20 Best Surgical Tech Programs In Denton, TX (2022 Updated)

I called WCC and attended for 3 semesters. Failed my first class because I didn’t know the difference between on- line and virtual classes. Financial aid denied me and reconnect was going to force me to take 2 classes or four total in a year. I have ADHD and bipolar two disorder. It was either the welcome center or the student advisor office that told me that ADHD was just a medical diagnosis and not a disability. I am a mom of three and a grandmother of a toddler.I have been out of school for over 15 years. I am by no means stupid or unteachable. I am great at what I do and am raising well adjusted tiny humans with an awareness of mental health treatment and general accountability. The schools online program send a message that it is doable for everybody and tailored to fit one’s schedule. I have done drop in tutoring I have called the helpdesk I’ve called every number possible for help. I have spoken to financial aid, I have spoken to success coaches, as well as a counselor affiliated with the schoolMy GPA drop below 2.0 and now I can’t afford to go to school. I was in the paralegal program and I can by no means, not understand the material but I struggle so much with the homework and the amount of things you’re expected to know upon entry into this community college. This school has destroyed hope for my future and nobody seems to know what anyone else is doing. The only reason I passed one class is because Professor Lindsey took the time to show me the things I needed to know. Two other instructors, Refused to even go over the homework in virtual classes. They think because it’s in the schedule they shouldn’t have to talk about it in class. Instructors should talk about anything that makes work unclear to students!! Refusal to go over homework by instructors is the biggest thing that caused my struggle in this institution. If you are a mom or a person with day-to-day responsibilities… think twice and get as much info as you can before entering the school. WCC is not tailored for the working person or the single mother. Apologies for any triteness. Democracy runs well w an educated populace. A few hallmarks of a Democracy are; Quality of Life, Education, Freedoms and the Civil Rights of All. Universal Healthcare, Access, Education and Trades training, why not? If we are able to pay one man millions of dollars, then why not provide for millions of people? How often does corporate welfare, “trickle down” and subsidies to huge corporations translate into savings? Educated, critically thinking humans are one goal and Community Colleges are gateways and answers to improving and increasing Democratic values. How naive, ignorant and misinformed I was as a young adult, to snub and look down on Community Colleges. As the decades passed and the Grace of wisdom was given to me, I began to realize the value of CC. Mistakes made can be the process in which we grow and improve, if those mistakes don’t kill you. Thus, Washtenaw Community College is packed full of the possibilities of enhancing the potentialities, aptitudes and visions, just as any institution of higher learning should be. The key: Higher Learning. Do not disparage the “in-district” resident’s ability to pay $95 a credit hour. Of course, the Big 10, Ivy League and others are prestigious and wonders to behold. Yet talent is talent and at times it all comes out in the wash. We are all in the mosaic of life. An accommodating student center, the Legendary Morris Lawrence w the Auditorium’s name in his honor and the music program still going strong. WCC offers countless resources, references and an ability to improve your life plan. A new career pathway, a hobby, a skill, a language- don’t break an arm or a leg, go into an easy transition, by becoming a WCC student and hold your head high.Chawn Aray

Took Motorcycle Safety: Basic Rider Course Weeknight. The course was very well done with professional instructors and decent equipment. Both classroom (parking garage) and range were excellent venues for the subject matter. The class had full enrollment (12 riders) and instructors provided significant "hands on" individualized training. Some participants (students) were familiar with motorcycles others were First Time riders. Appropriate attention and training was received by all. Great job WCC!Michael Bell

I will start with the good. The instructors are amazing. Most of them that I have had are very intelligent and filled with the necessary knowledge to teach you. Now the bad. DO NOT LISTEN TO THE COUNSELORS!!!! Figure out what classes you need to take on your own. I spent 3.5 years there with a combination of full and part time and have no degree and no requirements for any programs that I told them I was most interested in. When I was a vulnerable 17 year old first generation college student there completely on my own they told me I needed to take reading for Nursing. For one, looking back, I placed out of reading. For two, I have yet to come across a nursing program that requires reading. It seems that they always gave me the run around and had me taking all of the classes that I did not need, and none of the classes that I did need. If you can figure out what classes you need to take on your own, then The school if great, and the education that you receive is great. If you have nobody to help you or guide you in your life and are solely dependent on the counselors advise, find an alternative.Amber Parson

