i came in for one reason to get job after graduation been going on two yrs feels like high school classes. Im a criminal Justice major and i like program except one huge thing it needs more hands traning so you prepared for the job once you graduate and not have move on for four degree and they need to have dorminties to live on i hardly see people on campus it almost empety they have two many campuses they need to have one and the paint falling off the school. I hoping i graduate and get job in but i feel unprepared to due the classes they made to if i knew this i would have gone out of state because these tech schools are scam been at midlands tech for my associates in arts degree if i was going for a different major i would be more thrild they have good health science program that gets job as soon as graduate due to the clinicals and broad certification test. some classes have been cancled to there harldy many students in eithermichael mcdaniel

The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

Don't make the same mistake I did , I took the auto collision at Okefenokee Tech in Waycross,Ga and from the first day I had nothing but trouble and one problem after another . first with registering for class I registered before the dead line and when I showed up foor class I wasn't processed I had to re register then they had the nerve to charge me sixty five dollars in late fee's. And now for the class or wanna be a class which is a joke because the teacher didn't know 90-98% of what he was suppose to teach us I'd ask questions on how to use tools or how to repair and the only answer I got out of him 99% of the time was I don't know so please DON'T come to this school save your money and/or go to another tech school..Jarrett Kirchman

Very happy with the LPN program here. I went to the Golden Isles campus. But took a few prerequisite and online classes here as well. Small class room sizes, teachers actually care if you show up and want you to succeed. I attended a previous school and in comparison this LPN program really breaks down concepts and you get so much clinical time, it’s nice to connect and see physically what you read about in the book & get hands on. Also Mrs. Teresa Henry.. best instructor. She pushes you yet encourages and believes in you. I could rave all day, money well spent at this school!kathryn postin

The staff has generally been helpful, but it's been impossible to speak with my advisor for the program I want to study. I've been trying to contact her for over a month now to no luck. Online and phone appointments both have not worked, I don't know if it's the system or her not showing up. I was told by email that I could come on campus any time during school hours to speak with her, and when I went she was not there. She told me she would call me twice now at specific times we planned and she never did. I don't know why it's been so difficult, but regardless I'll be going to school elsewhere. I've never had this much trouble contacting my advisor with a school before. Usually they want to speak with you and get you the help you need.Eden Kutch

I called wiregrass cosmotlogy department for a hair appt; the instructor, Karen Hutchson gave me an appointment the same day. My experience with the student Dacey Palma was Great; she washed my hair, blow dryed, and flat iron. The lab assistant Lesha Lee educated me on why it is important to get hair trimmed every 4-6 weeks; she took a picture of the back of my head, so I could see why I needed my ends trimmed; they were in really bad shape. They failed to disclose requiring an absolutely pointless "cornerstone" style class until refusing to let me register for classes for not having taken a useless waste of money course that they didn't tell me I was supposed to waste money on. Now, I'd need special permission, have to take the course on site, and would have to register for only that class (so financial aid goes out the window and loans come due!) I visited Northcentral Technical college for my son who is a senior in Elkhorn high school who made it to the semi-finals for WI Esports for the game Smite and they hosted the competition for the semi-finals and finals for numerous games from high schools all over WI and I had a great time and the campus was awesome and really nice, the set up was awesome and everyone was so welcoming, I'd go back anytime!!!Elizabeth Orwig

My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. With his support and all of SJVC workers, instructors, and all around everyone, I was able to get threw this pandemic we are still having and graduate with a 4.0 and being on the deans list. I graduated in the Summer of 2018, and I wanted to say overall my experience with OCTC had been good and not very much complaint, but I do have to say that I do not appreciate the way they shipped my AA diploma, and I know others have complained about this too. They shipped it in a flimsy envelope as if the achievement didn't deserve a better way of shipping. The certificate was crinkled on the edges and was bent down the middle. Overall I was able to flatten it out and frame it and was okay, but the lack of respect to graduates on this is kind of sad on OCTC's part. Future reference please do not treat your graduates this way. I wouldn't mind having a new one reshipped to me properly this time, and if I do get one then I will give OCTC a better rating. I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

