Review Summary
Overall this is an amazing school. All the staff members are always there for you and they always strive to go above and beyond the call of duty. The school in general is a fun environment to actively retain and learn all the necessary aspects of the type of trade you are trying to obtain. I wish all higher learning schools would be like this school. The Instructors are so knowledgeable and so patient with every student on the right teaching method so everyone can feel like they are learning. I have never felt so accepted at a place even though I had no knowledge what so ever of the materials being taught. They hire only the best and retain these great staff members. The curriculum is on pace with all other schools and probably rivals them as well. I am so appreciative of the amount of caring for every student gets the right type of education at the school. The only thing that I might say they could do better is that because of Covid and some other arising issues is that sometimes the class had to do some maintenance work around the school that was not planned in the curriculum and we really did not learn on those kind of days. We did not mind it much and always did help out, but felt like we had no choice. This is not a complaint, but an opportunity for the school to address the issue. Maybe they could implement this into the curriculum and let students know that there may be some days like this that may arise, so that all students are aware issues like this may arise. I am really sad to leave, but know that I am prepared for what lies ahead in my future. Thanks again to all the Staff, Instructors, and last but not least The Owner of the School. I can see why they got a Seal of Approval from the White House.Amir Mahboubi
I must say that the moment I spoke to Shawn Jamali over the phone in March of 2014, my life changed. He motivated me to come on in to show me what Austin Career Institute could do for my life. The training was awesome. The staff and also the things that the work force offered as well. The tools and the laptop gave us the ability to learn and graduate. The first class that he instructed and we are awesome. I jumped into remote command HVAC where I controlled units throughout different cities from a command center. I moved on from there using my Austin Career Institute's knowledge to land a job in the Artificial Intelligence Robotics field to drive and program self driving autonomous cars. I traveled the United States promoting the self driving technology while also performing trouble shooting and wiring techniques that I learned in school. I am continuing my journey in robotics as a technician with self driving forklifts. My journey has been amazing. I owe a huge thank you to Shawn and his amazing team. I'm forever grateful. Thanks.Larry Campbell Jr.
After a change in careers, I had an opportunity through the Texas Workforce Commission . I was asked to review several schools before making a decision on where I would take the HVAC. I met with the Administrator, who was very down to earth and was able to explain the value of coming to school here ACI, I received tools to start me with off in the trade. The instruction is great for a majority, if not all, styles of learning.A BIG plus for me is the hands on training that we are receiving when it comes to learning the different concepts that we are going through. The additional benefits include the teacher very professional help me create my resume and job searches…In 2 more weeks I will be graduate at school and today I got a company hiring me as HVAC Tech, I so happy… Thanks Mr Shawn. I would highly recommend this school for those who want an opportunity for a new career.Tony Phan

We really lucked out with Dr. Weeks. She is kind, thoughtful, thorough, and knowledgeable. My 12 year old kitty, Hendrix, has recently been diagnosed with asthma and Dr. Weeks has been nothing short of amazing in planning and providing his treatment. She is patient and genuinely empathetic to pets and owners alike! She even made sure we were aware of an alternative pharmacy to get the best deal on a very pricey prescription. I worked in vetmed a few years ago and I can say I am so impressed with our care. Thanks Dr. Weeks and of course a big thank you to all the amazing techs and wonderful client service team members that keep the clinic running smoothly. We’re so grateful. We appreciate you!Kendall Raymond
Firehouse Westlake is absolutely amazing! The staff and Vets are incredibly nice, helpful and knowledgeable. They have treated our pets as if they were their own. I have been taking my French Bulldog there for several years after another vet told us that he was going to die because of a Mast Cell tumor, but Firehouse removed the tumor and he is still alive more than 10 years later. They were also incredibly helpful and compassionate as we navigated the end of our cat's life making it as painless as possible while giving us the most amount of time with her as they could with a reasonable quality of life. We can't recommend them highly enough!Roger Brown
We love Firehouse! One of our pups is very anxious at the vet (even with the max dose of sedatives), and Firehouse has a calm room set up like a living room with a separate entrance to make our pup feel more at ease- and it works! The techs and vets make sure to go at our dog's pace to ensure it is a positive visit. The front desk staff is very helpful, the techs are great, and we love the vets we've seen (both Dr Saunders and Dr Nahous). They were both friendly, thorough, and incredibly helpful in answering all of our questions.Rachael Mobley

