20 Best Vet Tech Programs In Akron, OH (2022 Updated)

Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I absolutely have no regrets about this school, and I enjoyed my time there.Kevin Frazier

I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. Stark State also always keeps their students in the know through text message and emails. They give you the tools you need in order to succeed. Highly recommend this college!elisabeth brian

I graduated in the Summer of 2018, and I wanted to say overall my experience with OCTC had been good and not very much complaint, but I do have to say that I do not appreciate the way they shipped my AA diploma, and I know others have complained about this too. They shipped it in a flimsy envelope as if the achievement didn't deserve a better way of shipping. The certificate was crinkled on the edges and was bent down the middle. Overall I was able to flatten it out and frame it and was okay, but the lack of respect to graduates on this is kind of sad on OCTC's part. Future reference please do not treat your graduates this way. I wouldn't mind having a new one reshipped to me properly this time, and if I do get one then I will give OCTC a better rating. Owensboro Community & Technical College offers a variety of programs including: mechatronics, electrical maintenance, computer programming. Everything you could hope for from a community college. Great classes and teachers. Classes are cheaper than any 4 year college and credits are guarenteed to transfer to other local colleges. Out of the 4 community colleges I have taken courses at, ABTech has been the worst by far. I have had the worst experience with advising/registration trying to get scheduled for the classes I want. Everyone I speak to just turns me in circles and no one seems to understand what to do in order to help me go where I need to go. They only give you 48 hours once classes start to switch them around if need be, but you need an advisor to approve before you can register for anything different, but you can’t get in to meet with an advisor till days after the deadline. I feel so defeated. I worked so hard to get the courage to return to school, just to not be able to take any courses this semester. Wasting my time and my financial aide. The staff here are for the most part very friendly and easy to be around. The administration however, is terribly unorganized. It's not uncommon to get information from their website or info center, but be told the complete opposite by a faculty member or chair person. I was following a recommended schedule for the program I'm in, when it was changed completely without any notice. Half the classes I was told to take this Fall are no longer offered, and it will now take me twice as long to complete my program. Long story short- don't attend AB tech if you're pursuing a degree or diploma. I'd only recommend this place to continuing education students.Andy Albert

LOVE this school! I am graduating this May from the Radiography program and will graduate next May with an AS in Biochemistry. AB Tech has made the process smooth and efficient for me, just as I worked hard to make sure I turned everything needed for processing my information early to them to ensure success. The teachers are fantastic and truly care about their students. I am so grateful for the writing, math and science study labs as well because the staff there gave me the extra help I needed whenever a concept was tough. Not a fan of this place but sadly do not have many options in my area staff say they are always there yet when you need them seem to be nowhere to be seen I called numerous times and non stop to a woman named Kim Ford she would never answer an I couldn't get a hold of anyone she was very rude an when I tried to drop the class felt like she was bullying me an teasing me for the reason she took a private matter an made it into a joke as I read her notes she sent to the other staff who work there. I felt embarrassed and violated that she would turn a private matter into a joke…and I also thought it was very convenient for her to finally answer her phone after the time was up that I would be charged for dropping the class…she is very uptight snarky and has a giant ego. The other staff seemed to be ok so no problems but they just seem annoyed to help youRyan Earl

Dealing with the staff here is difficult sometimes. I was supposed to start this past fall semester, and was told for three months via email that I was ready to go and that all I need to do was come down and register for my classes. I ended up waiting until the last day (which is my part of the fault in this, I should've gone sooneer) to go down to register for my classes. I sit and wait for two and a half hours, which I understand, they were busy. Then I get back to the advisor and she tells me there is a $20 transcript review fee that I haven't paid, and that because the registrar left a half hour ago while I was in the waiting room, I now could either pay my tuition out of pocket, or not go, even though I had the $20 for the fee in my hand. Professors and Assistant professors always want you to succeed. The financial aid office will do whatever they can to help you when you ask. There is always something fun happening on campus. If I had another option I would never go to this university. They preach all of these wonderful things but when it comes down to action, they show none of it. Their system that is supposed to help students get their classes organized and keep them on the right track works, but only if you need absolutely no help. I was a second away from getting a lawyer before I actually recieved any kind of direction or assistance. Come to find that there are other people I know that have similar stories of having been given no help and shrugged off or just tossed an answer that is not helpful at all. Had my father not gone to the Dean my degree would have been stunted. It would have taken another 1-2 years to complete with the advice given to me by a secretary that refused to tell me anyone I could go to for assistance. She rather throw my EXCUSED medical absence (which I have only ever had one, and it was to have my daughter) in my face as a reason to show my incompetence and that my lack of help was MY fault. Had it not been for my parents support I probably would have dropped out due to the neglect and disrespect that I have been give from the people at this university. Not to mention they put someone in charge of a girls sports team who had been previously charged at their university with sexual assault. I have so many more examples from others around me that have had similar issues and have been ignored or bounced around from person to person when asking for academic advice or help.Tessa M

