This college is my top choice because it is affordable, not overcrowded, has a super clean and safe building, and has no historically known hate crime in the area, which is an A+ in today's environment. It's a good starting school but extremely disorganized with idiots for employees. Dr Apple or apfel is a complete and total moron. She is so ungodly useless. She is extremely disorganized no wonder all of the students hate her. She wouldn't shake our hands because she said that's how germs are spread. Get rid of this delusional troll! No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! This is a really good school if you’re all about your academics. I’ve had my good times and my bad times here at MCC. Overall on the academic side of MCC I appreciate all of the hard work that most of my professors have done. There are professors here that definitely need to be more qualified with what they are teaching as it has affected my grades when I’ve taken their courses. I am an Honor student here at MCC with a GPA of 3.30 and have never once had an issue with organization skills until my 2019 spring semester. A couple of the professors have been unorganized, no syllabus and sometimes they have other priorities when they have to teach a class in other words they put another professor in place when they have to go to another job. Although these were a couple of issues within my time here at MCC I enjoyed the experience of learning new knowledge for my future career. I really liked a lot of my professors but a couple of them have been a little rough. If you communicate with your professors about your issues that you’re having it really helps and shows that you’re determined to do your work and it shows you care about your work as well. Environment wise I’d have to say it’s not healthy (mentally/physically) and or good for many people. There have been students who have left garbage all over the place and don’t clean up after themselves which leads to maintenance having to clean it all up. With my time here I have helped maintenance clean up other people’s messes so they don’t have to worry about it as much. Also the amount of vaping, drug use, and underage drinking in the lounge is unacceptable and nothing has been done to take care of this issue except shutting the lounge down. I feel as if this does nothing but illustrates that they can go elsewhere within the college and do these things. An authority figure should really take this into consideration and do something about this because it affects others who have nothing to do with these people and it ruins people’s Health. You can smell weed from a mile away and if people have asthma or a health condition this could affect them physically. I do not appreciate this at all and I wish something was done about it. The other big issue environmentally is the fact that the main cafeteria can get very loud and some students have no manners and do not respect others around them. If they are asked to quiet down they do the opposite It has gotten to the point where a lot of people have complained and yet nothing is done to prevent this from happening again. The college needs to have some control over what students do and take action on these issues. I wish that there could be some changes here and I hope for the best for everyone at MCC. Overall it is a good school for your academics but is definitely not a mentally healthy place environmentally. Even if you try to get away and go somewhere else for privacy somehow drama follows behind you. A Tip would be after your classes go home if you can or go to the back of the library in the quiet study room. So I will start with sharing my positive highlights of the fall semester during covid. Some teachers were empathetic to the situation the entire nation went through. Prof. Muldoon did such an amazing job touching base and gaining clarity of students frustration and technical difficulties during this time. Prof Diane. Hillyer OMG if I were ever to be a college professor I’d want to have her passion and dedication. She’s a math angel, truly loves her job and her videos were perfect! Now chemistry online and labs online were a joke!!! The professor did not make enough office hours, used YouTube videos from other teachers, used repetitive templates for each week lesson with no data. If I wanted to learn chemistry that way I could’ve honestly gone on Edx.org for FREE and probably have learned the curriculum better. I might of missed 1 assignment and handed in 1 assignment 10 mins late and didn’t receive the grade or support needed. But unfortunately as a paying student I just have to deal with it, 2k down the drain! Funny thing I am also a teacher during covid and actually work in the building with student and never would I have ever made my students feel isolated like this professor did. I’ve never seen or heard my chemistry teachers voice but I’m pretty sure they got paid every two weeks while there’s probably many qualified teachers that could have done a way better job. I was warned about this professor but I learned the hard way. The school overall has a nice faculty and I feel like the majority do care. This is unfortunate when professor get so accustomed to a repetitive lifestyle because blackboard actually graded my exams so again not sure what some professor did during Covid behind the scene and so-called virtual teaching. I was a potential international student and found Manchester Community College a great place to go. I called the first time and wasn’t able to talk to the responsible for international students but left my phone number and email. Umesh sent me an email saying he would give me a call. He did, two days later and was rude and impatient since the moment I picked up the phone and was acting like he was doing me a favor to call me. He said I should go back to my country and take my visa there instead of changing my status here, which is not up to him, was questioning how I was gonna become a student and more. I can’t even explain how rude and disrespectful he was to me who was just trying to make an appointment to go to the campus and get more informations in person about fees and the I20. As someone who isn’t from the USA and relocated from United Kingdom , it was important that I made the correct choice when it came to education in the United States , after doing my research and reaching out to different schools who have a massage program I chose gateway because from the first contact with Mr Tapscott he was super friendly , passionate and helpful , he made sure I had all the information I needed and he directed me to the right place to complete my registration to the program . The price is amazing and they definitely can charge way more for the service they provide , gateway and especially Mr Tapscott made the process so easy and comfortable . My first day of class was so welcoming and they went the extra mile to make sure I/ we students were comfortable , I had the best experience at gateway and this experience was due to my fellow classmates but mostly for the teachers attitude and pride in teaching , Mr Tapscott , ms bouer, and mr Ybarra were amazing , they are so good at what they do and the effort and dedication they put in to each and every student sets them apart from any other education opportunity I’ve taken , we created a family and this includes the teachers , they allowed us to learn at our own pace and didn’t disrespect us , they encouraged us , the material in the program was inspiring and the method of teaching made the learning fun , it was a pleasure to go to gateway for the 9 months of the program and I looked forward to seeing my teachers and classmates everyday throughout the course , the program allows for Externship which gives us the opportunity to work with others in the community also work with employers of massage therapy , it gives you an insight to what to expect after the program . This in my option gives you the experience and confidence to be successful in your future , I love Mr Tapscott and is in my opinion an amazing teacher , a kind , honest , trustworthy person who has pride in his work , he has a pride for everything he does or talks about , I couldn’t of asked for a better college to attend and I am blessed to be apart of the experience and to see people who are passionate about what they do to improve peoples lives . I felt included and that I had a voice within this experience. I recently graduated from the Massage Therapy Program at Gateway. Mr. Tapscott and his team were the most supportive, inspirational, knowledgeable and humorous group of instructors I have ever studied under. Mr. Tapscott taught the online portion of the course that was heavily weighted in anatomy, physiology and introduction to massage therapy. Mr. Tapscott was always offering assistance to students and following up on financial aid, GI Bill funding, finding places to do externships, or assisting with any other issues the students may have faced. The lab portions of the class were taught by Mr. Ybarra and Ms. Bauer, both experienced massage therapists, both dedicated to successful outcomes for all the students. Mr. Ybarra is known for his demonstrations on various massage and stretching techniques during labs. All three instructors shared a great many stories of their experiences in the massage industry. This team of teachers worked very well together and created an environment where the students felt proud to be part of the class and continuously improved in their massage skills through out the course. Each teacher has a great sense of humor, will be direct if there are issues to address but they are always respectful and professional. The program was also the start of many long lasting friendships and a successful future in the massage industry for myself. I highly recommend the Gateway Massage Therapy Program for anyone that has a desire to improve peoples lives.Kathleen Dimitruck

