She was at the point where it told her she had to pay the $30 application fee to continue. So she did but never did anything after that. Then she decided she wants to go to a different School instead. I've been calling the admission office shortly after that. I've left messages on what this is regarding n NO calls back until Nov 25th from April in admission. I still have the VM. I've called back n again left a message. To this day (March 25), I still haven't heard back n I've been calling!! I finally called the school itself not admission n the lady said. I'm sorry since she started the admission you don't get your money back!! What a waist of my time n I don't feel this is right. If a child NEVER finished the application!!! I will start with the good. The instructors are amazing. Most of them that I have had are very intelligent and filled with the necessary knowledge to teach you. Now the bad. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE COUNSELORS!!!! Figure out what classes you need to take on your own. I spent 3.5 years there with a combination of full and part time and have no degree and no requirements for any programs that I told them I was most interested in. When I was a vulnerable 17 year old first generation college student there completely on my own they told me I needed to take reading for Nursing. For one, looking back, I placed out of reading. For two, I have yet to come across a nursing program that requires reading. It seems that they always gave me the run around and had me taking all of the classes that I did not need, and none of the classes that I did need. If you can figure out what classes you need to take on your own, then The school if great, and the education that you receive is great. If you have nobody to help you or guide you in your life and are solely dependent on the counselors advise, find an alternative.Amber Parson

I didn’t know I Loved ECC, until I moved and I was out of district so I had to go to MCC. I Hate MCC everything and everyone is shut off by 4pm and there’s no almost no teachers willing to teach past 4 (There are but only some). This is impossible to manage. I’m getting a job near ECC so I can go back. I MISS YOU. Not only does ecc have a ton a teachers, but they offer a variety of times for classes especially in the afternoon. There teachers are wonderful and dedicated (not all of course but most) and there facility offers so many different activities and clubs you can go crazy in there. Terrible business. They sold me books that I didnt need for classes. They wouldn't refund me nor buy the books back. MThey sold me a used loose leaf History book and my HIS 109 book was missing pages. when I talked to the lady just now, she wouldn't do anything about it, handed me one of my other books and said they have enough of them right now. She had a terrible attitude when all I showed was respect. I paid over $480 to this bookstore, all I got was disrespect and inconvenience. I started my online program two years ago at Alex Tech in Paralegal and Legal Administration. I was leery at first of the quality of education an online degree could provide. Alex Tech sets up their legal program so that you graduate with two associate's degrees, Paralegal and Legal Administration, in the two year time frame. The professors for both the legal program and the elective classes are quick to reply to questions. The online program provides flexibility that allowed me to work full time while going to school. I don't think it matters what your situation is, I would highly recommend the program to anyone.Rachel Barr

The teachers we toured with truely had our daughters education in mind and when they spoke with her they were truely interested about her career focus and really took the time to point out the great programs that would help her achieve her goals. The building is not very inviting because it is so big, but once you get in and figure out what's where it becomes less intimidating. I graduated here with my associate's degree in Leadership. 60 of my credits transferred from NWTC to Concordia University of Wisconsin. I preferred the video conference classes. Excellent place to take a test! I took a certification exam through Pearson Vue at NWTC. The test center employees explained everything thoroughly and the center itself was quiet enough to take my exam. The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

I'm a recent graduate of the LPN program and currently an RN student. The nursing program for me has not been an easy one, I have run into a lot of personal challenges inside of my own life with family and other issues. One thing I know for sure, is that the staff at lake area want you to succeed and are always there to help when you need it. I don't always agree with their methods however they are always willing to listen and try to make their program better through any suggestions. The instructors of the nursing programs have a lot to deal with, students including myself are very emotional and the instructors do their best to help us power through. Lake Area technical college also has counseling available for free to any student and it is exceptional. The college wants you to succeed, they are always there to help ,you just have to ask for help. I am forever changed for the better because of the kindness generosity and patience of the instructors as well as other staff at lake area. I can't compare it to any other college, because I have not had an experience anywhere else but if you are looking for a place that you can have a good support system with people who love their job, strive to always do better, and sincerely care about you then this is the place for you.Desirae Snyder