Not a fan of this place but sadly do not have many options in my area staff say they are always there yet when you need them seem to be nowhere to be seen I called numerous times and non stop to a woman named Kim Ford she would never answer an I couldn't get a hold of anyone she was very rude an when I tried to drop the class felt like she was bullying me an teasing me for the reason she took a private matter an made it into a joke as I read her notes she sent to the other staff who work there. I felt embarrassed and violated that she would turn a private matter into a joke…and I also thought it was very convenient for her to finally answer her phone after the time was up that I would be charged for dropping the class…she is very uptight snarky and has a giant ego. Dealing with the staff here is difficult sometimes. I was supposed to start this past fall semester, and was told for three months via email that I was ready to go and that all I need to do was come down and register for my classes. I ended up waiting until the last day (which is my part of the fault in this, I should've gone sooneer) to go down to register for my classes. I sit and wait for two and a half hours, which I understand, they were busy. Then I get back to the advisor and she tells me there is a $20 transcript review fee that I haven't paid, and that because the registrar left a half hour ago while I was in the waiting room, I now could either pay my tuition out of pocket, or not go, even though I had the $20 for the fee in my hand. Professors and Assistant professors always want you to succeed. The financial aid office will do whatever they can to help you when you ask. There is always something fun happening on campus. A great college experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a more one on one experience. The classes are a lot smaller, so it's easier to get help if you need it. The instructors are always willing to work with you, and there are no student loans. Also, all the people complaining about the offices "not doing their jobs" are the ones who, most likely, are used to being handed everything. You are responsible for your paperwork. I've been going back and forth with the Cashier's Office today because they are in charge of distributing pell grant refund checks at the *beginning of the semester. It's now March and I have recieved anything because.no one told me until last week that if you have a second term split class that you won't see the check until AFTER that class starts. Even then no one ever answered.my questions until today when I had.to go see the Dean of Students. She wasn't in so they brought in the Financial aid person (should have been done since January). Long story short, that person told me to drop my class since it would be easier for them. I've had nothing but bad experiences at Shelton and it's no wonder that not many people after the CC dont continue their education. Think twice before attending this institution. I was enrolled to begin classes in the fall semester. One week before they began, DCTC contacted me saying they no longer offered the program that I signed up for. Again, ONE WEEK before classes began. This left me almost no time to scramble around looking for another school to attend for the fall semester. That kind of behavior is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. The whole process just felt off anyway. They were always slow to respond, they fought every step of the way when I presented transfer credits from another institution. I was somewhat relieved in a way knowing I wouldn't have to deal with them any further. What a waste of time.Adam

Didn’t have the best experience overall. The instructor for the automotive technology class was only genuine once while he was teaching me something. Every other time, there was sarcasm and rudeness when trying to ask him questions. Not to mention half of the kids (quote “kids”) in the class were constantly on their phones and messing around. I wouldn’t have minded, except that we were placed in groups, therefor graded as a group. Someone from admin called me a year or so after graduation and asked if I had gotten anywhere with my degree. Went to Trilogy beauty salon for a haircut and hair color appointment. Student did a really nice job on both. Affordable for gen eds but for a technical college they have some of the worse tech issues I have every seen my I have seen middle schools with better technical support. Do not take there advice on what laptop to buy since I was told to buy a Microsoft brand laptop but I needed to add every chrome extension needed to even access half the course material. I had to ask my instructors to use my personal email only since I could send emails through my school one but could not read any of the instructors emails.Gunfire Productions

Let's just say I'm no spring chicken. I got my Industrial electrical apprenticeship at the age of 46 and at the age of 50 I graduated. It was not an easy thing for me. But the program was excellent and they gave me alot of skills I use everyday at my job. Some days I think I should have tried fitting the instrumentation specialist into my schedule some how but with work hours it wouldn't have work. Id say they have everything you need to succeed at FVTC, because if I can do it at my age anybody can there!Heath Mischke

I went to the Wadley Campus, and it was everything that it promised. Class sizes were reasonable, 15-25 people depending on the subject, no lecture halls of 200 here. The instructors cared that you understood the material and on multiple occasions I had instructors go out of their way to help me when I needed it. Instructors understand being an adult and having adult problems like kids and mandatory overtime getting in the way of classes occasionally. I needed to visit the Opelika campus a time or two, and they are bigger than Wadley, but I got the impression that they were more heavily trafficked, too. The original campus is in Wadley, my grandmother(!) got her teaching degree there when she still had to teach 3 grades in a one-room schoolhouse. However, the Wadley campus was rebuilt five or six years ago, and is -gorgeous-, with a friendly community that's sort of grown up around the college. They DO offer financial aid in the form of both Pell Grants and Stafford/Perkins loans, and the Wadley campus has dorms as well. To the other posters: You -should've- known only original transcripts records-office-to-records-office would be accepted, that's the way every college does it. Also, if you didn't feel part of the community in Opelika, it may be something about that campus which is in direct competition with Auburn and located along the highway. Wadley is idyllic and friendly in the middle of a rural county with very little else in town besides the college. I recommend it to anyone who asks, and intend to send my daughter here one day.Jonathan Gregg