DO NOT ATTEND THIS SCHOOL!!! I have been attending this school for a while. When I had enrolled I wasn’t given proper information. I do online school and I’ve been struggling with math and biology and to my surprise the instructors do not put the effort in to help other students online. I went in to speak to an advisor and low and behold she didn’t help either. I have a learning disability and stated that information to the advisor and the best answer she gave me was “unfortunately we don’t have special services for students who have disabilities” I’m in the process of getting my associates degree in DMS and no advisors informed me before I started the program that I needed to take an HESI Exam. Another thing is for students who do the online classes, students have to their webcams on to take the tests/quizzes but don’t require it during other class time such as completing assignments. IM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS SCHOOL!!! THERE IS NO HELP WHAT SO EVER AND DONT HELP STUDENTS SUCCEED!! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!! And because I struggle in math, I’ve tried free Tutoring and they only available for an hour and if you need more time you need to make a new appointment. An hour gets 3 questions done and they still don’t walk you through the process.Monica Balderrama

This place is a perfect example of “you get what you pay for”. I attended September 2009 – May 2018 (with a 3 year gap from 2012-2015). The hospitality teachers and department head were wonderful, and a lot of my general Ed teachers were amazing too and I have nothing but great things to say about the teachers. However, the registrar office and academic advisors were a nightmare to deal with. No one ever smiles, my message NEVER got relayed to the right person, and it was such a headache to deal with offices equivalent to dealing with the DMV. They also claimed that when you graduate you can transfer your credits to a state college which is false. Some of the credits transferred, but classes like Math don’t transfer and I have to take a placement test to get into the same exact math class I took at Gateway and passed the class with an A. The bookstore staff was the most incapable, rude, useless group of people. Graduation was a completely unorganized joke – they told graduates to arrive 2 hours early to stand in a parking lot with no instruction and 1 porta potty for about 300 people. They also only announce 1 of your degrees – so if you have 3 degrees they won’t even take the extra 5 seconds to announce all 3 (I thought graduation was supposed to recognize your achievements?) I would have never wasted my time going to graduation if I knew how pathetic it would be. Parking on campus in New Haven was crazy and the lot constantly overflows into the Temple Street lot so you get to walk in stairways that smell like urine with bums roaming the lot and drunk people stumbling to their car after your class at 9:30 at night with no security guards to get to your car. Literally no security whatsoever like your completely on your own in a public lot in the heart of New Haven. Like most schools, they don’t allow weapons inside the building so you don’t even have a way to defend yourself if you get approached in the lot which will happen at some point. There were also hospitality classes that I had to buy things out of pocket and was promised reimbursement that never happened.Nina Tiso

