Compare with ESL in Maryland, English online in Maryland 3 hours, the teacher in Maryland is wonderful and quality. But this school here is not good about teach quality. That is really bored & lose time for in the future. Teacher doesn’t care about the students, Teachers have no responsibility to students . Time teach is very short, special study online about 30 Minutes often, students person in person- 1 hour just study in app Burlingtonenglish, 1 hour do theirself by Burlingtonenglish at computer. No speaking, no listening, no reading, no other homework, no fix pronunciation even students speak wrong word. Finish class no test english, the class mix good english students with other low english students. I have been a student at SKYCTC since summer 2015 and I will receive my AA in the Spring 2017 and then transfer to another college to receive my Bachelors and then Masters. I have had the BEST experience attending this school. I am also a student worker and have had great opportunities with my job. The class sizes are smaller which make for better relationships with your professors, and there is all kind of resources available to students. Im a criminal Justice major and i like program except one huge thing it needs more hands traning so you prepared for the job once you graduate and not have move on for four degree and they need to have dorminties to live on i hardly see people on campus it almost empety they have two many campuses they need to have one and the paint falling off the school. The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

I would recommend HCC to anyone who seeks a regular education but if your untrusted in the nursing school through this school stay away! If you are a self learning person who can Consume large amounts of information quickly then you will do fine in this nursing school! If you are not they will chew you up and spit you out and not even care, they will take your money and pays you out of the nursing program without so much as a single moment of help. The director of nursing will call you names and insult you and threaten you and the principal of the school when it was brought to her attention about the behavior of the director of nursing and the problems within the nursing department, and the bulling from the Nursing staff towards the students was insulting! The principal will laugh in your face and not even try to help you, but The principal, will take your suggestions on how to improve the nursing program for future students but as for you a current struggling student you will get absolutely no help even if you go to the staff every single week you will get absolutely no help and they will watch you fail out of nursing school and take your money. So if you cannot learn quickly and suffer from any kind of disability, do not waste your time and your money in this nursing program, because they will just destroy your soul and your life!Roy Scott

The only reason I am giving this school a 3 star rating is because of the teachers. Don't get me wrong every school has its problems but the majority of the teachers there are amazing. The problem with this school is anything and everything that has to do with the admissions building. It is full of nothing but student workers that don't know how to do their job. Trying to get an actual adult on the phone that actually works there for a living and not minimum wage is like pulling teeth. You will not get anything done by the deadlines they have because you will not be able to get any help from anyone. I wouldn't call about a problem you're having because you'll likely have to call back because you got an unhelpful response and have to make multiple calls back, go directly there and make a professional assist you or you will get no where.Beth Knight

I have been communicating with Ms. Deloria Scott for the past few months over the phone. I am in the midst of the overwhelming process of moving cross-country and enrolling in a new school. I had plenty of questions for Ms. Scott and she always was able to help me out and answer all of my questions with her positive attitude toward her job. Although I have not attended HCC just yet, I am confident that if the quality of education is half as good as the customer service I will be satisfied.Jillian Brown

I just completed the MSN FNP program, however, my diploma/degree conferral is being held until September. As a result, I cannot obtain a license to practice until, at least, September. Most likely, it’s going to be even longer than that. I had a job lined up but, now that I have no way to get certified for, at least, two months, that’s gone. Oh, and, yes, it does state that at the end of the end of a page, after encouraging me to take two different certification exams which run upwards of $300 each just to sit for the exam. There are review courses available but each one runs about $395 if you want a reputable one. So, in summation, I have completed an advanced degree, have incurred the cost of this degree, still have to work as an RN for two to three more months, lost my potential job, and my diploma is, in essence, being held for ransom. Dr. Sara Runge and Dr. Eileen Shanahan arranged a summer Camp for GRAD Cincinnati this week (June 13th-June15th). This is our 7th year working with Dr. Runge and as in previous years the program was very well planned. The students were able to experience the campus life by staying in the dorms and all of the colleges with hands on experiences. The students' presentations indicated they all learned a great deal. They all stated we had a great time. Even though the weather hit a record high, the staff from NKU worked very hard to make certain the students had a fulfill campus experience. NKU staff and professors did an outstanding job providing a 3 day college tour/retreat for our High School students. NKU staff offered our students opportunities to explore their academic interests, participate in hands on activities and visit a variety of labs, which in turn helped spark new ideas for career options and educational pursuits. Students were given opportunities to ask questions, interact with professors, department heads, other staff members, and a student panel which helped them to understand college on a deeper level. I graduated in the Summer of 2018, and I wanted to say overall my experience with OCTC had been good and not very much complaint, but I do have to say that I do not appreciate the way they shipped my AA diploma, and I know others have complained about this too. They shipped it in a flimsy envelope as if the achievement didn't deserve a better way of shipping. The certificate was crinkled on the edges and was bent down the middle. Overall I was able to flatten it out and frame it and was okay, but the lack of respect to graduates on this is kind of sad on OCTC's part. Future reference please do not treat your graduates this way. I wouldn't mind having a new one reshipped to me properly this time, and if I do get one then I will give OCTC a better rating. I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

