20 Best Surgical Tech Programs In Omaha, NE (2022 Updated)

Writing a review for UNMC is an emotional task for me because they have been there for my mom and family through life, sickness, recovery, health, and even death. In all they've been there for they did right, without judgement or bias, and with care, hope, and support. I live in Kansas, but I know this hospital and all the towers better than some streets near my home. I've interacted with many specialty doctors, nurses, techs, housekeeping staff, ER, security team members, and so many others. We've experienced teams in Kidney Transplant, Wound Care, Cardiovascular, Cardiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Derm, Cancer Center, and the Comfort Care Team. I can tell you that these teams are here because they love what they do. If you're considering UNMC as a new place to care for your needs I would do so without hesitation. When my mom moved they were so helpful in her transition to Kansas. Without them we'd be lost. We will miss each of her teams, their knowledge, and their care. It was so hard to leave.Tam E

Very disappointed in care provided. Nursing seems sorely under staffed. Although they frequently have cell phone in hand. Communication between staff (doctors and nursing staff)is lacking. Communication of providers and patients is insufficient. Facility is dirty dusty and run down. And should we talk about HIPPA….nothing to talk about….it doesn't exist there. Hep locks do not get flushed even after several days….negligent much? Showers/bed baths not offered to patient even after 3 days in-house. Are they trying for some nosocomial infections?S B

Today I went to Nebraska medical center and the eye clinic. The people that are very friendly and nice it's clean has three levels. The doctor I seen seem very knowledgeable and was very concerned with my eye condition it was funny when we first pulled up and parked in the first row there was a broom next to the handicap sign made me laugh remind me of handicap which parking. Someone probably had clean snow off their car with the broom and left it there.Karen Beautiful

Waste of time and money. Only 1 microbiology teacher this semester… same one I had last semester that couldn’t speak English and sent us to the dean if we had ANY sort of question. I tried to get a different one this semester but there was only one that they were offering. I reached out for help multiple times and never got any help other than “try finding new ways to study” could never have zoom meetings to discuss a problem. My councilor was absolutely no help, wasted 2 years trying to get things done and she always said I “had” to do this and this first when I have my pre reqs plus MANY more classes completed and even retook micro to get a better grade, with a teacher that can’t speak English and refused to help his own students. He always talked about covid and we never learned anything that was on the actual tests. Total waste of time and money, skip jw and go to a university.Mckenzie Vallee

Great place to continue your education. Affordable and efficient. A smaller college like John Wood can work to your advantage. It did for me. There was no overcrowded rooms and parking lots. It has a peaceful location with a clean atmosphere to function correctly. Teachers have more time to work with their students to help them with individual needs. Terrible, most of the classes I took there would not transfer to a good college because John Wood is too small and the other better colleges do NOT recognize it. Do NOT waste your time or money. This school is a joke. If you are a student that is paying for your own schooling…go somewhere else. They do not communicate with their students about payments, bills, etc. none of that! They are horrible communicators and really do not seem like they have the best interest of their students at mind. They are very disorganized. Most of the classes they make you take don’t even transfer over to most four years. If you are thinking about going to school there, don’t stay In the dorms if you can, they are a waste of money. Due to the some factors like, the WiFi is horrible and the beds suck. I’m trying to do my homework and the WiFi doesn’t work most of the time. Your advisers don’t check with you to see how you’re doing throughout your time there. I was never even told who my adviser was until the next semester to pick classes! During my time there I didn’t not feel welcomed as a student. If I could go back I would have not enrolled at that school. Many times I would call the main campus for questions about statements on my account and they never answered my questions. They just danced around them. They would send me to another department and I’d get sent to voicemail, I’d leave a message with no call back! I’ve gotten attitude from many of the staff there for no reason! As a new student whose never done this college path, you think they’d be more helpful. Some of my teachers never Got back to me about assignments. Honestly, I could just go on with now awful this school is.. if I could give them a 0/10 I would. If I could go back and not enroll at this school..I would. If I were you, I’d take my money elsewhere if you have a choice!! This school may be “cheap” compared to others but wouldn’t you rather pay a little more for a school that cares about you? I have received one assiociate degree from this school, and I am working on another. This school is great all around, but especially to our veterans. The student veteran organization is top notch. Along with many other benifits for regular students. Their PTK program is recognized nation wide, not a common thing for community colleges. There are many recourses on campus that help you succeed, ie. the math and writing center. Every teacher I have had has put enormous amount of effort into helping students succeed. The work load is not too bad, but challenging enough to get a good education. The cafeteria has good food all the time, I have not found anything that I did not like. The library has an excellent selection of books and resources. They even borrow books you need from other places if requested. The admissions office make enrolling very easy, they also have people there to help fill out a FASFA . During tax time they have people that help fill out students taxes for FREE. Since they have instituted 6 sessions Columbia College has proven they are not about the students. By making this move they force students to take student loans or lose part of their Pell grant due to not being enrolled full time. They try telling their students that 6 sessions per year will benefit them. Being a student that is currently enrolled and have been for a few years now I can tell you it is of no good to the student. Not only does it cost us more but instead of having any type of break between already accelerated courses we only have two days off. This is ultimately going to lead to more stressed out students and lower GPA's. There was a time I recommended this College to everyone I came across. Now sadly I make it very clear Columbia College is the worst college you could attend. It is a joke. Rolla's new policy if we don't offer something you need in seat take it online. Not mentioning that not only are online courses significantly more expensive but the work that is required for these is beyond reason. I am talking at minimum double the workload of an in seat class. The teachers are great, administration from the main campus down is terrible. This is no longer a student centered college no matter what their website portrays.Sean Dahlman