I loved working with the children in the Early Learning Center, but the adults in the classroom didn't really treat me that well. They didn't really accommodating me that well when it came to tasks such as setting the table for breakfast,lunch, and snack. A coworker got nasty because I wasnt moving fast enough for her. I'm visually impaired and I have to take my time because of my vision. I had to complain about this coworker 2 times. Another thing that didnt make sense was I had to walk to the other side of campus to eat lunch for my 30 minute break. The teacher of the classroom would get mad at me for being late because I am a slow eater and I cant move fast again because of my bad vision. student teachers aren't allowed to eat in the teachers lounge. I shouldn't have had to complain to my boss about eating in the teacher lounge. This place needs to be more accommodating to student teachers with disabilities and staff needs to be more compassionate. I am very glad that I don't work at this place anymore! Beautiful atmosphere. I was in their old building on Long wharf years ago, and seeing how they've grown and progressed into what I consider a university now, is life changing for the people attending this college. For a community college, they offer so much for the students with assistance as well as their educational endeavors. I have to be honest about this. Good college when it comes to campus design, some Professor's teaching skills, and assistance for school related issues. Although, the school teaches bad ethics. For example, sports lack discipline. They will teach there athletes to run score boards up. Up by 20 in a basketball game with 3mins to go, they will shoot more three point shots than Steve Kerr. The most alarming thing is faculty will participate in Hazing students. I've watch this with my own two eyes. Call them out on it, and they will just deny it, at least my professor did. I am currently a student there, who help form a club, in order to help students get there basic needs to become a successful student. So just remember, good campus design, some Professors have good teaching styles, good for resources, but terrible place to learn good ethics. To me learning good ethics and applying them is one of the most important, or the most important thing to learn as a student. Would not be the first school I would want to send my child to. I do recommend this college as an affordable and easy starting point but be ready to encounter many hurdles in your way and a lot of incompetent staff. Make sure to double check everything you do here, especially the financial aid part. Word of advice: try and transfer out of this ghetto school as soon as possible. It'll save you the headache. TAKE ONLINE CLASSES! That way, you will not have to deal with their crap. The only good thing you'll find about this school is the cheap tuition, some good professors if you can find the right ones. So far, I managed to have good ones. And a few nice students along the way. But the unprofessional, unorganized with the admins, staff, etc is a nightmare. I'm speaking from experience with the financial aid and trying to sign up for classes. They act like they don't know what they're doing. Not to mention, you try to be friendly and they give you attitude like you did something wrong. Plus, the staff and admins are incredibly immature and straight up bullies. When you ask for help, they will act irritated, rude or expect you to it yourself. You know that you are going to be around students all day long, and if that is something you cannot handle or deliver civil professionalism, then why are you working here to begin with? Oh yeah, because they just hire anybody, and just hungry for a paycheck. Oh and also, people just tell you different answers or just straight up lie to you. If I had the choice, I would not spend another semester here for another minute. They really need to do something about this ghetto, unprofessional, unorganized, low class school and hire better admins, staff, etc too. I'll be so glad when I'm able to leave this school because I will not miss it. I'm sticking to my statement that Virginia schools are better. Also, another thing to add is that the advisers do not know how to do their jobs! I hated this college including all staffs, administration and president of this college I had many issues with back when I was attending this college. Yes, I graduated in 2004, made very high grades and achieve my goals, but the President of this college did nothing about my situation. She failed to do her job claiming that she will not bar a student for harassing me. She is very lucky I did not sue her before I graduated. Other people has complained about allowing non-visitors attending to this school for no reason. This brings a major concern about safety. I would advise no one attend to this school. I wonder why there are so many bad reviews about this school. It's not as bad as I thought or as I read. Yes, I did have a bad impression at first because I was supposed to take four courses, now I'm taking three because of their carelessness. But that's the only problem I've encountered