I didn’t know I Loved ECC, until I moved and I was out of district so I had to go to MCC. I Hate MCC everything and everyone is shut off by 4pm and there’s no almost no teachers willing to teach past 4 (There are but only some). This is impossible to manage. I’m getting a job near ECC so I can go back. I MISS YOU. Not only does ecc have a ton a teachers, but they offer a variety of times for classes especially in the afternoon. There teachers are wonderful and dedicated (not all of course but most) and there facility offers so many different activities and clubs you can go crazy in there. Terrible business. They sold me books that I didnt need for classes. They wouldn't refund me nor buy the books back. MThey sold me a used loose leaf History book and my HIS 109 book was missing pages. when I talked to the lady just now, she wouldn't do anything about it, handed me one of my other books and said they have enough of them right now. She had a terrible attitude when all I showed was respect. I paid over $480 to this bookstore, all I got was disrespect and inconvenience. I will not be purchasing my books or software through the campus bookstore any longer. I've been treated like garbage just for walking through the door.Ross Daugherty

I graduated here with my associate's degree in Leadership. 60 of my credits transferred from NWTC to Concordia University of Wisconsin. I preferred the video conference classes. My son is currently attending the school. I was a student there back in the early 80's. The campus is very nice. Helpful faculty, variety of courses and majors. Good food choices at the cafeteria and a workout area with plenty of free weights and machines with an attached gymnasium. Lots of nice areas to study both inside and outside.David Klinzing

Excellent place to take a test! I took a certification exam through Pearson Vue at NWTC. The test center employees explained everything thoroughly and the center itself was quiet enough to take my exam. Im a criminal Justice major and i like program except one huge thing it needs more hands traning so you prepared for the job once you graduate and not have move on for four degree and they need to have dorminties to live on i hardly see people on campus it almost empety they have two many campuses they need to have one and the paint falling off the school. The advisors are literally the worst I have seen. They are basically unaware of how to advise, impossible to reach, don't follow through, and give no recommendations on pre requisite classes. Now the health science department is even worse. The instructors pride themselves on a high failure percentage. They deviate from school policy and ALL Bio 210 and 211 professors are arrogant and unwilling to support your child. Stay away from the arrogant professors, AND they don't care about your future.AB Gentry

this technical college is the best technical college in south carolina, there was a problem with the workers at the edgefield campus, they lost my transcripts, and they tried to cancel my advisement appointment so they could meet their boyfriend in the parking lot, the students at the edgefield campus were rude, and trashy, they are not going to stop me from going there, the classes that you have to take are wonderful, the instructional methods are excellentJessica Taylor

Important tip!! Join SSS TRIO!! They are a student support service that really cares about your success! They've got learning workshops and grant money for struggling students, either academically, financially, or both. When I went to University I never had something like this. Idk if it existed, and if it did, the University never advertised it for students. Also! This school has an amazing program for those who want to work with animals. The ZAS program (Zoo and Aquarium Science) is a 2 yr applied associates program and its goal is to get you straight into your career. They have terrestrial animals and an aquarium on site! I went for the IT area. Big mistake. They could not keep knowledgeable instuctors. Was told most would be online when enrolling and after enrollment only two classes was online. They kept putting me in classes that were to advanced like one or two classes should have been done before taking. I have a issue with walking due to a previous injury had asked for assistance to the buildings and never received. I ended up leaving due to the rude and not trained instructors and it being to much to make it up the hill to classes daily. This was in 2015, 2016.Marinda Carter