I'm currently enrolled at CC. This is the best college I've ever been to. The faculty is understanding and very helpful. They actually care about your education. My advisor was by far the best. She helped me through some very tough decisions and helped me to make the best financial decisions. I visited the enrollment center 3 times to change classes due to my own reasons and all three times they were understanding, helpful, and encouraging. I also went to the enrollment services about my financial status multiple times throughout the year and they were always there to help. They showed me my financial plan exactly including scholarships, loans, and grants. They explained everything to where I could understand and even printed me copies of my plan. BEST COLLEGE containing the VERY BEST PEOPLE! The other reviews that had one star and rude comments, it's because of their stupidity and closed mindedness. I had a terrible experience at this school. I would highly recommend not going to this college. They do not care about how you as the student does. All they care a bout is your money. You will NEVER hear back from any of your online teachers. I tried emailing a teaching with a question 3 times and not once did I hear back from the teacher. If for any reason you need to withdrawal they will not except it. Even if you withdraw a day or 2 after the deadline, they will make you pay every cent, even if you had good reason for the withdrawal. If you want to attend a college that cares about your needs and your success I would highly recommend choosing a different college because the only thing they care about at this college is getting your money. My daughter has been planning on going to Northeast for over a year now. We sent in our housing application, fee, and dorm request last year. She received a letter that she got the dorm she wanted! She elected to go to Northeast at this point because she was so happy! She met her 3 roommates for the 4 person dorm room! All is good… wait… nope guess not. We received a call today that they are overbooked on kids and jamming 2 more students into their 4 person dorm room. 6 people in 1 dorm. Where will 2 xtra beds go? How will 6 people use 4 tiny closets? How will 6 girls shower and get ready in 1 tiny bathroom every morning. I called to say—- ummmm- no…. and I was told “it is not our choice”. I’m sorry, we are paying over $10,000 for a dorm room and it’s not our choice? I have never been more disappointed and do not know what to do. Can we even get into another school this late in the year? Did Northeast do this because they know that we are stuck? Literally so upset. I recently completed a summer course at North East and was informed that they do not provide a forum for students to give feed back to professors on the course. I believe that it is note worthy for professors to be evaluated by the subject/students to see if they are performing up to expectation or not. The professor was unprepared in the syllabus as to what was necessary to purchase for books and materials. The syllabus stated 4 materials were needed and we never used two of the items listed. Followed MLA citation in book that was required but docked on grade because professor used different style in his notes (required book referenced Print vs Web). He didn't want this noted. How are we as students to learn from our mistakes if we don't get assignments graded and back before the next assignment due. All assignment built off the previous assignment! This was a good school overall. I went here from 2009 to 2011. It was a small school and they were just building their multicultural department so it was something to be desired but it was good education. If you came to class on time and did you're part of the work to be prepared you made it through. There was true traditional student to teach your advisement here for the students career path. I have had such a bipolar relationship with Indian Hills that I don't know where to even start. Good/Positive: Campus greenery is beautiful, Friendly and normally Understanding Teachers, "The Pit" as a social gathering place, Spent most of my time there,The Arts and Drama Department, Easy to Apply, Good Medical/Counseling. Bad/Negative: Living expenses are outrageous, especially for a small college that has not much for variety and choices. Food never changes and I barely ate there, so it was a waste of money for me. My dorm in Trustee was fine, nothing special but I was happy with the space. However I went through 3 different roommates prior to starting and after the first month my other was offered a better living space. The OneStop has often been portrayed as rude. Not only with my own experiences, but with other students as well. I am a friendly, nice, but cautious student. I am going to have QUESTIONS. I do not appreciate being talked down to. I am a first generation traditional student in my family, so a lot of the information isn't common knowledge for me. I understand a bad and busy day, but this happened on several occasions for several different type of questions/concerns. Now, Dropped Classes. I was a very ambitious student, so I got my AA done in one year. However, a class that was needed was apparently dropped. I was not notified about it until I asked the OneStop. They said I should have received an email, which I didn't. This class was suppose to be a simple science class since I am nothing close to a scientist, but I needed the credit. With one day prior to beginning of term, I had to shuffle through what was remaining since I was never notified in time. I was left with a horribly difficult class, ONLINE. Passed with a C, but hated every moment of it. There were other class situations I had with them, but this was the biggest deal to me.Luckily for me, I was involved with the arts department and had some very good teachers. I am not knocking the academics, just the people who are suppose to help and guide you to them. I have been disappointed several times and for following friends thinking about going to hills I warn them of all of this. I often say, "Stay at home or off campus if possible, save yourself the money. Worry about your classes and good luck asking for help. The teachers will be there for you, but I don't know about the rest of the institution."This college is probably excellent for students in the technology center and nursing, however for a future transfer student or gen eds, there is no guarantee that this college is for you.Caitlyn Millard