Incompetent….called to verify my daughter's tuition amount the gal told me two different amounts. Then when I went in to pay I asked them to verify all classes and credits were accounted for and she confirmed they were. I was then given a different amount then what I was given on the phone.A month later I am told I owe them more money , when I asked why they told me credits were added after my payment was made that day. The staff obviously can't read a computer screen when asked. When I confronted them on it, I got a run around , they wouldn't take responsibility for the error. They were told that they would not get a dime if my child attends next fall until a print out of everything is given to me and all classes and credits are accounted for so prevent this from happening again. I would recommend HCC to anyone who seeks a regular education but if your untrusted in the nursing school through this school stay away! If you are a self learning person who can Consume large amounts of information quickly then you will do fine in this nursing school! If you are not they will chew you up and spit you out and not even care, they will take your money and pays you out of the nursing program without so much as a single moment of help. The director of nursing will call you names and insult you and threaten you and the principal of the school when it was brought to her attention about the behavior of the director of nursing and the problems within the nursing department, and the bulling from the Nursing staff towards the students was insulting! The principal will laugh in your face and not even try to help you, but The principal, will take your suggestions on how to improve the nursing program for future students but as for you a current struggling student you will get absolutely no help even if you go to the staff every single week you will get absolutely no help and they will watch you fail out of nursing school and take your money. The only reason I am giving this school a 3 star rating is because of the teachers. Don't get me wrong every school has its problems but the majority of the teachers there are amazing. The problem with this school is anything and everything that has to do with the admissions building. It is full of nothing but student workers that don't know how to do their job. Trying to get an actual adult on the phone that actually works there for a living and not minimum wage is like pulling teeth. You will not get anything done by the deadlines they have because you will not be able to get any help from anyone. I have been communicating with Ms. Deloria Scott for the past few months over the phone. I am in the midst of the overwhelming process of moving cross-country and enrolling in a new school. If i could legit give ZERO STARS, I would. This is NOT… I repeat NOT a good school. If you are design/business major the staff do NOT work with you and the accommodations are a joke. You have to re-do them all again next semester. Secondly… the RA's #do not do their job. We had a huge issue in our dorm building and restrictions had been in place for the people who were causing the issues not to come back into the building. The RA's allowed them back into the building, saying they were… "Safe" to be in the building. The building muse is even WORSE. the staff there don't take care of all the fights and drug use that happens there. Two of my friends were sexually assaulted in that building and left Radford because of it. I can't speak for other dormatories, but Muse and Trinkle are NO GO'S. People are very rude and try to start drama with you and also… if you do come to this school, please PLEASE lock your bedroom doors…. people like to steal! Also the graduate teachers are the WORST. I've had a few, all if whom didn't like their students. They're mucj younger teachers, fyi. I only have one grad student professor who is a decent human being. Also people here are really racist. There's so much racism and fights here, it's insane. It's better to pick another school if possible, Especially when it comes to safety. The staff do NOT care about your safetyM B

Radford University is a great place to go to college for someone that is looking for a great education, great facilities, an exciting campus life, and a friendly and united community. As an international student I've had a great experience in my two years that I've been studying at Radford. The faculty is great, well knowledgeable in their subjects, and are always willing to help you, the student life on and off campus is fun, the smaller class sizes enable you to learn better and enable you to get to know your professors, the campus is beautiful, the facilities are mostly modern and well equipped. The university is constantly investing and working in improving the quality of education, the competitiveness of the school, and resources that we have, and it is clearly getting better every time. This school is truly a fraud! They are claiming to support the military and Join the Yellow Ribbon Program to get the recognition but the actual support is not even pennies against this multi-million dollar school. This program was built to assist in financially supporting Military and Family Members to attend schools out-of-state and abroad at a rate comparable, if not equal, to in-state students and help overcome the hardships of military families constantly moving in support of our nations freedom. It is a joke they are calling themselves Yellow Ribbon Program members; offering a measly $1000 against a $25,000 annual out-of-state tuition difference. Then to offer it to only 2 undergraduates and 2 graduates in a school of over 10,000!!….Really? I can get a better military discount at Waffle House! I visited Northcentral Technical college for my son who is a senior in Elkhorn high school who made it to the semi-finals for WI Esports for the game Smite and they hosted the competition for the semi-finals and finals for numerous games from high schools all over WI and I had a great time and the campus was awesome and really nice, the set up was awesome and everyone was so welcoming, I'd go back anytime!!!Elizabeth Orwig

