i came in for one reason to get job after graduation been going on two yrs feels like high school classes. Im a criminal Justice major and i like program except one huge thing it needs more hands traning so you prepared for the job once you graduate and not have move on for four degree and they need to have dorminties to live on i hardly see people on campus it almost empety they have two many campuses they need to have one and the paint falling off the school. I hoping i graduate and get job in but i feel unprepared to due the classes they made to if i knew this i would have gone out of state because these tech schools are scam been at midlands tech for my associates in arts degree if i was going for a different major i would be more thrild they have good health science program that gets job as soon as graduate due to the clinicals and broad certification test. some classes have been cancled to there harldy many students in eithermichael mcdaniel

The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

First and foremost, Norwalk Community College was the first two-year college known since 1960, and they have been serving and assisting students in achieving the school readiness you have always desired but if you have struggled at some point. NCC will assist you in overcoming your obstacles to the point where you feel smart, confident, and accomplished. This college is my top choice because it is affordable, not overcrowded, has a super clean and safe building, and has no historically known hate crime in the area, which is an A+ in today's environment. There is plenty of parking, as well as the best tutoring center, which is a lifeline for students who want to improve their grades or need assistance with the curriculum. NCC carry the highest standard. They have the best tutoring service and professors who are committed to assisting students. All you have to do if you need help navigating any area at NCC is ask. It's a good starting school but extremely disorganized with idiots for employees. Dr Apple or apfel is a complete and total moron. She is so ungodly useless. She is extremely disorganized no wonder all of the students hate her. She wouldn't shake our hands because she said that's how germs are spread. Get rid of this delusional troll! She made an appointment for 12 and then when we got there said it was for 4pm. Um hello!? This school is so DISORGANIZED. If you're willing to put up with complete chaos for two years then go here. Either believe the previous reviews of 'smelling like poverty and cigarettes', or understand that community college is the last place to find a living, breathing example of the American Dream. On top of that, NCC is the most well-funded community college, the most prestigious, and has the highest share of incredible professors than any other community college in the region. But it won't motivate you to succeed. You have to do that yourself. And if you do not find that drive within yourself in time, do not blame the college for your shortcomings. I do not recommend this school to anyone. There was a lot of grade school style homework and a broad spectrum of effort put in by my professors. Most of my homework was distributed digitally by the respective text book's website — NOT the professor. This created a huge disconnect when discussing homework issues in class. It was frustrating knowing my professors were not curating our homework, rather, it was being outsourced by a subsidized textbook. Their job is to educate, but remember they are there to make a profit. I could not afford my bill so they sold my debt to a collection agency.J s

My first college experience was here and it wasn't a particularly good one. The building is nice with a very comfortable atmosphere, though the parking lot is a nightmare. There is not WiFi through the entire building, which is infuriating for a student with an on campus class that is also entirely on the internet. Great school. but I think if we're paying $300.00 for a book and paying $8.00 on top of that for shipping a signature should be required from UPS and some type of insurance on it. I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

A good school where you get out what you put in. Many trains stop within walking distance and buses as well. Just like any college, depending on your major, you will find good and bad professors. So always make use of the rate my professor website. I had a very pleasant experience. The administration was more competent than other schools I went to and my issues were always solved within a reasonable amount of time. The facilities I had to use for my major were in even better condition compared to some four year schools. The wifi coverage was good. Plenty of cafeterias with the best one being in the E building. Plenty of food trucks with different types of foods. Lots of seating areas with electrical ports. The class scheduling was workable with enough sections to fit almost everyone. Can't speak for any other major but it felt like that overall. They are always hiring new adjuncts so it's not the same professor teaching that one section you need all the time that everyone says is horrible. Always stay on top of your things if you want to have them resolved quickly. That's the part you play in your college years. The hand holding stops after High School. All I can say is, relax a little and have some fun. At the end of the day grades won't show the strength of your character after all is said and done.Mounia B