Review Summary
I’m in Mrs. Emily’s, CMA (certified Medical Assistant) morning class from 9am-1pm. I’m currently one of the ambassadors for my CMA program and I have met many interesting people while representing my class. I started the class on January 6th of 2022. I currently reside in killeen/Harker Heights, TX., area. I choose to attend the Austin area Cybertex after visiting the reviews online and the school. I learned that the teacher for the Austin location was also the director of the school, this let me know that she had a vested interest in her students success and I was correct. Mrs. Emily is beyond helpful and interested in her “babies “ students learning and understanding each subject matter. I drive and hour and 20 minutes to get to class and haven’t missed a day as of yet because of the encouragement of Mrs. Emily and the subject matters interest me and I don’t want to miss anything. I could have chosen to go to a number of other CMA that were closer to home but I drive here because of Mrs. Emily and her teaching style. If you are looking to get your foot into healthcare or trying to get a leg up on getting into a competitive nursing school program, like I am, this is an awesome place to start and an amazing instructor to learn from. Thank you Mrs. Emily.First Lady
Making the choice to attend CyberTex has been one of the best decisions I have made. From day one, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and ensured that any concerns I had were addressed and I truly felt I was in good hands and not just a number like at other institutions. The instructors are welcoming and knowledgeable. They truly take the time to make new students feel like an asset to the school. Specifically Mrs. Emily, the director and day-time instructor for the CCMA program makes the learning process engaging for students with all levels of medical background. She always goes above and beyond to ensure that the content used in class is relevant and does not shy away from making necessary correlations between the curriculum and real life applications. Her extensive experience and enthusiasm for the field is ever-apparent and makes for a truly refreshing learning experience that every classroom should aim to mimic. The work she assigns is of a level that effectively reinforces the material covered in class but also allows for students to maintain a good amount of time for life outside of school. I am thankful that she tailors the course to not only the end of course certification tests, but also to the limits of what we as students are wanting to learn.Kameron Hill
If you are contemplating on attending CyberTex for the Medical Assistant (MA) Program, just do it! Mrs. Emily Winston, Director of the MA Program and the instructor of the day class. Mr. Bell is the instructor of the night class. These two instructors are not only awesome, but make an awesome team. They compliment each other as teaching partners as they both teach in their own different ways, but yet, have the same purpose….helping and teaching their students. Classes are packed full of the Body Systems and much much more that will get you ready for the CCMA Certification. I am in the day class with Mrs. Winston and the way she teaches for a slow , old timer (like me) is perfect!!! I didn't go to college as school wasn't for me. Although, since being in Mrs. Winston's class, I am at 100% with my grades which is absolutely amazing and all thanks to her and her teaching style. If I can do it, anyone can. Our class is a fun bunch. Add Mr. Bell from the night class into our day mix and man oh man….we are rockin'. Labs are hands on. We practice injections and drawing blood on each other, the real deal. Come join the MA Program, you won't regret it!!!!!!!Elaine Vinklarek

Have taken my two orange boys here a few times (with our last one being an unexpected emergency visit – he's okay now thanks to the care from Star of Texas Vet). Everyone there is always so kind and accommodating and you can tell their "fear-free" care isn't just marketing and is something they stand by. They really take the time to understand what's happening and any concerns you may have and actually explain everything you could ever need to know in great detail. Also prices always seem to be reasonable! I honestly don't know if I could take my 2 boys anywhere else!Aaron Bernard
I'm pretty sure my cats want to live here! Dr. Sabo, Toni, and Samantha were excellent host to me and my boys! It's hard to find a place that is as much in love with my cats as I am. Neither of them even realized they got vaccines because of the treats they were getting. And they spent the entire time exploring all the special places for cats in the room (cat tree, scratching post, hiding box). I so appreciate that they are a Fear Free Practice and Cat Friendly.Sarah H
I love the homie feel of the location. The staff are friendly and they take great care and patience with my animals. They are also good about being upfront with costs and making sure you are okay with what you are paying for, which I really appreciate with 5 animals on a budget. I just wish they still had availability on Saturdays. Thank you for taking care of my Boo and making sure she had a smooth visit.Veronica Gonzalez

After moving to the area I searched for a veterinary clinic suitable for my furry friend and let me tell you, this place was amazing! They booked my appointment on short notice and the staff was very helpful. On the day of the appointment(the next day) I could feel a high level of morale in the clinic. Every staff member I encountered were super nice. The office was clean, organized, and quiet. The staff handled my furry friend with extreme care and love. They actively listened to my concerns and offered expert advice for those concerns. It was an absolute pleasure of an experience. 5 star treatment for sure! Thanks for an easy and painless encounter. Highly recommend!Patrick Stanley
We've been taking our 19 yr old cat to Manchaca Village Vet for treatment of her chronic kidney disease for over a year, and we like them so much that we decided to move our dog to their vet care too. We especially appreciate that we never feel rushed here. Dr. Tolson took the time to explain his treatment recommendations, even drawing illustrations for us. The whole staff was clearly experienced at handling anxious dogs with care and gentleness, which helped put us all at ease. We love the "happy visits" recommendation to help our beloved dog get used to going there and do our best to make it a positive experience for her.B W
10/10 recommendation for this office for pet needs!! 100% communication about everything you need! Answers the phone quickly and answered all of my questions. I brought my dog Venus who is high anxiety and hard to manage. They were able to sedate her safely to do the exam, shots and nail trim! Vet himself called to explain what she needed and vet tech called to let me know when she was done for a drop off appointment! I can’t explain enough how nice and understanding they were for me! I will be a forever customer for my pet needs! Thank you for taking such good care of her!! ❤️Molly Selden

Out of the ~5 vets we have tried in Austin, this place is definitely the best. Our service here has always been terrific, the technicians and doctors have both been great. On our first time here, we brought in a foster cat with a medical emergency. They performed surgery to save her life. After that, I fell in love with this kitty and adopted her, I'm so thankful that Brodie saved her life. We have also brought cats in for check ups and brought in my cat once for a dental cleaning. During the cleaning and the previously mentioned surgery, they kept us updated throughout the process and even called the next day to see how she was.Benjamin Nativi
I take both my dogs to Brodie Animal hospital and love it! We have been going there for 3 years now. They have a messaging app where you can connect with a vet during business hours! I LOVE this feature. It’s super helpful when you want their opinion before making an appointment for something that you might not need to make an appointment for. All the vets, technicians, and office staff are really nice. The vet and vet techs also do a good job explaining costs and if something isn’t feasible at that time, they don’t make you feel bad or pressure you into anything. I will always recommend this vet!Melanie Loe
I've been bringing my puppy Eugene to Brodie Animal Hospital for not even a year, but I am confident we've made the right choice. The staff has been consistently responsive and compassionate, and very attentive to every concern we've had so far. I always feel heard and supported, I'm an anxious momma, and even with that, my concerns about Eugene's wellbeing are never dismissed. My puppy is thriving, and I never have to wonder whether he's in good hands. I know he is. Dr. Arambula has been wonderful to us, and so has everyone else.Evgenia Agaeva