The presence of a college in a community is always a good one, with the purpose of educating and building the community. The newly elected president at Indian Hills is a good leader with good intentions. The leadership team however, is corrupt. As a result, staff members are subjected to mistreatment and unfair behavior and practices. Promotions are given based on personal preference, how well you are liked by those with the ability to make changes, and who you know. Team effort and support is also lacking when assigned duties need to be accomplished, which requires contribution from other staff members across campus. This is not reflective of all staff members however, as there are a few that do more than their fair share and are willing to work. The resouces and education available to students are comparable to other colleges in the area. After talking to community members, I have learned that the reputation of the college is not the best. Good leadership sets the foundation for a good business. Since this is lacking at Indian Hills, the college will not be able to maintain a positive image in and around the community, until and unless changes are made within the leadership team.Cherece Henry

This place is horrible. The dorms have cockroaches, a really bad infestation of cockroaches!! They have outdated elevators that should have been replaced years ago, they are just now replacing one of them. They would get stuck, open with no elevator in which someone could have been severely injured, one even caught on fire. Then now two of which I have seen of the washing machines are broken so some of us cannot do our laundry. The bathrooms are rather filthy. The parking lots need repairs badly. I have been treated poorly by numerous people including a professor who forced me and a friend to drop out of her class. That professor also called my friend a distraction because he is bisexual. The food in the cafeteria isn't the best. I honestly find this place a waste of time and money. It's not even worthy of being called a college.Ady Webb

My experience at NCTA is an extremely large reason behind my career and social success. The social networking that NCTA's small but friendly campus offers is one of a kind. The approachability to professors and faculty is exceptional for a busy, growing, college of it's size. The faculty and staff at NCTA are advanced in their teaching techniques and approaches all while maintaining the caring and family like culture that is trademark of rural Nebraska. The transition was easy coming from high school and my experience at NCTA aided in my transition to a four year university, with all credits transferring. NCTA offers a large variety of agricultural majors and opportunities for those who are willing to work towards improving themselves and the agriculture industry. I know I made the right choice by coming to NCTA for the first half of my college experience. The hands on learning and smaller class sizes were something I looked for in choosing colleges and I found NCTA offers both of those things and so much more. I am in the MPA program. While the program is very hard, but yet rewarding, overall, UNO could use some restructuring of their programs and the professors who teach them. There should not be that much variance/ disunity in a professor’s mode of instruction/ lectures and expectations compared to the students homework/ assignments. I know that I am not the only student who felt/ feels this way about some of the professors teaching styles. Some students have already reached out voicing their concerns some students have not because they just want to finish their programs and be done. I feel like students were misled about who would be supervising their projects for spring 2019. Students have been told different things and it keeps changing to fit everyone else/ program needs and not the needs of students. As students, we are students of UNO but we are also customers/stakeholders too. I think UNO sometimes loses sight of that. Like other reviews have indicated the UNO staff/ professors some of them are unresponsive and they do not return emails or phone calls from students asking for help. So don't count on traditional student advisement because they do not do this here. You will navigate your program of study on your own. Hopefully you know which classes are offered and when they are offered or you will be a year behind your graduation schedule as certain class are not offered year round and no one informs you of this until it is too late.S J