It seems like professors like the one I got Professor Arnold who acts likes she is going through the motions and don't there . i felt I waste my time and money which I paid out of pocket in her class and is thinking about leaving the college. She is one of the worst teachers/professors i ever had . I think cause it a community college a lot of them are mad cause they can't teach in a four year college through out of the community colleges in NY LaGuardia is the best . Im currently in my last year at LaGuardia (majoring in business) and i have to say the Business department is full of AMAZING professors. Classes are really easy (most of them except accounting unless you're good at it) and the students are cool. I, personally, never talked to anyone or made any friends because I'm not an outgoing person. The school is constantly going under renovations and they just finished the new library and it looks AMAZING, as if it was a library from an ivy league. Food isn't that great but what do you expect, its school food [not free of course]. Think twice before attending this institution. I was enrolled to begin classes in the fall semester. One week before they began, DCTC contacted me saying they no longer offered the program that I signed up for. Again, ONE WEEK before classes began. This left me almost no time to scramble around looking for another school to attend for the fall semester. That kind of behavior is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. The whole process just felt off anyway. They were always slow to respond, they fought every step of the way when I presented transfer credits from another institution. I was somewhat relieved in a way knowing I wouldn't have to deal with them any further. What a waste of time.Adam

Didn’t have the best experience overall. The instructor for the automotive technology class was only genuine once while he was teaching me something. Every other time, there was sarcasm and rudeness when trying to ask him questions. Not to mention half of the kids (quote “kids”) in the class were constantly on their phones and messing around. I wouldn’t have minded, except that we were placed in groups, therefor graded as a group. Received my second degree here and they accepted a respectable number of credits from a previous college. Someone from admin called me a year or so after graduation and asked if I had gotten anywhere with my degree. When he found out what I was doing and where I had gotten in life he nearly dropped the phone. Thanks DCTC for sending me places in life I didn’t think were possible. I took Acting & Gymnastics classes growing up as a kid @ KCC; along with taking other performing arts enrichment classes @ Brooklyn College also while growing up, although Brooklyn College wasn't affiliated with my high school like KCC was. KCC has a great campus for a CUNY two-year college (one of the nicest in the CUNY system being right on Manhattan Beach) and is also the partner CUNY institute with my High School alma mater, Edward R. Murrow whom it operates the CollegeNow! program with. I spent my Junior and Senior years at Murrow taking KCC college-level courses taught by both Murrow faculty, and visiting KCC faculty (at Murrow) as well as commuting to the KCC campus from Murrow for additional classes that could only be taught on-site @ the KCC campus. It was EXTREMELY academically enriching to be able to enjoy a college level curriculum whilst still being in High School; and that was due directly to KCC's collaboration with my high school. My GPA went up as a result of the CollegeNow! program during my last two years at Murrow as did my SAT scores. I have KCC to thank for that. 👍👏👏👏👏Ben Schaeffer

Kingsborough CC has a very nice entertainment program, well-run and well-sited, with both indoor and outdoor venues. This year's 4-part post-pandemic return to their July outdoor series has been a real winner for the 3 weeks of it so far, with decent weather enhancing the winning combination. Performers have commented on how well-received they are when they come to perform there, from an enthusiastic staff that really respects their art, to receptive audiences. That reputation has allowed audiences to see a number of top-notch acts more than once there, as the artists appreciate that respectful treatment. There have been other events there, all of which were interrupted by COVID since it came around, so there will be needed time to get those back on track. There are cautionary protocols in place even now: those attending must provide proof of vaccination, with masks optional. Not sure of masking will or will not be required once the indoor events resume, but it certainly appears that the staff has kept up-to-date with everything necessary.N H Tanner