This school is ridiculous. After mailing all transcripts and sending teas scores, I go for the mandatory info session for nursing. I get there and find out that my transcripts cannot be accepted because although they were official they were mailed to me first. So I asked for them back, only to find out they had been opened so are no longer official. But she said the envelope said issues to student. Also my high school transcripts could not be accepted because although they were office they did not come directly from the high school, nailed to student first. I graduated in 2008 and Fulton County has a records office, they wont come from the high school once the next school year starts. Here's the kicker, I submitted all documents 6 weeks ago and never got notice about an issue and the deadline for nursing admission is today, in an hour.. Annndddd I drove from Atlanta. Andddd the dean refused to talk to me. And the main campus told me I should know better being that I already have a degree. Sooo yes, with transcript fees, mailing cost and gas I've thrown away 102$. It's a community college. What can you really expect from a public funded college in the state of Alabama with a grand total of a few thousand students? What you pay for is what you get, teachers and administrators compensated at a social worker rate, most likely as just some extra work as a side job. On that note, the campus itself is aesthetically pleasing and classroom sizes are small for optimum learning. Some teachers are superb, some are not, let not the difficulty of the class be the decider of proffesor quality but with how much more knowledge and better understanding you walk away with.Howell Scott

As a 4th year student who will be graduating in Spring 2018, I will be terribly sad to be forced to leave such a terrific school. UGA has provided me with all the opportunities I could ever want. I was looking for a college that would have all the resources I would need in order to go to Optometry School and UGA has exceeded my expectations. The classes here have truly prepared me well for the next 4 years of my life. I am grateful to have gone to such an amazing school. If you’re looking to go into the healthcare field and want to be best prepared for graduate school, UGA is the right way to go. Also, the campus is large and beautiful! After UGA, I will be attending the University of Alabama at Birmingham College of Optometry. So luckily, I won’t be too far from UGA. Attended the University of Georgia for 3 degrees. Absolutely loved my experience and wouldn't trade it for any other at another institution. In addition to Athens being a beautiful city and UGA having a beautiful campus, I felt I was appropriately challenged as a student. This is my second year at Chattanooga State and I love it. The professors absolutely care about your success and offer plenty of office hours to come by. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to complicated topics like financial aid. Other students seem just as committed to the work as everyone else. The campus is clean and very pleasant to be in. The only downside is the parking. It is worth removing a star. It is a nightmare at the beginning of the semester. Unless you wake up early and arrive around eight or nine in the morning, you will struggle to find a parking spot, which is kind of awful when you don't have class for three more hours. Otherwise, I cannot imagine a better community college here. There are lots of events every month that students can participate in. The cafeteria food is pretty decent and offers a large selection. The library allows food and drink so that you can ear while you work or study. Little things like this make Chatt State super nice. Also, since someone mentioned the online classes, they will keep you very busy. The instructors expect more work than an actual lecture class, but it is manageable as long as you keep track of your time and when certain things are due.Onyx R

