My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I am thankful for you all. Anyone who wants to go to college for Business or just in general, go to SJVC. They got you covered and they support your every step and decision. They help you become ready for excellency and, help you find a job that you will love and if that job doesn't work out for you they will go over and above to help you succeed and find a position you want and love. I'm in the midst of the program and just love it!! The teachers and staff are fantastic and it feels like they have become my extended family. They care and want you to succeed. They offer many resources to help if you hit a road block. It's a very professional environment and they continue to train you on maintaining professionalism. Attending SJVC has been a wonderful experience for me. The overwhelming support, love and time that everyone spends on their students is immeasurable. My instructor Dr. Warman is an angel. I am currently in the vet tech program( just finished term 1 and starting term 2) here are a few things I wish I knew about the program before I started. UPDATE!!! STRONGLY suggest getting your generals done else where!!! Almost done with term 2 and Looking back, the program would be soo much easier if you were just taking the vet core classes. Seriously.. if you are really thinking about going here fresh out of high school and think you are going to be fine with the work load you are in for a rude awakening.. just please take my advice and get your generals done somewhere else. You will actually enjoy your time here if you are just taking the vet core classes because the vet related classes and the generals work load at the same time is extremely stressful because again you will be taking roughly 20 credit hours( that’s general classes and vet core classes) AND the material is very rushed. -curriculum is extremely rushed -instructors are a hit or miss (3/5 instructors were really great and knew what they were talking about and we’re able to explain really well, other 2 did not know the material and did not know how to effectively teach/explain/ or answers any questions about the material they were teaching. Pretty much had to self teach in both classes) -the parking situation is a hot mess. Parking on campus is extremely limited and the street parking is a joke. -The remediation assignments (Student services assigns you an extra assignment on top of your homework in whatever class for being 15+ minutes late or missing the class or leaving 15+ minutes early ie. Handwritten 100 bullet points on the slides of the power point you missed. The instructor then has to sign off on it and you turn it into student services no later than 1 week of the absence/tardy) is extremely unnecessary and just adds more stress. -But all in all still a better program than any of the other schools I was looking into before I started the program. I’m still loving what I am learning about and the hands on labs are amazing. My classmates and I are extremely close and working together and helping each other study is a must to succeed in every class. If you do find yourself struggling there are so many resources the school provides to help you ie. free tutoring from a peer tutor, tutoring from your instructors per request via emailing them. Scheduling an appointment with the Student success coordinator (helps you plan your study schedule and helps with testing stragies). Just know this is a tough program because it’s rushed and you WILL be taking anywhere from 12-20 credits hours. ( this is decided based on if you have transfer credits from other colleges ie. math 1010, Biology1010, college writing, etc. I was taking 20 credit hours. I did not choose this, your schedule will be chosen for you by the school) and you will be eating, living and breathing veterinary medicine for the next 2 years. ( also I want to add that it is STRONGLY recommended that you DONT have a job. At least in 1st term. In orientation they go more in-depth about this. A lot of my classmates including myself quit our full/ part time jobs after 1 month in the program because it was too much) If this is something you think you can handle then it is definitely worth it!Kaitlyn Hart

This school has all the technology you could ever want, and provides a lot of support. I wish I could have afforded to go there. That’s the only downside, is the really high price. I should add, the price is high for a reason. They buy top of the line technology to teach their nurses and vet techs (those are the only things I’ve seen myself, and I am 100% sure they put the money into their other programs, too.) My current financial situation makes the school unaffordable, but the price is 100% worth it. I was going to make myself afford it until I was told about a deposit. I WAS shocked by the $400+ deposit they required during orientation (for the LVN program.) I wasn’t told about it except less than a week before orientation. There was really no iltime for me to prepare. My financial aid advisor, Vanessa, was AMAZING and tried everything to make the school more affordable. My academic advisor, Nikia, was the BEST. She really helped to make me feel comfortable and helped teach me more about the program.Jessica Laroche