This is the vet I’ve been looking for since I moved to Austin 11 years ago! I’ve tried several in the city that ended up not being for me and my dogs so I decided to give these guys a try and I am not disappointed! Everyone that works here is genuinely super nice and friendly (which is really important to me). The vets go over everything with you and they actually listen to you when you have questions and concerns. You never feel like they are rushing through your appointment. They have never pushed anything unnecessary on me and have always been willing to try and work with my budget. I highly recommend this vet!nikki balderson
Dr. Honeycutt is the best. She is warm, very attentive and has the utmost care and concern for our little furbabies! She really goes above and beyond to explain what is going on and you never feel rushed. The ladies and gent at the front always welcome you with a smile and the techs are compassionate and sweet with my baby. I know I can be a little over the top sometimes but they all handle us with ease and care. Thank you so much for all you do!!!!Angelia Cash
Amanda, Meagan, Morgan and Kristina are amazing at customer service & care! Our baby was very sick and they worked magic and were extremely supportive. Came in with an emergency and they helped immediately. They handled an extremely aggressive woman who we learned was named Karen of all names because of her yelling! Dear Karen- you are the problem in the world, kindness goes a long way. Guess you also go by Michelle on Google?Google User

Review Summary
Big fan of Crestview Veterinary Clinic and the vets/nurses there. They cared for our 1 year old pup Kudzu so well recently. They fit us in when our normal vet couldn’t get us an emergency appointment for days. They were very understanding and honest about pricing — giving us itemized estimates for X-rays, ultrasounds, surgery. The itemized estimates planned for surprises and got us prepared for higher costs too. They were so loving and caring and obsessed with our dog (they all came in every appointment to check up on the pup even if they weren’t helping with the appointment)! It made us feel that she was in such good care. Dr Butcher also squeezed us in last minute for a surgery. They all were flexible once they realized the seriousness of our pup’s situation. Also, our vet (and others we had tried) were still doing curbside pickup/drop off due to Covid. It was so nice to walk into the vet and get to see them love on Kudzu in person. This is long, but I could keep going — Crestview Vet Clinic is amazing and full of kind and caring people! Your pet is in great hands!Anne Tyson
I took in our cat Mia for her annual exam this week. All of the Crestview Veterinary Clinic staff were very welcoming and professional. The Vet Tech was very thorough in taking the intake information and doing the preliminary work of looking over our cat, weighing her, taking her temperature and taking the blood sample. She was very gentle and loving with our cat. The Vet was also very caring and professional as well. She was thorough in her examination of our cat. She answered all my questions and gave me her assessment of our cat's health. She explained things in a kind easy manner that was easy for me to understand. I would like to thank Crestview Veterinary Clinic for the caring manner in which they treated our cat and me. Our cats are more than pets to us. They are family, so I was very appreciative of the way they treated our cat and me. I would like to especially thank Vet Tech Katy and Dr. Squires. I would and have recommended Crestview Veterinary Clinic for the care of their pets. Paul MedranoPaul Medrano
Quite possibly the greatest veterinarian clinic that could exist. They absolutely truly care about animals and making sure that they get the best possible care. In no way are they obligated to stay late or move around their lunch breaks so that they can see a pet that day… Or within 20 minutes in an emergency. They go out of their way to make sure that animals are taken care of and that their owners feel confident in everything that is going on with their pets. They give the best advice for the animals and make sure that the owners completely understand what is going on. No one wants to have to take their animal to the vet, honestly no animal wants to go to the vet, but somehow my dog gets super excited when I tell him that we are going to the vet and it is probably because of the veterinarians and technicians and other staff that work there who are so kind to my dog. Crestview vet is fantastic. Amazing. Wonderful. Just plain awesome!Drew Finkel