Out of the 4 community colleges I have taken courses at, ABTech has been the worst by far. I have had the worst experience with advising/registration trying to get scheduled for the classes I want. Everyone I speak to just turns me in circles and no one seems to understand what to do in order to help me go where I need to go. They only give you 48 hours once classes start to switch them around if need be, but you need an advisor to approve before you can register for anything different, but you can’t get in to meet with an advisor till days after the deadline. I feel so defeated. I worked so hard to get the courage to return to school, just to not be able to take any courses this semester. Wasting my time and my financial aide. The staff here are for the most part very friendly and easy to be around. The administration however, is terribly unorganized. It's not uncommon to get information from their website or info center, but be told the complete opposite by a faculty member or chair person. I was following a recommended schedule for the program I'm in, when it was changed completely without any notice. Half the classes I was told to take this Fall are no longer offered, and it will now take me twice as long to complete my program. Long story short- don't attend AB tech if you're pursuing a degree or diploma. I'd only recommend this place to continuing education students.Andy Albert

LOVE this school! I am graduating this May from the Radiography program and will graduate next May with an AS in Biochemistry. AB Tech has made the process smooth and efficient for me, just as I worked hard to make sure I turned everything needed for processing my information early to them to ensure success. The teachers are fantastic and truly care about their students. I am so grateful for the writing, math and science study labs as well because the staff there gave me the extra help I needed whenever a concept was tough. Not a fan of this place but sadly do not have many options in my area staff say they are always there yet when you need them seem to be nowhere to be seen I called numerous times and non stop to a woman named Kim Ford she would never answer an I couldn't get a hold of anyone she was very rude an when I tried to drop the class felt like she was bullying me an teasing me for the reason she took a private matter an made it into a joke as I read her notes she sent to the other staff who work there. I felt embarrassed and violated that she would turn a private matter into a joke…and I also thought it was very convenient for her to finally answer her phone after the time was up that I would be charged for dropping the class…she is very uptight snarky and has a giant ego. Dealing with the staff here is difficult sometimes. I was supposed to start this past fall semester, and was told for three months via email that I was ready to go and that all I need to do was come down and register for my classes. I ended up waiting until the last day (which is my part of the fault in this, I should've gone sooneer) to go down to register for my classes. I sit and wait for two and a half hours, which I understand, they were busy. Then I get back to the advisor and she tells me there is a $20 transcript review fee that I haven't paid, and that because the registrar left a half hour ago while I was in the waiting room, I now could either pay my tuition out of pocket, or not go, even though I had the $20 for the fee in my hand. I hate this school but I did get a good education. The teachers care about their students (most of them anyway), but everyone else just cares about money! When I came for summer o I had already been accepted and was excited to attend largely because of the low tuition costs. Then I get to course advising they tell me that I’m required to take a 1 credit hour class and if I take more than 15 credit hours I have to pay an extra $ 700 for each credit hour over! Either that or I would have to take 13 credit hours and be off track for graduation. Then I decided college wasn’t for me but I was so close to getting my associates I decided I’d switch my major to that and take two summer classes. I applied for graduation a little month late butveas charged an extra $50 on my application and the semester ends tomorrow and they still haven’t approved me! I emailed them and they are dodging the question and not being helpful. If you live in Kentucky I’d recommend going here because it’s cheap for you but if you’re out if state go somewhere else.Kylie Liefer