The program I was in (vet tech) was great for the most part! However there was a lot of bumps in the 2 years and disorganization when I was there. Teachers were a hit or miss you could get a great one and would love that class, or you would get one you dreaded and never wanted to go to class. Being the first class to graduate from that program we didn't get all the amazing equipment that the students have now. This program over all is a great experience because when you are struggling or need help you can find teachers always doing tutor sessions or the LRC always is willing to help you learn things as well. they are doing the best they can to make sure things run smoothly from now on. I would recommend this course now because it seems like things will run smoother now that they learned from passed mistakes with my class.Allison Kunic

The administration is not interested in offering equal access to education for parents who are looking to get one. The college is not interested in reestablishing the on-campus child care center. Also the administration knew the science building chemistry hoods were not functioning properly for years and never let students know. The professors are incredible but if you are a mother good luck because the college doesn't care that in order to access education, women with children (those who require an education for a chance to improve their children's future!) need some equitable student services. Don't take my word for it scroll through the reviews. Most reviewers are male even though majority of students who attend the college are women. Read into it what you will but the facts remain that the college has a child care center on campus but refuse to renovate it even though property taxpayers agreed to pay for it (measure g 2004).Melissa Martinez

The college incorrectly listed me as a non-California resident. When I attempted to fix this, I found that I could not get in touch with ANYONE from the business offices. Eventually, they started having a debt collector call me because I wanted to sort out the residency issue so that I would not be charged nearly $1000 for my classes. This has been going on for months now, I attempt to call their offices almost every week and no one answers me. I'm beginning to suspect that they are just trying to force me to pay the non-resident fee so that they can get some extra cash. All in all, I have had a horrible experience with the administrative services, and if I could get on the line with anyone, I would have been happy to have paid the appropriate tuition months ago.Laura Israel

Overall, the colleges is good. However, other colleges are doing much better. $ stars for the efforts in trying to become better. Recently they have started to work on the new Gymnasium building. Teachers and professors are good but they are very diverse. The teaching style of all the teachers differ and they might not be ok with everyone. So choose your class wisely. Overall the crowd is good but sometimes you might find some not so friendly people. I am not sure about the safety. I was a student back in 2018. Came back for the spring 2022 semester, and the "president" Ms.Katrina VanderWoude, has ran this place directly into the bottom of the barrel. I remember when President Larry Frank was here. Good times. He was amazing. I never seen the problems I see now when he was here. Anyone else would have handled the pandemic better than VanderWoude. This used to be my favorite school, I was always saying to family and friends how much I loved trade tech. Well that time has passed. The outside of campus is filthy, the sheriffs are rude, they don't open the gates in the morning as they should, website is hardly updated, bookstore is garbage, no help for students in terms of supportive services etc. Its no wonder enrollment is low. LACCD can blame Ms.VanderWoude for that. The only upside is the professors. And yes I am fully aware Ms.VanderWoude is "Dr" but since lacks respect for students and staff then I will lack respect for her. Trade tech is my home school but I will be switching it to ELAC. That campus has surpassed trade tech in every possible way and I love going there for classes. I hope VanderWoude gets replaced soon for the sake of the campus.Karina Gomez

I am currently in the third semester taking the carpentry program. Los Angeles Trade Technical College is a great school. October will be 3 years that I have been attending this college. I also got my GED through Trade Tech.The majority of the professors and staff are very respectful and kind. Update I finished the carpentry program and found a job in the construction field with great pay. I would definitely recommend Los Angeles Trade Tech Technical College to someone that wants to learn a trade or just take some classes. If you do decide to go put all your effort in your studies it will pay off.Michael Valdez

I'd like to think that because of Covid, there is a lack of help from this college. I have been trying my very best for the last month to do everything myself without the help from any employees at this college. I have not been contacted regarding how to get enrolled, registered, what classes I need, financial aid, etc. I have been struggling since I have submitted my application to this college. You basically have to figure out everything on your own which isn't hard for me to do because I was walked through the steps from my previous college who actually took the time to help me out. While I understand quite a few things, there are some things that I don't understand and that I have questions about but getting into contact with anyone at this college is very difficult. Even through emails, no one responds. This college lacks the skill for helping their future students. I believe that I have done everything necessary in order to be a student but getting in touch with a counselor is the biggest problem. Making an appointment with a counselor via zoom, is quite a struggle and I have messaged quite a few employees at the college but yet, I still haven't received any responses. I am about to give up and just try somewhere else although this college is very convient for me, it's not worth the struggle and hassle at this point. 😔Mary McDonald