here. Signing up was easy, I was provided help at every step in order to insure my success when I completed my diploma, I felt confident enough to move forward with a degree. Once I completed my diploma and as I have been working on my degree I have had the best career advisor. You would think that this school being a “community college” they are more understanding of financial situations and are more efficient with financial aid an other “programs” they offer. Not this school! Not only does every single person in the financial aid office treat you just like another person asking for handouts but depending on what staff you run into behind the desk you might not even get the correct information! I went to the financial aid office yesterday due to the fact that I found out when trying to register for classes for spring 2018 that I was on a financial “probation” these people gave me NO NOTICE NO CALL NO NOTHING but that’s the least of my worry at this point. I go to their office the girl behind the desk had told me due to me getting a D in my math class last semester of 2017 financial aid was skeptical about covering classes for this upcoming semester so I would have to appeal( good thing I came a week before registRtion was over ) I appeal the form then I get a notice in the mail saying I’ve been only approved for 1 class this semester up to 6 credits. I was a little bothered, but I took it, I go down to finally register once again! Then I was told I didn’t have enough for books an technically they were only covering up to 3 credits an my class is 4 so I owe the school clerk a balance of $23.00 and now I’m also expected to pay for my text book. 6 days before class starts … what happened to the notice they sent me that said they cover up to six credits???? literally because I struggled in my math class last semester an got a D I’m going through all this torture as someone who is barely able to pay my own freaking bills at 20 an living by myself just trying to get my own education, every Semester it’s something else with this school the office people SUCK they are there for a job an that’s it. Then When you ask to speak to someone in charge of financial aide they torture you with hold for atleast a good 20 minutes on the phone ( probably praying for you to hang up) unless your willing to take 2 and three trips down to the office which is no problem probably for someone who doesn’t works full time.so now that the semester is getting ready to start an they feel like they did their part by covering the “majority” of my class (3 out of 4 credits, which my paper says they should cover up to 6 credits at least but whatever) I’m now expected to fend for myself an purchase a $200 text book within the next six days. Boy I can’t wait to be successful in my near future an to look back on the mistreatment an lack of support from this school an tell it to others as a learning experience an as a recommendation to never attend here just because of the thought of it being “cheaper” or “local” because u get what u paid for an these people’s attitude is just as cheap as the tuition they offer for a class an they lack what REAL schools have an that’s staff that cares about their students and the well being of others. Professors and fellow students are great but the administration and admissions process is a night mare. Little to no help to navigate threw the process. No one is willing to answer question. They always refer you to another person. Example: Me: Can you please tell me how I can access the wifi here? Advisor: You will have to contact a student advisor for that. Me: :/ Avoid online courses here. Professor did not make access easy. Not clear as to what material is needed. If professor isn't able to help you navigate course or they themselves aren't sure of what to do you will still be responsible for payment. Only time in my life I hired a professional service and they were unable to preform paid for task and I was still responsible for payment. And of course there is no one available to talk to about this and if there is no one knows who it is to refer you. If you do decide to take courses here try to make friends with other students that have already been threw the admissions/ administration nightmare. Don't take online. 1: I registered for a class and dropped it a before week prior to it starting, boy was I in for a surprise bill. $120 for a class I didn’t even step foot in, let alone it didn’t even start when I dropped it. What a SCAM. Of course I had no choice but to pay it. So just be cautious when you’re registering for a class, because you cannot change you’re mind and not expect to pay a fee even if the class hasn’t begun. 2: If you’re “graduating” be sure to wait months for your actual diploma to be delivered. Very unorganized system they have going there. I graduated in may and have yet to receive any proof of it. My transcript is still not updated with my current degree and my diploma is who knows where. Sucks. 3. If you’re receiving financial aid and you’re registered for a class and the school decides they want to cancel it, be prepared to repay financial aid back.S G