Love YSU. While this college has a lot to offer and is exceptionally friendly to ppl with disabilities I wish the department I am studying at was bigger. We only have 3 professors and unfortunately one of them is so ineffective I had to repeat every one of his classes. I learned more from my tutors in his classes than from the professor himself. Head professor is cool and extremely helpful. Also the equipment we use other than the computers are horribly out of date, built and used since the 60s and 70s. Unfortunately due to life circumstances I have to move out of state. Hopefully the next school will be just as rich as YSU and has a bigger department with up to date technology.Imperfect Xennial

YSU is such a quiet and peaceful place to go to school at. Sometimes I liked to just sit on the grass under a tree and listen to the birds and the wind as life just passed me by. The buildings are a complex maze of twists and turns that will leave your head feeling like you just entered the twilight zone, and while some students are rather rude the majority of them are extremely kind hearted. I personally feel that the school could use with a better organization system, slightly more thought out staff and faculty, but other than that it is a very amazing place to learn.Reynard Louernia

Went to Trilogy beauty salon for a haircut and hair color appointment. Student did a really nice job on both. All the students were dressed professionally They were wearing nice looking smocks unlike some other beauty schools were they wore whatever they wished Trilogy salon uses very high quality products which is appreciated Students do take more time completing a hair cut or hair color Instructors are there if they have any questions and everything they do is looked at by the teacher Students gain valuable experience there Highly recommendedKathy Salm

Affordable for gen eds but for a technical college they have some of the worse tech issues I have every seen my I have seen middle schools with better technical support. Do not take there advice on what laptop to buy since I was told to buy a Microsoft brand laptop but I needed to add every chrome extension needed to even access half the course material. I had to ask my instructors to use my personal email only since I could send emails through my school one but could not read any of the instructors emails.Gunfire Productions

Let's just say I'm no spring chicken. I got my Industrial electrical apprenticeship at the age of 46 and at the age of 50 I graduated. It was not an easy thing for me. But the program was excellent and they gave me alot of skills I use everyday at my job. Some days I think I should have tried fitting the instrumentation specialist into my schedule some how but with work hours it wouldn't have work. Id say they have everything you need to succeed at FVTC, because if I can do it at my age anybody can there!Heath Mischke