Great atmosphere. Their financial aid office needs help though. I started my fasfa around May and I'm trying to get in for the fall. I sat down with the students that help you with the fasfa form online so I don't do it wrong. I had to wait for them to approve it. They told me to bring my parents IRS info, even though I used the retrieval tool. I had to do a dependent verification form. Turned in copies of those. Then asked for my W-2. Then they asked for another verification form. Just constantly asking me for things I turned in. It sometimes takes them weeks to let you know what's next. So I learned the hard way the previous year that they ask for these forms every semester. They didn't tell me until I was applying for another semester. First year student trying to figure them out. I lived in El Cajon when they were asking for forms making this process extra annoying. Apparently they had to restart the process for the new semester. Don't ask me why but this is the most annoying part of school. I advise making multiple copies of whatever they ask for IRS FORMS, W-2, AND TAX INFO. They'll ask for it next semester and start it months before to avoid lines. I'm grateful there is a financial office though or school would be ROUGH! Thank you. EDIT: THEY MOVED TO A 270PERSONAL

City College is represented by the San Diego transit people, MTS, as City College Trolley Station, a cave, possibly Plato's, remarkable for grime and an expansive range of social behaviors not common in the quiet halls of ivy and higher education. The City College Trolley Station, is, of course, the gateway of San Diego's always expanding skidrow that could be seen as starting here and continuing to 25th and Commercial. San Diego and the real estate community promotes skidrow as being the East Village, but it's not really so much a village as it is a refugee camp. And it is getting bigger every day and will one day engulf all of downtown and possibly as far into the neighborhoods as Hillcrest and North Park. HOT Mess. Vaccination Mandate rescinded. Jeopardizing everyone's health in hopes that more students will attend. Butchering of Food Security Program to make it unusable and pointless. Campus construction underway. ZERO signage. There are NO services available after 5. You can't even access the cafeteria area. If you're taking an evening class I hope you bought your own food, that doesn't need reheating or you can afford to buy something off site. Day 1 Air conditioning failures. Water fountains dysfunctional already. SMC is not at all ready to have students back on campus. And SMC does NOT care. Or rather SMC CARES… ALL ABOUT PROFITS. The campus here at SMC has gone quite the transformation in the past few years. The Science building and the Welcome center are completely new and look great. The only problem with the campus is the parking and lane infrastructure needs an upgrade. The lines of cars around campus affect the local community in a negative way. As a local resident, I think the campus should invest in buying more parking and perhaps adding turning lanes. Ubers used to block Pico for blocks but they fixed that. The campus is beautiful and even boasts a fourth of July fireworks show in the summers!! I just wish they would invest in the local traffic and help us regular folks out.Madie Parbaz

I am a homeless student. I have had many issues getting my financial aid money. Since the semester started I wake up on the street in tears. I feel very defeated with this process. They withhold aid for weeks on end after classes have already started. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL! They recently had an audit and I gave all bad reviews mainly because of financial aid. I’m exhausted, not motivated to engage in my full time course load. This is why some people make bad decisions in life. A system that does NOT have my best interest as a priority. I transferred here because it offered a program I wanted to take. The first time, the class was canceled due to there being not enough sign ups. Fine. That was Spring and now we’re in the Fall semester. Once again, the class was canceled. It was canceled 1 week before the 2nd session was to start. I now only have 2 classes (a 3rd one was dropped because it overlapped the class that was eventually canceled). My teacher is cool so, no complaints. My online class…. it takes my teacher 2-3 weeks just to grade your work. I’ve done online classes at other schools and was graded within the week. I’m going back to my previous school. Just going to have to change my concentration.Jarmaine M