Went to Trilogy beauty salon for a haircut and hair color appointment. Student did a really nice job on both. Affordable for gen eds but for a technical college they have some of the worse tech issues I have every seen my I have seen middle schools with better technical support. Do not take there advice on what laptop to buy since I was told to buy a Microsoft brand laptop but I needed to add every chrome extension needed to even access half the course material. I had to ask my instructors to use my personal email only since I could send emails through my school one but could not read any of the instructors emails.Gunfire Productions

Let's just say I'm no spring chicken. I got my Industrial electrical apprenticeship at the age of 46 and at the age of 50 I graduated. It was not an easy thing for me. But the program was excellent and they gave me alot of skills I use everyday at my job. Some days I think I should have tried fitting the instrumentation specialist into my schedule some how but with work hours it wouldn't have work. Id say they have everything you need to succeed at FVTC, because if I can do it at my age anybody can there!Heath Mischke

Absolutely horrendous. I originally rated the school at 3 stars while I was attending but now that it's over they deserve as few stars as possible. The pros: great Art, Philosophy, and Engineering Technology programs. The cons: pretty much everything else. Parking is a joke. After gouging you on price for a sticker they intentionally oversell (e.g. 130 stickers for 100 spots) they often ticket and/or tow regardless of whether you've got the sticker displayed. Food services is equally asinine. The staff and workers are all friendly and mostly competent but the selection and hours of availability are poor at best and any meal or plan is horrendously overpriced. The computer science department (both professors) recently quit and were replaced with whatever they could find in the bargain bin. The math department, while surprisingly helpful and personable, is woefully underfunded. Maybe the new president will fix things but my time (and a sizable amount of money) has already been wasted.Eric Lawson

My daughter was a freshman here. She got in a little trouble a misdemeanor and was immediately voted off campus and 2 year suspension and even tho she did not have operaters license or transportation. She was told she had to evacuate dorm even without transportation. This policy is the worse school policy i ever seen. I will be talking with Ky. State dept. Of Education. When I was looking into going to Ross I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't sure if this program was really any good. From the minute I walked in the door all my apprehension was gone!! The admissions staff made me feel right at home and walked me through the process step by step and answered all my questions. The financial aid staff was wonderful and answered all my questions about my financial aid and got it processed quickly. The school director was absolutely the best!! She takes time to actually sit you down and find out how you are doing in your courses and she is available to fix any problems you may have. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable about the subjects they are teaching you and are also available to answer any questions and offer whatever help you may need. Career services literally will not stop looking for employment for you until you have a job in your field. Honestly so disappointed. A complete lack of communication from day one. Today should be my graduation date, and I can't even get an email response about anything. The education I received was so far off track from what I was told I would receive (Billing and Coding) and I think I might be qualified to answer phones and make minimum wage now that I am done. I get plenty of communication about sharing on social media but cannot even get a response about what I am to do next now that my qualifications for completion are met. I was very happy with Kris Jackson she did my tour and always answered me when I had any questions. I started in January of 2021 still in the mist of COVID. I had a good experience, be prepared NOTHING IS EASY you have to study study study. I feel like most of the teachers there really do want to see you do good and will genuinely try to do a lot to help. I struggled a lot but there is always tutoring and someone willing to help. With every school comes drama that has nothing to do with school but just to know. There’s a lot of commitment when signing up so just know what your getting yourself into. The school teaches you a lot you need to know and has plenty of resources if you need more help. Only thing I wish I knew was more things that we could’ve been taught for the “real world” like a lot we get taught we need to know but there is some small things we have to know like trying to find veins by ourself or little tricks other than that I had a good experience. As a former graduate of VTI and soon to be practicing veterinarian medicine for about a year I cannot thank the staff and mentors enough for caring and teaching me the skills that I use in everyday practice. They were always so thoughtful and there when you needed a helping hand wether it was something as big as tutoring before all classes started or as small as just small words of advice to keep students going through the program. The classes are geared towards exactly what you need to know and all the teachers seem to be very knowledgeable in which subjects they teach. If you are as lucky as me throughout the program you may even adopt your own 4 legged bestfriend you met during kennel duty!! 🙂Haidyn Craig