Went here during 2013-2014 for my associates in marketing, its an alright college. Tho my only bad points I remember from this is the intern job finder guy was really rude and I had other people who told me they had him too and he was rude to them as well. another bad point was one of the class counselors who made me take an unnecessary course and told me if i didn't take it i wouldn't get my degree only to find out that they lied and i didn't need to take that course (no refunds of course). Last bad point I remember was one of the job counselors who said they would help me find a job pretty much ghosted me after our first meeting. They gave such a wonderful speech about how I was going to get a lot of help finding a job and that i wouldn't be disappointed. well disappointment city here i came first class. total ghosted and never heard from after the second week of trying to talk to them. gave up trying to finding a job threw here. otherwise its an alright place but seriously have enough parking places that people taking classes here and no teacher saved parking spots for teachers who arent even there and we can see are sitting empty for most if not the entire day. Edit to respond to the owner: Sorry but I will not be using your "job finding services". After the first guy Matt Coulter if i remember his name right, was really rude and pretty much did absolutely NOTHING to help me when I had a problem with my internship. Then the job helper person I got to help me find a full time job litterly GHOSTED me, IE: never returning any phone calls, emails and was never there even tho I told they were there on the days they would be in, on 3 separate occasions I wasted my time trying to meet someone who just happened to "not" be there. This place was the worst college to go to. The counselors don't really help you. They just sign you up for any course they can just so they can quickly boot you out the door not caring to help you find classes for your major or even find a major at all. For the Danvers campus in particular, it's a very snobby, predominately white(and prejudice), unfriendly atmosphere. A lot of them also flow over to the Lynn campus so they bring their snobby attitudes there. The students are worse than the instructors though the instructors can be pretty stuck up themselves. That's just the type of community Danvers is. You will find most of the people who have the edge at this school AND of course speak highly of it are the predominantly white population. I took a Bio 101 class once, and the instructor said in front of the class that blacks usually don't do well because they come from a poor background and lack proper education. It really is not a good place to get your education. Also, a lot of classes they have wont transfer to another college such as their Bio 101 course. You may not know that, but be sure the classes you take are transferable. Be sure to follow up on Rate My Professors website to know if you have a good instructor or not otherwise it's a hit or miss on having a great successful academic year or not. The staff can be very unfriendly on the phone or in person when you go to any of their offices. When you attend this school, you better have direction on what you want to do because No one there is really going to help you unless you have a really good instructor. I transferred out to a better community college and it was one of the best choices I've ever made.Maximum Achievement

I have done four semesters at NSCC in the Criminal Justice program over the past two years. North Shore was a decent place for me to start my college education, as I feel like going to a full-fedged State University for four years is a massive scam and waste of money. Professor Koshivas and D'Agastino were great and I learned a great deal in their classes. The Danvers campus is very clean and modern and much nicer than the Lynn campus, which gave me the feeling of being in a dirty train tunnel. My issues with the school pertain to its administration. I had multiple issues when enrolling for classes during each semester. It seemed like no matter what some piece of paperwork would be lost. Once they even lost proof of one of my scholarships, luckily I had copies. When it came time to cut the check for the semester there would always be an issue with the amount. Sometimes we overpaid, sometimes we underpaid, it was as though they never got the final amount right on the first try. It was frusturating to deal with. Another issue I had was with the WiFi in the school. I would be in the library during the period between classes on my laptop trying to get work done, only to find the connection suddenly stopped and I could no longer connect to the internet. Some days were worse than others with this, it was very unpredictable as to when it would work and when it would not. I won't end up graduating from North Shore as of right now as I'm going the military route instead. However, there are some very good professors at this school, just be prepared to deal with a mediocre administrative department if you decide that North Shore is for you.Millard Fillmore

You will not have a college party life here. Instead, you will learn to be vigilant with surroundings, you will also learn the needed technical knowledge for future work, and small family style classmates relationships. I had great interaction with most professors here, they were caring and knowledgeable. But of course theres always someone who decides to hate and pick on students of certain cultures, which is fine because we all have to learn to deal with it sooner or later in the real world. I went to Rutgers for grad school. In comparison, Rutgers has awesome professors as well and the environment is more layback. The classes are definitely tougher at NJIT and professors seem to have more power over students. Rutgers though is a lot more resourceful for students, and has the largest network in the state.Bruce Chen