No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Plus If you miss 1 point on your exam you lose the whole course and have to do it again because they don't give you another chance to take another test even for one point and expected to pay all again.so you waste your time,your money..and all over it the instructor says that if English is not your first language you are in the wrong place and makes comments all the time about people's accents. Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. (For reference, I am a first-generation college student, have a learning disability, and a physical disability.) TMCC sets students up for success. I have had a very positive experience both as a student and working for the school. I will be finishing a dual-degree sooner than expected. Most of the professors are great, and everyone in the humanities department is amazing. Most of the staff is very professional and able to well-inform students of what classes to take and what services may benefit them. On top of this, the school also offers free tutoring and mental health services. As a first-generation college student, I feel TMCC has helped me at every step of the way to succeed. With only 8 classes left to take, I still have a cumulative GPA of 4.0 despite doing relatively poorly in high school. As long as you put in your best effort, teachers will do everything possible to help you succeed. If you do not put any effort in and expect a handout, then it will be extremely difficult to succeed. This is a tremendous school with a caring and compassionate staff and faculty. This school has afforded me so many opportunities that I wouldn't have otherwise received without them. When I got to Reno, I was homeless. I arrived with two suitcases and less than $100 in the bank. I was staying with a friend and making very little money. I found myself in a situation where I worked hard labor job after hard labor job, trapped in a vicious cycle of injury and poverty and no clear view of how to exit my situation. In the month of December 2014, I walked into the offices at TMCC. In less than a year, I have found employment, I'm less than a year from finishing my degree and I am a Dean's list student. I had it in my head that I wanted to succeed and I was fortunate that this school wanted to help me to do exactly that. The teachers were compassionate and patient. I attended here on and off from 1999-2012. I learned how to teach step aerobics from the greatest fitness instructor imo Verna Lewis. I took many general ed classes as well as a few paralegal courses and a ton of fitness classes as well. The campus is beautiful, many bathrooms with free sanitary napkins if needed, the vending machines are reasonably priced. The classes are very fair priced. I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. The administration does not care about you. They do not care if you are a student or an employee, they do not care about you. They do not care about your kids, they do not care about the job you have to work on the weekend to make ends meet. The top administration will continue to rake in money for themselves and make sure they’re providing both employees and students with as little as they possibly can. All you are is either potential money or potential labor. You are a commodity to be used to the benefit of people you don’t even know. The entire art department is a joke. Calhoun has crippled its own photography program by getting rid of the best studio photography teacher it has probably ever had just because he didn't have a degree yet he's been a professional working photographer for about 30 years. Calhoun has a bad history of hiring people to teach that don't do their job. The dean and the underlings don't care if you have a problem if it affects their staff. Calhoun is famous for minimizing the parking spaces despite the rising number of students attending each year. The financial aid department is worthless too. I'm transferring to Wallace State instead of going back to Calhoun to earn my degree.BringPopcorn

What I love about Calhoun is that they want to make sure you know how to do. Hands down Calhoun is one of the be places to study IT in the state. The classes are small enough that you are able to get hands on training and your taught by instructors who work in the field. Not someone who is good at taking test and decided to teach. The only complaint I have is that Calhoun should try to improve the student experience more. It's hard to accomplish considering most students are only there 1-2 years but there should be more university sponsored events live movie nights, dances, etc.Christoper J