Very unprofessional and unresponsive staff, if you want to transfer with an associates, be ready start over at UNO as a freshman. UNO is a business, they're mainly in the parking and book market taking advantage of students, books are twice the price on campus compared to other bookstores elsewhere including online, they advertise cheap credits but when you register, you're bombarded with fees that don't even make any sense, the total fees could amount to more than what you pay for tuition! Not to mention, if you want to meet with an advisor, even for a simple question, you have to make sure that you make an appointment a month in advance, that's how it goes there, they don't respond to emails, to them you're just another student and you don't really feel appreciated, I ended up leaving UNO despite coming with an associate's that was just earned with a GPA of 3.9/4.0, I was told I'd have to start as a freshman! I'll be fair however, the one professor that I took her class there was a wonderful professor she really cared about her students. Nonetheless, I ended up transferring to another university that took all my credits and recognized my hard work and I only have to do 2 years or less there! Since UNO loves profits, I guess in short I can say that I took my business elsewhere!Y. M.

UNO COMMITS LEASE OR RENTAL FRAUD. BE AWARE. Cancelling your housing contract early will lead them to immediately charge you half of ALL OF THE RENT YOU HAVE LEFT, which will likely amount to over $1,000. If you don't pay this all in one bulk amount on ONE DAY, they will begin to charge you late fees. If you get a replacement for your room, THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU, despite saying in the contract that a replacement releases you from what you owe (AKA, they should refund you, but THEY DON'T EVEN TELL YOU). When you call them, they will ask how you 'found out' and then direct you to a different number. Besides, living at UNO is not worth the rent anyway – dorms are messy, noisy, and I knew several people who reported black mold in their dorms and it was ignored by the university. Their classes are often huge lectures with old and upset professors who don't help you to actually learn at all. Majors are limited to mostly business or IT-related occupations with little room to move. Degrees take a long time because they require multiple prerequisites for one single class. UNO LITERALLY ONLY CARES ABOUT MONEY, NOT YOU AS A STUDENT. PICK SOMEWHERE BETTER. There are MANY, MANY BETTER CHOICES.Rachael

