and professionalism, and I know my pets are getting the best care possible. I understand that Vet care is expensive but I feel that this place is more focused on the mighty dollar than actually caring about animals. They take advantage of desperate, emotional pet owners and people are left with having to euthanize pers that could be saved because they don’t have access to thousands of dollars immediately. Terrible when it comes to visitors and what information they tell you. My sister is currently in this place and apparently I can’t visit her. When my mom called them, they told us “only two set visitors can show up to visit the patient.” Nowhere on the pamphlet did it say that. The pamphlet says “immediate family members are welcome to visit during the day” and “other family and friends may visit Monday-Friday”. Also, they said it’s a rule due to covid. Everybody in our family is vaccinated including my sister (the patient) + we haven’t been near anybody with covid at all. Thanks to the hospital to telling us about this policy, my brother and father have wasted just about 3 and a half hours of their day going to visit, told they can’t, and driving back. Also, what happened to the no electronics thing? Everybody was told she was not allowed near electronics, but all of a sudden, she’s allowed to have a zoom meeting via iPad? They just broke their own rule which was already stupid in the first place. This whole place is a disaster.AverageBoi2356

Spent 6 hours at this hospital. They don't seem to do anything but COVID. I told them multiple times I didn't have COVID but they wouldn't be convinced so they sent me home with no diagnosis, convinced they were right. Got my negative test result from them this morning but that doesn't help my 101 fever. People need to trust that a hospital will actually do their job instead of just assuming they know. Really scary and pathetic to think how many people this has happened to.djrethoret

Horrible if I could rate 0 stars I would. Honestly this has to be the most worst medical center in the US. It makes every other center pool bad this place should've been shut down from the start I hope they know how to deal with lawsuits better then they're students/patients cause by the way this place is running they're gonna have a fun time in court. I totally agree with the one review Dr Jones is a miracle worker. I have a 4 yr old, 15 pound Yorkiepoo who suddenly got sick and would not eat or drink. I took him to the ED vet 3x, to our Vet and Urgent Care. He was diagnosed with Esophagitis but the medication was not working and he continue to lose weight rapidly 4 pounds in less than a week. I became extremely desperate and was trying everything possible to get him to eat and drink. I tried baby food, peanut better, soft food even cat food so after three weeks at was at my decide to schedule an appt for acupuncture. Dr Jones examine Chewy throughly and asked me lots of questions then he put the needles on him. As soon as we got home he went right to his water bowl and had a big drink and ever since he has be eating and drink like normal. I’m very greatful and thankful to Dr. Jones 🤗Damaris Vargas

Our dog needed water therapy, but we felt like we got the absolute bare minimum, way overpriced treatment from uneducated staff who have little knowledge of animals or physical therapy. There was no explanation or education given to us and generally very little care or effort by the staff. We felt like this was way overpriced which was compounded by the lack of communication. If were going to pay $70 per visit for 5 minutes in a water tank, it’d be nice to have someone tell us why water therapy is helpful, valuable, and what to look for or expect after each visit. But we still don’t even know if the 4 weeks of therapy did anything to help our dog because no one told us, probably because the staff didn’t know either… very disappointing and way overpriced.Matt Olpinski

Dr. Jones and been amazing with my dog Fergus. He was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis also called Westie lung disease. This disease is not common and hard to treat. Dr. Jones was willing to help me with laser treatments for Fergus. Taylor does Fergus’s laser treatments and she has been amazing! She is caring knowledgeable and always asking how Fergus is doing and if we need to change anything. Taylor is one of the best laser techs I have had the pleasure to work with my dogs. I have had laser in several of my dogs. We are lucky to have Taylor working here and lucky to have a place like this in Rochester!Jennifer Singer