I literally cannot say enough about the wonderful people who work at Austin Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital. We have come for regular care and it was great but when we had a serious problem with our dog, they went above and beyond. Our 9 year old standard poodle was yelping and we were worried. We brought him in and Dr. Varga gave him an examine and suggested a CT scan. Thankfully because he had damage to his spinal cords that had gone unnoticed for way too long. He's just a chill and stoic dog and he was hiding his pain. He had spinal surgery by Dr. Varga and was treated like family. While I was waiting for his results from the scan, they let him out of his pen and let me lay with him on the floor in the back. Everything was going on around us, incredible care by all the techs and vets and they just let me be with my dog, my baby. After the surgery, which went well, he was still having issues. They gave me advice over the phone. Were responsive and helpful. When I got really worried, they had me bring him in immediately. The doctor stayed late and waited for us to get there. They took him in and gave him immediate care. The next day when I called to check on him, they said he should probably stay another night. I was devastated. I asked if my husband and I could come visit him and they said, of course. We got to go lay with him and comfort him and they let us bring a blanket from home to give him even more comfort. I honestly can't say enough about everyone there. The front desk staff is amazing, the tech staff and Dr. Varga. Incredible bedside manner, compassion, empathy and just wonderful people. I won't go anywhere else with any of my pets. Truly stunning group of people.Kayla Daum
I called AVD on Saturday because my little chihuahua looked to be having seizures. AVD graciously was willing to accept her as an emergency case. They performed a slew of expensive tests, and the doctor concluded that even though it looked like a seizure, she was actually fainting. When I explained that she never lost consciousness, he insisted. I brought her home and it happened again, which I caught on video. I called the doctor again and he said, no, she was still fainting, even though I told him her back was arched and she was running in place the whole time. That night she had a cluster of three seizures back to back. She became paralyzed and dysphoric. She never recovered. She spent several hours in the emergency room where they confirmed she was obviously having seizures, and then they told me she would not be okay. I had to euthanize her. One of the greatest loves of my life died screaming, paralyzed and afraid. I will never know what would have happened if AVD had believed me and started her on anti-seizure medicine. Or if, when I called them back and told them I had a video, if they would have had enough interest and curiosity to watch it and saw what was plainly a seizure. I will never know.Erin DeWitt
I’m really sorry to share this, but I always had great experiences with this hospital until recently. I took my dog in to have two separate cherry eye procedures within days of each other, and they both completely returned within 48 hours. I called the hospital and notified them immediately and they told me to bring him in for another $260 diagnosis and if the procedure had to be repeated that it would be the same full price of almost $3000 for a 30 minute procedure. They told me my options were to either pay again, or just let it remain the same. That just doesn’t seem like very good policy or standing behind one’s work to me. It would be one thing if it was a small bill to get this done, but to have something reoccur on a young dog within 2 days of the completion of the procedure while using the correct methods, instructions, and medication that were also purchased. This is absolutely unacceptable on many levels! Very disappointed.Steven Clements

Westlake Animal Hospital is the best! They have been our vet since the 80s (when I was a kid). We have always had English Bulldogs and they require a lot of extra health care. Dr. Asbury knows exactly how to treat our bullies and has done so with professionalism and the BEST bedside manner a 4-legged friend and their human could ask for! Often times our bullies require a medical bath and there is no better med spa offered than that of the awesome vet tech, Signe! She goes above and beyond with the best skin care and when time permits a perfect "Paw-ticure"! Signe was even able to point out that our bulldog Lola might be happier on some anti-anxiety meds. It never occurred to me to consider anxiety meds for Lola. After consulting carefully with Dr. Asbury and Signe, Lola has been a much happier and chill dog with her meds. This was a true game changer! And it's the little things too….like calling for a last minute appointment and the clinic is always able to accommodate us, even if it' just a quick nail trim for the cat. All of the vet techs are super friendly, especially Barbarita. She's not afraid to get on the floor and play with my dogs/cat and make them feel comfortable. The staff loves on my animals and they make me and my fur babies think we are the only clients they have, even though I know they have many other clients. 10 out of 10 for Westlake Animal Hospital and staff!!Jamie McCornack
Since we moved to Austin 14 years ago, Westlake animal Hospital has provided us with exceptional care. We have had many dogs and many issues and they've always treated us like family. Even during these last 3 challenging years! I have a few shout outs: Dr. Angela Asbury, the world's best veterinarian (for me and im certain for many). I'm not sure I would still have dogs if not for her. I also greatly appreciate Dr. Ian Voelzel whom I trust and has never failed to squeeze us in and always has time and answers for my endless questions. He's always a terrific surgeon. Go aggies! Barbarita along with Signe are my rock star vet techs- who enable me to care for my briards, who have all been rescue dogs; some more challenging than others. Thank you both! They have gone above and beyond because they're knowledgeable and they care for our dogs like they are their own companions. Thank you!faith rubenstein
Westlake Animal Hospital has been a part of our days since 2006. The staff, especially Signe Corbin, has supported the needs of our Mimi Pug until she crossed the rainbow bridge in January of 2019. I wholeheartedly appreciate the way in which Westlake Animal Hospital executed everything with (first!) compassion, education and professional expertise. In this season of our lives for our family of five, Westlake Animal Hospital supports our labradoodle, Judy Bloom. She is a highly anxious, lovable member of our family. Dr. Asbury and her team is taking the time to earn her trust and patiently care for her. We are also very grateful for Chris' puppy training class. After our class, Judy is making great strides toward engaging with dogs and humans. She truly is a different, more confident pup. We are so very grateful to have Westlake Animal Hospital alongside our family's days.Phuong Palafox