I ended up backing out of the enrollment process. After sending my transcripts and FAFSA info. I asked what would be the cost for the classes. I could not get a straight answer from anyone. " We won't know until you are accepted … and enrollenrolled. And to be accepted you must complete the student loan applications process." I made it clear from Day 1 I was not taking out student loans. And wanted to pay out of pocket…. So they could have saved me a bunch of time by saying we won't accept you without loans. And I would have walked away. Even on my final email I sent to them say I was no longer interested because I found a local University that was cheaper and way more helpful the reply I got back was…. This school lacks communication so bad I do not recommend this School to anybody if you would further have questions later on down the road you’re better off joining another school. It’s all nothing but stress since I began the school. And they don’t make situations any easier. Also the professors are mean as hell! They don’t teach you anything. They write out what you’re supposed to do every week and grade and give feedback. That’s it! You have to literally teach yourself with research articles and your text book. And when you do receive feedback from them on an assignment, and you had some errors, instead of teaching us our wrong doings they decide to give you zeros and be rude when leaving feedback. Bellevue University is an outstanding educational experience with top notch staff and professors. I graduated in 2005 and the education I received at Bellevue impacted my career in a positive manner. I have since returned to work on my Masters. The curriculum is up-to-date and reflective of the real world. Rewards in life come with hard work and dedication. I read the comments made and was surprised by the negative ones. However, I served my country for 30 years to protect the rights of folks to practice free speech. This review is for the phlebotomy course at NMC, NMC's teaching, and my clinical experience. The course is broken up into 2 weeks in the classroom and 3 weeks in clinical rotation. I rate the classroom teaching as exemplary. Professor Di Lorenzo is passionate about what she teaches and very knowledgeable about phlebotomy and lab work, as she is an industry veteran. One would think that as a NMC student, being sent to Methodist Hospital for clinical rotation would be a good match, as the hospital and school are linked (students are sent to non-Methodist sites as well). There was no organized training program or trainer, thus no consistency. We were assigned daily to phlebotomists that were working the floor on that day. Overall I trained with at least 8-10 people. There were only 2 people I worked with where I sensed he/she trusted me, had patience, and was willing to demonstrate skills and answer questions, and treat me with general respect. Otherwise, I dealt with poor attitude, at times being abandoned by the trainer (where did they go?), and a general lack of interest in training and responsibilities that go along with it. The person promoted to the training coordinator position towards the end of our clinical rotation is a good phlebotomist. However unfortunately I wouldn't be surprised if this person's severe demeanor puts potential new employees off. During the time I spend with this person, I sensed I was being brow-beaten. I didn't feel welcome at Methodist Hospital as a student, and sensed the students were a burden to be dealt with. As a non-employee, one could also sense the malcontent between employees and management. Said management seemed to take very little interest in our training (i.e. asking how training was going, what our overall goals are, asking how did we did in classroom training, etc.). NMC is a great and reputable college and has a great teaching staff. The clinical portion, which is a large portion of the course, was a disappointment.Omaha Phlebstudent

Thrive is great at using modern tech to manage the client relationship. They are less adept at human, face to face interaction. Unfortunately I was 8 min late for a pre-op consultation appointment for my puppy. The receptionist said I would have to reschedule as the 8 minutes represented half of the total appointment time. What? The vet was only going to meet with me for 10 min – allowing 5 for bloodwork by a tech? When pressed, it turns out that they were short-staffed on that particular day. This could have been handled much better. I prefer vets who care as much about client relationships and loyalty as they do in managing their bottom line. Their use of technology seems to support volume over quality. Perhaps this is a problem with one location only. I was referred to Thrive by 2 people who rave about the services. But they use the 72nd and Dodge location. Affordable vet services – nominally true – but I'd rather pay slightly more to get better "people" service.Jeanne Leeds

Find yourself somewhere else. I requested a quote via email, and was told to call the office for a quote. Called the office and was told I’d have to come in for a consult and then they would quote me (mind you this is for a sedated ear plucking, nothing crazy). A vet place that won’t disclose basic pricing for things like ear plucking and sedation services has to be sketchy. This place was FRAWESOME!!!! Took my dog, Bane, there today and they were so very kind. Its been terribly difficult to find a decent vet place in Omaha that doesn't hate in Bane fir being a pit bull. He's the sweetest. Anyway they addressed my concerns and made everything easy to understand. They understood where I stood financially at the moment and wasn't too pushy about anything. I had the best experience ever when it came to patient care. Starting out, the building is very clean and professional-looking. The front desk staff were very accomodating and helpful as I was a brand new patient at their practice. They got me in last minute since I was leaving town the next day. This office is very efficient and smooth when it comes to paperwork, and setting up your patient portal. I was first seen by the PA Lygia, who was very friendly and knowledgable. They took an xray on site and had results within minutes (with medical assistant Kate). Dr. Hurlbut was very attentive, thorough, and descriptive when he examined and diagnosed my shoulder injury. Unfortunately my diagnosis calls for surgery, but Dr. Hurlbut and his staff discussed with me multiple options that would work for me. I highly recommend coming here for any orthopaedic issues.Asa Cable