If I could, I would easily give York a ZERO RATING! NOTHING against the professors I’ve come across, but the school, policy and registrar/bursar staff and policy are ridiculous. I have been charged, during the pandemic I might add FULL. I clearly withdrew from summer classes and was literally ONE day passed the 100% refund date. After, I spoke continuously with bursar who kept sending me back to registrar. ALL professors assisted in submitting documentation showing I DID NOT CONTINUE in the ONLINE courses. Although I submitted required, and accurate paperwork documenting the WHY I could not complete the summer session, this greedy school is charging me ONE HUNDRED PERCENT for courses that their own records reflect that u withdrew from. Again, let me reiterate this was at the time of a Pandemic. I am now not able to register or do anything until this balance is paid. I think this school is deplorable, too much of the staff is unprofessional and not helpful At all! They’re dismissive and there is never any considerations or flexibility offered. If you can, avoid this school. Majority of the staff are unprofessional, lazy and do not seem to take their job seriously. Imagine emailing your professor and days, or even up to week plus passes by with no response. Some professors to avoid, Darrell Morris- extremely unprofessional acts as if he's paying us to be there and not the other way around. Does not actually teach anything, except the one time he was being evaluated. Does not respond to emails. Never comes on camera. Samuel Olagun- jeez where do I begin. Just do not take him. Gave the same grade to everyone in our group project even though 2 people did no work. They earned a free A. Overall the school is a nightmare and I am so happy that I have never had to step foot on this campus. They act like they are doing you a favor instead of their jobs. Lovely campus and easily seen from the street. The school is close to public transportation. The campus houses a high school and an elementary school. The grounds can use some work and some more public art installations. The cemetery is gated but plenty of history ardorns the head stones. The indoor exhibit of The Tuskegee Airmen is worth visiting the campus. The stundent art galley is the best. Ask security for accessibility for people with disabilities. Security at the gate will ask of I. D. He is very pleasant and awesome with directions. Most staff/faculty are helpful too. Better to get assistance from the more experienced staff. They are quite knowledgeable. The food is pricey for college life, but the chicken Marsalis, peas & rice, Mac & cheese and green beans with show string beans cut carrots was a tasty pleasant delight. The logistics of the buildings are identified in letter quadrants to help navigate your way through the buildings. For example 1B 106 would be on the 1st floor in the "B" section. If I could give this institution zero stars I would be. Don’t waste your time with GCC, they will waste your time and money without any doubt in my mind. Don’t fall for the “it’s a beautiful campus” thing, because for example the nursing program is going downhill according to some alumni I’ve spoken to, who are now clinical instructors. I would never even refer to this place as a school let alone a college. Being a transfer student, I have experience with other more legitimate schools and universities. Professors will tell you they are there to help, but seem somehow to make themselves as inaccessible as possible. I wouldn’t recommend their nursing program to anyone.Joe Cooper

Manor College is a really great place to get started with many, many different programs to get your foot in to the door and get wonderful experiences in any field you are thinking about going into. Its a smaller campus, so you get to know people a lot faster. Classes are a wonderful size so you don't feel crowded, and it makes getting to know your teacher on a more professional and personal scale. The staff at Manor are the most wonderful and helpful people you will ever meet, they actually get to know you and make sure you are staying on track of all of your assignments, and staying on track with courses so that you graduate on time. Manor has a wonderful basketball and track team, along with many other programs such as Student Senate and CAB (campus activity board), which I joined my first semester and plan on joining again. They have many, many different activities that they plan throughout the school year to make sure everyone is staying involved and getting to know other students and make new friends. They are very inclusive with many different types of people and talk about many different types of religion and ethics so that everyone gets a chance to feel special and then the other students stay more informed about other people lifestyles. Our president, President Peri is the most wonderful man you will ever meet and always make sure you are doing well, and getting to stressed and when ever you see him he makes time to just catch up with everyone and get feedback about everyones lives and classes. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at Manor College. The beautiful campus hosts the bright eyed individuals seeking to further their education and the dedicated faculty and staff do their best to provide an excellent experience for all students. The small class sizes foster strong connections in and out of the classroom, and almost everyone gets to know you by name. One would think that a relatively small school wouldn't be able to pull in talented professors and bright students, but all of my professors during my time here have many experiences and are amazing at what they do. The campus life office is dedicated to everything that happens outside of the classroom, and they have so many events for students, some of which I have been directly involved with, and you can tell that everyone deeply cares about what they do here. Manor is going to grow exponentially in the future, with a fantastic new President in Jonathan Peri, a man with a vision so great and connections so deep that Manor will most likely become not just the premier two year catholic college, but one of the premier four year catholic colleges. My son graduated from Manor College a couple of years ago. It was a very positive experience for him. He has ADD & Aspergers Autism; he didn’t want to tell the faculty so that he was treated the same as any other college student. The staff here is very easy for a student to talk to & gave my son any help he asked for. My son graduated with honors with his associate degree in accounting. For a small community college it is wonderful. Beautiful campus with a creek running behind the dorms & has resident Canadian geese which wander freely on the campus. It is located in the suburbs outside of the Philadelphia area. The college is affiliated with many other colleges & recently has started to offer bachelors degree programs besides their associate degree programs. They are known best for their Vet Tech program & their dental programs. They have their own farm & community dental center which are great for the students practical experiences.Evelyn