This particular veterinary hospital is fantastic!! I have been bringing my dog Bentley there for years now and couldn't be more happier. His previous vet had made me feel as though we were being judged based upon his breed and had made his visits and boarding very inconvenient for us (they had actually made me drive multiple times from my job which was a 30 minute drive one way to do things I was paying them to do!). From the beginning, Brighton Animal Hospital has made us feel extremely welcome from ALL of it's staff!!! Especially Dr. Hawkins and Dr. Miner. I have never felt judged for the breed of my dog; scheduling has never been an issue; the advice and knowledge that is given has always been correct, and EVERYONE is always friendly! I feel so blessed to have them in our corner in regards to our furry family member. I cannot say enough good things about this office. We became clients in 2021 after receiving extremely disappointing care from our previous office of 8 years. Dr Foley and Dr Hawkins have gone above and beyond for my boys and it's obvious how much they care. They're not here to make money, but truly to help you and explain what they're thinking. They're not pushy in their recommendations and support you in what you think it best. I used to like Cats & Critters but since they were taken over by the corporate veterinary consortium that manages a bunch of local veterinarians the service at Cats & Critters has got markedly worse, to the point where the vet dealing with my cat would not make time to fill a prescription that could easily have been filled in 2 minutes, even when I told them my cat was almost out of the medication and needed it by the next day. To me it smacked of elitism, wanting only clients who bring their cat in every 3 months and it seems like they only want clients who are bringing them a certain higher amount of money per year … that kind of corporate mentality takes away from the personal touch that makes a good veterinarian great. I had been going to Cats & Critters for 5 years and had paid all bills on time. I moved to a new independent vet and away from the corporate money-first lack of ethics that has taken over recently at Cats & Critters. Ultimately, Cats & Critters serves the financial needs of their management before the needs of cats. That's an ethical compromise that reflects the values of a lost world.Michael Reiss

After moving to the area last year, my partner and I chose Cats & Critters as our new vet because of their dedication to cats and all the joys that come with them. Our kitty Alfie has had chronic constipation for a few years now and after moving a few times I can confidently say Cats & Critters has provided the best level of service for his condition. They seem to genuinely care about his progress and check in to make sure he's okay after visits. After emergency hospitalization, Cats & Critters was the one that recommended the current medication Alfie is on that is making his constipation as manageable as possible – barely noticeable. He's a happy kitty living his best life thanks to C&C. Dr. Hach has provided us quality care so far and I'm looking forward to seeing her with my new kitty soon! Can't recommend this place enough. My cat gets frequent, very persistent ear infections, and our previous vet didn't even seem to care about determining an underlying cause. Dr. Gray is very informative, is attentive to my cat's issues as well as my concerns, and is always transparent about costs. I also really appreciate that they always have your exam room ready when you arrive and you can take your cat right in there as soon as you walk in the door. Very clean facility with staff that is remarkably friendly! My dog can be anxious, especially having to be left at the office for surgery, but they took her in with lots of pets and love & took the best care of her. Everyone in the office knew her by name. I was able to call and check in on her during surgery & everyone was so helpful and willing to find out all the information I was looking for. They comforted me during a tough time in hopes my pup would be ok & reassured me to call with any questions I have moving forward. I took my dog in for a tumor that developed quickly on her spleen & the next day she was in for a splenectomy… a major emergency surgery considering the tumor was so big. They put my mind at ease & without a doubt in my mind, I scheduled surgery with Dr. Blair. Highly recommended for any small or big needs your animal may have.E Borodin

I have been taking my dog here his entire life (7years) and have probably seen every doctor in the office at one point. They are all wonderful, kind and caring to my dog, as well as the vet techs and front office staff! As of late,my dog has seen Dr. Wylie and she is amazing! She always takes time to talk with me about my concerns and always has a happy demeanor. She knows my dog has anxiety and has gone above and beyond to make his visits successful. We adopted a beagle from the pound and decided try a new vet. Stone ridge is near our home so we decided to try them. We were quite pleased with the staff! The hospital is very clean and modern! W were so impressed that we switched our other dog from the vets we’ve been going to for over 25yrs! Frustrated with Greece Animal Hospital. Before the Pandemic I took my four cats for annual check-ups for about 3 years. My last visit was on 11/19. I was not overly thrilled, but it was okay. There was always a little bit of a wait to see the Vet. My cats liked their previous vet tremendously, so I wasn't too concerned when they acted like cats at a Vet "get me out of here" and the overall care seemed thorough and not that much more than my old Vet. During pandemic, I made the decision to not take my cats for annuals because they were closed or restricted and I felt the stress of the situation on them was not worth it given they had no pressing medical issues. Recently I adopted a puppy and wanted to bring him in for a new puppy check-up and to begin the routine with a Vet. I was told because I hadn't been there in so long my account was no longer active/valid and she provided the name of some other Vet Clinics I might consider. So, I will start calling around to find a Vet who wants to provide service and collect the $$ on 5 animals. In the end, since I wasn't overly impressed with the Vet, this may turn out to be a good thing, but still it is thoroughly disappointing to see how they run their clinic.Jeanne Powers