I was very specific with what I needed and I was told it was a procedure they did. I waited 8 weeks for the appointment. Brought all medical records because they didn't want them early even though they were over 500 pages. I told her I had years of pt, 51 surgeries and multiple braces and compression garments. I've had the procedure before 10 years ago and it helped immensely. She told me I walked to the left even though I just had left hip replacement and told me to wear a 5000 dollar brace and see what happens…5000 dollars is a lot to see whatvhappens??? Plus I drove an hour and a half one way there waited all that time and it was a waste of time. They lied to get me in there…so annoyed. Not professional at all. I broke my wrist (both bones) and had to have surgery. Dr. Machado and his staff were absolutely amazing. I cold called him based on a referral from a friend after the surgeon affiliated with my local hospital didn't get my surgery scheduled in a timely manner. Dr. Machado got me in right away and scheduled my surgery less than 48 hours after my first consult. He squeezed me into his already full calendar to make sure I was taken care of promptly. I did PT at his office for several months as well – great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Machado and his staff. Friendly. Knowledgeable. Good bedside manner. In checking around for an ophthalmology clinic to address my bilateral cataracts and lens replacement, Kugler vision was frequently recommended. I had researched four different providers and determined Kugler vision was at the top of my list. The intake and evaluation were handled very professionally and efficiently. Privacy and timeliness are important to them. I was not pushed to make a decision at that time. And in the week post evaluation, they had a counselor that took my calls and answered my questions. Kugler vision has a very comfortable setting, prioritizing privacy. Staff is caring and knowledgeable in the information they shared. There was also the added benefit of having both eyes corrected on the same visit/day. Good, personal atmosphere at each stage. I’ve been coming to Vision Specialists for a couple years, and Dr. Kate is the most thorough eye doctor I’ve ever been to! She checks aspects of my eye health that previous doctors hadn’t checked or spoken about. She takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, and I feel like I understand my eye health so much better. The staff is also wonderful and very professional. I recently had an emergency and the whole office was so accommodating about making sure I was taken care of. The office also has a great selection of glasses, and they are helpful without being pushy. My experience here has been wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone!Falon Pulfer

I'm putting a 5 star on this one even before getting my glasses delivered, because this experience was way beyond expectations. I've never gone through all of these steps before and they made it really smooth. I especially appreciated the patience, and understanding Jared had with me. I'm sure the process took way longer than usual to find frames, but I wasn't made to feel rushed and they really were able to help me figure out what it was I wanted. I never do reviews for good experience, because as a customer, I feel it should be expected. But when there is above and beyond service, I can't help but share it with other people.Holli Waters

I will start by saying that the nurses at this office are wonderful. They are so sweet and personable. However, Dr. Schlessinger and Jackie Hall (MPAS-C) have less than desirable bedside manner. I feel as if neither one if then listened to a word I said and they just prescribed a blanket "treatment" that everyone gets when they come in with adult acne. It wasn't individualized at all. Needless, to say it didn't work and has made my condition worse than it was when I started seeing them three months ago.Kendra Shafer

I wasn’t sure what to think about Rasmussen because I’ve heard mixed reviews from my coworkers. I was pleasantly surprised to find out this is the college to go to school if you’re a parent wanting to be a nurse. I am married and have three kids under 8 years old and I work in the hospital full time, and I’m succeeding. From my fellow coworkers, I KNOW this is the fastest program to get your nursing degree. I love my professors. I absolutely love the diversity of my professors and fellow students. I know that some have complained about the professors intelligence level. My professors are all very educated. Sometimes if English isn’t the first language, anybody would speak a little slower. This gives you an education you wouldn’t get anywhere else because you’re learning from people who are different than you but usually more intelligent as they had to work harder to get their degree because English was not their first language! Or at least equally as intelligent. People also on occasion complain about the price. I have done the math and at the speed I’m completing my degree, I will have saved more because I’ll have the degree at least a year prior to my fellow coworkers going to more affordable schools I also had Sara Packard as my advisor and she was phenomenal. She almost always replied back to my emails within an hour, and I asked A LOT of questions. Without Sara, I would have never been able to start up as quickly as possible without her quick start worksheet list of things I needed to complete. Thank you so much Rasmussen!Amber Broring

This is my second week at Rasmussen. It is challenging, but no school is easy. So far, the best thing I have encountered at this school is the support that the school incorporates together to help the students. My admission went well because I got a lot of help from my admission advisor, Brittany. She kept me alert and on track throughout the entire process. I strongly agree to listen to her advice if you plan to get your admission process completed on time. Another thing I'm pleased to have is Personal Support Center. Just like Brittany and the admission process, I got all my technical issues solved through Personal Support. Both of these two parties are well-hired for the job. You will like the support team here if you go to this school. Supports and admission definitely earn 5 stars.k yang