I chose this college because it was ranked as one of the top ten community colleges in California for online courses. Diversity is great, many certificates and degrees offered, and the counselors I’ve spoke with over the phone were polite and helpful. They wait until more than a month into the semester to process student loans – and the form should specify that it’s for the year. I filled it out thinking it was only for the semester. No return emails from financial aid in the matter. Overall I would recommend WLAC, but their admissions and financial aid offices need to work on responding to students.Jason G

The school was okay. The admission office is terrible. I enjoyed the professors they have great ones. Working here was bad there’s nepotism and favoritism allowed. The staff isn’t the nicest I think student should be respected a bit more and heard. As an employee here I know I tried to help as many students sincerely. The process needs to be more efficient. Best looking community college in california, not to mention location, so gets 5 stars for that. Is a bit of a workout if you are on a bike or walking though since it's sort of built into the side of a hill. Make sure you use a map since seems part of the campus blend into the surrounding nature so can get lost. As far as attending could improve since when I attended seemed all courses always full so had to sign up for classes early or will always be on a wait list. Also, long lines to see counselors. Nice library, could hang around in there all day, though could use longer hours.Jaime M

I have to say this school has been one of the worst experiences. I’ve had great teachers but the other departments; financial aide, IT support and almost every other department is a nightmare. Of course their famous excuse is “COVID” but that isn’t the problem it’s people not wanting to do their jobs. Graduated here in 2018. Yes the school is not perfect. but it is affordable and offers all sorts of academic programs for students & for those who are interested in learning a new skill. A few issues with the homeless people who easily make their way in the school's restroom and leave all their mess inside. A bit more security is also needed because of the area surrounding the school, but overall it's a good community college. Looking back now, I miss every moment I got to spend here. Beauty and peace would describe this campus. A very serene environment on the hill overlooking a big part of Los Angeles. Large acres of grass with everything looking like in order and clealiness. Towards sunset you get some incredible pictures of the beachfront. People also seeme very calm and helpful. Starbucks and other food and drink places all around the campus. This place is more church than it is a university. Undergrads are required to earn an additional 18 units, 9 credits of Humanities & 9 credits of Religion, on top of your traditional 120 units for a Bachelors. As well as 14 hours of “convo” each semester (look it up). Every staff / faculty member who works here complains about there pay to anyone who will listen. Student advisors and counselors will try to impress upon you their administrative powers. Student Veterans: Both, as a Yellow Ribbon student and (at about 3/4 of the way thru) as a VocRehab (Ch.33) student, Ella from student accounts would withhold all my grants and loans until the government paid the tuition it owed on my behalf. This place is known for its vistas not their academics. You won’t build much of a portfolio to show employers just by going here. Students in the Arts programs here focused more on who to know rather then what to know. Very “Right Wing” policies. Good WiFi in the buildings, not so much outside.Timothy Mitchell

I got accepted to two schools but wanted to start with a summer course at Pepperdine to see how it goes. I enrolled in one class and before the class started I asked professor for the syllabus, and few additional questions. He emailed me he would gladly speak to me about the class I want to take and gave me the phone number to call. I am not a native speaker and I have an accent. When I called, he was very rude, asked me who I am, and then he said I got the wrong number and hanged up on me. I withdrew the class immediately to get my money back and I decided to go to different university instead, with better reputation. There are other better schools out there.Mila Rosey

I was very happy with Kris Jackson she did my tour and always answered me when I had any questions. I started in January of 2021 still in the mist of COVID. I had a good experience, be prepared NOTHING IS EASY you have to study study study. I feel like most of the teachers there really do want to see you do good and will genuinely try to do a lot to help. I struggled a lot but there is always tutoring and someone willing to help. With every school comes drama that has nothing to do with school but just to know. There’s a lot of commitment when signing up so just know what your getting yourself into. The school teaches you a lot you need to know and has plenty of resources if you need more help. Only thing I wish I knew was more things that we could’ve been taught for the “real world” like a lot we get taught we need to know but there is some small things we have to know like trying to find veins by ourself or little tricks other than that I had a good experience. I would recommend if you are able to commit to a long hard program it is very rewarding in the long end.Emily Pham