The veterinary staff from doctors right down to receptionists are the most hardworking professionals I’ve ever seen. Since the pandemic they have been hit with multiple changes. This includes overtime hours, overbooking, rude and frustrated clients all while continuing to care and treat our pets like they were their own. I have never met a more compassionate group in my life that continues regardless of these hurtles to provide a quality of care that is unmatched to most hospitals in this area. I can’t imagine trusting my pets care to anyone else. I thank them in more ways than one for everything they do. So I encourage you when you may feel frustrated with some changes or long wait times, that you understand these people work incredibly hard and care very deeply. They deserve the utmost respect. I have full faith and confidence in Dr.s Ferderbar and Hubbard. (I have only worked with them at this practice) We followed Dr. Hubbard here from her previous location and have been working with her for over 15 years. They truly care about our pets and take the time to get to know them and us as owners. They are incredibly responsive and knowledgeable. The entire staff is compassionate and caring and treats us with respect. We have worked with them for pets as kittens and puppy to geriatric stages and end of life, from well-pet visits to minor surgeries to emergency situations and and I can't think of one time that we were disappointed. I believe the prices to be comparable to other animal hospitals based on what I have heard, but they do advise us as to what expenses are and try to find less pricey alternatives if possible so that we can make informed decisions on treatment.Jo MV

I am very impressed. Our cat Stella broke a tooth and the emergency vet on White Spruce doesn’t do dental work, and the other emergency vet was booked and the other places we tried were closed for the day. She was acting normal and eating and all so we waited till this morning and called Irondequoit Animal Hospital which is our regular vet clinic and Dr. Straka squeezed her in first thing this morning. We are so appreciative to her and her staff for taking her in so quickly. We’ve been going there for over 25 years and are very pleased with the care and attention they have provided not only today but throughout the years. The tooth has been removed and there is no infection so we are quite relieved and so pleased Dr. Straka and the staff there were willing to accommodate Stella right away. 💕Cassie Playford

I have been going here for almost 20 years for my animal health needs. And they have always been wonderful. But the last 2 years, things have changed. I have been trying for over a year to get an appointment and they are always full. They say to call on a certain day when the next calendar month opens up but you can never call fast enough to get an appointment. This has been super frustrating. Dr. Bunkin Berg is amazing!! We drive about an hour to see her because she is that amazing! I reached out with a question about my pup and his ears. I’m finding a new vet. Stat. So, when I brought her in for her first appointment and got her nails trimmed, they cut her and made her bleed and sent her back out to us without putting something on her for the bleeding. Strike One. When thought my dog is pregnant, they told me to Google her prenatal care what I asked for advice. Strike two. Today, I brought her in for a vaccine and nail trim. The tech was TERRIFIED of my VERY FRIENDLY pitbull and only trimmed 1 nail, said she trimmed 3… and was just completely unprofessional. I will be finding a new vet office STAT because they’re Extremely Judgmental when it comes to handling Pitbulls, no matter how friendly they are. If I could rate ZERO stars, I would.Cherea Smith

Never ending sales pitch about some weird monthly plan (versus just fairly pricing their services?). I expressed I was put off by the concept of this plan and that it sounded shady to me, and they WOULD NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT IT even after I gave them all the reasons I was not interested. They even mentioned it one last time as they were ringing me out!! Any company that is so pushy about locking you into a monthly payment is up to no good. Friendly staff. Our 2 pups are high energy so they always get us in to a room promptly. We have seen all the Vet's there and they are all wonderful. They always send time talking to me and ddressing any of my concerns and explaining things to my husband and I. Chester and Cami are not scared to go to the Vet because they thi k it's the "treat store" since they get so spoiled while they are there. We have been going here since we moved into chili and we only went here because they had a wellness plan, which saved us money in the long run. Unfortunately, they discontinued their wellness plan but we will not switch vets because the staff here is awesome. We switched from an old vet office that seemed to rush us in and out every time we went there and this place everyone seems like they care so much more. Their vets always take my concerns seriously and they helped out a lot when my dog had a terminal illness and passed away last year. I will take any future pets to this office.Heathet Gallipeau