I love Columbus State and this is why: Before Columbus State: Growing up, I was never interested in the information taught in school, because I did not feel like it was applicable to the real world. After a year at a private college, I was originally apprehensive to restart college at any college. I was also scared of a community college. I grew up in Michigan, and I felt like our local community colleges had negative stigmas attached to them. Luckily, my older brother took me into the application office in Delaware, OH to take the entrance exam. I believe I tested out of an english and/or a math class. While at Columbus State: I would like to note that I always attended C-State as I held a part time job (10-20 hours a week). I originally attended an EMT-B class at Columbus State. The class was more challenging than I had anticipated and was pretty time consuming. I received a B in this course, but found employment immediately in the field and felt confident in my skills. A year later, I returned to C-State with the desires to go to nursing school. Thanks to ample meetings with advisors in Health and Human Services, I decided to take some prerequisite nursing classes as there was a waiting list to apply for their nursing program (while I worked part time as an EMT-B). During this year, I found more confidence in my work and studies, feelings of support and encouragement from staff, and rewards from hard work. I was also able to sign up easily for academic accommodations for the first time in my life! I loved my time at Columbus State within this year! I never thought I would love school or receive my first 4.0 GPA in the spring and summer semesters. For the first time, school finally felt fulfilling for me. After Attending Columbus State: I decided to leave C-State after a full academic year, and I pursued a BSN degree through another local school. I often look back at my time at C-State and regret that I did not take more classes here while saving a decent amount of money! I would suggest night classes if you are willing and able. I found that students were more likely to be hard working, more mature, disciplined, and also employed. I also found professors who taught night classes were often from OSU and more understanding. Generally my teachers were all very competent, funny, and held experience in the world. The only negative experience that I found was dealing with C-Stat's Police department staff and accessing their gym/locker room. Students must sign up manually for the gym locker rooms every semester at C-State's Police department and then wait for several days for your card to be accepted from security/police. This system seems dated and non-productive. I feel like this process should be easily automated. This issue led to a negative experience I had with a police officer that identified as Sergeant Diamond. I felt like this officer escalated my personal situation while being disrespectful and patronizing. Another time I was eating a meal in my car between classes when a police car pulled up to me and asked why I was parked between two spots in an empty parking lot and then asked me to pick a spot. I'm sure the police department deals with things they don't want to. I could have been lucky and experienced two poor attitudes on hard days, but I do not feel like the police department is fulfilling their mission that states they want to provide "exceptional customer service" for their students based on my only two experiences with them. I would take a look at how the police staff is trained at C-State.Connor Hill

I have enjoyed Columbus State and majority of the people I’ve met here while on track to my BA but this college needs some serious restructuring. The biggest thing I wish Cstate would look into is their faculty. When I go to ratemyprofessor.com and see many of them at a 1 to 2 star rating, that concerns me. I have personally had good and bad professors here and majority of the good ones were adjunct professors, the bad ended up being tenured faculty. I wish the college would look into the gripes students have and start to question whether or not they should be hiring adjunct professors to replace them. The only other major issue I’ve had is from advisors. The point of the advisor is to advise the student on their education path, but when I have a genuine question or concern, interrupting/having a snarky attitude doesn’t come off as professional to me. One last thing, please talk with the finance department about putting a budget together for another parking garage. I don’t go during peak hours anymore but when I did parking was atrocious. It will be 6 weeks this semester (Spring 2019) before CSCC releases financial aid refunds. I cannot believe they get away with this! OSU is 9 days after the start of the semester! Some people rely on these excess funds to survive another semester of school! This should be illegal and I’m pretty sure it is because according to federal financial aid funds are to be released up to a max of 14 days after the start of a semester! Insane to make people wait 6 weeks+ to receive their refund. Also, parking is obnoxious here any time of day. It also seems to me that each department does not have a good linear structure of teaching so each professor is just kind of doing their own thing whichever way they feel like doing it. Some classes are too long some are too short. It really feels like no one is in control here it’s just a free for all I guess. Employees are not friendly in any way shape or form. Honestly the only good thing about this school is how cheap it is. “You get what you pay for.” 🤷‍♂️614 Realness

Honestly, should have listened to everyone discrediting this school. Cheaper ain't better. This school has stressed me out and I've only been attending for one semester. They keep changing my aid amount, will not reimburse my refund and all together have made my college experience a nightmare in hell especially with me working full-time. It always something new going on with my financial information for the following semester and new requirements that were completed prior to me attending resurfacing. Who has the time to keep re-ensuring that they're getting the money they already previously accepted? It doesn't matter how early you send your FAFSA in, they will find a way to have it reprocessed so late that you won't recieve the amount you already accepted. Honestly, I want to withdraw this semester but my grades are so high it would be no point.Jazmyliena Martin

Very poor experience, people don't care about the disabled students, they had charged me over $1k for not helping me get into my classes and they've abandoned me in 2010. One star for absolute failure. Edit: 9/14/2022 this so-called trio program from Owens community college isn't helpful not resourceful of how am I supposed to go to college, they sign me up late not knowing I'm missing out on my assignments and these advisors in the school are lazy and rude like they don't care for the disabled students such as myself. Attended Owens and completed an Associates degree in 2001. Returned to a local area 4 year college to complete a Bachelor of Science. Due to the high cost and mediocre experience. I chose to take as many transfer classes as possible at Owens. A full time semester was a fraction of a 4 year college semester. Pretty rigorous course material and most importantly, courses are well structured, you could actually work ahead following the syllabus. Students and staff are pleasant. Have my 4 year degree, and returning to Owens for certificate programs to fill in the gaps from said 4 year college curriculum.Brent A.