ASA College gave me the opportunity to get my first degree in Medical Assisting in the USA, and also to gain useful experience through work in the admission office. With a respectable teacher-to-student ratio, significant public and private funding, and a central location in New York City, the learning experience has been covered by many publications and studied by experts. However, BMCC also suffers from a large rise in remedial education, lack of freshman retention, and overcrowding. Due to its larger base of capital compared to most other two-year colleges, expansion of new campuses during the rebuilding of Fiterman Hall was possible. Several trailers are still used as classrooms to this day in order to help expand capacity. Internal programs have also been created or expanded to help with academic advisement, provide online access for registration, transferring to other colleges, and job placement. A diverse student base, some of whom had immigrated to America shortly before enrolling, also makes tailoring a viable solution difficult. Improving the retention and graduation rate as well as the increased financial and academic burdens of a remedial program still remain a considerable problem. The Center for Career Development (CCD) provides students with comprehensive career planning services. Its professional career counselors assist students in making informed decisions about an area of study; research occupations that match their personal interests; write a resume; practice interviewing, and help them prepare as candidates for internships and employment. Students also learn to clarify their career goals, develop effective communication and interpersonal skills, conduct job searches, and develop a digital portfolio for employers to view as evidence of their skills, accomplishments and professional qualifications. In addition, CCD partners with New York Needs You, the New York office of America Needs You, to host career-oriented events and seminars to bring industry insights to its students.Nesar Ahmed

edit, update: ended up coming to the conclusion that because all of this uncertanty and my bad living situation I am dropping out, I did all I could, was not met halfway by anone but professors unless I begged here. do not go here if you're poor. Just, no. I can't take it anymore. I've tried to explain my situation to this school multiple times, and I'm left to struggle on my own. I am starving, housing insecure, financially unstable, and unable to make ot to class or properly study because of financial struggle, inability to be alone a place quiet to study because they won't house, and depression. In the end they want to fail you out so you can pay them fees later, I guarantee. I'lll gladly take my review down if it's actually a thing they decide they really want to help me with, only after I have been actually helped, and not as in, money grant to help my situation I never recieve, or new housing program email I apply for and am swiftly rejected because I am not enrolled just enough just yet due to circumstances that are once again not entirely my fault because when I applied here I intended to be taking 16 credits not 7. Very diverse. You can see all kind of people over here. Most of the students and staff are friendly. Environment is good. Friendly neighborhood. If you are hungry, you can find all types of food around the building. It has 26000 student. It also has a big cafeteria, big library, big quiet study place for study and a lot more . I am an alumni from this school and my two years spent were memorable and enjoyable. I am originally from NYC so going upstate for school was a drastic change in environment and people. The staff are very friendly and helpful and made me feel comfortable in the change of environment. My advisor helped me choose my classes and helped me through personal and educational challenges I faced which helped me alot. The food does need some change but it was not the worst thing. I enjoyed dorm life at SUNY Delhi but recommend they install air conditioners as it tends to be warm in summer and spring time. I mostly enjoyed the classes, my professors were very knowledgable in their fields and were very helpful in making sure I understood every topic. The resources on campus are worth going to because they do help. I made many friends and connections through joining clubs and going to events. I was even President and co-founder of a two different clubs. Definitely recommend this school if you are looking to get a good education and experience dorm life away from the city. My daughter just finished her first semester. Overall, I would not recommend this school. While the campus is beautiful, the accommodations are extremely unsanitary. The drug culture is highly prevalent and it doesn't appear as if it's being monitored. The sororities still practice hazing for membership. After they use and abuse their pledges, they accept little to no new members. Unfortunately, my daughter had a professor who was clearly unapologetically rascist. I've never, in all my schooling, had a professor grade every paper with a personal insult attached. I highly regret enrolling my daughter in this school. From what I've witnessed, the majority of the academics (with exception of that professor) are decent. At best I would suggest if your not in the veterinary program or in the private pay dorm (Catskill) it's best to live off campus.joangelica 80