I was a student here and I recently transferred to a school closer to my home. My experience at this school horrible(thank to Ms. D. Jackson). I had a issue with another student and I brought it to her attention in hopes she would help solve the issue, but she did the complete opposite. Since she knew the girl's mom, Ms. Jackson decided to team up with her and "TRY" to get me kicked out of the school. I am just glad that the higher ups seen through it all and nothing came of their wrong doings. Just spent a fun couple weeks jumping through admission hoops here. Beginning to end the process was a pain, with uninformed staff, unnecessary phone tag, and an online portal that couldn't be more labyrinthine if it were coded by Daedalus… The kicker? The class I jumped all those hoops for was not even on offer. Now, call me old fashioned, but when someone asks me for a thing I don't have, I tend to lead with the fact that I don't have it. My daughter has been planning on going to Northeast for over a year now. We sent in our housing application, fee, and dorm request last year. She received a letter that she got the dorm she wanted! She elected to go to Northeast at this point because she was so happy! She met her 3 roommates for the 4 person dorm room! All is good… wait… nope guess not. We received a call today that they are overbooked on kids and jamming 2 more students into their 4 person dorm room. 6 people in 1 dorm. Where will 2 xtra beds go? How will 6 people use 4 tiny closets? How will 6 girls shower and get ready in 1 tiny bathroom every morning. I called to say—- ummmm- no…. and I was told “it is not our choice”. I’m sorry, we are paying over $10,000 for a dorm room and it’s not our choice? I have never been more disappointed and do not know what to do. Can we even get into another school this late in the year? Did Northeast do this because they know that we are stuck? Literally so upset. I recently completed a summer course at North East and was informed that they do not provide a forum for students to give feed back to professors on the course. I believe that it is note worthy for professors to be evaluated by the subject/students to see if they are performing up to expectation or not. The professor was unprepared in the syllabus as to what was necessary to purchase for books and materials. The syllabus stated 4 materials were needed and we never used two of the items listed. Followed MLA citation in book that was required but docked on grade because professor used different style in his notes (required book referenced Print vs Web). He didn't want this noted. How are we as students to learn from our mistakes if we don't get assignments graded and back before the next assignment due. All assignment built off the previous assignment! This was a good school overall. I went here from 2009 to 2011. It was a small school and they were just building their multicultural department so it was something to be desired but it was good education. If you came to class on time and did you're part of the work to be prepared you made it through. There was true traditional student to teach your advisement here for the students career path. Instead of wanting what’s best for me and guiding me to the right direction at such young age, she loaded my first semester with 18+ hours and insist I joined this healthcare group on campus that never happened. My parents only wanted the best when it came to my education and during our meeting with all of us she made it clear that 18+ along with the healthcare group will allow my time at middle Georgia to be a great one. Well that all was a lie! After my first semester and constantly going to her and saying my course load was heavy she insist that I keep every class I started with although I was sinking. I was so concern I would always schedule meetings with her just to hear “Kayla, you may never be a nurse” or “ I don’t ever see you getting into nursing school.” After my parents were notified of her remarks, a complaint was filed and I didn’t continue to my time at middle Georgia. By my hard work and determination I am a nurse now!! (1+)and I’m grateful for transitioning to a school that only wanted what’s best for me. In other words if you’re going to middle ga, make sure you’re guided by an advisor who truly cares about EVERY student, not only the ones who fit their standards!kayla mullins

Definitely the campus you should go to if you want frequent class cancelations from gang activity, evidence found, gunshots, trespassers, and lazy professors who don't answer questions in emails when asked. Lakeview Pointe had the worst staff. The RLC Kamy Shah would constantly fine people for any reason at all, even if unjustified. I had them constantly come into my dorm room everyday and take personal belongings, and even browse on my computer and phone without consent. I tried reporting this to student housing, but they never updated me on the investigation even after countless emails and phone calls. This college is probably one of the biggest cash grabs there are as far as intention of failure. This is the school to go to to get harassed, blackmailed, stolen from, fined, and potentially physically harmed.Daniel Chung-Rigby (Daniellian)

The graduation rate for the school isn't great, around 24% the last time I checked. The classes here are harder than they are at the 2 year schools in the area so I've heard. Most of the professors are knowledgeable and helpful though. If you plan to get a bachelors here be prepared to travel to the different campuses I don't think any of the individual campuses offer every course.Shania Berry

Bruh, the whole school trash…literally. The instructors ain’t instructing. Do not take online classes, the teachers NEVER respond! They didn’t post assignments until 2 weeks after class started and I was literally begging each one to respond to my messages to see what was going on.. THEY NEVER RESPONDED! Then they posted the missed assignments last (with no communication to the students) and expected it to be done in 2 days. I was sick with Covid and emailed every one of them to make-up work, no response initially (which caused me to fall behind), and then when I kept emailing, everyone lied and said they re-opened the missed assignments but did not! It took over 3 months to be admitted to the school. I kept calling and getting switched from department to department , no call backs and no emails- I should’ve knew then. I’m looking for another school to switch to next semester that will let me take my Accounting major online- I REFUSE to give this school FREE money! They need to be reported and sued. Maybe even closed down. THIS ISN’T A REAL SCHOOL! MARK MY WORDS! Lets all work together and get this school shut down permanently! A Mississippian now trying to get back in school after seven years,found Atlanta technical college.I had the hardest most difficult time reaching a advisor for the Paralegal course. I called numerous times and left a voicemail. I also called the dean and no answer. I sent an email to my advisor and received no reply. I finally got a call from my advisor like one day before the summer course start . I was so upset I wanted to attend this summer 2022. The advisor advised me not to start because class starts the next day and I would be rushing and scrambling to buy books and schedule classes. I hate that this school makes it hard for us who are really trying to get this magic ticket to the so called “ American Dream”. I’ve been to better schools in Mississippi and Indiana. I applied and send all required docs in July ai go to the school 1x a week just to be told they have a new system and my application will be updated in 48-72 hours.. No one answered any contact number and whoever is answering the the calls either automatically puts the calls in the waiting queue, or doesn’t want to answer your questions and rushes you off the phone, this morning alone I have been on hold two hours and have yet to speak to anyone. I applied in July this is ridiculous!!!!ashlei cj