Manor College is a really great place to get started with many, many different programs to get your foot in to the door and get wonderful experiences in any field you are thinking about going into. Its a smaller campus, so you get to know people a lot faster. Classes are a wonderful size so you don't feel crowded, and it makes getting to know your teacher on a more professional and personal scale. The staff at Manor are the most wonderful and helpful people you will ever meet, they actually get to know you and make sure you are staying on track of all of your assignments, and staying on track with courses so that you graduate on time. Manor has a wonderful basketball and track team, along with many other programs such as Student Senate and CAB (campus activity board), which I joined my first semester and plan on joining again. They have many, many different activities that they plan throughout the school year to make sure everyone is staying involved and getting to know other students and make new friends. They are very inclusive with many different types of people and talk about many different types of religion and ethics so that everyone gets a chance to feel special and then the other students stay more informed about other people lifestyles. Our president, President Peri is the most wonderful man you will ever meet and always make sure you are doing well, and getting to stressed and when ever you see him he makes time to just catch up with everyone and get feedback about everyones lives and classes. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience at Manor College. The beautiful campus hosts the bright eyed individuals seeking to further their education and the dedicated faculty and staff do their best to provide an excellent experience for all students. The small class sizes foster strong connections in and out of the classroom, and almost everyone gets to know you by name. One would think that a relatively small school wouldn't be able to pull in talented professors and bright students, but all of my professors during my time here have many experiences and are amazing at what they do. The campus life office is dedicated to everything that happens outside of the classroom, and they have so many events for students, some of which I have been directly involved with, and you can tell that everyone deeply cares about what they do here. Manor is going to grow exponentially in the future, with a fantastic new President in Jonathan Peri, a man with a vision so great and connections so deep that Manor will most likely become not just the premier two year catholic college, but one of the premier four year catholic colleges. If you want a quality education delivered by some of the best professors I've ever met on a beautiful campus in a suburban area, look no further than Manor College.Kyle McIntosh

My son graduated from Manor College a couple of years ago. It was a very positive experience for him. He has ADD & Aspergers Autism; he didn’t want to tell the faculty so that he was treated the same as any other college student. The staff here is very easy for a student to talk to & gave my son any help he asked for. My son graduated with honors with his associate degree in accounting. For a small community college it is wonderful. Beautiful campus with a creek running behind the dorms & has resident Canadian geese which wander freely on the campus. It is located in the suburbs outside of the Philadelphia area. The college is affiliated with many other colleges & recently has started to offer bachelors degree programs besides their associate degree programs. They are known best for their Vet Tech program & their dental programs. They have their own farm & community dental center which are great for the students practical experiences.Evelyn

I’ve only had on great instructor, Stephen Marlowe, but the worst instructor there is Amanda Bylczynski by far! She is extremely rude and is unwilling to help. She refuses to admit when she is wrong and tends to give multiple directions to assignments that contradict each other and gives you a poor grade when you don’t follow the “correct” set of directions. It’s hard to stay away from her though since she teaches history, geography, sociology, and is an advisor. Since she is an advisor she tries to push you to take her favorite classes that she teaches rather than put you in classes that will benefit your degree! I am majoring in education and she put me in her history class (her favorite) instead of letting me take sociology which would have clearly fit my path much better! Don’t waste your time at this school. They treat everyone like a high school student whether you are or not. If you are looking for a community college to start your college career go to Sinclair! This is the worst school in the country, the staff is over paid the classes are the equivalent to a junior high school. I had applied there for art classes and did online classes and I had completed all my work correctly and did the assignments on time and with the correct format. Stayed up for hours on end completing assignments putting a lot of hard work into them and still got bad grades for some odd reason? So I email my teachers and call the school asking what I can do to improve them the phone tree did not work properly and my teachers never emailed me back. I honestly think this school should get some lessons on how to run, worst school ever…DJ Crow