As a former graduate of VTI and soon to be practicing veterinarian medicine for about a year I cannot thank the staff and mentors enough for caring and teaching me the skills that I use in everyday practice. They were always so thoughtful and there when you needed a helping hand wether it was something as big as tutoring before all classes started or as small as just small words of advice to keep students going through the program. The classes are geared towards exactly what you need to know and all the teachers seem to be very knowledgeable in which subjects they teach. If you are as lucky as me throughout the program you may even adopt your own 4 legged bestfriend you met during kennel duty!! 🙂Haidyn Craig

The Vet Tech Institute is an incredible school that teaches the reality of the animal career field. It teaches self discipline, personal instinct to trust, and an incredible amount of respect for the workers in any animal field. The staff are so incredibly patient and truly show their passion to teach and to love the animals we work with on an everyday basis. Being able to work with animals everyday in class only better creates a self confidence that has to be grown. This institute ensured me a successful career working with animals that no other school could do. I happily recommend it to anyone who is driven and ready to put in the work!Kelcey Harris

I work in the entertainment business. OK, more specifically: I promote heritage, established music artists to radio and media, some of the biggest household names in music and rock & roll. I book interviews, promote tracks to radio, share the news on social media and more, but enough about me. I worked for the biggest major record company on the planet from 2000-2013, they have IT and tech folks doing everything for you (technically speaking for your desktop, laptop, phone etc.) when you're on the payroll. Sweet, right? When I was downsized in 2013, I bought a new Mac and dragged it along with me for a decade or more. It finally starting moving more slowly, taking longer to warm up, to search, log on, everything. My girlfriend of 15 wonderful years (she's also a music promotion specialist, in fact way better than I am) found Elijah Dittersdorf and Mom's Computer through a referral online — and he jumped through all kinds of crazy hoops of fire to get her new laptop up to speed — the main issue being transferring her FileMaker Pro and updating her files into the new era, to be workable, quick and easy to access. Was I glad she went first with the new laptop scenario and Elijah — by the time I was on board to get a new laptop, Elijah had figured out all the above and quickly applied it to my scenario with a new laptop — that he helped me purchase, set-up and tweak to perfection. Mom's computer is the BEST name for a business — hell, we are ALL overwhelmed by how fast technology is moving today and often kicking us around and intimidating us to keep up and stay current. Yeah, I have issues with tech, ha ha. Elijah is a master at interpreting your needs, viewing the situation and delivering exactly what you need. Best of all — what I call "bedside manner" — his customer service, his attitude, his human interaction with the client and understanding — is top of the mountain excellent — the best there is in a world gone cold when it comes to customer/client relations. I was seriously dreading opening up my old MacBook Pro…Elijah's guidance and work on my spiffy new model was exemplary, I can now get back to the JOY of my work, not worrying about dealing with a sluggish computer that's stuck in slow motion — Elijah and Mom's Computer receive my highest recommendation!Elliot Kendall

Called so many numbers I found on Google for some issues with my new Windows 11 Computer. In my case there's nothing wrong, wife & I needed some education. We want to get this right, save files correctly, Zoom the grandkids, and feel comfortable that there is a modern working computer for daily use, as we get even older! HP Support was ok, but more geared to a problem. And yes, we had Apple for years & AppleCare will only teach Apple. I still need to install and work with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc. And I was able to get a 27' touchscreen with 16gb of memory and 1 Tb of storage for 1/3 of the cost of the Apple. I contacted Mom's before the purchase, they work with Apple and Windows, so I knew what to expect, how they could help us get our documents & all the pictures of the kids and grandkids on the new one. As well as smart daily usage and how to avoid scams, etc. Not to pricey, does cost, but what a relief to call and not get a robot and then have to re-explain your whole situation. Here's the kicker, the tech, also chatted with my oldest daughter who has mostly helped us and is just too busy these days. She talked to Ray about what we do and need. Was so nice and helpful to have Rebecca in the loop. And now we're set for a while, have a comfy place to call for issues or and if something happens to me, my wife has someone to call for the computer. Now I can get back to what I really like to do here in my retirement, take a nap!Bob Joice