I have been going here since 2019 for three different pets of mine and all was well and good until this year. My 8 year old cat was missing jumps, limping, looking so skinny she was gaunt and looked 13 instead of her age. When we took her in, they said they couldn’t give her a proper exam because she was yelling so much, but we’re holding her for the entire day to do a X-ray under anesthesia so I don’t know why they didn’t just give her an exam after medicating her. They didn’t even bother to give her blood work, which I am told is expected for cats her age and older. They charged me over 300$ just to tell me they have no clue why she is having problems. Flash forward I go to an even more affordable vet for a second opinion and the vet is automatically concerned saying she looks Ill and like she is way older than she is. The vet does blood work and she has hypothyroidism which if this vet caught she could have been treated like way sooner instead of suffering on her own. I usually don’t leave reviews but am so upset at how little effort they gave into helping my cat. The other two pets visited before the pandemic, so I am not sure if staff has changed or what happened, because they had great treatments.Orion Foster
We came to this clinic about 2 years ago because our boy had a mass growing in his mouth. Dr. Gregg was the one helping us through it all with biopsies and removal of the first mass. During our boy's last days, Dr. Gregg was so compassionate and caring that I will never forget what he did for us. I never got to meet Dr. Gregg because of Covid precautions but I am always so thankful for what he and his team did for our Ollie boy. We trust Dr. Greg and his team that we took our newest puppy here for vaccinations and exams. Their prices are reasonable and everyone is so friendly and professional. Sadly, we moved away from Austin and miss having a go-to veterinarian. Otherwise, we would trust them for all of our pet needs.Joy Jimeno
This place was a nightmare, the front desk was extremely rude and the vet didn’t inform me of all of the test and vaccines she was going to perform. I took my two cats in just for an exam and walked out with a 600$ vet bill. (This was during Covid so I wasn’t able to go in with my pet) They are also very pushy and not respectful of boundaries. They seem less concerned about how you feel and more concerned about making $$$. The vet assistant was also not very friendly or informative. I have found another vet that is an absolute joy to work with.Megan Martinez

It is never easy finding a new veterinarian, in a city you are new to, that you can trust. I have found that some veterinarians have, or are part of, "drive-through" practices; not taking the time needed with each patient, or shrugging off concerns, or throwing around diagnosis and treatments because they are unsure, or they simply do not care and just go through the motions. This can be devastating for an animal. While I am the judge and the jury of the final verdict on whether or not we will return to a veterinarian, I do watch and listen to my dogs reaction. It is important that she is comfortable, and as happy as a dog can possibly be at the vet. With that said, we had a wonderful visit at Companion Animal Hospital today. The receptionists (both when we arrived and when we were leaving), were very friendly and helpful, with a genuine smile on their faces. The vet tech was extremely knowledgeable, and I never once doubted that she knew what she was doing. My dog immediately took to her (and not just because she had treats), and she was very kind. And the doctor. Dr. Alfredo Geigel-Ortiz was nothing short of amazing. I was more than pleasantly surprised – and impressed. I am rather hesitant with vets, having a dog with an auto-immune disease, but he knows his stuff. He was very thorough with her exam and her blood work, and he took the time to explain the test types and results to me. He listened to me as I expressed my concerns, and I knew he was actually *listening.* We discussed her medications and her food; he didn't talk *at* me. We had actual conversations! It was very refreshing. I would also like to add, that I never felt shut-off, or like a number. So not only was my dog happy and comfortable, but I was as well. This is a win-win. My dog gets great care from an awesome veterinary practice, and she likes them. 10/10 definitely recommend!Kai
Dr. Alfredo Geigel-Ortiz is an absolute MONSTER. Alfredo was rough with my dog, manhandled my pet, made zero effort to interact and be empathetic to me or my dog, and was negligent by not caring to understand my dogs Hx before preforming care. He administered shots I didnt ask for nor authorize to charge me more money. When asked for my dogs records for the visit (since I will never use him as a vet again) he tried to charge me 90 dollars. His unprofessionalism shined as he loudly slammed a door in our face because he was questioned about his clinical carelessnessis giving shots that are not needed. His office staff agreed how terrible he was acting. Only when it was threatened that the cops would be called (yes, it was that bad) did he finally release our dogs records. Talk about a vet who is ONLY in it for the money. He could care less about your animal and your animals health. Complaints will be filed with the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners. If you want your animal to be treated like a lab rat, this is the doc for you!cole stormans
I have taken my foster dogs and my 4 dogs to Companion Animal Hospital since I moved to Oak Hill 7 years ago. I have always been completely confident in their care of my dogs both medically and emotionally. My dogs go in willingly – and we go often for their medical needs. The staff, from reception to vet techs and vets, has always been kind and considerate and reliable. Most importantly I value their expertise and willingness to explore all options for my dog’s quality of life. I highly recommend Dr Brown and Dr Geigel. Their professionalism and generosity with their time is much appreciated. They always follow up and explain what doesn’t register with me as many times as necessary. I will continue to rely on them for both care and referrals. They’ve never steered me wrong. Thank you Companion for your diligent and compassionate care of “my boys”. It means everything to have good diagnosticians that can be trusted.Janet Council

Back in February I brought in Vervain, a rescue puppy that had started with a hard life. She was infested with mites, full of worms, and needed so much help. She was balding, covered in bleeding sores, and was uncomfortable with pain. Thrive came to her rescue with more compassion and expertise then I could have expected. Some of the family-like staff I would like to acknowledge consisted of a caring Dr. Simpson and always helpful technician named Mercedes. There were many involved in being so helpful and patient with my sometimes impatient questions and concerns. She needed many different tests, medications and treatments but with all of their efforts; today Vervain is a new dog. She has all of her hair back, tons of esteem back, and is a playful healthy puppy once again! I can’t thank them enough for taking care of my family! Attached are some before and after photos to see the amazing transformation from start to finish of her treatment journey. Thrive will be her vet for life!!!Allie Christy
We told them we thought our senior dog was DYING and they told us (on two different occasions) to "find another vet because we are booked up 2 weeks out." We were with Thrive for years! Our dog had an overnight stay at the ER for respiratory distress and lethargy, and were at advised to follow up asap with his vet. They wouldn't even squeeze him in, any day! We found an excellent vet who actually recognized what was happening and they took our dog in very quickly. After their exam they were shocked to hear that our dog was never sent to a cardiologist for his heart. He was current on vaccinations, x-rays, and "annual" exams, but it's clear that Thrive did the BARE MINIMUM in their care. Our dog ended up passing just days after. Do not go here, it can cost your pet its life. It's heartbreaking to think they glossed over issues that were there, and in the end they pushed him aside and made zero room for him, when he needed them the most. Never again, Thrive.K
Recently went to get a full work up on my new puppy and had some anxiety on how the whole experience was going to be for the both of us. However Tera was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming to both me and puppy. She definitely answered both questions I was prepared to ask before asking and questions I hadn’t thought of. Dr. Brunson made the pet visit more personable to take her time to know the story behind how me and puppy crossed paths and how that could affect his current health. Both Tera and Dr. Brunson made sure to keep the floor open for any and all questions including financial. Will definitely recommend this location to other fur parents I know!Karla Ramires