First off the professors are great, they help you and answer all questions. In the 5 years I have attended, there are only a few that were mediocre, but they are gone now. Advisors are helpful, but you will need to make sure they know what you want. As an older student the school is affordable and most classes are available in the evening. Down fall is several classes like Calculus, pre calculus, music, and other lab classes have limited availability in the evenings and in some cases not at all. They now offer scholarships for older students who do not qualify for other financial aid. No out of county fees unlike some schools.Jen ny

This college has frequent issues with their website when turning in or doing assignments. Return books to bookstore that you rent, and they "misplace" some, and charge YOU for it. No one fixes it…. Hard to get in touch with everyone. No way to work on a time frame with this college with issues with websites, and no way to get in contact with ANYONE you need to regarding logging in, assignments, registering, financial aid etc. etc. Last time i signed up everything took so long classes had already started for a whole week while i was still trying to get set up for each class. The FIRST day i was on the class page to try to catch up the teacher gave me a 0 on my first several assignments… EVEN THOUGH… I stayed up late the day I registered and got my books and tried to work toward catching up… I want to go back to college, but I don't think this is the one to be in…Amanda Arnett

The bookstore is horrible. The employees, not the student employees, were terribly rude. They did not give me all the textbooks I ordered online and it took 3 people and yelling for them to finally understand that they did not give me the access code. I even brought back the receipt and my actual order confirmation. They lied and argued with me about my order being fulfilled and held for me. When I was looking into going to Ross I was a little apprehensive because I wasn't sure if this program was really any good. From the minute I walked in the door all my apprehension was gone!! The admissions staff made me feel right at home and walked me through the process step by step and answered all my questions. The financial aid staff was wonderful and answered all my questions about my financial aid and got it processed quickly. The school director was absolutely the best!! She takes time to actually sit you down and find out how you are doing in your courses and she is available to fix any problems you may have. The instructors are very friendly and knowledgeable about the subjects they are teaching you and are also available to answer any questions and offer whatever help you may need. Career services literally will not stop looking for employment for you until you have a job in your field. The best decision I ever made was going to Ross and it has literally changed my life forever!!Carol Riddle

Honestly so disappointed. A complete lack of communication from day one. Today should be my graduation date, and I can't even get an email response about anything. The education I received was so far off track from what I was told I would receive (Billing and Coding) and I think I might be qualified to answer phones and make minimum wage now that I am done. I get plenty of communication about sharing on social media but cannot even get a response about what I am to do next now that my qualifications for completion are met. Updates needed for the sake of the teachers and students as far as efficacy goes. Machinery such as autoclaves and centrifuge could stand to be updated as well. All staff and personnel at Ross is absolutely wonderful and I have and will continue to sing this school's praises. I was very happy with Kris Jackson she did my tour and always answered me when I had any questions. I started in January of 2021 still in the mist of COVID. I had a good experience, be prepared NOTHING IS EASY you have to study study study. I feel like most of the teachers there really do want to see you do good and will genuinely try to do a lot to help. I struggled a lot but there is always tutoring and someone willing to help. With every school comes drama that has nothing to do with school but just to know. There’s a lot of commitment when signing up so just know what your getting yourself into. The school teaches you a lot you need to know and has plenty of resources if you need more help. Only thing I wish I knew was more things that we could’ve been taught for the “real world” like a lot we get taught we need to know but there is some small things we have to know like trying to find veins by ourself or little tricks other than that I had a good experience. I would recommend if you are able to commit to a long hard program it is very rewarding in the long end.Emily Pham

As a former graduate of VTI and soon to be practicing veterinarian medicine for about a year I cannot thank the staff and mentors enough for caring and teaching me the skills that I use in everyday practice. They were always so thoughtful and there when you needed a helping hand wether it was something as big as tutoring before all classes started or as small as just small words of advice to keep students going through the program. The classes are geared towards exactly what you need to know and all the teachers seem to be very knowledgeable in which subjects they teach. If you are as lucky as me throughout the program you may even adopt your own 4 legged bestfriend you met during kennel duty!! 🙂Haidyn Craig