The Vet Tech Institute is an incredible school that teaches the reality of the animal career field. It teaches self discipline, personal instinct to trust, and an incredible amount of respect for the workers in any animal field. The staff are so incredibly patient and truly show their passion to teach and to love the animals we work with on an everyday basis. Being able to work with animals everyday in class only better creates a self confidence that has to be grown. If you're looking for an education in the medical technologies field this is the place! It is a private college so prices will be a little higher than a university but you get what you pay for. I'm not sure the reason for the negative reviews. It is an accelerated study program on the quarter system and they have a zero tolerance absence policy which may have caused problems for some. My experience has been quite amazing! The student to teacher ratio is lower than you'll find anywhere. All of the instructors and staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. They'll almost bend over backwards to make sure you have every tool and opportunity you need to be successful. Also I have to mention the job placement rate they have after graduation. In the field I'm studying it is a 100% employment rate. The lowest placement among the fields is around 95%. You really can't beat that!Philip Sewell

My wife has attended this school, did everything go smooth, no, but any school that you attend after high school is not going to go smooth. Look, this school like all other schools of higher education, has issues, and those issues are being worked out, worked out for the good of the school, which in turn benefits the students. You go to school to get a higher education, not to party. Working in the medical profession, you need to have your game face on not your clown face. The medical profession is no joke, this is serious, your dealing with peoples lives. The nursing program is unorganized and they just want your money. The dean is no help and is always on the side of the professors. Sometimes we don’t have any direction. Class times were all over the place. They don’t unlock blackboard until the Monday that classes start which makes it hard to plan your life. They tell us stuff last minute and expect us to comply. Months into the program they just now tell us we need to have updated immunization forms when they we’re supposed to keep track of them in the beginning. Do not waste your money. Medquest changed my life in so many ways! When I didn’t know what I would do after not getting into my hygiene program I instantly started looking into other options and Medquest can across my Facebook for different programs that could be completed in less than a year, and Boom! Started in May of this year in my Dental assisting program, The best decision of my life ! Joy and Desireé was my absolute favorite! they deserve a raise & praise! They made sure to go over the material again if we needed more time to learn it. I would highly recommend anyone who is wanting to make a change in their lives to find a program at the school and complete it, it’s manageable. Financial aid does everything they can for you to make sure you can successfully complete your program without stressing over money. The program never failed me once! I absolutely loved this school. I graduated in 2017 for Dental Assisting and I am now enrolled for the LPN July classes. The staff went over and beyond to accommodate me. I am extremely excited about my new journey. Update Alert!!!!!! If I could give 10 stars I would. Of course with any school you have a few bumps along the way, but I must say the Nursing experience has been amazing. The accountability and educational standards were are amazing. The instructors have taken their time to be sure that you understand what each class is about . Having teachers who are actively working in the nursing field, working in the School and going to school themselves gives you the push to never give up. I have 7 weeks till completion. It was not easy, financially nor mentally with 4 children and going through divorce, but when you walk in those doors you understand that you can accomplish ANYTHING because of the role models standing in front of you. Excellent school! I am a recent graduate of the Medical Assisting Program and I loved it! The instructors are the best, they are kind, patient and very intelligent. They have so much passion for teaching that you cant help but to learn. The school is very clean and organized. Everyone is helpful and kind. I was nervous about going back to school and starting a new career at 44 years old. It was the best thing I have done for myself in a very long time. No matter your age, if you are considering medical or dental assisting you must check this school out. Another thing I really liked about the process is that there were no high pressure salesperson. Terrible program, the cost is easily 4x more than anywhere else and the knowledge they offer is no more than a basic 6 week long course. They say that you can receive college credit at their program. That is a lie. If you are looking to be a vet tech I would stay clear of this "school"Mark Glass