Coldwater staff did a phenomenal job taking care of my dog. He had surgery there with Dr. Klovstad. The surgery was a huge success, with no complications at all. My pup was attended to and cared for during the recovery. Lauren and Dr. Klovstad were very patient with us and helped us to completely understand the recovery period and what the surgery entailed. The doctor and staff were wonderful in every way, from getting us in the following day to helping me make the decision to let my boy fly free from his pain. Disrespectful and extremely unprofessional.. no wonder they work with animals, people would never tolerate this. Covid rules: only one owner in at a time, but no one needs to wear masks. When asked about the rule, the tech was rude and disrespectful . My 3 year old daughter was told to wait in the car. I then was charged an outrageous amount for services, and things were added on without my permission. The staff was rude and when asked about the items they were extremely disrespectful. Westside Animal Hosp has gone above and beyond in customer service. My daughter, who lives a few blocks away ,adopted a kitten with lots of issues. I called to set up the first appointment, because my daughter is Deaf. All of the staff and doctor have been great in making these appointments accessible for my daughter. They have found ways to communicate with her and even type up a summary and email it to her, in case she forgets any instructions. I am truly grateful for your wonderful service. If you're looking for a veterinarian office that takes care of your animals and actually is concerned about their well-being go there. If you just want to drop your pet off and get some quick shots and they don't have concern for your animal take a elsewhere. Pretty simple. As far as cost they are pretty much competitive with everyone else but if you need to make an appointment quick again call these people because you will get in within a day or two. I brought three of my babies to get spayed and neutered. They explained everything to me in detail gave me all the financial aid information I needed and help me with it. They are very organized and very efficient they do everything possible to make sure that your pet is comfortable and safe. Even upon discharge of my fur babies they explained exactly what they did what medicines they gave them and explain about the take-home meds and what I could expect after their procedure. They answered every question and if they didn't know they went and got the doctor in the doctor actually came out and explained it to me. Took my cat Louie here for his vaccines and the front desk associates were very nice!!! The facility was very clean and they treated my Louie like family!!! We even got an expedited appointment to get him neutered!!! How awesome is that!!! It was our first time visiting so we didn't know what to expect!!! Our experience was a great one!!! I'm so impressed with Dr. Thornton and the whole Penfield Vet office. I am a first time dog mom, so of course I get nervous over little things. I appreciate that every time I call the office, the receptionists work with Dr. Thornton and myself to see if I need to come in, or if I can do a few things at home, which saves me time, money and makes me feel at ease that he's okay! I had some questions about my dog yesterday that didn't require needing an appointment, so I decided to email instead of call since it wasn't urgent. Dr. Thornton responded within about 24 hours and was so detailed and helpful. I could tell that she put a lot of thought into how she could help my specific dog. i’ve been with this hospital since i rescued my dog tyke in 2020. i am just leaving now because i am moving out of state. they have always provided exceptional service and have been able to get me in promptly when i had pressing issues with my dog. they have also been super accommodating with his reactivity, by giving me appointment times with a low flow of activity and allowing me to bring him in through the back of the building. the vets really allow you to explain things with your pet and have a conversation, rather than just trying to get you in and out as soon as possible.Katrina Rowe

If your pet is sick, no problem; they can get you an appointment in 3-4 weeks or you can pay double or triple to go to the MVA urgent care or MVA emergency practice. Calling with a post operative concern? A vet will get back to you in 48-72 hours (or in my case 1 week later). Need a specialist referral? Expect 1-2 weeks for the MVA doctor to make said MVA referral, another 2 weeks to speak with the scheduler, and a 2 month wait thereafter to see the specialist, who will charge $300 just to tell you the pet needs a $4000 procedure- all after having spent $1500 on a procedure 4 months ago which was supposed to fix the same problem. I also once called to euthanize my pet who was a regular patient there and was told that the vet was not in that day, and no other vet there could accommodate us. I had to make one of the most painful calls of my life twice that day and take my pet elsewhere. In fairness though, the receptionist did notify her vet, who put a sympathy card in the mail after another practice euthanized her. Two stars seems generous, but I have had some good interactions with the staff/vets. It has just not been consistent and they are not reliable in a pinch. I believe they are well-intentioned, but are coming up short.Susan Grant