We often do a Zoom screen share for my tech stuff with Elijah but this time needed to come and bring my laptop because I tried to update my sorta new HP Windows 11 Surface Pro and it froze up. Uhh. Saves me again. New update installed, phewww. I met the Mom's Computer Team at the Tech Classes for Adult Learners they give at the LGBT Center. I do not recommend the school to anyone. I did not take the certified medical assistant exam right away and when I call them to ask them about it they said it was too late and I would not be able to take the exam. This is in fact not true. I found out I have 60 months from the time of graduation to take the exam. I misplaced my diploma and in order to get it they required me to come in in person and pay in cash and then return to pick it up. I need this diploma in order to sit for the exam and I work Monday through Friday 8 to 5. They are completely unwilling to work with me or help me. This is unlike many of the other schools available. I was very young and had no guidance at the time and will never recommend the school ever to anybody.coco cook

What makes this school great is the Job Placement Assistant Advisor Christopher Aono, he's a very Optimistic Guy full of energy always ready to help the Students. Although I only met Mr. Aono for only a month he has been very helpful for placing me in a clinic to do my Externship. The class and professor Dr. Rivera was great ! But lack of communication with students is what this school needs to fix on. It can be messy at times how they work. They give out checks and my last one was never given because it was given to the wrong student. I tried calling the school and they would transfer me to different line and it seems like no one picks up the phone at all. They just have you jumping around and it’s like no one can help you out after all and you gotta find your solution to your problem yourself.jenipher reyes

The worst group of teachers & counselors I have ever experienced. When a student has trouble passing classes they take over and over and over…says something about those teachers. It's a difficult program and not for everyone. That being said I love the small class sizes and hands on learning that I have received. I was part of Sabio cohort 118, as part of Veterans Affairs new VetTec pilot program. Pros: Extremely nice teachers – who are patient and they work with you to get things going, they encourage you to ask questions. I (obviously) don't have issues expressing myself, so it was fine, but I find that others who are more camera shy or question shy were able to ask questions. Enough alumni who were hired. We would have a lot of alumni return and talk to us via zoom session, in a meeting. It was odd because we would literally had to pause what we are learning in order to listen to how someone got their job, repeatedly. what they struggle with, but after 3 or 4 people, you heard the same answers. Keep asking questions Keep going over the exercises. Reach out to people in LinkedIn. These are actually really great sound advice for every and any industries, but I'm not sure we had to listen to it each week. One week, they had the prior cohorts show us a demo of a project they built. My friends who participated in Sabio last year said, the project was cool, but most people did such little on it. I failed an assessment, then another one. I was told it's okay as long as I get to figure it out. Vettec requirement according to Sabio said since I'm on academic probation, I am released from the program. But I was told I can continue if I get a loan or if I use my other VA benefits such as the GI Bill, chapter 35 or Voc Rehab. Videos are – hands off, from someone who studied film and worked in production, just bad. I'm not talking in production value. I'm saying it's not that affective. For example, we learn how to code "Hello world!" which seems to be a coding standard when it comes to easy samples, then the assessment would be something definitely different from what we have been doing in our classwork, or the exercises. I might not be smart but I have three degrees and working on the 4th one, so I know I'm not stupid. It's just recorded zoom session. Follow along, then you get an assessment. I met a few friends who said they graduated and they didn't get jobs, and they felt like they didn't really learn anything. they tell us, it's designed for us to go search for things. But I was research assistant for a nonprofit then a fairly large company. Why not teach us how to research? I felt that they were either overwhelmed with the number of students. Being on the Q waiting list in the beginning felt like I was at the DMV. I definitely know more about coding and JavaScript now than I did before summer of 2022 started. Not recommended for everyone. Definitely not recommended for someone paying out of their pocket. I would definitely talk to them and make your own decisions. Most people I interacted with in Sabio were extremely pleasant. I am glad I made a lot of friends as well. I wish well for them. If you are interested in coding, definitely check out w3 school, or javascript by doing a google search. Watch some YouTube Videos, and have a strong purpose of joining. That would not only give you a better understanding of what you want to do.Tae Yoo