Very upset with this place! My husband and I brought our 3 month old German Shepherd puppy here to get an X-ray of one of her legs because she was limping. Turned out that she had fractured her leg from jumping off the back of the couch. They told us that she would need surgery within the next day or two and that it would cost $2,500! With that being said, our immediately thought was, we don’t have that kind of money. So, I sold my car today. I sold my car to make sure that we had the money to get the surgery that she needed. It took 3 days to get the money together, just 3 days. My husband brought her in to see about getting the surgery there since I sold my car. Now they are saying the surgery may not be needed since it is ‘starting to heal’. They are also quoting us on twice the cost as we were originally given! It’s a little odd to me that now that we have the money, they aren’t going to get her the surgery that she needs. She has an appointment there for next week, 5 days from now, to see how it has ‘healed’. For being a ‘teaching hospital’, this place sure charges more than they should! When we brought her in 3 days ago, it cost us $387 to get an X-ray of her leg. My dogs mean the world to me and I would do anything for them, seeing how I sold my car to get the money for the surgery, that they may not even do!Sara Korosa

I took my dog in late at night for an eye issue. The student that did Duke's initial check was very friendly and professional. He and the doctor came in to let me know what was wrong with Duke and to let me know they wanted to check out his eye a little closer. One of the tests would cost an additional $30 and they checked with me before performing it. The next morning I received a follow up call to see how Duke was doing and to see if I had any questions. When I went in I was worried because I had heard they were pricey. My total bill including the eye drops was cheaper than Duke's last appointment at a local vet when he had an ear infection. I love my primary vet, but I won't hesitate to use Purdue again for after hours or weekend emergencies! On a side note googling dog ailments is about as effective as WebMD – Duke only had conjunctivitis, but the internet convinced me he'd be blind by morning.Alexis Hoffman

This place is more concerned with making money than your animals health. I was hopeful, when the new equine facility was completed, that things would be different, but it may be worse. Dr. Olave did a terrible job during our most recent emergency visit. Now you're not allowed in the exam rooms anymore, to witness how they are treating your animal. We have given them several chances to make a positive impact for all of our farm animals and pets over the span of 8 years. We also stay away from their partner facilities, which includes ALL WEST CENTRAL VETERINARIAN CLINICS. Dr. Couch almost killed our dog due to medical negligence and Dr. J Anderson completely dismissed our concern for another pet who ended up having heart abnormalities (which is the concern I brought him there for).S. Dr. Herrmann and the staff are very knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. They have treated my last 6 dogs, and I would have no problem recommending them for your pet. They are also a large animal vet. I believe they have a furrier on staff and can shoe your horse. All in all, they work hard to distinguish themselves above all the other local local vets. They don't need commercials, flyers or open houses, word of mouth is all they need.TJ Tryon

We have been going there for years. Our personal preference is Dr. Kelly but we have seen all of them. Very caring toward your animals and extremely compassionate to the owners. We have seen them for puppy checks all the way to putting down a beloved pet. We won’t go anywhere else. Sometimes you have to wait to get an appointment but I promise it’s worth it.Amy Lutz

This year my dog had blastomycosis, and then lymphoma. The doctors and staff were kind, supportive, and took time to answer my many questions and concerns. I was a client of this animal hospital for 8 years and following an awful customer service experience will no longer be one, nor would I recommend this hospital to others. After an appt, a specialty serum was prescribed for my dog. When I picked up the serum (a year's supply, costing $550), I was given no instructions and asked for them. I was told a vet tech would call me. Instead of a vet tech calling me, I received a call from the front desk rudely telling me that they send a text telling me I needed to pick up the serum in the first place. I never received this text, and I understand that sometimes text get lost, but this is not the way to handle it. A simple call to get scheduled would have been more appropriate. As the conversation continued telling me why I was wrong, I was told I was just mad I wasn't going to get my way and she hung up on me. No appointment, no instructions, and no idea what to do with this years supply of serum. I went back to the clinic to return the serum and was told by a different front desk person that they would dispose of it but would not process a return for the medication and I could go away. When I expressed that she was being dismissive and not hearing me, the response was "sorry". If ownership would like to contact me about how they would like to resolve this, that would be appreciated, but I will not be dealing with the front desk any longer.Erica Walters