Because of their inability to listen to a concern and inaccurate notes of my dog I won't be able to take him into my next apartment and will have to return him to the shelter. In the notes it was stated that when I called into the clinic I said that he was having trouble socializing and being aggressive towards other pets. In reality I was trying to explain how fearful he is of humans and wont even want to go outside because of his fear, when he does make it outside he wouldnt even make it to the grass before he released his diarrhea(caused by stress). He is 100% friendly towards other dogs, even ones who snap at him or try to mount him(stated in the notes from the shelter i adopted him at). The only problem he has is with humans, not being aggressive towards humans but being so fearful that he doesn't even want to go outside. I've never left a negative review no matter how bad the quality or service. This incident just caused so much grief that I had to share it. I haven't met the other doctors and I'm sure they are phenomenal but this is geared towards Dr. Kennedy. Edit** Photo below is Mack at his new foster home. First day at the local dog park, off-leash, getting to know the neighborhood! So glad I didn't have to take him back to the shelter.Nikkolas Nguyen
Some places you go to for help seem to be there primarily for making money, while others are in the business of helping with compassion. VAC Arbor Animal Hospital was referred to me who has cats. I can see why she said it was a great place. My dog, Merry, ingested something outside that upset her stomach. A day before I brought her in, I called to get some advice, hoping I could take care of it on my own. The receptionist went and asked a vet my questions, and I was very grateful. Although I ended up taking her to VCA the next day, it was a relief to see how attentive and caring they were. Some of the employees there have worked there for over 10 years. That usually indicates it is a good place for humans too. Dr. Moon examined Merry, prescribed meds and the treatment was successful. They called a few days later to see how she was doing which was unexpected . I did not feel that I was over charged. Gratefully, I live less than a mile from this great animal hospital.Beth Wesley
First time customer at Vca. I had just adopted a dog and was able to make a new dog apt here within a week. I brought my new dog to the VCA per the shelters recommendation. I haven’t been happy with a local vet I use for my other dog, and never heard of the VCA prior to the shelters recommendation. I was really happy with my visit at the VCA. The vet patiently answered the long list of questions I had, and provided some valuable information my previous vet failed to provide. Their services are also less expensive than my other vet. I am so happy I found them, and will be taking both my pups here going forward.Bridget T

I can't articulate how pleased and appreciative I am of the level of service, care and results we consistently have with Circle C. Without exception, every staff member is kind, patient and clearly cares deeply about what they do. Both our dogs had always been very wary of veterinarians until they experienced Circle C. Now, they can't wait to get inside and see their friends. When our puppy needed emergency treatment, Circle C coordinated a specialist surgeon that night, stayed way past close and worked diligently to save our lil pup. They even went out of their way to distract us and cheer us up while we were sitting there, stewing in anxiety. When I profusely apologized and asked how I could repay them for going the extra mile, they said his health was all they wanted. It clearly wasn't just lip service. If you live in the Austin area, this is 100% the best place to bring your pet to be cared for by the best veterinarian team, period.Corwin Franklin
These vets know so much about greyhounds. We came from a state that had good vets but knew next to nothing about greyhounds. We were recommended by GALT, the local greyhound group. When our boy got hemangiosarcoma, they knew EXACTLY what it was and what the prognosis would be. They were in contact with the emergency clinic in San Antonio and monitored his case. They were honest and frank, but in the kindest way possible. They really put the pets care first. That's why we drove from San Antonio to Austin when we had to help our boy cross the rainbow bridge. Every experience we've had there has been nothing short of exemplary. They are the kindest and most compassionate humans I have ever met. Thank you for caring for our boy.Brittany Black
I could not be happier to share the great experience I had with Dr. Silvers and the entire staff. They took amazing care of both me and my elderly fur baby , Joey. Over the course of a month Dr.Silvers took care of Joey and communicated clearly with me along the way. The staff always offered kindness and compassion with every visit and interaction. No matter my questions they were always helpful. In the end we made the tough decision to put Joey down and even through that experience we were treated with the upmost care, empathy, and compassion. Dr. Silvers was incredibly generous with her time and knowledge. I am forever grateful to have met her and had the pleasure of working with Circe C Animal Hospital.Katie Gowryluk