The Vet Tech Institute is an incredible school that teaches the reality of the animal career field. It teaches self discipline, personal instinct to trust, and an incredible amount of respect for the workers in any animal field. The staff are so incredibly patient and truly show their passion to teach and to love the animals we work with on an everyday basis. Being able to work with animals everyday in class only better creates a self confidence that has to be grown. When I came into tour the campus I wasn't set on enrolling. The admission staff made me feel so at ease that I signed up and enrolled that day. I liked how fast past and hands on it was but the attendance rules are a little crazy especially when you have personal circumstances that require time off and you aren't given any sympathy. It would be nice to have more understanding teachers or higher ups that could help out a little better when you are going through a time that you need the help the most, like having a baby.Mariya Molina

I have been a student at Herzing since September of 2018 and I have watched that school go down hill. They can not keep consistent nursing instructors and have to make changes to student schedules 2 days before classes start. When they know most of their student population are parents with the majority of us being single parents that work and go to school. But they have made it abundantly clear that they do no support students unless they have money to pay out of pocket. I have watched faculty that has been there since I started grow more and more stressed with the “behind the scenes” politics that go on inside the school. I have watched instructors walk out the door and not look back. Herzing advertises that they are family oriented and all of that but it’s all a joke. They hired the nursing chair to add “ diversity” among the faculty. They have students file complaints on instructors because some of the instructors and other faculty is the rudest people I have ever met. They claim to be a nonprofit organization but have increased cost of tuition twice in just under two years. Oh and don’t have nothing go wrong in your personal life when you fail a class because they don’t care. You can have plan after plan but it won’t be enough for them to let you finish your program when you only have one semester left. This school has been the biggest waste of money and time of my life. I use to enjoy going to school in the mornings I loved the things that I got to learn on a daily basis.. but as their instructors left so did my pride in the school. They do not follow any of the standards that they hold their students to. They don’t educate you if you make a mistake they reprimand you and fail you. They will show you over and over again that you success means nothing to them.. they just want the paycheck.Misty Romigh

Recommended for real people that have real lives and real responsibilities. I attended the online program for my bachelors and masters degrees in nursing, though there is a stand alone campus here in Akron. I was able to attend both programs full time and I will consider returning when it's time for any post-masters certificates. The admissions department was easy to work with and did not use tactics that made me feel pressured or rushed with deciding to enroll and then re-enroll for my advanced degree. The professors were as helpful as they could be and did everything they could do to prepare me to pass my certification exam (which I did on the first attempt!). The resources that we were provided surprised me because they were so accessible and effective. Lastly, the very important behind the scenes staff-accounts, student services and advisors, library, and tech support were amazing. They always addressed my concerns within a timely fashion and what was not known, they sought out an answer and closed the loop for me. My student services advisor (Meaghan G.) continued to answer questions in this same manner even after I completed the program. Thank you to all of the staff. A challenging journey could have been worse without all of your support and efforts!H M Q

Save your money and time!!!!! Students don’t mean anything to them besides a hefty paycheck. They will side on the faculties side every time. The nursing chair is the biggest joke of all the faculty and is the most unprofessional person I have encountered at the school. Some professors care and want you to learn the material, while others play favoritism among students. Don’t worry about signing the syllabus, addendum, nursing handbook, or the P.R.I.C.E. to success paper because the school doesn’t support the policies if its against a faculty member. They can’t keep professors and the student turn over rate is beyond high. Finally if you want to take general education in a classroom setting, not going to happen here because they let go of their general education professors and it’s done all online. So be prepared to pay a ton of money to teach yourself.Danielle Crow

The worst group of teachers & counselors I have ever experienced. When a student has trouble passing classes they take over and over and over…says something about those teachers. I only know of one person graduating in 5 years from this school. I do not recommend this school, it's a waste of time and money.Linda Sorenson

It's a difficult program and not for everyone. That being said I love the small class sizes and hands on learning that I have received. I appreciate how the whole staff including the financial aid department are available to help you succeed. I am so happy that I took the opportunity to get my education here.Ginger Pospisil