Great place until you have an issue, “the person you need to talk to isn’t here today” well I guess “the person I need to talk to” hasn’t been there since 2019. Have really given this school every chance under the sun to do the right thing but nothing ever gets done, 3 years trying to resolve an error (made by the school) and here I still am. And “the person I need to talk to” still isn’t there. The overwhelming majority of staff is wonderful and dedicated to their jobs, however there is a painfully obvious lack of competence in upper level leadership. I have called/showed up well over 25 times trying to get things squared away and nobody ever reaches out. Have had staff email other staff to no avail. Even with full-time work for the duration of full-time study, it was easier than where my Bachelor of Arts was from: Binghamton. Long story short, the Public and nonprofits sector didn't want me; but, made some successes in the Corporate world in Banking, Insurance, followed by Investment Brokerage. My point ? The college will do anything to get your money and be admitted, and that's where the niceties end. Their website is contradictory, and they are slow to respond to questions and concerns. You can't trust what they say either because half the time they tell you information that is incorrect. They also rip students off by charging a semester fee of $245/semester (do legitimate colleges do that? NO), and they force you to take 2 courses through the college. One being an online "cornerstone" course where you have to spend about $1350 in ADDITION to the 2 English course that are required by the college. It's basically a dumbed down version of the 2 english course requirements (which can be taken elsewhere), so they can make money out of you. I would STRONGLY recommend getting anything that is said or promised in writing (or record it), because they will make mistakes, and then deny it when called out on it. They are not really professional, and the entire experience is amateur at best. That said, I was able to get a degree for less than $5,000 (I tested out of all the requirements except for the two requirements), but if I could do it again, I would have gone with Thomas Edison State College (which is a state school in New Jersey for testing out of a degree like Charter Oak) instead which has no residency requirements, and can be completely tested out of. I also think the name sounds more legit than "Charter Oak."M M

I did have a helpful advisor, however, the financial aid (FA) department was difficult to get in touch with. I had to go down to the New Britain office in person 3 times and then call & email the office several times before getting even one issue resolved. After a year of their callous responses, I sent an email to the FA office to complain. They basically responded to me by calling me a liar and trying to discredit me! It was terribly unprofessional. Charter Oak treated me as just another faceless number. The lack of personalization and unfriendly response from the employees showed me that I did not matter. I felt mistreated on their end. Don’t waste your money on a school that will refuse to hear you out and better their efforts. I wasn’t even looking for anything in return; I just wanted them to know that they needed improvement. There are a lot of areas where I think Charter Oak State College could improve but, the fact of the matter is, I got my BS here and probably spent less than 5,000 dollars. TOTAL! All these people complaining about the cost of higher education need to look at schools like Charter Oak. They have little in the way of credit-residency requirements — I was only required to take eight credits in-house — and they let you test out of as many credits as you like. For a fast, self-directed learner such as myself, it was perfect. My only caution is that I've found it very difficult to get into graduate school with my degree, despite some excellent grades and standardized test scores. The world still isn't prepared for educational paradigms like this.R Williams

This will probably be a review that management will never see or just consider another “complaining patient.” This is a huge hospital company so this will not mean anything but if anyone is thinking about bringing their little one here, try somewhere else. My son (1yrs old) was sent here from urgent care his o2 stat was low and trouble breathing. We got put in a room with another person, not admitted. They gave a treatment and never re assessed him, left him for 3 and a half hours. My husband tried to ask the nurse if she can check him again.. never came back. He then had to complain to the charge nurse which she gave us a number for patient experience- which I know will go know where. We are one patient among thousands, and feel like we’re expressing our feelings that will go in one ear and out the other since they’re just a big company. It’s sad that there wasn’t any concern for my poor baby to even get the least amount of care.the bare minimum. Not even above and beyond just check on him atleast!! I understand there are priority patients, but how does one know if he is a priority with his repository issues if he hasn’t even been checked on. Unacceptable. My husband is a healthcare provider and this is NOT quality care.taybabe