I gave them a good 2 years and in my experience their internal notes are always out of sync, there was always some scheduling issue, inconsistent information from one day to the next, and adding tests I didn't need. Several times, they'd say we have x test, and y test and z test. Well…how about I see the vet first and then see what is necessary? It's clearly a sales tactic that serval people fall victim to. (just check out some of the other negative reviews. You'll see). I'm often able to save a couple of hundred dollars just by seeing the vet first and asking only for the tests my pet needs rather than just testing everything. I'm sure there are people that say yes, to all of it not questioning a thing and just wasting money. I'm writing this review now because they scheduled my pet for today for a second round of k9 influenza vaccine, I went in and they had no record of my appointment and they said I had to start the rounds over. Starting over is fine, it was just the last straw with the whole miscommunication thing and being out of sync. That being said, everyone there is very nice, and the vets seem solid at their job. Just couldn't deal with the poor communications and sales tactics.Dmitri Gonzalez
Don't bring your animal here. I lost my male cat last year for close to a week. Suddenly i thought i found him thanks to a Facebook group and he looked pretty stressed. Like he lost a coat of hair and weight. I took him to this clinic since it was his and they checked him out and said he was just fine. They knew he was gone for a week. One week later, that cat went into heat. So not only was it not a male cat since they don't go into heat like that, but this imposter cat didn't even have a microchip! This clinic not only didn't scan his microchip, but didn't even check the GENDER. How can veterinarians not so the bare basic. This was when i couldn't go inside with him (her) due to COVID. They took a week away from me and i still don't have my cat. Don't bring your animals here.Clinton Westover
I am always pumping this place up to anyone who will listen. I am on several Great Dane pages and I am always suggesting Austin Vet Care at Metric. I called today for a quick weight check and refill for Ollivander (my 6 month old Great Dane) and Emily (who is amazing) took the call. I didn't even have to say our last name, they take a personal interest in your furry family member and remembered us. You can absolutely tell they truly love their job. Dr. Tracy is awesome!!! I used to live closer but have since moved and I still go to this location. It's the people there that make me feel confident in bringing my fur babies to them. 5 stars isn't enough!!! I was sent to this clinic late at night when my dog experienced an emergency and all of the clinics around me were full. My dog was lethargic and wobbly, i was terrified and didn’t know what was happening. The receptionist was so sweet, and the only reason that this is getting 2 stars. We were brought into a room by someone (she did not introduce herself) and were told that my dog needed x rays to see if “there was nerve damage or arthritis”. I hadn’t even set my dog on the exam table, and this person was not a veterinarian (later discovered to be a vet tech). I said i did not believe that my dog needed x rays, and the vet tech became very argumentative and unprofessional. She then stated she will take my dog back and have the vet look at him (shouldn’t that have come before x rays anyway?!). After about 20 min my dog is brought back into the room, i am told he’s ingested a toxic substance by the vet tech. We’re then left in the room for an hour with no treatment, and i have not even met a veterinarian. My dog is visibly suffering. At this point I’m very frustrated and ask the vet tech if it’s even necessary to make my dog suffer here as opposed to at home. She says that “i was explained to on the phone” that “this is a triage facility and there is a dog who has eaten razor blades” which “obviously” comes before my dogs needs. This entire situation was made to be 10x more upsetting than it already was because of the attitude of the veterinary staff. They are not kind, soft, or understanding in your time of need. I wasn’t going to leave this review, as i understand everyone has off days and i was clearly having a bad one as well. But after speaking with a coworker who also had an awful experience at this clinic, i felt it was valuable to provide feedback so that others can avoid this place. If my dog needed more intensive care than fluids and monitoring over night, i would have driven elsewhere. I do not trust this practice.Rachel Penn
I had to rush my kitty in for a UTI, they got him in same day of me calling and quickly tested. Since he is a typical picky kitty it was going to be hard to give him the antibiotic medication each day so they had the option to give him a shot instead. It was just very reassuring to see they had all the available resources to make my cat feel better quicker and easier. The vet tech was very kind and helpful while going over exactly what they would need to do. No surprise costs and they went over everything in detail. They offer a variety of services and I saw many happy pet parents come in to pick up their pets from grooming to boarding and check ups. All the pets there looked well taken care of and happy. I’m use to seeing pets terrified and crying in a vet clinic but the staff clearly makes them all feel comfortable. I was just here for an emergency visit but this will now be my vet for all my cats needs.Victoria Curiel
My cat was having a rough time with pain and nausea on a weekend evening and I took him here because there wasnt availability elsewhere. They got my cat in pretty fast after hours considering they seemed pretty busy. He had a bladder stone and needed attention right away and I appreciated that they seemed to actually care about him. I was really worried but they kept me posted the whole time he had to be in the hospital and I feel like he was in good hands. They told me what to do about his diet to help prevent the same thing from happening again. The doctor seemed to genuinely care about my cat and made me feel like I could ask all the stupid questions I needed to.Ej Gravis