The campus was so clean and so organized that I think I will sign my wife up so she can start classes in the fall. I have had an amazing experience with Herzing University! I am excelling in my degree choice and I couldn't be more satisfied with my learning experience and the flexibility that the online program gives me.The instructors are all willing to help whenever I have a question, and if they see many students struggling with something, they will post an announcement with some helpful tips on how to proceed through our courses. The learning material is easy to understand, the discussion boards really help me connect with my classmates more than I normally would, the library is full of everything you might need for your studies, and the Coach rooms and Tutoring center are very helpful! I have seen many posts off and on about how students struggled in this school. I have to say the most common thing I see students struggling from in these courses is not doing the assigned work on time, not participating in the discussions, and not following the assigned directions on assignments. We have to take responsibility and do our work (on time!) or we will not succeed, and we should not blame someone else for our lack of trying. Just with everything else in life, if you do not put any effort into something, you will not gain anything from it. I stared with Herzing back in 2013 for my undergrad BSN RN. At that time, school was still establishing itself, therefore, I had some rough time getting through the program, but overall my experience was good. This year I came back for my MSN FNP and let me tell you ))) My experience with Herzing in 2019 is absolutely amazing. This school grew so much! Lots of support, any time you need it, everyone is very attentive and friendly. You still have to do a lots of studying, but isn't what we came here for? I'm beyond satisfied, thank you Herzing faculty and staff, you're the best!KateM M

This University is so awesome. I am in my 3rd semester and am grateful for the progress I am making. I even made the Dean's list! The instructors are active, involved, and try helping you succeed every way they can. I am super excited about where this will take me in my near future. Waste of time and money. Only 1 microbiology teacher this semester… same one I had last semester that couldn’t speak English and sent us to the dean if we had ANY sort of question. I tried to get a different one this semester but there was only one that they were offering. I reached out for help multiple times and never got any help other than “try finding new ways to study” could never have zoom meetings to discuss a problem. My councilor was absolutely no help, wasted 2 years trying to get things done and she always said I “had” to do this and this first when I have my pre reqs plus MANY more classes completed and even retook micro to get a better grade, with a teacher that can’t speak English and refused to help his own students. He always talked about covid and we never learned anything that was on the actual tests. Total waste of time and money, skip jw and go to a university.Mckenzie Vallee

Great place to continue your education. Affordable and efficient. A smaller college like John Wood can work to your advantage. It did for me. There was no overcrowded rooms and parking lots. It has a peaceful location with a clean atmosphere to function correctly. Teachers have more time to work with their students to help them with individual needs. Terrible, most of the classes I took there would not transfer to a good college because John Wood is too small and the other better colleges do NOT recognize it. Do NOT waste your time or money. Went to Trilogy beauty salon for a haircut and hair color appointment. Student did a really nice job on both. All the students were dressed professionally They were wearing nice looking smocks unlike some other beauty schools were they wore whatever they wished Trilogy salon uses very high quality products which is appreciated Students do take more time completing a hair cut or hair color Instructors are there if they have any questions and everything they do is looked at by the teacher Students gain valuable experience there Highly recommendedKathy Salm

Affordable for gen eds but for a technical college they have some of the worse tech issues I have every seen my I have seen middle schools with better technical support. Do not take there advice on what laptop to buy since I was told to buy a Microsoft brand laptop but I needed to add every chrome extension needed to even access half the course material. I had to ask my instructors to use my personal email only since I could send emails through my school one but could not read any of the instructors emails.Gunfire Productions

Let's just say I'm no spring chicken. I got my Industrial electrical apprenticeship at the age of 46 and at the age of 50 I graduated. It was not an easy thing for me. But the program was excellent and they gave me alot of skills I use everyday at my job. Some days I think I should have tried fitting the instrumentation specialist into my schedule some how but with work hours it wouldn't have work. Id say they have everything you need to succeed at FVTC, because if I can do it at my age anybody can there!Heath Mischke