I was part of C60 sabio, when signing up with Sabio there were statistics of how great their program was and how they helped a substantial amount of graduates find jobs once the cohort was completed. Unfortunately for my cohort and myself this wasn’t the case. Out of the 12 members of cohort 60 less than half of us are in a full time coding position. Our instructor for the cohort was seemingly pushed out near the end of our time which left us with hardly any help for job prospects and assistance. Since our instructor who had worked with us on a daily basis was gone, there was nobody left who could truly speak for us with potential employers. I have since found employment in a field unrelated to coding but sadly am still left with $20,000 of student loan debt that was used to fund a course that ended up offering no value to me in my career. Recently, Sabio sent a survey to track where recent cohort grad were in their professional lives so they could use people working full time in marketing. I requested to not be part of their marketing as their course did not help me and have since been removed from their slack channel that was promised to stay open for alumni as an extra resource. They now have a program in place that requires no money upfront but instead they will take a portion of your salary once fully employed. Lucky for those new students who want to take the risk but for me and many of my cohort members, Sabio left us in debt with no help to actually find a coding career. EDIT: Responding to the owner. I never once went to an interview without a clean shave and a suit, I was business major in college trust me I know how to dress for an interview. Actually I even wore full suits for the practice interviews we had in class. As for the former alumni, I saw the email I sent to him while cleaning my inbox and he didn't even give me the time of day. He said he didn't believe I had enough of a finance/accounting background but when I asked him to let me show my knowledge I was given no further responses. Funny that I am about to sit for my comprehensive CPA exam but your amazing alumni connection gave no help or even took the time to get to know me and my skills. Overall a decent course but being $20,000 in debt over something that has proved worthless since I wouldn't let them use me for marketing purposes is rough.Justin Richard Verducci

Responding to the Owner Liliana Aide Monge. Thank you for your quick response. Assuming I want to take this class just for my personal knowledge is completely false. When I spoke to Mr. Ali, I made it clear I was in the near future, giving up my current career and wanted to attend Sabio full time for a career change. My current career in the span of 10 years had me traveling the world so giving up all that just for personal knowledge just wouldn’t make any sense. I do understand Sabio is committed in helping recent graduates find jobs. But isn’t it just as important for the recent grad to do their due diligence in searching for work on their own? Maybe I have a friend with a tech company overseas and all that is asked of me is to gain the knowledge and I’d be hirable. What would it matter if Sabio or the recent grad found the job first? All that would matter is the gained knowledge from Sabio and the employment. Telling a person they can’t attend just because of their location is beyond me. If this is all online what should it matter? I have the same access to internet and information as anyone stateside. I requested a call from admissions and it didn’t go as I thought it would. There’s a time difference between my current location and Sabio, obviously I new this before. I was told that Sabio requires all future students to be stateside. For a school calming to be veteran friendly, it seems as admissions isn’t privy to know a lot of vets take live online classes all over the world. I was also told it’s an intensive 12 hours a day class, again something I was already aware of. This was said, I feel in favor of admissions telling me the requirements are for students to be stateside and somehow it’s more convenient. If it’s online why should it matter where the student is live-streaming from? If I have the internet access and the willingness to adapt to the time zone, why should Sabio tell me whether or not I can attend? We have been taking our dog Bella to Animal Medical and Dental Group for several years, and we could not be more pleased! The facility itself is extremely well-kept. It’s clear from the moment you enter that they take pride in keeping their lobby and examination rooms very clean and neat. Additionally, the entire staff is incredibly helpful, kind, and caring. Booking appointments over the phone is always a fast and easy process, which is very important to us since our dog is diabetic and has to have semi-regular glucose checkups. There has also been one emergency case when she first started insulin where she needed to be checked right away due to her looking and acting very lethargic, in which case they made time to check on her right away even though they were fully booked that day. Everyone on the staff is truly incredible, and we always feel listened to whenever we go. There has never been an instance where our thoughts and questions were not addressed and answered. All of the veterinarians are always mindful of our needs and concerns, and it’s very clear how much each of them cares about helping our beloved Bella. There are still so many more positive things we can say about the facility and staff, but in all, after trying several different veterinary facilities over the years with previous pets, Animal Medical and Dental Group is truly the best facility we have ever been to and will continue to go to for all of our dog’s needs.Ariella