I am at a complete loss. We have made and cancelled appointments for my son with a doctor at ccmc and we can’t get him there. No one asks why we can’t get there. Just says okay, we’ll cancel. When I attempt explain his illness, no one cares. We were referred to this doctor because he has a great reputation and the fact he was familiar with my son’s illness. Now my son will consider to suffer with a serious life altering illness until I can find another doctor who understands his illness. It is disappointing how service has decreased at the hospital in the last few years. I won’t get into our ER experience last year. If your child does not have a well known illness, go elsewhere.Tarra Baron

My son has a hemangioma that was growing incredibly close to his eye. The team quickly assessed and recommended a plan of treatment that we were able to begin within a week. The plan required us to have a 5 hour long appointment so that he could be monitored for his first dose of the medication. I was there for 5 hours with my 2 year old and my 2 month old and they could not have made the experience better for us. The staff were all amazing and kind. Staff consistently checked on us and every question I had was listened to and answered with great detail. I was very impressed with our experience!Lynelle Wibberley

Dr.George was the best instructor ive ever had LET ME TELL YOU! i have never enjoyed school and never made above a B plus but after taking my first module with him i past all my first 3 classes with a perfect score of 100. His teaching style is amazing, he makes you feel like youre not alone, and he loves when u ask questions so if you're like me and hate asking questions he makes it so much easier its awesome. My career service advisor was great! Ms. Alexandria Vela helped me tremendously on my job search. She was one of the people from the campus who have always been very helpful. She has always been very attentive with me and always checked in, during and after my externship, and now that I'm hired she has continued to check in. May I express, I was worried about joining this institution, I hadn’t been in school for a while but when I first visited everybody made me feel so welcome with a constant smile on their face, I felt encouraged and wanting to be in class. I cannot say enough great things about this store, the staff, and their products. My in-store experience has been incredible. Every time I go, I am approached and helped the second I walk in to the door. On my most recent visit, Marsi and Caron were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, kind and patient. They both listened to what my needs were and made incredibly great suggestions. With 20 minutes, I made a decision and the product was scheduled to be delivered to my mother that afternoon. The process could not have been easier. Marsi and Caron communicated with me throughout the day regarding the delivery and everything went perfectly. I was truly stunned at how incredibly easy everything was. The delivery experience was as exceptional. Dylan and Dean were incredibly friendly and respectful. Gerry and I were very impressed with the knowledge and expertise of Marsi and the staff of On The Mend, Southbury. It was wonderful to actually try out the scooter we were interested in. Aside from the professionalism, what came through loud and clear was their caring and compassion for the customer. We were so confident that we did purchase the scooter. It was delivered promptly by 2 very nice young, caring gentlemen. Dom and Marc. We discovered their was a battery issue. I wanted to rent a motorized wheelchair over the Memorial Day weekend for a concert I was attending with my daughter and oh boy, was I pleasantly surprised! They gave me a spectacular deal over a full week! I would have never been able to go if I didn’t have a wheelchair and we had the best time! The staff in their Southbury office were more than friendly, so helpful, patient and truly interested in me! You can’t fake that level of kindness!! In and out in less than an hour with all four wisdom teeth! Treated very well and the care was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and efficient. This group are the only oral surgeons we use and have always had a great experience. The consultations are also very informative and everyone is accommodating with my daughter and son’s school schedule. My mind is at ease with the staff and providers always. The kindest, most considerate team ive met in a dental office. From the lavendar calming smelly (thank you so much Lisa) , which i appreciated beyond measure, and it helped alot, to the spacer to bite down on. I started the electrical program in June of 2021 and had a pleasant experience to start. I was in a class with about twelve other students and felt that I was learning and retaining information adequately partly due to the class size. Fast forward a few months and our class has almost quadrupled in size. Half of the class is required to sit in one room and watch the instructor on a projector while he is in another room with the other half of the class. It is now to the point where students have to rely on other students to teach them certain things because of how thin the instructors have been stretched. I, as well as numerous other students, have voiced their displeasure with administration multiple times but we've essentially been told that it's something were gonna have to deal with. I can't speak highly enough on behalf of the instructors Mr. Sterling and Mr. DeFelice who clearly care about their student's education, but it is evident that Lincoln Tech (New Britain) as a whole does not. I can't speak on behalf of the other Lincoln Tech campuses but I imagine they are run similar. If you are someone looking at tech schools I implore you to look at all your options.Tyler Mattioda