I would recommend HCC to anyone who seeks a regular education but if your untrusted in the nursing school through this school stay away! If you are a self learning person who can Consume large amounts of information quickly then you will do fine in this nursing school! If you are not they will chew you up and spit you out and not even care, they will take your money and pays you out of the nursing program without so much as a single moment of help. The director of nursing will call you names and insult you and threaten you and the principal of the school when it was brought to her attention about the behavior of the director of nursing and the problems within the nursing department, and the bulling from the Nursing staff towards the students was insulting! The principal will laugh in your face and not even try to help you, but The principal, will take your suggestions on how to improve the nursing program for future students but as for you a current struggling student you will get absolutely no help even if you go to the staff every single week you will get absolutely no help and they will watch you fail out of nursing school and take your money. The only reason I am giving this school a 3 star rating is because of the teachers. Don't get me wrong every school has its problems but the majority of the teachers there are amazing. The problem with this school is anything and everything that has to do with the admissions building. It is full of nothing but student workers that don't know how to do their job. Trying to get an actual adult on the phone that actually works there for a living and not minimum wage is like pulling teeth. You will not get anything done by the deadlines they have because you will not be able to get any help from anyone. I have been communicating with Ms. Deloria Scott for the past few months over the phone. I am in the midst of the overwhelming process of moving cross-country and enrolling in a new school. I had plenty of questions for Ms. Scott and she always was able to help me out and answer all of my questions with her positive attitude toward her job. If i could legit give ZERO STARS, I would. This is NOT… I repeat NOT a good school. If you are design/business major the staff do NOT work with you and the accommodations are a joke. You have to re-do them all again next semester. Secondly… the RA's #do not do their job. We had a huge issue in our dorm building and restrictions had been in place for the people who were causing the issues not to come back into the building. The RA's allowed them back into the building, saying they were… "Safe" to be in the building. The building muse is even WORSE. the staff there don't take care of all the fights and drug use that happens there. Two of my friends were sexually assaulted in that building and left Radford because of it. I can't speak for other dormatories, but Muse and Trinkle are NO GO'S. People are very rude and try to start drama with you and also… if you do come to this school, please PLEASE lock your bedroom doors…. people like to steal! Also the graduate teachers are the WORST. I've had a few, all if whom didn't like their students. They're mucj younger teachers, fyi. I only have one grad student professor who is a decent human being. Also people here are really racist. There's so much racism and fights here, it's insane. It's better to pick another school if possible, Especially when it comes to safety. The staff do NOT care about your safetyM B