I have nothing but great things to say about this office! My animals are my children, and I want nothing but the best care for them. Dr. McKinney was a godsend to my ferret Benson after he was wrongly diagnosed with Lymphoma by his previous vet. I spent a month thinking I was going to lose him, that’s when I called Suburban, knowing they care for exotic animals. He took the time to give Benson an X-ray and a tissue sample of his lymph nodes. The results were back in 4-5 days and he left a detailed message about what the biopsy entailed. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done. I feel like a can breathe now, and a huge weight has been lifted. This office is just amazing and I would recommend it to anyone!Kelly Dawley

I have been going to this vet for several years and they have really gone downhill. I’ve been trying to book a routine follow up for my dogs since June and wasn’t able to book one until August. I then received a phone call the day before my dogs appointment letting me know one of the doctors was out so they would need to reschedule our dogs into October. It’s also impossible to get any acute appointments with them so if something is wrong with one of your pups you have to go to urgent care. Not sure the point of having a vet if you can never get your dogs in to see them. Would highly recommend looking elsewhere as I will be.Rebecca Conklin

Doorbell vet is the blessing I never knew I needed. I had so much trouble trying to get my cat into a carrier and it was so stressful for him. Doorbell vet makes these visits easy and Jim (my cat) is much more relaxed in his own home. They are very kind and so gentle. They’ve provided me with medicine to help him relax before the visits which worked miracles and made the experience easier on the both of us! Dr. Martini is the best vet I’ve worked with and I’ve had an animal my entire life. She explains everything and answers all your questions. They also have a patient portal for your pet where you can email them and ask any questions which they respond to quickly. I am beyond impressed by the level of service my kitties and I received today from Doorbell Vet. They were very professional and informative taking the time to answer all my questions. Having a service that comes to the house is not only a lot less stressful for the humans but also for the animals. They came in and took the time to let the cats get acclimated to them in a space that the cats were comfortable in. They also brought treats and toys for the cats which was amazing. I loved how much time and attention they provided, so much better than any on site vet location I have ever visited. I will absolutely be calling on them for all future vet visits.Chris H

We went here for the first time to get our beloved kitty put to sleep. He had taken a horrible turn and was suffering so much. It was a Saturday and we couldn't get in anywhere. Even the emergency hospitals and home euthanasia services were booked for days. We called this place and explained the situation and even though they were totally slammed, they took pity and let us come in. It was a quick visit of course but everyone was so kind and caring. The vet was fantastic and seemed pretty down to earth. I'm actually writing this review because they sent us a condolence card for our cat and wrote a little note mentioning things we had talked about during the visit. It almost made me tear up just having them listen to us (total strangers they had never dealt with before) and include that little bit of personal detail. If this place wasn't so far from me I would try and switch here for my veterinarian in a heartbeat. Truly wonderful and caring staff.Brandi Ray

Went in today for urgent care and my pet was seen by Dr Marisa Quinlan and vet tech Jessica. Overall a great experience for me my girl Gynni (dog). They are compassionate and the doctor explains things clearly and fully, They assessed my situation through pics while I was still home and wanted me to bring my girl in even when they were at capacity! Jessica was great at handling Gynni who is a bit nervous with strangers and quickly they became best friends. I was was very nervous doing the curbside with Gynni but it went smoothly. We live right around the corner and found a lost cat. Beautiful, long hair, super friendly, wearing a collar but no tags. We called Pittsford Animal Hospital and asked if we could bring her in to be scanned for a microchip. The receptionist said "No, we only scan chips for clients. It has to be done by a technician and we are too booked up. One of our technicians was bitten by a squirrel, so we cannot offer scanning unless you're a current client." So frustrating for us, this cat, and I'm sure it's worried family (who MAY be clients of PAH – who knows?!)Leah Jordan