When I first applied it was to go into the nursing program but I was discouraged by the person I met with. She said since I was a single parent it would be hard for me to take and keep up with classes and referred me to apply to the medical assistant program instead which I reluctantly did. (Big mistake) even though I had made deans list, was one of the top in the class grades wise and had a 3.76 gpa I was placed last for an "externship" and then when placed I was placed in a small office that didn't need an extra medical assistant. I didn't get a job and wasn't helped securing one either. I was so pissed I didn't even show to graduation! I also aced my Registration exam the first time and was THE only person in my class to get registered or certified. I wasted time away from my child and had to take out two loans I'm STILL paying for with nothing to show. I always discourage people from going here because it's not worth it. And the kicker!!! Placed want at least a year or 2 experience before they hire you so it's extremely hard to find work when you only get less than a months training in your field! Would've been better off at a community college or 4 year school.kanosha norman

I looked into this school a few years ago, and when i showed up to take the tour they said i first had to sign in by writing my name and phone number down on the sign-in sheet. I felt uncomfortable doing this, but they wouldn't give me the tour unless I provided them with my phone number for some reason. Well, it turns out that the reason is so that they can continue to sent you text messages begging you to attend their school, even several years after you already decided not to. Blocking the number doesn't work either as they use a different number each time. If you decide to look into this school, i *highly* recommend providing them with a fake phone number when you sign in.Andrew Preston

I’ve debated on weather or not to post but everyone asks me if I would recommend this school. The teachers there are amazing, they want to make sure you learn and know what you are doing. To be honest once you get to clinical they forget about you. I asked for help on multiple occasions because I was struggling with a protocol, I was told “we will put a schedule for you to come to the school with a teacher to learn more and you will go to the hospital one day a week” this was in addition to be already being at a clinic site 5 days a week. That never happened, I was told during one meeting when I asked to switch to vascular so I can have that experience on my resume that if the general site I was at now liked me I should stay because if I make a good impression they will let other students go to that site. I give credit to my teachers but that’s about the only good thing I can say about this school. I’ve had employers say they won’t hire if you go to this school because of the reputation. I know they’ve made changed and added staff since I graduated last summer but I would suggest making sure you do all your research on what accreditation’s the school actually has before making your choice on where to get your education. I thankfully was able to find a job on my own many months afterwards. Do your research and look up their accreditation’s before signing any contract with them.Lindsey Genovese

I recently graduated from AIHT, Cardiovascular Technology program. I did my clinical hours at Windham Hospital in Willimantic where I got hired right after. During covid, I realized how important the healthcare field was so I decided that I wanted to pursue my career in the medical field. After searching for and touring a few schools in my area I chose the AIHT ultrasound program. Lauren and Ravish were very helpful explaining all the steps and processes. As a single mother, AIHT’s flexible hybrid program enabled me to balance my personal life and school schedule really well. Upon completion of my clinical hours I felt really confident about my knowledge and felt comfortable taking the CCI board exam. I scored a 845 and officially became Registered Cardiac Sonographer. Finally, I want to thank all of the instructors and staff at AIHT for enabling me to start my new journey in the medical field as a Cardiac Sonographer.Yossinee Israsena

I'm very happy I found AIHT school which fit into my schedule and was close to my house. All the professors and administrators were good and helpful. I'm very THANKFUL for having KRISTEN & DONALD as ECHO scanning instructors because they really benefited me and made a great impact in my career. They are very knowledgeable and have plenty years of experience. They were very helpful and prepared me for the hospital environment. Stamford hospital crew were amazing and I can't thank them enough for helping me pursue my true dream. I'm overall thankful for the program.