Terrible program, the cost is easily 4x more than anywhere else and the knowledge they offer is no more than a basic 6 week long course. They say that you can receive college credit at their program. That is a lie. If you are looking to be a vet tech I would stay clear of this "school"Mark Glass

Very upset with this place! My husband and I brought our 3 month old German Shepherd puppy here to get an X-ray of one of her legs because she was limping. Turned out that she had fractured her leg from jumping off the back of the couch. They told us that she would need surgery within the next day or two and that it would cost $2,500! With that being said, our immediately thought was, we don’t have that kind of money. So, I sold my car today. I sold my car to make sure that we had the money to get the surgery that she needed. It took 3 days to get the money together, just 3 days. My husband brought her in to see about getting the surgery there since I sold my car. Now they are saying the surgery may not be needed since it is ‘starting to heal’. They are also quoting us on twice the cost as we were originally given! It’s a little odd to me that now that we have the money, they aren’t going to get her the surgery that she needs. She has an appointment there for next week, 5 days from now, to see how it has ‘healed’. For being a ‘teaching hospital’, this place sure charges more than they should! When we brought her in 3 days ago, it cost us $387 to get an X-ray of her leg. My dogs mean the world to me and I would do anything for them, seeing how I sold my car to get the money for the surgery, that they may not even do!Sara Korosa

I took my dog in late at night for an eye issue. The student that did Duke's initial check was very friendly and professional. He and the doctor came in to let me know what was wrong with Duke and to let me know they wanted to check out his eye a little closer. One of the tests would cost an additional $30 and they checked with me before performing it. The next morning I received a follow up call to see how Duke was doing and to see if I had any questions. When I went in I was worried because I had heard they were pricey. My total bill including the eye drops was cheaper than Duke's last appointment at a local vet when he had an ear infection. I love my primary vet, but I won't hesitate to use Purdue again for after hours or weekend emergencies! On a side note googling dog ailments is about as effective as WebMD – Duke only had conjunctivitis, but the internet convinced me he'd be blind by morning.Alexis Hoffman

This place is more concerned with making money than your animals health. I was hopeful, when the new equine facility was completed, that things would be different, but it may be worse. Dr. Olave did a terrible job during our most recent emergency visit. Now you're not allowed in the exam rooms anymore, to witness how they are treating your animal. We have given them several chances to make a positive impact for all of our farm animals and pets over the span of 8 years. We also stay away from their partner facilities, which includes ALL WEST CENTRAL VETERINARIAN CLINICS. Dr. Couch almost killed our dog due to medical negligence and Dr. J Anderson completely dismissed our concern for another pet who ended up having heart abnormalities (which is the concern I brought him there for).S. We visited the Stow Falls Pet Clinic for the first time this past week. The entire staff there was really courteous and friendly. Dr. Victoria Kwasa examined our dog Delaney and she was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely caring, patient, thorough, and very open and friendly. I have been to many vet's over the years with the many dogs that we've had in the past, and I don't think that I've ever felt such a high level of confidence and comfort in a Vet/Doctor as I did with Dr. Kwasa. We are so grateful that we found her. We currently have two dogs and we will not go anywhere else for their care in the future!David J.

I have taken my animals here since they opened. I switched from there other hospital for convenience. The Girls are great. We have the most understanding doctor who took so much time to listen and exam my 12 year old Dane mix to help give him some pain relief and work out a weightloss plan to help him out as well. She asked me to let people know how my dogs have no tartar on their teeth at 10 and 12 years old and the product is not horribly high in calories so he can still have his bone every night so I am attaching a picture. My dogs won't eat anything besides this brand.paula harmon

I called to make my cat & puppy an appointment today. The girl on the phone said they are Not accepting new patients. Which is really odd because I called about a month ago & they were happy to have my Aussie puppy neutered & get his shots. Which is connected to StowKent animal hospital as well. So 3 times a vet can't accept my Aussie puppy to get a rabies shot. Poor service blaming it on the other person I spoke to a month ago (must be new she said) the girl I spoke to a month ago was well informed. Pet Guards here I comeLala Riddle