I went on a tour today for this school and from everything that I heard they have everything I needed in a school. They allow freshman’s to have cars on campus for a $168 fee (that covers the whole year). They allow you to stay on campus all four years of college and have specific dorms for upperclassman like juniors and seniors. The school and view is beautiful. The school it’s self seems to have a great support system. Everyone seemed friendly and welcoming. The food tasted good from my experience. I recommend this school for anyone in New York looking to go away from home but still be in their home state. I enjoyed my tour here and hope to enjoy my four years here.Bryanna Jordan

I will be completely honest. I did some PSEO courses here and thought it was a nice campus. There is some struggles and problems with the school, but nothing to make this not a choice for a college. Teachers are nice, most of the students are fine and just do there own thing, there is a couple of clubs and activities, and the class sizes see to be reasonable (smaller than JMHS). I think it is a good campus and should be considered an opinion and not thrown to the curb when looking for local colleges.Burner Account

What a joke… My wages are currently being levied for a semester I did not even get to attend! The Financial Aid/Counselor I worked with helped me sign up for all the classes needed for that semester but did not inform me that I had no available financial aid. By the time, I discovered this (3 weeks into class) it was too late to withdraw without paying full price. I called multiple people at the school but all refused to help or did not know how to help. Though some teachers care quite a bit the majority could care less about you and more about there personal life. Scared to walk around without being robbed. Worst school I have ever been too. WORST.SCHOOL.EVER!! I hope they close down for good VERY SOON! There's no motivation or inspiration at all in this school whatsoever. The counselors and teachers are horrendous!! For every 5 teachers there, only 1 teacher is decent! They hold back their students far too long from achieving their true potential and don't even get me started on the atrocious time consuming and full of adversity enrollment process!! If you're still stuck taking a remedial/non credit class; instead of being able to register online LIKE IT SHOULD BE FOR EVERY STUDENT, you're instead forced to go all the way to Valhalla to register for classes EVERY semester until you've passed ALL their pointless non credited classes! Very excruciating and appalling for any student! Their counselors are always putting down students, not one can potentially uplift you when it comes to succeeding in school. This school is entirely all a scam. They will give you classes that do not pertain to your major and leave the big fat F on your transcript if you fail it, even if you're a Math and Science student that was given a social worker class that has absolutely nothing to do with your program!!!Toki Sing

Miserable place. Professors don’t care. They have people who don’t speak English teaching the math department. Those in the financial building are miserable, uninformative and rude. Nobody communicates!! Financial Tells you one thing and the counselors say something different. Totally unorganized and made my college experience a miserable one. They prioritize minorities and even questioned me on why I’m not on financial aid. Teachers WILL fail you if you don’t agree with their POLITICAL views. Community college is supposed to be affordable, but they manage to shake you down for every little penny. I was pretty skeptical about going back to school during this plandemic and now that I’m back in school, I wish I would’ve saved my money. The website says lab classes will be conducted online but it’s actually remote. If you want to pay full tuition for a partial education, then this is the place for you. The people who work in the administrative building specifically the Bursar’s office don’t care. The administrative building is physically closed so the only way to communicate is via email. I have been emailing the manager of the Bursar’s office, Marcia, for weeks to no avail. No one cares, they just want your money. A money sucking machine.Schneia Robinson