Radford University is a great place to go to college for someone that is looking for a great education, great facilities, an exciting campus life, and a friendly and united community. As an international student I've had a great experience in my two years that I've been studying at Radford. The faculty is great, well knowledgeable in their subjects, and are always willing to help you, the student life on and off campus is fun, the smaller class sizes enable you to learn better and enable you to get to know your professors, the campus is beautiful, the facilities are mostly modern and well equipped. The university is constantly investing and working in improving the quality of education, the competitiveness of the school, and resources that we have, and it is clearly getting better every time. This school is truly a fraud! They are claiming to support the military and Join the Yellow Ribbon Program to get the recognition but the actual support is not even pennies against this multi-million dollar school. This program was built to assist in financially supporting Military and Family Members to attend schools out-of-state and abroad at a rate comparable, if not equal, to in-state students and help overcome the hardships of military families constantly moving in support of our nations freedom. It is a joke they are calling themselves Yellow Ribbon Program members; offering a measly $1000 against a $25,000 annual out-of-state tuition difference. Then to offer it to only 2 undergraduates and 2 graduates in a school of over 10,000!!….Really? I can get a better military discount at Waffle House! This University has a lot of shady practices going on. Please be careful with taking information given by financial aid employees as fact. I have been given conflicting information from this department to where I feel I can no longer trust them. I HIGHLY recommend doing emailing communications with them and BCC other departments that is pertinent to your concern for a second opinion. It's unfortunate, but employees will lie and say they did not say a certain thing to keep their jobs and will lie about what was said with no problems. EVERY DEPT IS RAN LIKE ITS OWN BUSINESS, THE DEPARTMENTS DO NOT COMMUNICATE. I have been a student here for almost 3 years, and it has been a nightmare. Disappointed doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about this school. I live on campus and a week can’t go by without something breaking. I’m beginning to think Lamar puts LITERAL bandaids on things to “fix” the problem. Also the dorms are not what I’d call clean. I moved into my summer dorm a few days ago and the place was infested with gnats. I’ve killed at least one hundred of these things in a matter of a few days. The student resources are the highlight for me, the learning lab for learning disabilities is simply perfect. My Business Administration Management class was amazing, I learned so much and I am carrying it with everywhere I go. Some people do not like it and so do. My instructor was so brilliant and I am so proud and thankful for him. This is my Story: Being an International Student at Santa Fe College is the worst thing that can happen to you. Besides that your tuition is 3 times more just for being an immigrant, they don't offer scholarships. Why we are not allow to get help? because we are just seem as a profit. Also, we do not get the benefit to choose how many classes we want to take because we are "required" to be full-time. We can only take one class online for semester. This post is about my tuition and what they did to me at Santa Fe. I apply for a student loan because I couldn't pay the ridiculous amount of money, but what happened is that the "amazing people" at financial aid didn't processed my loan, so my classes got drop. I talked with everyone at Santa Fe for help, even trying a payment plan but the last day to add/drop classes just passed. I brought all my papers signed of my loan to financial aid, and they told me that nothing can be done to help me. They just play with me sending me to person to person making lose my time and nobody helped me. Whenever I went to cashier's office and told what my situation was this lady after treating me horrible told me "we don't care about your situation, we just need the $6,000 today or you can start saying "goodbye" to your visa. I feel really glad about the help that they didn't give me, by the end of this semester I am going to be back in Venezuela because they did nothing to help me keep my visa status. SF College is nice and affordable for local kids; however, they are not at all equipped to handle international students' concerns. Staff that students interact on a day to day basis are made up of mostly underpaid student workers, and their answer to every question is a default "No". It is really frustrating. You can immediately see and feel the difference between this small state college and your typical large, internationally experienced university. Nonetheless, in-house faculty do a decent job teaching courses. I can't say the same about Santa Fe's adjunct instructors. Some are truly clueless (though it is not their fault; poor adjunct instructors are so underpaid that it made my jaw drop when I heard how much they make per semester). As a student who wants to actually learn the material, your best bet would be to register early for courses based on the instructors offering them. Overall, Santa Fe College is an affordable stepping stone to a larger University, such as their next door neighbor UF. I suppose it would also be a nice option for regional kids from lower to middle-income families. But that's about all the credit I can give to Santa Fe College. Culturally, it is lacking diversity. Went there in 2012 right after HS from Orlando. I went there to hopefully transfer to UF. The system failed me. The guidance counselors did nothing to guide me, I got depressed there and failed. I was a very good student in high school(top 5% with both IB and AP-full coursework) until 12th grade a personal event happened and I stopped attending and starting failing but still graduated. This is why I had to go to SF college as my gpa dropped to be able to to to UF. I had a 2030 on the SAT in HS as well. I was highly able to do well at SF but they failed me by not giving proper guidance or support and it ruined my whole college career as they didn’t accept my appeals for late withdrawal and I was stuck with a horrible GPA that ruined my life.Anonymous Someone

The grounds at CFCC are beautiful, the students are fantastic, and the culture is what makes it truly special. I don’t even know where to begin with this place. First of all if you are considering going here you need to run in the opposite direction. I moved here from out of state and gave this institution 10,000 of my dollars just to be disrespected and ridiculed by the faculty and staff. My high school teachers were more competent and respectful than anyone here. The school is run down and smells like mildew other than the main building they use to advertise this place. I did not learn one single thing the entire time I was here and let it be known that I am now graduating to be a medical professional so I was not the problem. Be careful if using MYCAA to pay for classes, regardless of whether or not you submit on your end on time. If the school doesn't submit it on time on their end (as in my case) you'll receive a dozen and a half reminders that tuition is due (the school doesn't handle MYCAA and the funds get sent to the student to then pass on to the school and if it's not paid by "x" date at "x" time classes are dropped. Had I of known this, I would have applied for schooling elsewhere. Waste of time. Not everyone wants or needs to use FAFSA………Courtney Myszewski