We had 4 cats ( 2 boys & 2 girls) & take all of them to Stoney Pointe. Recently we lost our 2 older boys within 3 weeks of each other. Both were put to sleep @ Stoney Pointe. The staff mourned with us. Our 1 boy was Siamese & developed health issues. He had to have surgery, which was done @ Stoney Pointe, but sadly his health issues progressed & took him from us. But for the months he battled Stoney Pointe was right there helping. Sometimes he had issues that just popped up & they would fit us in same day. They were always there for him, & us, & all our other cats. Now we just have the 2 girls that we take there. They make us, our cats feel important. All the staff are incredible. “Your dog is a mess”, how would you like your vet to make this statement to you when your pet is suffering ??? This is what this vet said to my 85 year old mother. Disgusting! This veterinarian needs to have his license revoked. Is this what you want to hear about your beloved pet? That your pet is “a mess?” Cruel!!! He is cruel!!! Shameful!!! Absolutely hurtful to have to hear your pet described as a “MESS”. My mother had her dog Scarlet put to sleep by a vet she didn’t know but was given empathy and compassion.wendy schneider

Doctor Rodgers takes excellent care of Tess, and the staff is always helpful and friendly. My dog is afraid of the vets office, but they do everything g they can. To make her comfortable and feel loved. She gets so overjoyed when she interacts with the staff, and they keep her healthy all year round. These guys are awesome and I would definitely suggest them to others. About a month ago I was at work and found a tiny little kitten who was flea infested and full of worms. I called about 20 vet places in my area and farther and this one was by far the most helpful and responsive to me! I called in the morning and by noon they called me again to let me know they had space to see the kitten. I brought her in and she weighed in at 1lb 10oz. They brought her into the back and checked her out and told me that she was 3 months old but severely malnourished. 🙁 They helped me out with a flea treatment but commended how well I had already done as the night before when I found her I bathed and flea combed her throughly, gave me food with extra nourishment and she needed dewormer that they also provided. They scanned her for heart-worm as her blood test showed signs but we were luckily in the clear!! They were so soft and kind with her and talked me through a lot of what I needed to do. They were also extremely understanding about how I didn’t know much about her but needed her to be checked out and we are very grateful. After noticing a new onset facial droop in my pup on a Sunday morning, we ended up getting an appointment at ARK when the emergency vet and the urgent care they recommended were at capacity. They were able to get us in with an appointment within 1.5 hrs. Everyone we encountered from Patty on the phone, to Dr. Chris who evaluated Shamus was amazing. They were great with Shamus and with me as well. They did a great job explaining the process of the visit, what they thought was going on, and talked me through diagnostic and treatment options. I left with a piece of mind that my boy was well cared for and appropriately worked up and treated. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back in the future if necessary (although I hope it’s not!). PS Shamus is doing well… we’re thinking it’s an ear infection causing a focal neurologic deficit and should revolve with antibiotics and time 🤞🏼Krystal Kaminski

Dr. Marky and her team were amazing. She was informative, kind, and genuinely concerned for my 9 year old cat who suddenly stopped eating and drinking. She called when I wasn’t even expecting a follow up. More than once. Ark isn’t my vet, but at the time I had little options with the holiday and that fact that all vet clinics are overwhelmed. My vet couldn’t see Bella at the time, but I had to do something. The staff was amazing and so patient with my MANY calls during the week Bella was sick. The vet techs (I think I saw 3 total) were also very helpful. I hope I am never in another emergency situation again with my cat. But if I am, I will definitely be going to Ark.Stephanie Coriddi

I wouldn’t recommend to anyone trying to better their lives. They promise you a job at the end of your course and then claim that there are no jobs available. The teachers use their time to threaten you and accuse you of talking, not paying attention or just deviant behavior while you sit their silently and then all faculty staff say “well it’s a free program” they also threaten to remove you from class and tell you to “get out” if you have questions or you bring up things that you’ve learned before that challenge what they’re teaching and ask for clarification. There was a teacher who would actively blame me for the things the girl next to me did. If she was speaking in class, eating or even sleeping she would accuse me of being the one talking or the one that was influencing this grown girl to behave the way she did. While I sat there quietly and did my work. Don’t do it if you have anxiety or depression cause this place will push you to kill yourself having to survive here. They also remind you that you’re a charity case that they have blessed with the right to attend to school.Alana Hernandez