I was visiting Hermosa beach and my dog was not feeling so well. I wish I found this place sooner before I called around to at least 20 different vet offices to get my dog an appointment. None of them could get my dog in until I finally called VCA and they were able to see me within 2 hours. From the moment I walked in, the staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond to help. I am happy to say my dog is feeling much better thanks to the vet and staff at this location. I have been to a lot of different vets and can honestly say this VCA location is one of the best offices I have ever been to. As a new puppy parent they completely covered all of my bases with their puppy care club package. It is basically an all inclusive year long service that covers all the puppy vaccinations, neutering, and other perks. I paid around $1700 and pay it off monthly with 0% interest. Totally worth it and this staff is so helpful! It's weird not being able to go into the office because of covid, but the staff here has it down and are great at communicating. Just have your phone on hand charged and ready as that will be your point of contact when your pup is in there. Would recommend this place to anyone who has a puppy they love!Alia Khan

At the time of this review, I'm a student that is almost finished with my schooling here. I am a part of the x-ray technician with medical assistant skills (XTMAS) program here, and I feel this is a good institution for learning this trade. The classwork involved quite a bit of homework, especially for the MA portion, but the instructors make themselves available basically every day for questions and possible tutoring along the way. I felt well-prepared for my clinical externship, and now that I've finished, I feel ready for my state licensing exam and the job that will follow. For anyone looking into the idea of starting here though, I'd definitely recommend not working while in school, if possible. If you have to work, part-time is gonna be your best option, so you still have time for homework. Overall, I'm glad I picked this school.Gabriel Nofer

When I found Gurnick Academy I did not expect to be invited to a community of caring coordinators and support staff. Very upset with this place! My husband and I brought our 3 month old German Shepherd puppy here to get an X-ray of one of her legs because she was limping. Turned out that she had fractured her leg from jumping off the back of the couch. They told us that she would need surgery within the next day or two and that it would cost $2,500! With that being said, our immediately thought was, we don’t have that kind of money. So, I sold my car today. I sold my car to make sure that we had the money to get the surgery that she needed. It took 3 days to get the money together, just 3 days. My husband brought her in to see about getting the surgery there since I sold my car. Now they are saying the surgery may not be needed since it is ‘starting to heal’. They are also quoting us on twice the cost as we were originally given! It’s a little odd to me that now that we have the money, they aren’t going to get her the surgery that she needs. She has an appointment there for next week, 5 days from now, to see how it has ‘healed’. For being a ‘teaching hospital’, this place sure charges more than they should! When we brought her in 3 days ago, it cost us $387 to get an X-ray of her leg. My dogs mean the world to me and I would do anything for them, seeing how I sold my car to get the money for the surgery, that they may not even do!Sara Korosa

I took my dog in late at night for an eye issue. The student that did Duke's initial check was very friendly and professional. He and the doctor came in to let me know what was wrong with Duke and to let me know they wanted to check out his eye a little closer. One of the tests would cost an additional $30 and they checked with me before performing it. The next morning I received a follow up call to see how Duke was doing and to see if I had any questions. When I went in I was worried because I had heard they were pricey. My total bill including the eye drops was cheaper than Duke's last appointment at a local vet when he had an ear infection. I love my primary vet, but I won't hesitate to use Purdue again for after hours or weekend emergencies! On a side note googling dog ailments is about as effective as WebMD – Duke only had conjunctivitis, but the internet convinced me he'd be blind by morning.Alexis Hoffman

This place is more concerned with making money than your animals health. I was hopeful, when the new equine facility was completed, that things would be different, but it may be worse. Dr. Olave did a terrible job during our most recent emergency visit. Now you're not allowed in the exam rooms anymore, to witness how they are treating your animal. We have given them several chances to make a positive impact for all of our farm animals and pets over the span of 8 years. We also stay away from their partner facilities, which includes ALL WEST CENTRAL VETERINARIAN CLINICS. Dr. Couch almost killed our dog due to medical negligence and Dr. J Anderson completely dismissed our concern for another pet who ended up having heart abnormalities (which is the concern I brought him there for).S.