No a good place to take a home inspector class you have 60 hours to read a huge book, and triton college push you to get brand new book but all the material they show you is from 1900, therefore the teacher encourage you to just read the book because their old material doesn't Match with the new book, nothing is updated. Plus If you miss 1 point on your exam you lose the whole course and have to do it again because they don't give you another chance to take another test even for one point and expected to pay all again.so you waste your time,your money..and all over it the instructor says that if English is not your first language you are in the wrong place and makes comments all the time about people's accents. The cashiers will emails you everyday and night and they will make you pay for not attending classes that you never even registered for! Clean, friendly, cool school. I was in the A building, the lady in room A126 was VERY nice and quiet since it was a testing room. They even have FREE feminine products in restrooms for women. I asked about future classes and the lady who helped me initially was VERY pleasant and turned her computer screen around to show me how to navigate the schools website!! Both my wife and I were returning college students and Stark State Alumni class of 2012. We both received a great education. She went for respiratory therapy and I went for Graphic Design. The graphic design program was wonderful. The professors were all very knowledgeable and really cared about their students (huge shout outs to Michelle Lash and Eugene Starr). The classes are small and it's very easy to schedule time with the professors if you need help or need to go over some things. It's also nice to have online classes if that's your thing. For the younger students (and older alike), Stark State also hooks you up with SALT at no charge after graduation, which is a useful tool to help find employement after graduation. Luckily I furthered my career without having to use SALT. The biggest recommendation I could suggest would be to offer more of certain classes. Sometimes only one class is offered a semester and can conflict with working hours. Thank you, Stark State and to all of my professors for giving me a great education and giving me a fighting chance in the workforce after graduation. For those who are seeking four year degrees and beyond, Stark State is definitely a great (and affordable) place to start.stephen slusny

I attended Stark State College a number of years ago when it was Stark Technical College. I am surprised by the negative reviews, because I had a great experience at the school. I graduate with a degree in Computer Technology, and the courses were challenging and taught me a lot. I still remember some of the great instructors like Mrs. McBride in my math classes. I even worked there part-time for about a year doing LAN Administration. They have provided me with a foundation for a very successful career in IT. I later completed my Bachelor degree at Kent State. I am currently completing my MBA. I was able to get a copy of my transcripts, even after graduating 25 years ago, by faxing in a request. I did this for two different Universities, and they arrived within a week. In this age there should be a way to do it electronically like Kent State, but at least they do not charge you for them. Overall I had an excellent experience and they prepared me for a very rewarding career in Computer Technology. I absolutely have no regrets about this school, and I enjoyed my time there.Kevin Frazier

I can not believe Stark State has less than 4 stars! This is my second semester and I LOVE it! The faculty are truly amazing and extremely helpful! This college also offers small class room sizes which makes learning more personal. Your teachers and professors always do their best to know each student by name. It is also extremely great for working folks who have busy work loads. They have many courses that can virtually work with any type of schedule. There are many success programs that Stark State offers, including assistance with any subject as well as a great Accommodations program for those with any learning disability/disability from minor to severe. I graduated in the Summer of 2018, and I wanted to say overall my experience with OCTC had been good and not very much complaint, but I do have to say that I do not appreciate the way they shipped my AA diploma, and I know others have complained about this too. They shipped it in a flimsy envelope as if the achievement didn't deserve a better way of shipping. The certificate was crinkled on the edges and was bent down the middle. Overall I was able to flatten it out and frame it and was okay, but the lack of respect to graduates on this is kind of sad on OCTC's part. Future reference please do not treat your graduates this way. I wouldn't mind having a new one reshipped to me properly this time, and if I do get one then I will give OCTC a better rating. Owensboro Community & Technical College offers a variety of programs including: mechatronics, electrical maintenance, computer programming. They also sponsor and host the First Lego League Regional tournament each year. Hancock County Middle School has 2 teams that participate in this robotics competition each year.Gabe VanCappellen