Don't to hybrid courses. Stay online if you want to save some time and gas. Ms.Lopez, who teaches the final course for certification, doesn't consider a student's busy life. She keeps each assignment locked and open for less than 24 hours. Students are required to do an internship. My wife is a Dean list student with a 4.0 average. She works a 15-hour work day while I'm on active duty for the military. If the school requests more from a student, there needs to be better communication and understanding if needs academically aren't met. If a student has such a complex schedule while working a full-time job and internship, there should be an effort to keep classwork unlocked and available to the deadline. Ms.Lopez failed to understand what a hybrid course is. She would have to go to class to do online work. If most of the work is online, why not keep all assignments open so the student can work ahead to avoid incomplete tasks? It's very thought-provoking to think that if the course's work were open for the duration of the system, then most students would complete all the work early to account for sleep and other daily life activities. In my eyes, I don't see that as an issue. In my experience, it was encouraged to work ahead. I now have to pay for my wife to retake the course and pay another time. This feels like the school wants more money. I could take her transcript and take a class with a more memorable teacher in community college for way less or possibly free. It's crazy to think that I could save money by paying for my wife's certification test for a couple of hundred because the school will not reward her certification until the course is completed. Let us not forget that she paid for the cert in the tuition. Don't think the certification test is free cause it's not; you paid for it one way or another. She'd have to waste another month of our time and money to retake a course, not even to receive an actual degree.Zachry Correa
CHCP is GREAT! I loved being an LMRT student here! I love how the teachers are so involved in your education and want you to be successful! Miss Salazar was amazing and she always pushed all of her students to go above and beyond! Career Services is great! I love CHCP so much! I’m so glad I went through them and I can’t wait to further my education with them when I bridge for the (R) RT program! Thank you CHCP for everything!Samantha Velez
This place is absolutely amazing! All of the staff is very supportive from the very beginning. Nensi at career services always checked on me and made sure I had what I needed. Externship coordinator Mr. Clarence was always checking on me while I was on site and made sure I was on track with everything. Thank you to this amazing school for helping me have a career and now my mom is happy to say she has a college graduate!Maria Hernandez

My dog tore her ACL/CCL and needed TPLO surgery. The cost our veterinarian quoted was prohibitive so I was looking for an alternative when I found Dr. Lewis and VSS. They quoted $1,000 less than our vet, and included all the follow-up appointments and physical therapy in that price. Scheduling everything was very easy, the staff members I talked with were compassionate and sweet, and Dr. Lewis did an amazing job on the surgery. I can't even find the incision and the surgery was only 2 months ago. My dog was in their office twice a week for more than a month for physical therapy and follow-up exams, so I felt confident that if anything was going sideways, they'd catch it and tell me what to do. Because of all the good reviews I read, all the info the VSS staff gave me, and the staff's responsiveness over email and phone, I was comfortable not meeting Dr. Lewis in person before the surgery. I did meet him after the surgery, and he is lovely. It seems like he just wants to focus on maximizing the service he provides — operating on animals — instead of spending time answering questions from pet owners, which his staff handles. As a business owner myself, I really respect that he set up a practice in the way that works best for him, especially since he passes savings on to his patients. It really makes this more affordable for more people and their pets. I recommend VSS without hesitation and if my dog ever needs surgery again, I will go straight to them. I am very grateful.Tonyia Cone
Worst experience I have ever had with a vet experience. Receptionist was rude no customer service skills. Wasn’t caring to my dog. They would not let me speak to Dr. Lewis at all they were too busy and that’s why services were so cheap. It’s not that cheap and for my dog to have surgery I do not think it’s too much to ask to speak to the surgeon. The manager wasn’t available nor do I think they would have cared. $300 professional fee is a joke if you only get a bill but no customer service rude staff and cannot speak to the doctor for 5 minutes. I don’t care how recommended he is I would never recommend this clinic to anyone. I hesitated to go because of my phone experience and I was right. Very upsetting and sad I don’t see how this girl has a job. Or how it is ok. It to be able to speak to someone about a surgery before charging you $1500. It’s ridiculousJoDee Adams-Herst
We were recommended to Veterinary Surgical Solutions by a couple of neighbors. Our dog, Kudi, needed TPLO surgery and we were having some bad luck trying to find a surgeon we could trust and afford. I could not be more grateful I found this place. The process was easy, they kept me educated, and were on top of everything. The thing that stood out to me the most is the genuine love and care they have for the dogs that come in. They treated our dog with such love and affection, made sure she was comfy, and took wonderful care of her after surgery. Also wanted to Special shout-out to Deanna because she is an absolute rockstar! So helpful in scheduling, educating me, and always treating Kudi with such love. THANK YOU TEAM FOR SUCH AN AWESOME EXPERIENCE!❤️Michael Beltran

Review Summary
AVES and its staff, from the veterinarians to the techs to the front desk were all incredible. I was watching my roommate’s dog while she was out of town and had a nightmare scenario (medical emergency) happen, so I was definitely stressed and trying not to panic. I called our normal emergency vet and they were full, but sent me AVES info. The AVES staff were kind, attentive, quick, professional, and did an amazing job triaging. They were also really good about keeping my roommate updated even though she was out of town. They made a scary and stressful situation feel as painless as possible, took amazing care of our dog as well! We’ve got a couple pets in the house, and I know I’ll be bringing them here if we ever have an emergency again.Grace Neumann
This was our first experience with AVES and we have been so impressed with the communication, follow up, and overall compassion given to our pup. We visited AVES around midnight, our dog wasn't able to keep food or water down. AVES was at capacity, but still managed to take a look at our dog and do a quick exam to rule out bloat which eased our minds. AVES called the very next day to check in on our dog. The level of professionalism and care at AVES is unmatched! While I hope we don't need to go back anytime soon, we're very thankful we've found a trustworthy emergency vet option in Austin.Saira Ortiz
Our pointer puppy became extremely ill the day before Christmas Eve with Parvo. All the other clinics in the area were at capacity and kept telling me to contact other emergency vets, the staff at AVES saw us promptly. The staff was amazing, informative, compassionate, and helpful. While expensive; without their intervention and referral to Austin Pets Alive outpatient parvo puppy treatment, our Nala wouldn’t be here today. This morning she is completely back to herself chasing the cat and trying to eat the kitty food. Y’all saved her life, and our family couldn’t be more grateful for you.Victoria Wade