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. If I could give this school zero stars I would. The nursing administration and program is a joke. All they care about is swindling you out of money. They intentionally kept me from being able to retake an exam so I would have to retake a course again. Visit the BBB website and read for your self, the aren’t accredited by the BBB and they literally have a 1.19 rating out of 5 and after reading the filed complaints from other previous students it’s easy to see why. There are multiple classes that 40% of your grade is dependent on ATI exams, not the course content, so you can literally pass the class portion but still fail the course due to ATI. It’s a joke.Jaime H

The best part about this college: everybody is friendly. The teachers here care and want to get to know you and have no problem helping students whenever they are able, and if they're not then there are tutors available at no cost. All of the classes that I took were informative enough with the exception of a select couple classes. The bookstore is convenient and for the most part the prices are fair.Jacoby Smith

If I could give less than 1 star I would in this situation. My dog had an emergent situation in which he had something stuck in his stomach, causing him not to be able to eat or drink. Nothing would stay down, he would vomit every time. Took him to the emergency vet and was told to have my regular vet repeat the x-ray and perform either surgery or an endoscopy to remove whatever was causing the blockage. The emergency vet sent all the records first thing in the morning to Banfield and I made a phone call right at 8 am to them. I was told that the doctor would call me back to discuss next steps. I never heard back from them, not even the next day. Thankfully, I took it upon myself to find another facility that could care for my dog, who themselves could not believe that Banfield had allowed this to go on without as much as a phone call, given the urgency of it. I understand that Banfield is busy and short staffed, but this is unacceptable. Not only did they completely disregard the urgency of the situation, but then when I finally got ahold of someone they did not even as much as try to apologize, it was as if she could care less. I should have known by how they treated me and my dog since the beginning. Making an appointment was impossible, getting answers, impossible, speaking with the doctor, impossible and the amount of fear my dog had every time I brought him there was a testament to how little empathy and kindness they showed. I am disappointed to say the least and will be sure to deter anyone who even considers taking their pet to them.Jane Gibbs

I have been taking my dogs to Banfield for years. They are very professional and nice to deal with. It seems they have gotten more busy over the last year or so. You used to be able to schedule an appointment for the same week you called. Perhaps the pandemic has something to do with scheduling. You can tell they love animals. They picked the right people to run the clinic. If you don't have "pet insurance" prices are high. The insurance (which you can get online or at the store) makes the prices tolerable. I would say even with insurance there are some items or procedures you can probably get cheaper elsewhere. For me, factoring in their location, I am ok with cost. 5 stars because of staff. I would go 4 stars if my rating was based on pricing.Thomas Meola

I took my elderly dog to see Dr. Stephanie Jones for a lameness evaluation. Dr. Jones was thorough and went over all the treatment options for my old man, including acupuncture, which Dr. Steph Jones can do right at Banfield. Kudos to LVT Carrie who took good care of my guy too! My 3-yr-old loved our dog's "band aid" that had a heart drawn on it. Great service and medical care!Eliza Smith

I arrived with a pain level of 9. They thought I might be having a heart attack as I was breathing so hard with pain. They immediately wheel-chaired me to a bed where they started to help me get control of the pain that was raging through my back and right thigh. I came in for a scheduled steroid epidural that day. The nurses were very caring and genuinely concerned about me. I meet with Dr. Piperis soon after arriving and getting my pain under control. He went over everything with me, gave me a very thorough examination and explained options and procedures that were to follow. He made me feel very at ease, and I trusted him fully with my health concerns. This experience was A-top rated. I would fully recommend Advanced Surgery Center to anyone that needs its help. Dr. Piperis and his staff were first class care takers, and I would not hesitate to call upon them in the future if I need to.Michael “Gooch” Gurciullo

I had my first ever surgery here in July of this year, and despite this year's changes with everything due to Covid-19, my experience was nothing short of fantastic! From the front desk to the nursing staff, and even the anesthesiologist, I was put at ease and was absolutely grateful for the positive experience and care. If you like a small class room size, this is the place for you. It's relatively new and encourages a diverse environment. The classrooms are like see through with happy colors and it has apartments nearby to rent that can be tied to your financial aid, also an amc theater closeby. Please like if this helped.