Everything you could hope for from a community college. Great classes and teachers. Classes are cheaper than any 4 year college and credits are guarenteed to transfer to other local colleges. (For reference, I am a first-generation college student, have a learning disability, and a physical disability.) TMCC sets students up for success. I have had a very positive experience both as a student and working for the school. I will be finishing a dual-degree sooner than expected. Most of the professors are great, and everyone in the humanities department is amazing. Most of the staff is very professional and able to well-inform students of what classes to take and what services may benefit them. On top of this, the school also offers free tutoring and mental health services. As a first-generation college student, I feel TMCC has helped me at every step of the way to succeed. With only 8 classes left to take, I still have a cumulative GPA of 4.0 despite doing relatively poorly in high school. As long as you put in your best effort, teachers will do everything possible to help you succeed. If you do not put any effort in and expect a handout, then it will be extremely difficult to succeed. If you attend this school make sure to take advantage of any and all resources as well as putting in your own effort… you will not regret it. I recommend TMCC to anyone and everyone.Rove Plant Eater

This is a tremendous school with a caring and compassionate staff and faculty. This school has afforded me so many opportunities that I wouldn't have otherwise received without them. When I got to Reno, I was homeless. I arrived with two suitcases and less than $100 in the bank. I was staying with a friend and making very little money. I found myself in a situation where I worked hard labor job after hard labor job, trapped in a vicious cycle of injury and poverty and no clear view of how to exit my situation. In the month of December 2014, I walked into the offices at TMCC. In less than a year, I have found employment, I'm less than a year from finishing my degree and I am a Dean's list student. I had it in my head that I wanted to succeed and I was fortunate that this school wanted to help me to do exactly that. The teachers were compassionate and patient. The staff was courteous and helpful. I owe a great deal to this school because it has taught me more than academics. It taught me to be a better person.Brandon Canty

Don't listen to the bad reviews, everybody has a different experience and different perceptions. Ive taken at least 20+ classes over 12 years, I love tmcc. It's a good community college in every way. I attended here on and off from 1999-2012. I learned how to teach step aerobics from the greatest fitness instructor imo Verna Lewis. I took many general ed classes as well as a few paralegal courses and a ton of fitness classes as well. The campus is beautiful, many bathrooms with free sanitary napkins if needed, the vending machines are reasonably priced. The classes are very fair priced. It's a wonderful school and a WAY better option then a vocational school. eg: Realtor school online vocational school $600+, Tmcc Realtor program $50-100.Rachela Reno Rocks

I recently finished my second Technical degree for Metal Fabrication as a returning student. I delayed going back to school for years for lots of reasons, but mostly because I thought it would be as awful of an experience as High School was. Instead the teachers in my program were excellent. I was always challenged by the projects and supported in my learning in equal measure. If you're looking to get into welding or Metal Fabrication, these programs are career fields that need people, pay well, and you can learn them here! Don't sleep on the trade skills that can be taught here. Go to the open houses, see if these are things you're interested in doing. A 4 year degree isn't The guarantee of employment it used to be, but these one year Technical degrees, leading to in demand fields are.Travis H

Very nice tech college. Almost everyone you come across on campus can point you in the right direction. I just started school today online. But tomorrow I get to go to campus. It's a clean sanitary environment. There is currently some remodeling going on, so part of the building you cannot access… yet! AC was on, felt awesome. temperature didn't change much room to room either. All the employees seem to know their job very well and are willing to help. I chose Madison Area Technical College because I know many people that have graduated and successfully got into a job they wanted. This school is also smaller than UW Madison so I feel like the learning experience is better, more hands on, more participation versus a large school such as UW Madison.Shane Toycen

The good profs here are all just professors moonlighting from UW Madison, I'd honestly say you should apply to and go to literally any other UW system school before here. The quality of education isn't bad- but they somehow managed to misplace finances and put 650 bucks into collections randomly – without mailing me any notifications, and without a notifications on the online portal. You won't get competency from any of the administrative staff, expect 5 week long waits to see a counselor for any sort of urgent need. If you are a student with a disability – make sure you have additional copies of any medical documentation, they will claim to lose it. Most of the education staff despises the administrative staff and yeah, I can see why.Bee