Great place until you have an issue, “the person you need to talk to isn’t here today” well I guess “the person I need to talk to” hasn’t been there since 2019. Have really given this school every chance under the sun to do the right thing but nothing ever gets done, 3 years trying to resolve an error (made by the school) and here I still am. And “the person I need to talk to” still isn’t there. The overwhelming majority of staff is wonderful and dedicated to their jobs, however there is a painfully obvious lack of competence in upper level leadership. I have called/showed up well over 25 times trying to get things squared away and nobody ever reaches out. Have had staff email other staff to no avail. I am truly in disbelief at the complete and total lack of accountability associated with this school. Maybe this will get their attention…Ben Smith

I obtained a computer degree in 2014 from Canton. This institution did not turn me into a Liberal zombie. That said, the number one thing you must keep in mind is cost, nearly all colleges in America have inflated costs, do you want to be thousands in debt with a bad job after? Consider vocational training & just working after high school. Choose wisely & do your research. Nearly everything I learned at Canton I fast track learned again in military tech school for a cyber job. I wasn't required to pay for it or take a mandatory ENG 101 course. Lastly, upstate NY is a boring, desolate, cold, Rust Belt like area for anyone considering studying there who is not from such a place. I do miss the friendships & had great experiences in Canton.̈

This school was nothing but a nightmare for me. The Financial aid office screwed me up. I did a whole semester, fine and great. Come second semester I’m in class for over a month and they pull me out in the hall to tell me something is wrong with everything and that I shouldn’t have been coming to class and everything I did for the month didn’t count. Took me years to pay back that loan for absolutely NOTHING. Every time I needed some help, they’d make me an appointment, and I’d trek through snow a mile away just for them to cancel on me. As an adult already working full-time SUNY Caton was one of the only universities which made obtaining a degree possible. They offer online degrees in bachelors, associates, and certificate degrees. There is vast yet concise range of academic majors which are applicable in the current job market. Considering the online program, the staff and instructors are helpful via email, phone and web-based. I highly recommend for adults seeking to further their education.Christine Marchetti

I really like the flexibility of the online courses, the affordability and the variety of degree options they have. My advisors and teachers have been very great but communicating with the other staff at this school is very frustrating. The employees in the financial aid department are very rude and condescending and they hang up on you abruptly whenever they get frustrated with you. The registar’s office is by far the WORST. Very nasty employees in that department who talk down to you and treat you like a child. They seem to forget they work for a college, not an elementary school. One spent 10 minutes arguing on the phone with me just because I wanted my new advisor’s phone number and email. The “career counselors” offer no type of help or advice and they just tell you to “google it” whenever you have a basic question about a certain major. They are also very judgmental if you express a desire to finish with only an associates degree and not transfer to a 4 year, not considering not everyone has the financial means to do so. The call center employees are very disrespectful and seem like they want to find reasons to argue with callers. There are also huge issues with miscommunication at this school and everyone seems to have different answers about certain topics which causes a lot of errors. Certain departments are also not great about contacting back even after leaving numerous voicemails/emails. Overall I like the school itself but they need to either retrain the employees on basic respect and customer service or they need to hire new ones.Resident Anon

The teachers here are all outstanding and they make you feel like they want you to succeed. I have taken College Algebra, Biology and Spanish in the classroom and the instructors were all topnotch. There is also additional help available to students in the free math lab and writing centers as well as Spanish tutoring. The online classes are not that confusing but you do need to pay attention because sometimes you are required to take classes through third-party online textbooks via the access codes. The only problems I had were with transferring credits to the school and getting contradictory information from the financial aid office on one occasion. I do wish the school did a better job with advising students but I understand the logistics issues. Everyone at the hub is friendly and helpful! Use them they are a great resource. To all the people that left negative reviews, I would say "you get out what you put in". This is college and you get treated like an adult.Linda Brady