The administration does not care about you. They do not care if you are a student or an employee, they do not care about you. They do not care about your kids, they do not care about the job you have to work on the weekend to make ends meet. The top administration will continue to rake in money for themselves and make sure they’re providing both employees and students with as little as they possibly can. All you are is either potential money or potential labor. You are a commodity to be used to the benefit of people you don’t even know. The highest paid are coiffed and in state owned vehicles while the people that actually work with the students wonder if they’ll have enough money for food.Leann Cooper

The entire art department is a joke. Calhoun has crippled its own photography program by getting rid of the best studio photography teacher it has probably ever had just because he didn't have a degree yet he's been a professional working photographer for about 30 years. Calhoun has a bad history of hiring people to teach that don't do their job. The dean and the underlings don't care if you have a problem if it affects their staff. Calhoun is famous for minimizing the parking spaces despite the rising number of students attending each year. The financial aid department is worthless too. I'm transferring to Wallace State instead of going back to Calhoun to earn my degree.BringPopcorn

What I love about Calhoun is that they want to make sure you know how to do. Hands down Calhoun is one of the be places to study IT in the state. The classes are small enough that you are able to get hands on training and your taught by instructors who work in the field. Not someone who is good at taking test and decided to teach. The only complaint I have is that Calhoun should try to improve the student experience more. It's hard to accomplish considering most students are only there 1-2 years but there should be more university sponsored events live movie nights, dances, etc.Christoper J

Great school for engineering and decent for nursing. Business school will depend on your work and the professors you choose(from 1-4 ⭐️). The support sucks. Try calling financial aid or student accounts and you know how living in purgatory feels like. One hour of waiting on the line is typical and if you wanna use the outdated mymav website to get help without calling them, good luck 😉 The number in the picture below belongs to student accounts department who will drop you from all your classes when u owe money so you need speed dealing with them. I suggest you’ll go there physically even if you’re infected with Covid19 as you have a better chance of reaching them in person. And the pictures following the call are from when i went to student accounts in person and the line for service goes into a second building. Meanwhile only one or two of their 6 booths are open for service….Daniel P

If I could give this university a zero star, I would do it. As an international student, I have millions of terrible experiences with this university. The graduate school and the international students office have been really really rude. They will try to frustrate you using any way they could. Also, the insurance requirement for international students have been so unfair. They will charge you lots lots of money for the insurance for the summer time even though you are not enrolled in any classes during the summer. Also, the staff working in the graduate school have been so rude and know very little. Some of the graduate and undergraduate classes have been so meaningless and do not worth the money.yaqing cao

Atm a lot of construction is going around the university. Either adding new school building, dinning areas, or apartments around the school. The gym is great, great gym equipment, indoor track, and classes that you can sign up for if you do not like working out alone. Building are easy to locate but if you have trouble finding them people will be nice to direct to the correct locations. School spirit is shown once in a while via the fountains (blue water) Very diverse univeristy. People from all over the U.S. and other countries.Jenni Jenni

In a time when unique challenges presented themselves, the College of Eastern Idaho dug in. There was never a question of whether the demanding conditions would stop students from getting their education, it was only a question of what needed to happen to make sure that they did. CEI faculty and staff, under the care of an amazing administration, simply rolled up their sleeves and got it done. The learning curve for adapting to a pandemic was wrangled by the brute force of amazing minds aligned towards a goal. These lengths taken were never about self-preservation, it was always about the students. It is, perhaps, that CEI has the mindset of success. It may be that there is only one direction to move when a challenge presents itself in our community. It is, perhaps, the way our community moves towards taking care of each other. The CEI family is healthy, strong and vibrant. The CEI family fits well in our community as a result of an ability to match its environment. I'm really proud to live and work in this community. Nice and clean campus seems to be well organized, the technical department seems very organized with all the tools and the training necessary to be prepared for my job. The campus was so clean and so organized that I think I will sign my wife up so she can start classes in the fall. We even showed up before classes were to supposed to start, and the security guard was good about letting us in, it was pretty cold, I hope somebody checked on him cuz he had to walk what seems like miles just to come open the door for us. 😁Ryan Archibald

They have helped me get my GED and have constantly given me the courage and the ability to be proud of myself…and now I am on my way to getting my 2 year associates degree in science.
